The Case of Love Lost
Rp with @heavenly--knight, @high-seraphim-sisters and anyone in Hazbin Hotel's heaven that wants to interact.
Basil sighed as he walked into the court house, wearing his new suit that was a beautiful white coat with a long train that looked like a peacock tail, a gold dress vest over a white dress shirt with the peacock pendant Michael gave him pinned to it, white slacks and black shoes. He had his beautiful soft, wavy light brown hair done in a bun hairstyle with a gold oak leaf hair clip. He walked into the courtroom and sat on the defendant side due to now being a defense attorney.
It had been several months since he last saw Michael or been to the courthouse. He was still heartbroken from how Michael acted and what he said to him. He dreaded seeing his ex(?) in that courtroom but he had his poker face on so no one could see his pain.

Neil is up to something
there is an excellent post (that I've blimming lost) about how Neil is very familiar with magic tricks but read this wonderful compilation of metas and you'll get the idea - NEW Crackpotting Theory Tracker
Magic plays a big part in Good Omens - and Neil is up to his own magic trick. Sendarya talked about how the kiss is a misdirection to the audience from what is actually happening
so let's get rid of the kiss (because I definitely find it distracting!) and let's look at what happens between Metatron and Aziraphale in 2x06
This is not an angel that wants to return to Heaven. He looks bored, like he doesn't even know why Metatron is there or why he's talking to HIM about who the next Supreme Archangel should be.
"Michael?" it's like he couldn't give less of a toss if he tried
Tumblr media
he's just like hmm? yeah ok, super interesting, can i leave now
Tumblr media
When Metatron suggests Azi should take over as Supreme Archangel, he looks horrified. this is not good news, at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Metatron tries to sweet talk him. You're so honest, such a good leader~
Azi isn't convinced.
"I've been looking back over a number of your... previous exploits, and I see that in quite a few of them you formed a-"
Tumblr media
THAT EYE TWITCH
"-de facto partnership with the demon Crowley."
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THIS REACTION. fear. worry. panic. guilt(?). we see that fight or flight response kick in - the eye movements, the swallow.
Can I point out, WE NEVER SEE AZI'S IMMEDIATE REACTION TO THIS OFFER. But I think we know that it's not a positive reaction - he knows what Crowley thinks of Heaven.
What we do see is the end of that conversation, and Azi is nervous and faking smiles. He is now agreeing to go along with Metatron's plan, even though the last time we saw him, he was completely resisting it. Something happened to cause this change.
Tumblr media
It's very possible that Aziraphale has now made his own plan, but he has to make it seem like he's going along with Metatron's plan. The Metatron is very direct to Aziraphale that he knows about his relationship with Crowley, and as we know, Aziraphale is terrified of Crowley being destroyed. This was perceived as a threat to Crowley and possibly humanity, and Metatron's bombshell "the Second Coming" definitely extended that threat to humanity, which Azi is a fierce protector of.
"But what am I?" "You're just an angel who goes along with Heaven as far as you can."
This angel did not want to return to Heaven. This angel is essentially being held hostage and is trying to save the two things he loves most from complete and utter destruction.
Fell the Marvellous has saved Crowley before, in 1941, with a perfectly timed sleight of hand. Now this time he must save everything, with his own death-defying 'bullet catch'.
What Neil is up to, well. I don't think we'll know until we see it. A good magician never tells.
Edit: 'Trust Me' - Aziraphale's Season 3 'Bullet Catch'

Crowley’s fatal flaw is curiosity. He is fundamentally an optimist, although he tries not to be. He likes to explore, and snoop around places he shouldn’t go, and ask questions, and use the funny new human technologies. He likes watching things grow. He’s a creator.
His first gift to humanity was knowledge.
Now Aziraphale is fundamentally a realist, even a pessimist. Before he even knew that it was possible to Fall, he was afraid about what seeming to go up against The Plan could mean. He worries about the potential horrible outcomes of everything, even going unarmed into the wilderness. He wants to keep everyone safe, even if that sometimes means doing hard things to ensure an ultimate good. He’s a protector.
His first gift to humanity was a weapon.
One of these beings usually sits in a shop devoted to the passing on of knowledge, but doesn’t actually want to pass it on to anyone. One of these beings refuses to bring harm any innocent thing when there is a chance he can reduce suffering.
Heaven has assumed that Aziraphale’s fatal flaw is that he’s soft, and weak willed. That he’s someone easy to manipulate. But they’re wrong. Because Aziraphale is not soft, and his fatal flaw is his inability to compromise on his beliefs.
Now, I don’t know about anyone else. But to me, one of those two beings sounds a lot more unpredictable and dangerous than the other, and it’s not the one currently crying to Michael Bublé in a car full of plants. The one I’m more concerned about is currently being given the tools to bring about the end of the world.
And God knows what he did with the last tool heaven gave him.

