Don’t. I’m Fine

Rubbing their temples with an exhausted sigh, Caretaker sits back in their chair. “Whumpee, sit down. Neither of us is going to bed until that wound is bandaged.”

Whumpee laughs to hide a cough that sprays blood on their hand covering their lower face. “I already told you, I’m fine. This isn’t even mine.” They gesture to their stomach where another victim’s blood had splashed on their shirt. 

“So you’re telling me you’re wearing that jacket because you’re cold, and not because you’re hiding the fact that your side is dripping blood. You’re telling me that the sweat rolling down your face is because you exercised really hard on the walk from one side of the room to the other and not because you have a fever.” Caretaker leans forward, their elbows coming to rest on their knees, daring Whumpee to lie.

“Yes.”

“Did you know that my mother is an elementary school teacher? Whenever her students don’t cooperate with her, she always gives them till the count of three before she punishes them.”

“You wouldn’t dare.”

“Since you’re injured, I’ll give you till the count of five to take off your jacket and sit in that chair.” Caretaker stands and leans casually against the table, “One.”

“I can’t believe you! I told you I’m fine.”

“Two.”

Whumpee laughs a genuine laugh. They try to keep it subtle as they lean against the wall, opening their path to the door. “It’s not worth it. You know I’m stronger than you.”

“Normally I would begrudgingly agree with that statement. However, do you really want to challenge me right now? Three.”

“Don’t you dare touch me.”

“Four.”

Whumpee lunges for the door. Their vision blurs and starts to darken under the sudden motion. They slam into the closed door, unable to slow their momentum. The doorknob presses into their injury and their knees buckle under them. Strong arms stop their fall, swinging their helpless body into the corner away from the door.

“Five.” Caretaker’s hands are gentle but forceful as they turn Whumpee to face them.

Whumpee groans in pain, “Don’t touch me. Let me go.” Their hands clutch at Caretaker’s hands on their shoulders. They can’t help but tremble as one of Caretaker’s hands shift from their shoulder to their forehead, pressing their drooping head up into the corner. 

Caretaker sighs as they feel the heat coming off of Whumpee’s forehead. “It’s alright. Whumpee relax. I’m trying to help you.” 

“Stop. Please. I don’t.”

“You’re going to be okay, Whumpee. Just sleep.”

Shifting their hand from Whumpee’s forehead to the bleeding wound on their side, Caretaker grimaces. They can’t see the wound, but as Whumpee loses consciousness, they know it isn’t good. Caretaker meant what they said. They will do whatever it takes to make sure Whumpee makes it through this okay.

Day 11.2; The Candy Debate

AI-lesstober; fainting OC-tober; (skipped) Flufftober; sweet tooth Description; The terror twins debate on letting Jamie eat as much candy as she wants, aware it's not ideal. This turns into giving Jamie candy as she yet again is sick from not eating.

"Did you take my stash away?" Sideswipe asks, "again." "I don't care it's October. Actually, that's a good reason to take your stash away." "Geez, you won't even share with Jamie and Lily?" "It's only eleven in the morning." Sideswipe sighs, "I was thinking about giving Jamie some. I know candy isn't great while she's not eating much, but…" "I know; she's ended up in the medbay twice from not eating., and everything she still will eat without giving her guardians a hard time isn't great to be her only food." "Even I can't say her sweet tooth is a good thing with her eating habits." The two continue to talk about their concern about Jamie and her guardians.

The twins walk down the hall at noon, heading to the cafeteria. They walk downstairs seeing Jamie by the conference room. They know too well what's going on. The two get Jamie onto the floor. Sideswipe watches Sunstreaker get his candy stash and Gatorade from his subspace. "Sunstreaker," Sideswipe points to Jamie, who has fainted. She wakes up quickly. "Jamie? Hey, look at me," Sunstreaker has Jamie look at him, "you need to drink this." Sunstreaker puts the bottle on Jamie's lips and tilts it a little. Worried about the issue they'll have if Jamie isn't drinking. Should I still get a medic? Sideswipe asks. No, we're doing what Ratchet told her guardians to do when she ends up in the medbay. Where the frag are they?! Sideswipe asks. He gets up to go find them. Sunstreaker gets a Reese's from Sideswipe's candy stash. Jamie is doing better and sees what Sunstreaker has. Sunstreaker smiles seeing Jamie eyeing the candy. "Sideswipe is right. You have a sweet tooth just like him." Jamie eats the candy and drinks more of the Gatorade.

Sideswipe, Crosshairs, and Drift rush down the hall to their friends. Crosshairs and Drift immediately regret thinking Jamie would be fine for four hours. "Seriously guys!" Sideswipe scolds, "this is the third time!" "Sideswipe, enough," Sunstreaker argues. After Jamie finishes the candy, Drift takes her to their room. Crosshairs will get their lunch. Sunstreaker goes with him while Sunstreaker goes with Crosshairs. Sunstreaker gives Drift the candy bag.

Drift sets Jamie on the couch in a sitting position and gets more candy for her. The two mechs debate whether they'd rather Jamie tricked them into getting the candy and seeing her smile. Once Jamie eats the second candy and finishes the Gatorade, she lies on the couch. Still not feeling good, but better than ten minutes ago.

"I don't know what we're going to do," Crosshairs sighs, "we worry about causing Jamie to feel like she does in her dimension, but these… episodes are becoming frequent." Sunstreaker doesn't know what to say. Every Autobot and the few humans who know Jamie well worry about her. The two prepare a tray for each to carry with lunch for themselves and their friends.

The two walk into the room, seeing Jamie trying to sleep. The four mechs want her to eat more than candy. Drift sits Jamie up and gives her a plate. Hoping she'll eat. "I'll feed you if I have to," Drift comments. The four mechs laugh, seeing Jamie smile, before eating the small portion Crosshairs made here. They eat their lunch, happy Jamie is eating, but know there's a serious issue. Hoping they don't have to resort to drastic measures.

Everyone!!! Look at this Chinese drama I stumbled upon 🤩

It is called Best Enemy. Chinese drama, un- subbed on dramacool, first two eps subbed on IQUYI for free! 36 eps total! (Only 11 out currently)

Let me give you the rundown:

Chinese republican drama? Yep!😝

CrimeSolving/Police? Mmm hmm! 😊

Bromance? Uh huh!! ���

Minimal Romance? You know it 😉

Whump?!?! HELL YEAH 🤭

My initial take:

it’s freaking awesome. It actually checks all my boxes! The bromance is there, I like the story idea (friends to enemies to friends to enemies, to friends again trope 😁), the intro of the show is quite whumpy. I mean look at the first 5 mins of the first ep! This beauty had me hooked in seconds. THE BLOOD! THE GRAB AS THEY FALL! AHHHH.
