i have very low expectations for the winchesters finale but thanks to robbie thompson being showrunner, i think it’s fair to have slightly higher expectations than normal. so anyways, a good finale to me would contain at minimum the following components:
1) dean appearing for at least 5 min of screen time total over the course of the finale
2) dean’s alive or trying to get out of heaven and be alive
3) dean mentions he’s either trying to find cas, get cas out of the empty, or makes it clear cas is present in his thoughts in some way—bonus points if he calls cas by name instead of his friend or an angel
4) the finale doesn’t end on a cliffhanger because the chances of it getting renewed for a second season are slim to none so that would suck to be left hanging
4) carlos and lata don’t die because we need to stop having poc die for pointless reasons, esp since there’s a possibility they won’t ever be brought back if there’s no season 2
i think these are all fair and reasonable requests for this finale and i’m hoping it’ll instead surprise me by being even better
anyway back to putting my clown make-up on 🤡

lee heeseung ☆ ! if you let me
━━━ in which you make quite the impression on lee heeseung who became head over heels in love with you …
Tumblr media
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who first fell in love with you when you punched him in the face for being rude.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who couldn’t stop smiling while his friends took him to the infirmary. despite getting his shit rocked, he remembered your pretty face.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who really confirmed his feelings after you apologized with a pack of frozen peas upon seeing the large bruise forming around his eye.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who started pestering you everyday to go on a date with him.
“it’s just ice cream, jongseob told me you liked pistachio and i know a really good place.” heeseung followed you around the classroom. “you mean the same jongseob you were being an asshole to?” you halt, facing heeseung with a scowl—and he swore he felt his heart explode.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who finally got you on a date and was beyond ecstatic. however he’s never been more nervous; pacing around his room looking for the perfect outfit and standing in front of the mirror practicing his greeting to you.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who had to resist the urge to not kiss you after walking you to your door, but he was even more shocked when you kissed him on the cheek, running into your house.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who met you at your locker the next morning, handing you the latte he argued with a freshman over.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who writes down every little thing you tell him. ranging from your favorite foods to your sibling’s birthdays.
“you remembered?” you open the gift box that held your favorite lipstick inside—knowing it had been discontinued. “i listen to everything you say.” you wrap your arms around him, muttering a thank you.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who keeps his hand in your back pocket wherever you two go out and when he wants your attention, he spins you around by your belt hoop.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who holds your things over his head to get you riled up.
“you’re gonna have to jump higher than that angel.” he laughs while standing on his tippy toes.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who will embarrass himself for your entertainment. such as dancing to your favorite songs in public, letting you try your new makeup products on him, and allowing you recite all of the texts he sends you to your friends.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who gets more affectionate and clingy when he drinks too much at a party he shouldn’t have been at.
“have you always looked this beautiful?” “i can’t believe you’re all mine.” “i think i want you to have all of my children.” “shut up heeseung.”
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who wraps his embroidered uniform tie around you so no one even thinks of approaching you when he isn’t around.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who falls asleep with you in class so both of you get in trouble and he can sneak a couple kisses in detention.
“it’s just us angel, the teacher left a while ago.” heeseung tightens his hold around your waist, keeping you on his lap while he leans in with a cocky smirk.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who shows up at your house in the middle of the night with bloodied knuckles and a torn lip. he jokes about how it reminds him of the day you punched him, to which you scold him.
SCHOOL BOYFRIEND HEESEUNG who knows he’s a pain in the ass but he would do anything for you.

Part II
warning: fighting, blood, sexual tension if you squint, fire and angst… 😈
request: had this thought about azriel xteacher!reader fem or gn if you prefer and reader teaches nyx so the IC interacts with the reader a lot and all love her and think she’d be perfect with az but he’s too much of a wimp to make it official but they are still flirty. basically fate makes him man up when nyx’s class is attacked and reader is trying to protect him and then az saves the day.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Nyx, as much as he was brave and outgoing with his family, turned into the shell of himself when exposed to people he didn’t know. And while he loved to learn and genuinely was a curious kid, school hadn’t come easy for him. “We would be nowhere close to where we are now if not for Y/n”, Feyre mused once the conversation had once again slipped to Nyx over dinner. “She puts lots of care into looking after him”, Rhys nodded along, “He loves her too”. That had of course peaked Azriel’s curiosity. He didn’t sense danger but you could never trust anyone, especially a stranger, fully. And this was his family he was talking about. One he had sworn to protect.
That’s how the spymaster had found himself slowly walking towards the school. There had still been hours till pick-up time, but he wanted to see you in action. Working that magic of yours and magic he had seen. It had been a beautiful day in Velaris, the sun high in the sky, warm breeze rattling the leaves. The laughter was impossible to miss. It was infectious. Bumping off every surface. In the middle of it stood you, surrounded by ecstatic faces as they swarmed you. Like little bees trying to land on the prettiest of flowers.
Azriel still struggled with the concept of care and love. His imagination was wild but he could never imagine a happy childhood. A warm and safe home. He had that now, yes, but to have that from birth? To be loved from the first breath you take. That was foreign to him. So he stood there watching how you spun around in a circle. Clapping your hands to the nursery rimes the kids were belting out. And your smile had made Azriel smile too. Slightly. Ever so slightly making him smile.
“Uncle Az”, Nyx's excited voice had caught up with Azriel when he had finally crossed the schoolyard. With no effort the spymaster had caught the boy with one hand, lifting him onto his shoulder. “Have you been good today, bud”, Azriel patted him on the stomach, making Nyx nod eagerly, “I was, I was really good, right Mrs. Y/n”, his eager purple eyes trailed back to you and Azriel felt as if a goddess was now in front of him. You had been pretty from afar, but up close….
“I don’t know them broccolis, didn’t make it to your mouth did they?”, you raised your eyebrows, crossing your arms over your chest. “You didn’t eat your broccoli?” Azriel looked back at his nephew who was sending silent daggers your way. “They smell like Uncle Cassian’s farts”, the boy whined. The silence felt for a moment as Azriel turned to glance at you, for some reason feeling the need to apologize for Nyx’s words only to catch a big smile. And within the heartbeat, both of you had burst out laughing. “Go get yourself a bun, you little devil”, Azriel shook his head, letting the boy down.
The promise of a sweet bun had delighted him but Nux still turned to you first. Running to hug your knees as he glanced up at you. “Till tomorrow, Y/n”, he mused, that Rhys’s smile on his face now. “You say hi to your parents from me”, your fingers threaded through his hair. “Can’t wait to see you tomorrow”, you mussed, bending down to cup his cheek before kissing the top of his head, watching as he ran off towards the stand, Azriel’s shadows twirling alongside him.
“So, the day has come”, you mussed attention now fixed on the Illyrian in front of you. “I have no idea what you are talking about Mrs. Y/n”, Azriel's firm tone found you. “I saw you in the field, the tree was big but you were bigger”, You narrowed your eyes at him. And he thought he was smooth out there. “You sure know how to flatter a male”, Azriel mussed, crossing his arms over his chest, the toned tattooed muscles gleaming, “Nothing rubs my ego more than being called big”.
You let out a gasp, clipping him on the side with one hand, “Watch your mouth”, you shushed him, “There are kids here”. But now standing so close to him, you could feel the way your heart picked up. He was beautiful. Mother, every woman in Velaris probably had brought herself to an orgasm just thinking about the spymaster. “What would they say if they knew what their teacher was thinking about just now”, his words felt like a cold bucket, yet your cheeks bloomed red. “You’re no mind reader”, you scoffed, “Ego pressing on the little brain?”. Azriel caught your wrist, pinning it behind your back. Another gasp slipped past your lips as his chest pressed against you, “But I can smell it”, he mussed, “Come have dinner with me”. You couldn’t help but laugh, “Nice try”, you muttered. “I’ll fly you over myself if I have to”, Azriel warned. “Maybe you’ll have to come more often”, you made sure the enfaces the third to last word, causing Azriel to let out a lower chuckle, “You’re dangerous”, “Yet you are here”, you beamed at him.
It had stayed like this. This push and pull. Push and pull for weeks. Azriel had become accustomed to picking Nyx up almost every day. It was his easy pass to see you. Even if every time he walked through the gates he was met with an eye roll from you. And while you loved to prod and poke each other there had always been a sense of ease. As if finally someone had seen him. On some nights Azriel even found himself sharing the gruesome side of his job. And it had been your soft hands that had coxed him back to safety. Your eyes that had managed to see through the debris and find the truth beneath it all.
A light smile hadn’t left his face ever since and now as he finished the last bits of work for the day, he couldn’t wait to go get you. Drop Nyx home and spend the evening together. Just you and him. That was until something flashed across the sky. Azriel frowned pushing his chair back. Just he didn’t make it far as a loud explosion rattled the buildings. Alarms rang through the city as people started screaming outside. He was about to rush through the doors when his shadows slammed right into him. Bringing with them the sound of screaming. Children screaming. Women screaming. And a familiar voice there. Your voice and his whole body ran cold.
Everything had died down after that, all Azriel heard was static as he winnowed in front of a burning building. Some figures draped in black swirled around the school. Daggers in hand. His soldiers were already there, falling like stars from the sky. But all Azriel could think of was you and Nyx, somewhere there in the burning building. His feet moved faster than his mind as he hit the jammed door with his shoulder, breaking it in the first time. The ashen face of an elderly woman was the first thing he saw, and a litter of kids with faces shoved against her skirt in hopes of breathing as little fumes as possible.
“Come on, my man will keep you safe”, he reached out, steadying her and then counting up the little ones. “Who else is here?”, he asked through the crackling. “Upstairs”, she sobbed, “Please”. Azriel’s head snapped to the stairs. The broken down stair that had no doubt made it impossible for the ones upstairs to leave.
He could feel heartbeats. Racking through them to find a familiar one. And then a scream tore through the walls. Nyx’s name and… He was winnowing up. Ripping door after door he searched for the place you both had to be in. Eyes burning from the smoke. “Hand him over”, a thick voice snarled. “Fuck yourself and bend over”, you wheezed. Azriel’s boot came in contact with the center of the last door. And there you were a broken glass in hand as you shoved Nyx behind you. And an ill-looking male with a bloodied sword in front of you. Azriel’s shadows swarmed him, drowning the male in the dark as they pushed through every possible way into his body, the screams filling the small space. You turned back, clasping your hands around Nyx, pressing his face into your chest so he would not have to see it. It was in the infamous spymaster in front of you, in his real and lethal form as he stepped over the body trashing beneath him. His fingers that so carefully held you now gripped the jaw of the man who had threatened your life, Nyx’s life.
“You owe me a handful of breaths”, Azriel muttered against his ear, “And I will make you pay for them. You’ll wish you never breathed at all”, the coldness poured out of him. And if not for the coughs that slipped from Nyx’s lips you were sure that Azriel wouldn’t have moved from his spot. But his head snapped to the side, the complete darkness leaving his eyes. His shadows moved around you, offering you both oxygen. In two steps he had crossed the distance between you two. In two steps that had made you curl deeper into yourself as you held onto Nyx.
Azriel's jaw flexed as he watched you recoil from him. He felt your fear, it was all over. “I will not hurt you”, he muttered, “I’ll just get you both out”, his voice was back to the honey cone smoothness, as his hand wrapped around your shoulder. “Uncle Az”, Nyx choked out. “Try to breathe as little as possible, buddy”, Azriel’s palm cupped the back of Nyx’s head, “it will all be over soon”.
It felt almost like waking up from a nightmare. The fog cleared up. Air returning to your lungs. The light of flames was replaced by the sun. There was much more noise here. The screaming. You blinked to see parents looking for their kids. Mother’s weeping. “Mom”, Nyx pushed against your chest but you clung to him, “Daddy”, his voice broke. You felt him trashing in your arms but you couldn’t let go. Warm hands slid over your hands, gently pulling them apart, “He’s safe, you kept him safe”, Azriel’s voice flooded your mind. You watch Nyx’s trembling legs crossing the distance between him and his parents. The high lord falling to his knees as he wrapped the little boy in his arms. Your legs bucked, only to be met with a firm grasp on your hips as you collapsed into Azriel’s embrace.
“I’ve got you”, he muttered, “You are safe, my love, no one will hurt you”. You looked up, feeling the sting in your eyes, “Azriel”, you breathed. “I know”, he nodded, brushing the strand of your hair away from your face. You watched him for a moment, dizziness creeping in. Until your gaze darted down slowly, where warmth had been gathering all this time. “What is it?”, Azriel asked as his eyes followed yours. You heard the breath hitching in his throat before his palm pressed against your abdomen. Somewhere deep in your consciousness, you knew that you should have screamed out. But as you watched crimson seeping through his fingers you almost felt as if this body wasn’t yours.
“Y/n, my love, can you hear me”, Azriel’s worried eyes watched you, “Fuck”, cursing he looked around in panic, “Fuck, someone, please we need a healer here”. You felt Azriel’s hand slowly brushing against your back as he lowered you onto the grass. “Keep your eyes on me”, he pleaded, “Let me see your pretty eyes, I missed them so much today, did you know that?”, he was rambling you noted, something he never did. But you nodded anyway, “I missed you”, you muttered right back as his eyes snapped to the side. He was searching for a healer you did not doubt it. “Azriel”, you breathed out, but he didn’t budge. “Az”, you muttered, bringing your shaky palm to cup his cheek.
“Don’t you dare do this to me”, he whined through gritted teeth. “Come closer”, you muttered, feeling the way his hand dug into the wound on your side. But he followed your wishes this time, leaning closer till your foreheads were pressed together. “Tell me something you haven’t told me before”, you muttered, feeling your eyelids getting heavy. Azriel nuzzled against your cheek and you could feel his tears brushing onto your skin. “I love you”, he breathed, “I’m in love with you”, that was enough to make your heart leap up, tugging at the feeling so familiar, ancient, and deep. “And I love you”, you smiled at him, “Even if the sky falls and till my last breath then”, you felt him pulling back then, pulling at the thread joining you as one. You tugged as hard as your body allowed you, watching his golden eyes till your eyes couldn’t stay open anymore. Till you were sure the whole earth rattled as Azriel screamed.

can i request 💜 "You're the only one who gets to call me that, you know." with luke hughes please!!
thank you for requesting!🫶🏽
22. "You're the only one who gets to call me that, you know."
.
In a sport like hockey, you got used to being called a variety of different names for a variety of stupid reasons.
Some made sense. Some had a funny backstory. Some were born from an embarrassing memory you could never escape. Some had no real correlation but it was used once and it stuck and now the whole team used it. It was just one of the dynamics of hockey that you got used to pretty early on.
And the thing was that Luke didn’t hate his name. He didn’t, it would have broken his parents heart if he said as much. It just wasn’t exactly like he was ecstatic for people to throw ‘Luke Warren Hughes’ at him. Or at least, he didn’t like it when his middle name was brought into the locker room.
Maybe it was PTSD from the teasing he got when he was in middle school. Maybe it was the fact it sounded a little like it belonged to a sixty year old man. Or maybe it was because he was so damn used to being known as ‘Luke Hughes’ or ‘the other Hughes’, that he sometimes forgot he had a middle name.
Whatever the reason was, Luke never liked it being used in the locker room by the boys. He didn’t really like the name being used, full stop. Unless it was one of his parents using it. He thought he managed to avoid it for years until he joined the New Jersey Devils and met the team—met you.
Because, for some fucking reason that was beyond his own understanding, every rule and belief Luke had went flying out the window when it came to you.
Including the use of his middle name.
“God, Warren, couldn’t even use a comb this morning?”
Luke felt his cheeks heat up as he lifted his head to find you wandering into the locker room. Most of the team were already out on the ice, but Luke was one of the stragglers that was still getting his gear on. It wasn’t his fault the team decided team pictures needed to be taken at an ungodly hour before practice.
“Does it look that bad?” Luke questioned, trying to ignore the pleasant twist in his stomach when you flashed him a smile and made your way over to him.
“I think it looks cute,” you replied, lip tucked between your teeth as you reached out to gently run your fingers through his curls. “Curtis might give you some shit though.”
“Curtis always gives me shit,” he mumbled, letting his eyes flutter shut as your nails gently scraped along his scalp.
“Hm, well tell him to come talk to me if he gives you a hard time for your curls,” you said, and even with his eyes closed, he could hear the smile in your voice.
His cheeks burned as he tilted his head back to look at you, his own smile mirroring yours. “Gonna be my knight in shining armour?”
“M’always gonna have your back, Warren,” you replied, your voice a little softer. A little more genuine.
He swallowed. “You’re the only one who gets to call me that, you know.”
Your smile widened. “Oh, I know. Jack told me you once got into a fight during a game back in middle school after some guy on the other team used it.”
He groaned a little at the memory. “Quinn and Jack gave me so much shit after that. They called me Warren for a week after that.”
You snorted. “What did you do?”
“I told on them,” he admitted, a little sheepish. “They got grounded for a week.”
You laughed and his smile widened at the sound.
“So how come you let me use it?” You asked, something else in your voice that Luke couldn’t quite name but it still made his heart speed up a little.
“I guess I like you more than them.” It was meant to come out light-hearted and teasing, but it felt far too heavy and suggestive once the words left his mouth.
“Enough to grab something to eat after practice?” You asked, so casual and calm like you couldn’t see the way Luke’s whole face was burning a pretty shade of red.
“More than enough,” he said with a nod, unable to fight the grin off his face when you smiled back.
“Then better get your pretty ass out there before the boys make you do drills after practice for being late,” you teased, laughing as you watched him quickly shove on the rest of his gear before rushing out the door.

