Hello, I recently read your Magic Between the Moon & Sky series, and I really like the college AU series. It's really wonderful. I want to know if there will be an opportunity to update in the future. If you don't mind, I would like to know why you Not a fan of TDP anymoreFinally, I wish you well. The novels you wrote really bring me great joy.
Tumblr media
Ahh, it means a lot to know that you enjoyed my work! I really enjoyed writing Rayllum immensely and I loved to see that a lot of people liked it as much as I did (if not more, apparently 😅). The reason for why I dropped off TDP is kinda... strange to explain. My second oldest sister and I were big fans of the show, and as you can obviously tell from my blog, I was excited about it for a time!
But when Season 4 of The Dragon Prince was announced I was really excited about it! But at the time, my sister and I had others shows we were watching. I was also busy writing for The Most Undoing Thing at the time and didn't want to be too sidetracked with other fandoms. And then, as time went on, it kinda got away from us but we were shocked to hear that Season 5 was announced later in 2023 summer.
Now I know Season 2 and 3 had a similar time gap, for us, we were kinda worried about hearing such an immediate follow up when it felt like Season 4 just came out. Apprehensively, I looked at some reviews and such. I won't say that I haven't been influenced by what I heard, but I also know that there was good reviews and legitimate excitement too! I already read a small amount of the comic materials and books that came out in the break between Season 3 and 4, so I knew a lot of the changes to come.
And the time skip.
So, seeing a bit of a divide, my sister and I slowly just thought, "Well, we'll get around to it." But evidently, it just became something we kind of lost interest in. Season 3 was good, but there were some pacing things we weren't a fan of. For me, I enjoyed the heart of the story and the characters throughout. In the end, I was also aware of the rushed aspects of the narrative too at times.
All in all, I started to have less attachment to really wanting to watch or enjoy the media I was into, and just started focusing on MBTMS itself. Because I still liked Rayllum, and people still liked what I wrote. Though, it became an issue for me, because now I was essentially writing for a fandom I was losing interest in, which meant motivation was hard to muster.
I just felt like I was obligating myself to writing something I wasn't invested in, which made me worry that it would reflect in my writing. And the last thing I wanted, was to write something and put it out when I wasn't even happy with it. With that aside, time just kept moving on and suddenly there's 6 Seasons of this series, and I felt like it was just a lot.
The pacing of TDP has always been... strange. I understand that it's been separated into sagas as well. For MBTMS, I genuinely do wish to finish it someday. But the issue with most of MBTMS, is that it's largely set in an AU stories. And AU or not, I do my best to emulate the canon characters in their personalities and behaviours. So it's hard to do that when you haven't looked at canon material for so long nor if you're just not all too keen on getting back into it.
TL;DR: After putting it off for awhile, it got away from me and my interest slowly waned based on the overall pacing and output of the show. From the reviews and responses, I just felt less inclined to get back into it which affected my motivation to writing for MBTMS. I don't think I'll return to MBTMS, but I wish to someday.
Thanks for the ask, Anon. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm glad and pleased to know you enjoyed my stories for the time you shared with them.
Until next ask,
- Bleh

writing for a fictional universe is hard. especially when it's all in my head
hi, i'm mike. this is my account for writing fiction regarding my transformers OCs. you've seen my other account no doubt - @magicalbuffalotransformerman - and the abysmal, braindead decisions i've made on that account as well.
i'm dumber than shit, please forgive me
anywho, from now on, i want to post my garbage-tier atleastcomparedtoeveryoneelse's writing works here so i can tag them all correctly. here are the tags i plan to use:
#mbtm-pinnedpost - this post right here. #mbtm-ramble - for works that i feel don't fall under the purview(s) of 'quality writing' or are just shitposts with my characters. #mbtm-lorepost - for works that are the opposite of those tagged with the above. #mbtm-nsfw - i plan to pair this one with #valveplug, because it's the one for the works with non-zero amounts of fucking/fragging in them, quality be damned. (this one comes with a tier system!) >#mbtm-mildnsfw - for works that contain things like swearing and guns. >#mbtm-heavynsfw - for shit like... i'ouno, severely detailed depictions of grotesque actions such as rape or cooking a still-living being alive to consume later. be warned.
if you want something tagged (e.g. a post that contains untagged cannibalism), do not hesitate to ask me to tag it with the appropiate trigger/content warning (e.g. #tw cannibalism). i want to take that shit seriously here and i will consider your request wisely.
as well as that, i am above the age of 18 however i will not provide you with the details, as i value my privacy and have a compulsive need to separate my IRL and online identities as best as i can.
that should be everything. it's 12:50 AM as i write this up, so if i feel like i've forgotten something, i'll likely update this.
toodle-loo.

