Hiiii! I was wondering if you have any resources for Mesoamerican mythology that’s good? Can be a website or book or anything really. Trying (desperately) to reconnect with my culture.
Hi!! So, so sorry for not answering sooner, but life happened lol. I’m struggling finding resources myself, considering that many were destroyed (thanks to colonization), or they were traditionally shared orally within our cultures. Some of the best resources I’ve found are often anthropology and history books, but I highly recommend doing research into the authors as well, and determine for yourself whether you trust them or not. From my own personal list here some:
Books:
Aztec & Maya: The Complete Illustrated History by Charles Phillips
The Oxford World Mythology by David Leeming
Mythology: Myths and Legends of the World by Dr. Alice Mills
Goddess Stories: Discover their mythology by Alison Davies (Has some Aztec and Native American goddesses, a Brazilian one too!)
Deck:
The Nahualli Animal Oracle Deck by Caelum Raineri and Ivory Andersen
YouTube:
Websites:
It’s a small list, but I hope it helps! I’ll also be doing some more digging and try making more posts about the gods of the Mexica :)

"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.” E.E. Cummings Blue Electric Eagle Talon Abraxas Blue Eagle is your Conscious Self - who you are and who you are becoming. Blue Eagle reminds you to step powerfully into your commitment as a planetary server! Your assignment includes whatever furthers your personal evolution and the evolution of global mind. You are an awakener, a transformer, an empowered gloal visionary. In your vision, you have compassion for others, and your decisions are made in the light of global consciousness. Ask yourself how you might experience compassion toward self, the Earth, and others. Be guided towards types of work, relationships, places to live, and projects that will benefit the Earth and her creatures. Allow your spirit to expand. Soar on your spreading wings and planetary perspective. Affirm: "Through your, Gaia, I am also transformed! I am awakening as the return of divine love and light. We are all one. Gaia, as you awaken, I heal myself. As I awaken, you are healed, and together our petals open ecstatically to the new Sun of Flowers." You are a member of the one global family, a planetary server and transformer. Blue Eagle asks you to join in lifting the collective mind. It is up to each one of us to hold a positive vision and affirmation, for the means by which this miracle will occur is through changes in the one affecting the greater whole. Imagine the profound impact your loving thoughts have on planetary mind. You do make a difference! As you connect individually with the larger crystal grid network, your power is multiplied exponentially. This galactic grid is also known as the Mayan cobweb. The greatest gift you can offer to the planet is to simply be the love. Believe in yourself and your dreams and visions! Remember your special gifts, your path of service on Earth, your promise to serve the light. Everything you are connects to the greater whole. You are starseeded! You have the vision of the eagle. Believe in your dreams. You are the hope and the vision revealed. Blue Storm is your Higher Self & Guide. Blue Storm is the initiation by fire, the lightning path, the arrival of the thunderbeings who bring the final transformation. To the Maya, Blue Storm represents the storm, the thundercloud full of purifying rain, and the lightning that shatters any false structuring of reality. Blue Storm is the purification of the 'body temple' and the ignition of the light body. In these last years of a twenty-six-thousand-year Mayan grand cycle, Blue Storm comes to help you in the disintegration process that moves you from separation to ascension. This initiation by fire breaks any false containers of self that cannot withstand the flame of transmutation. Only your true identity will live through these fires, for you will be reborn in the heart of All That Is. Blue Storm provides the water that purifies and quenches your spiritual thirst. In this state of consciousness, you stand willing to surrender everything. You give up what you seem to be in order to become fully what you are. You step into the fires of the unknown, and you are changed forever. These excerpts were taken from the book, "The Mayan Oracle - Return Path to the Stars" by Ariel Spilsbury & Michael Bryner

Write on!: The Invention of Writing
Do you know where writing was invented?
Writing was invented in the regions that are now Iraq, China, Egypt, and Mexico. They all came up with the idea all on their own!
