Emory is the Cheshire Cat. I mean, duh. Talking cat with the ability to vanish/teleport as he pleases? They're basically the same lol.

Calypso is the Hatter. Feel like I don't need to explain this one.

Now here's where it gets Tricky. Because originally, Rowan was gonna be the March Hare (for obvious reasons) but. Imagine. Him as Alice & Kelly/Blair as the White Rabbit.

Alice was chasing the rabbit, trying to catch up to him. Rowan is chasing after his memories of Kelly & Blair, holding onto his guilt & trauma. He wants them to live. He wants them there with him. But they can't, it's simply not possible. They're dead. He'll always be "chasing" after them unless he lets go and accepts he can never "catch" them (aka accept that they're dead & gone).

Rowan as the March Hare. Despite my little rant/debate above to do like thinking about him being happy, believe it or not.

Blair and/or Elliott as Alice. Blair bc she's a little girl & Elliott bc of her dimension hopping abilities. Honestly both could be Alice at the same time, with Elliott trying to get Blair out of Wonderland.

Toby as the White Rabbit. Uh, time, obviously.

Kelly as the White Queen. She's (WQ) often depicted as peaceful and kind, much like how Kelly usually is (tho a 12yo queen probably isn't...the best idea, I can't say that Book!Alice being queen made any more sense).

Macbeth is the King of Hearts, making Glitch the Queen of Hearts. Again, this makes perfect sense in my mind and goes without explanation.

Jane is the White Knight. She is an actual knight. Moving on.

And as a bonus: Malware as the Caterpillar. Solely bc Mal does drugs lol.

Things I would love to see addressed in Watch_dogs 4 (or future titles/spin offs/DLCs/add ons):

Aiden's relationship with Damien. I don't need a complete run-down of their entire history together, but I'd love to get some insight on how Aiden ended up in Damien's care, and why Damien, cunning as he is, decided to take Aiden under his wing. Was there an alterior motive? What was their relationship like? Was there a foundation of trust or was it purely professional?

Aiden's childhood/ teenage years. What led Aiden to fall into a life of crime? What was his relationship with his father like, since his mother's fear/hatred for him didn't seem to faze Aiden, and Nicole seems blind to it. Why did his mother flee the country with her children and what became of their father after their departure? How did he find Jordi, and how long did it take to establish a level of trust between them that allowed Jordi to entrust him with business? Also... was Jordi's 'double-cross' planned beforehand, was Aiden in the know or not, and if not, how did he survive? Side Note: I am aware that the novel 'Dark_Clouds //', which Ubisoft outsourced to author John Shirley, touches upon this ever so slightly, but afaik, this wasn't confirmed to be canon.

The fall of DedSec San Francisco. I believe that Legion plants the seed for us to connect DedSec London being targeted as terrorists, to be the catalyst for the downfall of several DedSec cells globally, but Reginald seemed to have left DedSec SF behind the moment his relationship with Zane entered more serious waters, and he met Zane well before the events of BloodLine. Did the gang simply pass the torch once they entered another stage in their adult lives, or was something else to blame entirely?

Zane. Though not as mandatory, Zane seemed to have been the driving force behind Reginald stepping away from DedSec and his 'Wrench' persona, indicating that his relationship with Reginald must have been quite serious. If so, what caused their break-up? And who is Zane, to begin with? He seemed to fall in good graces with Markus, thus he must've been good to Reginald, as Markus tends to be quite protective toward those he holds near and dear.

A reunion between Aiden and Raymond Kenney. As much as either man likes to declare that they are lone wolves that prefer to avoid team-sports, they have both proven to excell when supported by outside-influence. And, according to the Bad Blood DLC: Aiden still owes Raymond a beer. I would love to see these beautiful minds get back together and reminisce.

Time-Shifting. As much as I love and appreciate grandpa Pearce, the, almost, senior-status age already proved to be a hinderance for the script and plot for BloodLine. I think early to late 40s is an okay age-range for WD4, as it could neatly shimmy itself on the timeline directly after WD2.

