Moi Devochki: Chapter 6
Word count: 1692
WandaNat Masterlist Marvel Masterlist Moi Devochki Masterlist
Tumblr media
Yesterday had passed by with little event, you had chosen to stay in your room with your mates. You were tired after all you had gone through so you were content on laying in the nest and catching up on some much needed sleep while Wanda and Natasha cuddled you. They let you sleep, only disturbing you when it was meal time but even then they didn’t make you leave the room or the nest for that matter, they had Yelena bring up their meals and yours so you could all eat together.
In between your frequent naps you’d find yourself watching Wandas sitcoms with her, or asking Nat to sing Russian lullabies to you. They truly were the best mates and you consider yourself very lucky to be able to call them yours. They of course felt the same way about you.
Wanda knew your heat was approaching and she knew hers would sync up with yours, just like usual. However, unlike usual there was now an Alpha involved and this excited her very much. Nat knew being around both her mates was sure to trigger her rut, she also knew she had to talk to the two of you about wanting pups yet or not. It didn’t matter to her, she could wait to put her pup in you both but she would also gladly drop everything to do with the Avengers to have a family with you both. Plus she wanted to be absolutely certain you were ok with everything that would happen during that time, she didn’t want to upset you after what Steve had done.
You were awakened to the feeling of your Alphas hand gently caressing your hip. You smiled sleepily before turning to face her, “Hi Tasha”  you whispered so you wouldn’t wake Wanda.
“Hi medovyy(honey). Did you sleep well?” she asks
You nod, “I did. Did you?” you answer as she pulls you closer
“I did too.” she answers, planting a kiss to your forehead.
She looks down at you and you can tell she wants to talk about something but seems nervous.
Your hand cups her cheek, “Talk to me Alpha. What is it?”
“I know you heats approaching and I just don’t want to do anything that will make you uncomfortable. Steve really hurt you.” she answers
You smile at her caring nature, “Tasha, being with you won’t make me uncomfortable because I want to be with you. I love you and I want to mate with you during my heat.”
She nods, but before she can say anything Wandas sleepy voice can be heard, “I want to mate with you during our heat too Alpha.”
Her smile becomes larger, “Of course Moi Devochki(my girls). We can mate as often as you need and I will take such good care of both of you.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating asking the question she knows needs to be asked. “Do you want pups?”
Wanda sits up in the nest in order to get a better look at Nat, the Alpha worries she's asked the question too soon and has potentially freaked you both out, “It’s ok if you don’t-”
“Yes.” Wanda is quick to say, “Yes, Alpha. I want to have your pups and I don’t care if that means no more missions. I just want to have a happy family with both of you”
She smiles as tears form in her eyes, “I’ll happily let you carry my pups dorogoy(sweetheart).” her eyes look to you for your answer
“I want to have your pups too, Alpha.” you answer making both your mates hug you
“I will happily give them to you medovyy(honey). I can’t wait to have a family with you both, I should probably put a down payment n the place I found for us.” she says
“You found a place for us to live?” Wanda asks excitedly.
It hadn’t been discussed between the three of you but each of you knew you'd have to move out of the compound once pups became involved since the Omegas wouldn’t be allowed on missions and it was just safer for them to not be at the compound. Plus once born the pups would need their own space with only their parents around at first. So when she first bonded with you both she started looking at places to live just so she could be prepared.
“I did. Is that ok?” she asks suddenly nervous
“Of course it is Tasha.” you answer, cuddling into her
“Where is this place? What's it like?” Wanda asks
Nat smiles, “It’s a few miles away from Clints farm.” she answers while pulling up the listing on her phone so you and Wanda can look through the pictures
“It’s beautiful Tasha.” you tell her
Wanda smiles, “It’s perfect for us.”
The Alpha smiles, proud of herself. “I’ll make sure it’s ours then.”
The three of you continue to lay in the nest for a few hours, enjoying snuggling while talking about plans for the house. What furniture to buy, what walls are to be repainted, what Wanda wanted for the kitchen. It was all very domestic, and gave you such a nice warm fuzzy feeling. Wanda had that same fuzzy feeling, a life with you and Natasha sounded almost surreal to her, to really get the life she wanted made her so happy and excited. Natasha felt it too, until meeting the two of you she’d never been interested in any Omegas so to be able to bond with you both and start a life with you both, it made her happier than she thought possible.
The rest of the day passed by as most do, the three of you going about what Avengers business needed taken care of while also spending as much time with each other as possible. As the end of the day approached and the three of you returned to your shared room your Alpha could tell how tired you and Wanda were, your heat wasn’t far away at all.
She looks at the two of you lovingly, “Do I need to tell Fury I need the next week off starting tomorrow?”
You nod as Wanda looks appreciative, “Yes, please Alpha.”
She immediately texts the man and informs him of the situation, and he clears her for as much time as she needs to properly care for her mates. Once she's done, she decides to pamper the two of you tonight. She heads into the attached bathroom and over to the massive bathtub that easily fits all three of you and begins to fill it with water. She pours a decent amount of bubble bath into it before making her way back into the bedroom while the tub begins to fill.
“Moi devochki(my girls), would a nice bath make you feel more relaxed?” she asks, already knowing the answer
“You're amazing.” is your response causing a chuckle to leave the Alpha
“Come on detka(baby).” Wanda says as she stands and grabs your hand, excited for a relaxing bath
The two of you enter first, your Alpha right behind you. She watches as you tenderly help each other undress. She still can’t believe she's lucky enough to be able to call you both her mates.
You turn to look at her, “Alpha, are you joining us?”
“Of course I am.” she says with a smile as she walks over to you
You and Wanda help the Alpha undress as well. Once all three of you are naked she helps each of you into the tub before getting in herself. The two of you cuddle into Natashas sides as the three of you relax in the warm water that's filled with bubbles.
Natasha gently washes Wandas hair, she hums as the Alphas hands lather the shampoo into her scalp. Your Alpha then moves on to your hair, a gentle purr leaves you as the works some tangles out of your hair. Nat smiles at the relaxed state she's been able to get her Omegas in, you and Wanda are practically falling asleep against her.
She gently nudges you both, “My Omegas, why don’t we go to bed?” Wanda mumbles something in Sokovian making you chuckle and making you Alpha give her a confused look.
“She wants five more minutes in the bath.” you offer us so your mate knows what's going on in your other mates head.
She chuckles, “Come on dorogoy(sweetheart), I promise our nest will be just as warm and comfortable.”
“Mmm, ok” she mumbles, making you chuckle at her sleepy state.
You get out of the tub and grab your towel, drying yourself off before wrapping it around yourself. You grab another towel and begin to dry off your hair. Meanwhile your Alpha is still trying to convince a very tired Wanda to get out of the bath. She finally listens and they both join you in drying off before getting dressed.
Now in your pajamas, Natasha guides both of you to your nest. The three of you snuggle into each other as night time settles over the compound. The TV plays on a low volume as Wanda sleeps against Natasha, who is rubbing soothing circles on your back to ease you into sleep.
Just as you begin to doze off, the scent of strawberries fills your nose. Your body was quick to react and your Alpha was nearly overwhelmed when your honey scent hangs in the air as well. She shifts in the nest, pulling both of you closer to her until you both are practically on top of her. A grunt leaves her as she begins to scent you both, her instincts winning over as the need to make it known you both were hers increases.
Tomorrow morning the instinct to protect and keep both her Omegas safe would pretty much be all that's on Natasha's mind. For now she was content enough that her mates were asleep with her. She knew you'd both need her to be well rested tomorrow so she settles back down and joins her mates in a comfortable sleep.

Keeping Jamie Warm
Jamie wiggles his toes back and forth and tries to be subtle about the way he’s brushing his hands up and down his arms. He doesn’t want Roy to notice, so he keeps the movements slow in case it jostles Roy where their bodies are pressed together.
Across the room, there’s a marine life documentary playing on Roy’s TV. He’s dozing next to Jamie, legs propped up on the ottoman and one arm slung along the back of the sofa. It creates a space where Jamie is tucked against his side, head resting somewhere between Roy’s shoulder and his chest.
It’s nice, easy and domestic in a way Jamie’s never really had before. Even his previous relationships were always focused on doing things together, never just being together. But as much as he gives Roy a hard time about being a Granddad, he’s not actually all that opposed to quiet nights in front of the TV or playing checkers or baking cookies together.
Roy is trying to teach him the rules of chess, but apparently his pawns aren’t allowed to jump over Roy’s pieces, and there’s no way to turn any of the other characters into kings, so Jamie thinks it’s pretty boring.
Tonight, they’d thought about an action movie, or maybe some sitcoms, but when Roy scrolled past a program about the coral reefs, they ended up settling on the gentle, soothing content to wind down the day.
In these quiet moments, Jamie marvels at how well he and Roy are fitting together. It’s only been a few weeks, sure, but the transition from friends to something more and better has been almost seamless – even if they haven’t found the right label for it yet, or been able to tell their friends. His mum knows, and Roy’s sister and Phoebe, and that’s perfect for now. Somehow they’re able to spend every day together, from morning workouts – it's not training, not like it used to be, now that Roy is the head gaffer and has to worry about the optics of favoritism, but they both like to start the day with a run, and there’s no sense in not doing it together – to team training and then back to Roy’s house for the evening, unless they have something else planned.
It’s maybe the best thing Jamie’s ever had.
The only way it could be better would be if Roy kept the place a couple of degrees warmer.

Prompt: Vision gets a present from Wanda for his first "birthday"
----
Hours passed and yet, Vision refused to move from his spot in the living room chair. He had spent nearly the entire afternoon going through his memory database in an attempt to organize his thoughts.
Everything had been so chaotic recently and he found taking a few moments and even a large chunk of the day for some "me time", as Mr. Stark called it, was the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon. The base had been rather quiet and Vision was more than happy to use this opportunity to his advantage.
He had been so deep in his thoughts that he hadn't even heard Wanda walk through the hallway door.
“Vis?  You okay?” She asked, quietly placing her things along the table, save for one item specifically. Despite his obvious distraction and her subtle attempts to be nonchalant, he noticed the item as she discretely hid it behind her back.  It caught his attention, causing his curiosity to grow.
A wide smile spread across her face, pushing her other hand behind her back in an attempt to appear more natural. It had been far too late, however. Vision pushed himself to his feet, meandering slowly into the kitchen.
“I am.  Some complications needed to be...attended to.  I believe I have solved the issue.” Wanda nodded, nodding her head in wide movements to appear interested. Yet, he wasn't fooled. “What exactly are you hiding?”
"I'm sorry?"  Wanda cocked her head to the side, sliding one foot towards the bedrooms and then the other.
"The box there that you're so ardently hiding behind your back." Vision nodded towards her, leaning to one side to get a better look. The box was white, about the size of a book, but he could discern little else from the small glance he had granted himself. She tucked it further to the side, clearly holding it hostage from his prying eyes.
“The...Oh!" She stammered, peering behind her with wide eyes.  A strange chortle jumped from her body as she jumped to the side, desperate to make her grand escape.  "I can’t tell you.”
“And why not?” Vision closed the distance between them with his large stride, locking eyes with her as she tried to weasel her way around him.
“It’s a surprise," she spoke quietly, an action that caused confusion to take hold of him.  He moved closer to her causing her to quickly jerk away from him.  She sighed loudly, finally aware that he wouldn’t take no for an answer especially with her acting so coy.  “It’s for you, okay?  I’m not done with it though so you gotta wait.”
“A gift for me?  Whatever for?“
“Can you just-” Wanda cut herself off, holding her free hand out in front of her. “Hold on.” Wanda pleaded before disappearing into her room, careful to keep the gift hidden out of his view.
Vision went back over to his seat, content with the fact that he would be unable to figure out exactly what it was until it was completed. He could hear paper tearing in the other room, quiet grunts and groans as she struggled with her task.
A smile crossed his features, touched that she would go through all this trouble just for him.
After several minutes, Wanda sprang forth from her room holding out a small box now covered in brightly colored wrapping paper. A cheerful smile spread across her face as she waited fir Vision to take the package.
“Here you go!  Happy birthday!” She said cheerfully, unable to contain her excitement.
“Wanda, you know full well I don’t have a birthday," he corrected. He frowned at the package, not entirely sure of the proper reaction he was supposed to give. No one had ever given him anything before. He stared at the gift with wonder, slowly reaching out his hand.
“You do kinda.  I just...thought it would be a good idea to celebrate.”  She shrugged, the smile never leaving her face as he accepted the gift. “You got something for mine.”
“That’s because you were actually birthed and my research said that it was appropriate.” Everyone else had presented her with a wrapped gift. He had been told it would be unwise to come home empty-handed and so he purchased a gift, happy to oblige in a joyous human tradition.
“Well, happy...activation day?”  Wanda said happily, pushing the present towards his chest, clearly picking up on his reluctance. Vision grimaced, not entirely fond of the idea when they both knew his "birth" had been anything but traditional.  “Just open it!” She insisted, frustration bubbling.
Carefully removing the wrapper, Vision ripped it off of the box revealing a complete DVD box set of The Dick Van Dyke Show.  The main characters sat happily on the cover, laughing the day away without a care in the world.
“It’s a sitcom," Vision stated plainly, looking up at her with intrigue.
“It’s my favorite.  I thought...maybe we could watch it together.”   Her demeanor quickly shifted from excitement to nervousness. Grabbing the edge of her shirt, she fiddled with the seam.  She rarely got so skittish, but the action filled him with happiness, nonetheless.  "If you'd like to that is..."  She continued, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.
Vision smiled, nodding his head slowly.  Reaching up to her face, he placed his hand firmly along her cheek in a moment of pure happiness.  “That sounds like a marvelous idea.  Why not start it now?”
She perked up, eyes widening as she watched him cross the room back to the living room.  “Really?”  Vision bent down, placing the first DVD in the player with quick, determined movements, the smile never faltering from his features.  While he had yet to get the entire story of why sitcoms meant so much to her, he was well aware of it.  This gift meant a great deal to her.
“Certainly.”  Pressing the button on the box that sat underneath the television screen, Vision moved over to the couch.  Once he was settled, he eyed her curiously, patting the empty space beside him.
Wanda’s face brightened, hopping onto the couch beside him.  Situating herself into the crook of his arm, she gazed happily at the television with a soft sigh.  Vision rested his arm behind her, pulling her against his side as they often did.
“Thank you.  Truly.”  He spoke quietly, carefully taking hold of her hand as the credits lit up the screen.
“Of course, Vis.”

