Karl Korn stellt ein neues Findbuch vor. Übersicht über die Stadtgeschichte [2]

Der leidenschaftliche Archivar und Heimatforscher Karl Korn hat gestern sein neues Findbuch vorgestellt, das eine Übersicht über fast alle Aufsätze, Bücher und Quellen der Geschichte der Stadt Mettmann beinhaltet. Korn (79) hat ein Vierteljahr für diese Dokumentation gebraucht, die "keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit erhebt", wie er betont. Zu finden sind in dieser Bibliographie die Titel von Professor Georg Kuhlmey, der den jungen Karl Korn für die Heimatgeschichte begeisterte. Als 14jähriger hatte Korn auf der Schreibmaschine des Gymnasiums, das heute als Rathaus genutzt wird, Abschriften der handgeschriebenen Aufzeichnungen erstellt. Aber auch die Bücher von Dr. Karl Klokkenhoff, Rektor Paul Winkels, von Gertrud Midell und von Horst G. Hütten sind im Findbuch aufgelistet. Natürlich fehlen auch nicht die Hinweise auf die Abschriften Korns von allen Tauf-, Ehe- und Sterbebücher von St. Lambertus und von der Chronik der Bürgermeisterei Mettmann. Karl Korn übte gestern Kritik am Stadtarchiv. Es sei fast ausschließlich ein Zeitungsarchiv, unübersichtlich und besitzte zur Orientierung nur einen wenig aussagefähigen Katalog. Da er keine "Lobby" in Mettmann gefunden habe, hat Korn nur drei Exemplare seines Findbuches erstellt und drei Kurzfassungen. Weder die Stadt Mettmann noch die "Aulen" hätten ihm finanziell unter die Arme gegriffen. Dennoch schenkte Korn ein Exemplar der Stadt und eines den "Aulen Mettmannern".
