tell us about yunobo
why's he ur funky lil guy
id love to hear why
This is a very good ask I don’t think I’ve ever actually told anyone why I like Yunobo so much
Preemptive spoiler alert for both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom by the way
(Also this turned into a bit of a character analysis on Yunobo I’m so sorry it’s so ridiculously long lmao)
Personally my favorite Zelda “race” or whatever has always been gorons, huge fellas who mine rocks and eat rocks and are rocks, just big ol walking boulders with kind souls, I think they’re very silly and cute. But I really like Yunobo because he’s not really like any of the other gorons (He’s not like other girls!!), because he’s so much more… emotional? I guess? In each of the Goron race’s appearances throughout the Zelda games they’re portrayed pretty much the same way, either tough and brave and heroic (Like Darunia, Daruk and Darmani), or chill and generally nonchalant (Like… pretty much every other goron). Though they are kind and playful, they’re also tough and unmoving as stone. Yunobo (on a surface level), is neither of these things. When you first meet him in BotW he runs and yelps in fear, and a great portion of the fan base calls him a coward because of this. He’s very unsure of himself, and unsure of a lot of things in general. In the artbook “Creating a Champion”, his description is as follows:
“Yunobo is the grandchild of the Champion Daruk. He has an adult body but still has some growing up to do. He is easily frightened by monsters and isn't exactly what one might call brave, but, driven by thoughts of protecting his people, he gathers enough courage to aid Link in quelling the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. He is earnest and naive, readily believing nearly anything anyone tells him.”
So yeah. He’s a scaredy-cat. He’s a pushover. He’s incredibly naive and a bit childish.
AND YET.
He helped save his people, and the entirety of Hyrule… TWICE. Because he is brave. Bravery is not an immediate heroic desire to face any danger for the sake of the greater good.
It is action in spite of fear.
He is afraid. He’s unsure, and he’s flighty, and he’s defensive. But he swallows these fears and chooses to act in spite of them, helping link to take back control of Vah Rudania, and saving his people. For me, seeing the journey Yunobo takes to find his courage is a lot more satisfying than if he were just already a brave go-getter from the moment you meet him.
And then things get even more interesting in the second game (again, spoilers for TotK ahead).
After he helps Link take back Vah Rudania and Calamity Ganon is defeated, Yunobo goes right to helping his people recover from the the post-calamity craziness. He’s incredibly devoted to them. He’s a helper through and through, willing to do anything it takes for the sake of others. His loyalty knows absolutely no bounds. But unfortunately, this can get the better of him.
Like when his good friend “Zelda” shows up and gives him some weird mask and tells him to put it on.
Honestly, when I saw Yunobo for the first time in TotK, I was one of the many people who was terrified that Nintendo might have made him an asshole for no reason. I mean, they gave Sidon a wife so people would stop shipping him with Link, I wouldn’t put it past them (totally backfired though lol, now they’re just a polycule).
But instead they had actually put him into one of my favorite character tropes: self-conscious but good-natured character easily susceptible to corruption (See: Luigi [SPM], Bolin [TLoK], Locksley [AS:TNC] -they’re all also green for some reason? Crazy). I really like this particular trope because it shows the very real (and frankly scary) way that those with the best intentions can most easily be led astray. As someone who’s kinda struggled with having a people-pleaser personality (incredibly susceptible to peer-pressure, neglecting my own needs over the needs of others, not able to set boundaries, etc), this trope is a relatable cautionary tale for me. Those who just want to help more often than not end up helping those with bad intentions without realizing.
Buuuuut I won’t go too far into all that (it’ll get sad fast eugh)
My main point is that Yunobo is brave, kind, and loyal (even to a fault), and for me that’s a wonderful formula for a character as nervous and dopey as him. Yeah he’s got rocks for brains, but he’s got a heart as big as a lynel’s. I don’t throw this term around liberally but I would say he could definitely count as a himbo.
Ugggghhh this is getting too long ffs. I’ll just list a couple more reasons why he’s important to me specifically.
He is… very large. Ahem. I like big fellas. You know how it is. ANYWAY
He’s a bit dopey but he’s definitely not incompetent. He’s the president of a highly successful mining company and he’s helped save Goron City (and the entirety of Hyrule) TWICE. That’s pretty cool. I’ve seen a lot of people shit on him in the first game for “always getting spotted by the drones” but like. Dude that’s your fault. He told you he would come when called and stop when told to, it’s on you if he walks into a searchlight.
He’s got very intriguing lore (to me at least), that leaves a lot of room for speculation. Like, he’s the “grandson” of Daruk, but how does that work?? Gorons are born from the mountain itself, they don’t give birth. There’s a pair of Gorons in TotK that call themselves “brothers” (still a bit confusing since most gorons throughout the series call each other brother anyway), but they explain it was because they were born in the same cave at the same time, so they’re like family. Does this mean Yunobo was just born in the same cave Daruk was, and therefore inherited his “genes” and his magical abilities? Maybe! Maybe it’s a really cool special cave, right at the summit or something, where his whole lineage was born all the way back to the first sage of fire. Cool stuff to think about!
He’s not the leader of his people, in either game. That job belongs to Bludo. In the second game he’s definitely got a lot more influence and does occupy a position of leadership, but he’s not the chief. He’s just some Goron. The role of aiding link in both games is thrust onto him entirely because of his lineage. But he takes responsibility for it. He understands the power he holds, both as a champion’s descendant and as the Sage of Fire, and he steps up to the role. He feels a responsibility to his people and his city, even despite not being its official leader like the other champion’s descendants. That’s pretty cool.
He’s very sweet! I’ve talked about how kind and caring he is already but there’s a difference between doing it with a stoic sense of heroism or duty, and doing it with a big dopey grin and a genuine care for those he cares about. He’s often unsure and self-conscious, and yet he’s surprisingly optimistic about most things a lot of the time. He has a big smile (most gorons do), but he has an absolutely heart-melting laugh. I often tear up during the cutscene in which he sees the spirit of Daruk reclaiming Vah Rudania, him laughing and waving with such genuine joy and excitement, aghhhh it’s too much. Joe Hernandez certainly did a great job putting authenticity into Yunobo’s (and Daruk’s) emotions, this cutscene especially.
He has the best secret stone ability (gameplay wise). You cannot change my mind. Tulin is great for mobility and the other two are fine for tactical combat stuff, but none of them even come close to the versatility and power of Yunobo. Don’t have any good rock-breaking weapons and don’t want to use up bombs or zonai devices? Yunobo! Using a control stick-operated machine and can’t pull out your bow to snipe that pesky aerocuda? Yunobo! Wanna separate a big group of enemies from each other without wasting bombs? Yunobo! And don’t even get me started on the fact that when he’s on a vehicle, he’s got zero cooldown. You can hop on a hoverboard and decimate a molduga just by dribbling Yunobo on its head like a basketball.
All this being said I certainly think Yunobo is too often overlooked by fans for “being a coward”, or just… being a Goron? Gorons in general have often been a bit neglected in favor of the other more serious, conventionally attractive and *cough* slimmer *cough* Zelda races. It’s a bit disheartening seeing the amount of fan artists who don’t even have a clue how to approach drawing Yunobo or Daruk, simply because they don’t know how to draw bulky, fat or muscled characters. But I won’t preach too much on the subject, haha.
Long story short, I love Yunobo a whole lot and I’d love to give him a big hug and a smooch. That’s about it :))))
Also here’s a little sketch I made of him as a bonus for reading all that haha

Others have already been furrying the Raincode characters and doing a phenomenal job, but when I would peruse Danganrompa fanart I really liked seeing different and wildly varying interpretations for the characters' animal choices and now it is my turn, my GOD GIVEN DUTY TO PROVIDE IN THE GENISIS OF THE RAINCODE FANDOM, FOR THE HONOR OF THOSE WHO HAVE COME BEFORE ME.
For all of them I used their pose from the artbook renders. I'll say it's to keep them recognizable but that is actually a lie I'm just lazy.
Secretary Bird Halara:
Halara I did first and they were the one I was most jazzed to do because I love them dearly. I made them a secretary bird and I think it's a PERFECT fit. Ahem allow me to rattle off. Secretary birds are birds, so doomed by the narrative to have to stay away from cats, they are predatory birds and of course Halara would be at the top of the food chain. Speaking of predetory birds, secretary birds are known for their ability TO KICK VENOUMOUS SNAKES TO DEATH, AND THATS JUST TOO GOOD A FIT. They also have plumage that I could easily shape into Halara's kinda smooth swoopy hairstyle, and face markings that could be sort of representative of their glasses! I think the drawing for them is probably the weakest out of the group just because as I went along I improved and started to translate the human designs in less one to one ways, plus the pose Halara has in the artbook doesn't fit perfectly to the really big wing hand things. I still enjoyed making it because H A L A R A N I G H T M A R E but I'm honestly kinda sad at how lackluster it is compared to Fubuki and Viva who got the most interesting details and texture work. NEVER DO YOUR FAVORITE FIRST IT'S A TRAP.
Guinea Pig Desuhiko:
With Desuhiko I was going back and fourth between a few rodents, I just think he kinda looks like one and already had those pikachu cheeks. My first scetch made him a hamster, and while it DID look like him, it felt a little too... Indistinct. Desuhiko's probably my favorite design in the cast just because he looks so distinctive and has a short stocky bodytype I really really love and makes my character designer brain happy, so I swapped hamster for guinea pig. While the guinea pig face doesn't look like him quite as much as the hamster, they are very interesting and distinctive looking which I loved a lot more even with a bit of accuracy sacrificed if that makes sense. Also there are Guinea pigs with spikey wild fur that make it so I could just kinda give him his actual hair and still have it make sense. Guinea pigs are also the perfect size and shape to be thrown like a large softball and out of all the Master Detectives Desuhiko looks like he'd be the most sadisfying to chuck across a room.
Fish Fubuki:
Fubuki was really hard just because it's difficult to anthropomorphize a fish in the same way as a mammal or a avian cause of their structure. She might look a biitttt more like a fantasy creature inspired by a fish than just a fish but she's charming enough I don't completely mind. I got some SOLID advice and looked at some Splatoon NPCs characteristics to try and make her more appealing. So why fish? I got it as a suggestion that I ended up really liking because fish are notorious for their bad memory, live in tanks their whole lives(Fubuki is the definition of sheltered), and they have fins to mimic the shape of Fubukis cloak and hair. I used beta fish for reference, they don't really fit her but just being a fish was good enough for me and at that point I was prioritizing looks. She doesn't even really look like any specific species like the other three to be honest. She's defiantly the outlier of the group but that's fine, she can be special in her own unique way like always. Got a little lazy with making the hair look all that fin-like, but it's kinda the main event of her human design so I wanted to keep it as true to that as possible but looking at it now I think its tooooo copy and paste looking. Her furry design IS my brothers favorite out of the batch so that's gotta count for something!
Flying Fox Bat Vivia:
The vampire looking man was always gonna be a bat, I am but a slave to the whims of fate. I made him specifically a flying fox because they're the largest bat species and therefore can loom ominously. Vampire bat would have been fun too, but they have more of a squished bastard energy that doesn't really fit Vivia. Bats also are known for their weird sleeping habits, ala upside. Viva isn't sleeping upside down or anything like that but he DOES snooze in some weird places so I think comparing him to a bat in multiple aspects is very apt! His drawing and animal design is probably my favorite, I really like the wings, and the bat feet are super weird I loved doing those. I did have trouble incorperating his hair, flying foxes have pretty smooth heads, but they do have sort of a mane thing going on so I tried to put some of his hair texture and shape there instead. Sorry I did not give him is edgy edgy hair cut, I too love it very much but it was simply not to be. I did try to mimic it's vibe with the patterning on his head though, an illusion of his bangs.
I'm very happy with this lineup overall, they're some neat little designs if I do say so myself! I might do more but I have the chronic problem of not being able to sit still for a long time to do a BUNTCH of guys again(though for the record I would make Seth the most delightfully storm drain gutter looking creature). I also kinda wanna do Makoto and Yuma cause someone suggested a REALLY good idea for them, but the concept for Makoto with this idea would be more of an involved design that I wouldn't be able to use all of his normal outfit for so it'd probably take longer than average.
TLDR: Furries amiright?

@fatehascalled replied to my post with this so now i am going to do sara 🤯🤯🤯 also her haircut is kinda weird but it looks good on her so i forgive it 👍
i dont think she has many outfits 😢😢 but ill try my best
Tumblr media
here is her in game outfit!! even though the colors are kind of horrendous together (sorry sara 😢) it actually kinda looks good together too 🤔 i think its because they all kinda have the same color value/saturation level??? i dont know how to explain it or which one its called but i heard somewhere that theres like a color rule with outfits where colors should have the same level of saturation as each other, so like pastel colors go with pastel colors, faded colors go with other faded colors, etc.
OBVIOUSLY THIS RULE CAN BE BROKEN AND THE OUTFIT CAN STILL LOOK GOOD!! but i think that rule is being applied here with sara's uniform because the undershirt, tie, blazer, socks and some of the skirt are all sort of faded colors (except the other parts of the skirt are brighter) so it doesnt look too overwhelming/in your face and they actually look nice together once you get used to it
also if you just look at the outfit in general without acknowledging the colors its pretty much just a basic school uniform but it does look very nice.. this might indicate that sara has more of a preppy style?? but it is her school uniform so she does have to wear it regardless
Tumblr media
HOWEVER in the spinoff game your turn to shine she says that she thinks the uniforms are cute!! so in my opinion this confirms that she has more a preppy style with like blazers and ties because she likes her uniform.. and also based on the colors maybe she likes wearing a lot of color in her outfits (but like more faded ones)
Tumblr media
moving on i found this picture i know its in one of the official artbooks but i forgot what its called.. (also she looks soo pretty here) anyways im going to try to analyze what we see
the left one on the top is showing off saras hair which is very pretty 😊 and i think shes just wearing her school uniform?? im not sure because the skirt doesnt have the same pattern but nankidai couldve just not wanted to draw it but anyway if it isnt her school uniform it looks like shes wearing a blazer (maybe) and a skirt which matches with the preppy style that i think she has
the right one on the top is i think her kendo uniform?? so i dont wanna be disrespectful about it and i don't really think she gets to choose her uniform so i won't comment about it
the left one on the bottom is also just saras uniform i think
the right one on the bottom is a tracksuit and SHE LOOKS SO CUTE IN IT its probably really cold because her breath is like that puff smoke thing that comes out when you breathe when its cold so that would explain why shes wearing it obviously.. you can tell its not that bright of a color so i think the faded colors thing still applies but i think it might be like.. her school gym uniform thing so she might not have a choice still but i still think it looks very good on her
Tumblr media
i think this is anniversary art?? you cant see much of it 😢 but you can tell its a kimono and its a very pretty one🤯 it has the same circle/flower pattern as her school uniform skirt (sort of) so that might be something she likes to wear also the flower is really pretty
Tumblr media
this might be the same kimono im not sure 😭😭 but this is from the sketches and this kimono (whether its the same or not) is also super pretty!! i think the bow detail is super cute and i can imagine sara having some bow details on her clothes and maybe wearing them in her hair
Tumblr media
even though shes still wearing her school uniform here she also added a little coat thingy (i dont know what its called 😢) and a hat!! (im not sure what kind of hat it is but it kinda looks like a baseball cap but like better) i think maybe when it gets colder but not cold enough to switch to sonobeno's winter uniform she might layer those little coats over her uniform..
the red doesnt really match anything on her uniform but it follows the faded rule so its okay 👍same with her hat thingy its very cute.. she looks like a little detective (i think thats the point) and the little sprout (???) detail at the top is cute she might wear those kind of hats when the sun is out or something 🤔
Tumblr media
ALSO SORRY THERES BIG TEXT OVER IT BUT I DIDNT KNOW THIS EXISTED BEFORE?? I JUST FOUND IT ON THE YTTD GALLERY FOR SARA AND OHMYGOD SHE LOOKS SO CUTE THAT CARDIGAN IS SO PRETTY AND KAI LOOKS SO GOOD TOO I LOVE THEIR OUTFITS AND I WOULD 100% WEAR BOTH OF THEM
anyways 😊 the strawberry pattern on the cardigan is very cute and along with the skirt pattern thing i think she would like to wear cute patterns with like flowers and strawberries and things like that.. also maybe she would layer cardigans over her school uniform when it gets cold too (along with the small jacket thing)
also in pretty much all of her outfits (except the cardigan one) the collar of her shirts is pretty high so i don't think she'd like to wear shirts that are like low cut or shirts with off-the-shoulder neckline
so overall here is how i would style sara:
an overall preppy style with button up shirts, blazers, ties, etc.
more faded/subtle colors but maybe some clothes can have pops of bright color
shirts with high collars (like the ones that are popped up) and also maybe turtlenecks?
also cute patterns with stuff like the flowers and strawberries
pretty kimonos with pretty patterns
maybe cute bow details on her clothes or bows in her hair??
or bow sashes maybe
for when it gets cold maybe one or two tracksuits + pretty cardigans and those little jacket thingies to layer over her regular clothes
also maybe little cute caps that match her outfits