Mystery health concerns? Throughout the narrative of BloodLine, Aiden seems to hint at some physical limitations that surpass his mere age. Not to mention that he fainted twice, and then slipped into a coma. Though, given the plot from the Legion campaign, we can assume that Skye Larson was likely involved, since she did have a partnership with Rempart. Even still, I'd love to know whether Aiden's high-adrenaline, little sleep lifestyle, simply left marks on him, or whether he is legitimately hiding some slumbering illness from those around him.

Bacaan Injil Luk 12:13-21

Inilah Injil Suci menurut Lukas:

Sekali peristiwa Yesus mengajar banyak orang. Salah satu dari mereka berkata kepada Yesus, "Guru, katakanlah kepada saudaraku, supaya ia berbagi warisan dengan daku." Tetapi Yesus menjawab,

"Saudara, siapakah yang mengangkat Aku menjadi hakim atau penengah bagimu?" Kata Yesus kepada orang banyak  itu, "Berjaga-jagalah dan waspadalah terhadap segala ketamakan!

Sebab walaupun seorang berlimpah-limpah hartanya, hidupnya tidak tergantung dari pada kekayaannya itu." Kemudian Ia menceriterakan kepada mereka perumpamaan berikut, "Ada seorang kaya, tanahnya berlimpah-limpah hasilnya. Ia bertanya dalam hatinya, 'Apakah yang harus kuperbuat, sebab aku tidak punya tempat untuk menyimpan segala hasil tanahku.' Lalu katanya, 'Inilah yang akan kuperbuat: Aku akan merombak lumbung-lumbungku, lalu mendirikan yang lebih besar, dan aku akan menyimpan di dalamnya segala gandum dan barang-barangku. Sesudah itu aku akan berkata kepada jiwaku: Jiwaku, ada padamu banyak barang, tertimbun untuk bertahun-tahun lamanya. Beristirahatlah, makanlah, minumlah dan bersenang-senanglah!' Tetapi Allah bersabda kepadanya, Hai orang bodoh,

pada malam ini juga jiwamu akan diambil dari padamu. Bagi siapakah nanti apa yang telah kausediakan itu?

Demikianlah jadinya dengan orang yang menimbun harta bagi dirinya sendiri, tetapi ia tidak kaya di hadapan Allah."

Demikianlah sabda Tuhan.

Terpujilah Kristus

Dalam nas sebelumnya, kita membaca peringatan Yesus kepada para murid agar waspada terhadap kemunafikan orang Farisi. Pada nas hari ini, Yesus kembali mengajar dengan peringatan agar kita waspada terhadap ketamakan. Untuk itu, Yesus membuat sebuah perumpamaan tentang orang kaya yang karena hartanya merasa sudah memiliki segala sesuatu. Lantas, ia menjadi lupa bahwa nyawanya sendiri adalah milik Allah. Setelah semua usahanya mengumpulkan harta yang begitu banyak, singkat cerita Allah kemudian mencabut nyawanya (ay 20).

Firman Tuhan memperingatkan kita untuk selalu menjaga hati: "Jagalah hatimu dengan segala kewaspadaan, karena dari situlah terpancar kehidupan."  (Amsal 4:23), sebab dari hati bisa timbul segala hal yang jahat:  "...percabulan, pencurian, pembunuhan, perzinahan, keserakahan, kejahatan, kelicikan, hawa nafsu, iri hati, hujat, kesombongan, kebebalan."  (Markus 7:21-22). Keserakahan selalu menuntun seseorang kepada dosa dan menyimpang dari kebenaran, semata-mata bertujuan untuk kepentingan diri sendiri. Karena serakah Yudas Iskariot terdorong untuk melakukan pengkhianatan terhadap Guru-nya sendiri.  Ia tega menjual Kristus dengan harga tiga puluh keping perak. Dalam bacaan Injil malam ini dikasihiNya seorang berkata kepada Yesus: "Guru, katakanlah kepada saudaraku supaya ia berbagi warisan dengan aku" mungkin saja dia berselisih dengan saudaranya dan dia lebih mementingkan harta warisan ketimbang persaudaraannya.

