so imagine you're a person and you watch wheel of time and it alters your brain chemistry severely to the point that you end up reading a fantasy series for the first time in years bc moiraine's lesbian swag is just that hard siuraine will never be topped etc etc etc then the second season comes out and you have fun pulling it apart talking abt what worked and what didn't but then you get tonsillitis and then COVID and then tonsillitis again and you briefly forget how to read and can only stare at walls for entertainment and you agree to watch hunter x hunter with your siblings bc you liked a review podcast you listened to only to realize that its another series with two ambiguously (?) gay characters where one of them grew up amongst modest fishermen and the other grew up in an incredibly well known low-key not so cool family but they largely fight the violence of their upbringing out of the sheer goodness of their heart (while still being willing to use violence when necessary) who both join a magical-adjacent archaic institution where the rules don't make sense/seem needlessly harsh even if ultimately absurd and also they find out they have basically the same power levels and are constantly chasing each other to maintain that small power gap and preserve their eternal bond. what do you think that would do. to a person

Hi! I'm almost certain you've answered asks regarding Drow being a companion love interest before, but I'm not sure if my question was specifically discussed. If so, I apologize!

Say I wanted the smelly, gore lusting man (God the things I'd do), what would the player find themselves needing to do to gain that relationship with him?

HMM good question, lets see!

Generally speaking, to gain approval you would have to:

Show ruthlessness during dialogue and interactions (succeed intimidation checks or jump straight into combat)

Be kind towards animals, and honest/patient with children (He will be neutral if you just coddle them)

Oppose the absolute and antagonize mindflayers, gith, and drow.

Be nice to Shadowheart.

Pick a lot of the joke/playfully mean dialogue options.

Be a little hard-to-get in romance interactions until act 3.

Responding to his advances with more mellow, romantic dialogue will earn you more points than overt sexuality (In some cases, the latter may even get you disapproval).

Make him laugh.

To trigger his romance, you have to have good approval and sleep with him once. Following that, pressuring him to sleep with you again or shaming him for not putting your life in danger by trying will earn you disapproval, and an eventual break-up if you continue to insist. He enjoys being wooed, but not chased, and dislikes when you misunderstand his visceral attempts to emotionally reach out as sexual propositions; he will play along either way, but it will put him on a Bhaalist path.

Some quest choices that will get you on his good side:

ACT 1 -

He's indifferent if Arabella dies, but you gain approval if you save her.

Let him take on the Loviatar Priest when he requests it.

Don't get the Absolute's mark from Priestess gut.

Save Mayrina, but then either break or keep the wand.

Let Astarion kill Gandrel.

Help Karlach.

Either let Shadowheart kill Lae'zel, or stop the fight.

Don't kill the owlbear mother or cub.

Send Barcus flying (He doubles over laughing)

Kill Minthara.

Side with the mercenaries at Grymforge.

Kill the gith student refusing to fight.

Refuse to give the inquisitor the artefact.

ACT 2 -

Help Arabella find her parents.

Don't release the pixie from the moonlantern.

Help Mol cheat against Raphael.

Let him massacre the goblins at Moonrise Towers.

Get the Thorm bosses AND yurgir to kill themselves instead of fighting any of them (again: You are rewarded with him laughing his ass off about it)

Don't comply with Araj.

If you save Zevlor at the mindflayer colony, shame him for giving into the Absolute's call.

Antagonize the emperor after his reveal and refuse the astral tadpole.

ACT 3 -

Help Yenna with either gold or food, but don't invite her to your camp.

Kill Arfur once you find out about the explosive toys.

Forge an alliance with Gortash.

Win the Laff riot contest.

Don't surrender Dame Aylin to Lorroakan.

Don't sign the contract, but agree to get the Orphic hammer through other means later. (Anything to not rely on the Emperor anymore)

If she hasn't become a Dark Justiciar, don't surrender Shadowheart to Viconia (He will fight the party unless you leave him at camp and succeed a deception check later). He doesn't care what you do if she's a DJ.

Vanra's quest can get you either approval or disapproval at different points. He approves of you agreeing to help her, then also approves of you killing her for the money, but he disapproves of you letting the child die or of siding with Ethel.

Agree to the Avenge The Drowned quest (He just thinks they're hot)

Don't let Astarion Ascend, or kill him if he does.

Kill Sarevok.

Let him take on Orin by himself.