Hey 💚 Love your new shoujo manga. What were your thoughts while writing and drawing it?
Great question, and I am glad to hear it.
While I was in the middle of writing the story, I started reading some manga of that style, like One Piece, and was amazed by how much the art felt like an extension of the text – I felt almost as if I were watching the panels move along themselves, not just because of the art's expressiveness, but because the panels and their emotional/visual/verbal messages were so closely aligned.
So what I was imagining was a story whose visual style matched its story very closely, so that the art of the story was inseparable from the storytelling itself. The characters and the events would be fully animated, but also in a realistic way.
(For a comparison, see this amazing page from the visual novel Symphogear; the visual style of the whole thing is in that close to anime, in some cases.)
But I didn't know enough about how to do this in graphic novel style to know how to make it work – although I did know a guy who made visual novels and liked to explain how he did various tricks, and then we would do those tricks together, sometimes over Skype. So I was wondering what I could ask him and learn from him.
But I couldn't ask him and learn – he lives in Japan and works as a game developer, so he doesn't have the exact same skills in the manga world as I do. And in a way, the skills aren't actually the main thing – I mean, yes, you can't just copy a visual novel's art, but rather than copying the art, you must imagine what it would look like if it were like a visual novel, even if you're not an experienced artist.
But anyway, the skills are a small part of the challenge, and the bigger part is making the transition from visual novels to graphic novels. There are two things you can do to improve your chances – if you don't have them, you can get Kodansha manga editor-in-chief Hiroaki Yamamoto's Manga Comics: Create to Enjoy, or you can read more about manga cover design. For example, there is a huge difference between manga like One Piece and manga like Girls Last Notebook. Girls Last Notebook is a manga about a girl who is the only character in the entire book, but the story and the visuals tell a much more complicated story than that. I mean, at the time I started my manga I had never read much anime of this style (which may itself have been due to not being into this type of thing) so I didn't even have a sense of where the medium could go, so the visual style of my manga was the thing that I picked completely at random (because of course, I knew nothing about this).
I mean, you can learn more about the visual style of one particular artist or manga by reading a lot of their manga – but you can't do this kind of learning process just by being exposed to a few artists and their styles. Instead you must read enough manga, and read enough different manga, that you can learn the many subtle and not-so-subtle things that an author or artist might do to give their story a particular look.
That's the real skill involved in telling a story with graphic novel-style pictures. It's something you can't really teach other people. The closest thing in the anime world would be to try and become an animator and work on shows you like, or something, but that's different from the experience of, say, animating your own animation or doing manga art, where you have more of an idea what the picture should look like before you start drawing. (The anime world, in addition, has an artstyle – there is a visual style to anime – that is much more recognizable than the unique visual style I'm trying to capture for my manga).
So anyway, as for me, I've now learned more about manga cover design, reading more manga, and working more closely with my artbook guy (he sent me an early draft of what turned out to be a very successful manga). My artbook guy said he was going to teach me how to use Clip Studio Paint (which I know a lot of people use, although for me it's been very difficult to use to its fullest potential). And I've been working with some manga artists to practice things like the art of Yamikawajima Hiroshi, who seems to do very stylized, very expressionistic drawing and who I want to work with more.
In other words, I am in the manga world of now, and I am making the transition to the manga world of the future! And I am sure you can see why I want to be so careful, and make the transition so well.

<< previous chap
.・゜-: ✧ :-playlist -: ✧ :-゜・.
Jungkook's mouth opened and closed like a goldfish. Even if me saying that line didn't flatten him enough I knew the nickname did as it always have been doing. It was clearly visible that he didn't expect me to be this bold suddenly. But he being himself smirked after a couple of seconds as his hand snaked up to grab my wrist pulling me more closer "Sure princess.. Do you want to go to the trip now? " His tongue rolling over his bottom lip as his piercing doe eyes holding so many thoughts looked at my lips then to my eyes.
"I don't want to interrupt but the trip has to be postponed "Jimin interferes in the moment, his eyes narrowed and only looking at me as if scared that the younger guy would throw him out if he locked eyes with his. Making a 'tch' sound Jungkook raises his eyebrows at Jimin in a manner that reads he's asking why postpone. I yeet his hand which was holding my wrist and get off from the table clearing my throat while fixing the skirt and apron. Jungkook clearly disappointed for not being able to hear my answer gets up from the seat while putting the black leather jacket around his shoulders. Jimin and Taehyung following him gets up too grabbing their bags. Jungkook walked up to me while fixing his bangs with his index finger.
"Gotta go princess a client's waiting" Nodding I proceeded to walk away but I could hear Jungkook saying with a sad dramatic tone. "Atleast act that you don't want me to go". I'm afraid I won't be able to because I myself don't know what this client of yours gonna do if you don't go on time. Is the person waiting even a client or not? Knitting my eyebrows I look back only to meet with strangers taking up the seat. The three tall mesmerizing men with inks on their body not to be seen anywhere. I don't know what's going on in that foolish yet extremely clever brain of yours but...
Be careful Mr. Artbook..
End of YOUR POV
Mid summer yet the night breeze is able to run shivers down your spine. Not a single soul in sight.
10 at night maybe the shopkeepers closed down the shutters and went to bed. Not many shops here in this area to even begin with. The only workshop's bell which rings here is the Jeon's Tattoo corner which has been ringing from the morning today , seemed to have stopped in the evening but now making its sound again. "Argh I should really break down this bell "
With an annoyed expression the black haired guy opens the drawers searching for a fresh towel. The tall man who just entered the shop walked past the desk table, turning the door knob and allowing himself inside the cozy room. His loud footsteps on the wooden floor telling Jungkook that the guest has arrived.
"Where were you? I waited here for five minutes then went inside the nearby plant store to kill time"
Taking off the long coat the tall silver haired guy walks up to the chair positioned in the middle of the room beside the various tools. "Sorry hyung, Taehyung and Jimin wanted a new tattoo so went to hear out their designs"
Jungkook says, eyebrows knitted while he fishes out the stencil of the beautiful clematis he has drawn beforehand of the leader's arrival. Smiling to himself he walks up to the seated boss whose like a big brother to him, he puts the stencil aside. Taking out a black rubber band from his pocket he takes his hair and ties it up to a small ponytail before taking out a drawer full of tattoo needles and inks. "Heard that Yoongi started boxing classes with you"
The older male speaks as his lip corners slowly moves upwards. Jungkook giving out a laugh says, "Yea Yoongi hyung be moving like a turtle. "
The thought of his hyung boxing and whining that it's hard is enough to make the little one giggle. Taking out a small wooden stool with one hand as the other one was holding the tattoo gun, Jungkook sits himself beside the strong looking man who rolls up his shirt's sleeves revealing all the different type of arts and words of different languages tattooed on his arm.
"Need chewing gum?"
The younger one asks at the thought that it might hurt but the older one replies plainly that he's fine after all his skin had been coming in contact with this gun for a long time now. Jungkook nods before resting the needle on the free space on the top of the man's biceps before starting to draw on it, the awestrucking clematis. "Was thinking of getting a lip piercing but not being able to get it cuz of the adults in the house"
The man says while his dimples makes visits to his cheeks.
"The exact same reason why am postponing on getting an eyebrow piercing"
Jungkook replies as he carefully moves the tattoo gun sideways on the man's bicep.
"So when are you planning on telling your sister?"
He asks as the silver haired guy closes his eyes once realizing what Jungkook meant.
"When the time's right.. "
He replies, slowly opening his eyes his gaze meeting the ceiling.
"But first we need to pinpoint Mr. Choi's location"
Replying with a small and quiet yes Jungkook draws the details on the flower carefully.
"Seokjin has been checking the cctvs regularly and the only thing he found was the black hyundai stopping at a night club at exactly 7pm every Tuesday and Wednesday"
"What's the night club's name? "
Jungkook asks as he draws on the small leaves.
"Hell's night club"
With just the mention of the night club's name Jungkook's hand stops moving as his eyes widened. "Isn't that the club you often visit with the others? "
The silver haired man asks making Jungkook quietly nod his head. If the most feared mafia in the country slash his team's biggest rival had been going to the exact same club at the exact same time as his how come he never saw the familiar old man's face? He thought.
What kind of person does the man disguise him as that even Jimin who encountered him multiple times doesn't notice. "You should be careful and try to see your clients faces carefully and see if they match that old fart's face or not"
Jungkook humming a response continued on giving the clematis it's final touch. Finishing the tattoo he removes the gun making the silver haired man sit up straight and fix his shirt.
"You know what to do right?"
Jungkook asks referring to putting on Vaseline ointment on the tattoo and stuffs. The older guy nods while fetching his coat. "I'll get going then. Thanks for the tattoo kook"
Jungkook simply nods his mind stuck in a different topic. Putting the equipments away and tidying up the towels as the older guy leaves the shop and disappears into the darkness of the night in the empty alleyway, Jungkook couldn't help but think about what you were up to. His mind stitching up different negative thoughts together.
"If Mr. Choi is really going to that club then he must have seen Y/N always talking to us..... What if he does something to her? " Jungkook asks to himself and the next thing he does is take his bag, turn off the lights, lock the doors and run off to meet you.
• -
"I'll be off then"
Bowing politely you take hold of the two big disposable bags and huff out a breathe when you realize how heavy both of them were. Kicking the back staff door with your leg open the first thing you see is Jeon Jungkook leaning on the wall infront. His hair tied up in a small ponytail, a bag hung around his shoulder and inked hands resting inside his jeans pockets. His eyes falls on your hands holding the disposable garbage bags, sighing he walks up to you.
"I thought your job was to serve and take orders not bring out garbages" You looked down at the bags in your hands while saying, "I was coming out anyways it's no biggie"
You flashed him a small smile but his eyes looked worried and his face tensed. You wondered what happened but didn't dare to ask thinking that he will only answer with 'none of your business' . Yes Jeon Jungkook unknowingly says harsh things without thinking when he's tensed. Jungkook takes the garbage bags from your hands and put it beside the door when his eyes lands on your right hand which was bandaged. His eyes widen and he quickly took your right hand examining it while asking
"How did this happen? Are you okay? "
Embarrassed you put your hand away from his warm ones and answer while smiling, not making eye contact
"It's okay I'm fine these kind of injuries are meant to happen if you work in a bar." Jungkook not convinced took your hand again now keeping it infront of him not letting you pull it back. His eyebrows knitted . "You were totally fine this evening tell me what happened". Chewing on your bottom lip you look down, fiddling with the hem of your shirt.
"Y/N tell me what happened.." Jungkook says once again this time his voice laced with concern as his hands caressed your hair. You were actually a bit taken aback at how the always dominant voice of Jungkook is making its way to you in a concerned and soft way.
"A drunk guy harshly pulled my hand wanting me to sit beside him but I fought back and he suddenly let go of me making me loose my balance at hit the edge of the glass table behind and that's how I got this"
You say while looking at your bandaged hand which was now resting in jungkook's warm palm. He softly held your injured hand and lower down a bit to meet your height. Looking at your eyes he said
"Tell me who did this. Tell me who did this to you I'm gonna fucking kill him"
In a calm soft voice but the last part obviously didn't come out in a soft way. You laughed and pushed him a bit away from you. "It's okay am fine don't overreact he was drunk" But Jungkook not buying the answer walked closer to you and again with a serious tone asked you . "Tell me how he looked like"
Knowing that he won't let go of the topic unless you give him a proper answer you sigh, rolling your eyes while describing the drunk man you happened to meet inside the club. "He had small eyes , a sharp nose and dark stubble on his face and.." You trailed off thinking what else did the man have but Jungkook interrupted asking in a quick manner
"Did he have any sort of tattoo on his wrist? " Replaying the moment inside your head you widen your eyes a bit and nod your head, "Yea he did.. Was that a crown? A crown maybe"
Exactly knowing who that drunk man you encountered was Jungkook's chest sank at the thought that the old man touched you with his dirty hands. Gulping down the saliva that formed in his mouth he without thinking pulled you to his chest engulfing you in a hug. He wasn't sure why he felt like protecting you but he wanted to . He wasn't supposed to feel this way now that he set his mind on the plan his brain made up on the way here but..he did. He wanted to make sure you were safe.
Widening your eyes at how Jungkook suddenly hugged you, your mind went blank. There's no doubt in how fast your heart was beating. To be honest to yourself you were actually frightened when that man tried touching you in an ill manner but now being in Jungkook's arms you felt safe. You felt safe when he was around. Jungkook's arms around you got tighter as he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck.
So this is how you gonna play it Mr. Choi
He thinks.