Yandere Male idol x GN reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
another view of the writing
warning: yandere tendencies, delusional yandere, nsfw
Tumblr media
Sol always had eyes for you, you were his first supporter, even amongst the largest crowds of more than one thousand people he could still sense if you were in the crowd or not, he would panic, and start hyperventilating if he couldn't see you amongst the crowds, once it got so bad that he had to go backstage to avoid the paparazzis surrounding him.
He didn't know how overly obsessive he was with you. he knew but wanted to play hard to get, that was until you looked at someone else or started going to other band's concerts.
It started a while ago, in highschool where you were Sol's classmate, the pretty classmate who sat at the back of the class, always staring out the window. Back then in highschool, he had already developed strong feelings for you. You were the colour to his world, one day, you acknowledged him for his singing and dancing skills. He was ecstatic from your reaction. So much so that he applied for one of the biggest idol companies in the world. Then he trained, for a year or two and rose to stardom, you were his biggest supporter from the start.
You didn't know he was your classmate, since he changed so much, his personality changed and so has his physical appearance, he died his hair a platnium blonde and worked out during his whole trainee period, so there was no way you could recognise him. He wanted to change since you had always regarded him as a mere classmate.
You called yourself Sol's no.1 defender, you would always defend Sol in arguments, like when they called Sol a coward for hyperventilating on stage, being his long-time supporter, you couldn't stand the hate and decided to shut them down yourself. Sol would always see you on social media, commenting and praising him for his dancing skills and amazing charisma on stage. whenever he saw your posts about him or your face he always busted a huge load to it, covering his entire phone screen hot strips of cum, he would always go to the bathroom and jerk off to you when hes stressed.
"m-my darling must love me s-so much! ha... oh!"
Everytime there was a meet and greet he would always look for you, but there was this time when there was no you, he searched through the crowds panicking..
"m-my.. darling.. is not here today?.. ha.. maybe they were too busy with school work! yeah! they're playing so hard to get for my attention"
Sol was just being delusional. You had no feelings for him at all and only regarded him as your role model.
Sol wanted to think this was just a slip up, but his eyes were on the edge of giving out for the whole meet up, he had almost started crying right there on the spot, but his manager told him to go to the bathroom for a while, to freshen himself.
He used that order as an excuse. He wanted to find you. Where have you been? You've been wanting for him to find you right? just like hide and seek. Until he couldn't find you. He started immediately breaking down onto the streets after he checked your instagram and your latest post was at another band's concert. He started suffocating, he started feeling uneasy in his stomach he couldnt bear it he sobbed right in the middle of the busy streets, many fans walking by tried to help him, but he was too lovesick, sitting on the bare concrete floor.

The phone was new. Joel had installed it a few weeks ago. No more cord! Your opposite hand felt awkward not having something to fidget with while your sister told you the horror stories of her giving birth. Something Mandy had brought up numerous times after confiding in her that you were pregnant.
It was your first; you were in your mid-20s. War was happening overseas, the world seemed to be going to shit. What a perfect time to bring a child into the world, huh? Your husband would be ecstatic, you just knew it. But the mere thought of something growing inside of you made you sick. “And then the feet came out instead! Ripped me open like-” You jumped a little. Facing the front door, you didn’t hear your husband come in from the back. His hands wrapped around your stomach as your shoulders pressed against his chest as your sister went on about telling you how her third kid cost her sixteen stitches.
A sharp gasp came from your mouth. “Are you alright? Is it the baby?” your sister yelled from the phone. Panicked, you quickly said your goodbyes to your older sister, assuring her everything was alright. You decided to give in to the kisses Joel was placing on your neck.
“What was she going on about now? Babies? Please tell me she’s not having another one.” Joel groaned. “Nope. Nine was enough for her,” you sarcastically answered. Four nieces and five nephews were enough for you to handle. Sarah enjoyed having kids her age to play with, but Uncle Joel was getting a bit too old for the rough play the younger ones enjoyed.
“What time is it?” you asked him, grabbing at his wrist. His hands were placed on your stomach almost like he knew. His watch read a little before three. “Sarah?” you asked him, swaying with him slowly. “Tommy’s coming over and we’re going to go work on a job,” he sighed.
 “Again? Joel-”
“I’m sorry, It’s a quick one. Just a little steel door frame and I’ll be home late for dinner. I promise,” he said, kissing you on the cheek. You would need more cash once the baby came.
“I’ll go get her.” you sighed, but not in an angry way. You loved your stepdaughter more than anything in the world. You have known her since she was a small girl and have gotten along with her since the day you met her. She is going to be the best big sister.
Joel handed you the truck keys. Tommy’s car beeped in the driveway. “Give Tommy my love,” you called to Joel as you heard the screen door shut. --- A mainstream pop song quietly played in the truck as you waited in line at Sarah’s middle school. Parents were eager to leave and the San Antonio traffic was bound to be crazy on a Friday afternoon. You spotted your curly-haired stepdaughter as she left the school doors with some friends. You recognized a few from the sleepover she had last week. “Do you have any hairspray?” she asked, throwing her backpack in the back seat. “Yes?”
“Perfect.” Sarah responded. “May I ask why?” “Tiffany and Ashley gave me the recipe for a new oobleck!”
Sarah excitedly waved a loose-leaf piece of paper with a sparky pink gel pen scribbled all over the paper in her stepmom's face. “Hairspray is the main ingredient,” she explained, going over all the ingredients she needed. You smiled to yourself, carefully exiting the middle school parking lot as Sarah rambled about her day.
Sarah burst into the house, setting her backpack down and heading straight towards the kitchen. “Do we have any… flour?” she asked, reading off her list. “Red jar, babes.” you stated the obvious. The flour had been in there for years. “And the hairspray?” She asked. You sat down on the couch, fatigued by what you assumed was your pregnancy. Rubbing your temples, you replied, “Under my sink.”
Sarah burst into the bathroom, whipping open the cabinet door under your sink. In her excitement, the jolting movement of the door opening vaulted the zip-loc bag of pregnancy tests you had taped to the top of the cabinet out on the floor. Confused at first, she held up one of the blue sticks. Then she got it. “Y/N?” she yelled from the bathroom. Sarah was old enough to know what these were, and what two lines meant. Once she realized she was holding a stick of what you peed on, she threw it back in the pile of the rest of them sprawled out on the floor.
Sighing, you kicked your feet back on the ground. You had just gotten comfortable when Sarah called for you.
“Hm?” you asked, causally walking into your bedroom. Your tired state seemed to do a complete 180 when you saw Sarah on the ground with your tests. You froze, unsure of what to say to her. Rapidly blinking your eyes a few times to stop tears, you realized that there was no going back from this. Without a single word spoken you crouched down, collected the pregnancy test strips, and put them back in the bag. Seeing the loose pieces of tape, you used them to adhere the bag back where it was. You handed Sarah the red printed bottle of your hairspray.
“Do you want to talk about it?” you asked cautiously, sitting at the edge of the bathtub. “A-are they yours?” she anxiously asked. A small laugh came from you. “Yes,” you smiled. “I’m going to be a sister?” she asked you. You shook your head yes.
“Does Dad know?”
The world seemed to blur a bit when she asked that. You could feel your heartbeat increase at the thought. “No. Not yet.” “What!” Sarah gasped. “How long have you known?” “About three weeks.” “Three weeks!” Sarah yelled, throwing her hands in the air. “It’s difficult to… come to terms sometimes,” you said, trying to come up with the best way to explain this to Sarah. “You have to tell him. Tonight!” Sarah exclaimed.
You hated to admit that she was right.
“I don’t know Sarah, he’s out on a job with your Uncle and…” “I will call him. Try me.”
You looked at her, unsure of her new aggressive demeanor. She was always a natural leader. “Sarah, this is serious.”
“I know.” she said simply, exiting the bathroom. You followed her, watching her like a hawk for the rest of the night. And the rest of the night consisted of you making dinner, ravioli. Sarah was in the kitchen and made her ooblek and when that was done she finished her homework.
You sighed when the clock rang eight. He was more than late for supper. Sarah was asleep in your lap, the mindless cartoons played on. You watched them, trying to calm your anxious mind.
You heard Tommy’s truck pull into the driveway and saw its headlights as he left the driveway. Sarah stirred a bit, but a simple smoothing of her hair soothed her back to sleep. Joel quietly made his way into the house, only noticing the two of you when he locked the door.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. You shrugged. Joel sat down next to you. “How is she? Is her homework done?”
“Yup.” you said coldly. “Look Y/N, I’m sorry I was late but the hardware store was out of the screws we needed and Tommy’s car was having an issue so we had to stop and get some-”
You couldn’t listen to Joel’s rambling any longer. You frankly didn’t care about some damn screws. It had to be done, and it had to be done now. Sarah was right, he deserved to know.
  “I’m pregnant.”
Joel’s ramblings ended. A moment of silence lasted between the two of you. “Really?” he asked, a tiny awkward squeak coming from his voice at the end. “Mhm. Sarah found the tests. Under the sink, taped to the top of the cabinet if you want to see for yourself.”
Joel sat. “Huh,” he said, getting up from the couch and heading into the shared bathroom you guys had. He came back a moment later, his face was white as a sheet of paper.
“Can we financially do this?” you whispered, knowing Sarah was well faking her sleep and listening. Joel shrugged, plopping back down next to you. He knew this was a big issue and it would have to be discussed later. They were doing well, but Joel knew firsthand a baby on a small income was expensive. “I’m happy, if you couldn’t tell.” he said, a little bit of hope rang in his tone. “I could. My reaction was the same.” you assured him. You rested your head on his shoulder. “Everything will be okay.” he said, entwining his fingers with yours. “How long have you known?”
You seethed. “Don’t kill me.” “Maybe,” he said flirtatiously. You loved when he still flirted with you, even though you had been together forever and you were his wife. “Three weeks.”
He sighed audibly. “How far along are you?” “Don’t kill me.” you reiterated. “I have no clue. I haven't even been to a doctor yet, Mandy’s horror stories are traumatizing enough.”
“We’re making an appointment first thing tomorrow,” he assured you. You shook your head in agreement.
“Does she know?” he whispered, looking down at his daughter. He was so excited to be able to give Sarah a sibling. His bond with Tommy was unmatchable. Even though there would be a significant age gap between them, he still loved his little brother like no other. Even if they were six years apart, they were close. “She’s the one who found the tests.” you quietly chuckled, reminding Joel of what you said earlier. “She was threatening to call you at work and ‘expose me’,” you told Joel. He rolled his eyes. “Jeez, that damn kid.” he smiled, giving Sarah’s fluffy hair a pat just like you did moments before. He brought his hand back to yours and moved the back of your hand up to his lips and kissed it. “I love you,”
“I love you too,”
“And our little family.” you added. “Yes, and our little family.” Joel confirmed.

Sorry if you already answered this but I can't stop thinking about DPxDC Samantha al Ghul and I just! Would love to hear your thoughts. Please tell me everything about this AU because I love it so much!
I mostly just have notes on it so far, I haven’t really come up with a plot quite yet, but here’s what I have so far!
Sam is the older twin, born 13 minutes before Damian.
While Damian was more skilled with the sword, Sam's skill lay in long range and poisons. She likes blow darts and meteor hammer, but when they learned guns, she excelled.
She spent a lot of time with the poison master learning about the different plants in the garden. This is where she gets her love of plants. She becomes a poison specialist.
They got separated on a mission at age 8 somewhere in North America when she let go of his hand and fell to a river below so he could pull himself up and survive.
Damian kept trying to get missions nearby to try and find her body, but was unsuccessful.
She got swept downstream and wandered onto a beach on a lake by a lake house that the Manson's were staying at.
They took her in and she went along with whatever they wanted because that's what you did in the League to escape punishment, especially if you weren't the heir.
Pamela was happy to have a little girl she could dress up and seemed to have impeccable manners.
Eventually she realized when they went to the Mason's home in Amity Park, that she had more freedom, that she wouldn't be punished for speaking up and wanting things for herself.
Sam became more comfortable asking for things from the Manson adults. She adored Ida, she was a wonderful adopted grandparent, much better than her bio one. Jeremy found out about her interest in plants and for her 10th birthday gifted her the greenhouse.
One day at after that birthday, she took off with her allowance that she had been hoarding and went to thrift and craft stores and locked herself in her room and figured out a wardrobe that she felt suited her.
Pamela was ecstatic that little Samikins was interested in fashion and helped her find ethically sourced outfits that she could wear to galas. She thought that all these dark clothes was just a phase and so allowed it, but became shocked to realize that it's just how she was going to be.
That school year, she met Danny and Tucker when she started at Casper Middle School. They ended up assigned together on an English assignment. They meet at Tucker's house to work on it and Sam ends up leading the group and they become close.
When Danny becomes Phantom, she trains him as best she can without revealing that she was raised by assassins. The boys don't really ask questions, they just think of Sam as tough and that she probably got into fights before she met them.
That's about all I've got for now. Again, I have ideas, but not really a plot to go with it. Feel free to take and run with it!