wandavision: the criticisms post
tl;dr: i liked the show, but there were aspects that were annoying and dumbfounding to me and here’s the post that covers That ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this was gonna be my comprehensive wandavision review post that had both cons and pros, but the cons kind of ran away from me lsdfjs SO YOU’RE GETTING THIS FIRST. if you find my views diverging from yours in either direction, you’re valid, please don’t shiv me. this is just how i Feel in a somewhat shitposty (as per usual) format. 😔
the big con list:
the way wanda’s actual villainy gets brushed away by the narrative: or specifically the way wanda strolls past the people she mentally tortured and traumatized for a week to apologize to monica, who then goes “gg girl i would’ve done the same :)” and then wanda leaves that entire mess—that she caused—behind her and bails lol. that scene is a microcosm of my problems with this show’s attempt at portraying what the creators have described as her ““complexity””. they want us to feel sorry for her, but not in the way that we can sympathize with walter white while still acknowledging he’s broken bad. rather, this show seemed to want to paint her as more of a victim than the people she victimized. they still want her to come out looking heroic and triumphant and rewarded from her journey with new powers, a new superhero outfit, a new superhero moniker. and that falls flat when you realize she’s basically been a self-absorbed asshole throughout the course of this show. she was confronted no less than four times, and told point blank that a few thousand people were suffering under her control. that is not something we can excuse with depression and denial. that means that at multiple times she is making at least the subconscious choice that her happiness matters more than the wellbeing of her meat puppets, which includes children, across the span of a week. i don’t see monica rambeau “doing the same thing.” the fact that they made her say it while the townspeople glared on in miserable silence just rubbed me the wrong way. if they really wanted to make her responsible for westview, while also wanting her to come out looking remotely good, they needed to invest in a much more substantial redemption arc for her than “i didn’t mean to, gonna go self-exile now.” or even holding everything else constant, they could’ve delivered a more nuanced take where westview was in dire straits before her arrival. the westview she initially drove through already looked economically depressed, so i don’t know why they didn’t just follow through with this. but they could’ve made it so that by granting herself happiness and prosperity, she could’ve spread that genuinely throughout the citizens. instead of hex vision waking norm up in horror, you could’ve had him begging to be put back under. that way, her decision to accept and face reality head on could also be reflected by the people of westview. where everyone, perhaps aided through wanda’s mind link, decides they shouldn’t let fantasy consume themselves at the expense of improving their actual reality. there’s still moral ambiguity, there’s still mistakes being made, we can still side-eye wanda for doing the equivalent of drugging people, but at least these npc’s would've gained something from wanda blundering into their lives. but no she made 3 thousand people suffer through the literal plot of Get Out, giving them life-long ptsd and trauma with nothing good, and i think that’s bad. if she has more haters after this series, i can’t even blame them. but apparently she has a shit-ton more fans after this series, so... OH WELL, IT IS WHAT IT IS sdkfjkls
TYLER: which brings me to the thought that, if this show had hayward acting like a three dimensional human person with the bare minimum intellect required to run SWORD ... instead of an incompetent jackass scooby doo villain ... a lot of us would be spamming #HaywardWasRight. tyler hayward might legitimately be the worst villain mcu has ever produced, like edging past malekith. is he supposed to be an analogue to real world tr*mp appointed deputies? unlike agatha, he’s not even entertaining to watch. he’s the ted cruz of the mcu, which is bizarre when he was introduced as the strict but not particularly vexing or unreasonable successor to maria rambeau in episode 4. it ended up feeling extremely contrived how the show attempted to aggressively signal us with “hayward bad” and “wanda good, actually” through the lens of monica, darcy, and jimmy. it’s like they had to make hayward come across as Extremely Dumb in order to make wanda come across as the more sympathetic party, when she was the one doing [gestures vaguely at wall of text above].
and SPEAKING of agatha: she also ended up being the exact kind of simplified reductive cackling “gimme ur powers wanda” evil super witch that i didn’t want her to be. that’s all.
the theorybaiting: i didn’t care about the lack of mutants/doctor strange cameo (lol what happened, charles murphy)/multiverse/blue marvel/reed richards/mephisto/nightmare/chthon (altho we did get the darkhold wink wonk) so much that it ruined my experience. ralph bohner was disappointing, but i got over it. my issue here is more that they deliberately baited a more interesting story than they delivered, and i think they shot themselves in the foot with that. the first 7, even 8 episodes had set up this atmosphere of mystery and intrigue, only for them to wrap up all these questions with the most boring, uninspired answers possible. question: what does hayward want and what is he up to? answer: hayward is simply a stupid dingus. question: who is agatha harkness and what is she up to? answer: an evil witch who just wants to steal yo powers. question: who is fietro? answer: lol boner. question: was it wanda all along? answer: yes, but no it was actually agatha, but actually yes, but she didn’t mean to and is kind of sorry and now she’s gonna fly away so have fun with your ptsd, westview. ????????? yeah they could have ... done some of that better.
the pacing in the end: i remember when they said it was gonna be “around 6 hours,” and we got 4 and a half hours of actual content instead... they should have given us that extra 1 and a half hour to flesh out the finale. the sitcom portion was fun, it feels like the sitcom portion was prioritized in the writing room, and that the overarching narrative beyond the sitcom suffered to accommodate it. when it came time to break away from the format, they stumbled. so in the beginning, there were segments that felt authentic to the era but were fairly critiqued as “dragging on” ... and in the final episode, we had... the final episode. monica and wanda’s ending conversation felt unsatisfying, both wanda’s apology and monica’s acceptance of it rang particularly hollow [also gestures vaguely to wall of text above]. the appearance of white vision should have had much more of an impact on ... everyone, especially wanda. except the dude just dips and no one mentions him ever again. i feel like hex vision being revealed as the the vision that had always been ~part of her should have also had more ... fleshing out. darcy and jimmy basically ended up having no arcs in this show. they served as stand-ins for the audience, and because they were written to feel sorry for wanda (in a situation where she was absolutely deserving of more scrutiny), the audience too gets manipulated toward doing so.
there’s probably more to add but i’m running out of brain juice BUT THOSE WERE THE BIG ONES STORY-WISE

WandaVision Spoilers
Wherein I watch it and have a few comments, but no super deep thoughts. Obviously there are spoilers.
I'm excited for some fresh Marvel content. It feels like it's been a hundred years. Damn it, 2020.
The only thing I know about WandaVision are the two trailers, and that's it.
Oh, they gave us two episodes right away. Thanks, Disney! Let's see what happens.
Episode 1:
lol, the theme song. And oh man, a laugh track.
So, very Bewitched meets Dick Van Dyke Show right off the bat.
"My wife and her flying saucers." Har har har.
Good set design. Very period. They raided every prop house in a hundred miles.
Hey so, did Bettany and Olsen study 50s-60s sitcoms and the awkward stilted dialogue and physical staging? (Not a knock on them, it's like, throwing me back to all the shows in syndication that I never wanted to watch when I was home sick from school or something, and yet, it was all the was on until cartoons later. Yes, I'm old enough to remember life before ubiquitous cable/satellite tv. Though, we were also poor and late to jump on the cable train.)
Legit question, do people still play bridge? My grandparents had a bridge set growing up, but honestly I never remember anybody ever playing it. My mom was more likely to play Dealer McDope. Yes, that was a real game. My parents were hippies and ran a head shop when I was very little. My formative influences were a little ... something.
"That embarrassing display of beatnik enthusiasm." "I wore a turtleneck." Okay, that was good and deserved a better punch from the laugh track, guys!
I like “My wife’s European” from the guy with the accent. lol
"You move at the speed of sound, and I can make a pen float through the air. Who needs to abbreviate?" Heh.
Honestly, while I appreciate the dedication to the conventions of 60s sitcoms, most 60s sitcoms were not very good (full disclosure, though, I don't really like sitcoms anyway, so I’m probably biased), and while the sitcom awkward setup was very on brand, it's also awkward in a way I don't like. Embarrassing humor hurts me in my brain and my soul. 12 minutes in and I'm sure somebody needs to get to a point here.
I don't meant to sound impatient, but, really, this was not a TV era I ever particularly enjoyed. I did not love Lucy. Shocking, I know, but there, I said it. The Honeymooners? More like the Honeysnoozers, amiright? There were some things that survived in syndication for far, far too long. But, I digress …
I like Vision trying to figure out what exactly he does for a living. The bits of confusion are all good, but the hamming it up is not something I mostly care for. I acknowledge this is a matter of personal taste, and is no commentary on the acting, because honestly, they’re managing it pretty much spot on.
The sing along. This is all so awkward. I know it's meant to be, but man.
Yay a strange turn. A turn of strangeness. Good strangeness. I think maybe if they layered some of that in a little more, Wanda and Vision having these blank spots, and not made me suffer through so much sitcomness, I would have liked this episode a little better. Again, a+ follow through on the tropes, but I didn't want to really watch a 60s sitcom with one minute of weird. Needed More Weird!
Good looking end credits.
Episode 2:
Okay, let's move things along. Please don't make me watch another full episode of sitcom with a smattering of strange.
Oh no, I can't skip the 'previously on' of the episode that I just watched 30 seconds ago. Disney! Fix that!
Oh no times two, an awkward sitcom scene. Though, we've moved up more firmly into the mid-60s. So, progress.
Lol, okay, the animated opening credits are excellent. Really quality. Somebody gif those stat!
Man, do they have a different set every episode? I don't mean the set dec, but actual set layouts. That's not a little thing. It's just a three room setup, but still.
Phew, only had to wait about 5 minutes for some 'odd' this time. A toy helicopter in color. Hey, remember Pleasantville? That was a good movie. I haven't seen that in ages.
"Can I give you a bit of friendly advice?" "Is it about the way I'm dressed?" "Yes, but it's too late for that." Heh. Agnes is a delight.
Dottie — oh hi Emma Caulfield! I haven't seen her in forever.
Man, I just had crazy deja vu, during this awkward neighborhood watch scene, but then I remembered, I did actually see this clip before … somewhere? Wait, did I? Now I'm doubting myself. Somebody tell me they did release a bit of that clip at some point. I don’t think it was in either of the trailers. So weird.
Oh, no, gum is gumming up Vision's works. Har Har.
Weirdness! The radio is talking to Wanda! "Who's doing this to you, Wanda?" Good weirdness. Creepy weirdness. I like.
Hydra was in the watch business, was it? Well, I guess everybody needs a day job. I mean, Howard Stark made toasters. Are these ads a clue? Hmmm.
Oh, no, Vision with his gummed up works is going to ruin the talent show that is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the children! Gum apparently makes him drunk?
The talent show is funny. But, it's a little too long.
"Is that how mirrors work?" lol.
"That really gummed up my works, didn't it?" That joke crashed to earth like 12 minutes ago, my guy.
Oh noes, Wanda is suddenly and mysteriously pregnant. Followed by strange banging and and a creepy beekeeper crawling out of the sewers. As happens in the suburbs so often. No, though, it's good creepy. Then she rewinds to a more pleasant moment. And we go to color.
Okay, are we going outside the tv world? Oh, alas, we’re not. How are we at end credits with 7 mins left? Geez, come on. So short, these episodes.
So, is Wanda imagining a tv world where Vision is alive? Or trapped by some outside forces trying to keep her docile in a perfect sitcom world where Vision is alive? Did Sokovia also suffer through cheaply acquired runs of American sitcoms in syndication during Wanda's childhood? Is the mind stone somehow messing with them both? So many questions. Very little to go on at this point, but so far this feels more heavily Wanda’s POV than Vision’s.
Anyway, I mostly liked it, but I also feel like it was slow to get to a point. This is a 9 episode series, and they burned two with drips and drops of maybe something weird is happening. I mean, we know something weird is happening, but 80% of this was a lot of sitcom filler. I get we needed set up, but these episodes needed to move things along a bit tightly. I guess we'll see how this plays out, but so far I'm a little let down. Not much happened. And the episodes are short, so I don't feel super engaged yet.
I guess my thing is, that while I get wanting to play in the tropes, I also think they’re too attached to trying to really faithfully recreate them, and as a result, so far, they’re not really telling their own story within them. But, it is only the first two episodes so far. We’ve got time and I don’t mean to be harsh.