The earliest written language was created about 5,500 years ago. Its alphabet is called cuneiform and was used in a place called Sumer (which is now part of Iraq).
Tumblr media
^ "Dog" in cuneiform, pronounced "ur"
The Egyptians were smartypants in more than just building! About 5,100 years ago they came up with a kind of writing called hieroglyph, where instead of letters each word is represented by a picture.
Tumblr media
^ "Dog" in hieroglyph, pronounced "iwiw"
The earliest known version of what became Chinese is about 3,200 years old, and is found in oracle bones used to read people's fortunes. This kind of writing was called Jiaguwen.
Tumblr media
^ The word for "dog" in Jiaguwen. In modern Chinese the word for "dog" is pronounced "gou".
The Maya of Mexico borrowed the idea of writing from an older culture called the Olmec, who invented writing about 2,300 years ago, but we don't understand Olmec writing yet.
Tumblr media
^ The word for "dog" in Mayan was pronounced "ok".

Divination | Scrying Mirror
Another tool for divination, gazing into a mirror in a darkened room to catch a glimpse of the future or other possible signs.
Tumblr media
“Through the Obsidian mirror.” or “Black Mirror scrying.”
Obsidian: Mysterious and powerful, this volcanic glass forms when molten lava is quickly chilled upon making contact with cooler air or water. For its unstable structure it is not counted as a crystal, but is in included in crystal collections due to its practically palpable energy.
Obsidian was discovered 2000 years ago and one use was using it for mirrors, it was important to Ancient Mayan and Aztec people and they used black mirrors in many of their rituals.
Tezcatlipoca an aztec deity whose name means ‘smoking mirror’ was depicted with obsidian in his headdress.
Associated with ROOT Chakra: Excellent form of grounding whenever your feeling disconnected
Said to protect against negative energies by absorbing them and blocking any negative vibes.
Prepare your space. Find a dark quiet place, or be it night. Place a candle. Stare into the candle flame [Sure, and I’ll stare directly into the sun after. That wont burn any retainers sure] Light incense if thats your thing. Sit in a comfortable position. Focus on your breathing with your eyes closed or open. In out. Breathe. Empty your mind [unless you have adhd then your fucked]
Peer into the abyss. [Into the unKNOOWWN] feel a sense of calm or relaxation begin to take place. Then gaze into the Obsidian mirror. Keep an open mind, and make a mental note of whatever ideas, flashes of inspiration, or objects come up for you. Its okay not to understand them in a moment, you can revisit them later.
Try to maintain this state for fifteen minutes. Or as comfortable as you feel to continue.
End your session, there are no rules/guidelines on how you end your session. But mentally grounding yourself and blowing out the candle as you say it is done. Be careful when moving in the dark. If you have a journal or writing tool, write down everything that is still vivid from your session, while your thoughts are still fresh.
To charge and consecrate a scrying mirror or stone:
 Make an infusion of the herb mugwort, and while it is still warm, strain it. Bathe the stone or minor in the infusion while quietly chanting nine times: Lovely oracle of magic worth a fair creature of psychic light. The truest answers, you shall bring forth, you shall be my eyes, my sight. As you are chanting, envision the mirror or stone awakening to you and your own psychic abilities.  A Path to a door:  Seek ye earnestly, until ye find a door. Some will say it is here, others say, over there. Another will say, pay me & I will open it… Keep Notes in ye booke,  That ye remember well Where thou searchest & What treasure thou hast found When ye find it, ye will know…it will be open easily.
______________________________________________________________
HOW TO SCRY WITH A BLACK MIRROR
PREPARE YOUR SPACE AND GATHER YOUR TOOLS
It is widely believed that it is best to scry at night as the practice is closely tied to the energy of the moon. Plus a calm, dark night is perfect for focusing as there are fewer distractions around. Whether you are inside or outside, it’s best to find a dark, quiet place with as little light as possible.
