The third of the drawing tests using the characters from @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU! If you haven't guessed already, it's Martin Blackwood, long-time Mechanism, survivor of Yog-Sothoth and long-lost protector/love interest of Jonathan Sims! Thanks to Andian themselves for clearing up his eye colour for me; originally, I was going to make it brown with like a slight bluish tint in order to reflect his time in Yog-Sothoth, but then I realized it probably would have been mentioned in the fic if he had heterochromia, so I abandoned the idea. I exchanged it for an unnatural vibrancy to his eyes, which wouldn't be as noticeable to others and is still kinda not mentioned but we take creative liberties when the idea is too exciting. I honestly love Martin's characterization in the fics, it makes his more Web-like ties a bit more... there? Like don't get me wrong they are, but it feels more tangible when you throw in a few centuries or so of age and experience to strengthen them. You know the drill; The Eye wants more. Have fun guessing who is next... or more, *what* is next~

I had a very specific vision of Jon coming in to work in full out Mechs gear and Martin immediately enters gay panic mode the first time he sees it

Meanwhile the entire archives crew is wondering why their boss dressed up as a steampunk space pirate to work

Tim: Sure it is, boss! I for example had Chappell Roan as my number 1, I was even in the top 0.05% of listeners!

Sasha: Yea, that isn't surprising, you played hot to go on repeat whenever there was a statement about fire

Being that the two have been in this universe awhile, Martin's gotten pretty used to being hit on and basically ignores it. Jon has not... and is testy about it.

so what about one of those "jon was in the mechanisms in college and martin is currently a huge fan" jmart fics except we have an alternative/punk martin and for whatever's reason wore his battle vest/jacket to the archives and jon is so close to reprimanding martin for "inappropriate workplace attire" (the hypocrite) but then he sees the extremely detailed and lovingly hand-made mechanisms backpatch as the vest's centerpiece and he just,,, freezes and walks back to his office.