Thoughts on WandaVision by a non-Marvel fan
As someone who had only seen a single Marvel movie (The Avengers) and only watched Jessica Jones season 1 for David Tennant (while hating nearly every other character in it), which had none of these characters, I only watched WandaVision precisely because it dared to break the mold and be even remotely ambitious instead of doing the same old CGI cartoon fest over and over. And somewhat because of what Marvel has done to the film industry, television has completely and utterly overtaken film as where emotional, dramatic storytelling now happens.
And okay, I happen to have had a major TVLand addiction growing up and binged a ton of the shows referenced in WandaVision long ago (yep, those very same '50s-'80s sitcoms). I couldn't pass up the retro. Love at first sight. Combine that with what promised to be a tragic, human/non-human romance. Sold. I knew little else about the characters.
For a long time, I've seen female fans (in particular) comment on how part of the reason they write fanfiction for Marvel is that they have to read between the lines just to add the implied dramatic content of the relationship focus variety that never quite gets developed in canon (certainly not up to the standard of what a fic reader expects). I saw a few comments that pretty much described WandaVision as exactly that: a fix-it fanfic before tragic reality invaded Pleasantville. Wanda's whole Hex was essentially a glorified fix-it fanfic.
For this reason alone, I can only hope the success of WandaVision gets them to create a season 2 that is dedicated solely to Wanda trying to put her family (Vision) back together that does the tragic romance justice in a way that giving them side parts in other people's movies just isn't going to cut it.
I feel like Vision's ultimate resurrection or even Wanda's struggle with her grief is better left to her own headline story, whether be it film or television. Television is the only medium that is going to allow the actors to really sink their teeth into this sort of star-crossed, tragic drama and not have it relegated to a minor side-character plot. Either give Wanda and Vision their own movie (hopefully, with heightened focus on character development as a lesson learned from television) or wait to integrate the mind and body of Vision in another season that gives both of them center stage with room to develop it.
Them having their twins for real might also be worth a season 2 in a way that probably wouldn't even work on film, as showing such a feminine pregnancy storyline would be a helluva departure for a Marvel movie that goes from action set piece to action set piece.
I wouldn't even hate it if Wanda's sitcom comfort zone made a few more appearances, even if it is merely the occasional domestic fantasy or dream/nightmare, so there is a way to not completely divorce a potential season 2 from season 1's "gimmick". It could be merely as simple as her pointedly doing something Sam/Jeannie-esque with her magic. Cooking with floating kitchen items would be an easy nod.
Probably not what Marvel is thinking of doing, but as a non-Marvel fan, WandaVision has a real opportunity to pull in new viewers with very different tastes that have so far managed to give the films a wide berth. It would do so much better as a show.
Go the route of giving these characters their own headlined projects and Marvel could have a real juggernaut of a 'ship, as well. My impression was that WandaVision got a lot of fans talking about the characters and their relationship in a way that the previous films and comics had not; some even making comments they had barely paid attention to the characters before the show.
IMO, the mere character descriptions sound like some of the most interesting and fleshed-out characters Marvel has got right now with real opportunity for real dramatic depth. And that's putting aside that Scarlet Witch is one of the most powerful characters on the entire Marvel roster. Making a whole television season about a character going through the stages of grief and about a woman who just wants the family she lost back (a woman who desperately wants a husband and children, no less) was very different territory for Marvel. Human/non-human, in addition to having the level of doom that makes tragedies very, very memorable.
There's tropey drama potential there that hasn't been mined with the non-human who becomes more and more "human" (it's the stuff of fairy tales and sci-fi both). Hayward or someone like him could easily be used as a character who doesn't see Vision as equal to humans, for example. Delve into the sort of existential questions about artificial life achieving consciousness no less feeling than a human's that stories like Data on Star Trek, Blade Runner and Bicentennial Man pose. That species difference without the magic of sitcoms could be mined for a gorgeously dramatic plotline. What it means to be human explored through the non-human--one of my favorite tropes.
And of course, it's the stuff of fairy tales--most notably Pinocchio (the once-inanimate learning to and desiring to become real by proving himself worthy and because it fulfills the greatest wish of the person who loves them most), combined with the interspecies romance elements of The Little Mermaid (tragic ending or not--see also the desperate acts taken to achieve this cosmically-denied togetherness, only for such a tragic ending to come of it in the original work).
Given that the MCU movies just lost a bunch of their A-listers, they need something big like this. Marvel needs philosophical and character-driven meat on its meager dramatic bones. Here are two actors who could carry something more ambitious and pick up an entirely different audience. Marvel could get an even bigger female audience with these two, IMO. And it wouldn't be cheap girl power pandering either (I say this as a girl). These characters are legit with incredibly warm, likable, endearing performances behind them. This chemistry works 100%.
I think White Vision having an existential crisis where he's questioning what he is if he has all the memories of a being who clearly can feel every human emotion (the idea that we are our memories), but at the same time knowing that he's only artificial life, would be an interesting lead-up to Vision being fully restored with his full consciousness in addition to the added memories of what he experienced inside the Hex.
A restored Vision would have to reconcile what Wanda did in her grief over him and her family. It's also a glimpse at the life Wanda wants with him, which included something that isn't biologically possible, though it likely is through her own abilities of creation. There's also the idea of balance that he's the one who might hold her back from the brink of going down any further dark paths as a figure of ordered stability for her, while she is key in the chaos of his becoming more "human". The to-be parenthood story is obviously hanging over them.
The situation with Hayward intending for White Vision to remain a mere machine that can be manipulated and used as a weapon in a way that an independently-thinking Vision can't be is also a path to go down. As I said, there's a potential storyline about prejudice regarding artificial intelligence, even if it has all the emotional capability of humans.
And on top of that, Vision is in a relationship with a human, even if it's one who could potentially be the key to restoring his consciousness through her own link with the original Mind Stone. It also furthers Wanda's role as a mother and creator if she can give him back his life in this way. While the heroic Avengers might not question them being "an unusual couple", who says everyone else would be so kind?
I really think he needs to be brought back. Wanda desperately needs him for her story to continue.

WandaVision Wishlist/Theories
Okay, my thoughts have pretty much been consumed by WandaVision, Spider-Man 3, and this whole multiverse. Ironically, when I first heard about a potential multiverse in Far From Home I was relieved to find out it was all a facade. I wanted the MCU to remain an isolated world in itself, I guess not really understanding what a multiverse story could lead to. Now that I have a grasp of what might be happening, I have not only changed my mind but I've fallen into my fanfiction trend of waking up each morning, going through the day, actively going and looking for old news, hoping for a new update of some sort. So my wishlist. Some ground rules first; I'll also write individual wishlists for the others, this is just for WandaVision but also some of the stuff pays off later and I'll talk about that.
Evan Peters Quicksilver. I've said this multiple times so I'll keep it quick. I keep telling myself to just accept a cameo, but I hope he plays a big part, maybe coming back to help in Doctor Strange, maybe bringing his universe's heroes with him. I sort of see Wanda having a breakdown at the end of one of the episodes and doing something freaky with her powers, and it ends on the wham shot of Peter Maximoff asking who she is. I. Would. Scream.
I've also said that I'd be happy if he plays Mephisto as predicted, but now that I've really thought about a Quicksilver.... That might not be true anymore. That being said, I think the main appeal for me at least would be seeing Peters pull out his American Horror Story acting chops. But that's only if it's not Quicksilver, which I don't see why they wouldn't.
Post credits scene. Now I'm not suggesting one after every episode.... Actually, maybe one after every episode. Why not? It would probably get old quick though, but maybe still. Anyways, what if in the final episode, we get a post credits scene of Wiccan and Speed getting reincarnated.
Okay, so you know how there's a dream related song playing from every decade they're parodying? For the eighties, do Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This. There may be a better choice for that, but shut up no there isn't. Plus all that stuff about abuse could be applicable to Wanda's situation with her reality world.
Give Jimmy Woo a boyfriend.
Wanda gets her reality warping/hex magic and is revealed to be a mutant. I struggle to even put this because it seems like a given, but a part of me is still like, 'What if they don't, though.' And I can't accept that. Wanda Maximoff is one of the most powerful beings in Marvel. Act like it. I'm sorry, I just love her and her comic powers so much. That's how you write an overpowered goddess, by giving her a crap life and every reason to just explode. I'm glad Marvel's learning.
Maybe start an episode with a prologue of Wanda's backstory with the missiles and her and Pietro going to Hydra. Trailer breakdowns have determined that at points in the trailer it shows Wanda in her first appearance in Winter Soldier. I'd prefer if, either as a basic flashback or a break of reality causing a hyper real flashback, Wanda relives her powers being unlocked by the soul stone firsthand. This could also be a nod to mutants.
Erik Lehnsherr cameo. In another start of an episode, or the same one, show him helping them out as kids. Maybe even Erik giving them up for adoption. Either Wanda doesn't know he's her dad or she does and hates him. If it's the latter, they joined the Nazis out of resentment, because... Come on. Also, maybe he's raising Lorna Dane post plane crash as a foil to his relationship with Wanda.
Show Wanda's struggle. Since House of M is a major inspiration they should draw from that. In that story, Wanda's powers got out of control due to grief and pretty everyone was all for killing her. I kind of hate that when it comes to god level superwomen, they're all either evil or written like Captain Marvel, obvious exceptions aside. The way you write overpowered is by giving the character no control over the massive abilities and having that as a point of contention.
Two paths for Agatha. A) She’s a villain. Either she works for Mephisto if we go down that route, or she actively encourages Wanda to stay in this strange universe and pushes her on when she has a breakdown. She seems confused but I hope this is either an act, or if not then she just goes with the chaos and uses it to her advantage.
B) Agatha Harkness as a former mentor/mother figure of Wanda's. She seems really confused and not in a fake way in the trailers. Though it could 100% be fake. Maybe the reason she is in Wanda's sitcom world is as she tried to get through to Wanda, like I think Monica Rambeau did. Maybe Wanda's mother was a witch like in the comics (after a shitty retcon) and Agatha raised them after them after their (adoptive?) parents died... Ooh!
Wanda has both magic powers and mutant abilities. Agatha taught her as a child, but she swore it off at some point for some reason. I think I finally understand her powers in the comics, because it never made sense to me, but this does. Simple explanations equal understanding I guess.
Wanda's headpiece. Not as a Halloween costume, but for real that's all. Also I heard someone theorize that her outfit is colored as a sort of couples matching with Vision, which, uh, yes please.
Wanda creates the reality herself, not Mephisto. He still feeds off this dilemma though. She doesn’t know what she’s doing or how she’s doing it, but at some point in the series she realizes what’s happening and decides to devote herself to the false reality, which is when she willingly changes the furniture in the trailer.
As excited as I am for Evan Peters, give ATJ Quicksilver some love as well. I heard that the actor doesn’t want to return to the MCU, which is fair, but still give him some love. And at some point before Evan Peters shows up so it’s not like, ‘Oh yeah, I remember him!’ Maybe a flashback to Wanda before entering the sitcom reality mourning him as well. Maybe sitcoms where everything is wrapped up with a pretty bow is how the twins coped as children. Hell, maybe it was a family thing with dead parents/Magneto/Harkness.
God, I hope that people don’t find this after the show comes out and says, ‘This would’ve been better than that travesty.’ Maybe after the show is completed I could reblog or something to see how much actually came to fruition one way or another. Just the basic wish though, because my brain is too specific for anyone else. Like when youtubers make movie predictions and then play bingo after it comes out.
Edit: Just realizing I didn’t title this... Shit.