Flashback 5 weeks back
Stretching your arms you give out a small yawn before grabbing the books from the table and making your way out of the auditorium. Walking while looking at your  surroundings you didn't notice the tall man standing infront of you. Too immersed in the same old paintings hanging on the walls you hit something hard making the copies and books in your hands fall down. Without looking up at the person you bumped into you quickly said 'sorry' while kneeling down to pick up your supplies. The tall gentleman kneeled down too helping you with picking up your stationerys. You got up, the man following you soon. This time facing the guy properly as both of you made eye contact you were about to say thank you when your voice abruptly decided to not come out.
The man had soft long black hair .The kind of hair you would want to play with all day. His baby doe eyes staring at you, his lips parted. The oversized hoodie he was wearing made him the grizzly huggable bear image more.
As your eyes scanned him from head to toe, your lips a bit parted, the guy not being able to control his laughter at how cute you looked when your eyes went big as if you saw something really interesting and you'd like to study that thing more, he gave out small giggles making you quickly close your mouth and look at him. Noticing how every students in tha hall were staring at both of you, you shifted your weight from one leg to another leg uncomfortably. But the guy's Adorable bunny smile didn't go out of your notice. His eyes wrinkled as he tilted his face and asked you softly
"You okay? "
Blinking couple of times you nodded your head making him shyly scratch his nape and mumble 'thank god'. Your lips automatically curved up when your eyes landed on the ID card hung around his neck
"Jeon Jungkook"
Once realization hit you that you were now standing infront of your college's hearthrob while looking like a whole mess which you didn't care about that much until you bumped into him, your cheeks got tinted in a light blush. Pulling your lips in you tilted your head a bit to the side making your baby hairs fall over your face.
"Hey kook!"
A loud deep voice entered the ears of the people standing in the hall making them turn their heads to the two seniors waving their hands at Jungkook's direction, a big wide smile plastered know their face. Jungkook takes out his bracelet covered wrist from his pocket and waves at them. Jimin running towards us and wrapping his arm around the tall guy's shoulders he notices me and flashes me a smile
"Hey Y/N"
Waving your sweater paw at him as a hey you smiled. You met Jimin and Taehyung a couple of times before in some group works with seniors. You not really interested in gossips of the college noticed just a few days ago that Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook are the well known hot trio of this college.
"Y/N.."
Jungkook repeats your name to himself before looking at you once again , smiling while saying
"Sweet name"
His sweet honey voice saying your name was enough to melt you. If it was any other guy right now you would have simply said thank you for helping you pick up the books and walk away without saying anything but surprisingly Jeon Jungkook made you stop. "I'm hungry didn't have breakfast this morning" Taehyung whines while holding his tummy earning a slap on his head from Jimin. "we are going for lunch wanna join us? "
Jungkook asks you making you widen your eyes at the sudden invitation and Jungkook earning some smirks from the seniors beside him, Jimin elbowing his arm while wiggling his eyebrows. Jungkook simply rolled his eyes at his hyungs before looking at you for a reply. You glancing at your silver wrist watch said "I would love to but I should get going. I have some stuffs to do"
Jungkook quietly nods his head before flashing you a smile.
Is he always smiling?
You thought noticing that he had been smiling since the moment both of you met. "Y/N's always studying hard"
Taehyung says earning a nod from Jimin making you shyly scratch your nape.
The Brunnete haired approached you giving you a pat on your shoulder before saying "Study well but don't forget to have lunch okay? "
You flashed him a smile while nodding. Jungkook waving his hands at you as a 'bye' walked past you with the two boys. You looked back at three of them noticing that two of them were wearing hoodies and one of them were wearing full sleeved tees.
It's so hot these days why are they wearing hoodies on top of tees?
Shaking your head you quickened your pace and quickly got out of the college grounds. Walking to the bus stand while looking around at the cozy coffee shops on the streets you keep glancing at your watch from time to time to make sure that you're going on time or not.
Now here's a secret about you that no one knows
You're a student at an art college but you are also a student at a law school. Your father runs the family business of electronics. Yes the electronics company ranking the second best in the country out of all the other electronic companies, which he wants to hand over to your big brother after he retires. Your mother always wanted a child of her to be a sculptor. Borning late in the family with the talent of art you were forced to study this subject whereas you were interested in prosecution, catching criminals and stuffs. What you were most interested in were being a mafia or an assassin but you gave up on those dreams and decided to study law. Your parents only giving their all attention and care to their first born, didn't care about you that much. The only thing they wanted from you was becoming a great sculptor and bringing praise to your family.
After nights of confusion and judgement you decided to study in the law school that you got admitted, secretly with the money your grandparents left you. Your grandparents left some money for you and your brother before passing away and thankfully they were enough to pay for your study books expenses. But maintaining time for your law school as well as the art school was hard but you managed to make time after dropping off from some extra courses of the art college without telling your parents. But it was hectic. Your college hours starts from 7 am. And you have classes till 9am then a break at 9:15 am to 10:30 due to dropping off from some extra class. Your law classes starts from 9:30 so during the break you quickly leave the grounds and head off to the law classes. Then you return to the art college at 10:20 when it's a break at your law school. Then once again when it's a lunch break at the art school you head off to the law school while munching on some snacks, obviously not getting time to have proper lunch. And when it comes to events you had to make up excuses at the law school for not attending as your parents would obviously not skip their daughter's presentations.
It would be more hectic from today cuz you just applied to a job at a night club. There's a course for learning shooting at the law school but you don't have enough money to pay for that so it's time to earn some money.
•••
Stretching your arms while getting up from the seat you had been sitting on straight for 2 hours, you give a yawn before taking out a scrunchie and putting your hair up. All the classes for the day are done. Putting the back pack around your shoulder you bow at the teacher before leaving the school premises. Walking inside the bus and sitting on one of the seat you take out your phone and start typing to your mother , 'Mom I'll be late tonight as I got some extra lessons. Don't worry for me and you don't have to send car I'll come by bus'
"No one's gonna worry about me though"
You say to yourself while letting out a small laugh and looking out at the window. Everything vanishing from your sight at a fast pace as the vehicle picks up its speed upon seeing the empty road. Some of the street lights flickering due to not being fixed for several days now. You take out the 'guideline' paper of the bar you're gonna work in from backpack, going through the structure of the building in your mind and remembering all the rules explained to you yesterday when you went to apply for the job. This night club only seemed to be safe for you to work in now. By safe means you would have no worries of the common students who spends time in bars and clubs to see you. If anyone recognizes you then it's game over. Plus the pay is high too.
The phone screen lighting up as a notification popped up you unlocked the phone before seeing from whom the text is from.
Bro: heard you're coming late at night should I pick you up from the way while coming home?
"Geez already told him?"
You say to yourself once realizing that your mom told your brother to pick up but your brother being nice asked if you want to be picked up first or not. Smiling at his text before typing your reply It's ok you don't have to come. The office is far away from my college anyways. Get home safely.
Waiting for a few minutes to see his reply which you didn't get you turned off your phone and put it inside your bag. Looking out from the window thinking why he didn't reply when he saw your text whereas usually he would try to come pick you up, being the 'protective' brother. You got down from the bus as soon as the bus came to its stop. You walked for a few more minutes from the bus stop till arriving at your destination.
Hell's night club
•••
It's been only five minutes of you serving drinks but you're already tired. How can a human body and mind work for 13 hours straight without any rest. You did mess up some tables a couple of times for which you were now getting a scolding from the manager. You looking down bowing slightly while your hands in front of you.
"Miss Lee Y/N did you properly see the table numbers today? "
The old man asks to which you nod. "Then why are you messing up? " He asks in a raised voice making you flinch and quickly mumble a sorry. You lift your head up a bit to see the old man sighing while pinching his forehead, clearly visible that he's angry. "I'm letting you go as this is your first time don't make mistakes anymore"
He says making you bow and say
"Thank you"
He looked around trying to see if any waitresses are free. Sighing at how there's no one free without counting you he gave you a look before handing you a tray of various kinds of drinks. "Take this to table no. 14. And  do not  make any mistakes. They are regulars here I don't want them gone" Nodding at him you set off to find this table no. 14 . Noticing how your skirt got up a bit you tried pulling the skirt a bit down with one hand as the other one was holding the tray, you quickly withdraw your hand without fixing the skirt upon seeing the tray tremble in one hand. Quickly holding the tray in place and scanning if any drinks were spilled, you sigh in relief. You looked back to only lock eyes with the manager . He staring straight at you with his cold eyes. You gave a small awkward smile and walked towards table 14.
The table no. 14 seemed to be surrounded by many big men. All had some sort of tattoos on them. A familiar man sitting in the middle holding a pen and scribbling something on a notebook. His inked arms full on display as the silver earrings were still being able to shine despite the dullness in the scene. His long bangs falling before his eyes not letting anyone see the face beneath it.
You quietly approached the table and when you raised your eyes from the ground to the man sitting in the middle, your legs automatic came to a halt and your breath hitched.
Jeon Jungkook right there was sitting. The table in front occupied with various weapons and him sitting like a whole five course meal, fingers playing with the dangly earrings
This is totally not what I expected

Can you write about Iris hanging out with the ghost of her father? It’s sad these two never got to know each other in canon.
Apologetic Apparition
Notes: It's very sad that the story unfolds as it does and that we know so little about Klint or Lady B (it's an utter travesty that Capcom couldn't even be bothered to give her a name or some sketches in the artbooks). Perhaps if we'd gotten to see more of Iris's parents, it would have given us an idea of what they'd have been like as a family...
Content Warnings: angst; GAA spoilers
"Well here we are!" Iris announced proudly as she took off her welding goggles and looked down at her latest creation, "They're finished at long last, now I only need to test them to make sure they work!"
"I say, Iris, you've been busy at that crafting table of yours for some time," Herlock observed as he reclined on the chaise lounge in the centre of the room and propped his legs up on the fortified, locked trunk that acted as their coffee table, "What have you been up to, dear girl?"
She twirled around in her spinning chair so she could regard her roommate, "I've made something quite marvelous this time, Hurley!" in her hands were a pair of goggles.
"Goggles?" they hardly seemed 'marvelous', but he knew better than to assume such things; after all, one cannot judge a book by its cover, for to do so is to ignore the richness that lies within, "And what is special about this particular pair?"
"They should, if I've calibrated them correctly, give me the ability to see the lingering remnants of the deceased!"
"Oh ho! So you've crafted glasses that will enable you to see ghosts, have you? Quite an interesting idea, dear girl! Whatever inspired you to do such a thing?"
Iris fell silent for a few moments, then offered a small smile, "Oh... just a little personal project. I should very much like to test them! Could you possibly do me a favour, Hurley?" she tilted her head and looked at him with pleading eyes.
"...." how could he resist the dear girl's plea? Iris was the only person he truly considered family (of course his partner occupied a place that was quasi-familial, but it was an entirely different beast). With a fond smile, he held open his arms and nodded, "Of course, what can I do for you?"
Her reply was not what he had expected...
──────≪⊰✥⊱≫───────
It was the dead of night, and they were crouched outside the imposing building where agents of the crown worked tirelessly to bring wrongdoers to justice –- or, the Prosecutor's Office by any other name. Hurley had his reservations when Iris told him where she wanted to go, but he also had a pretty good idea of where in the office she wanted to go and why.
He would not question it, this was something the dear girl needed to do.
After he had infiltrated the building and obtained a set of security guard clothes, he set about on a mock patrol of the premises; taking note of the number of other fellows currently present and making a few educated guesses with regards to their routes. It would be easy enough to smuggle the young girl inside if he did so swiftly and via the western exit.
It was as easy as he'd anticipated to bring her inside, "Right," he said softly, "Where are we heading?" despite already knowing, he would play the fool for now.
"Um... Hurley... would you mind if I went inside on my own?" she asked gently as they walked down a long corridor with numerous doors and plaques beside them. They had come to a stop outside one particularly imposing, nigh-medieval door; with a plaque that read: [Lord Barok van Zieks].
Sholmes smiled, "Of course... just knock on the door three times when you are finished, alright? I shall knock similarly if I sense danger. You must come with me without delay if I knock, alright?"
Iris nodded.
Then, she turned to the door and opened it with a key that Herlock had taken from the security guard's office. Stepping inside was a daunting prospect -- Mr. Reaper's Office was as imposing as him, perhaps more so in the dead of night with nothing but the moonlight spilling in through the large arched windows along the far wall. After taking a deep breath, she donned the goggles and activated them.
At first, nothing happened and she started to fret that maybe her calculations had been off and that she ought to have tested them somewhere more accessible before embarking on this particular visit-- then, she caught some faint glowing traces in the air.
She looked around the room and found a glowing figure stood with its back to her, looking up at the large portrait that took pride of place overlooking the office. It was difficult to tell anything about the form, save for that it was humanoid in shape.
"Why do you insist on keeping this portrait here, brother?" the figure said, in a voice that she discerned to be a male one, "Surely you ought to have had one of your own commissioned by now?"
"Um... excuse me? You there, by the portrait."
She'd never seen a ghost jump before, but this one certainly did twirl around with a start. As he turned, the form seemed to take a clearer shape and she realised he was the same as the man in the portrait – Klint van Zieks.
It was her father, just as she'd hoped.
"Goodness! You gave me quite the fright, young lady."
"Oh... I'm sorry," she looked down bashfully, only to be surprised when he laughed heartily.
"No, no, don't be! I'm simply surprised you can see me..." he cocked his head to the side, arms folded, "Might it be that curious apparatus you're wearing that enables you to see and hear me? No one else seems to..." she nodded, "Ah, I see... Pray, do forgive my presumptuousness, but, you remind me a great deal of my darling wife... I cannot think that is a mere coincidence."
It made her heart shiver to hear that, "... Um... yes, well, that would be my mother, sir, and you.. you are..."
"Then I'm... your father," Klint breathed, eyes wide, "Oh... So you are our sweet little starling..." for a moment he looked off to the side, smiling almost wistfully, "... Truly, you are a good man Genshin..." then he returned his focus to the girl, "Would you tell me your name, child?"
"Iris, sir, Iris Wilson..."
"Iris," he said, "A lovely name, very befitting of such a charming young lady. And, well, it seems you already know who I am..."
"Yes... I do," she knew full well, "I... I have so many things I want to ask you about..."
Klint nodded and walked over to the desk that had once been his and was now the place where his brother spent most of his time in stony silence, deeply engrossed in his work. He sat on it, legs dangling over the edge, "I'm sure you must have, I will try to answer to the best of my ability."
"... Thank you," she took a seat at the table that was currently home to the beginnings of a new diorama, presumably Mr. Reaper's latest case. For a few moments, she fell silent: her mind had gone blank. There were so many questions, but how to pick out just one? Where to begin?
"Perhaps I might start?" he offered, having clearly picked up on her overwhelmed state of mind. When she nodded, he started:
"As you know, my name is Klint van Zieks, I was born in North Devon. You've already met my little brother, Barok, your uncle, and much like you... he suffers a certain wistfulness when it comes to matters of family. It seems I've left you both somewhat at a loss. Do forgive me, Iris, I never intended to cause either of you the turmoil I have. I had always thought that keeping the truth from the two of you might spare you the embarrassment and stigma that knowing who I was would bring..."
She listened quietly, studying his face as he spoke. It was clear that his words were earnest, judging by their tone and the look of genuine remorse on his face.
"... I committed several heinous acts in life, and though I thought it was the right thing to do... it was misguided and naive. I sought to solve a problem by fighting fire with fire, but such an approach can only result in a destructive end. It cost me everything – including your mother, my darling wife... I was so thrilled when she told me she was pregnant, but at the same time I was terrified of what impact it might have had on her were I to tell her the truth. I did not want her or our unborn child to suffer... in the end, she died during childbirth. I cannot help but wonder if things would have been different if we'd been together in the family home with the necessary staff on hand to help her... I suppose I'll never know."
At some point as he spoke, tears had begun to bead in her eyes; then they spilled as she thought of the mother she would never know and the father who had tried to protect them – albeit with a limited degree of success.
"My apologies are meaningless, but I would like you to know how sorry I am for my failings as a man and a father, and the impact that has had on you, Iris... Your mother and I... we were delighted by the prospect of having a family, and I couldn't be more proud to see you before me as radiant as she was. You are so very like her..."
"... Thank you... I--"
Suddenly there were three sharp knocks on the door.
Iris covered her mouth, "Oh! I'm so sorry... I have to go!"
"Mmm," he nodded, "I understand, this office isn't the best place for a reunion... would you mind if I came to visit you at some point, so that you can ask me the questions you wished to?"
"... Yes, I would like that... please do come and visit me, I should like to get to know my father better -- not The Professor."
Klint blinked, then stood up from his perch and bowed, "As you wish..."

