Here's some memorization tips I gave my class. Hope someone finds them helpful!
1. Become familiar with the script by reading through the entire work.
2. With a highlighter or marker, highlight all your lines and make notes on your entrances and exits or any blocking we have gone over in class. Remember the stage directions: Stage Left (actors left) = SL, Stage Right (actors right) = SR, Upstage (furthest from the audience) = US, Downstage (closest to the audience) = DS and Center Stage = CS
3. Repetition, repetition, repetition. Always repeat your lines out loud. For lengthy lines, split them up in parts. Once you have a sentence memorized move on to the next and repeat both sentences until you are able to repeat both without looking at the paper.
4. Remember your cues. Learn when your scene partner says their line and when you are meant to say yours.
5. Record yourself saying your lines. Listening works a different part of your brain and aids in memorization and character developmental work.

Techniques for Memorizing Vedic Hymns
Vedic hymns are among the oldest texts in the world. In the Seven Rivers civilization, they were transmitted orally from generation to generation with remarkable precision. To prevent any alteration of the text, sophisticated memorization techniques were developed. Here are the main methods used. 1. Loop Repetition (Japa) The simplest method was to repeat a verse over and over until they knew…

People say JGY betrayed LXC's trust by using the song of turmoil, but the fact that he could sneak into the forbidden library and remember everything he saw there, yet the only time he did it (as far as we know) was to kill someone who was threatening his life, was very cool of him actually.
#Can you imagine how many other books about forbidden techniques were at the library?#I'm sure it didn't have just songs for murder but lots of other things that would have made JGY's life so much easier#And no one would even notice anything if he memorized them all#Jin guangyao

genuine question, do you like maths?? i have a vague feeling i saw your post of tags or something that said something about it but i cannot figure out if it was in fact you or if it was even positive ahahah
Yeah that was me! I don't go looking for math problems, but when I happen to do them, I tend to enjoy it. Wasn't always this way — elementary school math was about speed and memorization and I hated that — but I had a really good teacher in upper secondary school, and it became about creative problem solving. It feels the same as writing a poem in meter or managing to untangle a really bad knot in a ball of yarn.
#i can't do math in my head or memorize formulas#and i'm not precise‚ which is bad for questions that are only numbers. like. 5+6=? type of stuff#because if all you need to is write the final answer‚ then if that answer is wrong‚ youve failed. don't get the points for the exam question#but! upper secondary school math! my beloved! (specifically lyhyt matikka‚ idk what pitkä is like)#there's a book that has all the formulas in it and you can use it and look them up even during exams. no memorization#it doesn't explain *how* the formulas are used but still#and there was more time than there ever was in my previous schools. and finishing fast did not mean you were better. i could take my time#and there were so many... worded questions? like instead of pure numbers they present the problem to you in words. phrases. prose#here is a situation. solve it#and you get to choose HOW to solve it#sometimes i could not remember how a formula worked‚ or hadn't quite figured out a recently taught technique yet#and i just. figured out a different way to solve the problem#can't remember the answer to 5x8? let's count 5+5+5+5+5+5+5+5 instead#38/7? lets draw 38 little balls in the margin and separate them into groups of 7 and see how many there are and how many strays get left out#like that but applied to lots of stuff#and it was enougj! it was fine! it was a valid way to solve it! i got the right answer!#unless i messed something up! a + turned into a - by accident somewhere in the middle of the equation#but! part of this level of math was that it was encouraged to write our whole thought process down#and i‚ unable to do it off the paper anyway#i wrote down ALL OF IT#and the teacher saw where i went wrong and that it was little precision things but that i had the techniques down and#i still got most of the points for those questions instead of losing everything because of an incorrect number at the end#these differences have meant everything#math is puzzles. puzzles can be fun#some of my first memories of math class are of me sobbing under my desk#i cried a few tears in all my matriculation exams too‚ even for my favourite subjects. but not math#one of the most important questions was a geometry one. i shine in that area#i grinned doing it

i'll be completely honest... i don't want to study for the exam i have tomorrow! as it is i've procrastinated enough by spending half the day making collages but i guarantee i'll procrastinate some more
#melonposting#the annoying thing about this exam is that it's much more memorization-based#for subjects like stats the main way to study is to practice. to understand techniques and intuitively know how to use them#especially when you aren't required to know formulas off the top of your head#there's a certain inherent logic to it that exists on its own. you don't have to really stuff your brain with things#it's procedural#but for my jewish texts final... i have to be able to define all of these terms. to match up people to places and time periods#i have to stuff my brain with sentences... descriptions and translations and such...#because it's knowledge of material instead of knowledge of methodology#and it's funny for me to complain about that when i've historically prattled on about my distaste for doing math#but at the same time i don't entirely dislike it. it can be very satisfying at times#and also non-math subjects can be just as stressful or frustrating at times... if not more so!#in any event my stats final is behind me so i'm no longer worrying about it. my jewish texts final is the big fish to fry

btw (same anon) your memorization tips from a while back helped me so much recently so thank youuuuu :D
(this: https://www.tumblr.com/notsosaucystuff/774867614634835968/heres-some-memorization-tips-i-gave-my-class?source=share)
Yay! I'm so glad! Link
I'll give you a bonus one that I've been using recently.
I had to memorize a monologue from Hamlet referred to as "Speak the Speech".
First I wrote it down, then I drew a little picture representing the main words in each sentence. I just drew the first image that came to my mind when I thought of each word. For example:
For the word "nature" I drew a tree. Some other ones wouldn't make sense to other people, but make sense to me. Like for "virtue" I drew a vase of flowers.
Then I remember each picture in order.

This is similar to the stacking memorization method. I'm a very visual learner so this might not be as helpful as any of the other ways for certain people. I also do this when learning new Spanish vocabulary. But in that case it doesn't need to be in order

Still it's pretty ballsy of RGG to bring back The Ruff guy instead of the fan-favorite character who sacrificed himself to kill him
i think its infinitely funnier rgg brought back richardson and did everything they could to avoid even alluding to mine pardon kiryu's essence move and a fucking quiz answer
#snap chats#i love how mine's tattoo is the first to flash in that essence too. like why#just really rubbing it in now arent you vjelkjLKVJELKJ#buut yeah no i repeat. the mine hype leading up to IW was the ultimate blue-balling technique#esp with ishin and just EVERYONE lovin mine it's hysterical there's near nothing for him in IW#the game where kiryu's going down memory lane and idk i'd remember a guy my son was in love with. esp if he destroyed my orphanage#ESP if he was one of few people ever who decided to call me out on my bullshit like he's a pretty memorable guy to me idk maybe im biased#ITS SO FUNNY THO I CANT EVEN ACT MAD LMAOOOOO