What I thought about WandaVision
Y'know, it's kind of crazy to think that it's been over a year since we've been given any content involving the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios announced so many great movies, on top of new TV shows that actually impact the story, way back in the summer of 2019. But then 2020 happened. Resulting in everything, and I mean everything, we were promised getting pushed back for another year. So, when it was finally announced that the series WandaVision was, at last, ready to be released, fans were both excited as well as skeptical. Because the first thing that would reintegrate us back into this franchise would be a show about how two Avengers are stuck in a sitcom. It might be new, long-awaited content, but it also doesn't sound all that interesting. Could a story involving two characters who have yet to stand on their own be enough to carry a brand new adventure? Well, for eight whole weeks, fans were given that answer. And personally, I will admit that WandaVision might have been better than anybody could have ever expected...for the most part.
(Final spoiler warning if you haven't seen the show yet)
WHAT I LIKE
It Just Goes: This is easily the best way the series could have started. We are given no context about what is going on. We're just shown that Wanda and Vision are currently stuck in a sitcom, and that's it. By making it a mystery, fans are given this sort of interaction with the series as they find clues and come up with theories about how and why this happened. Sure, some assumptions were more far fetched than others (did people think Mephisto was confirmed just because of one misinterpreted line involving the Devil?), but it still makes the show a ton of fun to watch. Plus, even when we're given answers, it's only tiny pieces of the puzzle. We're always given a chance to figure out the bigger picture, resulting in an image that is, I'll admit, somewhat satisfying to see. Just as long as you ignore the crybabies who get upset that their favorite theories turned out to be wrong.
The Homages are on Point: I also love how straight the cast and crew play with the idea of two superheroes being stuck in a series of sitcoms. Everything they use fits in the era each sitcom takes place in. With things like camerawork, set design, special effects, acting quality, tropes, and even theme songs, everything works as a proper homage than just having two episodes in black and white and the rest in color. Each new sitcom that Wanda and Vision are rebooted in feels so genuine, to the point where they seem like they could be actual shows that could have existed. Seriously, my dad showed me stuff like The Dick Van Dyke Show when I was a kid, so trust me when I say that the very first episode nails the style that it's honoring. Not only is it charming as all forms of hell, but it also works in making these moments when characters break from the spell (get it) all the more jarring and even disturbing at times. Because when you're so keen on watching what seems like a fun and cheesy sitcom, you feel a bit unsettled when a character suddenly acts in a way that's a tad foreboding. Still, it's fun to watch and is easily the central hook for what makes this show work.
The Comedy: The homages also nail the comedy that came from each type of sitcom. The jokes fit with each period, from the cheesy and charming 50s to the cynical and dry 90s and early 2000s. It's another thing the writers play straight with, and I think it works. The only jokes made by most stories like this are just pointing out that these serious characters are stuck in a silly sitcom. Instead, the writers tell jokes that work for the period it's in, and it is all genuinely funny if you're used to those types of goofs and gags. If you didn't laugh, that's because the comedy isn't trying to reach out to you. It's reaching out to the people who actually watched these types of sitcoms. Or, in my case, the type of people who had their parents show them these types of sitcoms. And even then, I still think there are these lines and deliveries that are still funny even if you don't get the joke. For example, there's this brief moment with Vision and a toy baby that got a genuine chuckle out of me for how absurd it was. I wasn't expecting to laugh that much, but on top of the many surprises this show gave, being funny was definitely one of them.
“My husband, and his indestructible forehead”: He...hehe...hehehehahahaHAHAHAHA! AH! HA! HA! HA!
*Slowly starts sobbing*
>Squeaks<
I see what you did there.
Paul Bettany as “Vision,” “Vision,” and Vision: Can we give Paul Bettany a round of applause for basically playing three different characters, each with their own varying levels of emotions and purposes? Because goodness gracious, this man is a champion! I've seen tons of people praise Elizabeth Olson for her performance as Wanda, and to be fair, she does do a fantastic job...aside from one blatant issue (which I'll get into later). But as great as Olson is, Bettany still deserves some credit. Throughout most of the series, he has this level of comedic-timing that I didn't even know he was capable of, by going ham or just having a dry wit. Seriously, was someone going to tell me that Paul Bettany can be funny, or was I supposed to find that out for myself? On top of being hilarious, Bettany delivers such raw emotion that none of us would have ever expected from this character. That screaming match “Vision” has with Wanda shows the very first time that any version of him has ever been angry, and Bettany does a great job at making that moment as jarring as it needed to be. And that's just from playing one version of the character! I didn't even talk about how he nails the naive yet still wise Vision from the flashback in "Previously On" or the cold and robotic "Vision" from "The Series Finale." Bettany has range, and WandaVision is a great show that proves how. One just needs to have the right amount of vision to see it (HhhhhhhhhhhHA!)
Developing Wanda: But as great as Paul Bettany, and to a lesser extent, Vision, is, Wanda Maximoff is clearly the star of the show here (And yes, I know that it's Wanda who's the character and Elizabeth Olson is the actor, but...I'll get into it!). If WandaVision has taught me anything about these Disney+ shows, it's that we are finally going to get some long-awaited development to characters that are starved from it. And Wanda definitely needed it. Don't get me wrong, Wanda was great in past movies but wasn't that compelling of a character. Here, trust me when I say that the opposite is true.
We are given a deep dive into not only Wanda's morality but also her psyche. The writers really play around with how scary Wanda can be. As well as questioning if Wanda has the capability of being evil. Because, yeah, what she did was not right. True, our "heroine" was going through some rough s**t, but that doesn't excuse the amount of torture Wanda put the people of Westview through, no matter how unwittingly. Just look at that scene where everyone grills Wanda about what she's doing to them, not only pleading for whatever compromise they can get and even begging for her to kill them instead. That is dark! That is the darkest concept the MCU has ever offered, and the ending of Avengers: Infinity War exists!
But, while it doesn't entirely excuse everything, there is a reason why Wanda did all of this. You see, throughout WandaVision, Wanda goes through the five stages of grief. It all starts with denial as she pretends to live in a sitcom that she created where Vision is alive, and they get to even have kids together. Soon comes anger when she destroys anything and physically harms anyone that tries to bring her back to reality. Next, there's bargaining as Wanda strengthens her hex and expands it to keep outsiders out and keep Vision in. This leads to depression as the weight of all of Wanda's actions finally sinks in, and she's forced to realize the damage she's causing. Until all of it ends with acceptance, as Wanda finally, finally, gets to say goodbye to Vision. Something she never really got when Thanos ripped the mind stone out of Vision's forehead. It's both incredible to watch as it is fascinating. Wanda, through the course of her own little spin-off series, just went from a decent character to one of the most intriguing to dissect in the MCU. And we have this show to thank for it.
The Commercials: These commercials offer three things.
They're more homages to classic television, each product and filming for each one honoring how commercials looked in each era.
They offer more of an insight into Wanda's psyche as we see how each commercial shows bits of her history, regrets, and deepest desires. You see all of the above in the Lagos' paper towel commercial.
There are neat bits of foreshadowing of what's to come, like how Hydra Soak ends by saying it's for "your inner goddess" or how the 90s commercial ends by saying Magic isn't meant for the weak.
With all of that, these commercials are as fun to analyze as they are disturbing as hell.
The Dinner Scene: This was the moment it was clear that WandaVision wasn’t going to just be fun and games. The second that "Mr. Heart" starts screaming at Wanda about why she and Vision came, it becomes clear that the whole wacky scenario our heroes are in isn't as harmless as we all thought. And when "Mrs. Heart" playfully tells her husband to stop it when “Mr. Heart” starts choking, only to desperately scream at Wanda to stop it, audiences begin to piece together that the people of Westview are prisoners--no--victims. As for Wanda? She's the unknowing dictator forcing them to do what she says. And it was this scene that I knew I was going to really enjoy this show.
The Blip Scene: And it was this scene that made WandaVision skyrocket into top-tier MCU territory! As much as I love Spider-Man: Far From Home, I will admit that making a joke with the concept of something like the blip might not have been the best move. But showing the chaos of everyone coming back all at once? On top of showing the confusion that a person would have from being told that a five-second nap was five years? Yeah, that's more in line with what we want.
Returning Characters: Not only was I surprised by the fact that these pretty minor characters in the MCU made a return at all, but I was also shocked to find out they work better in this series than they did in their respective movies. First, there's Monica. Not only is she reintroduced as a brand new hero (with, admittingly, confusing superpowers), but she also works as the anti-Wanda. Both characters had someone they care about dearly die without getting a chance to say goodbye. The difference is that Monica doesn't have the abilities Wanda does and is instead forced to quickly accept that her mom is dead and won't come back. She even admits that she would bring her mom back if she could. But that just makes Monica the perfect person that Wanda needs. A person that understands where she's coming from and tries to convince Wanda to do the right thing, no matter how hard it is. Monica's methods may have been a tad bit sloppy, but she is still ten times more intriguing than that little girl who screwed around with the color scheme on Captain Marvel’s suit.
Then there's Jimmy Woo, who is both funnier here than in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and actually shows signs of being a competent FBI agent. A step up, I might add, from the hilariously incompetent character we saw in his previous appearance.
And also, Darcie is here...and still slightly annoying...but at least she still has a couple funny lines here and there! Which is more than I can say with Thor and Thor: The Dark World.
In my opinion, it's a good move having these characters with pretty small roles in vastly different stories make a return. It shows that they are not limited to their one little corner of the MCU. And that they can branch off into taller tales that suit them perfectly. It's pretty cool, and it makes me wonder what other small characters could make a triumphant return.
Billy and Tommy: These two are...fine. Billy and Tommy give me Zach and Cody vibes sometimes, the kids playing them do a decent job, and they both offer some great emotional moments. The problem is that out of the list of characters that WandaVision introduces and reintroduces, there's not much to talk about with Billy and Tommy. Honestly, the only reason why I briefly mentioned that I like them is that I don't want dozens of people crucifying me for not saying anything about them. I don't hate them, but I don't much care for them either.
Evan Peters as Quicksilver: Although I would have loved it if it was Aaron Taylor-Johnson who made a return, seeing Evan Peters in a good Marvel movie again is more than worth it. He plays a much more fun version of Quicksilver while still nailing the sibling relationship the character has with Wanda. In a way, it's a lot like how Marvel cast J.K. Simmons as J Jonah Jameson at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. It's admitting that no one could have played the character better than this one actor and briefly making fans happy in the process. While also not doing something crazy like having it be the exact same Quicksilver from the X-Men movies. Only f**king idiots would believe something like that...
...
...But hypothetically speaking, let's say some people were stupid to believe that. While making an outrageous claim that the writers "lead them on to doing so." In which case, I will say the same thing that one would say when friend-zoning someone: "Nobody led you on to s**t. You were just too busy focusing on what you wanted to see instead of what you needed to see."
Because there was no evidence that it was the same Quicksilver other than the fact that it was the same actor. And, hypothetically speaking, if there were dozens of crybabies who were upset about it not being the same Quicksilver, then I have so much more respect for this character being nothing more than a boner joke. Because you did this to yourselves...hypothetically speaking.
Retconning Wanda’s Powers: ...I'm ok with this. Retcons happen all the time in the comics, as well as in movies and television. It's just a matter of making the retcon believable enough where there are few holes in what you're telling people. As for Wanda apparently having magic this entire time, but the mind stone amplified her powers? I can buy that. Besides, it's an acceptable excuse to make Wanda as powerful as she is in the comics (from what I've been told), so like I said, I'm ok with this.
“I can’t feel you…”: ...That's fine. I didn't need my heart anyway.
“Vision’s” Talk with “Vision”: Forget the horrible CGIed battles. I want more of this!
Now, I put both Visions in quotation marks because while they're both the same character, they're also...not the same. Which is, funnily enough, what this scene is: A philosophical discussion between two versions of the same android about what makes them both/neither the definitive version. One may look the same, and the other may be the same body, but neither "Vision" really is the true Vision. However, the fact that these two stop their fighting so they can have this discussion in the first place helps secure that while different, they are still the same. It's a thought-provoking discussion, and it is ten times more interesting to watch than Wanda and Agatha's CGI fight in the sky. Although it is kind of odd that White-Vision just peaces out the second Hex-Vision gives him a reboot. But hey, that's for the future movies to deal with.
“Thank you for choosing me to be your mom.”: >Deep inhale<...Girl.
Wanda Saying Goodbye to Vision: >DEEPER INHALE< HOOOOOOOOOOO BOY! I did not expect this much emotional turmoil from f**king WANDAVISION!
Joking aside, this is a well-handled scene. It's incredibly emotional to see these two characters say goodbye to each other as their arcs come to a close. "Vision" peacefully leaves knowing who he is in the world, and Wanda can finally start moving on as she gets to say goodbye to her one true love. It's as bittersweet as it is beautiful.
WHAT I DISLIKE
MCU logos flashing in every episode: You know how CinemaSins has this bulls**t excuse about how the MCU opening logo wastes time to get to the good stuff? This is the only instance where that's applicable. Because the opening logo was cool to see again for the first episode, but having it play in every single one after breaks the immersion when trying to binge the series. It's for a couple of seconds, sure, but after a while, it does get pretty annoying.
Elizabeth Olson as Scarlet Witch: Now, to be clear, I have no problems with Elizabeth Olson's acting ability in this series. She juggles being funny, heartbreaking, and threatening so well that I am likely to laugh and cry with her as I am to s**t my pants while in her presence. Elizabeth Olson does a great job with this character. The problem? Well, in the comics, Wanda Maximoff is Roma, and Elizabeth Olson...isn't. This means that WandaVision, and the MCU as a whole, has a bad case of white-washing.
I could go on about the issues this brings, but I am not as educated about this subject, and all I know is just stuff that seems like common sense. For instance, I believe it is more than reasonable to hire an actor of a specific race or ethnicity for a character who is of a that same race or ethnicity. But that is as far as my knowledge and personal stance goes, and to expand on it would be too much of a risk because I have no right to criticize the representation of something I am not a part of. So instead, I'm going to point you to @earnestdesire‘s blog and Jessica Reidy’s article on the subject. They do a great job at discussing the issues with Olson’s Wanda and pointing to the issues the MCU has in representing Wanda and Pietro's representation in the comics. And they do it in a far better way than I ever could have. So check them out to truly see why, despite doing a great job, Elizabeth Olson should not be the person donning the suit.
It Was Agatha All Along: AND I STILL F**KING HATE THAT!
I know, I know, I am in the minority on this one. And I still don't understand why! To me, Agatha has all of the problems that Hans has in Frozen. Sure, there are hints if you pay more attention during a few select scenes that are slightly questionable. Like how she refers to Wanda as "the star of the show" or coincidentally shows up with a dog house for Sparky. However, much like how Frozen didn't need a villain like Hans, WandaVision didn't need a comic book villain like Agatha. The story was perfectly passable as a personal conflict involving Wanda's grief where the only obstacle was the director of S.W.O.R.D. and his agents. There is nothing Agatha adds to that.
"But she helps Wanda find out what happens!" Yeah, but Monica could have done the same thing by actually breaking through to Wanda and calmly asking what happened. From then on, they could have worked things out together by having Wanda retrace events that transpired through the information that Monica knows as well.
"But Agatha helps Wanda realize what she's doing is wrong!" So could Vision! He could have shown up, did that mind-meld thing to the townspeople, and Wanda would finally learn what she was doing was wrong through the person she trusts the most.
"But Agatha helps Wanda learn that she's the Scarlet Witch!" Ok...but did that need to happen in this series? Because when you think about it, when the central conflict is all about exploring Wanda's grief, throwing in this narrative about becoming the Scarlet Witch has little to do with anything. Meaning that if you cut it from the story, little would change other than cutting a CGI battle that everyone agrees is the worst part of the series.
The most Agatha adds to the story is a secondary conflict that could easily be cut, and the overall quality would stay the same, if not better. And that is a problem. Agatha needs to add to the central conflict in a way that no other character could have. Like, give her a reason to be involved in Wanda’s life that goes beyond feeding off her magic and leading Wanda to her destiny. Because as is, even if you argue that Agatha is a good twist villain, she's a villain that really didn't need to be here.
Director Haywood: But as much as I don't like Agatha, I think we can all agree that Director Haywood is the worst villain in the MCU. Because one issue that Haywood has is a lack of motivation. For instance, why does he try so hard to write off Wanda as this supervillain? It was never explained, and for something so bizarre and crucial to his character, I feel like it needed to be. It would be passable if he was motivated out of fear and ignorance, but Haywood goes so far as to misedit security footage to prove his point. And I don't get why.
Is he sexist?
Did Wanda not show up at his kid's birthday party?
Did he secretly want to use Vision as a sexbot and didn't want Wanda to get between them?
I don't know, and I'll never know.
Plus, on top of having no motivation, Haywood is just forgettable. Agatha may piss me off to no end, but at least I'll remember her. I honestly forgot Haywood's name half the time, and I'm willing to bet that you did too. Case in point, his name isn't even Haywood. It's Hayward. And in the off chance that you didn't even know about that misspelling just proves my point about how forgettable Hayward is. While it's one thing to be hated, it's another to be forgotten. Because that just means that you left so little impact that you aren't even worth getting upset about.
------
And that is what I thought about WandaVision. If I had to base this off my usual score, I'd have to give the show the same 7/10 that everyone else gave it. Because there's a lot that I love, but the stuff that I hate is so problematic that it takes the WandaVision down on a couple of notches. It's still a fantastic series with a solid story, a great message, incredible acting, and phenomenal character development. It's just that not everyone is going to be willing to tune in as much as you might think.