So according to the twst artbook the tweels are bioluminescent in their eel forms and i will just share that info with you in case you ever find that useful for your writing -cough- scary chasing scene ~
Just when you thought that the Tweels couldn’t possibly become even more terrifying than they already are.
Imagine yourself sailing in the middle of the sea, the cool nightly breeze grazing against your skin as you stared up in the starry sky. This was the perfect place to admire them after all. No people, no trees, no buildings, just the quiet roar of the distant waves and the peaceful ambience. You’ll be so caught up with trying to count as many stars as possible that you didn’t even notice how you left your boat on auto-pilot. Which wouldn’t be a problem on its own as there was really no obstacles it could statistically crash on to, you were free on this empty space.
That is until you heard a suspicious tap on your boat that got you looking down on where you sat. A chill ran down your spine as a tail of some sort had pass your line of sight, glowing in an unnatural teal color of bioluminsence. You gasped as you stood up, realizing the same glow coming from just beneath your boat and got your heart pounding against your ribcage. Curiosity got a better of you as you hanged your head dangerously close to the edge of the boat, trying to confirm which creature was surrounding you. All you could see was a long, huge tail or rather, tails as two pairs seemed to be swimming around, creating a trail of glow along their way, what was that? An eel? That large and is bioluminescence? You have never heard of such thing.
Looking through the water closely felt like looking through a blurry, foggy mirror. You could see a shape of its tail but what was that other part? It sent shivers down your spine to think that it actually looked human as the light was grew brighter and brighter and...huh?
...Is it coming towards you...?
Before you could say anything else, one of it finally emerges from the comforts of the cold water. Large scalely hands casually cupped your face, not giving you any time to process what you were seeing. “Found you~” Heterochromatic eyes stared deep into yours as you were left frozen in your spot, his lovesick expression had all the defensive senses of your brain firing up.
“Eh...”
However, realization striked you way too late as the creature had already wrapped his arms around your neck, forcefully pulling you down from your own boat, slightly tipping the vehicle to the side with the temporary weight. Nonetheless, freezing cold water had embraced your whole body and ironically enough, the panic was making it difficult for you to move. The creature did not let go of you, even if you tried a few attempts to struggle against his bruising hug. It watched you flail your numbing hands in response with his own glow illuminating that sick grin on his face. This is bad, you’re running out of air very fast, if this continues, you’ll definitely-
Another hand grabbed you by the chin, a hand similar to the one holding you against your will but does not exactly belong to the same creature. With the luminescence activated on its face to fight off the dark abyss that is the bottom of the sea, you finally got a good look on them. They looked similar yet so different, a pair of twins, a pair of twins who has a bioluminescent tail for legs. A mermaid? No- What are they- You were so distracted by what you were seeing that you almost forgot about how much you were suffocating. Luckily, this other eel had seem to get the hint that you were indeed drowning as we speak.
However, instead of just raising you back to the surface, you widened your eyes as this one particular creature thought it was better to just slam its lips onto yours. You could feel it blowing air for your lungs to pump up, but it was still making you feel as if you’re getting choked albeit gently.
Ah, what the hell is this...!? Nauseousness hits you like a truck as black spots flickered within your vision. You thought that this might be the end, that you were going to drown right here and then, to be eaten by these unknown creatures. Your world was turning black and during of it all, you couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the glowing beauty decorating their bodies in the dark. They were pretty and yet, they were as equally as terrifying.
You didn’t even realize how somehow, you weren’t suffocating anymore, you were able to breath freely as you fall unconsious in one of the creatures arms. You even heard the two of them chuckling in delight before completely succumbing down to stress and your world shuts down.
...This was supposed to be a peaceful trip.
Oh, this information will help...A lot. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I was meant to add this in the other question but I forgot 🙃 thank you for answering as well. But do you think if Ulquiorra was still alive that something was bound to happen between him and Orihime ? I think their reunion would’ve been really beautiful and touching. It actually kinda reminds me of Damon and Elena in a way.
Okay... You are pushing me dangerously close to watching Vampire Diaries. I mean first there are all the sexy gifs on the internet, now you're comparing Damon and Elena to ulquihime... I need more free time.
Anyway, what happens if Ulquiorra lives?
Something, that's for sure. The thing that would determine the kind of the relationship between him and Orihime would be the same thing that has one of the greatest effects on any relationship: timing.
(long, rambling explanation under the cut)
If he came back quickly, like before the final arc or even during the time before We Do Knot Always Love You, I feel like it would have strong potential to turn romantic. The earlier he returns, the better the likelihood of success of Ulquihime being a real thing. Why? Well, part of it boils down to Ichigo.
Ichigo is the kind of boy who really has no time for girls. He has no mental energy to waste a thought on them. Sure, he cares for Orihime and has a special place in his heart for her, and he probably has urges and all the natural inclinations of boys who are interested in girls, but he leaves it there. He is busy getting other things done and proving himself to... himself. His kneejerk reaction is to push any concrete thoughts of romance or attraction as far away from his attention as possible.
In an interview in the JET artbook, Kubo mentions that Orihime and Ichigo did not start officially dating until after he graduated from university. I think ichihime is a very sweet and gentle ship, and once Ichigo makes his move at the end of We Do Know Always Love You, Orihime is kind of locked in on him. So Ulquiorra has until then to make his move.
So that explains Ulquiorra's window of opportunity. Now I want to talk about Orihime, prefacing this by making it clear that I really do believe that Orihime loves Ichigo in a real and pure way. Even if nothing romantic ever came to fruition between them, she would still love him. She would just adjust her expectations to be satisfied with whatever he was willing to offer her. If that means all he was ever willing to offer her was friendship, she would take it and take the necessary steps to adjust her expectations to conform to his boundaries. That's just part of growing up.
What we haven't talked about is how Orihime would change based on different circumstances than those set forth in canon.
So imagine, Orihime is quietly biding her time, patiently waiting for Ichigo to realize what his dick is for, and otherwise building stronger friendships between herself, him, and their supercool sidekicks. She's strengthening her powers, learning a lot about herself, and gaining self-confidence. She's having fun and saving the world. Her plate is pretty full.
Despite all this fulfilling growth, Orihime still faces a deep, overwhelming struggle with loneliness. She has grown up abused and neglected. Her darkest traumas have less to do with hollows and more to do with knowing her parents never loved her. She will always have anxiety gnawing at her, which won't be blunted until she feels like she has the kind of love that lasts forever.
Now, of course, she has her hopes pinned on good ol' Kurosaki-kun for this purpose, but that doesn't mean that no one could ever take his place. Also, I don't for one minute believe that Orihime is so pure of heart and innocent of mind that she doesn't think about sex and love (which she sees as two inseparable sides of the same coin insofar as it relates to her) any less than a typical teenager. To the contrary, I think she is probably more curious about it than most of her peers, in large part because of her trauma.
However, Orihime has not gotten to where she is - top three in her class, healthy, and maintaining her own household as a teenager on a small budget - if she wasn't mature and world-wise for her age. She doesn't always come across that way, but she knows how to manage her needs and wants. She also knows how to keep a healthy distance between herself and those who might want to take advantage of her, because, let's face it, she could be a very easy target.
This is why, in Bleach canon, no one ever got between her and Ichigo. Because although she had a lot of admirers, none of them were worth her consideration. None of them had history with her. None of them understood her special powers. None of them knew her weaknesses and traumas. Only her small circle of supernatural besties knew her well enough and had enough of her trust to consider a relationship with, and of those three boys, Orihime was only attracted to Ichigo. Besides, Ishida and Chad would never think to get in between Orihime and Ichigo.
But Ulquiorra would.
If he returned, he would need her. He would provide her with the attention she craves and the fascination that gives her the confidence she would need to turn her attention away from Ichigo. She would not be able to deny that she and Ulquiorra share a strength of connection on par with that of her and her nakama.
She would hesitate for a only a moment before deciding to do whatever she could to assist Ulquiorra in adjusting to his new life. It would be a very significant reunion, initially, but then reality would creep in.
Ulquiorra requires work to find a place in his new reality. Orihime is not afraid of hard work, but undertaking Ulquiorra's rehabilitation would not be all sunshine and roses. He doesn't just follow her advice like some kind of lost puppy, either. He can be stubborn and confrontational. She would be forced to examine and explain things she takes for granted.
This process would make her question much of her previous beliefs, just as he questioned his beliefs about the heart when they were together in Hueco Mundo. He would make her feel like she had value in her ability to teach him things about the world.
Although he would not bicker or put her down for sport, he would frustrate and challenge her. He would make her assert herself. It would reignite the chemistry between them that she was too terrified in Hueco Mundo to recognize.
Orihime would focus on Ulquiorra so much that she would not notice her attention drifting away from Ichigo until it was too late. By that time, she would realize that Ichigo is not the be-all-end-all romantic target she had previously thought.
When she eventually realizes she is attracted to Ulquiorra, it would not be a spark, it would be spontaneous combustion. They wouldn't spend a lot of time being cute and flirting and wooing one another. She would realize that she wants him, and it would happen pretty fast. I feel like either she would make a first tentative move and he would reciprocate, or it would just be like a mutual realization and he would make a move and she would just melt into it and match his energy.
I think both Orihime and Ulquiorra don't really have a clear idea of love and sex as separate concepts. She would conflate the two as one thing, and he really doesn't conceptualize either of them, rather just experiences them and then later accepts them as a singular expression. Their relationship would be very, very physical. Over time they would both start to appreciate the more delicate and complex flavors of both love and sex, and would begin to enjoy just being affectionate and quiet companionship and all the other lovely parts of being in a relationship.
I think that if they were able to reproduce, they would find themselves relatively young parents, because they can't keep their hands to themselves and would let passion carry them away in the heat of the moment. Ulquiorra would be obnoxiously proud to have successfully made a new life with "the woman".
I could go on and on and on about these two. I'll stop here for now, but feel free to ask anything else!