i think this shot from episode 1 is criminally underrated. the comedic cut to michael and the alarm ringing in heaven is incredibly funny but it also distracts from it a lot. this is about to be some more unhinged rambling that probably wildly overestimates the meaning this scene holds but it's fun so here we go.
Tumblr media
the first thing i find interesting is that the way aziraphale suggests it, it sounds like this is not the first time they have done half a miracle each. not with these stakes and with someone in the middle, but potentially as part of their arrangement or to hide the two of them from their respective head offices.
secondly, although aziraphale is the one to suggest it, it's crowley who checks if it took, which falls in line with the protector role he likes to take (and his probably unhealthy, trauma-based paranoia).
thirdly, and what i find incredibly intriguing, is the fact that the entire thing happens on the circle rug, which covers aziraphale's chalk/summoning circle. i do not think that positioning is accidental, and i still subscribe to the idea that part of why the miracle is visible from heaven (and as far as we know, hell does NOT notice on their own) is due to the fact that the circle + gabriel broadcast it like a signal. a signal that goes only up since the circle is only intended for communicate with heaven.
tying back to point two, there's just something incredibly symbolic about crowley being the one to quite literally reach up towards heaven and i can't help but be reminded of the scene in season 1 where he talks to god.
Tumblr media
the angle is similar, a shot from above with crowley right at the center, and him looking up. the first scene is honestly quite heartbreaking and he does not get any answer from god, as expected. while he attempts to talk to god, it is aziraphale who actually, if accidentally, goes to heaven. he does not get any answers either, but he is still 'above' crowley and can get closer to god (at least in spirit), though i think ultimately this is me being clinically insane and probably does not hold any significance. it does for me though.
we also get the line "you shouldn't test them (humanity) to destruction", which is EXACTLY what happened with crowley and aziraphale.
crowley reached for heaven but it was aziraphale who actually went, and they got tested to destruction. now they need to put themselves and each other back together.

I know that Aziraphale's words/actions/reactions of the final-fifteen™ have been dissected and discussed (and will continue to be I hope because I live for the theories and analysis!) and caused many and varied opinions, but I think in the emotional chaos of that final episode, it's easy to overlook the opening 1 minute and 11 seconds.
Because episode 5 flows straight into episode 6, I feel like we get caught up in the
Tumblr media Tumblr media
of it all (me included!). But what we see in the opening moments of the final episode is Aziraphale taking control, giving clear directions to JimGabriel, even when Nina asks if she can ask 'just one simple question', his response, 'if I hear one, of course' somehow holds a certain authority. Even his answer, 'three questions, none of them simple' - I can't explain it, but there is a specific choice there that Michael has made in delivering these lines, to show that when required, Aziraphale has command.
We see capable, calm Aziraphale working to come up with a plan, yes, but we also see the takes-no-shit Aziraphale when Shax throws open the bookshop doors and threatens, 'you're going to let us in, whether you like it or not'.
Aziraphale is unwavering here. I'd even go so far to say, fierce. His drop in tone, his stance, there isn't even an option here for Shax.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from the terrible image quality, what we see here is Aziraphale's ability to be protector and commander.
I cannot help but feel that it is very deliberate that we are reminded at the very beginning of episode 6 of this side of Aziraphale, that he is not simply easily manipulated or bullied. Bookend it with that final moment, in the elevator on his way back to heaven
Tumblr media
Whether any or none of the theories floating around turn out to be true, one thing that has been set in motion from that first scene in the final episode is that Aziraphale is an angel who can and will stand his ground, take control and do what he needs to to protect what's important. And I'm going to guess that will come to pass pretty early on next season and that heaven will have underestimated the angel for the last time.

