your new friend vernon is walking you home one night, telling you all about the date his mom is setting him up on in an attempt to “get out there more”. he admits it’s been a while since he’s taken somebody on a date, and he’s sort of nervous and half dreading it. he doesn’t even have any idea what he’s going to wear.

the two of you reach the front of your apartment building, and you face to look at him. placing your hands on his shoulders you teasingly say, “wear that navy blue polo shirt of yours. it almost makes you look nice.”

he huffs out a small laugh in response, but the truth is he’s sort of spiraling. you notice what he’s wearing beyond an aesthetic sense? do you pay attention to how the shirt fits him perfectly, how it hugs at his chest and shows off his arms? of course, vernon knows he’s attractive — people swoon over him on the daily, and many times he can get away with not paying for ramen at the convenience store if the girl at the counter is young. but, it never crossed his mind that you thought about him in that way. it was different with you, wasn’t it?

he thinks about that, and you, on the way back to his dorm.

you text him to ask about his date the next night, the curiosity getting the better of you.

how was ur date? did she appreciate the polo?

he admits he didn’t wear the polo, but doesn’t offer any explanation as to why. he adds that the date was going fine until they were saying goodbye and she went in for a kiss on the cheek and he held out his hand. he probably won’t see her again.

you laugh out loud at his message.

when it’s your birthday a week later, he wears the polo to the casual dinner you host at your place with your closest friends. he notices when your eyes linger on his lean figure, and the way you blush when you know you’ve been caught. you’re almost sure he’s worn it on purpose.

tbh I think that there being no big story somewhere for your dogs is what made them fun when I first found them, if that makes sense.

Like the first art I saw of Machete was the teen art you did of him back in June, and it was like oh??? who is this liddol guy? why is he sad?? ‘It’s the bug-eyed teachers apprentice again’ who is talking about him? Then later I saw the ‘nodding off at the office’ one and it was like oh! It’s the dog again!!!! why he mad? why he eepy? and then stumbling across Art of him and Vasco (I think it was the reunion one) and it was like alr Ive gotta find out who this doggo is

Anyway I remember sitting in the grass of my grandparents front lawn and going through your entire blog to learn more about Machete :3 it was so so fun to pick up little bits and pieces of him as I went further back So I think that experience was a neat core part of discovering your dogs and I really love that.

A couple of people have said the same thing, and I think it's wonderful that you found them interesting enough that you went through the trouble of combing through my old posts and figuring out how things connect!

I can see how the process itself might be part of the fun for some, but you'd have to be really invested in these dogs to go scouting for that hard to find and disorganized lore. I'd imagine it takes a lot of effort, initiative and time to do that.

Fe Aspec Week Day 2: Friendship

An indulgent piece for today!!!! :') It's no secret the trio's friendship has always had a really special place in my heart, and I've been grateful for the taste of acceptance and contentment it brought me during (and long after) I played the game. To see them find the most caring and complete friendship in each other was truly inspiring.

The idea and what chapter(s) it’s from (for reference, I do not feel like hunting down each one myself, sorry…)

Which panel/placement you’d like it to be in (I will sometimes change this if I think it looks better somewhere else)

Ex:

“Optimus seeing a titan for the first time in Chapter 1, maybe in panel 3.”

The only rules are

Only use the MAIN FANFICTION, if I cannot find it in Attack on Prime on AO3, I will not take it

I will not be focusing on the very angst-y parts, however, I will accept maybe two ‘dark’ asks

I am doing the colors after all the panels are filled

I will make changes when needed

I’m not expecting many requests from anyone other than @melishade (nothing wrong with that, I love talking to you) but still, I welcome any enjoyers of AOP to contribute!

This is meant to be and ode to a truly amazing, unexpected crossover with so much passion, heart, blood, sweat, tears, and love!

Went through the teen plushie liker plight of being made fun of for an impulse buy two seconds after and hating this guy for a while because of that but I've come around because look at that face. Look at that cloak and leaf hat. I'd let them curse my bloodline

Alcina, after putting her daughters to bed, would dress up as Santa and discreetly place the many many presents she got her bug spawns under the tree in the main hall knowing that there would at least be three different curious flies keeping an eye on their yearly visitor.

And sure enough, after leaving, she can easily detect the three out of bed and down in the main hall examining the boxes and wondering what they got this time around.

My greatest unreasonable pet peeve is when people write stardew valley fanfiction where the characters are eating food they canonically dislike or hate. Like, there is literally a list of what every character likes and dislikes!!