Make sure you have your scrying mirror, candle, and if you’d like to write about your experience, a journal and pen. Light your candle (and some incense if that’s your thing) and place it out of your direct line of sight but where it is still visible on the surface of the black mirror. Some prefer to place the candle immediately in front of their mirror or even stare directly into the candle flame. Try different places and arrangements to find what you like best.
START WITH A BREATHING EXERCISE OR MEDITATION
Next, settle into a comfortable seated position and begin to focus on your breath with your eyes closed or open. In and out. In and out. Each time try to breathe more slowly deeply filling and emptying your lungs. Let the thoughts of your day and to-do lists drift away. It’s okay if they come back, let them move across your mind's eye and drift away again. (As I said, this will take some practice and your first session isn’t likely to be perfect.)
Black mirror scrying in obsidian orb
PEER INTO THE ABYSS
You may at this point begin to feel a sense of calm and relaxation that indicate you are entering a more trance-like state. Now it is time to focus your gaze upon the Obsidian scrying mirror. If your eyes were closed, slowly open them. If they were already open, shift your gaze to the inky black surface.
Maintain a soft gaze that allows the mirror to remain just slightly out of focus. Keep an open mind and make a mental note of whatever ideas, flashes of inspiration, or objects come up for you. It’s okay to not understand them in the moment, you can revisit them later.
When you’re first starting out try to maintain this state for at least 15 minutes. As you grow more comfortable, you can scry for longer periods which may allow you to reach further inside yourself and gain greater insights.
END YOUR SESSION
When you’re ready you may end your scrying session. There are no rules or guidelines around how you may choose to end your session. I personally like to close my eyes and say ‘it is done’ before blowing out the candle and slowly beginning to move out of my seated position. Be careful when getting up or moving around afterward to avoid tripping in the dark or feeling light-headed.
If you brought your journal and a writing tool, write down what you saw or any thoughts that came to you during your scrying session. It’s best to write things down while your thoughts are still fresh.
Black Mirror Stands
THE BENEFITS OF SELF-REFLECTION
If you’re feeling a bit skeptical of the magical aspects of working with crystals and scrying, there are several very non-magical benefits of practicing self-reflection. Self-reflection leads to a greater sense of self-awareness.
A heightened sense of self-awareness makes it easier to make decisions, allows you to communicate more clearly and honestly, can lead to less stress and anxiety, improve your sleep, and strengthen your relationship with others. So, if you haven’t found other means of introspection helpful, it can’t hurt to try one that falls a little outside your comfort zone. Remember, scrying is a tool and humans wouldn’t have reached this state of modern civilization without tools. [Source]

Introducing myself and giving an explanation.
Hi everyone! 🙋🏻‍♀️
My name is Ana, but you can call me An or Annie.
I'm Mexican.🇲🇽
I like many things like animals, read history, classic novels, esoteric stuff and magic, manga, watch anime, belly dance, music, tv shows and movies, videogames.
Some of my favorite things are:
Animals like felines and canines (ALL OF THEM!), bats, hummingbirds, crows, rabbits, bears.
History:Ancient Egypt (everything about that time), and other historical periods (Middle ages, Ilustration era, Victorian era).
About the cultures of my country I love the Aztec (Mexica) culture, Mayan culture, Toltec culture and others.
My favorite books are:
The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Other books I love that are on Spanish are "Cuentos de la selva" (Jungle tales) by Horacio Quiroga
"El Diosero" by Francisco Rojas González .
About the Esoteric stuff, I'm a Tarot and Oracle reader, I learn and practice Reiki, I love quartz, rocks and minerals for spiritual, magic and therapeutic uses, talismans and charms, candles, dowsing with pendulum, astrology.
Anime I like Yu-Gi-Oh, InuYasha, Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon, Card captor Sakura, Record of Ragnarok, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z (just to mention a few).
I'm not a belly dancer, but I really enjoy belly dance (oriental dance). I practice at home by the moment. I hope I could go to a dance academy someday.

And my favorite band is Guns N ' Roses.