LOGAN HOWLETT - BONDING MOMENT
Nothing interesting had happened since that night at the bar. Logan helped Y/N get back to the school and to her room. He laughed at her silliness, which caught him by surprise. Logan wasn’t the guy to laugh around. He was usually stoic and grumpy. But there were some lingering touches here and there. And yet, their bodies were like two opposite magnetic poles, pushing away. The moment she closed the door, he sighed - relieved he didn’t do anything stupid but also sad that the night was officially over.
The days went by. Logan and Bobby joined the Professor in Washington for another conference. The President wanted to meet Charles during a banquet. They were gone for a few days. Jean and Scott were still away with Remy and Hank. The school got quieter when some students went home for the weekend. There were only some kids that had a supportive system back home. Many of them were alone in this cruel world.
On Sunday, the day before Y/N became a teacher, she and JJ were sitting outside on a bench near the pond. She took him out to spend some time with him. He snuggled closer to her side. The weather got colder. Heavy clouds appeared in the sky. Halloween was approaching, and the students were excited about the celebration.
“It’s going to be so much fun,” Jerome said with a wide smile. “I’ve heard you have to make your own mask. It’s a contest, you know?” he was ecstatic. “Everyone does it. The best masks will get some rewards. It’s mostly candy. That counts as a prize.”
“Wow,” Y/N said with a chuckle. She was glad that the boy was happy at the school. “Have you been thinking about what you want to become? Or would you like some suggestions?”
He shook his head. “No, I think I know what I want to be. I’m not telling you. It will be a surprise.”
“A surprise, you say? Alright, don’t tell me anything. I want to see what you will make,” she patted his head. “Otherwise, are you happy here? Do you have everything? Do you need anything?”
He thought about it for a second. “I have everything. They gave me clothes and school supplies. Jean told me to ask for anything. But I can always come to you, right?”
“You can always come to me, Storm, Kitty, or Logan,” she said. “You can even see the Professor and talk to him. He’s the one who created this school. He’s a good man.”
JJ nodded. “Listen,” he turned his head to look at her face. “A few nights ago, I think I heard you giggle in the hallways in the middle of the night.”
Y/N blinked, and she bit the inside of her lip. “Yeah,” she nodded and cleared her throat. “I went out with some of the teachers. We had a lot of fun that night.” It was half true. She omitted the part where she got drunk.
He poked Y/N into her shoulder. “I’m eleven, I’m not stupid,” he said. “You were with Professor Logan. I heard you talk. Well, you laughed more than you talked.” That was true. Logan walked her back to her room. They talked, she giggled, and then the night was over. “By the way, he’s awesome.”
“Yeah,” she smiled, nodding. “Does Logan teach you something?”
“We have one history lesson a week with him. I like the subject a lot. History is fascinating. Plus, he knows so much about the First and Second World Wars. He gives us so much information and details. As if he was there. He’s strict, and we cannot misbehave, but I enjoy the lesson.”
“I’m glad to hear that,” she said with a smile. A shiver ran down her spine. The wind got colder. “Let’s head inside and have a cup of tea. I think it’s going to rain. Or Storm is having a bad day, and she changed the weather to fit her mood.”
JJ laughed. He stood up first, grabbed Y/N’s hand and helped her up on feet. He held her by the forearm as they walked inside the school. When she scanned his face again, she noticed the bruises were healed and almost invincible. He looked healthier. It made her heart warm.
As they walked down the hallway, Y/N heard a whimpering sound. It was soft, girl-like. She frowned. Instead of going to the kitchen, she followed the sound. The boy was confused. He opened his mouth to ask where she was going, until he heard it too.
Y/N walked to the lounge room, where she found a young girl sitting on the window still, silently crying. She was JJ’s age. She had curly hair and glasses on her nose. Her skin was light brown.
Carefully, Y/N approached her. She didn’t want to scare her. “Hi,” she used a gentle voice. “Are you alright?” The girl's puffy brown eyes looked up. She shook her head and continued to cry. “Oh, come here, sweet angel,” she said. Her arms spread, and she waited for the girl to accept her hug.
Surprisingly, the girl was immediately hidden in her arms, weeping into Y/N’s leather jacket. Y/N stroked her curly hair lovingly, letting her take her time. JJ took a seat on the couch and silently watched.
“You can talk to me if you want?” Y/N said after another minute. “Did something happen? Has anyone been mean to you?”
The girl's tiny fingers brushed away the hot tears. “My parents haven’t visited me for three months now,” she confessed. That broke Y/N’s heart. “They brought me here, and I never saw them again.” Her voice was low, sad. “They hate me for what I am.”
That statement broke Y/N’s heart. She understood the girl’s pain. Her loved ones gave up on her because she was a mutant. “What’s your name?”
“Nova,” she said. Her arms were tightly wrapped around Y/N’s torso, holding her close.
“Nice to meet you, Nova,” Y/N said with a smile. She rested her head on top of the girl’s. “Tell me, what is your mutation?”
“I, uh,” she hesitated. “I can scream very loudly,” she said. “It can damage your hearing.”
Y/N tilted her head to the side, thinking. “Sonic screaming,” she said out loud. “That is an interesting mutation, Nova. You have powerful vocal cords, and I’ve never met a mutant with this ability.” It wasn’t a lie.
Nova lifted her head and finally looked at Y/N. “You think so?”
“Yes,” she said with a brighter smile than before. “Every mutation is unique, and so is yours. With learning and more information, you will master your ability and know how to properly use it. All you need is time, patience and practice.”
Y/N’s goal was to shift the girl’s attention to something else. It was evident that Nova was agonising over her parents’ neglect. That’s why Y/N wanted to gain her trust, and maybe she’d feel more comfortable around her.
“What is your mutation?” she asked.
“I can create protective forcefields,” Y/N explained. “I am still trying to learn more about my mutation. I’ve heard the term Flyrokinesis, but some call it Flyrogenesis.”
“Is there a difference?”
“Yes,” Y/N nodded. “Flyrokinesis means you can only control force fields. When you can create them, it’s called Flyrogenesis. I can do both.”
“That’s so cool,” Nova sighed. “You can do so much good with your mutation. I only hurt people,” she said. Nova pushed away from Y/N but remained sitting by her side.
Y/N chuckled a little. “Well, it’s not as it seems. I hurt with my ability, too. It was unintentional, but it happened. That is why we need to practise and learn about our mutations. So we won’t hurt people again. We can use our abilities to do good.”
“My mutation is elasticity,” JJ joined the conversation. He picked the right time. Nova’s eyes turned to him. “The people that fostered me thought it was disgusting,” he said. “Now I think my mutation is unique.”
Y/N’s eyes moved to the boy. This was new information. He had never said anything about his parents before. Now she knew why. He didn’t have parents. He was in foster care. Even there, he wasn’t loved. Y/N wanted to run to him and hide him in a tight, loving hug.
“My parents have sent me here and never came to see me or take me home for the weekend,” said Nova. “I deafened my father in one ear,” she confessed. “He never looked me in the eyes again.” And she started to cry again.
“Nova?” another soft voice said from the entrance to the room. “Are you okay?”
Y/N found three other girls standing at the door, watching them. The oldest girl could be thirteen. All three were different. One of them had cat-like irises. The mutation must have caused it.
“Yeah, I’m just talking to…” she turned to Y/N, not knowing her name.
“My name is Y/N. This is JJ,” she pointed at the only boy in the living room. “Would you like to join us?” she showed at the empty couch.
The girls walked inside and sat together. They introduced themselves, too. Jamie, Olivia and Kyra were friends with Nova. They all shared a room on the second level. At least these girls were the support Nova needed.
Y/N and Nova moved to sit next to JJ. “You are the new professor?” Olivia asked Y/N.
“Oh,” it caught her by surprise. Did the Professor announce it already? “Yes. I’ll be teaching English and Literature starting tomorrow. I got a few classes a week.”
“Really?” JJ’s eyes brightened. “That is so awesome!”
Y/N nudged his shoulder. “Thanks, buddy. I’ll be teaching you too, you know? We’ll have literature together on Tuesday and English on Thursday.”
“You haven’t been here long, have you?” Olivia asked. Her long blond hair was braided from the top of her head. She had colourful bracelets on her wrists. “I’ve been here for a year and noticed you a couple of times these past few weeks.”
Two teenage boys walked into the lounge room. They stopped in their tracks when they found the place occupied. “Sorry,” one of them said. “We thought we’d be alone here at this hour.” Before he could finish it, another two boys walked in.
Y/N raised a brow. Already ten people in the room. “What time is it?” she asked no one in particular. It took another five minutes, and another six children entered the room.
“You’re the new teach’,” one of the older boys pointed a finger at her. “Cool,” he smirked.
“I guess the word is spreading faster than you know,” Y/N mumbled under her nose.
“No, she’s the one who saved Jerome,” a girl said as she sat in an armchair. She was at least fifteen years old.
“I guess you have a reputation, Y/N,” JJ laughed when the kids around them started to talk about Y/N as if she was not there.
The woman raised her hands into the air to stop the debate. “If you want to know more, you need to ask the source - that’s me. Please, stop discussing me as if I was not here, okay?” One after one, they nodded their head. “Great. Let’s start again. My name is Y/N. Do you have any questions?”
“What is your mutation?”
“Is it true you will be our new teacher?”
“Did you throw Professor Summers out of the window a few days ago?”
That last question made her laugh. Obviously, they knew something happened. This was the perfect opportunity to talk to the students and know them better. She lived there for some time now. It would be nice to be part of their lives, be there for them. As she kept looking at it, she realised all these children stayed at school for the weekend. Some of the faces were familiar to her. They never left the school the whole time she lived there.
They all had one thing in common - their families gave up on them the moment they discovered how different their children were.
A frown appeared on her face. “Do you ever go home?” she asked gently. She wanted to know how many of them still had their parents.
They all shook their heads. “No,” said one of the oldest boys present. “Some of us have families on the other side of the states. Most of us are here all the time. They gave up on us.”
“I’m so sorry,” Y/N sighed. “I know how it feels to be pushed away from your family. Mine got rid of me, too.”
“Sure,” one of the girls scoffed.
Y/N’s eyes found hers. “They locked me in an insane asylum because I… I killed my own little sister with my mutation,” she admitted out loud. “It was the first time I used the ability. Until that moment, I didn’t know I was a mutant. My mutation is forcefield manipulation. Even though it is a protective ability, I managed to kill my sister with it.”
It was hard to admit it in front of a group of children. Y/N concluded it was better to tell the truth than to lie. What if Scott would open his big dumb mouth, and the kids would fear her? No more lying.
“My parents put me into an insane asylum because of it, and they never came for me. Well, I believe they’d rather see me dead. I escaped the asylum and joined a group of terrible people. My decisions were not the best. I’m not proud of that part of my life.”
“Y/N was locked with me in a lab where they experimented on us,” JJ chimed in. The kids turned their gazes at him. He sounded like a grown man. “She was already there when they brought me in. I helped her escape. Later, Profesor Logan and her came for me and saved my life.”
The silence that surrounded everyone was heavy. Some kids lowered their eyes to the ground, others closed them. They didn’t know what to say or if to say anything at all. The topic was heavy. Some could relate, and others were lucky to not experience anything tragic.
“I get how you all feel,” Y/N said. “I know what it is like when the people you love get rid of you like you’re an old, used toy. I understand you feel betrayal and pain, even anger.” Her hand found Nova’s hand, and she squeezed it reassuringly. “But look where you are now. You all ended up in a school for mutants, where you’ve been given a second chance for a better life. This place is your home. People here care and want the best for you. I dare to say that this is your new family.”
More silence followed. “I know I’m still a stranger to you, and you don’t trust me. That’s okay. Teachers like Storm, Jean or Kitty will be there for you. Please, just know you can talk to me, too. I want to help in any way that I can and know.”
Once Y/N finished talking, Nova wrapped her arms around Y/N’s waist and hugged her tightly. When JJ saw it, he did the same from the other side. The woman wrapped both arms around each child and smiled. The love she felt was immense. Before she knew it, more children approached her. They all huddled together in a big, warm hug. It was a beautiful gesture.
Storm walked around the school, checking on the students. She stepped into the lounge room. Her eyes landed on the scene before her. She had to smile. Storm was lucky enough to witness the group hug.
“What’s going on?” she asked softly.
Slowly, the children moved from the huddle. They went back to their sitting spots again. JJ kept his arms around Y/N while Nova grabbed Y/N’s hand and held it tightly.
“Just bonding,” Y/N said with a smile.
Storm’s lips reflected the smile. “That’s nice. I’m glad you are finding a way to their hearts.”
Later that day, The Professor returned with Logan and Bobby from the banquet. They were back after a few days away, and both men couldn’t be happier about their return. Bobby missed Kitty. They’d been texting here and there throughout the time. Logan didn’t have the guts to call or text Y/N. He rarely used his phone. Also, he thought it would be weird. Charles could feel Logan’s faint anxiety crawling around him. He knew the reasoning behind it. The man’s thoughts weren’t quiet.
They drove to the school, glad this ‘mission’ was over. They didn’t expect to hear loud music roaring from the building. Logan tilted his head to the side, frowning. “Is that coming from the school?” Then they heard singing. It was like a live concert. “What’s going on?”
Logan parked the car in the garage. They helped Charles out of the car and into his wheelchair. The singing got louder. It echoed around the garage. The students were singing a familiar song. Charles smiled and chuckled. When was the last time something like this happened?
All three went from the garage and got to the main level. The song changed. After a brief silence, the singing began again. The students were crammed in the lounge room, dancing around and singing as loud as their voices let them. When some kids noticed the Professor, they made a passageway for him and the other two teachers.
Logan’s eyes widened in surprise. He found Storm, Y/N and Kitty in the middle of the room, surrounded by students, jumping and screaming words to the song playing.
If you could see that I’m the one who understands you. Been here all along, so why can’t you see? You belong with me.
It seemed everyone knew the words to that song. All three women swayed their hips to the music, jumping around like all the students. They were happy, enjoying the moment. Y/N grabbed JJ’s hands when she started twisting him around. Her face was bright and cheerful. Even the boy was thrilled.
She wears high heels. I wear sneakers. She’s cheer captain. I’m on the bleachers.
This part was powerful. As if everyone wanted to scream the chorus as loud as possible. No one cared that the headmaster was present. But Charles had a big smile on his face. Yes, they organised events for the students, but this happened out of nowhere. It was special. It was a bonding moment for everyone.
“I love this song!” Bobby shouted, bobbing his head to the song. He started to sing the lyrics.
Storm draped an arm around Y/N’s shoulders while Y/N wrapped an arm around her waist as they sang the song. One of her hands remained on JJ. They laughed at their silliness. Kitty found Bobby walking to her. She got excited and ran into his arms, and they swayed together to the song.
Storm discovered Bobby a few seconds later. She stopped dancing, and her eyes found Charles and Logan. Her arm fell from Y/N’s shoulders, and she made her stop dancing.
Y/N gasped. Her face heated up, and she quickly turned around to turn off the music. She had a remote control to the stereo. When the song was abruptly stopped, the students whined. It was evident they were displeased by the interruption.
“Professor,” Storm said his name nervously. “I’m sorry for this. We got carried away.”
Charles laughed. “Oh, Storm, no need to apologise. I like that you all have so much fun on a Sunday afternoon. You should continue to have more fun.”
Y/N was breathing heavily. Her chest was rising and falling visibly. It was quite a cardio. Her eyes met Logan’s, who had a grin on his face. He leaned against the nearest wall, crossed his arms over his chest and kept staring. When he licked his lips, Y/N’s eyes followed his every movement.
“Well, the magic of the moment is kind of gone,” Y/N said. “But we had good two hours of this fun, right?” she turned to see the kids. They shouted affirmations. Some of them whistled.
“Okay, everyone, it’s time for us to end this session,” Storm raised her voice so everyone could hear her. “Thank you for being here and having fun. It’s time to get to your rooms and prepare for tomorrow.”
Logan watched as Y/N hugged a few younger kids. First, it was JJ, which wasn’t surprising. Then, it was two other girls. That sight made his insides tingle. He felt love radiating out of her. It made him smile. When they separated, Y/N’s eyes were back on him.
He took a few steps forward while greeting some of the kids. “Are you trying to bribe them to like you?” he mocked her.
“Are you jealous I’m giving my attention to them and not you?” she poked his bicep when Logan was close enough. “Or should I bribe you too?”
“I’m not that easy, princess.”
“What if I tell you I sneaked in some beer?” she raised her brows.
He was impressed. “You got me. Wait, you want to get drunk again?” he asked. “I won’t be taking care of your ass next time.”
Y/N squinted. Her body was ready to jump at him. Not because she was angry at him. She wanted to kiss that smug smile off his face. Last night, she imagined what his hands would feel on her body, how he would taste and feel. She pictured his hands exploring her naked body, his lips between her legs.
“I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself,” she said. There was a teasing smile on her face. She walked past him and found JJ talking to one boy. She wrapped an arm around his shoulders.
Logan watched her leave the lounge room with the boy. His mind was spinning. His eyes lowered and remained on her ass, watching it move with each step she took.
A hand tapped his shoulder. Bobby grinned at Logan. “You got it bad, my friend.”
“Shut up.”