Archangels, Angels or how the show could write itself
I mentioned in one of my posts that Miss Medrano got even the Angelic choirs wrong and by opening up wikipedia page, I also had to refresh my memory with how it works - also on Pinterest are great visuals, alright, let's begin.
I'm going to briefly touch up on Seraphims and Cherubs as they were also used wrong - at least to the knowledge I gathered.
Also, keep in mind there are different versions of each so I'm using the general knowledge that I have, if you want to get deeper into it, I strongly advise to do research on your own.
Also also, I'm taking some info exchanged with another user, sound off in the notes or reblog so I could give proper credit.
Seraphim - they are right under God, singing his praises. They have six wings, flying with one pair, covering their body with two pairs of wings, as if to not blind with their Holy light or to not outshine the great Allfather. So...by this information alone, whoever saw Sera's body (Emily's too...is she a Seraphim? *quick wiki check* Yes, yes, she is) They should be blind or down on their knees as they are moved by their beauty.
Cherubs or Cherubim - dear Allfather upstairs, this one hurts - they are under Seraphims and they respond directly to God and are the protectors of Garden of Eden with their flaming swords.
"But then, who could she use for the C.H.E.R.U.B.S. episode?!" I can hear you say?
*holy trumpets*
Watcher Angels.
Watcher Angels are both good and bad and as the name suggests, they are watching over humans on Earth and many of them descended to couple with human women, which Nephilims were born - blood thirsty giants ( Asmodeus was also born from this coupling but it is one of many versions, in some he's born from Lilith and Adam which I won't get into details.)
And boom. You have a story to use against Haven and some criticism - how Watcher Angels weren't punished but instead one of their children - Asmodeus.
I would also like to make a suggestion: Replace Adam with Kushiel: 'Rigid one of God' one of seven angels of punishment, who punishes individuals in Hell.
There, angel who's main purpose is to punish and no need to make Adam, The First Man into a dumb jock.
And if you want to have a female representative in Heaven - Archangel Ariel: The Lioness of God is right there or if you want someone more popular Archangel Gabriel has both male and female forms. Archangel Jophiel: The Beauty of God is female too but I don't think she would fit very much.
If you want potential angst, Archangel Michael is there.
The Angelic Choir is also very vast and rich and it is just one click away with modern technology.
(Not joking, I found Angelic Choir on pinterest)

Game Fun Facts 201-220
Celestial Realm Special
• In the celestial realm, Raphael never trusted Mammon in his room
• Mammon as an angel sold bird feathers and told lesser angels they were seraph feathers and tricked them into buying them
• Mammon almost fell from the celestial realm thousands of years before the war thanks to his shenanigans. Thankfully Lucifer stepped in
• Asmouse in the celestial realm was known as the Jewel of the Celestial Realm
• Among the seraphs Simeon was known to be the most care free and accepting
• After Lucifer’s fall, Michael kept his ring and stored it in his room secretly, though Simeon knew it was there
• Lucifer recommended Beelzebub as the next Seraph. This makes Beelzebub the second highest in position out of his brothers in the celestial realm
• Angels can be both seraph and archangel. Though archangel is the second highest rank, their job is to be leaders and protectors of the other ranks. Michael and Raphael are both seraphs and archangels
• The brothers are most “homesick” for celestial realm food
• After falling Lucifer didn’t realize he’d been made into a demon until Barbatos pointed it out. This is likely because he was unconscious as he fell from heaven as shown in an animation from a UR+ card
• Lucifer and his brothers had lived in the celestial realm palace
• Levi and a few of his brothers had a secret room they’d hide in when they needed a break from work
• Leviathan was general of the celestial navy and after it was made redundant thanks to Diavolo wanting peace, he became bored and his inferiority/useless complex developed
• Michael was supposed to be the one to visit Diavolo for the first time but got Lucifer to do it instead
• Originally Lucifer only intended to leave the celestial realm not become demons. He even told Michael who was distressed by this. When Lilith was sentenced to be erased from existence is when the plans changed
• When Lilith fell in love, Lucifer spied on her and her partner time to time
• Asmodeus and Lucifer met because Lucifer liked surrounding himself with the best of the best and Asmodeus was the most beautiful Angel. Likewise Asmodeus was in awe and “obsessed” with Lucifer. Their bond later became brotherly
• Angels all see each other as brothers and sisters. An interesting detail of this in the game can be seen in Lucifer and Simeon’s chat name (brothers no more) not because they aren’t close but because Lucifer is not a heavenly brother
• The brothers all had portraits in the celestial palace but they were removed following the war
• Raphael is a hitman for the celestial realm and assumably usually carries out his tasks through his rain of spears, his ability to call forth spears from the heavens