Don't turn into a mindflayer (he will break up with you later), nor let Karlach do it.

If he's become a chosen of Bhaal, let him control the Absolute.

i kinda have a basic idea Brocedes lore, like the timeline and everything. but were there moments post Monaco 2014 till the end of 2016 where Lewis and Nico had some nice and genuinely fun moments or were they all awkward and distant with each other?

Yup, you heard me. I've been hearing about it a bit, and my HP obsession just came back. You know what that means! Please know that all of these are just fun little ideas, and if you want to change their houses go for it:)

Ham is a Ravenclaw

Laurens is a Griffendor

Laff is a Ravenclaw

Herc is a Huffelpuff (You can not tell me that that man is not a big softie underneath)

Burr is a Slytherin

Washington is a fourth year Griffendor

Jefferson is a Slytherin

Maddison is a Huffelpuff

They all like to stick together, but often get into lively debates, where by the end, wands are drawn

No one knows how Ham isn't a slytherin, but then he pulls some wicked smart thing only he and Laff could pull off and it suddenly makes sense now

Herc mends ALL of the clothes whenever they get into a spell fight, and adds tiny details of personalization to each of the cloaks when no one is looking

Laurens and Ham sneak out quite a bit to hang out under the stars, Laff will always cover for Ham, while Washington (He unapproved of breaking the rules but understands the young love) will cover for Laruens.

Ham ends up going WITH harry into the area for the philosophers stone, and literally just walks around the chess board while they are playing, but gets knocked out cold by a rouge piece at the end of the game.

The schulyer sisters come in for the triwizard tournament, cue EVERYONE GOING INSANE FOR THEM BECAUSE OMG ITS THE SCHULYER SISTER MARRY ME-

Movie Review | Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (Molloy, 2024)

Listen, I was always gonna be an easy mark for this. You could play "Axel F" over a slideshow of Eddie Murphy's career and I'd be having a good time. And this is definitely heavy on the fan service. Within the first ten minutes, you've not only gotten the classic theme, but also "The Heat is On" AND "Shakedown". I was barking like Pavlov's dog. You have not just Axel Foley, but Rosewood, Taggart, whoever Paul Reiser played, and even Serge. And aside from Murphy... time comes for us all. To be honest, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton probably look a lot worse than they actually should because of their terrible dye jobs. You know who look good in this? Reiser and Bronson Pinchot, because they let their hair go grey. They understand the winds of time cannot be reversed, only accepted. There's enough shtick from all the boys here that it surpasses the meager expectations of a long gap fan service sequel. Ashton definitely has "day trip from the retirement home" energy, but I was hooting and hollering when Reinhold picked up an AK. "You can never have too much firepower."

But those without Beverly Hills Brain Damage might appreciate the modest amount of effort that went into this. This is definitely a streaming original and doesn't play at too high an energy level, but it's usually closer to "real movie" than "SNL parody" or "commercial homage to classic film". (One exception is the Nasim Pedrad scene, which plays closer to The Other Guys than authentic Beverly Hills Cop.) While only the second film is really satisfying as an action movie, the action here is directed with some visual flair. And most importantly, Murphy might operating at no more than 50%, but the fact that he's putting in effort when he so frequently does not means that this is worth some attention for fans of one of our great comedic talents. Much better than the "no more jokes" bullshit of the third movie.

I will say that this one's release date is definitely not coincidental, as it feels designed to live on as something that autoplays after you finish one of the recent Bad Boys sequels. It's got the same digital magic hour look, and even the same composer in Lorne Balfe, this time riffing on Harold Faltemeyer instead of Mark Mancina. And it's even got the same bullshit with the younger generation. Joseph Gordon-Levitt used to headline movies, and now he's stuck playing this movie's version of AMMO. To be honest, he actually plays pretty well off Murphy, and their scenes together are a lot more enjoyable than the boring ass father-daughter bonding scenes Murphy has with Taylour Paige. I understand Murphy is big on family these days, but he has a family in real life. So keep that shit at home. If I'm watching Beverly Hills Cop, I want nonstop laffs.

And on one last note, I appreciate that this didn't try too hard to modernize the formula, although the sudden concern Foley shows for police accountability and corruption is pretty rich given how blatantly he misused department funds and straight up took a bribe in the second movie, on top all the usual rule breaking he gets up to in all of them.
