Sophia: You and Kate are having so much fun together. I can tell you were so amused watching the boys do karaoke.

Joy: That was hysterical. 

Sophia: It's so funny them dancing. I died! I like that they had them doing some of the same choreography. I just couldn't stop laughing. They're boys forever. 

Joy: James commits so hard. 

Hilarie: Oh my god! Who was that guy on stage? Listen, we spent years, we spent the better part of our twenties singing karaoke in Wilmington and you know who never came? James Lafferty. Never! And he's all in this scene... hilarious! The dance moves? Who is that guy?

Sophia: It was so good.

Joy: He's never met a challenge, like a reasonable challenge that he's said no to. I think they just knew that they could write him anything and he would do it. 

Sophia: And what I also really liked is you get to see-- we see James and Stephen's friendship so clearly in this episode and the way they egg each other on and you're like, yeah of course they went on and made "Everyone Is Doing Great," of course they're business partners. Look at them! They in this episode gave me a lot of like Brooke and Peyton and their lifelong thing energy. And that's a big thing to create between two characters who are newer friends on screen and it's sweet. 

Hilarie: i was just gonna say, the bromance in this episode, I really responded to. I liked seeing the little boys and the big boys. We've had conversations about toxic masculinity. I think at a certain point little boys are allowed to have close friendships and it's adorable and we applaud it and they share their feelings with each other and it's so special and then at some point they're made to feel weird about that. And so they bottle stuff up and they don't do silly shit together anymore. And so seeing these boys play together was so sweet and I like that our show did that. I thought that Chad did a good job directing that. I like that he directed just like silly boy time. Silly boy time is my favorite kind of boy time.

Some of my hopes and predictions for VA season 2 (if we get one):

Dimitri becomes a double agent and pretends to serve the new Queen Tatiana

Mia, Meredith, Eddie, Mason, Christian etc go full on scooby gang and try to meddle with Tatiana's rule and expose her

Alchemists are real bad and hate all the vampires (I think tv alchemists will be a combination of alchemists and warriors from the books)

Rose and Lisa meet alchemists while in the human world and get in trouble with them, so Rose reaches out to her father and Zmey pushes Sydney to help the girls out

Sydney Sage Sydney Sage Sydney Sage (I NEED her to show up). And I hope they will age her up a bit and make her at least a 20-22yo. And since we are changing characters anyway, I want her to be colder and more violent(i mean, she did take keith's eye in the books, there is a potential)

Chapter 3: Cheers another year

Mia inserted her room key in the door and the green light illuminated.

After she made herself comfortable she unpack her toiletries and put her Veuve Clicquot Rose in her rooms fridge to chill. She hopped in the shower and played afro beats.

20 minutes later wrapped in a towel Mia sat on the bed and began to decide where she wanted to eat dinner. She picked a high rated steak house and made reservations for one. After a day of travel Mia took a nap but made sure to set an alarm.

Mia never had to set alarms in her life but did so out of habit. However, it never failed that Mia would always wake up right before her alarm would be set to go off- it was like she had an internal alarm clock. Her body always knew just when to get up.

Mia got dressed in a casual but very cute white dress, her favorite chunky white sandals, and gold accessories. She called and Uber and headed for dinner.

Mia opted to sit at the bar when asked, that way she could people watch and it would push her to engage in conversation if someone were bold enough to talk to her.

After Mia ordered her drink and food, she absently checked her phone and halted when she saw a text from her ex.

Chance: Hey. I hope you have a good birthday.

What bothered Mia most about the text was that her birthday wasn't until tomorrow.

Her and Chance hadn't spoken for 2 months after Mia finally put her foot down and broke off the relationship for good. Chance had been dragging his feet in just about every aspect of their relationship and Mia was fed up.

So instead of sending a long text about how disappointed she was that their relationship failed-she put her phone down and decided to enjoy her Lemon Blueberry mojito.

Mia was enjoying her food and light conversation with her attentive bartender when a tall brown skin gentlemen asked her if the seat next to her was available.