“The Cipher Frontier!” Issue 58: “Cipher Will Never Die!”
Tumblr media
"The Cipher Frontier! With Emma, Shade, Yuzu, Randal, Alice, Val, Niamh & Poe" was a regular column on the Fire Emblem Cipher website which summarized upcoming news concerning Cipher and other Fire Emblem materials. It was presented by the eight mascot characters. The following is a full translation of the 58th and final issue of the column, which was originally published on 31 March 2021.
More Fire Emblem Cipher translations!
Tumblr media
Hello, everybody!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
It's been over five years since Cipher launched - and, for that matter, The Cipher Frontier! itself...
Tumblr media
And today... we bring you the last one!
Tumblr media
Sniff... So this is really it...
Tumblr media
Aye, it certainly is a bitter occasion.
Tumblr media
With the moment upon us, I find myself overcome with emotion. Yet at the same time, I cannot help but sorely wish that this day had never come at all.
Tumblr media
Well, it... It doesn't bother m-m-me... Not... one...
Tumblr media
BWAAAAAAAAAAAH! I C-C-CAN'T TAKE THIS!
Tumblr media
E-easy, milady! You swore before we began that you would not cry!
Tumblr media
I, too, owe very, very much to all of you, so... I am very sad.
Tumblr media
Where there is a beginning, so too shall there be an end... It is an inevitability.
Tumblr media
Still, one might argue that as long as there are still decks to play with and opponents to challenge... Cipher may be played for eternity. So think not on this as the end, for this is but a milestone of life.
Tumblr media
Sniff... So this isn't farewell?
Tumblr media
Not in the least! All of our players can still continue to get together to play Cipher. So as sad as you might be now to see the game end, the feeling won't last! And I, for one, would like to close out our final day with a smile.
Tumblr media
To that end, I propose that we all share some parting words. You first, Emma!
Tumblr media
Alrighty! Well, I've been here since the beginning, but... Back then, I was an absolute noob, wasn't I? I didn't have the faintest idea what a "Tea See Gee" even was!
Tumblr media
But then I learned so much from Shade, and I presented news, participated in Tryout and Gathering events, and watched Live Broadcasts - and all of that gave me the chance to grow so much.
Tumblr media
And then as the days went by, we got to meet Yuzu and Randal, Alice and Valjean, and Niamh and Poe, and we all always had a riot of a time playing Cipher together... It's all been like something out of a dream!
Tumblr media
Lastly, I just want to say thank you...
Tumblr media
To all of you who've been reading our column to date, thank you tho thuch!
Tumblr media
Ha! Is that a slip of the tongue I hear?
Tumblr media
Why, I do believe it was... And of all the words to flub, at that.
Tumblr media
H-heh heh heh! I guess I am still just a kid after all... But mark my words, I'll be working even harder to become a mature, full-fledged knight! Okay, let's try this again... Thank you all!
Tumblr media
Well, I'm next! I was primarily tasked with hosting this column and presenting news.
Tumblr media
But the work introduced me to more and more friends, and to a constant stream of announcements that were news to me myself... To lose it is like I've also lost my reason to exist, but at least I am left with fond memories of it all.
Tumblr media
My desire to convey the appeal of Cipher to others hasn't wavered in the slightest, but... this is the last time it will ever happen here. Alas. Still, I will always be rooting for all of you, even if we don't see each other.
Tumblr media
There will always be a bond between us - always. Remember that whenever you play Cipher and see our cards. On this, you have my word! This has been Shade, shepherd of wayward lambs, saying farewell!
Tumblr media
Alright, then. You're next, Yuzu!
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Huh? Yuzu! What's gotten into you? Would you just get out here?
Tumblr media
Er, forgive me. When everybody's gaze turned upon me, I could not help but immediately seek shelter...
Tumblr media
Oh, yeah. You never did like public speaking, did you, Yuzu?
Tumblr media
Of course! We had a devil of a time convincing you to come out at all for your very first column.
Tumblr media
E-enough! That was many years ago: a d-d-difficulty that I have long since moved past!
Tumblr media
Hrr-hrr-hrr... heh-HEM! L-l-let us, er, begin anew.
Tumblr media
I am Yuzu. My contribution to this column was to introduce cards that afforded new styles of play... only to let a haze of utter passion promptly consume me and hence spend my every waking hour crafting decks from them and trialling them in matches.
Tumblr media
You always were one to cry, "I must test these cards at once!" and throw yourself into obsessive research.
Tumblr media
As such, I have acquired an eye for strategy, forged in the fires of Cipher, to incorporate into my prior mastery of the martial arts - and with that, at long last, I have come to an understanding of the very heart of warcraft.
Tumblr media
Further, as a consequence I may declare with confidence that, should I ever find my brother, I shall be able to hold my head high for all that I have grown in his absence. For that, you have my most heartfelt gratitude. So end my parting words!
Tumblr media
Thank you, Yuzu. Right, it's your turn, Randal!
Tumblr media
Huh? Oh, right then!
Tumblr media
I've got a motto: always take your games deathly serious, and always make your own fun on the job… And, well, this has been my chance to prove those words true.
Tumblr media
I mean yeah, I'm a wanderer at heart; I might've stuck around a bit too long... but that's just because this was all a hell of a lot of fun.
Tumblr media
Oh, I agree... It was a HELL of a lot of fun!
Tumblr media
GAH! It's... It's you!
Tumblr media
Well, well. We have a stranger among us!
Tumblr media
Pah! "Stranger," indeed. This hair, this face, this ribbon... None of this ring a bell?
Tumblr media
Eh? Do you... do you mean Randal?
Tumblr media
Indeed! I am...
Tumblr media
...His son, no? It is nice to meet you!
Tumblr media
OI!
Tumblr media
What are you on about?! I AM Randal, just from the past - younger than the one you know!
Tumblr media
It's happening again! The exact same argument!
Tumblr media
This really must be the end, if HE'S here...
Tumblr media
This is how you treat me? I have to hear that the last column is happening at the eleventh hour and make a mad dash to make it in time?! Bloody hell...
Tumblr media
What is this? A being under the thrall of the Boundless Chaos? How intriguing. I must conduct a thorough examination at once...
Tumblr media
H-hey! What are you doing, Niamh?! You look deathly serious... Oi, that's enough! Stay back! I... I've got a sword!
Tumblr media
Well, er, I'm just about all out of time, but I just want to say it was a hoot being on the Frontier. Hope I see you all again someday. Adios!
Tumblr media
He vanished?! Still more intriguing...
Tumblr media
Sigh... What a pain in the arse, if I do say so myself. Although... I must admit, we do agree on one thing: I'd also be glad to see you all again.
Tumblr media
This might be one farewell, but here's hoping we cross paths once more! And if we do, hey, why not play a match with this old fart? And that's all she wrote from ol' Randal!
Tumblr media
Thank you. Next, let's hear from Alice and Valjean!
Tumblr media
Heh heh! At last! Shall we, Val?
Tumblr media
Yes, milady.
Tumblr media
The two of us made our debut circa Series 10, and ever since that day, the Frontier never failed to be a most thrilling time. Would you agree, Val?
Tumblr media
Yes, milady.
Tumblr media
My objective in making this journey was simple: to experience much in my travels, such that I might someday return home and become a great ruler indeed. But instead, I first became a most superior, most brilliant Cipher player! Utterly invincible! Favored by fortune! And whatnot. Didn't I, Val?
Tumblr media
Yes, milady.
Tumblr media
I remember... that every time a Cipher release day came, I would be up all night from their eve, crafting decks and playing matches with the others. Oh, it was such fun! Wasn't it, Val?
Tumblr media
...Yes, mi... mi... milady! Sniff...
Tumblr media
V-Val?! What is the matter with you?
Tumblr media
I am most moved. That my most capricious liegelady could at last find in Cipher such an engaging hobby, such good company, and such a source of training - and that she could grow so greatly as a woman.
Tumblr media
Val...
Tumblr media
We have been truly blessed to have had all of this: all of you, who welcomed us so warmly into the Frontier fold, and all of the Cipher players out in the world. I wish to offer you my gratitude for everything.
Tumblr media
To be honest... I have something to say on that matter myself. Thank you, truly, for everything. I will never, ever, ever, EVER forget even a single day that we spent here together!
Tumblr media
Nor shall I!
Tumblr media
...Having said that, milady, I fear that you are still yet unready for the throne! From today onward, we must redouble your original leadership training efforts! I fully intend to prepare for you an intensive study regimen.
Tumblr media
I-I-I beg your pardon?! You will not speak to me so! If I see even a single incorrect mark, you would do well to prepare yourself, for I will work you to the very bone for the rest of your days!
Tumblr media
By all means, do it. But be prepared, for I have a lifetime's worth of admonishments at the ready.
Tumblr media
Heh... Best of luck to the two of you!
Tumblr media
Your turn, Niamh!
Tumblr media
I was present from the 37th column onward... To be precise, it was in the "Love and Bonds Special Talk CD" audio drama that came as a set with an artbook, sold at Comiket 93.
Tumblr media
My inquiry and research into the miscellaneous phenomena of this world, and the Boundless Chaos in particular, shall continue, but...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Well?! Don't tell me that's all you have to say!
Tumblr media
...No. To me, my inquiry into Cipher represented the introducton of a new, major challenge into my life. Cipher decks... Gameplay... Which solution is correct, and which is optimal... As yet, I still have found no answers. As such, it is vital that going forward, I collaborate with a broad sample of Cipher players and find an answer...
Tumblr media
So what you're saying is, you enjoyed playing Cipher with everyone, and you're gonna keep playing forever!
Tumblr media
That, er... Ahem! That's pretty much it.
Tumblr media
Cryptic remarks if I ever heard them, but certainly Niamh-ish.
Tumblr media
Right, let's keep this going with Poe!
Tumblr media
Only a year and a half has passed since I was welcomed to this column, and sadly, in the end our association has been brief. But I was able to have a very fulfilling time with you.
Tumblr media
Attending that Winter Comiket thing with all of you, playing the "Recite and Play: Heroes Iroha" card game being sold there... They were very happy days.
Tumblr media
And in all of that, I have always been monitoring Niamh...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Hee hee... You have been a good girl here, have you not? I do nothing to good girls.
Tumblr media
If one of you becomes wicked, at that time I shall... Heh... Heh heh heh heh heh...
Tumblr media
So, I pray that we never have an unpleasant reunion, and end my speech. Thank you. This has been Poe!
Tumblr media
Heh... Let's keep that warning in mind.
Tumblr media
...With that, have all of us spoken?
Tumblr media
Tsk tsk... We aren't actually finished just yet! Since this is our last column, allow me to call upon a special guest!
Tumblr media
...A guest? Wait, you don't mean...
Tumblr media
Ta-daaaaa! Here he is!
Tumblr media
Hello, everyone! I am Kawade, the producer of Fire Emblem Cipher.
Tumblr media
K-K-KawadeP!
Tumblr media
My, what a surprise!
Tumblr media
The publication of the final Frontier coincides with, at last, the end-of-March termination of event support for Cipher. So I thought I would share a message for all of our readers and Cipher players.
Tumblr media
If you count from when Cipher was first announced, roughly six years have passed. That's a long time, yet it's just flown by... These have been very busy years, but also wonderful ones, absolutely full of memories and events.
Tumblr media
In that time we've constantly taken on new challenges - not just the production of Cipher itself, but Twitter content, live broadcasts, and staging events all around Japan.
Tumblr media
And through all of that, we've had the chance to meet so many fans of Fire Emblem and Cipher... That was not only the most fun part of all, but a part that made us happy.
Tumblr media
Although, we were unfortunately unable to hold any of our planned events for our final year, and for that I am truly sorry to all of you.
Tumblr media
Still, we staff stuck with it to the very end, and as a result were able to complete Cipher as a fantastic game that can be played for years and years to come. For that, we are proud of ourselves.
Tumblr media
It was thanks to all of you, who kept on supporting us, that we could continue our work to this standard all the way to the final series. I am overcome with gratitude to you all!
Tumblr media
Production might have come to an end, but Fire Emblem Cipher will never die! It would make me happy if, every now and then, you might bring your cards out and play with them. Thank you all, truly, for everything!
Tumblr media
And that concludes KawadeP's remarks!
Tumblr media
Whew!
Tumblr media
That, I believe, is everything that we wished to share.
Tumblr media
Aye, I've got nothing to add.
Tumblr media
So I suppose this is it: the end of the Cipher Frontier's long run.
Tumblr media
Er... Shade? Can I say one last thing?
Tumblr media
Hm? What is it, Emma?
Tumblr media
Thank you for taking the lead in hosting this last one... And thank you so much for all the things you've taught me!
Tumblr media
(Emma...)
Tumblr media
H-hey! That's enough of that! You're about to make me cry, and that wouldn't be ending this day with a smile, would it?
Tumblr media
Heh. I guess not!
Tumblr media
So hey, let's give them one last, enthusiastic That Thing before Shade bursts into tears!
Tumblr media
Very well, then. That Thing it is! This has been The Cipher Frontier!
Tumblr media
With Emma...
Tumblr media
Shade...
Tumblr media
Yuzu...
Tumblr media
Randal...
Tumblr media
Alice...
Tumblr media
Val...
Tumblr media
Niamh...
Tumblr media
...and Poe.
Tumblr media
Now, then...
Tumblr media
Let's do it, everyone!
Tumblr media
One...
Tumblr media
Two...
Tumblr media
CIPHER!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!

FIRE EMBLEM CIPHER The Cipher Frontier! With Emma, Shade, Yuzu, Randal, Alice, Val, Niamh & Poe
Tumblr media
Emma Emma continues to train in order to become a full-fledged pegasus knight. Her tireless Cipher training also continues, but she has yet to show much improvement at the game.
Tumblr media
Shade Veteran mage that she is, Shade continues to teach the next generation. Many seeking to become almighty Cipher players have come to her, only to struggle bitterly under her tutelage - yet at the same time, to Emma and the others, she remains a nurturing guiding hand.
Tumblr media
Yuzu Yuzu embarked on a journey of martial training, all the while following whispers of her brother's whereabouts... although evidently, she does return from her travels from time to time, bearing souvenirs, to partake in Cipher matches with all of her friends.
Tumblr media
Randal Randal made a truly once-in-a-lifetime wager, only to go into hiding thereafter. Some rumors attest that he won, and that with that windfall he secured for himself a carefree life of quiet leisure in some southern land - others, that he met with a catastrophic loss, and was hence forced into labor in someplace.
Tumblr media
Alice Alice's travels continue, as she seeks all the experience that she needs to become a true leader. Although at first she struggled, she grew to thoroughly enjoy it, and so she will persist in her journey without ever taking a break to return home... Or so she tells herself, at least.
Tumblr media
Valjean Valjean continues to travel all across the land with his liegelady. Witnessing Alice grow ever stronger and wiser by the day, he cannot help but feel conflicting feelings of joy and loneliness beneath the privacy of his helm.
Tumblr media
Niamh Even as she continues in her pursuit of wisdom, Niamh silently carries out research into Cipher. Her seminal monograph, "A Compendium of Cipher Decks," is over 100 volumes in length, and by all accounts is still in print to this day.
Tumblr media
Poe Poe vanished in her hunt for evil, and her whereabouts remain unknown. However, according to the afterword of "A Compendium of Cipher Decks," she and Niamh have since fought to the death on many an occasion.
The End...???