bone broth
[ayo. welcome to a bone broth tutorial. what you read here is, afaik, NOT what you should do in making a bowl of bone broth, and should not be treated as such. this is simply me making a post referencing an ask referring to my name. enjoy the post.]
BC: hello, and welcome to the only ever episode of cooking with bonecrusher. today, i'm gonna make some bone broth.
[he grabs some bones from out of a box on the kitchen counter.]
BC: so, bone broth is pretty delicious if you make it right, and making it right depends on your tastes. basically, i'm gonna make my bone broth really salty, because i like really salty foods, such as pretzels, and play-doh. play-doh probably isn't a food, rather a building material, but fuck it, this is my episode. so, what you're gonna wanna do is, you boil some water.
[EXTREMELY LOUD KETTLE WHISTLING]
BC: as you can tell, i'm already boiling some. next thing you want to do while the water boils, is you want to get a bowl;
[he places a large bowl onto the counter.]
BC: ...and you want to smash up your bones inside of it. if you can't, don't worry, just smash the bones somewhere else and put them into the bowl. you'll be fine. make sure they've been reduced to small particles or chunks, that'll be fine.
[he smashes the bones with his hands over and over, and pours them into the bowl.]
BC: once you've got the bones all ready, get your flavor of choice, such as salt... [he grabs a salt shaker and a vinegar bottle out of the cupboards.] and pour some into the bone bowl.
[he pours some salt (and vinegar) into the bowl of bones.]
BC: once you're done with that, you wait for the water to finish boiling.
[the kettle pops. bonecrusher picks it up and pours some boiling hot water into the bone bowl.]
BC: alright, now you'll want to let it sit for 15 minutes. i'm gonna go take a leak while we wait. see you in a minute.
[bonecrusher walks offscreen.]
-
-
-
[bonecrusher returns onscreen.]
BC: now, once your bone broth has sat for at least 15 minutes, you're gonna want to drain the broth into another bowl so that you don't have to crunch bones while you're eating your broth. unless you like that, then this is perfectly fine, and you can head off now. if you're not mental though, keep watching, aye?
[he grabs another bowl, and drains the broth into the second bowl.]
BC: there you go, that should be fine. but first...
[he grabs a big ol' spoon, stirs the bone broth for a little bit, and taste tests it.]
BC: alright. as far as i know, i've done it right. basically, you want a nice soupy texture. something like chicken noodle soup without the chicken and noodles. yeah, uh, that's about it. have a good day.

WAIT, you're the Rayllum college oneshot au guy? I LOVE Your fanfics! Any chance you'll make a return during season 4??
Tumblr media
It's me, I'm The Guy. And for anyone wondering, the fic is Magic Between the Moon & Sky---you can see in my pinned post! ( •‿-)
Ahh yes, the College AU series is definitely a fan favourite, which I understand (I love writing for it too)! But in terms of me updating come November or December? We'll see! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As of now I have two ongoing fic series that are kind of my focus as well as a couple of WIPs that I'm excited for! Also, I'm not really in a hurry to churn out Rayllum oneshots for MBTMS because with the promise of four more seasons, there'll be plenty of material and time for me to work with.
Coming Nov-Dec, I'm not sure what'll happen but if I do think up something I might let y'all know! I appreciate that you like my stories, though ( ^‿^) .
Until next ask,

...wouldn't... wouldnt it be MBTMAS instead of MBTMS? because of "and?"
Tumblr media
Okay yes, me saying MBTMS instead of MBTMAS is technically wrong (for "Magic Between the Moon & Sky"). But in my defence, the ampersand symbol kinda made me forget and adding "A" seemed too long for an acronym. Honestly? It's not too big a deal where I can just start saying it with an A but I'm too lazy to go back and change 63 posts and all their update posts' tags. 😅
But, like, let's just imagine the A's there? ( •‿-)
Until next ask,