More Thoughts on WandaVision Trailer
After watching the trailer numerous times, studying gifsets and stills people have made, and reading some other people’s ideas, I have more to add. Certain scenes are poking at my brain more than others.
Still in no particular order.
- The scene where Vision and Agatha are talking at her car. Vision is wearing his wedding ring (yay!), but Agatha is also wearing a wedding ring. I am far from an expert in the comics, so if anyone knows better correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall Agatha ever having or mentioning a spouse in any of the panels I’ve seen of her. This could mean nothing, but it kind of makes me think that something else is going on there (plus the hysterical laughter). It makes me think that she could possibly be someone else who only appears to be Agatha. Something just doesn’t seem right there, but I don’t know what.
And why was Agatha frozen? And how did Vision know how to wake her up? I also noticed little circuitry lines going through her head when Vision touched her, which could just be a result of his powers, but that doesn’t seem right to me either.
- The scene in the field with all the agents. Every time I see it, I keep thinking it is several scenes edited to look like it’s all one scene (which I know is common in trailers in general and Marvel has a history of lying in trailers). I can’t really explain why, but I just have a feeling that something else is going other than what it looks like.
It looks like Monica being pushed out of the world by Wanda’s powers and landing in the field with all the agents. However, in one of the shots, it looks like it might be Monica standing with all the agents. I just don’t know.
- I love that Wanda and Vision seem to be given about equal time and attention in the trailer. Maybe the initial shots being so Wanda heavy were just because they didn’t have the CGI finished yet. I just want them both to be given the love and care they deserve, have good arcs, and end up alive and happy and together.
- I’m glad there wasn’t too much focus on the twins. I still hope the show focuses mostly on Wanda and Vision themselves.
- The scene where Wanda is in 90s grunge she’s wearing blue and grey, which seems to be a fitting nod to Pietro.
- As others have said, I think there’s a good chance that Vision is real in these scenes!!!!!!!!!!!!
- There are a few scenes where Wanda and Vision seem kind of over-the-top happy, in comparison to other scenes where they are happy but more in character. I’m thinking mainly of the dancing in the 70s scene and the facing the camera smiling wildly in the 50s. I think that could be part of a rapid-fire montage of all the different time periods combined where they keep acting more and more crazy, and where everyone realizes the sitcom world isn’t real and it crashes around them.
- I’m still thinking this is not all Wanda’s doing. It may be wishful thinking talking, but something still seems off.
- The fact that the neighbors who are interrogating Wanda and Vision are named Mr. and Mrs. Heart seems odd to me. I don’t know if I have anything useful to add to that observation, but it just seems strange.
- I was looking at the IMDB page for WandaVision, and in episode four, there is someone credited as an “orderly.” Now, my first thought when I saw that was someone working in a mental institution (which I dearly hope not). It could also be someone working in a regular hospital setting, i.e. when Wanda gives birth to the twins.
- I forgot we were getting NINE whole episodes, as opposed to the 6-8 we orginally thought. Yay!!! More content!
I’m sure there will be more forthcoming.

i feel like of all the teased disney+ marvel shows that were announced way back when i was really only excited about wandavision. i’ve loved wanda since age of ultron, i thought she had a ton of potential. i think that wandavision explored that the most. at least in a sense that didn’t rely on her being the big guns to turn a fight in favor of her side. [ tho who is exactly meant to be able to take her on is never clear to me. people have just been lucky that she’s not really a combat person, so like okay. ]
my issue with wandavision from the jump was how they used the sitcom as the framing device, especially the first two episodes that were largely just sitcoms that sorta introduced hints that there was something larger at play, but that’s already two episodes out of nine that establish where we are sure, but also limit the remaining time to tell this story that is is so crucial to the mcu that both doctor strange and the multiverse of madness + spider-man: no way home are tied to it. it’s a show that’s not unimportant in nature and that was announced going in.
the show has now gone on to give us two episodes of flashback context 1.03 gave us the s.w.o.r.d. stuff [ and also killed off maria rambeau... bc i guess we can’t have nice things? ] and now 1.07 gave us some agatha context + a series of clips that partially retconned info we had prior to wandavision but also gave us more of an understanding of how the Hex came to be.
the more they explain about the hex and about wanda though the less things start to make sense for me. in wanda the mindstone seemed to unlock great potential and she saw a vision of the scarlet witch, which is apparently a witch legend???? okay. fascinating. though why that vision of the scarlet witch would resemble the costume from the comics when in the show they made that same costume that of a “sokovian fortune teller” [ i’m not going to get into how elizabeth gave interviews slurring romani people bc i’m not equipped to have that discussion. i understand what the costume was supposed to be and how it’s a problem ]. that’s a choice™. but also the implication that it unlocked potential in wanda, but killed everyone else, but also gave pietro his powers seems to be laying the work to retcon wanda as a mutant, which again doesn’t seem to make sense to me now that you’ve introduced agatha. i guess wanda was a mutant in the comics with her witchy ways, but why have wanda be a mutant if she’s not the daughter of magneto and after having to watch her parents die i’m not sure i want those people to be retconned out of existence either. i dunno, but before this show i would have thought that such a retcon wouldn’t happen and now i wouldn’t be surprised at all.
back to the witch thing. i think that after the first doctor strange came out is when kevin said that what wanda was doing was magic, but she wasn’t as trained in it and that was why her powers appeared they way that they did. now we have agatha, who has been alive for like four fucking centuries and is clearly knowledgeable in what she is doing and her magic looks nothing like doctor strange’s magic and is just magenta wanda magic, so what’s the real story there? if anything that lends to the idea that stephen was out there in asia just appropriating and it’s more indicative of their way of practicing magic than anything to do with having less control. make it make sense kevin bc the math is not mathing,
the worst aspect of the show is hayward and his television level motives of trying to bring vision back to life. some people have suspected that this is how kevin feige could bring in sentinels into the mcu. my only exposure to them was in days of future past bc i’m not a comics person. i do not understand the obsession this man has with vision. i do not care about sentinels at all. i find the concept to be boring quite frankly. i do not care about a suit of armor surrounding the world. this world already tried that? what was age of ultron and tony’s iron legion if not the privatized version and if not for ulton we wouldn’t have need of the sokovia accords. for me this is retreading ground we’ve already done. i don’t care about them. i don’t really care about vision coming back to life as a tangent of this.
edited: to include this last little bit about hayward, that it makes no sense that hayward was able to track the radioactive decay of the vibranium if vision was simply an illusion that didn’t actually exist? like? i mean i guess you can do whatever you want in your own little fantasy world. in the context that hayward gave us, of wanda stealing the pieces of vision’s body it makes sense bc vagaries, but in the context that you have no idea that wanda has created vision until you can see the show why would you then think that that vision is also made of vibranium or that you could be able to track it if it you had all the pieces? but also if you have all the pieces what is the point of creating an all white model and tearing vision to pieces that don’t look like they can be reassembled? like? none this of this actually makes sense. most of all if you want actual sentient weapons, which is what the avengers are????? and like half of them signed the accords so like... this man is a made for tv villain.
so between the two episodes that were just straight sitcoms and the two flashbacks that leaves like 5 episodes of actual story content, and i won’t say that it’s all be lacking. [ i have quite enjoyed the monica rambeau content ] but so much of it is nods to things because the show is constrained into this odd short run time that for me really only proves that we coulda had wandavision the movie. the bits and pieces that were given to us here could have been a two hour and some change event that might’ve made more narrative sense and would have felt better than watching this show slowly become more of a let down for me personally for two months.

