Crappy Botw AU where, instead of waking up alone, you wake up to a skull kid trying to rob you then get to meet up with old companions of heroes you once idolized. While you work to regain your memories you also learn from them that those heroes were FAR from perfect and its okay to be a person first hero second. Or in less sophisticated words, an AU where botw Link becomes and STAYS an absolute menace to society. Because lets be real Totk seemed to have him go right back to knight mentality and thats not what I want for him.

I don't need you to mourn with us. You clearly don't view those lost as part of your community, so why would you mourn?

And I don't need you to comfort us. You've shown time and time again that you do not care for our pain, so why would I expect you to start now?

But I do need you to not celebrate our grief - to not treat our pain like a victory.

Because nothing has been gained here. Palestine has not moved closer to freedom. It has not gained ground, or resources, or allies. This does not move us closer to the end of the war, and if anything it strengthens Israel's resolve to continue fighting because the alternative is death.

So if you are celebrating, the only thing you are celebrating is death, and grief. And if you think that's worthy of celebrating, then I think you need to really think about if that's the sort of person you want to be.

Yes, yes, it'd be super funny if Kaladin hooked up with Shallan's mom. This is true. But!☝️do you know what would also be funny? Shallan's mom is down BAD for Kaladin but Kaladin 1) doesn't notice, 2) doesn't care, and/or 3) is convinced that her excessive flirting and blatant sexual advances are symptoms of her mental illness.

Batman's advice to younger heroes would be not to investigate. Just save people from fires or muggings or falling debris, or champion social changes and protect protesters. But not to dig into their lives and the heads of murderous psychopaths who remain undetected.

Since you said we can ask, do you mind if I ask how you plan your backgrounds? They're so intricate and pretty

I just can't bring myself to draw anything that isn't contained within itself often. It's all about framing and containment for me.

Cultural references, important moments in a character's story, celebrating Tu Bishvat, flowers from my childhood attached to memories- framing is a great place to put things that aren't the focus of the piece but little supporting details about the subject, or you. Framing within framing is also helpful for me, to keep things detailed but also have a balance of not-overwhelming space too. Envisioning the space where things happens helps. After I figure out composition the unplanned rest of it can just fit in those planned spaces of busy-ness.