1. and 2.
1. favorite fic you wrote this year
2. least favorite fic you wrote this year
Well, for faves, I think it's a tie between "What is This Again?" and "What Keeps me up at Night".
The former because it was Raya and the Last Dragon oneshot I wrote off a writing prompt. And It was pretty accurate and fun! I had a blast writing it in the short time I did and it really made my mood to see it get a lot of love!
The latter, was a Taang oneshot I had written long ago and put a lot of thought into. I love the ship a lot and while I was excited to participate in @taangweek, I also wanted to work on a more intimate and vulnerable piece between my lovable chaotic pair. And I was glad to see it was well liked.
As for least fave? Well, I'm gonna say 12 Days of Rayllum solely because I shot myself in the foot and gave myself a lot of cool oneshot AUs that not only readers seemed to enjoy, but me as well. I definitely anticipate a good portion of them will be revisited.
I know, kind of a cop out answer but I don't have a "least favourite". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Until next ask,

So as a multi-fandom blog, what was your first fandom? Or at least the first one you remember being apart of? I did a deep dive of your stuff, was it Zootopia or Red vs Blue? 👀👀?
Tumblr media
Don't worry! It's not like, some traumatic thing or anything! 😅 I guess it's just embarrassing? But honestly, we're on Tumblr, what can ya expect in terms of past teen fic writing. I doubt you wanted a massive deep dive into this but I'll share nonetheless! Plus, I kinda wanna make this a lesson about fic writing and its struggles so if you wanna bear through go ahead! I also have a feeling this'll be a bit long so I'll spare people's feeds with a "keep reading".
So Red vs Blue and the Halo crossover was my first ever fic I wrote. I won't go into the details of any of my fic's plot because they were lame, but also because I don't really have time for that. But yeah, its concept is/was like most abandoned fic concepts you see: had good potential but was written by an amateur writer who was way out of their depth. It was essentially a multi canon divergence fic and was supposed to mesh together both stories during critical moments in both their franchises but I obviously half-assed it.
But I wasn't apart of the Red vs Blue fandom as much as I consider being apart of a fandom. Zootopia? Now that was the first time I was ever into a fandom. I was following all the big fic writers and their fics like @demonwriterx or @upplet, soaking up nearly every fic artist and their fanarts, and talking with other fans! Try Everything was my writing song! (Still listen to it, it's a pretty good motivation song). I knew Zootopia fun facts, watched the movie countless times, and as you no doubt know, I wrote a fic for it.
Zootopia: Partners in Crime or ZPIC, was a fun adventure I don't regret being apart of. It's one my biggest fics on FFN and also has my most words ever written as of late, going over 430K. The fan response was amazing as well as the community interaction. My old beta @legoaustin11 was truly a great collaborator and definitely had a bigger hand in its development in the later chapters. He wrote a chapter, helped me write some scenes and greatly helped my creative processes.
When I told him about going on hiatus, part of me knew I wouldn't be returning. And as time grew on I kind of weighed the options of letting him take over. Austin didn't exactly know the entire plot of ZPIC and wouldn't exactly have access to the fic to upload newer chapters. He and I kept in touch well after its hiatus here and there and last I heard from him he was doing okay during the first lockdown! It's not something I thought much about, but ZPIC being continued is something I'd run by him first before all else. Regardless, ZPIC was also a learning experience in that I wasn't prepared.
Legends of Avatar: the Untold Story or LoA, sorta fell in the same boat but I genuinely do believe I'll return to that one someday. Just not any time soon. But it was also my second dive in doing a canonical rewrite but more properly and more thought out. I still have proper notes and layouts of what's to come! And I do return to writing it here and there.
MTBMS, my oneshot fics, and L&L taught me about being prepared and having layouts for my stories. ZPIC had an ending, but it wasn't written out---not in concept or in a scene. MBTMS? College AU, Superhero AU, Childhood AUs, they have endings. L&L has chapters written out in advance and scenes and plot structures laid out. I was just an amateur when I wrote ZPIC and it clearly shows.
That's not to say every fic I have written/will post has been fully planned. My Arcane and RatLD oneshots weren't entirely planned, but my Taang oneshots were! MTBMS wasn't at first going to 100 chapters but I decided to make it that way when I was approaching 50 chapters (chapter 49 was where I announced trying to make it to 100). Then when I made that decision, I decided to pace out and ease up on its update schedules.
To make a long winded story worthwhile:
The thing I learned about fic writing is that it isn't as lax as you convince yourself it to be sometimes. Not to say every fic or fic writers must go through sheer amount of planning and plotting. But I noticed that the ones who dream big? Fall short like how I did and it's kind of ourselves to blame for that. A good lesson to consider is if you are going to aim big and shoot far, then take the time to adjust your crosshairs and practice your breathing. It's harder and more ambitious than you might realize! Taking a step back to think ahead has some great benefits.
All in all, the journey was great and though I'm not apart of the Zootopia fandom as much as I was before, it still holds a massive place in my heart for what it started for me. Sure the movie was basically copaganda and a sorta poor take on racism, but its BIG theme of implicit biases and just overall overcoming of status quo for modern society was something I found endearing and heartfelt. I imagine I lost quite a few Zootopia followers along the way, but if you're still sticking around from then? Thanks! ( ^‿^) Not sure why ya are, but thanks!
Shameless plug: If you wanna see all the fics mentioned you can go to my blog and click on "Here's all my fanfics!" or any of my profiles for Ao3 and FFN. Though some of my fic are NOT on Ao3 because I couldn't be bothered to cross-post. But I will get around to it for LoA. Also, this is barely the surface of all the WIPs i've scrapped/am working on...
Until next ask,
- Bleh