I was reading this great meta by @fuckyeahisawthat about Aziraphale and Crowley metaphorically switching places— from Crowley being the giver of Knowledge and the freedom of choice to humanity and Aziraphale being the protector, by giving humans the flaming sword to Crowley being the protector of humanity and Aziraphale granting knowledge and freedom of choice.
Tumblr media
But this made something click into place for me that I’d been turning over in my mind for a while: what if it’s not just freedom and knowledge and choice for humanity… what if Aziraphale functionally brings freedom and choice and knowledge to everyone!
I mean, one thing I haven’t really seen anyone talking about is the contrast between the portrayal of angels and demons (generally) in S1 and specific angels and demons in S2. The first season really set Heaven and Hell up as full of a lot of characters who had their own quirks and unique aspects, but still functioned very well as cogs in the same type of machine.
Gabriel and Beelzebub are the most obvious examples, since they had the biggest pivot in S2: suddenly it’s not just Aziraphale and Crowley who are the special ones.
Tumblr media
We get to see these two other characters have thoughts and desires and aspirations beyond that of following their angelic/demonic natures or furthering the cause of their respective sides. S2 really humanizes both of these characters who were (in S1) the best real example that we saw of an official representative of the corporate goings-on from each side. God and Satan were there in S1, but in a much less visible way (and even LESS visible in S2).
But even beyond Beez and Gabe, S2 took careful steps to humanize a lot of other ethereal/occult characters as well. We see Michael both confident and shaken, sarcastic and unsure. Strong, but with aspirations to go Higher. Uriel pushes back, questions authority, and asks for reassurance that they’ve not done something wrong. Side note: I really hope we get to see more Uriel development bc Uriel has so much interesting potential to me.
Tumblr media
Muriel wasn’t in S1, but is an obvious parallel for early Aziraphale and we see a lot of similarities between them (their enthusiasm and delight at experiencing Earth, being believed when attempting a particular human job, enjoying books, etc).
Even the demons we see aren’t a monolith. Shax feels quite different from the classic evil demons we’ve met before. Furfur and Eric too. Although they’re doing demon stuff, none of these demons act all that demonic. We see even more hints at them struggling and learning and growing. Being… more human.
Tumblr media
Heck, even the demon with the scary mouth in E4, Astoreth, was just doing his job.
Tumblr media
So then what if the end of S2 is establishing Crowley as the defender of Humanity while positioning Aziraphale to share knowledge and the freedom of choice in heaven. If the ‘big battle’ that Crowley mentioned at the end of S1 is between Humanity and whoever is representing Heaven or Hell, maybe it’s time to give more ethereal and occult beings the opportunity to choose their own place in that fight.
Tumblr media
Because I think that Crowley is right that Heaven and Hell are toxic. And Aziraphale is right that they both can do good. And separating the two of them, as painful as it is to watch, could give Aziraphale the space to see glimpses of humanity in the other angels (and even demons?) while positioned in Heaven. And it could give Crowley... probably trust issues, actually. I guess let's put a pin in that part.
But come Season 3, I would love to see Crowley and Aziraphale positioned on opposite sides of the war to end all wars, Aziraphale representing Heaven (and Hell?) and Crowley alongside Humanity. But before anything truly awful happens, they do what they always do.
They’ll come up with a plan. And they'll rescue one another and themselves.
Tumblr media
And everything else and everyone else will fall into place around them.