Ducktales: Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks! and Quack Pack! Review/Thoughts
Hello errybody, I’ve decided being a huge fan of this verison of Ducktales, and someone who likes reviewing stuff and going on and on at length about it, to review this season’s episodes as they come out, both to get me writing critically again, and to get more non chat content on the old tumblr.  First, while you likely don’t care a little about my history with the ducks; While I , sadly though i’m trying to correct it, haven’t read MUCH of Carl Barks classic donald duck comics nor that of his avid fanboy and clear sucessor in quality and talent Don Rosa, I did read Rosa’s utter classic “The LIfe and Times of Scrooge” mcduck in high school and the story stuck with me sense. I’ll go into Life and Times another day hopefully, but naturally when the reboot was announced I was excited.. a great voice cast, and donald,my boy, as part of the main cast. The show has been a joy to behold and with steven universe having taken a bow JUST a week ago and Covid ravaging our lives, it coudln’t of picked a better time. But do these episodes keep the momentum from an utterly marvelous second half of season 2? The short answer is “Fuck yes” but the long answer is under the cut.
Challenge of the Junior Senior Woodchucks! While “Challenge of the x” is a popular snowclone title I can’t help but think of superfriends with the title... or now I thought of it shortly before writing this, hearing “Meanwhile at the legion of doom” when they cut to fowl.. or rather “Meanwhile at FOWL” but in that same announcers voice. I”m a dork, that should be obvious But I was hyped for both episodes: Violet is a faviorite mine, I ship her with huey so them interacting for the first time was wonderful to me, and.. okay the subplot didn’t hook me and we’ll get to that, but we had her dads and one of my other faviorites (I have several, get used to it now) , Lena , at least putting in an apperance. And honestly.. the main plot lived up to it. As I said I didn’t really dig the sub plot, more on that in a second, but I REALLY enjoyed this. From the begining Huey was my faviorite of the three triplets, easily, as it’s fairly easy for me a grown ass dork with anxiety, self confidence, anger issues, depression and constant self doubt, to relate to a little duck with the same and I’ve loved Danny Pudi since community, so naturally I was excited for his turn for a spotlight season.  And again the show didn’t disapoint.. Huey has a rather decent arc with some unexpected turns: First unexpectly, the trailer lied as while Huey and Violet look ultra competiive, theirs no real confilct..s econds after that bit the two shake hands (after a good 20 seconds of adorable and hilarous failure to do so that fits both like a glove.), and try to be good sports. The problem is instead internal: As Huey muses to his siblings (Webby very much included, getting her own great bit of encouraging Huey while also assuring Violet she’s also great he just needs it more, which is accurate) “If i’m not hte best junior woodchuck who am I”. Like Louie last season towards the begining (when he didn’t have a clear purpose in their adventuring dynamic) and towards the end (When della nearly took it away from him), he’s nothing without his sense of who he is. It’s easily why he’s the one to comfort him when his other siblings are either torn between two friends or you know, Dewey. Louie knows what it’s like to be rattled about who you are.  And WHY Violet outclassing him rattles him so much is intreating and to me makes a ton of sense: Huey’s identity to me is so wrapped in his intellegence and woodchuckery because , besides being oldest, it’s what he HAS on his brothers. When you think about it, Louie is the charmer, Dewey is charsmaticin his own way and loves hogging attention not to mention being fairly athletic... to stand out Huey NEEDS his brains to be the one with facts, and plans and his book.  He may not be the first on the front lines but he’s the first to solve a trap or figure out where they are if scrooge or his mom hasn’t already.. and if someone’s markdely better at that, and worse in an activity that’s wholy his own and now it’s been revealed impmortant to his mom.. just who is he.  The poor kid simply breaks down at the thought and takes bigger and stupider risks, which is sad to watch.. and thankfully lightned by his delightful mental brekadown in the form of the stephen root voiced JW Guidebook, a talking hallucination who gives huey his knowledge and edge back in the contest.. but it’s STILL not enough. And that’s when the other intresting bit comes into play: Huey.. has a moment of weakness. Despite the guidebook saying to always save your fellow woodchucks when violet gets stuck slipping in a tree.. he does nothing and leaves, despite JW  , whose now become his concious, begging him not to. It’s a sad, well done moment, and one that makes the story richer. Naturally violet escapes and when huey falls off the lava bridge to the finish line in a nother moment of desperation, and after a returning JW burns because apparently ducks and sabrewings are fireproof but imaginary manfestations of knowledge arne’t, she saves him... and is a good friend and woodchuck in NOT chastizing huey for his moment of weakness earlier, but comforting him, revealing she’s tried three times before and adding some more depth to her character: Despite her awkardness with people, she’s a kind, caring person, and gives Huey the lesson he needs: faliure, and the ocasional bout of moral weakness, is okay.. what matters is you learn from it, dust yourself off and keep going. Huey bows out due to this, as while violet is more than willing to let him pass with her, Huey knows he hasn’t earned it, yet, but he can keep trying and that this is her moment, not his. And in that, I feel learns that he dosen’t NEED recognition to be his best self.. he just needs to be a good person and a good woodchuk. I’ts a damn fine story and despite not being the intended premire, works as a great one.. mostly. And also yes I ship them.. as much as two ten-elven year olds can be, but they are adorable and geninley have a good repore.  And before I get to the dispaointing subplot, i’d be an idiot if I left out Violet’s family: We meet her dads, hilariously wearing shirts that say i’m with dad which is also really fucking adorable, and have our first onscreen conformation that Lena’s now her adopted sister, with Lena loudly screaming it in one of the best lines of the episode.. it’s clever to me: it over the top makes sure that we know yes, these men are gay and her parents.. but in a needed way given disney’s tendncy to dance around that or loudly proclaim a minor character no one cares about is gay in a way they can edit out. It’s a great step forward for the channel and the company and good on the crew for going ahead with it and good on disney for not beign dumb about it, nor, like again they have a bad habit of doing, loudly shouting about it to the media. Excellent work.
Now i’m done rambling about Huey’s psyche and america’s new faviorite gay couple, I gotta get the suplot out of the way: while the whiporwill is freaking adorable as is dewey’s bond with it, otherwise this plot is.. really damn weak: it has some good jokes (Louie’s blunt no when Scrooge asks if hte family wants to fight a bear, Webby’s disapointment when she finds their not walking in the path of literal giants, Donald’s runner with the spy drone mosquito (and Della’s instiance to just let it suck his blood), and Della proving she has the family temper with her own donald brand angry dance) it’s just.. not enoguh. It feels like it’s an oblogiatory plto for the family and while it does set up the season’s overaching plot with a strong character, as it’s intresting learning that Scrooge had an idol at adventuring and thus is following a legacy himself, overall the subplot itself is just there and distracting from the much more intresting A-Story. That being said it was at least sorta worth it for the ending bit where huey and violet suprisingly find launchpad at the end of the trial in a cave.. as do the duckfamily, both groups crying out “Launchpad?!” with launchpad giving out a hilarious “that’s me, i’m launchpad” and while the setup for it was weak, the idea of the family going around the globe to find missing mysteries wile fighting fowl over them is a great concept. Overall a really damn strong start to the season with a weak b-plot and i’m gald even if this isn’t what htey planned to start with it’s what they went with.  Quack Pack: Quack Pack.. is one of disney’s secret shames.. I mean it’s not SO secret as it’s on D+ while this show’s predecessor wonder over yonder and superhero fantasy classic american dragon jake long are not for reasons I sitll don’t get, but that’s a rant for another day. It clashed badly with ducktlaes, was meiocre most of the time (It helps the two episodes I did watch were donald focused as he, a nicely redeisgned dasiy, and their co-worker kent were the highlights), with the boys somehow being more obnoxious than they were at their worst in the original ducktales.  Now that’s off my chest the episode itself.. is really damn good and a nice take on sitcom parody, with the family getting ready for a photo. Dewey’s “since the internet” line in paticular killed because, having watched boths ome of the best sitcoms (roseanne, designing women) and some of the absolute worst (My wife and kids, last man standing, home imporvment etc), most modern ones i’ve seen, even the good ones, have kids written this terrible way. Otherwise though it was highly enjoyable and having Jaleel “Urkel/Sonic the Hedgehog” white here to take the piss out of his former genre as Gene (and doing such a great job I really want to see Gene back next season), is the icing. That and Huey going half insane trying to figure out what’s going on, as well as the unsettling reveal of the studio audience.  Really the ep is a laugh fest, as well as the glorious arrival of goofy who to my relief, wasn’t a hallucination.. which itself is a great gag as is the offscreen internal thought of “okay so now htey ahve to take goofy with them on this deadly adventure all the way back to the states?”. The using of the adults old designs, as well as having dewey do the triplets dance and wear an outfit similar to theirs from “Mr Duck Steps Out” (Which I saw earlier this year and other than daisy’s horrifying early voice it wasn’t half bad). It’s just hard to go into and throughly enjoyable. But analysis right the real meat is in my boy donald: Going into the ep I genuinely expected Dewey to be the obvious source of the wish: while knowing gene was involved meant it was easy to see it was his fault HOW was a good question.. but having Donald do so and throughly enjoyable, and naturally gives us two great gags int he rwo: Donald’s VERY donald response “I wish for that 6 times a day! how wsas I supposed to know I was rubbing up against a magical lamp” and everyone spouting off their catcphrases, all either actual ones, basically something she does all the time turned into one (della) or poor beakly who gets “i’m not a spy” for some reason an dis cross about it. But the fact Donald not only figured it out quickly but wants to stay.. is perfectly in character. Donald in general, and especailly here, dosen’t WANT to be an adventuer anymore: he does it for his family, but he’d probably perfer the tgif lifestyle where problems are minor and solved with heartwarming lessons.. not full of lingering restiments, damage you caused, or loosing a decade of your sisters life and having to struggle to care for her kids. The rest of the familys looks when he gives his reasoning say it all: they really get why he wants this.. but Huey, who nicely got to be the one to break the sitcom news to them on top of everything else, makes an even better one: their lives are who they are.. this.. isn’t real. LIkea tgif sitcom it’s a plastic imitation of life that’s nothing like it: it’s comforting sure since hte real world is fucking complicated and miserable at times.. but hiding from it dosen’t fix things.  And while Donald, of course angrily denies this while his family ends upf ighting the studio audience, it’s Goofy, loveable guest star and everyone’s other faviorite dad, who gets his friend to see the truth: eveyr family has thieir own normal. He and max are  widower and his kid. Just a family of three (I”m counting PJ since , by his tene years at least, Peg is missing, though Iw ish she’d come back as her and goofy would be cute and she deserves better than Pete but whatever, and his dad is an emotionally abusive douchehead). But their happy, they make memories even if goofy like donald can’t walk five feet without the universe, and that’s what counts> it’s a touching sentiment and i’m happy Donald now has a friend whose also a parent and probably made similar sacrifices, and some Donald hasn’t had to just yet and probably won’t now dellas back, but made it through. So donald helps his family fight the  humanoids, take sa picture and it’s just a genuinely sweet ending... a great episode with a great concept that also opens the door for the return of the world’s other best dad more times. And again I want to see him smooch pete’s ex wife. This is the hill I will die on apaprently.. and with that I leave you. it was a good start a fun thing ot dive into and I hope for more.. oh and before I go, while i’m not a GIANT max and roxanne shipper, Idon’t dislike the ship I just don’t hav ea large attachment, it was absolutley WONDERFUL to see that they went to prom together. Okay i’m done, until next week, courage and stay safe.