Pairings: Highschool Senior Student! Gojo Satoru x Highschool Senior Student! Reader
Summary: When you are head over heels for Gojo since middle school, he can’t understand why it suddenly bothers him when you start to avoid him.
| Masterlist |
Gojo Satoru had given up a long time ago trying to figure you out.
He rolls his eyes as he feels you squeeze his arm before letting go, as if warning him you’d do so, and raising your hand. The professor gives you the right to answer whatever it is that he asked, making you smile brightly with glimmering eyes as you thrive in the attention given. Staring at the clock he debates whether sleeping is possible, knowing you it was; you had always been a teacher’s pet, tending to ask as many questions as possible before hurrying to discuss every little thought on your pretty head with your teacher.
Maybe he had once thought it was adorable, but then you had started clinging to him and his thoughts had changed.
Sighing, Satoru gives an exasperated look to Suguro before spreading his thighs to lean more in his chair. You haven’t stopped talking. He drums a finger on his desk before glancing at you. You look ecstatic, starry bright eyes shining as you hear every word the teacher is saying. You probably have no idea that you are making the whole class sleepy.
It was annoying. Such a know-it-all.
You nod and smile brightly before thanking your teacher, smoothing your pink leather pencil skirt before sitting back down besides him, making sure to wrap your arm around his again, giggling and blushing as you do so.
“Toru, how does going for some boba later sounds? I heard this new place opened close and I thought you’d probably lo—”
“Can't”
There’s bite in his answer, also a hint of annoyance, but that’s not his problem. You’re not his girlfriend, not even his something, so he sees no need in playing along to your little game.
Your sweet smile remains but the bright light in your eyes dims slightly, before coming back brighter than ever.
"Then, we go tomorrow”
"Oh, look at that! We have a presentation soon” he says, nodding to the teacher.
He was just trying to get you off of him, but it was a cheap trick, especially with how much of a nerd you actually were.
You giggle softly, “No, silly! He was just talking about the Laws of Thermodynamics. You’re not listening again, have you even written any notes?”
Why would he when you never fail to send him your rainbow-colored ones?
He sighs, leaning his face on his hand. He was too tired to deal with you for longer than needed and the day had barely started.
The bell rings and he waits not even a second in getting out of his seat, not caring about the gasp that escapes your lips or the hurriedly way you try to grab your things as you ask him to wait for you.
Suguru analyzes the situation before shaking his head in disappointment once Satoru reaches him. So, instead of letting Satoru keep walking, his hand grabs his backpack string making him halt. Groaning as your arm latches onto his, he realizes his best friend betrayed him by giving you the time you needed to catch up.
Geto deliberately ignores the glare Gojo sends his ways, as you hum contentedly at his side.
You all make it to lunch where Shoko waits for you since you don’t share that class together. Utahime and Mei Mei are at her sides, as well as Nanami and Haibara.
They all smile at you as you invite yourself over to sit at his side.
With an excited smile you get out your pink bento box and matching water bottle. He frowns as he feels you get even closer to him.
“Hey girls! Guys!”, you smile brightly at all of them.
Satoru rolls his eyes at your perkiness, taking a sip of his strawberry Ramune drink. You pout in an adorable before taking it away from him, ignoring the ice cold look he gives you and the silence that surrounds you now.
“Don’t give me that look, this has too much sugar!” his glare deepens making my your shoulders drop, “Look… it’s bad for your health. You drink so many of them, even though you eat a thousand of sweets a day!”
He scoffs making you slightly panic. Playing with your fingers as you feel yourself become anxious; you turn to your bag looking for the Digimon bento box you made for him and the matching bottle.
“Here” you smile brightly “Made you some homemade food… and sweets” you slide the bento towards him, “Some Daifuku… also made you a strawberry and blueberry smoothie…”
He hates that his hands reach to grab both things and how his eyes brighten once he sees the strawberry and chocolate flavored Daifuku you made.
“Oh!” You gasp, looking through your bag until you get another pink container out “I also brought some chocolate chip cookies and strawberries for everyone!”
Haibara cheers while Utahime and Nanami thank you kindly; Shoko and Geto smile at you as a thanks, while Mei Mei settles for winking flirtatiously in your direction.
Satoru, on the other hand, eats the sweets you made him quietly.
“Is it good?”, you ask him eagerly, eyes all bright as your hands fiddle with your hair nervously.
It’s not the first time you bring him food or sweets for the matter, so he doesn’t understand the need to ask his opinion every single time.
He settles with shrugging with indifference.
Suguru hits the back of his head from beside him making him groan, nevertheless he ignores the pointed look he gives him. He’s not in the mood to play your little game.
Instead of deflating as everyone around you expected, you smile softly before grabbing a tissue and softly cleaning his mouth with it, getting rid of the white powder.
You don’t expect the way he smacks your hand out of the way, as he had never once done something like that.
“YOU FUCKI—”
Your hand reaches for Utahime’s as she stands to defend you, smiling sweetly at her to tell her it’s okay.
Satoru frowns slightly as he realizes what he did. He had never done something physical against you, did this mean he was reaching his limit?
Shoko clears her throat, “You guys heard about Sukuna’s party?”
Mei Mei smirks, “Obviously. Heard there’s gonna be good booze. All in?”
“But…” you tilt your head, “Isn’t it today? It’s Thursday”
Mei Mei smiles sweetly at you, loving your naivety. You eye each of them only to see all of them not really caring about partying on a school night.
Was this what being a senior meant?
“I don’t know, there are a few assignments I have to work on and midterms are happening soon” you hire your lip, turning to Satoru “Are you going?”
He shrugs, “Sukuna’s booze is good, why not?”
You scoff slightly before turning to Nanami, “Are you going too, Kenti?”
The blond teenager sighs, “Lost a bet to Haibara, so yes, sadly”
“How could you not go? Yuri is here representing her school, she’s gonna see us there!” Haibara exclaims with excitement.
You see them all smile at the reminder making you shift uncomfortably in your place. Hinata Yuri was a childhood friend of them. She wasUtahime’s closest friend. They all were inseparable, yo had known that since you had met them during your last year in middle school. Sadly, Yuri had gone to high school in her mother’s district since her parents divorced.
They all had history. One which you weren’t part of.
Playing with your food you consider attending, it felt kind of intrusive considering it was a reunion, but you missed Yuri too.
Satoru knocks your thigh with his, “Pick you up at eight”
You smile brightly, nodding in agreement. Any hesitance in going disappearing as soon as he touched you.
You were so excited, humming to yourself as you ate, that you didn’t notice Utahime’s worried gaze on you nor the way she glared ferociously at Satoru.
Eight rolled around rather quickly and you found yourself sat on Satoru’s black Acura Integra, rich boy privilege. He buckled you in as you were too busy fixing the skirt of your Bellini Bustier pink mini dress that you had paired with a white cardigan.
You start fixing the pink bow that ties your half updo as you thank him, almost choking on your own saliva as you see him.
He looks god made.
His black shirt was illegally stretched across his chest, his pecs shamefully bulging out, his arms immorally straining on the sleeves of his shirt. His grey pants fit perfectly against his muscular thighs and—
Flustered, you look away. It was too much, he was too much.
You play with your hair and nervously move your ballerina flats around during the drive. Trying to hide the way your face became red with each glance you stole.
The party was already at full swing when you both arrived, the blasting music and the many swaying underage teenagers making it a given. The two floored house had its windows flashing in neon lights. The outside was pretty empty, aside from the cars haphazardly parked by irresponsible teenagers and some of those said irresponsible teenagers puking in the bushes.
You scurry next to Satoru the moment you get out of the car, groaning as you try to keep up with his long strides.
He opens the door and heads inside, not noticing the way his strength makes the door close in your face. You push the door for yourself as fast as you can, ignoring the pain in your nose, afraid to lose him in the crowd. Thankfully you manage to grab his arm in time.
He leads you inside and you struggled to avoid being pushed around by sweaty party animals. Maybe you should’ve worn heels instead of flats, maybe then you wouldn’t feel so small.
Finally, you find yourself sitting with the whole group in the terrace. Taking a deep breath of fresh air, you let your shoulder drops in relief.
“You okay, doll?” Yuri smiles kindly at you, hugging you tightly before offering you one of the drinks in her hands.
“Oh! I’m so happy to see you!”, you exclaim, giggling before letting go, “I’m fine. What’s this?”
“Well… if you keep being the innocent cutie you’ve always been, it’s just fruit punch” she smiles brightly with mischief, “Unless you grew some thorns, little rose, and want something to spike it up?”
You laugh while shaking your head, taking a sip after doing so. Yuri had always been kind to you, and seeing her reminded you to the many time she’d make sure you felt at home in the group.
Sadly, you also remember how close Satoru and her used to be once you see him give her a hug and how flustered she becomes.
Oh.
You take another sip of your drink as you try to remind yourself they were just friends. Really close friends. Begging yourself to forget the way Satoru used to have his attention on her every second of the day during middle school, even when you were always there.
No, you were going to have fun and catch up with your friend.
And you did. You weee truly enjoying chatting with everyone and hearing Yuri’s stories. Yet, you couldn’t help but feel a little out of place when the childhood memories started to surface. You weren’t friends with them during your youth, you had officially joined them at the end of middle school.
You hugged yourself as you listened to them laugh as they recall their shenanigans. It was honestly sweet to watch, yet you couldn’t help to feel slightly bitter. You shake your head to get rid of those feelings.
Sighing, you look at your empty cup. Maybe you should get another drink.
You stare at how crowded the inside of the house is before grabbing Satoru’s sleeve, wanting him to go with you.
“Toru, I need a refill”
He shrugs your arm off, “Then, get a refill”
“Will you come with me?”
Satoru’s jaw tightens, glancing at Shoko and Geto before harshly turning to you and whispering, “Could you not be annoying for just one second? I’m not your damn babysitter”
Your hand that had been trying to reach for him once again halts, frozen midways before falling to your thigh. You look away as you feel your eyes sting and your nose itch, you were about to cry.
“Fine”, you whisper, head hanging low as you stand up
Satoru resumes his conversation with Yuri, Geto and Shoko. You frown as you see the way he smiles at Yuri, biting your lip as you feel the way your chest clenches.
You turn around, prohibiting yourself from crying in front of them. Satoru already thought you were annoying, you weren’t gonna give him more reasons to think so. You had always known you went to far in the ways you showed your affection, but you just couldn’t help it.
You sigh as you brush the tears that had fallen down your cheeks, slipping your way downstairs.
The party was even more alive than when you had arrived. You see Sukuna in the kitchen drinking a line of shots against Choso, which makes you frown in pity. Silently, you look for a bottle of water before heading out.
You were knocked around as you went, but thankfully you soon managed to get out of the suffocating atmosphere.
The night breeze softly kisses your skin making you shiver, yet you smiled softly as you take a deep breath. You stare at the starry night, loving the way the stars shine brightly against the darkness that surrounds them.
Sighing, you let yourself sit on the stairs of the porch, taking a drink of your water as you keep on staring at the night sky. Your chest ached.
“Party became too much for you?”
You gasp, startled.
Smiling slightly at your reaction, Nanami sits beside you, “Sorry if I startled you”
“Uh… it’s okay” you stutter, “I’m good, just… wanted to cool down. I was planning to go back”
“Sure about that?” He asks knowingly, making your shoulder drop, “It’s a nice night”
You smile, hugging yourself, “It is”
“You like the stars?”
You nod, “Used to watch them with my dad when I was young. That one…” you point at the brightest one, “is called Sirius, like the character from the Harry Potter books. It’s part of the Canis Major constellation, its name means glowing”
“You seem to know a lot. It’s impressive” he nods softly, “What other stars make up Canis Major?”
“Muliphein, Mirzam, Wezen, Aludra, Adhara and Furud” you point at each one as you named them, “it’s special because it has many bright stars, as well as Sirius, the brightest”
“Wow”
Your smile falters as you hear something break inside, reminding you where you are. Nanami notices making him sigh before pushing himself to stand up.
“How do you feel about going for a drive?”
You look at the water bottle in your hands, tightening your grip on it before standing up with determination.
“I think that sounds like a great idea”
He offers a hand and you take it. His Range Rover comes to view and he hurries to open the door for you. You halt in surprise before smiling softly.
“What?”, he raises a brow.
You shake your head, giggling softly, “Nothings. It’s just, you’re really a gentleman”
“This is the bare minimum”, he states, “You shouldn’t expect less”
Your smile falters, but he doesn’t mention it.
Nanami drove around while you told him every little fact about the stars that came to mind. His interest in it as he asked questions made you get more excited with time, making you rambled nonstop.
You were really having fun.
It was on the way back to the party that you realized that if you went back your mood would turn sour, so you kindle asked him to drive you back home if it wasn’t too much trouble. He kindly agreed.
You smiled at Nanami once you got out his car, “Thank you, Kento, really. I had fun”
“I had fun too, Y/N. Thanks for the Star facts”
He waited until you got inside your house before leaving, making you smile softly to yourself feeling your heart warm because of his sweet nature.
You take off your shoes and quietly go to your room, taking off your clothes before going to your private bathroom and jumping in the shower to quickly clean yourself. Once you are dressed in your silk pink pajamas, you grab your phone from your purse and connect it to the charger.
Turning around to lay down, you halt as you hear your phone ring to announce a text.
Toru <3: Where are you?
Y/N: Home.
Toru <3: What?
Toru <3: Who drove you?
Toru <3: You should’ve told me if you wanted to leave.
Y/N: Didn’t wanna annoy you.
Toru <3: You can’t leave without saying something.
Toru <3: You have to let me know.
You frown. You dont know if it was the emotional or the physical exhaustion, but you found yourself punching letter by letter of the message, not second guessing before sending it.
You don’t even bother checking if he texts back, locking your phone before throwing yourself on your bed.
Y/N: You’re not my boyfriend, I don’t have to do anything.
Satoru frowns as he stares at the text you just sent him, writing and deleting as he tries to decide what to text back. But end up with his mind totally blank.
You were right. He wasn’t your boyfriend, you didn’t have to tell him if you wanted to leave or give him an explanation for the matter.
So, why was he feeling so… weird?
He scoffs. He didn’t need to dwell on it too much c tomorrow everything would go back to the way things were.
Except they didn’t. You weren’t in his usual parking space when he arrived. He frowned, looking around, before shrugging. You must have fallen asleep, you weren’t used to going out on weekdays after all.
He nods at Geto and Shoko once he gets to his first period, letting himself fall in between them.
“Where’s Y/N?” Shoko asks, looking at the door expecting your smiling face.
“Late” he shrugs.
Nanami and Haibara join them as soon as the words leave Satoru’s lips, making a small smile grow on Nanami’s face.
“Sure about that?”
Satoru frowns, but it is Geto who asks, “What you mean?”
Nanami shrugs, serious face back on as he starts getting his books out.
But Satoru didn’t appreciate his secrecy. He had been kept in the dark by you last night, he wasn’t in the mood for that anymore.
And then it clicked.
“You were the one who drove her home, am I wrong?” Gojo asks Nanami, almost accusingly.
Nanami raises a brow, “And if I did?”
Satoru rolled his eyes but he stayed quiet.
Shoko and Geto share a look before glancing at Gojo. But Satoru had never been easy to read, always nonchalant and charismatic, never wavering. So it was a shock when they both realize the way his jaw tighten slightly before letting go.
Interesting, they thought.
You had been nowhere to be found by lunch, but Nanami had appeared with your usual pink container full with treats, smirking as he stared you sent them.
Suguru and Shoko had been eyeing Satoru warily as he seemed a second away from snapping with each second that passed. He kept bouncing his leg, without pausing, and clenching and unclenching his hand and jaw.
Everyone at the table remained silent as Haibara’s old words of reassurance of you probably being sick were squashed by Nanami’s appearance.
“Why isn’t Y/N here?” Shoko decides to ask.
Nanami grabs one of the brownies you made them this time, “She said she was gonna eat with the girls in her baking club. Was waiting near my locker with the treats”
Satoru’s hand clenches tightly. You had look for Nanami, but hadn’t even bothered to text him?
He hated this.
He hated more not knowing exactly why he hated it so much.
He saw you in Chemistry, but you didn’t cling to him as you used to. You only smiled at him from your sit beside his before burying yourself in your book. Asking questions and sneering them as usual. Taking colorful notes as usual.
But, not even glancing at him as usual.
What was going on?
He took a deep breath. It was Friday, he wouldn’t even remember this bitter taste during the weekend, which would make him go back to normal by the start of next week.
It’d be fine.
Except that by next Wednesday, he couldn’t handle it anymore. He had spent the whole weekend staring at his phone waiting for one of your texts reminding him to eat well or one scolding him to do his school work; he’d even accept one of your random visits to bring him a sweet you’d bake.
And it had already been three days since the week started and you kept ignoring him. Even when you decided to have lunch with them, you sat beside Utahime now.
His personalized Digimon bento box made by you had disappeared and only the container with sweets for everyone remained.
It was… upsetting.
He felt his chest ache and a sting in his eyes the more he thought about it. What had happened? What was going on with him? Why couldn’t he stop shaking his leg? Why did he kept glancing at the door for pastel colors when Nanami had told them you weren’t eating with them today.
“Satoru”, Geto calls him softly, “You okay?”
No. He wasn’t okay.
What the hell was wrong with him?
Shoko and Geto share a look, before the brunette sighs in defeat, “Hey, Nanami”
The blond one stops conversing with Haibara to listen to her.
“Did you see Y/N today?”
Nanami frowns, “Yeah… she said she wasn’t coming to lunch”
Shoko rolls her eyes before pointedly nodding towards Satoru’s lost gaze in his food and relentless fidgeting.
Nanami sighs, “She mentioned how she wanted to try the new vintage Library-Café near campus for lunch”
His legs stops moving, his jaw and hands unclench just as his foot shifts. Yet Satoru remains sitting.
Geto smiles faintly, before rising from his place nonchalantly, “I gotta go review for Calculus, midterms are soon after all”
Haibara’s eyes widen, “Oh, crap! I don’t understand a thing”
Nanami sighs, standing up as well, “Then, we’ll be joining you, Geto”
Suguro nods before guiding both boys out of the cafeteria with him.
“I need a smoke break”, Shoko whispers before leaving.
Utahime crosses her arms in defiance, understanding what all her other friends were doing but refusing to participate in it.
Mei Mei, though, was finding the situation really amusing.
“Let’s go shopping, ‘Hime”
“HUH?!”
Utahime is dragged by Mei Mei as she relentlessly voices how they can’t go shopping when they still have classes.
Satoru wasn’t stupid. He knew what they were doing, but he couldn’t find it in himself to truly care. Not when his body basically jump out of his seat as soon as Mei Mei and Utahime disappeared from view. Feeling ridiculous as he ran outside.
You thanks the waitress as she leaves the tray on your table. You smiled contently at the view. A Matcha Frappuccino, a blueberry cheesecake, and the new book you had just bought.
It was truly a sight for sore eyes.
You grabbed the fork quickly before taking a piece out of your cheesecake, hurrying to try it.
You moan in pleasure at the flavor, closing your eyes as you do so. You definitely needed to try to bake this one, it was true perfection. Not too bitter, but not too sweet, just right on the spot.
“That good?”
You squeaked in surprise, which Satoru found extremely endearing.
Grabbing the tissue and cleaning your mouth, you frown as your eyes meet his celestial blue ones.
“What are you doing here?”
“Am I not allowed to come here?”
You shake your head and scoff before lowering your gaze to your hands, playing with the rings on your fingers.
He never accepted to try any of these spots with you, so why would he come to them?
“You hate places like this” you mutter, “You never seemed to stop reminding me how dull they are, nor how annoying it is to have to sit in a place as you try not to bother others”
“Never said any of those things” he squints his eyes as if trying to remember, “Doesn’t ring a bell”
“I doubt you came for the books, who why are you here, Satoru?”
That stings.
And maybe is that pain that makes him sit right in front of you with the most sincere look in his face you’d ever seen.
“Not for the books, you’re right”, he taps his finger nervously on the table, “I actually came for the starry eyed Barbie”
You stare at him, dumbfounded, feeling your face slowly heat up before shaking your head.
“Why would you come for someone that’s always annoying you?”
He flinches at the reminder of his last words to you, “I… I didn’t meant that”
You scoff, “Yeah, right. I’m not blind, I know I annoy you. Which is why I don’t understand why when I finally leave you along, you decide to bother me”
His gaze moves to his fingers.
Silence.
Your appetite is now gone, so you grab your book and your bag before standing up. You give one step before being stopped by his hand on your wrist.
“I-i’m s-sorry” he softly stated, head lowered, “I didn’t mean it. I really I’m s-sorry, I just—I’m an idiot. I didn’t know what it was like—how it’d feel—I hate it… please, just—I’m sorry…”
You hug him, hating how his breathing grows in speed and how he starts to stutter as he tries to explain everything.
It wasn’t perfect, things weren’t just magically okay, but it was the right track.
That’s how next week on Wednesday during lunch, when raising their heads to say hi as they heard Satoru’s loud voice saluting them, Shoko and Geto freeze midway, before smiling, at the sight.
Because fire the first time ever, instead of them seeing you clinging onto Satoru’s arm desperately, he had it wrapped around your waist lovingly.

