Korn pulls the rag out of Kim’s mouth and offers him water. He’s not stupid enough to refuse. It’s been days out here in the surf, nothing but the salt spray to moisten his tongue, drying thick and heavy in his mouth, sticky on his skin.

“Sing,” Korn orders when he finishes.

Kim refuses, staring mutinously up at his father.

“Sing, Kimhan. Don’t make this harder than it has to be. Sing for me. Then it will all be over.”

Silence. His father won’t get a single word, a single note, from him.

A sigh. The man at his father’s side steps forward and drives a fist into his stomach. Kim locks his jaw and doesn’t make a sound. Not so much as a whimper.

“Kimhan.” Kim would sooner cut out his own tongue than let Korn use it against Chay. Kim already built his fathers empire. He’s done enough. “Very well. I had hoped to be done with this business quickly. Instead we shall wait for your brothers’ return.”

Kim’s head snaps up, eyes wide. No. No, Kinn wouldn’t.

His father is smiling now.

“Oh yes. Kinn set sail with Khun just yesterday, in search of your precious creature. I’m sure it won’t take them long. Well… not long for me. You, on the other hand.” Korn looks around the unprotected surf. “How long will you last? Do you think your mother’s blood will be enough to protect you from the elements until their return?”

No. Kim has always been very, very human in that regard.

“I hope you know how much this pains me, Kimhan. I want nothing more than to bring you home. You’re my son. I wouldn’t leave you if there were any other choice.” Kim wants to scream that he has never been his father’s son, only another part of his collection, free only so long as he was useful. “But I can see that you’ve made your choice. Very well. Goodbye, son.”

Watching his father walk away, Kim wishes he were like the sirens from the stories he’s heard. Fearsome beasts able to bewitch men, to summon devastating storms and caustic rain. Maybe then he could make his father free him.

Valiant x Menagerie: Due to the nature of the Special course, Aizawa can't really expel anyone. But, stuck between one kid who's obviously doing Vigilante work in his off-time, and a lovechild between Miruko and a blender, he really wishes he could.

Weiss visiting Menagerie is actually really interesting.

Not just because she is a Schnee in the land of Faunus. But because of her colour palette, I imagine she would be like when full on pale white (ghost) people visit countries who have never seen that before and they are just a beacon of pictures and excited kids who have never seen something like this being kids. (**Cough** Blake watching her interact with them kindly **Cough**)

This feels like an alternative volume 4 but with Weiss there instead of Sun.

And the Ilia chase suddenly gets a lot scarier as well as her kidnapping attempt. Cause I imagine that would actually bridge out towards Weiss as well and they'd be more prepared in a way? Cause I bet they wouldn't miss on the opportunity.