Mia barely looked at him when she responded that it was. The handsome man moved the seat slightly away from Mia in an effort not to crowd her. As he sat down …he sized Mia up subtly to see if she was open to engage in conversation.

Handsome: Is the steak any good?

Mia was in the middle of a sip from her drink when she looked at the man seated next to her.

He was FINE. He had a close hair cut with slight waves, his beard was neatly trimmed and he had a few grays. His eyes were warm dark brown almost matching his chocolate complexion. When he talked he smiled halfway.

Mia: I think so. I would offer you some...but you know, germs.

Handsome: I would take the chance on those germs

Mia smiled.

The handsome man did not have an accent that she could place. He ordered some type of a bourbon. Neat. After taking a small sip he introduced himself.

Handsome: Im Andre

Mia: Mia

They both exchanged smiles. After their brief introduction Andre order steak frites.

Mia and Andre talked and laughed for what seemed like hours. Mia learned that Andre was in town for SXSW like Xavier and many others that weekend. He came to the steakhouse to get away from the busy trendy restaurants near all the SXSW activities.

Time got away from Mia and she finally looked at her phone to see two text messages. One from Xavier and one from Chance. She only opened the one from Xavier.

X: want to meet for a drink? We can just sit at the bar at your hotel, so you don't have to go far?

Mia: Sure. Im finishing up dinner:

X: cool, see you in 30?

Mia: sounds good

Mia asked for her check and then excused herself from Andre to use the restroom before closing her tab and heading out and meeting X for a drink.

Inside the bathroom she blotted her face and smiled at the ease of the conversation with Andre. She wondered if they would exchange numbers.

When Mia came back... the seat next to hers was empty. Mia was a little sad she didn’t at least get to say goodbye.

Mia picked up the black folder to take a look at her check only to find a blank slip of paper with small writing.

Andre's P.O.V

"I can't believe I'm going through with this." I turn to my friend Beck. He shrugs.

"It could be fun Andre." Beck says.

Hes right it could be, but I've never met her before. I'm going on a blind date with someone I've never met, never talked to, never anything. Shes just a friend of a friend of a friend.

"Why am I doing this again?" I say as I fix my hair.

"Because you owe me, and it's not like it's a double date, me and Mia will be at one table, you and her friend (Y/N) at another." Beck slips on his shoes and ties them.

"You're not nervous are you Andre?" Beck teases.

"Just annoyed, we're even after this." I sigh and open the front door ready to leave. "To the restaurant we go." I mumble.

(Y/N)'a P.O.V

"Mia this is embarrassing!" You dramatically fall back onto the bed.

"No it's not, what is embarrassing is saying you'll bring a friend and showing up friendless. You cant back out now!" Mia explains as she puts on her makeup.

"You didnt need to say you'll bring a friend, he didnt ask if you had one. You asked him. You set me up!" You flail your arms about.

"Yes I did, now get dressed, but on that cute top, you know the one that brings out your eyes." Mia fusses.

"What if he hates me?" You get up and move to the closet.

"He hasnt met you, therefore he cant hate you! Unless you've been doing shady stuff behind my back, which I would not appreciate I am your ride or die." Mia leans closer to the mirror and puts on mascara.

"I'd never do anything shady or illegal with out you." You blow a kiss at Mia as you find the top.

"Good. Now let's go!" Mia grabs your arm and drags you to the car.

"To the restaurant we go." You mumble.

At the restaurant

Your friend Mia ran up to a tall brown haired boy you recognize as her date. She showed you way too many photos of him, yet none of this Andre.

"This is my friend (Y/N)." Mia introduces you to him.

"I'm Beck and this is my friend Andre." Beck gestures to a guy standing behind him.

Your breath caught, in your throat, hes cute, but he looks miserable. Your group heads into the restaurant and split up. Mia and Beck at one table, you and Andre at another.

Andre sat across from you, emotionless and barely speaking. After the waiter took your drink order you clear your throat.

"Damn am I that bad?" You joke.

He looks at you, eyebrows raise, mouth slack. "No! It's nothing like that. I just dont know you and this is a little weird." Andre pushed his hair out of his face.