Enjoy!
The last twenty-four hours had been so whirlwind crazy that you had completely forgotten that it was your weekly pizza and movie night with your parents.
Every Wednesday night for the last four years, the three of you would gather around your TV with your favorite pizza as you explored movies of various genres. Your father always chose action and thriller movies, your mother preferred romance, and you tended to select anything that had to do with science fiction or fantasy.
It was a cherished ritual, one that brought you a sense of comfort and normalcy. These nights were by far your favorite part of the week, and you silently cursed yourself for being so forgetful.
“Mom… Dad,” you said, trying desperately to diffuse the awkwardness of the situation. You couldn’t say you had forgotten about the night- because you had never done such a thing- but you didn’t exactly know how to explain your forgetfulness. “Is it already eight o’clock? Work was insane today, so the time got away from me.”
Azriel slowly started to back away from you, walking backward toward the bedroom, the bag of clothes still in hand. “I- I um,” he stammered, his brown face turning a deep shade of red. “Need to put clothes on,” he finally got out as he rushed for the bedroom, slamming the door behind him with a loud bang.
If your parents had not been standing there, their faces still frozen in shock, you would have laughed at his stuttering. He was so broody and stoic, all dark and mysterious, so it was amusing to see him so flustered. You faced your parents again, willing your face into a neutral expression.
Louis and Celeste Fontenot were the best parents anyone could ask for. Your father was a mechanic, a hard-working man who had always made sure to keep the bills paid and food on the table. Your mother was an English teacher at one of the local middle schools, and she had been the solid rock you could always lean on when life was difficult.
They had always done their best to ensure that your life was easy and carefree, always supporting you during your different, and sometimes strange, interests. As a child, they encouraged you with soft smiles when you declared you wanted to be an astronaut when you grew up. They had taken you to the beach when you decided that instead, you wanted to be a pirate. You still had fond memories of your father building a small wooden boat for you to float in, riding the waves as they crashed along the shore.
Your parents had even backed you up when you had concluded that you wanted to be a queen in a faraway kingdom, riding horses in front of her castle, charging into battles on the frontlines. They had bought you frilly dresses and plastic crowns, always playing into your active imagination.
They had been rather surprised, to say the least, when you had applied for nursing school a few years ago. As you grew older, you developed a love for healing and helping people, and your parents stood by you every step of the way. They had been ecstatic when you graduated at the top of your class, and they had been beyond themselves when you had gotten hired at Tulane Medical Center as a trauma nurse.
“We’re sorry. We should have knocked,” your father said, walking up to you to press a kiss on your forehead. His signature scent of oil, fuel, and cologne filled your nose, and you smiled up at him. “We didn’t expect you to have company tonight.”
You sighed, wanting to steer the conversation away from the half-naked man who had been standing in your living room. “It’s alright. You know you’re always welcome in my house.” Though you had purchased the home and surrounding land with your own money, your parents had insisted on helping with the furniture, even though they lived paycheck to paycheck most months.
For a middle-class English teacher and mechanic, it was hard to be financially stable in this economy.
Your mother walked up to you with a kind smile on her face, pulling you into a tight hug despite the pizza box in her arms. “How are you, sweetheart?” she asked, pulling away to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. She could read you like a book, and you knew she had picked up on your desire to change the topic of conversation.
Stressed out. Angry. Upset. Lost. Have you ever heard of a place called Prythian? You wanted to tell your parents everything, to unload your burdens on them, just like you always have. Everything you thought you knew about life and the world had started to fall apart at the seams, and you desperately wanted your feelings to be validated.
As you looked at them, their faces so open and trusting, the words threatened to spill from your mouth, but you pushed them down and said, “I’m good. Work has been chaotic, and I’m tired all the time. But I’m good,” you said, steering them toward the small kitchen connected to the living room.
Though it was compact, it was meticulously organized and well-stocked with modern stainless-steel appliances and dishware. The cabinets were crafted with traditional wood, and they were painted in a light color that correlated with the warm, earthy tone of the walls. At the heart of the kitchen stood a small dining table encircled by four rustic-looking chairs.
Your father set the bag on the table, pulling out some sodas and beer. He moved your copy of The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas as he asked, “Have you been sleeping well, mon ange?” Your father, being born and raised in New Orleans, had called you “my angel” in Cajun French for as long as you could remember, and the nickname warmed your heart.
You sighed as you watched your mother place the pizza box on the table. “Yeah. I’ve been having those weird dreams again, but I’m able to sleep most nights.” You pushed aside the quiet voice in the back of your mind whispering that sleep would be a rare visitor now.
Until you figured out what the hell was going on with Azriel, at least.
You hadn’t gone to work earlier. You had told your supervisor that you were sick with the stomach flu and unable to leave the bathroom. You had even faked some gagging sounds to make it believable.
After you dropped off Azriel, you went to Crescent Park, wandering aimlessly along the Mississippi River. You had sat on a bench all afternoon, staring at the New Orleans skyline as the sun dropped below the horizon.
Your whole life, you had felt out of place, feeling as if you didn’t belong where you were. You had tried everything to fit in, to belong in the “in crowd.” After countless failed friendships and many awkward encounters, you had given up, accepting your role in this society as an outcast.
Of course, you had some friends, but you didn’t have a group of people with whom you could share your secrets with. You didn’t have anyone who could understand your deepest desires and the shadowed places of your heart.
But after hearing everything today from Serena about Prythian, you had felt unsettled but… seen. After thinking about those strange paintings, you realized that you too had seen those landscapes in your dreams. Your dream self had flown over those mountains, had walked in that city of starlight.
After hours of silent staring and contemplating, you still didn’t understand any of it, but you were willing to listen. You had been willing to let Azriel explain everything about his world, about Prythian.
Until your parents had showed up. Now, you would have to hound him with questions later.
Your mother brought you back into the conversation with a gentle hand along your back. “If you ever want to talk, honey,” she said, pressing a kiss to your temple, “we’re always here to listen.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but you were cut off by your bedroom door opening. All thoughts left your head as Azriel, now dressed in a pair of black pants and a white tee shirt, walked into the kitchen.
You had misjudged the size of the clothes when you bought them on your way home from the park. To you, they had looked big. So big that they would have swallowed you whole if you were to put them on.
But on him… the pants were tight around his thighs, and your eyes were glued to the muscles moving there as he walked. And the shirt… it was so tight on his body, you could count each one of his abs underneath, and you could see the black lines of those strange tattoos covering his chest.
What the hell did he eat to look like that? You tried not to think of what he looked like without clothes on, how that muscular chest had felt under your palm…
Your father cleared his throat loudly, obviously seeing where your eyes had wandered to. He stuck his hand out to Azriel as he said, “Nice to meet you. I’m Louis. But please call me Lou. Everyone does.” He shook Azriel’s hand, not even flinching at the brutal scars that covered them.
You wondered how he got them. What brutal encounter had he suffered for his skin to be so marred?
From your side vision, you could see that your mother’s hand had gone to her chest, her eyes wide as she looked at Azriel. She had never, not once in her life, looked at a man besides your father.
But Azriel, you supposed, was no ordinary-looking man. Especially not with that toned body and beautiful face of his.
Your mother blinked rapidly, forcing herself to recover from her stupor. “And I’m Celeste.” She tilted her head to the side as she looked at him, a kind smile blooming on her face. “And you are?”
Azriel’s eyes slid to you for a moment, as if he were asking for your permission to speak. He looked uncomfortable and lost, kind of like a fish out of water.
You stepped into the conversation, walking over to place your hand on his shoulder. “This is Azriel. He’s a… new addition to my life.” You honestly didn’t know how else to describe his sudden arrival on your front lawn.
“Ah. I see,” your father murmured, his eyes raking Azriel’s body from head to toe. A protective father’s scrutiny. “Well. I hope you’re hungry Azriel. We brought a lot of pizza with us.”
Azriel leaned his head down, his lips so close to your ear that you could feel his breath as he whispered, “I don’t know what that is.”
Would this day ever end?
---
It turns out that Azriel was hungry. Starving, even.
You had laughed silently as he had picked up a slice of pizza, his eyes wary as he watched the toppings nearly slide off. He had nibbled at it, barely getting enough in his mouth to taste. Then, he had taken a bigger bite, his eyes rolling back slightly as he groaned, “So good.”
That had been four slices ago. You were thankful your parents had thought ahead and gotten an extra-large pizza, or there wouldn’t have been enough for anyone else.
Your mother had been watching with her own amused expression the whole time, no doubt used to seeing strange behavior from her students. “Beer?” she offered, placing a glass bottle in front of him.
Azriel swallowed his pizza as he raised the bottle, taking a giant swig. You laughed out loud as he nearly spit it out all over the table. “By the cauldron, this is disgusting,” he said, pushing the bottle away from him like it was poison.
You were still giggling as you pushed a can of soda toward him. “Here. Try this instead.”
He cautiously took a sip, his eyes locked onto yours as he did so. He grimaced at first, but after a few seconds, he nodded. “Better.”
Your father placed his pizza crust on the plate, his eyes moving over to you. “So, why didn’t you tell us you had a boyfriend, Y/N?”
You choked on your drink, throwing a hand over your mouth as you coughed. From beside you, Azriel placed his hand on your back, patting it gently. Not a good time, you wanted to say, but you couldn’t stop coughing.
Azriel looked at your father with a confused look, his hazel eyes bright. “I am…” he started, his eyebrows creasing, “a friend that is a boy.”
Oh God.
After a few more seconds of coughing, you were able to breathe again. You pushed Azriel’s hand away as you said, “Azriel is just a friend, Dad. We met at a bookstore, and I thought he was nice.”
Your mother, who shared your love of literature, shook her hands excitedly. “Oh! What kind of books do you read, Azriel?”
Please say something normal for once.
Azriel pondered for a moment, his fingers playing idly with the can of soda. “Well, I’ve recently gotten into a book called The Art and Illusion of Espionage. It’s very insightful.” He smiled up at her, but it didn’t meet his eyes.
Damn it.
But he was trying to act like he fit in here, despite everything he had experienced today. The realization warmed your heart, and you placed a hand on his arm. “Azriel reads all things, really. It’s one of the things that makes our friendship so great.” You put heavy emphasis on the word “friendship.” You continued, “It keeps the conversations interesting.”
Your parents knew you had no interest whatsoever in espionage, or whatever the hell Azriel said, but they didn’t press on about it.
Your mother nodded, while your father’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Well, I’m glad to see you have a friend who you can talk to,” your father said at last, and you knew he meant it. You knew he would rather you talk to someone about spying than seclude yourself in your house, which is what you do most days.
“So where are you from, Azriel?” your mother asked as she finished her slice of pizza. “For the life of me, I cannot think of where that accent could be from.”
Shit.
Your mind scrambled as you tried to think of an answer for him. You would do anything to shield him from your parent’s innocent curiosity, but you were saved from answering as Azriel said, “I’m from a little-known region, far away from here. It’s rather isolated and small, so I doubt you’ve heard of it. I’ve also traveled quite a bit, so it’s a mix of the accents I’ve come across during that time.” His tone was firm, signaling that was all he was going to say on the matter.
But you had to give the man credit. At least he was thinking ahead, it seemed, instead of blurting out the first answer that came to mind.
Your father hummed as he leaned back in his chair. He drank the last of his beer, setting the glass down on the table. “What about your family, then? Do they live around here?”
Azriel’s face paled, his eyes darkening. He looked down at the table, gripping the empty can of soda so tight that it started to crumble. “No,” he said, his voice low. “They don’t.”
His tone was sad and distant, and the bleak look in his eyes broke your heart. You looked at your father, rolling your eyes at him slightly. “Dad, stop interrogating him.”
Your father held up his hands in surrender. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I just want to know who my daughter is hanging around,” he mumbled, clearly upset that you had called him out. You knew he was just curious and that he wanted to protect you and keep you safe. “No more questions. I promise.”
The tenseness that you hadn’t noticed in Azriel’s shoulders loosened. Under the table, you could feel his hand drift over to your thigh, squeezing it affectionately. The gesture said what he wouldn’t dare to say out loud. Thank you.
“Well,” your mother said, once again sensing your desire to change the topic of conversation. “We have family dinners every Saturday night. You are more than welcome to join us, Azriel. We would love to have you.”
Azriel’s eyes softened as he nodded. “Thank you,” he said, and you smiled at the warmth that had returned to his voice.
The conversation flowed easily after that; the movie long forgotten. You were thankful for the diversion. You didn’t feel like having to explain to Azriel what a TV or a movie was, and you definitely didn’t think you could manage it without your parents noticing.
Azriel sat there in contented silence, no doubt thankful that the interrogation from your parents was over. He would take part in the conversation at random intervals, usually giving one-word answers, as if he were used to making people believe that he was listening in the first place.
The sky outside the kitchen window was completely dark, the stars bright in the sky. “It’s late,” your father said at last, looking out the dark window and then down at his watch. “We should get going.”
Your mother stood and pushed her chair back. “It was so nice to meet you,” she said, smiling over at Azriel. “We hope we get to see you again soon?”
Azriel’s eyes slid over to you, searching your face for an answer, knowing that things between the two of you needed to seem normal. You smiled and gave him a small nod. “Yes,” he said, noting your movement. “I think you will.”
“Wonderful!” your mother responded. She reached her hand out to take yours and you moved around the table.
You took her hand, and, for a moment, you found yourself staring at your parents, noticing how much you didn’t look like them. You had your mother’s compassion and gentleness and your father’s stubbornness, but when it came to looks…
It was so obvious that as a child, you had asked them if you were adopted. They had laughed, assuring you that you were indeed theirs. “You look a lot like my sister,” your mother had said. “You have her coloring and build. I guess her genes decided to come out in you instead of mine.” At the time, it had been a good enough answer for you, but you still questioned it sometimes.
It didn’t help that you had still not met her sister, the one that she claimed you looked like.
“I’ll walk you guys out,” you said, moving to usher them from the kitchen. You wanted to make sure they were gone before you started questioning Azriel about everything.
Your father shook Azriel’s hand again before following you and your mother through the house. You cringed as you heard him say in a low voice, “In the future, make sure you wear clothes around my daughter.”
Protective bastard.
You could almost see Azriel’s beautiful face fill with embarrassment as he muttered, “Of course, sir.”
His formal and polite tone made you smile as you opened the front door and stepped out onto the porch, thankful for the humid air as it masked the flush in your own cheeks.
---
As you walked with your parents out to their car, Azriel found himself wandering toward the glass door situated along the wall in your living room. He slid it open, letting the warm summer air wash over his cold skin as he walked outside.
The patio had wooden floors, and it was filled with small potted plants sitting on tables. Most of them were dying in the heat, their leaves wilted, their stems sagging low. But some of them bloomed, their petals vibrant in the darkness, as if those flowers refused to let anything disrupt them from living on.
Would he be able to bloom here, in this world, even though everything around him was falling apart?
Azriel pondered that sobering thought as he walked over to one of the chairs sitting on the edge of the patio. He sat down and leaned back, stretching his long legs out in front of him.
Dinner with your parents had been an awkward experience for him. Az tried not to think about the fact that your parents had seen him almost naked. He didn’t understand the strange phrases or slang here, and he felt an overwhelming wave of homesickness fill his chest.
Azriel leaned his head back against the chair, sighing up at the stars that shone brightly above him. Their little lights twinkled and danced in the night sky, completely oblivious to the problems of the people who dwelled below.
Though they were beautiful, they were nothing compared to the stars back home. He wondered if he would ever see the stars of Velaris again, if he would ever be able to stretch his wings out and fly across the mountains with the feeling of the wind beneath them.
He felt his eyes begin to water slightly, and for the first time in his life, he didn’t care if tears fell from his eyes. He hadn’t felt this lost and lonely since his childhood, locked away in his father’s dungeon.
But tonight, with the stars as the only witnesses, Az let them fall down his cheeks and onto the soft fabric of his shirt.
Azriel didn’t bother to move or hide his crying as he heard the patio door slide open. He kept his gaze on the stars as you walked over and sat down silently in the chair next to his. He could feel your eyes on his face, no doubt noticing the wetness on his cheeks. You leaned back in the chair, and from the corner of his eyes, he saw you look up to the stars as well.
“They are beautiful,” you murmured, your voice soft as night. “It’s nice to come out here and sit when life is hard.”
He couldn’t think of a response that wasn’t filled with pain and self-pity, so he stayed silent.
You crossed your legs gracefully as you said, “My parents seem to like you. They think you’re a little odd,” you said with a chuckle, “but they believe that means you’re better than most guys nowadays.”
That caught Azriel’s attention, and he suddenly remembered a strange word that had been said earlier. He looked over to you, the tears drying on his cheeks. “What is a boyfriend?”
You tipped your head back as you laughed, and he found himself captivated by the way your cheeks dimpled. “A boyfriend is sort of like… well, it’s someone you are with because you have special feelings for them- more than just a friendship. It’s not formal or anything. It’s someone you enjoy spending time with, someone who makes you laugh, and it might even develop into love.” You looked at him and offered him a smile. “A girlfriend is the same concept. Does that make sense?”
Azriel hummed as he thought about what you said. “Do you have one? A boyfriend… or a girlfriend?” He hadn’t heard you speak of anyone special in your life.
But then again, he supposed, there hadn’t really been time for you to speak about such things.
You shook your head as you sighed. “No. I’ve had them before. Boyfriends and girlfriends, actually. But I’m single right now. Have been for a long time,” you finished with a chuckle. “Do you have a special someone in your life?”
“No, not really,” he said, looking back up at the night sky. “It’s- it’s complicated.” His love life was in shambles, and it had been for a while now.
You clicked your tongue. “That’s a shame. I would imagine all of the men and women of Prythian would be tripping over themselves trying to get with a pretty boy like you.”
Azriel laughed, unable to help himself. Your boldness was something he had come to admire. It was a rare occurrence that someone took him by surprise, but you seemed to do it constantly. “You think I’m pretty?” he asked smugly.
You rolled your eyes. “Don’t get full of yourself. I’m not saying I would trip over myself to get with you, but I’m not blind.”
Then why is your face so red? He wanted to ask to keep teasing you. Talking with you was… easy. He had never liked being involved in long conversations, but it was as effortless as breathing with you. The realization shocked him, but he focused enough to say, “Your parents are nice. They love you.”
You looked up at the stars again, running your fingers idly across the arm of the chair. “Yeah. They’re great. They’ve always supported me, loving me no matter what hell I put them through. I was a… rebellious teenager, to say the least.” You paused for a moment, as if you were contemplating on what to say next. “What about your parents?”
Azriel ground his teeth, not wanting to start that conversation. “I’m not close with them,” was all he said. He hated his father, and he didn’t want to bring up his sweet mother. He hadn’t been able to go see her before he was brought here, and now his heart shattered at the thought of never hearing her gentle voice singing to him again.
He wondered how his mother was doing, if her mental state had improved in his absence. Az doubted it. His mother had been spouting nonsense and blabbering at walls since he had saved her from that wretched war camp four hundred years ago.
“Do you have siblings?” Azriel asked, genuinely curious about your family situation. Plus, he wanted to steer the conversation away from his own horrible family circumstances.
“No. It’s just me. My parents always said I was enough to handle,” you said with a laugh, but your tone was warm and affectionate. “What about you?”
He stopped for a moment, thinking about how much of his life he wanted to disclose. “I have two brothers. We’re not related by blood, but we’re brothers all the same.” He was unable to keep the sadness from his voice as he said it. The thought of Rhys and Cassian sent a sharp pang through his chest, and he closed his eyes, trying to fight off the memories that washed through him like a flood.
After that, the conversation died off, and the two of you sat in silence as the stars shone brightly overhead. Azriel focused on the sound of the wind blowing through the trees, the water lapping against the bank of the bayou. He gripped the chair in his hands as he concentrated on his breathing, keeping it steady.
Breathe. In. Out. Repeat.
“I need to get home,” he said at last, his voice ragged. “I can’t stay here. They need me.” He tried not to think about the unstable magic, about whether or not Rhys had fallen into a magic-induced insanity.
Was Prythian still there or had his world descended into madness, swallowed up in the darkness of whatever evil magic was at work?
Az was so caught up in his thoughts that he jumped slightly as he felt your warm hand grasp his, wrapping itself around his palm. He tried not to think of your flawless skin being so close to his ruined flesh. “We will figure this out, Azriel. Together,” you said, your voice firm and full of confidence. “I will help you.”
He smiled softly, moving his head over to look at you. Though it was dark, he could see the intense gleam in your eyes, the light of the moon reflecting in them. “You can call me Az, if you want. That’s what everyone calls me.”
You smiled back at him, and his heart stuttered in his chest as your dimples made an appearance again. “Well, it’s not special if everyone calls you that, now is it?” you asked, sitting up straight in the chair. You pulled your hand away as you looked at him, a wicked smile forming on your full lips. “I think I’ll come up with my own nickname for you…” you trailed off, still smiling at him. “Azzy.”
Azriel’s eyes widened in horror as you said the nickname, but he couldn’t deny the feeling of pleasure that rushed through his body as the name fell from your lips. “Do not call me that,” he said, trying and failing to keep the smile out of his voice.
“Whatever you say… Azzy,” you responded, still smiling at him.
Stubborn little human.
Azriel turned away, the effort of pestering you drained by an overwhelming tiredness. His eyelids grew heavy, drooping under the relentless assault of exhaustion that washed over him in waves. Though his body was mostly healed, he couldn’t ignore the persistent ache that clung to his bones- a silent reminder of what had been taken away from him.
He was almost asleep, swallowed up in that blissful darkness, when he heard you murmur, “What did the artist say about me?”
He fought to open his eyes as he tried to remember the conversation with Serena. It all blended together in his brain, the words about paintings and Prythian and the person she would talk to. He struggled to form the words as he mumbled, “She said she would contact someone who could help us, but we have to wait for them to get in touch.”
There was something else, though, but he couldn’t think past how tired he was.
“Oh, okay,” you murmured as you stood from the chair. “You need to get some sleep.”
“Hmm,” was all Azriel could get out as you hauled him up from the chair, pulling him by the arm as you walked back inside the house. He wanted to protest, as he was perfectly content to sleep outside beneath the stars.
But it was hot out here, and there was an ungodly number of bugs swarming around his face.
You paused as you dragged him into the living room, pulling your hands away to lace them behind your back. “Uh…” you stammered, looking up at him sheepishly. “This is only a one-bedroom.”
Azriel focused his tired eyes on you as he forced himself to say, “It’s fine. I can sleep on the couch.” He had slept in worse places, and he was so exhausted, he would probably be able to sleep on the floor at this point.
“Alright,” you said as you walked over to a small door on the far wall. You opened it and pulled out a blanket and pillow. You offered it to him and said, “Here. If you need more, you can grab some from that closet.”
He took the bundle from your arms and stumbled over to the couch, situating himself amongst the cushions. It was small, and his long legs hung over the edge as he lay there, but it was comfortable. So comfortable that he struggled to say, “Thank you.” His voice was so quiet and full of sleep that he wasn’t sure if you heard him.
“For what?”
“For saving me.” Az truly was thankful. He didn’t want to think of where he would be if he had landed somewhere else in this world instead of on your front lawn. If he had landed with someone else instead of the compassionate human woman standing before him.
He waited for a few moments, expecting some snarky response that would no doubt take him by surprise. But you only said, “You’re welcome.” Your voice was tight, filled with an emotion he couldn’t place due to his fatigue.
As he nestled himself deeper into the plush cushions, the soft rustle of your footsteps toward the bedroom door caught his fading attention. “Goodnight,” he attempted to say, but the word tumbled out slurred, sounding more like “moodmight” than anything recognizable.
“Goodnight, Azzy,” you said with a laugh as you closed the door behind you.
Azriel closed his eyes, listening to the faint sounds of water running, a sign that you were also getting ready to sleep. He pulled the blanket up, ignoring the feeling of his bare feet being exposed to the cold air of the house.
As he drifted off, he thought back to the conversation with the artist, suddenly remembering what she had said about you.
I’ve seen Y/N in my visions and dreams. They are… foggy to say the least, but it’s her.
That was what he needed to tell you. Oh well, he thought as his exhaustion overwhelmed any form of common sense. The peaceful darkness of sleep called to him, and he fell into it with open arms.
There was always tomorrow.