OnS Chapter 106
Tumblr media
Well... this chapter is making me ask questions lol. At last though, we’re back to seeing what Mika is doing but is also continuing from where the previous chapter left off. So many things happening at once.
Tumblr media
The 2nd Progenitor Rigr Stafford vs. 3rd Progenitor Lest Karr and 5th Progenitor Ky Luc. Lest is having trouble and is worried due to facing a 2nd progenitor while his companion Ky is enjoying himself and feels confident he could win against a their enemy. Rigr realizes in the middle of battle that Ky is probably Urd's right hand man since Ky's ability surpasses that of a regular 5th progenitor.
Tumblr media
Rigr aims at Ky's eye. Ky realizes he can't dodge it anyways so he just went straight ahead to land an attack himself. Now the two of them are too connected to each other which worried Lest since he's about to use a lightning attack. Ky just tells him to go for it.
Tumblr media
Ky gives his sword as much blood as he could give to make sure Rigr couldn't get away when Lest uses Heaven's Fan. When the attack is done, Ky sustained a lot of injuries.
Tumblr media
It seems the attack had worked and had injured the 2nd progenitor as well. I felt pretty suspicious at this moment cause there’s no way these two could easily beat a 2nd progenitor. Plus Rigr wasn’t really that worried despite saying so cause he doesn’t always mean what he tells them. I thought there must be a trick.
Tumblr media
2nd Progenitor Urd Geales finally makes an appearance! Lest tells him of what had transpired and Urd isn't amused and tells him that it's impossible for a vampire to escape the cell (he made it so himself). He then tells Rigr to stop messing with his subordinates.
Tumblr media
With a clap of the hands, Rigr is back in the cell. Rigr reveals that the entire fight was nothing but an illusion that he learned from humans. lol I knew there was a trick but I didn’t think it was all an illusion. I thought he’d easily regenerate or something.
You know what, Rigr’s teasing nature and laid-back attitude in the middle of battle reminds me of Ferid. They might not be blood-related but he is the one who turned Ferid into a vampire so it’s close.
Tumblr media
The two former friends have a little reunion. Ky apologizes for the trouble but Urd tells him it wasn't his fault as Rigr is of a higher rank and can't be helped.
Tumblr media
It seems he still cares...
Rigr asks Urd what the latter has in store for him and Urd says that if Rigr doesn't answer his questions, he might just kill him. Urd asks what Rigr’s plan is and Rigr tells him that his revenge plan against the 1st Progenitor hasn't changed yet after all these years so there’s nothing to say.
Tumblr media
Urd says that in betraying the 1st, Rigr had also betrayed him and Rigr offered to be killed. He mentions he hasn't forgotten about Urd and has thought about him everyday when they were separated.
I’m sorry... these lines are getting to me. They must’ve been really close friends for them to be this way with each other. They kinda remind me of Mika and Yuu in a way except these two sort of became rivals or something.
Tumblr media
Urd then asked Rigr about this revenge plan and how it's going.
I’m guessing the original question is asking about what the plan is specifically but it’s changed to asking if it’s going well. I wonder if Urd had realized what it might be before asking?
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Mika is still inside Yuu's heart. In front of him is a strange eye and he's trying to figure out what this one is exactly.
Tumblr media
Mika touches the eye to peek into what's in it. He's then transported to this strange place and in each of the containers inside is an eyeball each. Mika finds himself possessing one of these eyeballs.
I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who recognized this from the Ancient Greece flashbacks several chapters ago.
Tumblr media
It’s tiny Yuu-chan! It confirmed that this is Mikaela's room from back in Greece thousands of years ago from the flashbacks. Yuu visits here many times to try and wake up the "sleeping" Mika inside the glass. This is probably a later scenario from Ashera’s flashbacks cause this Yuu isn’t borderline emotionless and acts like an excitable child unlike the Yuu that Ashera first met.
Tumblr media
Noya tells him it's pointless as Mika is dead but Yuu tells him that Mika will certainly wake up. It's Yuu's job to wake him after all. Noya comments that Yuu's exact duty is to be the sacrifice to awaken Mika. Yuu didn't hear this and continues to call Mika which annoyed Noya enough and in the end, Yuu was killed.
Okay, so I don’t remember if Yuu had been calling Sika Madu “Father” from before or if this is some new development because I think he just called him “Master” back then? Also, I guess this means Yuu and Mika are connected more deeply than we thought. I wonder how Yuu would be sacrificed.
Tumblr media
Noya then uses one of the eyeballs and turned it into another Yuu. The new Yuu could talk but knows nothing. He kept asking so many questions that Noya got annoyed again and killed this one, too. Ashera tells him that it's not right and Noya just says that he just has to get used to it. Plus no one would notice how many had been killed if they made another Yuu.
We’re finally shown how they make Yuu-chan clones. I wonder what changed or how this is done as the new Yuu clone acts like the previous one: loud and excited. He’s totally not like the Yuu that Ashera met who is quiet and sort of emotionless. I thought they would start out like that quiet Yuu first and then learn to be normal but it seems the clones are more like the new version of Yuu.
Tumblr media
The next Yuu Noya had created is the one Mika is currently possessing. Of course, this “Yuu” wouldn’t act the same as the others since Mika is possessing it. Noya didn’t question this or at least, he seems to not and just leaves this Yuu be.
So either he’s just faking and realized that there’s something really different (as that look is suggesting) or the personality of the Yuu-chan clones differ from one another that this is a possibility. Also, since Yuu-chan is a clone, who was he cloned from? Was there an original Yuu-chan? What was he then? So many questions...
Tumblr media
The 1st Progenitor and the others have arrived. Raimei scolds the kids for entering the room without permission but Byakko just tells her to go easy on them as they're just kids.
The group (minus the 1st Progenitor) looks like their demon selves: from the outfits to the horns). Does this mean they’ve been turned to demons at this point? Also, Byakko’s personality doesn’t look as serious as he seems as he currently is as Byakkomaru. By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever heard their original names being used so not sure if these are right. I got them from the wiki when I was looking at the correct name spellings for the other characters.
Tumblr media
Back to the present, Rigr offers Urd the choice to join him in revenge. Rigr tells them that his preparations are ready and apologizes for taking too long with it. He asks Urd if the latter has any hostages and it's revealed that the people Urd was carrying earlier are Shinya and Kureto and so Rigr asked about their demons (which are their former vampire companions).
This is making me wonder what Urd’s plan is. At first of course I thought he’s asking Rigr about this revenge thing cause he wants to know if he could stop it or change Rigr’s mind. But now I’m confused cause the way he’s asking seems like he’s... interested? And Rigr asked about hostages which Urd already has and coincidentally (or not...?) they are Shinya and Kureto who are the contractors of Byakkomaru and Raimeiki. Rigr even asked about the demons.
Like if Urd turned out to switch sides and becomes Rigr’s ally, I don’t think I’d be surprised. The current arc is just everybody switching sides and backstabbing everyone else or having ulterior motives in the stuff they do. How many opposing groups do we even have now lol.
Tumblr media
Switching back to the past, Mika continues to observe the others through the clone Yuu. Sika Madu seem to have realized what he really is though and addresses him directly.
I’m betting this is the real Sika Madu cause he’s already left Shinoa. Plus if his other demon companions could go to another demon’s world, there’s no doubt he could do it, too since he’s the most powerful of them all.
Tumblr media
Sika Madu tries to put Mika to sleep. A struggling Mika hears Yuu's voice telling him that in order to escape they must work together. If they devour one another, Mika would become Yuu's demon. As Sika Madu continues to use his powers on Mika, Mika finally accepts and lets himself become Yuu's demon.
--
Finally! I guess if this goes well (which there’s a high chance this would go well unless the author decides to prolong the drama), Mika would finally become a demon weapon. it’s also another sword if I remember correctly. I wonder if Yuu will use it now that Asuramaru can’t be trusted? Speaking of which, I suddenly remembered the cover art for one of Owari no Seraph’s artbooks wherein Yuu is shown with his sword and the reflection in it is Mika. Foreshadowing or coincidence? Probably coincidence since it’s the reverse in another artbook. Still it’s cool.
The Vampire side of the story is slowly connecting to the protagonists’ side of the story. It looks like whatever it is that Rigr is planning, it’ll involve the demons residing in a majority of the main casts’ weapons. They’d cross paths sooner or later.
Shinya and Kureto got caught but where are the others? Where are the rest of Guren’s squad? I wonder who the demons are that’s inside of the weapons of the others...
I’m still sad they chose not to use the nickname Mika had for Yuu. “Yuu-chan” is distinctly Mika’s nickname for him (it’s even Mika’s favorite phrase according to one of the fanbooks haha). Plus since they never use any honorifics for the way everyone else calls Yuu (Yoichi’s “Yuu-kun” and Shinoa’s “Yuu-san” are just “Yuu/Yu” now), there’s no difference. Mika calling Yuu by a specific nickname even became a plot point when one of the human soldiers trusted Mika because of how he calls Yuu. Like, I get why they’re not using honorifics in the official translation but it’s still a shame. Now everytime I see Mika call Yuu or refer to Yuu, my mind fills in the missing honorific. It will always be “Yuu-chan” to me.
Anyways, the last page of this chapter never said when the next one would come out. I wonder why? I’m hoping it’s not a hiatus but it can’t be helped if it is. I’m kinda excited for what’s to come next. I wonder what happened to everyone else? Are we ever gonna get POVs from them or are they also just left to the side since they’re not part of the main conflict? I mean they seemed to have completely dropped Narumi since I haven’t seen him in a while.
Thanks for reading this if you did!

I know I only drew Theasauri/Shapechanger a few months ago (September 2020) but, recently, I realized how unhappy I was with the design. It's obvious I had no fucking clue what I was doing. I hate that design nowadays, I might even put it in my scraps TBH it's that bad. Her backstory/Links to my other sites is under the cut, tw for, uh, organ theft and meantioned past cannibalism?
I kept the og arm decals, since I like those, but redid the chest ones and didn't put as much focus on the legs. I also partially based her of TFP Arcee. Mostly. Shes 75% OG Design, 15% TFP Arcee, and then 10% TFP Starscream and Knockout. Thank god I managed to find the TFP Artbook at a good price, thing is priceless when it comes to me and my art! Another Transformers artwork. NO I will not be getting out of this fucking hellhole anytime soon! I'm in the fandom to stay so yall better buckle down and prepare for this shits! OH and this is available on my Rebubble which is linked below. ALSO meant to post this in 2020 but fuck it I forgot posting my artwork was a thing and did this mostly for a TF RP im on so its here now in 2021 instead.
Remember to reblog, as likes do JACK SHIT for me and my art & reblogs and comments show us artists that y’all like our art enough to share it with others!
Shapechanger AKA Thesauri was a silversmith (hence the name Theasauri, which means "Silverware" and is also a play on her mostly-silver-gray appearance, so she's "Wearing Silver") who turned into an Electric Motorcycle. However, after her t-cog was painfully stolen from her, she started to go a bit crazy. Finding herself in a deep depression, she wandered the wilder parts of Cybertron, hoping something will kill her. In the end, she only started starving, and in her confusion she took a mech that was lost in the wilds to be one of the people who stole her t cog. She killed them, took their t-cog, and may or may not have committed cannibalism???? IDK?? Anyway she now hunts for her og t-cog, stealing those of others, and has even modified herself thru surgery (which she preformed herself) to be able to quickly and efficiently switch out t-cogs. She carries around MANY knives, and also any extra kibble that she's not wearing on her persons. She ended up using the name Shapechanger, referencing how she had many alt-modes due to, well, the stolen t-cogs.

[QZGS TL] Butterfly Blue Interview from the “All Knows” Yan Ling Artbook
This interview was included in the Yan Ling artbook from (I believe) 2016. Thank you to dtriad for the images!
As usual, normal disclaimers apply, translator notes in brackets, and please let me know if you notice any mistakes.
Past BB Q&A translations are available on my blog: /tagged/bb-interview
Finally, happy belated birthday to Butterfly Blue!
***
Q1: What was the initial turning point [motivation; opportunity] for the creation of The King’s Avatar?
A: Mostly, it all came from technique. Weak narrative has always been a common shortcoming of novels about online gaming, and so when TKA combined online gaming and competitive esports, there was a clear narrative to be told.
Q2: Are the characters in TKA based on anyone? For example, is God Ye based on yourself?
A: I don’t think they’re really based on anyone. I’ve just drawn inspiration from many real phenomena in the esports circle, but I haven’t targeted any specific one person.
Q3: Can you reveal a bit of God Ye’s family situation?
A: I really haven’t thought that much about this, and I don’t plan to.
Q4: Does Zhou Zekai have high value in the entertainment industry? Or is he just exceptional in gaming, that’s all?
A: He’s exceptional all-around.
Q5: It seems that Sun Xiang and Zhou Zekai have two very different personalities, so how were they able to work together so well as to become Best Partners?
A: To work together on the battlefield, first and foremost you need skill and awareness. As two exceptional, top-level players, they wouldn’t be lacking in this professionalism. As long as they’re willing to coordinate, personality would not become an obstacle on the battlefield. Learning how to work together is the process of understanding each other’s skills and habits, and high-level players will naturally be able to complete this kind of mutual recognition very quickly.
Q6: When training, does Team Happy usually order takeout? Does the boss invite someone to cook for them?
A: This isn’t the important point of this novel, is it!
Q7: Almost all of Samsara is of the same generation. Will the eventual transition be painful?
A:  Pro players are constantly moving through transfers. Right now it looks like they’re basically all of the same generation, but after year after year of movement, this might not be the case later. The ideal generation transition would occur gradually through this kind of movement. For example, Samsara currently has the younger Sun Xiang, and in the future they will continue to recruit exceptional young players.
Q8: What would Ye Xiu and Su Mucheng do after retirement?
A: They’ll simply continue to live their lives in whatever way suits their position.
Q9: When Zhou Zekai truly wants to speak, how many words could he say?
A: Speaking is only one method of communication. And Zhou Zekai doesn’t like, nor is he good at, this method. Perhaps under some circumstances he would be forced to use this method to express himself, but there isn’t really such a thing as “a time where he truly wants to speak.”
Q10: Which pro players have a bit of a belly?
A: Everyone gets some belly when they’re old.
Q11: Does Wang Jiexi’s Magician style have a weakness / counter?
A: A mature playstyle will have changes and adjustments in varying conditions; it won’t be restricted to one pattern. If, under these kinds of conditions, a so-called “counter” still exists, then that simply means that the playstyle is not yet mature enough, or that there’s a huge drawback. For Wang Jiexi to become famous in this way, his playstyle certainly would not be this kind of unskilled immature style. But ultimately, what determines the strength of the playstyle is the player. Thus, there is only one Magician, Wang Jiexi.
Q12: How many housing properties does Big Eye have in Beijing? And why is so he keen on undermining foundations? [T/N: referring to his “digging for players”, e.g. TR, QF]
A: Why are you bringing up housing properties? Because he was chatting about housing prices? They were just talking about a trending topic, it has nothing to do with properties, okay! As for saying that he’s keen on undermining foundations I don’t know where you’re getting this from… even if there is, as the captain of a team, inviting outstanding players to join his team is just his professional responsibility. It’s not his passion, it’s his job.
Q13: Just how well-off is Tang Rou’s family? Will Du Ming be able to catch her?
A: Well-off enough that she’s set for life without worry. Wealth will never be a bargaining chip to sway her. I think it would be very very hard for Du Ming to pursue her.
Q14: Have you seen the TKA donghua? What are your thoughts? [T/N: this would be referring to the not-yet-released Season 1]
A: Like everyone, I saw the few promotional trailers that were released. I think the artstyle is excellent. So long as there are also no issues with the plot, I can thoroughly anticipate it.
Q15: Can you reveal any news about the TKA movie or TV series? Do you have any dream choices for Ye Xiu’s actor? Or actors for any of the other characters?
A: It’s all still in the preparation stages. For now I can’t discuss actors or whatnot.
Q16: Having created such an iconic IP as TKA, what do you think is the most important thing when creating a work?
A: Probably perseverance in reading and writing.
Q17: You’ve created many novels about gaming, so are you yourself a gaming expert?
A: TKA is actually the only novel I’ve written about competitive esports, the other games were just ordinary online gaming. My own skill is average.
Q18: Could you talk about something that’s left a deep impression on you recently?
A: Recently I’ve been at my old home, the weather’s been cool, I’ve been visiting old friends and family. My deepest impression is: a hangover ruins three days.
Q19: When it comes to creating works, what are your plans for the future?
A: I still have a lot to write for my current serializations, so the future is still far-off for now. As for hopes for the future, I hope that I can write works that are more excellent and refined.
Q20: What would you like to say to the fans that have supported you all these years?
A: I knew it, I knew that this question would be the finale! To those that have supported me for so many years, thank you, thank you, still thank you. The words are simple, but truly, only these two words can most accurately express what I wish to say.