"Well I'm (Y/N)." You reach across the table to shake his hand.

He meets you halfway, "And I'm Andre." He giggles

"My favorite color is (F/C), my favorite animal is (F/A), and my zodiac sign is (Z/S)."

"Ah, a (Z/S) that is semi compatible with Cancers. Well, my favorite color is blue, my favorite animal is a giraffe and well my zodiac is  cancer obviously." He giggles again causing you to join him.

The blind date was silly and fun. Full of laughs and he asked you on a second date, how cute!

okay i’ve been distracted all day at work thinking about my thoughts re: the vampire academy reveal so here we go: ⬇️

rose: sisi stringer gets my tick of approval (not that anyone cares lmao), she is gorgeous she is fierce (and she’s australian so you KNOW i’m gonna support her) and i am HERE for some diversity in the cast. questioning the description where it says she’s the strongest fighter in her class because uhh she missed two years of training right? i’m assuming lissa and rose still ran away in this adaption?? she was so bad at combat that dimitri had to train her out of hours just to catch her up to her peers?? not a huge negative for me though, we all know rose is a badass & she caught up super quick to her classmates anyway so not a big deal

lissa: daniela nieves looks sweet but also like she could stab you, which is exactly the vibe is get from lissa (except lissa wouldn’t stab someone ofc, she would just compel them into thinking they were stabbed). i don’t mind that she doesn’t look like book lissa, but i do wonder if it will effect the little insecurities and jealousies that rose has around lissa in the books, but honestly they aren’t pivotal to the plot so idc. also i know everyone is talking about the “younger sister to the heir apparent” part of her description, honestly i think this is just in reference to andre taking the title of prince dragomir not the actual throne, but i could be wrong idk we’ll see and i mean she ends up as queen anyway soooo

dimitri: i was sold at kieron moore’s cheekbones tbh. and he’s actually 24! that’s right folks normal twenty-four years olds don’t look thirty! i’m loving his insta interactions already so i feel like he’s captured who dimitri is already, and i’m sure he can put on a russian accent perfectly well please please let him have a russian accent. still wondering if they will mess with his age, but i’m going to assume he’s still 24, judging by the description, and that maybe rose has been aged up?? idk, i just can’t wait to see him with long hair and a duster

christian: YES. andrè dae kim is 100% the closest character visually to what i imagined! love this!! getting the vibe that he’ll be the one to make the st vladimir connection? book christian didn’t come off as being very studious, except when it came to helping lissa, but he was also a total smartass so who knows what he got up to outside of rose’s POV. very keen to see that his backstory isn’t being brushed off and overall absolutely love him!!

victor: i never actually gave much thought to how victor looks, so j august richards is great in my books! i’m very keen to see some lgbtq+ representation in this series, but i’m kinda concerned that they’ve chosen (who i presume will be) the series’ villain to be the one in a same-sex relationship?? i’m also a bit confused & very curious about him having two daughters?? natalie is such a pivotal part of book one, unless they’re splitting her part into two i’m not sure how this would work? though a part of me wonders if they’re going to make robert doru’s character a child of victor’s, or even avery lazar’s character his child?? idk but should be interesting

tatiana: VOGEL??? this is where i get super confused. she sounds like tasha (without the relation to christian), but her name is tatiana but she’s also clearly not queen tatiana soooo ??? i saw a very cool post from @sydneysageivashkov talking about how they think there might be multiple timelines involved, in which case vogel could be a maiden/married name for queen tatiana?? that would be cool. regardless, not really sure what is happening here but i guess we’ll see 🤷🏼‍♀️

mia: KARP??? again, i am confused. i can definitely see her having book mia’s doll-like cute features, and i’m not too fussed about her not having the curly blonde hair tbh as someone who has naturally curly blonde hair i absolutely hate seeing others with it because of the second hand pain lmao. now getting to the part we all actually care about in mia’s description: lgbtq+ mia!! oh my fuckin god i am HEEEEEERE for this, mia has always been gay let’s be real here folks, i love this. also is she going to be related to sonya karp?????? questionsssss