My favorite films are Alice in wonderland (animated and Tim Burton's version), The Prince of Egypt, Beauty and the Beast, The Mummy and The Mummy returns, Hitch, School of Rock, The Nightmare before Christmas, Sam Raimi's Spiderman films, Star Wars franchises.
My favorite shows are Looney tunes, Powerpuff girls, Arrow , Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn 99, House M.D , E.R, White collar, Supernatural, Charmed.
This last year, I've been watching a lot of K-drama. I'm really enjoying it.
Videogames like Castlevania ( I like both, videogames and the Netflix TV shows), Halo, Mortal Kombat, Devil May Cry for example.
I had a Tumblr account with the same name before. It was fully dedicated as a fan blog of Castlevania. Many of the things that I had were some of my silly memes about Castlevania Netflix (most of them about Alucard).
I deleted the account because I was very inactive here and I felt a little bit limited by just post about Castlevania.
Sometimes I reblogged the nice drawings of friends that are here, sometimes I shared about ancient Egyptian history, but not so often.
After deleting the account, I didn't feel well about leave this place, so, I decided to create an account and start all over again.
I want to use this place to connect with people that enjoy the same things that I do.
So, I hope find again the cool friends who are still here, but at the same time, find new friends.
With the time, I'll be re-posting the material of Castlevania that I posted before, just in case there's someone interested.
For the last, I want to share some pictures of my favorite things.
Thanks for your attention.
🙏🏻✨

In ancient Greece, Delphi was believed to be the "navel of the world," a place of immense religious and cultural significance. This belief was associated with the omphalos, a sacred stone believed to mark the center of the universe, and was located in the sanctuary of Apollo.
Elaboration:
The Omphalos:
The omphalos, a stone monument, was a symbol of Delphi's central location and was considered the "navel of the Earth".
Mythological Significance:
According to Greek mythology, Zeus sent out two eagles from opposite ends of the world, and they met over Delphi, marking it as the center.
Religious Center:
Delphi was the site of the Delphic Oracle, a major center of religious practice and prophecy, visited by people from all over the Greek world.
Symbol of Unity:
Delphi served as a symbol of unity for the ancient Greeks, with various city-states building monuments there, according to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
Cultural Importance:
The belief in Delphi as the navel of the world reflected the cultural and religious importance of the site, making it a major pilgrimage destination.

Leto bore Apollo and Artemis, delighting in arrows,
Both of lovely shape like none of the heavenly gods,
As she joined in love to the Aegis-bearing ruler.
— Hesiod, Theogony, lines 918–920 (written in the 7th century BCE)
~~~
Omg it reminds me of Cooke
He used to come and drop off little piles of meth at my desk at the homeless shelter when I was going at it for days
He always brought me blue jay navel oranges and left them at my desk
I couldn't tell if he was trying to tell me something or if it was just subconscious drone behaviour
~~
other story I love about him
Went on a date to the Japanese gardens in my car and was just vibing out so hard listening to my mixes and raving about all this stuff and he got so antsy he cleaned my entire car and then on the way back he asked to stop and AW and he went inside and took a long time to come out and I just got this wave of energy telling me to get the fuck outta there so I ditched him and drove off
Turns out he ditched me at the very same moment
I think it's love
Neither of us were mad vuz were like wow that's so funny it was kinda a turn on
Synchronicities mane
Alas he vanished like all my hobo boyfriends
It's like the shelter is a bad place to pick up men or something
Whatever I remained a virgin maiden cuz I was too busy blogging to give them any attention
Sonny
At least he fixed my mayan amulet for me
youtube
I thought it was odd that I had a playlist about his late mom's birthday
White horse
Can I get a knight next time
Hmm
I could tell he felt something for me when I told him about my saga of being the perpetually rejected 3rd party that gets discarded and shut out. He swore there wasn't anyone else but i felt he was lying. I don't care I just want the truth. Same story as usual. No trust. He was so quiet.