Somewhere in Prythian, Present Day
“I know it is her,” the female said, her voice full of venom and hatred. She looked over at her companion, a wicked smile forming on her face. “What shall we do?”
The male offered a malevolent smile back, his face contorting into a picture of malice and evil. “We must deal with her.”
The female hummed as she ran her finger along the edge of the mirror. Through the glass, she could see the city of New Orleans, the wretched humans walking along the streets, carrying on with their useless lives. “Yes,” she said, her voice growing distant. “We should.”
The male rolled his shoulders back, his grip tightening on the hilt of the sword sheathed at his waist. “Would you like me to kill her?” he asked. “I can get rid of her. Once I’m done with her,” he said with a depraved smile, “no one will know she even existed.”
The female pulled her hand away from the mirror, and she watched as the scene within the glass faded away. “No. Bring her to me.” She faced her companion, her armor rustling as she walked toward him. “I want to be the one to kill her. If I do not,” she said, her lips forming into a sneer, “that bitch will take everything from me. Everything we’ve been working for… It will be ruined.”
The male nodded once, but she could see the flash of anger in his eyes. “As you wish.” He started to turn away, focused solely on his new task.
“But,” the female called out, stopping him in his tracks, “deal with the shadowsinger. He could become a… problem.”
The male turned around and offered a graceful bow. “Consider it done, your grace.”

You were 15 when you experienced your first ‘heartbreak’. Though, you call it a ‘heartbreak’ solely because it was a “for the lack of a better word” situation. A week before summer break, your parents had announced that the three of you would be flying off to Jeju to visit your grandparents.
You adore your grandparents, and they adore you just as much. Before you started middle school, you remember constantly flying off to Jeju, or even taking the ferry, to visit them every holiday and school break possible. Even during the initial stage of your move to the small town, your parents had sent you off to your grandparents as they sorted out the heavier parts.
Your grandparents had brought you to the beach, taught you how to make kimchi and even brought you to one of the fireworks shows during your stay. But, when you started middle school and were bombarded by a shit ton of schoolwork, you weren’t able to visit them as often.
So, you were ecstatic when your parents announced the Jeju trip. Both Aki and Seungcheol could see the excitement and happiness in your eyes as you told them about your plans.
Aki asking you questions about Jeju while Seungcheol listens to both of you with a small smile on his face. “how long will you be there, pup?” he asks, cheek leaning against the palm of his hand.
“Uhm… I think maybe for two weeks? I’m not really sure… Dad did ask mom if she wanted me to tag along with them to London afterwards…”
“Oh? What are they gonna be doing in London?”
“They have a business meeting that lasts at least two days. But, they decided to stay back a week for a mini vacation.”
“Do you want to go?” Aki asks as she pops a piece of strawberry into her mouth, stealing a glance at Seungcheol, noticing the way his shoulders are slumped at the mention of you thinking of joining your parents overseas.
Dude looks like a puppy not wanting its owner to leave it alone… she thought to herself, finding the scene in front of her amusing.
“Well, whether or not you want to join your parents, I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself regardless!” she spoke.
“Take good care of yourself, pup,” Seungcheol added as he reached out a hand and patted your head, sending a faint blush spreading across your cheeks and a teasing smile on Aki’s lips, “If you ever need anything, call me, okay?”
“Or me!”
The older male rolled his eyes at Aki’s words, smiling when you nod your head.