Ketika membaca firman malam ini saya jadi teringat film Rain Man yang pernah saya ulas renungannya tahun lalu yang mengisahkan kehidupan Charlie Babbitt, pebisnis yang hampir bangkrut dan memiliki banyak hutang, ia egois dan keras kepala, mempunyai hubungan buruk dengan ayahnya hingga kabur. Ketika Charlie mendapat kabar bahwa ayahnya meninggal, ia berpikir bahwa seluruh harta ayahnya akan jatuh ke tangannya karena ia adalah anak tunggal. Charlie begitu marah saat mengetahui bahwa sebagian besar harta ayahnya malah diberikan kepada orang lain dan hanya mendapat warisan sebuah mobil tua. Dalam Luk 12;15 dikatakan “waspada dan hindarilah segala jenis keserakahan, karena bahkan jika seseorang memiliki banyak harta itu tidak memberinya hidup” karena serakah dan emosi, roh jahat mendorongnya melakukan berbagai perbuatan dosa dan melanggar hukum mulai dari membawa lari kakak kandungnya Raymond dari rumah penampungan autis dan memanfaatkan kemampuan daya ingat Raymond untuk berjudi demi kepentingan pribadinya. Dalam Filipi 2;4 dikatakan “dan janganlah tiap-tiap orang hanya mementingkan kepentingan sendiri, tetapi kepentingan orang lain juga”.

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, kita pun sering menjumpai orang seperti Charlie yang memanfaatkan orang lain untuk kepentingan pribadi atau kelompok dan cenderung bertindak secara memaksa. Manusia menjadi semakin individualis dan egois serta tidak lagi memiliki kepekaan dan kepedulian terhadap orang lain. Tuhan memanggil kita untuk menjadi berkat bagi orang lain, bukan lagi hidup untuk diri sendiri, terlebih lagi mementingkan diri sendiri.

Faktanya dalam kehidupan ini kekayaan berlimpah sejatinya tak dapat menjamin kepuasan maupun kebahagiaan seseorang.

Tak terhitung banyaknya publik figur yang mengakhiri hidupnya karena merasa 'kosong' dalam hidup padahal hidup bergelimang harta. Banyak orang berlomba mengejar kekayaan, kedudukan dan kenikmatan duniawi tanpa menyadari bahwa semua bersifat sementara kelak ketika kita dipanggil Tuhan, kita harus meninggalkan semuanya dan diminta mempertanggungjawabkan semua perbuatan selama peziarahan kita dibumi.

Tak dapat dipungkiri kita menghabiskan waktu untuk bekerja mencari uang, sedemikian sibuknya, kita mengorbankan keluarga, teman-teman, kesehatan bahkan Tuhan. Seolah-olah semua itu tidak penting, yang utama adalah bekerja dan menumpuk harta.

Perumpamaan yang disampaikan Yesus ini, mengajarkan kita agar berjaga-jaga dan waspada terhadap segala ketamakan dan tidak menggantungkan hidup pada kekayaan, namun kepada Tuhan. Kita tidak tahu kapan hidup kita akan berakhir. Yesus tidak mengajarkan pada kita bahwa harta itu tidak perlu dalam hidup kita, tapi bagaimana kita dalam hal menggunakan harta dengan benar dan berbagi dengan sesama agar kita kaya di hadapan Allah. Apapun yang ada dalam dunia ini adalah ciptaan Tuhan, bersumber dari Dia. Tuhan menyediakan kebutuhan hidup kita umat ciptaanNya, apapun yang ada di dunia ini termasuk harta benda adalah untuk kebaikan ciptaanNya.

Reunited with a Ghost || Rowan Self Para

Rowan was not a fan of bed rest, but it was made better with her cat Cleo keeping her company. The transfer of power had gone to River as she simply sat in bed, resting. She heaved a sigh because Markus was working, River was working and she was really missing her mom, knowing she would be having another child and her mother wouldn't get to witness it. She had dismissed her Ladies in waiting for the day. Even Scarlett was out with her dad for the week. She was utterly lonely in the moment and she knew it was her suped up hormones in this magical pregnancy. Cleo cuddled closer as if she could feel Rowan’s emotional shift. “Mama, it’s not fair that you don’t get to be here. It’s not fair you don’t get to see your granddaughters.” She could feel unshed tears stinging the back of her eyes. 

