The original Human Torch is so weird. He's unconscious, but fire tries to protect him on its own, like it's a person. Remember, he's a robot who bursts into flame when he touches air.
Still makes more sense than the powers they give Johnny.

You mean you could have put out the forest fire at any time?!

So, the moral of this story is that a bomb that can destroy a whole city is bad and can only be used for bad? The plans should be destroyed?
Interesting conclusion for a WWII story to have, given, you know, how America got involved.

Marvel Mystery Comics (1939) #6
At this point Jim has the power to just have a quick scream and tell flames "hey cut that out!" and they would just stop burning! I bet he would have liked to know he could do that around marvel mystery comics #1 👿 I'll be very interested to see how long this particular piece of lore lasts.

Marvel comics in chronological order of release!! part 6 (No longer doing by days because I work 30 hrs a week and am a full time student as well, aint no way i'm getting to this regularly)
Marvel Mystery Comics #4
Human Torch - i enjoy the little side plot of the detective thinking he murdered the person who's actually just a made up identity
Angel - I think the Angel is honestly just some guy? Like he's not noted to be stronger and faster than any other person could realistically be
Sub Mariner - does his skin actually turn blue underwater or is that just supposed to be the lighting? I enjoy namors criticism of war being "to satisfy the arrogant egos of a few stupid governments"
Masked Raider - very straightforward. felt like it might be shorter than usual?
Warning Enough - i mean it exists, it calls itself a mystery, but I don't really think it falls into that genre
Electro - did this guy just make a private police force??? precursor to iron man mayhaps?
Ferret - i don't know if its cause im tired but i didn't pick up on any of the plot in this story. Also some of the dialogue boxes were just in the wrong order? So like you read the answer to a question before it was asked
Ka-Zar - beginning to really hate this one, how does it keep getting worse?
I cannot wait until these start shifting to like 25 pages long, one story each instead of 65 pages with like 10 different stories to keep track of

In the possessed doll au, Bruce is definitely a creepy kid.
This is, after all, a haunted au.
He looks like a 'murdered victorian child' kid. Even before he watched his parents die.
Like, very big pale blue eyes. Significantly more striking /pos as a smiling adult than a perpetually blank faced unblinking child. He looks like he knows how you die. Pale skin, ink black hair traditionally styled, big dark lashes to frame those uncanny eyes. Just the hint of eye bags.
Alfred in any timeline has a spine of steel, but there must have been at least once when he was woken up in the night to a tiny shape staring unblinkingly deep into his eyes and thought 'I am going to die'. Normal kids are absolutely terrifying to wake up to, as any parent will attest, but imagine being an ex military spy now butler living alone on the most cursed land you've ever imagined, taking care of the only kid after your employers, his parents were brutally murdered, and suddenly you jolt awake in the middle of the night to see two enormous eyes less than a foot from your face, two engorged dots for pupils, staring, still as stone into your very soul.
Bruce, hushed because it's bedtime: Mr Alfred I threw up :(.
Alfred, trying to calm his thundering heart and not reflexively shoot his ward, dizzy from the sudden adrenaline from deep sleep rush, not letting himself freak out in front of the boy:.............................. Oh dear. That's not good.
Bruce, still not blinking or looking away: :(((
Wayne manor is a setting from a murder mystery at night, and it's not Bruce but Alfred that's the main character.
Perhaps, he thinks, it was always going to end this way. Not because of fate, but because the characters of the play would not know themselves to act otherwise.
@puppetmaster13u may I present?

The problem with being a fan of both Gambit and Tim Drake is that their respective comic companies have no idea what they're doing with my favorite characters.
Gambit has "LOOK, A MYSTERY! How does he know legit everyone? This information is a surprise tool that will help us later!" except they never ever reveal what the mystery is because they don't know either. Which has basically been happening since his origin in the 90s.
Tim Drake hasn't had a unique storyline since 2009 with Red Robin (yes, I count the 2022 Tim Drake Robin because they backtrack him into Robin). In the Red Robin comic series, they establish that Red Robin is essentially punishment for him, Tim's only really been special for his role as Robin, and this is a transition period to get him elsewhere. And then they just NEVER gave him anything else. He's STILL Red Robin. Sometimes he's back to Robin and sharing the mantle with Damian, which is WORSE.
Writers, I love my characters. Please stop backtracking their character development IN THEIR OWN COMIC RUNS.

i love the idea of marvel bleeding into billy more. like he has bright eyes that reflect flashlights and whatnot, he glows just a little in the dark, he can jump higher and run faster than his classmates. sometimes he writes entire tests in ancient greek and the teacher is both flabbergasted and impressed. he did not even notice he wasn't writing in english. his reflexes are inhumanely fast and he's banned from dogeball. he gets kidnapped on a field trip to gotham and gets shot and fucking. sleeps it off. constantine is going insane trying to figure out what this fucking 13 year old from fawcett even IS to begin with. when asked he says "oh i mean. i guess i'd say im aromantic? but i'm not sure" constantine wants to kill him

Quick runthrough of the other comics. Human Torch! This is a TERRIBLE plan!
Tumblr media
He shows his real face here, so that's not good for his secret identity, but it's not like they're taking pictures of him with their cellphones, so it's not that big a deal.
Tumblr media
Damn, that's a pretty harsh image, but it's even harsher that those thieves are just going to blow up this town for no reason.
Hey, if they only stole the plans, did they build the bomb themselves in a few minutes before fleeing?