“Seungkwannie!” you squealed out in happiness as you ran up to your cousin who was standing out at the gates of your grandparent's house, engulfing him in a big hug. “I can’t believe you’re here! Mom and Dad said that you’d be in Biyangdo!”
“And miss out on the chance to spend time with my favourite cousin? Never!” Seungkwan proclaimed as he pecked your cheek. “I haven’t seen you in years, ___! There’s no way I’d pass off the opportunity to spend time with you while you’re here!”
Seungkwan is your cousin from your mom’s side of the family. Before the age of 5, you don’t remember much about meeting Seungkwan other than the stories both your parents would tell you over family dinners. For example, when you asked them about the scar Seungkwan had on his chest, his dad said you were the one that left it on him. They proceeded to tell the story of how you had scratched Seungkwan because he had refused to let you watch Pocoyo on tv when both of you were just 3.
Or when his mom would ask you if you remembered Seungkwan hiding in the closet to scare you, but you ended up crying because you had thought he went home. So, instead of scaring you, he came out of the closet and both your parents found the two of you cuddled up on the floor the next morning
After Seungkwan helped you and your parents move the luggage into your grandparent’s home, Both of you sat on the porch, drinking the lemonade your grandmother had prepared. “How’re you, aunt and uncle doing?” he asks, “I heard from Uncle Lee that you’re starting high school soon! probably in a few months, right?”
“Things have been the same, besides the whole mom and dad having to go overseas occasionally and I had to stay with either Aki or Seungcheol.”
“Speaking of Seungcheol, how’s that little crush of yours on him going?” Seungkwan asked with a teasing smile, nudging your sides, “Ever thought of telling him before he graduates? There’s a chance he might head off to the big cities or even abroad for college.”
You were silent for a moment.
You have thought about telling Seungcheol your feelings, but you never thought about the timing. Now that his graduation is nearing, you still haven’t told him. As you were still stuck in your thoughts, Seungkwan places a hand on your shoulder, “Well, whatever happens, I wish you happiness.“
“You say that as if I’m leaving you forever.”
“Hey, let me be sentimental!”
Just as you rolled your eyes, you felt your phone vibrate - you had gotten a text from Aki.
aki: did you make it to Jeju safe? ___ bestie <3: yeap! ___ bestie <3: i’m with my cousin rn ___ bestie <3: [sent an attachment] aki: ooh, he’s cute ___ bestie <3: want me to introduce you? aki: gurl aki: don’t try to matchmake me when you’re struggling to tell Seungcheol about how you feel aki: and besides aki: your cousin is cute, but he’s not my type ___ bestie <3: wow ___ bestie <3: you really just did me dirty aki: i’m just saying ___ aki: better tell him before you lose the chance aki: besides your romantic struggles aki: have fun and take lots of pictures! aki: can’t wait to see them when you get back <3 ___ bestie <3: i will!
“Are you gonna stay here with grandma and grandpa while Aunt and Uncle Lee fly out to London?” Seungkwan asks as you set down your phone, refilling his glass of lemonade. You shrugged, still debating on whether or not you wanted to join your parents. “I’m honestly stuck in between… On one hand, I want to see what other countries are like. On the other, I haven’t seen grandma and grandpa in years…”
Your mother who was on her way to give you both a plate of strawberries overheard the conversation and tried her best to help you with your indecisiveness. “___, sweetie,” she began as she set the plate on the wooden porch floor, “you can always travel in the future when you’re all grown up.”
“That sounds like you just want her to stay here in Jeju so you and uncle can enjoy yourselves without her presence,” Seungkwan teased, earning a forehead flick from your mother.
“Well, she’ll be in your care too, Seungkwan. I hope I won’t return to a sassy, diva daughter after leaving her here with you.”
Seungkwan gasps dramatically, placing a hand over his chest at your mother’s statement. “Aunt Lee, I’m hurt and offended.”
“You’re just further proving my point, Seungkwan.”
“Hey, the sass could end up helping her in the future!”
Tumblr media
cheollie: hey, pup cheollie: mom said you and your parents made it to Jeju safely cheollie: how are you feeling? cheollie: did you get motion sickness during the flight? cheollie: did you eat dinner yet? sweet pup: ehh, the motion sickness wasn’t that bad sweet pup: grandma made lemonade :D sweet pup: and yes, i ate dinner! sweet pup: grandpa grilled some mackerel sweet pup: [sent an attachment] sweet pup: and look at how fat the strawberries are :0 sweet pup: [sent an attachment] cheollie: wow cheollie: those look good cheollie: hey, do you think it’s alright if we have a call? sweet pup: like, right now? cheollie: yea sweet pup: oh sweet pup: um, let me head out to the porch cheollie: take your time, pup
As you quietly exited the room you were staying in and out onto the porch, you picked up Seungcheol’s incoming call, feeling the butterflies in your stomach intensify when you heard his deep, “Hey, pup.”
“Hi, Cheollie! Have you had your dinner?” you asked, getting a small hum as a response. “Dad got a deal with a big client so he bought steak for us. Mom also cooked calamari.”
“Wow, it must’ve tasted amazing…”
“Yeah, it was. But, tell me about your dinner, ___. I’m sure you had more than just grilled mackerel.” Seungcheol chuckled, a blush spreading across your cheeks as you mentally cussed at how the older male still has an effect on you despite being 2 hours away and talking to you through a phone.
“Well… Mom made raw crabs and seafood soup!”
“Looks like my little puppy is eating well... That’s good.”
“Is there another reason you wanted to call, Cheollie?”
There was a moment of silence on the other end, making you slightly anxious. You hear a faint rustling, thinking he must be lying on his bed as he’s talking to you. A sigh was heard before Seungcheol told you his motive for calling you - and to say it had you on the floor was an understatement.
No, this man had you envisioning a future with him.
“I miss you.”
When you didn't respond, Seungcheol got worried, calling out your name on the other end while you remained stunned at his confession.
“U-uhm, yeah?”
“Did that make you uncomfortable, pup?”
“No, no, it just… It just caught me by surprise…”
You hear Seungcheol chuckle, and more rustling can be heard before he speaks again. “Well, I’m used to having you around me, twenty-four seven, ___. It feels weird when you’re not.”
“I’ll be back in two weeks, Cheollie. You’re being dramatic!”
Maybe he was, the older male thought to himself. But, he pushes that thought to the back of his head as he finally tells you the real reason he’s calling you.
“My parents are thinking of bringing me to Seoul this weekend to check out a few unis… I just thought that I’d let you know since, y’know… I’m graduating soon…”
Your heart sank at the mention of him graduating. You knew it was bound to happen - you even told yourself to not be too sad when he does end up moving out of Daegu for college. But, to hear it coming from Seungcheol himself, the reality hit harder.
“Oh… Well, I’m happy for you!” you tried your best to hide the sadness in your voice, though he still picked it up. “Pup, I’m not going away forever. You’ll still see me when I come back during breaks and when you leave for college, you can come over to Seoul, too!” he assures you, chuckling to himself as he continues, “Maybe our parents might even have us share an apartment so I can watch over you.”
Humming, you stared up into the sky, mesmerised by the stars that were scattered along the blanket of the night sky.
“___?”
“Yea…?”
“Remember what I taught you during our taekwondo sessions?”
“What about it?”
“Don’t forget how to use them, okay? Can’t have my little puppy all defenceless now, can I?”
you bit your lip as Seungcheol went on with his words, how he wished he could stay in Daegu longer so he could spend more time with you. How he wanted to explore the bigger city in Daegu with you (where he implies it being just two of you and without Aki who would often nag at him for having a bad taste in things).
“I’m gonna miss you…” you muttered quietly, not knowing how or what else you were supposed to say. You weren’t going to tell him about your feelings, that’s for sure. but, a part of you wished you could.
Who knows? Maybe you both could end up being something.
“It’s getting late, pup. you must be tired from the flight and settling in. Goodnight, ___.”
“Goodnight, Cheollie…”
When the call ended, you stared at the screen of your phone, a million thoughts racing through your head. You couldn’t put a finger on it, but you had a sinking feeling in your stomach. perhaps you were overthinking the whole situation or something wrong was bound to happen. Whatever it was, you quietly got back into your room and crawled into bed.
Tumblr media
Something didn’t feel right.
It was the weekend Seungcheol was due to head to Seoul to have a look at the city and attend a few of the education fairs - and not once, had you gotten a single message from him.
In fact, in the days leading up to that weekend, he had been quiet too. His replies were either short, took too long or there weren’t any replies at all.
It makes you feel uneasy.
“Still no updates from loverboy?” Seungkwan asks, glancing over your shoulder and peeking at your phone, seeing the wall of texts about how the past few days have gone down for you. When you sulkingly shake your head, Seungkwan’s heart aches as he sees his favourite cousin down in the dumps.
“Hey,” he calls out in a gentle tone, throwing an arm around your shoulder and pulling you close. “Maybe he’s just caught up with those college things. Sooner or later he’s bound to update you, right? Besides, you should be busy having fun here in Jeju!”
Looking at your phone one last time, you shoved it back into your pocket and let Seungkwan drag you to a food street, saying how they added more delicious treats since the last time you visited.
By evening, there was still no news about or from Seungcheol. You’ve tried calling him multiple times, but they all end up going to voicemail. It was starting to affect you and your parents began to take notice, but decided to not question it for fear of triggering an episode. After dinner, you decided to call Aki in an attempt to get some form of comfort.
“I just don’t understand, Aki,” you told her, “I texted him, even called him but I got nothing! What if something bad happened to him?”
“Hey now, you’re probably overthinking things. He might just be sorting those uni documents out - you know how lengthy and taxing they can be. Maybe, he’s just tired and needs some rest!”
“You think so?”
“It’s just a guess, ___. whatever it is, I’m sure it isn’t anything serious.”
Oh, how you wished it really wasn’t anything serious.
When the time came to send your parents off at the airport for their trip to London, you had sent a message to Seungcheol and yet again, you got no response. One thing you came to realise in recent years, was how big of an over-thinker you are. It was something you hated and while your family, Seungcheol and Aki have done whatever they can to help you lessen your overthinking, that still doesn’t stop it from creeping up on you from time to time.
Seungkwan does his best to cheer you up. Bringing you to more food streets, a maze field, and even the seaside to take your mind off of Seungcheol but alas, it was as if Seungcheol had taken over your mind just like the virus in ‘The Last of Us’. One evening as you sat on the sand of the beach, staring off into the horizon, Seungkwan came up and sat next to you.
“I know this might not sound nice, but you can’t let something like Seungcheol not responding to you ruin your trip, ___. Sure, it’s upsetting having someone you’ve known for years and care for go ghost on you, but it’s kind of… pathetic, to let it ruin what could be a fun summer vacation.”
As much as those words hurt you, Seungkwan was right.
You hadn’t seen your family that lived in Jeju for years and now that you can, you’re letting something like your crush not responding to you ruin it. “Then, what should I do, Kwannie…?” you asked, wiping the tears that were starting to stream down your face, “I don’t wanna leave Jeju knowing I didn’t get to spend time with you and our grandparents…”
“How about you try calling him only once? If he doesn’t pick up, we’ll forget about it and move on, okay?”
You give it a thought, minutes passing by before you pick up your phone and dial Seungcheol’s number, placing it near your ear.
“We’re sorry, the number you have dialled cannot be reached.”
Seungkwan noticed your body shaking as you redialled the number, your breathing starting to grow shallow.
“We’re sorry, the number you have dialled cannot be reached.”
“___?” Seungkwan calls out, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. When you began to cry, he pulled you into a hug, rubbing your back as you cried your heart out. “Shhh, it’s okay, ____. it’s okay.”
Tumblr media
When you got back to Daegu, your heart dropped at the sight of the empty house next to yours. the entire house looked as if it were fully emptied (which it was) - the potted plants Mrs. Choi had displayed on the gates were nowhere to be seen, the shoes that were neatly arranged on the shoe rack weren’t there anymore, and the Choi’s family car wasn’t parked in its usual place.
“I guess they must’ve moved since Seungcheol is going to start college soon…” your mother tells your father who hums in response as he unloads the luggage from the trunk of the taxi. When she notices the sadness and tears in your eyes, she immediately starts comforting you.”Oh, sweetie… Does it upset you that much?”
“I… I couldn’t even say goodbye to him…” you sobbed out, “I couldn’t even see him one last time before he left…”
“Oh, princess…” your father coos after bidding the taxi driver goodbye, hugging you tight as your mother does the same, “I’m sure he feels sad for not being able to do the same, hmm?”
“Will… Will I… Will I be able to see him again?” you asked through hiccuped sobs, wiping your tears away as more kept spilling. Your mother nods, giving you a pat on the head. “I'm sure you will, honey.”
“He said he’s thinking of joining University of Pledis, right?” your father asked, a small smile on his face when you nod, “Then, you just need to study hard and get in there too! That way, you can finally be reunited with prince charming!”
despite your tears, you still manage to laugh at your dad’s tease. “Dad!”
“Ah-ah, don’t think we didn’t know about your little crush on Seungcheol, ___.” he responded, chuckling as he gave your arm an assuring squeeze.
“Whatever the future has in store, I’m sure the two of you will meet again.”

iii. "im not a princess, this aint a fairytale"

Summary: Older brother’s best friend!Sam Monroe who was the first to break your heart when you were 14 and he was 16.

Tumblr media
You were ecstatic when you entered high school, there were more opportunities for you to see Sam instead of only seeing him when he came over. The night before your first day you imagined all the ways you could possibly see him; in the hallways, having lunch together, maybe and hopefully just one class together.
And your first semester didn’t disappoint. The first few weeks were equally nerve-wracking and exciting. As you were entering a brand new, bigger school, you didn’t know where your classes were. And you got lost often, getting swept away by the larger crows in the narrow halls into some part of the school you had never been in. But Sam was somehow always there to save you by grabbing your heavy textbooks in one hand, your hand in the other and quickly leading you to your class.
“I know it’s hard, but you have to push your way through these assholes. Especially the ones who stand right in the middle of the fucking hall.” And he gestured to the group who were indeed standing in the middle of the hall and walked right through them, taking you with him. You apologized to the girl you shouldered.
“Sam, we could’ve just gone around them!”
“Yeah, we could’ve. But what do they expect standing there?:
“I don’t think it’s that serious.”
“Yes it is, now's the time to learn how to put your foot down or they’ll walk all over you.”
Or when he helped you learn how to open your locker because you just couldn’t get it, “It’s clockwise, then counterclockwise but skip the second number, then go directly to the last number clockwise.”
Maybe the lockers were just old, but you remember the time when he was sure he got the combination right but it just wouldn’t open. And he kept trying, whispering “fuck you, fuck you.”
“Sam, my class is about to start, hurry!” You were only half serious, the other part of you couldn’t help but find his frustration and growing panic funny. You covered your laugh with your hand as he looked at you with wide eyes, “it’s not fucking opening.”
You burst out laughing when he finally got it open because it took him aggressively pulling at the lock and a fall to the ground.
And you loved walking to your third hour because the two of you would cross paths, and not a day would go by where he wouldn’t say hi with a small wave, and a gentle ruffle to your hair if he was close enough. You felt special because out of all the people and his own friends he’d see, you were the one he’d acknowledge.
But your favorite times together was when he would walk you home and carry your extremely heavy backpack for you. It was the best way to end the school day, the two of you recapping your days. How hard a test was, what you had for lunch, how annoying a particular teacher was, and any other anecdotes. You thought whatever the two of you were would only grow.
-
You weren’t exactly when it began happening, all you knew was that the boy you once got all starry eyed about was turning into the ones you didn’t like.
Maybe it was when he got into the wrong crowd, the ones who always stunk of smoke and ditched school. You found it strange when you saw him being friendly with a few of them since he was always the one who turned you away from them, “Promise me you won’t end up like one of those morons, (y/n). That stuff is too fucking vile for you.”
Or when he slowly stopped walking you home to go hang out with them. It made you sad but you understood that he couldn’t dedicate all of his time after school to you. He had his own friends and hobbies. But were you right to be concerned when you noticed he started cutting classes and skipping school to be with said friends? You caught him one time, trying to sneak away and he seemed surprised to see you had seen him.
“Hey, (y/n).”
“Hi, Sam. Where are you going?” You asked softly, not wanting to anger him. He just seemed so angry and jumpy these days.
“We’re just… gonna get an early lunch,” He could tell you didn’t really believe him when all you gave was a small, tight lipped smile and single head nod, he came closer and dipped his head down as he whispered “I’ll be back, I promise. And I’ll get you something if you keep quiet, okay?”
You felt like you didn’t have a choice, you obviously weren’t going to say no and force him to stay. And the bribe just didn’t seem right, it gave you a strange feeling in your gut.
“No, that’s okay. I, um, I really have to get to class.” And you left with a small smile and quick turn, wanting the entire interaction to be over. It was weird to see him this way, and it left a weight on your shoulders to just let him go. Should you have at least tried to stop him? You looked out the window and were even more upset to see your brother with that group as well. Maybe it was seeing both of them this way, but you had the sudden urge to cry.
Sam did end up getting you a large Dr. Pepper, but you just couldn’t will yourself to drink it and you threw it away.
With each passing day he was getting further and further away from you, but you continued to push through it, hoping that the boy who taught you how to ride a bike and saved your winter dance night was still in there. He had to be.
So you kept trying to talk to him. Which included helping him cut classes, reminding him of tests, telling him about your day. And maybe you were doing too much, and maybe you were embarrassing him in front of his cool friends. And maybe you should’ve expected such a response.
“Jesus, you are so fucking annoying. Don’t you have any of your own friends?”
That one hurt the most. It wasn’t just the fact that he knew you weren’t the most sociable girl. In fact, it was hard for you to talk to others and to keep a conversation going. So the answer was no.
It was also the angry look he gave you. The furrowed brows, clenched jaw, and the eye roll he gave when you didn’t answer. You’d never seen him this way. It was always playful smiles and soft words. The closest you had seen him this angry was when you didn’t bother to look both ways before crossing the street and you almost got run over, “you could’ve gotten killed, I shouldn’t have to tell you to look both ways when crossing a street.”
But that was tough love if anything, and he hugged you right after to calm you down because you were pretty shaken up and close to tears, “alright, that’s enough, you’re fine.”
You stood there in front of him, eyes wide and chest rising and falling rapidly, willing yourself to stay collected and calm while it felt like your whole world was crumbling in front of you.
“Just… stay the hell away from me.” And he left.
The rest of the day was a blur since Sam’s words left you dejected and shattered. You weren’t focused in your classes and didn’t pay any mind to what the people around you said. It was a constant replay of what he said to you and a constant fight to keep your emotions in. Who were you supposed to turn to for this?
You cried the entire night. You thought you were only being helpful, and to know that he actually saw you as a burden made you panic. For every little problem you had, you did end up going to him for help. For every stupid, little story you had, you ended up telling him. And when you felt lonely, you ended up going to him. But you couldn’t help it. Sam always seemed so happy to fix whatever issue it was you were having, and he looked like he was deeply interested in your trivial tales, and he was just so fun to be around. He was funny and kind and gentle and where is he now?
Or did he always feel that way and put up a good front? No, it couldn’t be that, it was too genuine. Did you happen to read too much into his actions? Possibly. Then you thought if the roles were reversed, kind of. If there was a younger girl in your life you certainly wouldn’t treat her meanly. You would always have a helping hand extended out just in case she needed it. Like a big sister.
These thoughts and questions swirled in your mind until you came to the conclusion that you were just a young girl very in love with the older boy who only saw you as his best friend's young sister. And that he was done entertaining her and moving with his own crowd.
It was this that finally opened your eyes and made you go to sleep. It was your turn now to grow up and move on.