I guess I'll never know what that strange piece of metal he gave me was for. He said I would know when the time is right but I immediately lost it.
Mysteries, mysteries. flail.
Story of my life. He was always trying to organize my skyrim inventory for me because I was perpetually digging through my bag.
Tumblr media
I tell ya I need to go to diagon alley and purchase a bag that magically is like a clown car that contains my pack rat collection but then produces the exact item I need instantly when I reach into it. Like my playlists. Why can't real life be like that too.
[second week of December 2024 memo] Know that I got alot of great ideas coming about this week for the foreseeable year, so stay tuned for the Odysee/Mastodon updates fairly soon. (a hint, it is ALOT of game modding adjacent content starting in 2025);
More character agent profiles
Ava Booksword: Cyan-eyed blonde ENFP synthetic-tier radical syndicalist android & personal social assistant to Kate made in 4500 Austrian Civ;
Kate "Olive" Kér: autistic transfem INTJ progressive geocenter/georgism/green human erudite historian woman born in 4498;
Gavrilo Nitta (tween Nitta boy asking literacy help favors to the Kate & Ava duet)
Jules Pyros
Thana (golem / proto-machine)
Abra (robot)
Sina (droid)
Théa (programmable matter)
Debra (neu-bionics)
Devi the Dao-Seraph (rogue servitor trope's collectivist ruler unit)
Lorebook adjustments
Amongst the dreams I keep gathering most days of the week as of late, I got a few ones about Kate, Ava & Shoshona. One was earlier in the story, (may or may not had one at the middle of it?) and had two-three at the later parts (esoterical + technological ascension process, navigating the new body capabilities & some more info about the overall "Rogue Servitors" future of my setting past the Blackhand Servitor narrative proper itself); Essentially have to work my way down from my current overview perspective into the mundane lives I essentially build for:
Anthropomorphic lifeforms, angels, devils, demons, fey and other supernatural entities may (or may not, you decide) live amongst mere human mortals here. Pretty much sorta like in mundane urban fantasy-like genres mixed with "Bangsian" fantasy genre.
The archons of this "simulation" also live amongst them while living in a older dying cosmos maintaining the simulation livid, lucid and comfortable? (see as per Tal & Tano Blackhand entries)
Additional data to embed
World setting summary
Thanks for sticking by as my wishes turn true moreover by the very day. Hopefully you all get to see the fruits of my labors soon enough... Cya and take care!
Reading Around the World
So I'm attempting to read a book from every country, and this is where I'm currently up to. I'll try and update it as I go along, and maybe write a few reviews. Would love any recommendations too, as you can see I have a very long way to go!
(Note: I'm aiming for a book written by someone who was born in each country, but where that proves difficult - suspect Vatican City might cause issues! - I'll go with books about a country. Similarly, if borders have changed, so far I've generally been going with the country that the town or city where the person was born is currently in. I'm aware that's very arbitrary, but it's just so I have some parameters to follow really. I might not always get it right or be super strict.)
(Also, if some of the choices seem a bit odd, it's because I'm kinda cheating and including a couple of books I read before starting the challenge, going back way too many years to uni, various book clubs etc.)
The basalt columns rising from the volcanic beach sparkled as the sun shone down on the obsidian sand. This was not the shore of the Mediterranean you would expect. My final game art project for university took place in this setting: a Roman temple with shining marble on a beach with black sand.
Like many creative endeavours, my inspiration started with a spark. I discovered this amazing concept art painting by Sergei Panin while perusing ArtStation. It showed a collapsing Mayan temple, the moss-covered stones of which blended with the jungle lagoon's emerald tones. I was struck by the contrast, the surprising beauty of these old remains in the middle of a colourful jungle. I was certain that I wanted to produce something with the same potency, that same contrast of the known and the unknown.
