Twinning Délice Fleur (2011 release)!
A very simple coord but it's one of my personal favourite pieces so I was very happy to be able to twin it with rabbitreverie when she came to visit before the dress joined my wardrobe 😖
The ice outside was so slippery 😅 we slipped our way to a café afterwards🍰
All clothes Mary Magdalene except for socks (offbrand), shoes in the outdoor photo are also offbrand (? I don't know the brand of rabbitreverie's shoes but mine are Honey Cinnamon)

Hello can you kinda explain the whole JK rolling thing and why people hate on her a lot cuz i seen ppl do nothing but hate on her and call her transphobic and i'm so confused on it as to why
Hi! Sorry I let this ask go ignored for a little while, it's a big topic so I wanted to answer it once I have some free time; I went looking for a post that could summarize the situation but, Tumblr being what it is, I couldn't find any. So here is a quick timeline, as I remember it, as someone who was a TRA on Twitter while most of it unfolded:
in 2019, Jo followed Magdalen Berns on Twitter (I also believe she liked one of her tweets and that's how Twitter users found out she was following her). Berns was a gender critical lesbian and YouTuber who was one of the first critic of TRA misogyny.
At the time, Jo was much, much more liked than she is now, obviously. This event caused some drama, it trended for a while, but it was quickly brushed aside and things went on. In my spheres (TRA Twitter), it was seen as kind of a bad look to follow Jo on Twitter following this, but you still could get away with it.
Jo has since explained that she uses the 'like' feature on Twitter to archive things she finds interesting and wants to have a closer look at. Many believe that she probably got interested in Berns' content while writing one of the Cormoran Strike novels, a crime novel series that often explores the themes of male violence and misogyny.
in december of 2019, Jo made a tweet in support of Maya Forstater, who lost her job after misgendering a non binary colleague.
Tumblr media
After this tweet, it became forbidden to follow her on Twitter if you were a TRA. Things got worse in June of 2020, when Jo reacted to an article talking about period poverty while referring to women as 'people who menstruate':
Tumblr media
Right afterwards, she made a thread going more in details about how transactivism harms women and LGB people:
Tumblr media
(I'm pretty sure there was another, longer thread but I can't find it)
After this, former HP actors like Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson accused her of transphobia, while other actors (namely Evanna Lynch and Robbie Coltrane) defended her. She got thousands and thousands of death and rape threats, was called sexist slurs, and was threatened with doxing.
A few weeks later, she published an essay on her website, explaining her views. It is a very well-written and insightful essay that I recommend to read:
And that's pretty much it. As you can see, her position is pretty tamed. She has never been rude to anyone, she just defended sex-based rights, lesbians' right not to sleep with men, and using language accordingly. She helped thousands of poor women with her charity work, funded a rape crisis center, uplifted Iranian women, supported LGB activists and helped a hundred Afghan women escape the Talibans, but because of a few Twitter threads she made, her entire political activism has been misconstructed and boiled down to "she is a fascist who hates trans people"

how can i talk about how this show makes me feel, when i do not even know who i would be without it?
when i watched JCS for the first time, i was 13 years old and halfway through my confirmation classes. i was uncomfortable with the catholic church as an institution, and with my own faith in its god (or, rather, my increasing lack thereof). i knew that, at the very least, my doubts being what they were, i shouldn’t have gone through with the sacrament. but my church and my family dismissed my concerns at every turn.
my mother wearily advised me not to make things difficult and just get it over with, and that i could stop going to church afterwards if i wanted. she was a catholic who went through the motions. she didn’t understand that i was in very real spiritual distress. i asked our instructor once if being confirmed made it hard to convert to another religion. she said, “if you’re confirmed, no matter what, the holy spirit will always be with you.” i think she meant it to be comforting. but, to me, it just sounded like a threat.
in the judas iscariot that JCS puts forth, i found someone who would have understood. someone who can’t decide if he believes or not, who can’t decide if he *wants* to or not. someone whose distress, both spiritual and temporal, is dismissed by the true believers in J.C. and the non-believers in J.C. alike. someone who is at war with his loved ones and his god and himself all at the same time.
i watched judas die, and i watched jesus die, and i decided, in that moment, that i would not. not because of the fucking catholic church, anyway. no faith, and no god, would ever have the power to take my life from me.
there are things about JCS that frustrate me incredibly: the antisemitism in the portrayal of the pharisees; the lack of female characters besides mary magdalene (no salome? no martha? no veronica? no mary of nazareth???); the increasing unwillingness of productions to *actually* be subversive. (ask me about the “gethsemane” lyric change at your own risk.) but it is so, so dear to me nonetheless. i wouldn’t be the same without it. i might not even be here without it.

St. Mary Magdalene was a prominent figure in all the gospels. Therefore suggesting that the four gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) knew her first hand. Mary Magdalene had demons expelled from her by Christ...
"Soon afterward [Jesus] went on through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means," (Luke 8:1-3).
Mary Magdalene was present at and witnessed Christ’s crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. The Resurrected Christ appeared first to Mary Magdalene...
"When he had risen, early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons," (Mark 16:9).
Mary Magdalene became known as the apostle to the apostles so-called by St. Thomas Aquinas. Mary Magdalene is patron saint of repentant sinners and the contemplative life. Her feast day is July 22.