Result of the Eclipse
Tumblr media
Summary: A prophecy that foretold the witches getting the patron of the Moon and her child spurred an uprising between the races of the witches, vampires, and wolves. Jealous rage fueled their fight, and soon the Moon had no choice but to separate the races.
Pairing: namjoon x reader
Genre et Rating: vampire au, witch au, angst, fluff, mature
WC: 3.9k
Warnings: mentions of blood, a really bad spell (i’m sorry)
A/N: I have not written in a looooong time, so when I started this, I couldn’t stop. I had to force myself to stop so I could work on an important assignment. So this will most definitely have a part 2! This was also part of the halloween event by @heartsforbtsnet.
There had been a time where the three races of supernaturals lived together in peace. It was centuries before the crowned prince and goddess met.  Stories were passed down from the old about special gatherings where drunken laughter and the occasional moans resounded through the streets of the town.
But that was centuries ago and nothing but wild fairy tales to tell the children.
The fight that ended the harmony between the wolves, the vampires, and the witches was a small but powerful one that would not heal on its own.
The day the Moon gave herself over to the witches was the day that no one would ever see amity again.  The wolves and the vampires were jealous and jealousy is the ugliest emotion. It can make reckless decisions for oneself.
“How can the Moon betray us like this? I thought we were her favorite,” the vampires hissed.
“You? We are born under her light and become even more powerful than we know,” the wolves howled.
The fighting soon began to become violent between the three races. Witches cast horrible curses to keep themselves safe from the poisonous bite of the vampire and the sharp canines of the wolves.
The Moon took matters into her own hands and separated the races as sorrowful as it made her. She promised they would be reunited as one again when her princess was born and learned the ways of the witches.
The vampires and wolves grumpily accepted and built their own cities while the witches prepared for the upcoming Eclipse that would bring them their most powerful goddess. Everything was peaceful.
But that was centuries ago.
Namjoon waddled into his grandmother’s arms and gave her a kiss. He loved hearing the silly stories she told--no matter how sad or frightening they could be.  They were almost always about the old days before he was born.
Many Eclipses had come and gone through the years he’s been alive, and, yet, no one had announced the new princess. But his grandmother always told him to believe and keep his mind open.
But he didn’t need her to say that. He knew she was alive and well. And as the five-year-old he was, he just wanted to find her like a game of hiding and seek. He knew he couldn’t leave the cities’ limits though. So he only let himself believe and told no one about his intuition.
His grandmother sent him to bed and kissed on the cheek.
“Good night, my little prince. I feel there will be good news for you tomorrow.”
“Well then I need to sleep quickly, so tomorrow can come! Night!”
His grandmother smiled and left the room. Her little one could sleep through the night and even through the morning’s breakfast. There were times he would wake up the very next night and sleep an hour or two later. He was very keen to his vampiric nature even at such a young age. Luckily he had not a thirst for blood as others did.
The prince was awake the next morning, as he had promised. The noise level of the castle was more than what he was used to.  The servants were running around with fresh linen and buckets of blood at their side. The rare activity excited the small child at the news his grandmother suggested.
Bouncing into the dining room for breakfast, he was met with his mother’s and father’s serious faces. Sensing their child, they immediately put smiles on their faces and alerted the kitchen servants. A few minutes later, his plate was piling high with pancakes in the shape of bears and a cup of orange juice.  His parents had tried giving him blood as a supplement to the orange juice, but it disgusted him, and never wanted it again.
The King and Queen kept smiling at him, their nervous energy unbeknownst to their son. After a few bites, the Queen pushed aside her plate and leaned towards her son.
“Joonie. We have some big news to tell you!”
Namjoon paused the fork that had a piece of his pancake, and glanced at his mother, “What? Grandmother said it would be good!”
“Well, it is, baby. Good for you..... The Princess has been alive for 6 years! And she is coming to visit us for 2 days.”
“I knew it! So I’ll be able to play with her!”
“You knew?” The King asked.  He peered at his wife, a silent message passing through the both of them.
“Yes! I’ve also had dreams of her! She’s really pretty!”
“Oh dear. If this means what I think it means…” The Queen trailed off, watching her husband inform the kitchen of the new plan.
The Princess would not be coming to stay with them. Not now.
“Another fire, Princess?”
The servant witch stared in shock at the spreading fire you had accidentally started. It was the fourth one today, and, if you were being honest, you thought you were getting better at controlling fire spells.
“Yes, another one. Will you help me put it out once again before Mother comes?”
The servant nodded and proceeded to recite the spell for you, ending the fire’s spread. Normally, servants were not allowed to use their magic. However, your mother had thought it necessary when emergencies occurred. Emergencies like fires and floods caused by you.
Sighing deeply, you slumped into your chair, feeling the headache that followed your disasters.  Half of your room was charred and it would take another spell to fix it. Twenty-six years of practicing and you still weren’t able to do the simplest spells without going overboard.
“Is there anything else you need Princess?”
“I’m fine. Now leave me alone please.”
The servant nodded and left the room, leaving you in complete silence.
“I bet the other witches don’t have to clean up ashes.”
Your spell book was part of the ash but thankfully you had memorized the spell for cleaning up.
“All right. Not too much and not too little. Just enough,” you recited the spell, closing your eyes not wanting to see the catastrophe that might occur.
When nothing could be heard, you opened them and let out a happy wheeze. Your room was clean and your possessions were in one piece again.
“Success! Finally!”
You were definitely getting better.
A knock on your door interrupted your silent celebration.
“Come in!” Your mother, the Moon, walked in and took note of your happy form.  “I assume you did not cause another fire?”
“Ah...No. However, I did manage to clean up the mess myself. “
“You’re getting better! The servants told me the fire was spreading on half of your room.”
You smiled at the praise, striding over to her and giving her a warm hug.
“I missed you.”
“As I missed you. Your father likes to be prepared for Eclipses even though we’ve done them countless times. One of those Eclipses even brought you into the world.” “Mother, I have heard the story before and I do not wish to hear it again. Please save me my innocent ears.”
“Innocent?” Your mother chortled. “Sweetheart, I have seen you ogling the male witches. You may even have a crush on one if I remember correctly. Oh, what is his name?”
“Seokjin! And he is only a friend. I have no romantic feelings towards him. You should know this after you snuck into my artbook!”
“I did not sneak into it. It was lying open and I peeked at it.  Very...detailed,” your mother raised her eyebrows knowingly.
You shook your head and made your way over to the cursed book in question. It was true. The man you had been drawing since you could dream was etched into your artbook. You had no idea who he might be, but you knew he was a vampire.
Flipping to a page where you knew his smile was prominent, you noted the details of his dimples and how his fangs were not as sharp as the vampires you had met.
“Very handsome indeed.” Your mother’s soft voice surprised you causing you to jump and drop the book.
The page it landed on was of a full body portrait. It was of the unnamed man standing in front of giant double doors with a suit on. His expression was grave, drawing it had made you worry for the man.
The Moon picked up the book, studying the details.
“Oh,” she gasped. “ I recognize this crest. It’s of the royal vampires. He must be part of the family.”
“There are royal vampires?”
“Yes. Do you remember when you were six years old? We were preparing for you to spend a couple of days there.” A sad smile formed on your mother’s face.  “However, they cancelled suddenly. And I may have a clue as to why now.” “You think it has something to do with me and my dreams?”
“I know it. Remember the stories I used to tell you.”
You remembered clearly. Your mother was the Moon and had ultimately stopped a war by sending the three major races of supernaturals to separate parts of the kingdom. Only her unborn child, you, could reunite them if you found the one you loved.  How would the vampire royalty figure out their son was your true prince? “Could he be dreaming of me as well?” The thought of the man seeing you as you saw him made a rush of blood warm your cheeks.
“It’s possible. I would say we visit them as a surprise, but there still may be wounds that have not been cared for yet. They would not like to see me.”
You understood her words. Your mother’s reasoning behind choosing the witches as her patrons was a reasonable one, but the vampires and the wolves would not hear of it.  The vampires were too selfish and the wolves were too prideful.
“You’re too kind for them anyway. I wouldn’t want a prince who turns his back on my mother,” you took the artbook from her and closed it with a huff.
Grinning, you poke your spellbook open to the spell you had been practicing for the past few days.
“Invisibility? What pranks are you trying to pull now?”
“Oh nothing Mother. I just want to show you”
“Well then. Go ahead.”
Letting out a deep breath, you spoke the words, feeling a rush of wind flow through you.
As you opened your eyes, you looked in the mirror and your shoulders fell. It had not worked again.
Your mother started chuckling, trying to stop herself from laughing uncontrollably.
Annoyed, you ask, “What is so funny?”
“You recited the wrong spell. I believe the spell you did was the floating one.” She pulled the book towards her and nodded.
Confused, you looked down and gasped. You were floating. How had you not realized the first couple of times?
“Fuck.”
“Language,” the Moon called out between breaths of laughter.
“You aren’t supposed to laugh at me, I put all the effort into this!”
“I think your effort is top tier, my dear. But please, can we go to the right spell?”
After a few hours of practicing several of your weakest spells, you were allowed to venture into the garden. Your favorite place in the entire kingdom.  It was in the middle of the city and grew every single sort of flower anyone could imagine. You treasured the zinnias the most. They represented remembering or thinking of one’s friends or lovers. Ever since you first dreamed of the man, you were always thinking of him.
You had recognized the crest, and your mother’s affirmation only proved that you needed to do something wild and forbidden.
Picking a bouquet of the zinnias, along with a few others, you place them into a basket and draw the cloak you had brought along with you over your head.
Reciting the invisibility spell, you felt the same woosh of wind from earlier. It was an odd feeling spreading through your body. But you knew it had worked when a servant came whistling around the corner and didn’t double take at your appearance.
The city of the vampires, which you had learned was called Saorsa, was only beyond the limits of your kingdom.  It would be almost an hour’s trip by walking. You didn’t plan on walking as your dainty feet wouldn’t last that long, so you opted for the enjoyable version.
Seokjin was waiting for you at the beginning of the forest line. He was shifting his weight from foot to foot, looking around every so often for anyone that would think he was suspicious.
“Seokjin, you’re doing this for Y/N. Get it together.”
He heard the bush rattling, and glanced over to it.
“Y/N? Princess? Is that you?” “Yes!” You said behind the frightened man.
Jumping back a few feet, your friend let out a yelp. His handsome face scrunching in fear.
Laughing, you come out of your invisibility and raise the hood of your cloak. “My friend you are such a scaredy-cat. How will you survive encounters with the vampires?”
“By not interacting with them Princess,” he scolded. He took a few deep breaths, trying to regain his composure. “Now let’s go ahead and get this over with. Remember what we practiced? I do not want to be turned into a rat again.”
“I can do it this time. I’ve even mastered the fire spell you taught me.”
“I heard your room went ablaze again.”
“I call that progress Seokjin.”
Seokjin laughed and stood back.
You spoke the spell excitedly, watching as your friend transformed from a handsome man into a gorgeous brown horse.
He neighed, stomping his foot in hurrah at the success of your spell.
“Yes! Let’s go. Let me hop on!”
Hopping up to the horse’s back was a trial but you managed it by grabbing his mane, a little huff coming from him, and lifting your leg as far as it could go. Clutching onto his mane, you steadied yourself and took at the dense forest.
Not a soul could stop you from meeting the man that captivated your thoughts.
“Seokjin, I think we’re almost there! I can see the castle from here!”
The hour’s walk had turned into a mere thirty minutes with the quickness of Seokjin’s hooves and a little magic.
The home of the vampires was close as the outline of the foreboding outline of the caste. The stark difference of your home and the vampire’s was colour; there seemed to be a lack of colour. Your mother had always told you vampires loved the darkness, which is why they loved her so much.  However, you had never thought it true. Who wouldn’t love to see colours pink, red, and yellow? The grey and black was hideous in your eyes. You could only hope that the man, who you now assumed was a prince, loved colours as much as you did.
The tree line was slowly leading to a row of houses and you sensed that you would have to cloak soon.
You had never practiced with two people--let alone a horse--so you could only pray to the Moon that it worked.
Before you could try, Seokjin abruptly launched you into the air. Landing with an unprincess-like grunt a few feet from him, you make out Seokjin’s broad figure laying unmoving. A figure appeared from the shadows, blood dripping down their neck as they kneeled next to you.
Whimpering, you tried to move away, but the sting of your broken leg kept you still.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,”the figure cursed.
Your vision was blurring, and you could almost hear your mother say, “Language.”
The moonlight that spilled onto your face was almost blinding. Blinking a few times, you manage to register that you were on a bed with silk sheets draped across your body.  Foreign, yet it was warm and comfortable.
You had no recollection of being put in bed-let alone being carried to the room. There wasn’t a clock on the stand next to you, but you knew it had to be close to midnight. You weren’t too sure of the day.
The throbbing in your leg was barely noticeable as you sat up to collect your thoughts and survey the rest of the room.  The only light in the room came from the Moon, giving you a little bit of calmness. Your mother was watching in spirit.
Seokjin wasn’t in the room with you. You could only hope he was fine. His unmoving body was singed in your mind and the guilt was slowly beginning to take over you. It had been your idea to use him as a horse to travel to the unknown land of the vampires. Unfortunately, it seemed only disaster struck as soon as you reached the city. The figure, that you assumed was a vampire, must have carried you here.  He seemed to be frantic once he realized what he had done.  Maybe Seokjin was here as well being taken care of.
Wiping away the tears that slipped from your eyes, you stood up testing the weight of your legs. The pain was minimal and manageable. You presumed that it had been broken, perhaps it was only sprained. Opening the door of the room, you peek out into the hall that appeared to only house your room.
“Hello?” your question echoed through the hall.
No one answered so you stepped out into the hallway, letting the door close behind you.
There were no audible or visual signs that anyone was nearby. Just the soft steps of your feet as you made your way towards the staircase at the end of the hallway.  The stairs were dark, the moonlight not being able to reach it from the windows. There was only one spell you knew that could provide a light for you, but it was the cause for most of the fires in your room.
“Can’t hurt to try. And if it does go ablaze, perhaps someone would smell it and come!” Your mother had told you optimism was one of your best gifts, and you intended to use it in this strange place.
“ Light is what I need,
To guide my way through the dark
Just a little to lead.”
Feeling your palm warming, you opened it, smiling at the little ball of light that hovered in your hand.
“Finally!”
You let yourself gloat for a second before continuing up the stairs. They wound up several stories to a heavy door.  Pushing it brought you no success, and knocking on it would only hurt. You had no choice but to use your magic to open it--not that you wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to practice.
The heavy door exploded open with your spell; the sound of it slamming against the wall should have been loud enough to alert anyone lurking. When no one seemed to be making their way to you, you continued your self-guided tour of your containment.
“Where is everyone?”
Your home was always bustling with activity, day and night. From the stories your mother and father told you, you had expected vampires to be awake at night when the Moon was at her highest.  Mayhaps they slept through the night to dishonour her. Your mother did say the wounds had not healed though it was centuries before you were born.
Perhaps your Prince would want to change that.
There was another set of stairs that went up for several stories. They had put you in the lowest part of the castle. At least you surmised it was the castle, there was no other possible reason why a house would have two basements.
At the next door, you could hear the clear, distinct sounds of laughter and clinking glasses greeted you.
Delighted to finally have a form of contact, you quickly cast the spell to open the heavy door, announcing your presence to the entire kitchen.
Three servants gasped at your appearance, dropping a few of the goblets and plates.
“H-hi? I’m from-”
“Witch,” one of the servants hissed.
Their fangs lengthened as they circled you.
“Please. I do not come to harm you,” you backed up against the door, arms in front of you as a sign of peace.  “But I will if you come any closer.”
They all laughed at your words--the threat doing nothing to them.
“The ugly witch threatens us?”
“Where did she even come from?”
“The dungeons perhaps?”
You whimpered, not understanding what you needed to do to escape the wrath of the servants. Magic seemed to be the only wrong answer.  Harming them was not something you wanted to do.
“I am your future Goddess. My name is Y/N! Daughter of the Moon and the Sun.”
They laughed again. The old wrenches caring only about draining you.
“We do not care about your mother. She betrayed us long ago.”
“I’m sorry for what she did, but you deserved it. You hurt the witches because of your people’s jealous rage. You’re lucky she didn’t take away your existence completely.” You had no idea where the confidence to say the things that were always hiding in the back of your mind. Your mother had regretted the decision to separate the races for centuries, and there was no reason for her to continue to have a contrite heart any longer.
The vampires hesitated for a second only to continue their dance towards you.
“Strong words coming from a witch,” they all hissed.
“Strong words coming from my guest, servants,” a powerful voice coming from the doorway.
All four of you glanced, and your heart sped up.
It was him.
He stood regal in the doorway, hands hidden in his suit pocket. His brown hair was messy as if he had just woken up. There was a twitch of annoyance in his grey eyes as he made his over to your shaking body.
Taking your hands into his, he ran a finger across the skin. A touch of warmth spread across your body and instantly calmed you.
“Breakfast was supposed to be served minutes ago,” he cast a look at the servants who had since backed away from you. “And then I hear the voice of our guest trembling in fear. How do you think that makes me  feel?” “We are sorry, Your Highness.”
“Yes very.”
“Saying sorry isn’t enough sometimes, isn’t it? You should all be aware of this as the Moon herself has said it countless times, and what did your families do?”
You had no idea what was happening between the four of them, but your Prince certainly had leverage.
The servants bowed in submission to their Prince and scurried away.
He turned towards you and caressed your cheek; his face turning into one of elation, “I cannot believe you’re actually here.”
“I cannot believe it either. I had a rather unfortunate welcome.”
“I know. And for that I’m sorry. Taehyung thought it was someone coming to attack us. He’s our best soldier and uses his fangs first before thinking. “
Frowning, you asked, “And what of my friend? Seokjin? He was a horse before he was forcefully turned back. The last I saw him...he was not moving and your “best” soldier wore his blood on his face.”
The Prince grimaced, your tone not something he wished to hear again. “He’s safe. Recuperating in the infirmary. He passed out from being forced to turn into a human and from the little nick of blood Taehyung took. He seems to be afraid of his own blood.”
Satisfied with his answer and the safety of  Seokjin, you lean into his chest, wanting to be close to him.
“What’s your name?”
“Namjoon. Kim Namjoon.”
You giggled, “All of my dreams of you, and not one of them ever told me your name.”
“Mine did. Welcome to my home, Y/N.”

