the problem with recommending saezuru (which i don't do anyway, but let's pretend i do) is that i feel like you have to see the car crash first to not take some things at face value

#i know you can say it about anything really but still #like. yeah read saezuru if you're curious. then read it again #doumeki saying “it's not rape if the victim doesn't hate it” is a loaded statement but you can take it at face value the first time #because it's somewhat innocuous in the context of the scene when he says it. not in the context of Everything though. it's things like that #idk i keep thinking about a mutual saying how maybe doumeki and yashiro were doomed from the start. maybe they were #at least as far as the first arc goes when you know how it ends you can see all the signs on a reread and it really does feel inevitable #but you might ignore some signs at first either because you're inclined to romanticize things a bit or don't know where to look yet #i'm so so normal about it can you tell #saezuru tag

me whenever I put all my effort into that One fic and leave That comment and the author responds selectively to that one comment: omg I've been noticed by senpai - am I, am I better than everyone??

Somehow, after months of not moving a muscle, I managed to get off my ass and do some light stretching + a whole damn abs routine too, that I still have no idea how I got through it, I remember it being hard on Normal day, and now my whole body is feeling this little workout and I'm like?? I had a dream that I was visiting a friend and her father, who was Stanisław Lem, and I was trying really hard not to fangirl over him.

Eventually I was alone with him for a little bit, and I asked if he was willing to talk about his books with me. He kind of rolled his eyes and said, "you can explain your pet theory to me if you want."

I just wanted to say I found one of his stories really moving, but clearly the fandom had Gotten To Him.

I'm reminded so much of Binghe in Cixous’ 'Stigmata' (specifically ‘Love Of The Wolf’)

“For us, eating and being eaten belong to the terrible secret of love... The story of torment itself is a very beautiful one. Because loving is wanting and being able to eat up and yet to stop at the boundary." (pg 78)

"...who says or doesn’t say, but who signifies: I beg you, eat me up. Want me down to the marrow. And yet manage it so as to keep me alive... and I urge you: bite me. Sign my death with your teeth." (pg 78)

like cmon, you mean to tell me this doesn't remind you of them?

"The wolf says to the child: I’m going to eat you up. Nothing tickles the child more. That’s the mystery: why does the idea that you’re going to eat me up fill me with such pleasure and such terror? It’s to get this pleasure that you need the wolf. The wolf is the truth of love, its cruelty, its fangs, its claws, our aptitude for ferocity. Now while I've yet to do an in-depth analysis of Bingqiu's relationship, I have done one of Binghe and I really really love how he aligns with a concept I can't fully name. it has something to do with love as defying your nature, or the expectations set for you, or your past. Love as a choice you make, and as a conscious effort to be better.

I don't know if I'm just connecting two things I enjoy or making everything I do about the Thing I Currently Like, but I thought id put it out there anyway (cause I'm pretty sure if it doesn't apply to Bingqiu, then it applies better to another ship from danmei I've yet to read *ahem a lot of them*)

The way Shen Qingqiu conceptualizes of showing affection between himself and Luo Binghe once they get together is hilarious! In his mind:

refusing to hold Luo Binghe’s hand = flirting

BUT

“Luo Binghe” refusing to hold his hand = being rejected/punished/“Binghe must be throwing a tantrum.”