Don't remember when or where but I remember someone saying that with all the christian imagery, Meryl would likely be paralleled to the Virgin Mary, but I actually think Rem already fulfills that role (human mother of a half-divine child?) what if instead she's equated to Mary Magdalene? All the way down to the divided views on her as a former whore (Knives would totally call her a human corruption for Vash), as the first saint or as Jesus's wife... sorry for the rambling, I'll see myself out >_>'
Yeah, no, Mary Magdalene makes so much more sense.
Like, Rem being the Virgin Mary is like , so obvious, she literally gets 2 kids outta nowhere from an angel???
But yeah, it's been a long ass while since I brushed up on the bible but I do remember Mary Magdalene also being right there with Jesus, accompanying him as he carried his cross, whiping away sweat and blood as he walked the painful path to his doom, and stuck around even afterwards.
If that aint Meryl then I dunno who is.

yay I'm back at writing A Friendly Heart! (my last unicorn dreamling au) Have a bit of chapter 5! A bit of Hob's back story and POV (for clarity, Hob is not immortal and has never met Dream in this)
Hob Gadling was a patient man. He took things in stride – life was life, and one just had to roll with it and enjoy it, that was his way of seeing things. He found enjoyment in all kinds of things, small things more than grand ones. Hob did not care about wealth and titles, but they certainly made living a lot easier. Becoming Roderick Burgess’ security and occasional handler of dangerous business wasn’t something he’d have seen himself doing ten years ago, but the position certainly came with its benefits. Hob had always been a thief. When his father drank himself to death after his mother died of consumption when Hob was ten, he’d had to learn hard and fast how to survive on London’s streets if he didn’t want to be caught and put into a work house. He’d met enough kids on the street who’d been there and afterwards preferred the streets. So Hob kept his head low and became a shadow, waiting patiently for his chance, picking pockets with a skill he was envied for. He was also smart and could charm and talk his way out of a scrap with a compelling smile. Hob learned that people generally underestimated a child with an honest face like his. When he grew older, his friends told him he had puppy dog eyes, meaning to insult him jokingly, but Hob only smiled and counted himself very lucky to have been well equipped by nature to fool the next bobby who tried to catch him red-handed. The older he got the more ambitious and daring he got in his attempts to steal from the wealthy. He and his few trusted friends got themselves a reputation before long, and rather than being pushed into the Thames for infringing on territory, the established gangs of London took to hiring them to stick out their necks for them. After a few years of this, Hob had done quite a bit of business for a few of London’s finest criminally inclined people – meaning finding and bartering artifacts, antiques and rare pieces of art the rich were grappling and the museums crying over. After a time he knew all the black market sellers, all the ship captains, all the art dealers, and he made a name for himself in certain circles with his persistence, patience and diligence. Burgess had contacted him two years ago and asked him to find a rare book for him – the Magdalene Grimoire. Hob had found the book easily enough – it belonged to the British Museum. Not an easy target to steal from, so Hob rather used subterfuge to infiltrate the museum staff and find out who could be compromised.
Mr John Hathaway was a nervous, sad wreck of a man since his son had died in the war overseas, something he had in common with Hob’s newest employer, as it turned out. Hob had made introductions, and couldn’t even take credit for the rest, because Hathaway had turned the book over himself after whatever Burgess promised him. Hob had not been privy to that conversation.
Afterwards, Burgess had asked him if he wanted to work for him exclusively, and Hob had accepted immediately when the man handed him 100 pounds as if it wasn’t a common man’s yearly income.
For the last two years Hob had helped track down various artifacts for Burgess – necklaces, bottled body parts, ancient scrolls, even a supposed angel’s feather – a lot of occult stuff that Hob had simply shrugged about. If his employer was so bored that becoming a practitioner of dark magic amused him, who was Hob to say anything? He was being paid very well and didn’t care. It was all nonsense anyway, he thought. Until the first man started to get up again after being clearly stabbed to death. Hob knew, he had done the stabbing. The bastard had tried to hurt his friend, Polly, and Hob couldn’t have that. The fight had turned rough and although Hob didn’t enjoy killing, if it was him or the other one the choice was clear. So he knew that the guy was dead, should be dead – and still he coughed, and got up, and looked around and down at himself in confusion.
Hob had grabbed his friend and ran. After that, the whispers of dead people not staying dead grew louder in the city, until the newspapers printed about it. Until the dead could no longer be ignored, huddling in the streets and on churchyards.
Burgess had made Hob his security guard at that time. Hob had accepted this offer as well. The manor was away from London and safe and it was a comfortable job until this madness settled, he thought. He would wait, patient as ever. Instead, it got only worse.
When Hob had laid eyes on the three newcomers last night, he had at first been annoyed. More tragic pilgrims, come to ask the magus for refuge. Burgess rarely granted it and people were sent away in droves, crying and begging. These would probably be no different and Hob pitied the two women and their companion. Hob had looked at him a bit longer than was maybe appropriate but the man had fascinated him instantly. He was barefoot and wore a long cream-colored coat that didn’t fit him well. Underneath he wore what looked like nothing but a black sheet of fabric, wrapped around him like a toga. Had the man been robbed? It happened all the time these days, and especially if one looked like he would be blown over by a strong gust of wind. This man certainly looked frail and yet his eyes were a stormy piercing blue that looked back at Hob with defiance, as if daring him to pity him. His skin was as white as marble, his hair like an unruly nest of raven’s feathers. Hob had felt his heart beat a bit faster at the man’s unwavering gaze and quickly turned to handling the determined small woman and her demands.

More twinning! Rose Basket with lovely rabbitreverie 💐
She came to visit back in June and we threw together this coord in a hurry. We met for tea and walked around the city afterwards--I also couldn't help but share this cute picture of our reflection in a shop window☺️
It's not so common to find Mary Magdalene lovers these days, and it was so nice to chat with her. Thanks for hanging out!💖