Archangel Michael
Archangel Michael is famous for his strength, courage, and faith, making him the greatest protector and warrior of the heavens.
How to Communicate with Archangel Michael through Intention
Protecting your Being:
You may use this request to dissolve any fear or negativity, protect yourself from others’ toxic energies or psychic attacks, and keep your energetic field clear and aligned whenever you need it.
For example, if you go to a busy place like a supermarket or an airport, you may be picking up others’ energies and start to feel unbalanced.
If you’re struggling to keep your being clear and aligned, you may repeat the following statement to receive his support:
“Dear Archangel Michael,
Please clear any negativity, fear, or doubt from my being and fill me with your light and love.
Surround me with a protective shield of radiant blue light to protect my being from any energy that is not of light.
I thank you deeply for your presence in my life and for the support you provide.
And so it is. And so it is. And so it is.”
This is just an example of a request you can use. You can make it your own and adapt it to your needs. Do not worry about changing the wording, as the Archangel will always hear you if you put your heart into it.

What was Lucifer's reaction to Michael's fall?
Well he was the last one who to know about the news so clearly the guy was shocked. In his memories, his brother priorities Heaven and God's words more than anything. He sees those things as his purpose of life. He even rejected Luci's ideas in the past cuz Michael thought those ideas were silly and did nothing to help Heaven. The angel of Justice, Heaven's protector started a war???
He would rather believe someone was disguising as Michael and replace his brother than this bullshit of a news...
Heartbroken, disappointed and overwhelming... Lucifer felt all of that, especially when he was the one who was destined to defeat his own brother...