Days With You / Chapter Two
Title: Days With You / Chapter One, Chapter Two
Pairing: Clementine x Louis
Word Count: 1770
Summary: Louis and Clementine are trying to keep their new relationship a secret, but they’re not doing a very good job.
A/N: I’ve never been to a bar what’s it like, also aye finally got part two up let’s get this bread
-
It was so obvious, it’s like they weren’t even trying to hide it. With all the subtle touching, bashful looks and just being in constant state of awe with each other, their supposed “secret” relationship was already failing. Everyone shared quick glances, biting their tongues to stop the oncoming laughter everytime Louis and Clementine did something cute.
Aasim coughed to break the silence, reminding Clem and Louis that there were other people around them. “You guys ready to order?” He threw a menu at Louis, who completely ignored it.
Louis cleared his throat, trying to keep a straight face. “There’s no rush my dude, I get the same thing every time-”
“-the nut mix with a glass of Lemon Lime Bitters,” Clementine finished for him, instantly biting her tongue from embarrassment, his order was something no one else in their group had bothered to learn. They all felt it second-hand, except for Louis who just gave her a smile full of sin. Clementine just ignored everyone and stared intently at the menu, despite the fact she wasn’t hungry.
It got quiet again after that, really quiet. Luckily it was karaoke night and a group of drunk young guys decided to sing Under The Sea, making the group laugh in unison. Their over-the-top dancing brought tears to Louis’s eyes. “They are butchering a marvellous song!” The artist in him soaked in pain.
“At least they’re out there having fun,” Violet teased. “You think you could do any better?”
Louis was offended by her lack of belief. “You know who you’re talking to right? I could outplay those guys in my sleep.”
Marlon shoved Violet with a little too much force. “Don’t tempt the guy, it’s hard enough keeping him quiet in Music class as it is.”
Louis was already bouncing in his seat like a giddy child. An opportunity to give them the old’ razzle dazzle? The temptation was too real. “Maybe later, I’m going to the bar to get my nut mix,” Marlon stood to join him, wanting a quiet moment with Louis. They squished through the tight crowd of people. Of course, they had to go on Ladies Night. Marlon awkwardly tapped his foot against the wooden floor as Louis tried to get the bartender's attention amongst the crowd of drunk women. “Can I ask you something Lou?”
“Whatever it was I didn’t do it,” He babbled, already having a brief idea on what the question would be. “Please don’t say it, please don’t say it-” He prayed to himself.
“-Is there something going on between you and Clem? You’ve been acting extra weird since we left the carnival if that’s somehow possible.”
“Fuck!”
Louis eventually got the man's attention and quickly told him the order. He and Clementine made a promise to each other on the Ferris Wheel to keep their budding relationship a secret until they were ready for all the questions and jokes they knew their friends would bombard them with. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Marlon was dissatisfied with that answer but knew that continuing to press him would result in nothing, perhaps a game was in order? Something that Louis understood. “Hey, who's that guy talking to Clem?”
Like lightning, Louis lifted up his head to look at their table, seeing that she was only talking to Omar and Brody. His chest grew heavy with the realisation that he gave Marlon exactly what he wanted. “Not cool dude.” Louis wanted nothing more than to punch his lifelong friend in the dick. Marlon, however, felt a sense of pride having beat Louis at a game for once, even if their walk back to the table was lacking their usual jokes.
“I vote we kick Marlon off the island,” Louis hissed as he sat on the stool beside Clem. “The tribe has spoken!” He slammed his drink onto the table, some of it spilling onto the rickety table.
Marlon kicked him in the shin. “It was a harmless question, Lou.”
Their tension was felt by everyone at the table. “Everything okay?” Clementine asked.
“Yea, just curious about us,” He whispered to her.
Clementine hid her face in her sleeves, her and Louis certainly weren’t doing a good job of hiding their relationship. The feeling was still fresh for her, for both of them. They were riding the high of their conversation on the Ferris Wheel, buzzing off each other’s energy. God never had anything made her feel so girlish and giddy, she had to bite her tongue to stop the squeals.
The next hour flew by without another mention of the two, instead focusing on the brave souls who sang their hearts out on the stage. The kids would still often look back at Clementine and Louis, smiling at how happy and content they were near each other. Such hopeless suckers in love.
Violet, however, was fuelled by her curiosity. How could everyone be so calm about this? They've all been waiting for this relationship since 11th Grade! Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands…
She tapped a love-struck Clementine on the shoulder, bracing herself for the whiplash she was about to receive. “Hey, Clem, are you and Louis fucking?”
The true Violet way, blunt and to the point. Kinda.
Clementine wanted to climb into her sweater and disappear forever as what Violet asked started to sink in, bringing out a roaring laughter from everyone but Clementine and Louis.
Louis threw one of Mitch’s chips at her nose. “What the fuck is wrong with you Vi?”
“So many things,” Violet smirked like the little imp she was, basking in the intense shade of how red Louis’s cheeks were. It was like they were a new colour. “You gonna answer my question or what?”
Neither of them wanted to answer, but if it meant getting their friends off their back, not that they were or had ever...flipped. This was so much worse than them not knowing. Clementine raised her head, shooting everyone daggers. “Louis asked me on a date when we were at the carnival.”
Violet, Aasim and Marlon stretched out their hands, embracing the money Brody, Mitch, Omar and Ruby gave them. “We made a bet before going to the carnival on who would make the move first,” Aasim smiled down at his ten dollar note, glowing with pride. “You have both been all other each other since high school.”
Louis couldn’t find any words. This was so ridiculous! Had life suddenly turned into a sitcom? Some over-the-top story? “Am I really that predictable?”
It was a choir of ‘yep’, ‘like clockwork’ and ‘yeah pretty much’ from everyone, even Clem joined the tease train, earning a raised eyebrow from Louis. He turned his head eerily slowly to her, causing her to stifle a laugh.
Two can play at that game. “Oh, you’re teasing me now? You’re the one who kissed me on the Ferris Wheel.”
He slammed his hand over his mouth as soon as their secret escaped his mouth, and by the look of Clementine’s face, she was ready to rip his throat out.
“You guys what?!” Screamed Marlon. His best friend? Kissing his other best friend? WHAT?
“Shit,” Louis mumbled into his sweaty palm. “I mean...nothing happened we are all children of Jesus.” He gave everyone a sheepish smile, one that everyone loved so much.
“Fuck off I’m the only one who can make bible jokes,” Violet had earned the right after attending years of bible study with her obnoxious cousins. “Why didn’t you guys say anything?”
“We wanted to keep quiet until we were ready for the jokes and comments you guys would make.” Clementine skulled down the rest of her water, eager to relieve the crack in her voice. It always happened whenever she was embarrassed.
“Guys,” Marlon grabbed Louis’s shoulder, giving him a sense of hope. “We’re going to make fun of you no matter what.”
A false sense of hope.
“We’ve been shipping you guys since high school,” Brody admitted, giving them a bashful smile.
Both Louis and Clementine felt slightly relieved that the worst was now over. Feeling a wave of confidence soar over her, Clem planted a brief kiss on Louis’s cheek, which sent the table into chaos as Louis dramatically swooned into her arms
-
“You ready to go Vi?”
Clementine swung her car keys around her finger, eager to sink into her bed. Violet was focused on a shooting star flying across the rich sky, wishing for Minnie to come back safe and sound.
“Yeah, I need to sleep right now.”
Everyone else made way to their own vehicles, except for Mitch and Ruby, who were walking home. A benefit of not living at the university, you save money on gas.
“Clem,” Louis poked her rough denim jacket, feeling the warmth radiating from her smile. “Sorry that everyone found out so soon. I know you wanted it a secret.”
“I don’t care that much.”
Not an answer he was expecting. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t care that people know, if they laugh then fuck them,” She straightened out a wrinkle in the sleeve of his jacket, making a mental note to teach him how to iron. Her hand lingered over his own, finding a simple pleasure in the slight callouses on his fingers. “Goodnight Louis. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Clementine left him wanting more as she slid into her car, driving back towards school campus, their home away from home. Louis’s chest fell with a heavy sigh, he looked like a confused dragon with the vapour coming out of his mouth.
“Earth to Louis?”
He snapped out of his lust-filled daydream, seeing Marlon leaning against his old truck. “Can we go to McDonald's? I really want a frozen coke.”
Louis snatched the keys from his hand. “I’m driving but.” Marlon yanked them right back, no way in hell would Louis EVER be allowed to drive his car. He could barely ride his skateboard as it is.
“Hey dude,” Marlon wrapped his arm around Louis’s neck, letting his free hand run wild in the soft dreadlocks. “You are one sly dog.”
Louis pulled himself free, only laughing due to his ticklish nature. “Now now Marlon. I promise you’ll be the first to know when we get engaged.”
Marlon’s pale ears perked up at hearing such a statement. “What do you mean ‘when you get engaged’?”
“What I mean is,” Louis open his door yet hung out in the cold, looking down the road that Clementine drove down, grin as wide and bright as the Cheshire Cat. “I’m gonna marry her someday.”

Rick and Morty Season 5 Finale Review
https://ift.tt/2YvqrFQ
This RICK AND MORTY review contains spoilers.
Rick and Morty Season 5 Finale
It’s been a while, so let’s first recap the consistent problems with season five of Rick and Morty. Problem one is that characterization feels like it’s either pushed aside in favor of crazy, silly sci-fi nonsense or lost in a muddle of convoluted sci-fi nonsense. Problem two is that episodes are so overloaded with plot and dialogue delivered at such breakneck speed that there’s either no time for jokes or, packed in with everything else going on in these overstuffed episodes, they just don’t land. The missing characterization issue isn’t exclusive to season five, but the lack of laughs is; this has easily been the least-funny season yet.
Now, finally, after a month’s wait, we get the two-part season finale! Does it manage to avoid the problems that have haunted this season until now?
Not really! But some of it certainly looked cool.
“Forgetting Sarick Mortshall”
Though they’re both about testing the strength of Rick and Morty’s relationship and the first does directly lead into the next by virtue of… crows… these really are two separate episodes with two different focuses and tones. This first one is closer to a “normal” season five episode. Sure, it’s got Rick pissing Morty off so much that he goes off on his own anti-Rick adventure (with a dude fittingly named Nick), but, for the majority of the runtime, it’s not handled like it’s all that big of a deal.
Regardless, the inciting incident here of Morty accidentally getting portal juice on his hand, thus creating a portal in his hand that connects to Nick’s thigh is a really clever one. It’s unfortunate that an odd side effect of a series with a premise that allows for infinite sci-fi possibilities is that many concepts, no matter how much creative effort is put behind them, feel like retreads that fall into a similar category (e.g., the season premiere with its Narnia world that evolved at hyper-speed felt not entirely dissimilar from the sequence of Morty living an entire life in “The Vat of Acid Episode” which, in turn, felt not so dissimilar from that time he played Roy: A Life Well Lived). However, this portal in the hand thing feels totally new and fresh.
They get some good mileage out of it too, with some cool action sequences (like Jackie Chan!) and inspired moments like Morty making a dude eat shit, literally, by transferring the contents of a chamber pot by way of the hand/thigh portal system or when Nick takes control of the car Morty’s driving by sticking his hand through Morty’s portal hand. It’s also used smartly in the most effective dramatic moment in “Forgetting Sarick Mortshall” when Morty chooses to destroy his portal connection to Rick by placing his hand on a train track so that it’s severed off, and then drops the hand-portal into Nick’s thigh-portal to kill him. It’s all very clever, well-executed stuff, though, typing it out, it sure sounds weird.
How Morty comes to the decision to sever his hand and connection to Nick is less well-executed. It unfortunately brought to mind the episode with Planetina, perhaps the worst of season five, as in both episodes Morty realizes the person he’s spending time with ain’t so great because—shock horror—they’re cool with killing innocent people! Yes, Morty has a moral core, so it’s not like it doesn’t make some sense, but it’s just that, with the amount of people he and Rick murder out of petty anger or just by happenstance all the time, it feels like they need to sell his change of heart a little more.
The other half of this episode is about Rick replacing Morty with two crows, at first as a joke, but then he gradually comes to realize crows are actually cool and can teach him about empathy. The idea of it is that this “two crows” thing is engineered to be a silly, one-off inanity, but then the joke becomes so much more as the writers sincerely explore the concept. However, it never really successfully elevates itself above its initial inane premise. I still just found myself thinking “What is this crow bullshit? Why crows?”
It’s also becoming a bit of a predictable Rick and Morty staple that characters that appear incidental at first actually have a whole society and way of life we get to learn all about (the face-huggers, the Narnia people, the Chuds). It’s an obvious plot device to return to seeing as this is a sci-fi series about visiting new universes and alien worlds all the time, so it would be irrational to suggest they stop doing it altogether, but did this particular plot really need to go in that direction? The introduction of the crow society comes out of nowhere and it isn’t convincing that Rick decides to follow a path of empathy with his two crows right after he just killed a whole bunch of other crows. Anyway, the only thing that makes the crow plot “interesting” is that the writers commit to it so hard it carries into the next episode.
Season five style, “Forgetting Sarick Mortshall,” is not funny. I chuckled at the very last moment in the tag when Garbage Goober said “Mmm, trash, I love trash” and I smiled at Rick’s (possibly improv’d) rant about watching sitcoms on your shoes, but that was about it. Still, at least there were the aforementioned clever moments and it got a tiny bit emotional when Morty told Rick “I miss you, man” and when Rick admitted their relationship was abusive.
“Rickmurai Jack”
Lore, lore, lore! How do you like it? Hopefully you like it lots because “Rickmurai Jack” is chock full of the stuff!
The Rick and Morty team, however, absolutely hate it! Well, they can’t totally hate it, or they wouldn’t have bothered to make this episode, but they definitely have an acrimonious relationship with continuity and canon. Dan Harmon has stated before that giving Rick a tragic backstory would ruin the character and Rick himself reaffirms that opinion in the episode. In fact, the writers can’t help themselves in breaking the fourth wall throughout to remind us how much Rick hates canon and how it’s better to “keep it episodic.”
It’s understandable why they resent canon. It’s got to be much easier to write one-off, funny sci-fi adventures than to sustain serialized plots told over multiple episodes. Unfortunately for them, way the hell back in season one Rick and Morty destroyed their universe, killed alternate universe versions of themselves, and took their places. The series kept this plot point intact, referencing it later, and also gradually made Morty’s character more jaded in response to this, as well as the many other horrors he witnessed. In other words, they made this canon bed and now they have to have adventures in it (I know how this sounds and I’m fine with it).
Before it gets to all that serious canon, however, “Rickmurai Jack” has to honor the continuity of the previous episode by tidying away the stupid crow plot. The continuity is certainly sound: the crows weren’t funny in the last episode and they’re not funny in this one either! There’s an anime intro. There are villains whose names flash on the screen in big letters. There’s an arch-villain named CrowScare who has sex with Rick’s crows. Yeah. Fine. At least this part is done away with relatively quickly. (Side note: Odd that Rick becomes a bird-based superhero and yet there is nary a reference to Bird Person.)