Tumblr media
But Rome felt too familiar, with its sun-drenched piazzas and immaculate marble basilicas. I yearned for an environment that would test my abilities as an artist and my knowledge of historic buildings. Go to the beach with black sand. I've always been enthralled by volcanic landscapes because of their bleak beauty and unadulterated strength. It was impossible to resist the image of a Roman temple, a representation of civilization and order, standing proudly against the wild, untamed expanse of a black sand beach.
Research turned into my next journey. I read a tonne of literature about Roman temples, architecture, and gods. I studied the peculiarities of black sand, such as how it absorbs light and produces an almost otherworldly environment, and the geology of volcanic islands. Once more, ArtStation turned into my oracle. I studied concept art of temples in strange places, such as the deserted Petra cut into Jordanian cliffs or the Angkor Wat tucked away in the forests of Cambodia. Every item gave me a different viewpoint and an original detail to add to my own design.
The real construction procedure took quite a bit of love and coffee. I played around with several textures, putting the rough volcanic rock in contrast to the temple's pristine marble. I experimented with light and shadow, evoking mystery and interest with the black sand's natural gloom. My goal to create a world that seemed both genuine and fantastical drove every decision I made, from the positioning of sculptures to the choice of columns.
I'm happy to report that the finished piece is proof of the creative process' limitless potential and the potency of inspiration. Not only is my Roman temple located on a beach with black sand, but it also serves as a gateway to an other realm where mythical creatures mutter to the breeze and the boundaries between truth and fantasy become less distinct. And it all began with a single spark—a view of Mayan ruins among a lush jungle—proving that sometimes the most surprising settings can serve as the inspiration for the most magnificent works of art.
"He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself; and if you gaze too long into the abyss, the abyss will gaze into you."― Friedrich Nietzsche Red Dragon Talon Abraxas Red Dragon is your Conscious Self - who you are and who you are becoming. Red Dragon represents the root source of life, the nurturance and support of primary being, and within it are found the primal waters of unity. This is where your deepest roots receive true nourishment. Red Dragon is the energy of form contained within the formlessness of the primordial sea. Primal trust means making choices with no guarantees, knowing that divine nurturance will provide what is needed for your journey. It means making choices moment by moment, implicitly trusting your innate steering mechanism of heart-knowing. Primal trust implies surrendering to the will of the divine self, letting go of what your ego deems to be control of the outcomes in your life. It means deeply trusting the processes that are at work within your present spiral of evolution. The energy of Red Dragon asks you to embrace the depth of your receptivity. Perhaps you have been taught that it is better to give than to receive. Giving is a powerful way to learn how to receive, but it is not the whole picture. There is a circuit of completion in giving and receiving that happens within you and in your external world at the same time. If you trust unconditionally in the giving, you are not attached to how the gift is received. When you freely give, you fill your cup with sweet waters, which you can then offern innocently and purely to another. Know, on one level, that your gift is poured out universally regardless of how it appears to be received. However, when the gift comes from the ego, it is limited by expectations and conditions. Love just is. It is neither given nor taken; rather it is simply discovered and allowed. The universe is an inseparable whole. Red Dragon represents the energy matrix lines that look like a web in the universe, through which all points are connected in time and space. This energetic web of communication is known as the 'crystal grid network.' It is a cauldron of creation, a potent field in which all things are not only possible but constantly being created. Within this grid, the linear causality of time and space has been freed into an open system in which all time and all space exist and interact simultaneously. This grid connects the larger holograms of reality with our own. Its energy lines connect all places, times and events - even those that are seemingly unrelated. All phenomena and all actions are part of this larger whole; it is the very foundation for telepathy and synchronicity. Red Dragon embodies unity, in which all things are one with the Source. Red Dragon is also your Higher Self & Guide. You are a double Red Dragon. When your Conscious Self and Higher Self are one and the same it means that you desire to embody all that Red Dragon is, completely and powerfully. Your SuperConscious is guiding you to trust in the larger pattern to provide what you need. Communicate your feelings, desires and dreams! These excerpts were taken from the book, "The Mayan Oracle - Return Path to the Stars" by Ariel Spilsbury & Michael Bryner
