Seeing people say Jinshi is not all that and how his relevance doesn’t make sense HURTS ME… 😓
Guys, he’s a complex character, trust me 💔💔  People often seem to forget that he’s not just a silly ‘airhead’ in love. Even Maomao MULTIPLE times acknowledges & mentions how scary and intelligent Jinshi is. Like, he realized Maomao was literate in the matter of a few mins and then he used that against her cuz he realized she must’ve been the one who warned Lady Gyoukyo
Tumblr media
And then there’s just some people who hate him cuz he’s twisted & say that makes him a sh*tty leading character
Which i don’t get?? Of course the leads of a thriller mystery will be manipulative or sly. Or at the very least flawed to some capacity. Even Maomao herself is almost equally twisted and tends to be self serving Them both being flawed is what makes them intriguing characters. They both have their vices that they acknowledge - vices that add another layer of complexity upon their characters. Do you imagine how uninteresting this series would become if Jinshi was seriously JUST a silly lover boy and Maomao was a simple girl ready to help ANYTIME AND ANY DAY instead of being the way she is? This story’s charm comes not only just from the intriguing setting/mysteries but also how these flawed, yet interesting, characters act and think in said settings.

The feeling of loneliness and worthlessness when one has nothing, the person will stop expecting anything from life and will treat the bare minimum as the happiness.
Kai deserves better.

Hatsukoi by Mizuno Hideko
Tumblr media
Today, we've got a special treat for older shoujo connoisseurs! "Hatsukoi," a oneshot by Mizuno Hideko, was first published in Deluxe Margaret back in 1967.
The original story behind this oneshot is quite something. "First Love" was written by Ivan Turgenev back in 1860, the story of a young man who falls in love with a charming young woman by the name of Zinaida. Unfortunately, not everything goes as planned... You can read the English translation on Project Gutenberg: First Love.
We discovered that this story is actually an autobiographical of events from Turgenev, which really adds a whole 'nother flavor to it. Poor Ivan...
You can download Hatsukoi here or read it online on Mangadex here. Enjoy!

A friend of mine sent me this in the early hours of the morning. It took me a while to register that what i was looking at:
For those of you unfamiliar, this is a preview video released by netflix 1 mnth ago (and the fact that my friend had to send this to me just shows you how absolutely horrendous i am with social media 🤣) of the now adapted into animation version of thr manga PLUTO by Naoki Urasawa.
I nearly jumped out of study table in absolute joy when i saw the familiar faces cross my screen. I have been a fan of Urasawa's - ever since high school - when i read 2 of his stories: Monster and Pluto. Both of his stories - tho intrinsically different - never fail to capture the imagination of its reader; both in art style and storytelling.
Between Monster and Pluto, the latter is my favourite. In fact it is my favourite manga of all time. The overarching message it gives to the reader is universal in nature, and i feel more than ever is relatable in this day and age.
I first heard of a proposal for an anime adaptation of Pluto early on in 2017. When i read nothing of it since then, i had presumed that the project lost funding and resigned myself to never see an animated adaptation of it soon. But it seems I was gladly proven wrong this time. From this video alone it is clear that the animation team has really outdone themselves - they clearly took the time to observe Urasawa's artstyle in order to successfully replicate it in animation form (especially the combat scene!)
This adaptation of PLUTO has come a long way since being first proposed in 2017 and i really look forward to what it would have in store for us when it is finally released this year.

Heard the recent news that Atelier of Witch Hat is getting an anime adaptation! I'm pretty excited about it and also real curious to see how an anime series of Witch hat atelier will turn out in terms of animation and such.
It's likely still way too super early to tell when exactly said series will come out, such as having a year and date for it, since it's obviously in the production stages at the moment, hell you don't even have the name of a studio working on it yet.
I totally see either WIT studio or Kyoto Animation, MADHOUSE, or MAPPA and even Orange or Production I.G handling the series animation styling and the overall anime as a whole honestly. It would be very cool to see all of the magical elements and visuals from the manga fully animated, especially the scenes of the Sliver Night Festival / The Sliver Night Procession or the scene and chapter when Coco did her very first test.
There are just so many beautiful and great moments and scenes within this manga series that I'm seriously super in love with and can't wait to see how the anime series could do with these scenes and the rest of the storytelling from this thus far really good manga I'm super fixated on.

A girl and her guard dog
Absolutely love the manga, but unfortunately the anime adaptation wasn't what I had expected it to be.
If I were to recommend, then it would be that, it's better to read the manga than watch the anime...cause watching the anime might make you hate it😩
The story is absolutely good and interesting and the manga art is soo beautiful, so definitely a green light for the manga!!
The story does contain age gap, so if it's not your cup of tea...I advice you simply don't read or watch the anime.

the ban for dangais/BL live actions has been silently lifted after some changes in the management. BL live adaptations can now air anytime after passing the review and obtaining its distribution license. But they cannot promote its CP and will have less promotion.
Dangais from different platforms will air one by one.