Rick and Morty Season 5: Bruce Chutback Gets the Show Back on Track
By Alec Bojalad
After this, the episode maintains the season five status quo by continuing to be unfunny. I don’t believe I laughed at this one at all, although I liked Evil Morty’s line, “I lied. That second seat’s a toilet.” The lack of comedy is a bit more forgivable, however, as “Rickmurai Jack” isn’t trying as hard to be funny. This really is the loreiest lorepisode they’ve ever done and so the focus is on backstory and continuity to do with Evil Morty’s long-gestating plan.
As one of the annoying nerds constantly complaining that this show doesn’t do enough character development anymore, I know I’m supposed to be thankful for this episode (Rick angrily says as much) and I am, somewhat. It’s cool to see Evil Morty again and to hear his awesome theme music. Personally, I was never asking for Rick backstory and I’m a bit surprised his origins more or less are just the easy answer of “dead wife” after all, but sure, that’s fine. More profound and fucked up is the origin of all the Mortys in the multiverse, engineered by Ricks to be the perfect sidekick.
I just wish all this development hadn’t been given to me, season five style, in such volume at such speed. The fact of the matter is I was straight-up confused about what the hell was going on sometimes. I understood Evil Morty’s plan enough to get that he’s extricating himself from the cycle of Ricks and Mortys (and maybe ending the cycle forever?), but where did he fly to? Did he kill every Rick and Morty ever except our protagonists and whoever they escaped with or just everyone in the Citadel for some reason? Did he remove all portal fluid from the multiverse? I also lost the plot of Rick’s backstory, not understanding why he was going around killing all these other Ricks until I watched it back and realized he was going after the Rick who had killed his wife and kid Beth; I still feel it could’ve been more clearly presented though. Also confusing was the sequence in Rick uses some of his blood to create Big Boy(?) who… transfers power to Rick when he’s attacked… or something?
Look, I know how this goes. I’m a stupid moron and the nerds in the comments will be more than ready to let me know that everything that was confusing to me was, in fact, completely obvious, duh-doy, and here’s why and I should stop watching the series, and so on, and so forth. However, something I’ve always marveled at (as I did only two episodes ago) with Rick and Morty is, despite how crazy and layered its ambitious plotting gets, I never lose track of what’s happening. So, either my very high IQ is dropping points or this shit was kind of confusing.
Regardless, it’s appreciated the creators of this show finally gave in and threw a bunch of continuity and canon in my whining face. It just would’ve been nicer if it had been delivered in a clearer way that was easier to process and to feel something about. Like, every time Evil Morty has appeared in the series, he’s been an intimidating and chilling presence. I did get chills when his theme song kicked in this time, but that was more of a Pavlovian response earned from his previous appearances. Otherwise, I was just bewildered by all the information being chucked at me. Still, if nothing else, it was certainly a cool-looking spectacle.
What’s best about this episode is what it sets up for the next season. Who knows how long they’ll stick with this, but it’s implied that Rick is out of portal juice, which makes him that much less god-like and which could maybe, finally, reintroduce some actual stakes into Rick and Morty instead of every episode being about a sarcastic unstoppable murderous sci-fi family. I truly do look forward to that.

The other best thing is Mr. Poopybutthole’s profound advice that we should be brave enough to love the people who love us back. Thank you for your wisdom, Mr. Poopybutthole.

10 Marvel Comics You Need To Read Before MCU Phase 4 | ScreenRant
With so many Marvel Studios projects in development, it might be time for a refresher course. Between sequels, new properties, and a handful of new television series on the way, Marvel fans have plenty on their plate. However, if you have a few blind spots in your Marvel knowledge or simply don't read comics,  this list should help fill some blanks. For this list, we've compiled some landmark Marvel comics that correspond to the next few Marvel projects.
Never read a Moon Knight book? Who are the Eternals, anyway? Don't worry, here's some recommended reading to prepare you for the onslaught of content that Marvel Studios has up its sleeve. Here are 10 Marvel Comics You Need To Read Before MCU Phase 4.
RELATED: 10 Characters Who Should Probably Retire From The MCU Soon
10 Black Widow: The Finely Woven Thread
Tumblr media
Based on photos, casting, and rumors, there isn't any one Black Widow book that the film is based on. Seeing as the movie is setting up to be an amalgam of trademark Black Widow elements, this modern-day classic might be a great spot for new readers to jump on board.
The Finely Woven Thread by Nathan Edmondson and Phil Noto is the gritty spy thriller that fans of the movies have always wanted. Between Edmondson's compelling mystery and Noto's painterly art, this is a must-have for Black Widow fans and new readers alike.
RELATED: 10 Characters Who Should Probably Retire From The MCU Soon
This story probably won't reflect the plot of the movie, but it shows just how compelling a Black widow solo adventure could be (and has been in comics for decades now).
9 The Mighty Thor: Thunder In Her Veins
Tumblr media
With Natalie Portman's Jane Foster gearing up to wield the hammer, fans should probably pick up Jason Aaron's work on Thor. She has her first adventures as Thor in Aaron's Thor: The Goddess of Thunder, but for a while, her identity was a secret. However, the reveal of Jane Foster as Thor has created a new fan-favorite for many and one of the most compelling character arcs in Marvel's recent history.
RELATED: 10 Other MCU Characters Who Might Be Worthy Of Wielding Thor's Hammer
The Goddess of Thunder is a great starting point, but fans that want to skip the mystery should pick up The Mighty Thor: Thunder in Her Veins. This story arc begins a true epic that fans will want to read in full. Not only will it have you in tears by the end, but it also helps set up one of the better recent crossover events, War of the Realms.
8 Moon Knight: From The Dead
Tumblr media
Moon Knight, arguably the most underrated Marvel character in existence, is finally getting his own series on Disney Plus. If you've never heard of him, let Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey's From the Dead be your introduction.
Who is Moon Knight? He's an ex-mercenary with multiple personalities possessed by a moon god. He fights anything from mobsters and robots to vampires and ninjas. The Marvel universe is a crazy place, and From the Dead shows how Moon Knight can tackle any corner of it with style and brutality.
This run is an anthology of different Moon Knight stories, and between Ellis' trademark wit and Shalvey's kinetic artwork, it'll hook newcomers with ease. If you feel compelled to read further — and you will — check out the runs by Charlie Huston and Jeff Lemire.
7 Neil Gaiman's Eternals
Tumblr media
For most movie fans, the Eternals are a bit of a mystery.  The Eternals are essentially evolved humans — ancient prototypes of humans created by Celestials, which fans will remember from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Marvel legend Jack Kirby created the characters, but for a modern introduction, check out Neil Gaiman's Eternals.
RELATED: 10 Ways The Eternals Movie Might Connect To The Wider MCU
His series contains the cast of the upcoming film as well as the official (retconned) backstory of the Eternals. It's quite likely that this book is the basis for the movie as well, so definitely pick it up.
6 Hawkeye: My Life As A Weapon
Tumblr media
My Life as a Weapon by Matt Fraction and David Aja is the basis for Marvel's upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney Plus, right down to the show's title card. It deals with Hawkeye's life outside of his career as an Avenger, as well as the training of his apprentice, Kate Bishop.
RELATED: Hawkeye Disney Plus: 5 MCU Characters We Want To See Return (And 5 We Don't)
Hawkeye's somewhat-but-not-so ordinary life is a lot more compelling than you might think, and once you read this series, he'll likely become your favorite Avenger. It's got great action, witty humor, and some pretty innovative issues — entire books are told through sign language, and one issue even stars his dog.
5 All-New Captain America
Tumblr media
Now that Cap has passed the shield to Sam Wilson in Avengers: Endgame, fans won't being seeing him again until The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus. Can Sam Wilson fill Steve Rogers' shoes? Well, he already has. All-Captain America by Rick Remender is Sam Wilson's first adventure as the winged Captain America.
In the first arc, Sam Wilson must thwart an emerging Hydra threat while living up to his new mantle. This series is proof that Sam is the man for the job, even if fans aren't ready to let go of Steve Rogers.
4 Ms. Marvel: No Normal
Tumblr media
As a nerdy superhero fan from Jersey City, Kamala is so familiar with the Avengers' antics in New York that she even writes fan fiction about her favorite heroes. When she acquires Inhuman powers, she names herself after her idol, Captain Marvel.
RELATED: 10 Things You Should Know About Ms. Marvel
Kamala is already a well-established character with plenty of different appearances and team-ups throughout the comics, so where better to start than from the beginning? Ms. Marvel: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona contains her origin story and is a must-read for any Marvel fan.
3 She-Hulk: Single Green Female
Tumblr media
She-Hulk is more than just female Hulk. Jennifer Walters is a character that not many people are familiar with, but unlike her cousin Bruce Banner, she actually enjoys being the Hulk. A great entry point before her Disney Plus series is Dan Slott's She-Hulk: Single Green Female, where Jen must balance her life as the Hulk with her very demanding career as a lawyer.
RELATED: 10 Storylines Disney+'s She-Hulk Series Could Use
She's not a scientist like Bruce, but a lawyer in the emerging field of superhero law. Naturally, superhero lawsuits come with plenty of cameos and crossovers, but this is very much a She-Hulk story that manages to stay breezy and fun while distinguishing Jen Walters as her own unique character.
2 House of M and Vision
Tumblr media
The Disney Plus series WandaVision is a head-scratcher for most fans, so this entry cheats a little to give readers the best primer.
The concept of the show seems to be based on a combination of two different books: House of M by Brian Michael Bendis and Vision by Tom King. In House of M, Scarlet Witch loses control of her powers and alters reality for the worse. In Vision, the titular hero tries to settle down and have a family, until everything goes horribly wrong.
Concept art for the series depicts Wanda and Vision in an idyllic, sitcom-esque lifestyle, but everything is not what it seems. This suggests influences from both of these excellent stories, so definitely check them out.
1 Doctor Strange: The Way of the Weird
Tumblr media
The last two Avengers films prove that Stephen Strange has come a long way since his solo film in 2016. Since his next film is said to be the MCU's first horror movie, it might benefit fans to pick up a comic where Strange is experienced and more than familiar with the scariest aspects of magic.
The Way of the Weird by Jason Aaron is Strange is his absolute strangest. For him, protecting reality is just another average day, despite some of the creepiest and most grotesque threats always knocking at his door. Chris Bachalo's art makes this an especially unique read — if you want to see what a Doctor Strange horror movie might look like, then look no further.