I just wanted to say I have really enjoyed your Dragon Prince Rayllum College AU so far. I know it's been a while since you updated that fic but it is honestly my favorite one and singlehandedly started my love for modern/college AUs for the fandom. I seriously always skipped them until I stumbled upon the "Expectations" chapter and now I'm hooked. You did an amazing job. I do hope you'll continue this AU one day. Such a good burn! Please stay safe and healthy! ~Friendly anonymous fanfic lurker
Oh my god... thank you so much!
To this day, I’m genuinely baffled by how much love my Rayllum College AU has gotten, but I’m also super grateful for it? I understand there’s a whole slew of other AUs laced within the collection that not everyone enjoys, but I’m happy you all have found something to like.
I’m sorry for not updating as much as I like, but I needed some serious self-care during this whole quarantine and decided to step away from Tumblr every so often. I will say though, I have another update coming soon (not College AU sadly) and it will come before @rayllum-week-and-month. And yes, I will participate in it and do my best to give you all the content you want!
Thanks for your kind words and patience, means the Galaxy to me.
Until next time,
- Bleh

Are you going to continue with your tdp oneshots fic?
Yes! I will!
Terribly sorry about the delays guys, second semester kinda piled up and ASL really diverted my attention from my other courses. So a lot of heavy studying was required. That said, the next oneshot is actually going to be dropped fairly soon! Either tonight or tomorrow, expect another Rayllum!
But yeah, thanks for being so patient everyone! I apologize for being so out of touch!

Not all of the scraplets made it back to Iacon. Two, being driven by a little more curiosity and a little less sense than the rest of the swarm, managed to get themselves separated and wandered through a series of other bots' bridges, trying to find the way home again. They're not sure who or what they've found, but they know the main swarm would want to investigate, so... they fly right for the unfamiliar shape, hoping to get a closer look. And maybe a bite to eat. Travel is hungry work.
[he's vibing on the porch, drawing a picture of something. mainly being bored.]
...bloody hell, how do the humans do it?
[he crunches up the paper in his hands, and tosses it into the snow, then having a good ol' think. as one does when bored. that's when he hears some whirring. he gets up, and has a look upon the white yonder, trying to figure out what the hell's whirring around here.]
...huh. scraplets, in antarctica. they'll probably die in a couple minutes, then, if transformers prime is anything to believe. just in case...
[he grabs a chunk of scrap metal and hurls it towards the scraplets, trying not to kill one on impact for once. he heads into the base, another precaution incase the scraplets aren't distracted by the chunk of scraps.]

hi! I love your dragon prince fic! are you going to update it more? i love your college au! i want to see them kiss! question does college au rayla fear water? can she know how to swim? Wish much love for you! you are awesome!
So sorry about the radio silence guys. I am still working on the oneshots for Rayllum month but I will sadly not be doing the entire month anymore. I’ll fill you more on this when I update the fic, but for now all I’ll say is that MBTMS will in fact consist of some of the rayllum month prompts.
As for your questions kind stranger! Now for college AU? It’s gonna be a slow... slow burn. And I like to thing in any way existence Rayla will always have a phobia of water so yes, she can’t swim. As for her learning? We’ll see!

Thank you Anon. Means a lot!
I know y’all are expecting Rayllum—soon! I promise all will be explained. But yeah, been taking care of myself for the last few months.
Poorly? Yes. But I’m managing. And I’m bouncing back.