SHELL, FLESH, WATER.
Hyoma Chigiri suffers a major football loss. He also lets his partner see his vulnerable side. Warnings: angst, comfort, chigs is sad, nudity (???), bathing together in a sfw way!!!!, established relationship, just vulnerable hyoma letting out his fears. 1.4 k wc. not proofread because i don't have power and i'm lazy.
Tumblr media
The essence of HYOMA CHIGIRI resembled that of an alluring, intriguing fruit, with an exterior so polished that it conceals the rich, soft flesh that lays inside. Like a coconut's hard and refined shell, Hyoma's exterior protected the raw flesh he most desperately wanted to keep to himself, with his flowing, aggressive emotions encapsulated by his public, self-assured persona.
The shell of Hyoma Chigiri consisted of ego, tenacity, and superiority. The self-confidence which the redhead possessed had him feeling ecstatic to tread the path that lead towards becoming the world's best striker. Though, there were very few instances in which Hyoma Chigiri had his shell crumble and be crushed to oblivion, finding his tender flesh be surrounded by defeat and humility.
The first instance took place in his middle school years, with his superiority shattering unexpectedly as his torn ACL left him bedridden for months, being consumed by the fear of returning to the sport he once loved.
The second instance happened when he got substituted during the Blue Lock Eleven's match against the Japan U-20, as his lack of stamina and his overall exhaustion left him benched and catching his breath for the remainder of the match.
The third and most recent instance, was when Manshine City got disqualified during the Champions League quarterfinals. It was a gruesome tie which led to overtime and then penalties, with Hyoma's penalty kick being blocked by Re Al's goalkeeper, thus ending in a crushing 3-2 defeat.
He had succumbed to the pressure, waiting for more than half a minute to receive a new ball, as the previous one had been kicked towards the stands. The screams and curses that came from the stands were not the only pressure he had to bear, as there was a sudden, sharp pain coming from his knee.
His knee was a ticking time bomb, and as he pushed his leg forward to kick, he realized that in that moment, he had become utterly useless.
A soft penalty. A floater, aimed for the Re Al goalkeeper's face. The goalie had no problem catching it. It had practically landed straight into his hands.
Hyoma Chigiri was at a loss for words.
His shell had once again cracked, and he struggled to compose himself in front of millions. It was not like he could have run away, as the pain from his knee left him unable to exit the field by himself. His closest teammates, Nagi and Mikage, had to carry him out, with Mikage asking to be handed his phone to send a message.
It was a no-brainer who he was texting.
Because having stood by Hyoma's side as his partner, meant that who Hyoma needed the most during times as though as these, was you.
You knew Hyoma like the back of your hand, having explored every inch of him in both physicality and mind. Breaking through his outer husk was no easy task at first, as your redheaded boyfriend always scurried to pick up the pieces in an attempt to contain his emotions and keep them to himself. It took time for Hyoma to give in, eventually granting you the permission to wander into his rich inner world of emotions, as well as granting you the role of his anchor, providing the security and comfort he most desperately longed for.
Mikage's text was not necessary for you to recognize that Hyoma would be in need of reassurance. The frustrated expression your boyfriend had on his face as he scanned the crowd in hopes of finding you was enough, with his state of distress affecting his concentration, thus hindering his search.
The second the referee blew the whistle to mark the match's end, you stood up from your seat, beelining towards your car. After sliding in the key and starting the car, you shot Hyoma a message, letting him know that you would pick him up at his designated exit. After receiving a quick 'K' as a response, you prepared yourself for what was to come.
Because the pain was shared, and Hyoma Chigiri would no longer have to bear his troubles on his own.
It pained you. Why wouldn't it? Seeing how your boyfriend let himself into your car, his gaze purposefully avoiding yours as he gulped. He opened his mouth as he reached for the seatbelt, and as he clicked the seatbelt down, no words seemed to come out. He let out a shaky breath, as his eyes glimmered from the tears he refused to let out. Not for now, at least.
"Just drive, please."
The ride was quiet, with neither of you daring to say a word. Knowing Hyoma and how intense he could be, it was best to maintain the peace and avoid any comments that could set him off. It was hard, to intentionally ignore the sniffles that came from your side, your peripheral vision showing the redhead using the back of his hands to wipe the tears flowing down his cheeks.
You had to fight back tears.
Stepping foot into your shared home, you headed to the bathroom. Without hesitation, your boyfriend followed your trail. It had become a routine for the two of you. Whenever one of you was feeling off, the other would run a bubble bath, lighting some scented candles to help the other unwind and relax.
As the water filled up the tub, you opened the cabinet next to the shower, pulling out a candle and a lighter. Carefully, you poured some citrus-scented soap into the running water, swirling the water with your hand to mix it up. You lit the candle and set it to the side, on top of the sink, then drying your hands with the hand towel. Turning off the tap, you turned around to face the door, hearing how your boyfriend slipped off from his uniform, and softly stepped into the tub. You reached for the doorknob.
"I'll be in the living room if you need me, okay?"
Hyoma hummed in disapproval. Curious, you turned to face him, as he patted the edge of the tub. You tilted your head to the side in confusion, as he plopped his hand back inside the water.
"Don't leave" he pleaded, "join."
You offered him a wistful smile as you raised your index finger and swayed it, motioning for him to turn his head. You stripped your clothes from your body, letting them fall onto the bathroom floor. You cautiously stepped inside the tub, taking a seat facing your boyfriend.
His knees were drawn up to his chest, with his arms wrapped around them. His gaze was fixated on the light, pinkish scar that decorated his knee, almost as if he looked at it with disgust.
"I missed the penalty shot."
"It's okay, Hyo. There'll be other chances."
"We lost the match because I failed."
"It's not your fault, Hyoma. There's always next season, baby."
"My fucking knee is holding me back."
A sob escaped his lips, and his hands went up to cover his face. Hyoma was disheartened, completely consumed by the thought of the loss being his fault. It felt like a setback, as he now had to rest due to his injured knee. His dispirited cries echoed in the bathroom walls, with Hyoma trying to spill his guts in between sobs.
He explained every thought, and every feeling. How the pain had held him back, making him fail his floater kick. How he saw the goalkeeper talk to his substitute who had played against him before, and how he could have potentially warned him about Hyoma's floater kicks being aimed at the center. More importantly, he expressed his sorrow, with his doubts of ever playing in next season's Champions League plaguing his mind.
He leaned forward, engulfing you in his arms, burying his face in the crook of your neck. You wrapped your arms around his torso, using the tip of your index finger to draw circles on his back.
"Sorry I disappointed you" he apologized.
You shook your head in response, pulling him closer to you. "You will never disappoint me because you lose a match, Hyo. You are my greatest pride, and I wouldn't trade you for the world. I will forever be proud of you."
You felt his lips curve into a small smile.
"I love you, Yn."
"I love you too, Hyoma."
He detached himself, with his eyes meeting your own and his hands cupping both your cheeks. Guiding you towards him, Hyoma pulled you in for a sweet, heartfelt kiss.
"Don't ever leave me. Please."
"I won't."
"Promise?"
"Pinky."
"Even if I didn't win the Champions."
"Baby, the Champions is a freaking sham anyway. I'll be by your side until i breathe my last breath."

i have a really cool prompt
hope you like my idea,
could you perhaps write a story about the current logan situation with loganxy/n ??
i love your blog soooo muchhhh
Logie and the Australian car incident
Tumblr media
pairing: AstonMartin!y/n x Logan Sargeant (can be read platonically or romantically)
author's note: I haven't written any fanfic stuff in literal years (middle school me is quacking) but I tried my best with that one. Looking forward to any suggestions or critiques you may have :) (insert obligatory English is not my native language here) (please send promts!!!!)
The day starts off as any other day on a busy race weekend would and you are busy running around the Aston Martin garage making sure everything is in order before you return to your place at the back of the garage. You let your gaze sweep over the garage one last time before getting out your work phone and texting your boss, Lawrence, that everything is in order. The cars seem good, the mechanics had no complaints and Lance and Fernando were reasonably happy with everything. A satisfied smile washes over your face, your job was busy but reasonably easy, as the team caretaker your sole mission was to make sure the team was happy, the drivers taken care of, and the PR supervisors were not losing their minds running after their drivers while also texting Lawrence even the most minute details about his son and the other driver.
It seems quite redundant to you, but Lawrence Stroll pays well and who are you to turn down a job as a glorified team nanny.
You take a seat at the back and watch the first practice session absentmindedly, letting your gaze wander down to your phone occasionally, and scrolling through Twitter, scoffing at all the hate towards the current grid. It never ceases to amaze you how people can be so hateful, but then again, some people are just unhappy about their own lives. Looking up at the screen you watch a Williams car hit the wall on the right before sliding across the track and grinding its way to a stop on the left barrier. You gasp as you jump up, the rest of the garage wincing in sympathy as the car finally stops. You quickly turn to a mechanic nearby. “Who was that?”, you ask a little panicked as you watch the red flag fly and a driver in a Williams race suit climb out of the cockpit. “Albon, I think”, the mechanic replies helpfully as you try and suppress a relieved sigh. You still feel sorry for Alex but simultaneously thanking your lucky stars that Logan was not the one in an accident this time.
When Logan first got signed by Williams you both were ecstatic, you had met years ago when your parents had taken you on a vacation to Florida where you met Logan and you’ve kept in touch ever since. You had already been working for Aston Martin when Logan started in F1 and the fact that you could spend a lot more time together now served as further motivation to both of you to give it your best. You quickly shoot him a text, knowing he won’t be responding until later, before sending your boss a quick update and making sure the crash had not affected your team.
You honestly had forgotten you texted Logan in the first place as you watch the cars head out for the second practice session, Alex staying back in the pits, watching his teammate drive. You smile as you send Logan some memes you had found on twitter, knowing he would have a laugh once he got back to his room after the strenuous practice sessions of the day. Aston Martin, for once, had no major issues you had attend to and you could lean back and relax, as much as one in a Formula 1 garage can relax, in your seat while harassing the Aston Martin Instagram Admin with Memes you think they should be posting asap.
As the second practice session ends you help the team pack up and prepare for the next day as the drivers attend to their media duties and you stretch in relief as the first day of the Australian Grand Prix comes to an end.  After having everything sorted you get out your work phone and sign off for the day before taking out your personal phone and responding to some texts before checking your chat with Logan, seeing that he had read your messages but not responded. ‘You ok?’, you send him before shrugging off any worry you might have. Surely, he was just busy, after all, he was the only Williams driver that would be starting on Sunday. You really wouldn’t want to be in his shoes, the weight of the entire team and all the fans’ expectations resting on your shoulders. You might have a lot of responsibility but at least you were free of the expectations fans place on the drivers, mechanics and team principals.
You quickly slip into the shower of your private hotel room, a perk you were eternally grateful for, and put on some pajamas before order room service. You had earned it after all and looking after your figure was thankfully not a concern you had. ‘Ignoring your bestie? That’s not how I know you Loggie!’ you text Logan as you open the door for the food you had ordered and sit down before digging into the pepperoni pizza you had been craving for a week.
You startle as you hear a knock from your hotel room door. You shoot a quick glance at your phone, 11pm. You quietly approach the door and look through the peephole cautiously. Who would disturb you that late on a race weekend? Looking through the hole you see Logan at the door, his face unusually pale and his expression unnervingly neutral. Quickly you reach for the doorhandle, pulling the door open. “Logie? What got you a-knocking that late?”, you ask jokingly but the lighthearted smile on your face quickly fades as he stands on the swell of your door like a man lost, his eyes suspiciously watery. “Oh dear”, you mumble as you quickly pull him into your room and heard him towards your bed, letting him sit down before standing before him and looking at him with a stern expression. “What’s wrong?”, you ask, concern written all over your face.
He sighs, falling back onto the bed. “They’re taking my car.”, his voice sounds wobbly as he explains. “Who is taking your car?”, you ask, your voice confused.
“James. He said Alex has a higher chance of scoring and I get it, but I tried so hard, you know? They said they trusted me, and I was ready to proof how much I have improved and now I can’t drive at all. I didn’t crash the car! It’s not my fault! I didn’t do anything…”, he rambles, his voice flowing between sadness, anger and betrayal before ending in defeat. You look at him, he still has his upper body lying on your bed, his feet dangling off the side as he continues explaining what had happened. Quietly you sit down next to him on the bed and gently stroke through his hair as you let him talk out his frustrations. “y/n? What do I do now?”, Logan asks as he looks up at you, his eyes still wet but trying his hardest to not shed a tear.
“I will put the fear of God into that good-for-nothing son of a bitch.”, you explain very matter of factly. “I’m gonna walk down to the Williams hospitality and I’m gonna scream at your team principal!”, you declare with a huff as you get off of your bed and towards where you kicked off your shoes when you came back from the paddock earlier that night.
“Y/N, do NOT do that.”, Logan warns as he gets up and grabs your hand. “That is just going to make it worse.” “Okay but it’s also gonna make me feel a lot better ‘cause who does he think he is? Taking your car and giving it away. I’m gonna make him regret this entire week” you say angrily as you look up at him with determination and the wrath of someone who’s best friend was just wronged in your eyes.
“Please don’t”, Logan asks with sad eyes, gripping your hand even tighter. “Please just stay with me tonight, I feel sick. I just want to cry.”, he admits to you as you feel your resolve break. “But- “, you trail off as you watch him stand before you, his hand still tightly gripping yours. You sigh in defeat before squeezing his hand. “Right but only ‘cause you asked me to, if it was up to me…”, you stop, leaving the threat hang in the air of your hotel room as you head towards the small desk. “Pizza”, you declare as you shove the leftovers of your pizza into Logans hands. “My TV has Netflix, what do you want to watch?”, you ask as you throw yourself into the hotel room bed and turn on the flatscreen TV hanging opposite it.
Logan lets out a surprised laugh and sits down next to you, the pizza carton still tightly in his hands as he gets out a slice and lets you choose whatever show you find on the homepage. The evening continues in relative silence as Logan finishes the pizza and you sit in the bed, leaning onto each other. “I’m still sending him negative vibes, like spiritually”, you grumble as he giggles before slipping off to sleep for the night.