P.2 HH Lucifer-centric AU 4/?
STORY 1, PART 1, PART 2, PART 3, PART 5, PART 6, PART 7, PART 8, PART 9, PART 10, PART 11, PART 12, PART 13, PART 14
More on the siblings' program.
-----------------------------------------------
Lucifer stifled a chuckle as he observed his brother's expression. If only Michael knew that Lucifer had already been informed of his impending demise. He's more shocked that Heaven might be the cause of his death.
Heaven's really keen on killing him, huh.
Lucifer: I'm immortal! You're being ridiculous.
Michael: And you're being a fool! These threads just made a divine move. This had never happened before!
Lucifer: Then why tell me, huh?! Last I checked, you and Heaven could barely give a rat's ass about whether or not I'm still alive.
Michael: Because believe it or not, I do still care about you! You're my little brother, Samael!
Lucifer: I said my name is L̴͎̭̥͎͊̀u̷̧̨̟̻͓͗̍c̷̢̪̱̄̀̊̎̀͝ì̷̘͚̰̖̦̱f̴̻̮̲̮͈͈͑̓̃̃̊e̸̫̒͑͒͊͗͆r̸̨̤̀̂̚͝ͅͅ!
Sue him if he couldn't control the fiery words that erupted from his mouth. Michael always had a knack for provoking him, intentionally or not.
Lucifer: And you have a funny way of showing it. Did you know that the Fall almost killed us?! Lily and I had to lay there, surrounded by darkness, bodies so burnt we couldn't move for weeks.
Despite the looming threat posed by the King of Hell, Michael refuses to back down. Instead, he straightens his posture and closes the distance between them, showing the unwavering protector of Heaven that he is.
Michael: You don't understand! I- it was such a hard decision! It was the best option! I'm Heaven's protector and-
Lucifer: You were my protector too!
The Archangel was taken aback, a rare moment of vulnerability revealing itself in his features. Lucifer, observing this reaction, knows he has struck a chord. Despite Michael's claims of caring for his family, it's evident that Heaven had, and always has been his top priority.
Michael thinks about a lot of things too. Like how everything would've turned out different if he was never given this duty- this purpose.
Michael: They were going to kill you.
Lucifer couldn't remember the last time he had heard his brother speak to him with such softness.
Michael: Your original punishment was death. They wanted you killed. By my blade. We begged them to reconsider. You should've seen it-
The warrior of Heaven laughs wetly.
Michael: -the Archangels of Heaven, on their knees in front of people other than our Lord. It took so many meetings for them to relent. That's why you and Lilith spent a long time held in the Garden.
Lucifer: Shut up.
Michael: So, I'm really sorry that we let you down.
Lucifer: Shut up, Michael.
His brother once again composed himself, his gaze turning cold as it met Lucifer's.
Michael: But if I had the chance to go back, I would do it all over again.
Of course. Heaven always comes first.
Lucifer: You should've killed me when you had the chance. And now you think you can beat me at my own game?
He attempts to crush the thread still held in his hand, its glow resembling the purest gold. It seems to almost be trying to talk to him, to reason with him like Michael every time they meet. But it all sounds like mockery to his ears.
He hates it.
Lucifer lets out a manic laugh.
Lucifer: Divine move? Divine move? You think you have any moves at all?!
He begins to yell at the threads.
Lucifer: Maybe then, Heaven could've killed that weak, naive angel. But me? ME?! Ì̶̢̤̉'̵͙͕͑M̷̱͋̀ ̵̬͌T̴̥͠͝H̸̫́̑E̶̳̠̐̎ ̴̠̣̎̐D̷̼̕E̵̢̳͆V̶̳̩̉̋Ì̶̬L̴̥̗̾ ̴̮͝F̸̝̓̀Ų̸̠͗̑C̵͚͗K̷̺̚̚I̵̠̋̕Ň̸͎͈G̵̘̔ ̵̤͛I̸̩͐N̷̥̰̋C̸͓̒̍A̴̙̓R̵͍͛N̴̤͎͠A̵͇̟̓Ṯ̴̯͊Ḙ̴͑̇,̴̰͆̑ ̵̤́ͅÝ̴̙̫̈́O̵͚͐͒U̵̙͂ ̷̱̆͜͝Ċ̸͍̌Á̷̰́N̸͉̈'̶͇̎͂T̵̠̒ ̶͖́K̶̛̲̮̆I̸͎̘͐̃L̴̟̙̔̿L̴̜̾͊ ̶̱̥̌M̵̳̕E̵͈̯͋́!
Lucifer's disguise falters, his emotions resonating through his disguise as his golden hair reverts back to the darkness Roo had cursed him with.
The threads began humming. Were they afraid of them? Of him? That's funny, Fate itself, afraid of him? He wonders if even Death would tremble in his presence.
Michael splutters in disbelief at the sight of Lucifer's transformed appearance.
Michael: Lucifer—what? Why do you look like that? What did you-
The younger doesn't grace his brother with an answer or allow him to finish. Instead, he summons Keekee once more and swiftly opens a portal back to Hell.
Lucifer: Don't worry, Mika. I won't die that easily because I'll be there to watch Heaven fall.
Nothing matters. Not his brother's shouts of concern, not the short thread, not Roo's cryptic words. What matters is Charlie and her future.
He'll defy Fate if he has to.
-----------------------------------------------
Michael slumps on a chair in exhaustion after Lucifer left. He fears for the worst of Heaven and his brother's fates.
He grabs an orb from his pocket dimension and starts to recite and incantation to call his siblings. He knows he should tell the others, to discuss The Fates, Heaven, and Sa-Lucifer. Lucifer who is clearly hiding something.
But he hesitates.
'Knowing them, they would go down to Hell to confront Lucifer and it might just make things worse with their little brother than it already is. '
Before he could make a decision, there's a loud crash from beyond the door.
Michael: Hello?
He vaguely hears shushing on the other side and a bit of arguing. Slowly, he approaches the door. He grabs the knob and swings it open swiftly.
Michael: Gabriel, I told you not to-
Michael stops in surprise as he stares at his eavesdroppers. One lets out a squeak while the other saluted him.
'A young Seraph and a winner?'
Emily: Archangel Michael! We-uh- we can explain!
Sir Pentious: Your Heavenly Grace!
----------------------------------

going insane over my little headcanon about angel crowley so I need to share
Crowley was Seraphiel
1. Seraphiel is the protector of Metatron which would explain why he was the first to recognize him, even before the Archangels, and why the Metatron looked at him with so much disdain
2. Seraphiel means "Prince of the High Angelic Order" tying in nicely with Metatron saying "For one prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice makes it look like there is some kind of institutional problem" even though he's most likely talking about Lucifer but idc
3. I know a lot of people headcanon Crowley as an ex seraph and ooo baby do I have a lovely fact for you: Seraphiel is the chief of the seraphim, holding the highest rank of the seraphim though Neil Gaiman has said that is Michael's rank (maybe because the original holder fell ;))
4. Going off of my last point, the word saraph is used both as a word for burning and serpent on multiple occasions in the Old Testament, which makes sense with Crowley being a snake demon
5. Seraphiel is described as being extremely passionate about humanity and gives them messages of justice and compassion. Need I say more??
6. They're both usually depicted with fiery colors. Yeah.
there are so many things that make this unlikely but I adore it
