Today was the first day in over two weeks that my #InterstitialCystitis didn't have me either running to the potty sixty times during the day and night or rocking back and forth like I just escaped from an asylum. It's kinda nice. 😉 So I did some low key tidying projects, such as taking everything out of my desk drawer to be sorted and (some) put back, and then folding all my plastic bags into nice tidy triangles instead of just stuffing them into another bag that takes up a lot more space. The little folded bags are also great to put in your glove compartment, trunk, and purse. I also made a new recipe - a Taco Pasta Salad. I saw the recipe on FB and modified it to fit my dietary needs. Major #WhatAboutBobbing happening with this meal. Gonna make this again. The last pic is my new (but used) book. A FB friend suggested that I would enjoy this quite a while back and I legit had it in my Amazon cart for over year. Just lurking. The hard back of this book cost over $200 soooo, that didn't happen! Happy birthday to me! This shoot was on a cold day in late December, just before New Years. I know I look pretty tall but I'm actually only 5ft 3.5in tall, or 161.29 cm. My weight is pretty low because of mast cell disease and my legs are long so I look a lot taller in photos. This month I will be doing the #chronicillnessandme challenge! 😸💖✨Today’s prompt is #mystory, so I decided to share one of my first attempts at a #hospitalglam pic from 2015 that I never posted. My whole life I have experienced fatigue, pain, and other symptoms that I struggled to communicate to anyone. I thought everyone physically felt the way I did, and that I was lazy. I was diagnosed with these conditions over the years, in this order: depression and anxiety, then fibromyalgia, then Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, then Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, then Borderline Personality Disorder. In the process of seeking answers, I was shamed, gaslit, denied care, and invalidated by so many doctors and mental health care professionals that my distrust of my own experiences grew exponentially. Thankfully, in the past 2 years, I have had the privilege to be a patient with knowledgeable EDS/MCAS specialists and mental health programs, and I am getting better at managing my own health every day! I share my experience to remind myself how far I have come, and in the hopes that it might provide guidance to others living with chronic illness. This is just one vial of my #xolair injection. I’ve already received the first one today. I get two vials once a month for my #mastcellactivationdisorder it’s been a helpful expensive little thing. Today we’re doing it over 3 hours instead of 5 cause the time before that one I went into #anaphylaxis one time out of 8 not too bad. Here's my attempt to recreate that Rumbi dish. I chopped multi-colored carrots, 1/2 an onion and sauteed them with garlic and olive oil. Then I added the yellow squash. I cut up the tofu, put it in the pan and added a little gluten free tamari and teriyaki sauce. I cooked rice last night so it was ready to go. A bit more teriyaki sauce, some red pepper flakes, heat it all through and we have a BINGO. Serve it in a bowl my Brudda brought from Korea. Also, leftovers in my "Freezes Beautifully Section." Doctor said she didn’t think I was in her scope for treatment—I come with too much for her private practice to handle. It’s been years since I’ve had a doctor refuse to treat me because my angioedema and mast cell activation syndrome are so extreme. Big sigh. 😔 Mast cells are on fleek and body’s been in crisis mode for months! Can’t tell you how excited I am to finally get this round of Prednisone started. Believe you me, takes a lot for me to do the steroid thingy, let alone look forward to it! Now back to home to heal and rest. Day 24 of the #chronicillnessandme challenge! 😸💖✨Today’s prompt is #peoplewhohelpme 💕 I decided to make the prompt about my number one supporter: my wonderful partner, Jeff 😘 Jeff believed me from the very first time I started to open up to him about my symptoms. He was with me at every appointment during my search for a diagnosis. He was there after each appointment, when I had horrible anxiety attacks; he comforted me and told me I was brave. He was there with me for every round of Xolair injections for the first 6 months, when I was scared and needed lots of distraction to get through it (top left picture is from one of my Xolair injection appointments). He always assures me that it is okay for me to rest when I need it. He gives me neck massages for my headaches, including the times when I tell him there’s no point; and he’s right, it is soothing and healing and worth his time even if the headache doesn’t go away and I’m still unable to sit up. He helps me practice my distress tolerance skills. And so many other things.
