You cannot convince me that the Reyes brothers would not love Brother Bear and similar movies with themes of brotherhood (except Big Hero 6, which is strictly forbidden because the older brother dies and Gabe can't have that. Technically, the older brother also dies in Brother Bear but shhhh). Eli despises children movies, which only adds another reason for Robbie to indulge in them with his little brother.

Gabe has memorized On my way and sings it along the movie. Robbie sometimes joins if he is in a particular good mood but if you ask him he will deny it.

the build up to the actual taking of the photograph in ghost quartet is sooo fucking good. i love the way GQ tells the story by circling around the event itself & giving us bits of information (& it does this with OG Rose & Pearl's story too; the way the musical ends with The Wind & Rain drives me up the fucking wall in a good way)

before anything we know rose's camera is broken. then we get the play-by-play in The Subway– girl is pushed onto the track, no one can stop, the photographer doesn't help. then in The Photograph we see the fallout & learn why her camera is broken: she smashed it because she's disgusted. she took a photograph instead of being a hero. immediate next song we learn what happens after the camera shop from Scheherazade: Rose gets a new camera and the camera shop owner gives her the number of the subway driver. then you get usher part 3 (one of my favorite songs), where we see the events of The Subway but with full details. right before Roxie kills Lady Usher, we hear the photograph before we see it ("I heard a flashbulb rip")

And God. the way the song shifts when Pearl falls onto the tracks. we get so much buildup around the photograph, and usher part 3 literally slows down time to walk us through it: Pearl is pushed onto the track. Rose is there. Rose takes the photograph instead of being a hero. Pearl smiles for the camera. "I let the train rip through me."

& then in Midnight, Gelsey tells us that Rose and the subway driver have kids– sisters.

I absolutely hate it when any show is canceled before getting the chance to tell its full story, it's a deeply unfair thing to happen in any case

but I will admit. there is sometimes a TINY element of relief I feel when I hear what the plans were for the followup that never got to be and the plans were. bad.

it's been days and i still feel sad about the announcement of the last season of bbc ghosts. i get that there are hundreds of shows to watch afterwards but could there ever be a show that would perfectly replicate the emotions this show made me feel? will i ever enjoy watching tv shows without relentlessly looking at the ratings and other people's opinions about it online? will i ever find a show that would encapsulate my own struggles and views about life? will i ever feel represented and validated again by a show? what's more to life after bbc ghosts?

Good Eclipse: I’ve been told it gets easier to deal with. Just another memory. It happens more when you think about it or when something reminds you of it.

Ghost Eclipse: I don’t want to move on. I want to stay here, I want to be with my family.

Good Eclipse: And you can do that. You don’t have to move on. But there’s always the option to.

Ghost Eclipse: Will I get violent if I stay?

Good Eclipse: No, there’s some who stay and aren’t violent. Learning to possess objects is one thing I know helps with the violent tendencies. It gives it like a reset. So maybe me and Moon can make you something you can inhabit when you feel dangerous.