Just as she laid down, her body shaking with the sobs of grief that no matter how long it had been still hit her like a wave crashing against the shore, she heard a knock on the door. “Jade,” a familiar but unwelcome voice called out rushing over to her. “My sweet baby. I’m here.” 

Rowan recoiled at the sight of her father’s mistress, and Cleo stood taking a defensive stance in front of Rowan. Not many people on the staff knew he was still alive but Bianca did. And that wasn’t all she knew. She and Raymond were an item. It was knowledge that Rowan detested knowing and even more so detested the woman. “Bianca, get out of my room. And never in your life call me Jade again or I swear to the suns and sands I will rip your fucking heart out with my bare hands.” The vitriol in her voice was familiar. But it didn’t sound like her. It sounded much like her father. Even to her own ears, she could recognize how much like him she could be. 

It caused a chuckle from Bianca, and she stroked Cleo’s fur as if she were familiar with the cat. Cleo, the traitor, relaxed into the touch as though this was familiar. “You sound just like him. Ray, will be proud to know you have it in you.” 

“Why are you here, Bianca?” 

“Jade, you have a gift that not many share listen. It’s not Bianca. Her body? Yes, but it’s your mother. I was here watching over you when you started to cry. I went to Bianca and she agreed to let me in to take over to…hold my baby one more time. Or she said for as long as I want.” Tears rolled down Bianca’s face and Rowan really listened. It was true. She heard the two conversing in her consciousness. Her mother was really here. 

“Mama?!” Jayden Hartwell was really back in some form. “So it’s true? The Veil is down? For how long?” 

“I don’t know, but I don’t want to waste a minute. Can I climb into bed with you? I know you’re grown but I want to hold my sweet child who’s carrying a baby of her own.” 

Rowan nodded and Jayden climbed into bed with her wrapping her arms around her. Cleo settled in front of Rowan resting her head next to Rowan’s tummy. “Mama, things have been so hard. I don’t feel like I’m leading. I feel like I’m existing. Doing everything wrong. I haven’t even started trying to renew the peace treaty and I don’t know if it’s possible. And I don’t know if I’m being a good wife or mother because you’re not here so I can’t lean on you. Why weren’t you here! Why didn’t you try to be here?! I got married without my dad to walk me down the aisle. I had a baby and I was so scared and I just wanted you to be there and you weren’t! And now I’m having another one I…” Rowan sobbed and it felt like her heart was aching with a mixture of anger and grief. 

Jayden stroked her hair, holding her tight. “I know, and I’m sorry. I don’t know who is responsible for my death Rowan, but I’m sorry I didn’t fight harder for you. Rocky isn’t here?” 

“No. Since your death she travels and I think Ryan hurt you for the throne. Without River I would be a Hartwell alone. You and dad prepared me for a full family. You never prepared me for this! To have so little family and to do this without you.” She knew she shouldn’t waste this time with anger but she had been holding on for so long. 

“My sweet Jade, I’m sorry. But you’re not alone. You have River. You have your father. You have your daughter, your husband. You aren’t alone.” She stroked. “You could also have Bianca if you let her.” 

“Mama, don’t make me throw up! Can you stay? At least long enough to meet Markus and the babies?” 

“I don’t know how long the veil will be down. But as long as I have Bianca’s approval I’ll be here.” She paused as if she was listening to something. “She said I can stay as long as I want.” 

“Okay,” Rowan said quietly. Her mom began to hum a song that would calm her when her anxiety. It lulled her right to sleep in her mother’s arms once again. 

Sleep felt surreal and happy. Until a familiar pain hit her in the stomach and she groaned. Her hands went to her stomach and she felt a paw there too. “Cleo I’m okay. I think it’s just,” she paused as another sharp pain came. She didn’t know why she was trying to get out of bed, scrambling she doubled over with pain. 

“Rowan get back to bed! Where are you going? What’s wrong?” Her mother asked. 

Her pregnancy was being sped up one last time. Her water breaking contractions coming far too fast to be normal. “Get Markus, Mama! Tell…tell the staff to call Vada. The baby is coming!”