Synopsis:  Rin attempts to design more of her future but she needs Karen's help for a little bit of artistic inspiration.
Rin had been nervous to call Karen so late at night, but she leapt so quickly to answer the phone, seemingly thrilled that someone had rung, that enthusiasm heartened Rin only to dishearten herself within the seconds of Karen exuberantly greeting her. Rin scolded herself, calling herself an idiot for likely getting Karen’s hopes up. Karen was probably expecting her parents to be on the other end of the line but no. It was just her. Nonetheless, Karen spoke with her placidly and they arranged a means to Rin’s ends.
See, Rin had a little project in mind, but she wanted something very specific for it and thinking of Karen’s greenhouse, she thought she might find that very specific something there. Karen assured her that she would, and Rin was happy enough with that. After all, if worse came to worst, they lived in the information age and she could just go on the family computer or even to the library to find the resources that she needed. Its just. She wanted to see them in the flesh.
“Thank you for having me.” Rin awkwardly said when she arrived at the opulent golden gates of the Minazuki estate.
“Thank you for coming over, I’m glad to be of help.” Karen replied with the utter blitheness befitting of a rich girl.
Still, Rin could feel the weirdness of it. It was strange for them to be one on one at Karen’s place. Normally the rest of their crew were hanging around as well, but the stars aligned for some privacy, she guessed. Nozomi had to get ready for a publication party that her father was taking her on; Urara was on a job for some sort of iced tea commercial; Komachi was at the public library doing research for her next novel; and of course Coco and Nuts had Nuts House to look after with Milk. So, it was just Rin and Karen at Karen’s place. Even though it was maybe a bit strained and lonely without the rest of their friends around, Rin felt that she could work on her project better if it was just her and Karen. There would be more peace and quiet for knuckling down. So, she was looking forward to it as looked through the bars of the gate with her usual kind of daggy smile.
Slowly but surely, the gates began to open up via some unseen mechanisation and Rin slipped through before they could fully open. She flashed a smile at Karen who was already willing to lead the way from here to the greenhouse that she had on the estate grounds. No matter how many times Rin visited, the Minazuki gardens never failed to impress her. The immaculate, green, trimmed lawns; the various water features; the sprawling roads with nary a piece of white gravel out of place. Rich folk were truly rich folk.
It was about ten to fifteen-minute walk to get to the front gates, past front gardens, past the main body of the mansion, and past the back gardens to get to the greenhouse. That big, sprawling jungle of a greenhouse that never failed to transport Rin to another country. It was a lot different to the greenhouse at home which incubated out of season plants for customers who had no idea about the seasonality of plants.
Entering the greenhouse, Rin felt regardless of its enormity or how exotic it was. Inside, she felt as though she could breathe clearly and deeply. The oxygen that these plants produced was thick and sweet; Rin found it incredibly refreshing to step into the greenhouse and Karen followed along behind her.
“This will be perfect.” Rin said, looking around, her blood orange eyes were bright.
“That’s great to hear.” Karen replied. She bounced expectantly on the heel of her foot, hands behind her back, a little bit fidgety.
Rin beamed and she pulled one strap of her backpack off her shoulder so that she could ruffle through it. She got out an artbook and a pencil case that was orange. She then attempted to hike back her backpack onto her shoulders; Karen giggled demurely as she came over.
“Here, let me help.” Karen said.
  “A’ight.” Rin murmured.
She blushed slightly as Karen adjusted the straps for her. She even went the extra mile of making sure the bag was zipped up properly, too. She patted down the squares of the backpack and smiled, satisfied, to herself.
“There we go.” she said, rather cheerful. “All done.”
  “Thank you muchly.” Rin replied.
With her backpack back in place and with her supplies in tow, it was time for her to get to work, scrounging up her inspiration and she vowed to not let a single tile of this greenhouse go unturned as she was on the pursuit for every species of butterfly that Karen was fairly certain that they housed. But before she could get into the thick of her work, Rin glanced back at Karen.
“Are you, um, content to hover?” Rin asked, hugging herself a little tighter as she cradled her supplies.
“Oh, yes, definitely. I love observing artists – and writers – in their natural habitat. I consider myself quite the naturalist on the topic, if you will have me, that is.” Karen explained.
“Then I’d love to have you on board, fellow naturalist. Although, I suppose,” Rin touched her face in thought, “we’re etymologists – not just any old type of naturalist – this afternoon.”
Karen blinked as she followed the train of thought. “We are, too.” she said. “I promise to keep a look out.”
  “Much obliged.” Rin replied.
Feeling confident in her craft and her companion, they started wandering the winding paths of the greenhouse’s insides. Now, officially, they were on the hunt for butterflies so that Rin could have the perfect and liveliest inspiration for the project that she had her mind on as of late. Now that she had an inkling of what she wanted to do in the future, she wanted to solidify it further, to make sure she was certain so her little pet project was to make various bits and pieces of jewellery for her friends and she already had a specific piece in mind for Karen before anyone else.
It was a shame it was a little embarrassing. Or maybe premature. But Rin wanted to make a ring for Karen. Not a matching ring or a promise ring, that was way too much but a ring was still the perfect piece that Rin could come up with for Karen. Even though rings could convey such heavy and intense emotions, it simply had to be a ring that Rin would give Karen.
As they walked around, trying to find butterflies to look at, Rin kept stealing glances at Karen’s hands and seeing them just affirmed the idea that her long, slender fingers would look truly splendid with a ring. Rin became all the more certain in her conviction. She would make a special ring for Karen with a butterfly motif.
First, she just had to find some butterflies to study up. Shouldn’t be that hard. Where there were plants, typically there were insects. And between the two of them, they had seen a nice array of insects inside the greenhouse – dragonflies, damselflies, fruit flies, all sorts – but no butterflies. But that wasn’t to say that Rin was uninspired by what she saw.
Snooping along the various leaves and petals of all the plants, Rin had managed to scratch down many ideas onto her page, just none like the one that she hungered for. It also wasn’t for lack of trying either. Karen was doing her best to help and being Karen, her best was haughty and to the bitterest end that Karen could find. Rin appreciated the efforts, above and beyond as they were, though.
Still, plopping down in front of the main water feature inside of the greenhouse, Rin had filled up plenty of her sketchpad. She was sitting, cross-legged, watching the water whilst she kept her head propped up by her knuckles, her elbows digging into her knees. Her sketch book splayed over the criss-cross of her legs. Trying to be polite and hospitable, Karen inched closer, trying to both avoid any glimpse of Rin’s prototype drawings and trying to do anything but that.
“Should I be going soon?” Rin asked and then she checked her watch. “I’ve been an hour and a half, you know.”
“If you feel the need to,” Karen replied diplomatically, “please don’t feel like you could ever overstay your welcome.”
“Ah, thank you, Karen.” Rin said with a smile, but she sounded a little flat.
Karen noticed and she grimaced, casting a glance downwards at Rin and sure enough. She looked pretty glum.
“I’m sorry that we didn’t see any-” Karen cut herself off as her eyes went wide.
Rin blinked and she tried to speak but Karen cut her off with sudden hand movements. Rin’s shoulders crackled as she was assailed by this sudden lack of Karen-ness from Karen.
  “Stay. Still.” Karen breathed.
“Okaaaay.” Rin murmured under her breath.
Karen crouched down and she slowed down. Rin felt her temperature rising as Karen came in so close to her, reaching out to her. Her fingers brushed past Rin’s cheek, curling back a strand of her fluffy reddish hair and then holding still. Karen’s eyes were huge with blue wonder and Rin was entranced by them as Karen stared so intently at something just past her face.
“Can you feel it?” Karen whispered.
Rin blushed. All she could feel was how her heart thumped in her chest. “No.” she replied on the cusp of an exhale.
  “There we go…” Karen murmured.
Her hand receded back, and Rin’s breath was taken away. She hadn’t even noticed but it appeared that a butterfly had landed on her head whilst she was sitting down and now, it had scuttled onto the elegant bow of Karen’s finger which made for an excellent perch for it. The butterfly glittered beyond Rin’s eyes.
Its wings shuttered at a calm pace. The scales embedded in them were blue and a magenta-like pink but so, so beautiful. Its antennae twitched and Rin could have sat there for hours whilst Karen held up this butterfly to her. It was perfect. She could already feel the cogs of creation start to turn.
Despite not wanting to spook the butterfly, Rin picked up her book and pen. She quickly started to scrawl down the basics of its anatomy and notes on its colouration. Rin was completely absorbed into the channelling of her inspiration; her determination and tenacity enchanted Karen. From the way she stuck out her tongue to the sweat dripping down her brow, Karen was in awe of the sheer energy that Rin was radiating.
“Okay. Done.” Rin said with a satisfied sigh.
Karen smiled and she had to admit, her index finger did ache with being held up. And it seemed that the butterfly was done, too. It shook out its wings before taking flight once more. When it entered the air, the beating of its wings were unsteady but it even out just fine, flitting up high, as the girls watched.
“Thank you so much, Karen.” Rin beamed.
“No worries.” Karen replied as she got up. Her thighs ached but not as badly as they could have as she did take various etiquette classes, after all.
Rin got up now as well, tucking her sketchbook under her arm, the gleam of all her big ideas still in her eyes.
“Thank you for coming around.” Karen added but she noticed Rin staring. “Is something the matter?”
“You remember our promise, right?” asked Rin.
“Yes, of course, I would never forget something as important as that.” Karen replied, she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“Good because, um, I’m pleased to announce I’m making good progress.” Rin said excitedly.
“I’m pleased to hear it.” Karen smiled.
“Not just career wise.” Rin piped up, adding on awkwardly.
  “Oh?” Karen blinked owlishly.
“Yeah.” Rin said. “I want you to be apart of my future, too. Part of my dreams.”
Karen was taken aback – even flustered – by the admission from Rin but she smiled. She settled into it, all cosy like, and she leaned in.
“I’d like that very much.” Karen replied quietly.
She kissed a butterfly kiss unto Rin’s face. She was elegant as she did so. Her lips were soft to grace Rin’s gawky, angular cheeks but her eyelashes were even softer. Rin held her breath, blushing, and she gripped her sketchbook tighter. Drawings of prototype rings to promise to Karen hidden against her stomach. In the full gauntlet of admiring Karen, Rin winced, she had to force herself to close her eyes to Karen’s grace and beauty, as Karen, giggling and flirtatious, made sure to nuzzle Rin with all the edges of her eyelashes.

Burn
(( Mostly in reference to angst with a former 'flame' - though there’s also mentions of one @ketsuchikotetsu as well! ))
My fingers shook, at first.
My sketchbook is as close to ‘holy’ as I think I get - my art is...passion. The incomprehensible given form given beauty - given life that it, perhaps ironically, lacks in the flesh. Pages upon pages stare back at me...their multitudinous expressions reflected back from my own mind’s eye - the nuance of a smile’s tilt, or the crease in a frown...the furrow of a brow, the tilt of an ear, a dusting of freckles, or the fall of hair just so.
I started slow - one page at a time, tearing slowly and gently. I can’t...hold onto them anymore, their expressions I archived so intently. I can’t look back, or I will drown. One by one I pick up speed, thrusting the pages into the hungry flames at my side, as a snarl builds in my chest...though now and then a few pages are snatched up by the equally greedy wind...and are taken out to sea for their demise.
Fitting, really.
Tumblr media
My hands still shake, but I get into the flow, and I just keep moving - one page after another tears away from the thing’s spine, and my sketchbook - like my life - lies tattered...gutted - shreds of it strewn about, or drifting away as cinders on a sea breeze.
One of them lingers in it’s tattered pages...the one who always lingers. He was the first one to grace the pages of this sketchbook - fitting that he’d be the one left when the rest burned. And there will come another artbook. A new one. A fresh one, now. No more memories of those to whom I always came second, while I bent over backwards...while I defended them, as they were both already moving on.
I knew. I expected it. I don’t get to wallow in self-pity. But I can’t escape the inevitable emotional process - nor the ways in which I began to fear the Smuggler - the Pawn - near the end that still haunt me, now; I can’t just...forget the Wolf’s hands as the gentle, healing ones in the aftermath...and the smuggler’s as the ones that snapped me, broke me, and bent me out of place...all while murmuring dulcet whispers.
Like a toy. A plaything that he thinks he’s broken, so he’s thrown me away.
It’s bad enough, staying in my apartment...where I never know if I’ll actually be safe, without setting up magical safety measures I lack the expertise to devise or enable. Nor am I confident that I’d be in the right mind to defend myself, if he showed up. The mind turns on itself in paranoia, though I’ve made the mistake of underestimating him once already - much to my current chagrin. I’ll take no more chances with this particular obsessive, possessive madman. Perhaps his interest is solely focused on his new prey. And perhaps I’d make a better dragon, in his mind, if I were a caged one - a better ‘goddess’ if I stayed in a ‘temple’. And maybe he’ll just pretend nothing happened, and try to gloss over it - as usual. But it doesn’t pay to avoid thinking of the worst...because that’s when it happens.
So I stay on the move between inns, but I still don’t rest well. I don’t eat much.
I think about somnus constantly.
It’d be a lot easier if I could...just have a smoke, now and then. Unlike that predatory prick, however, I refuse to have someone tamper with my mind to make me put down my problematic behavior. That’s his problem - taking the first easy option that presents itself - literally, apparently. It’ll all come back to bite him in the ass one day, though. Tortoise and the hare, and all - every kit knows that story from the fireside.
I’ll power through somehow; I don’t need the drugs...I just...need a little help to get through the next couple weeks. I need somewhere I feel safe enough to actually sleep through the night, and...I think that requires the request of a favor I don’t really have the right to ask...but since when has that ever stopped me from trying?
I think it amuses the Wolf, honestly, when I have no option but to ask. Perhaps it will amuse this time, as well. I am trying to make up for...disappointing him? Supposing that was real, at any rate. I can’t trust anything. But at least it’s a goal to work towards, that ‘request’ of his; gives me something to chew on when I can’t sleep.
‘Sleepless and alone,’ we mocked, tongue in cheek - I, turning bitterly from the truth. You don’t just admit to having violent nightmares. Especially about the person he told you not to get involved with, anyways.
In the meantime, I take what solace I can in watching the Pawn’s face burn - over, and over, and over again. I think about the things I would have done for him. I think about the humiliating things I’ve already suffered for him. A part of me celebrates, yes, that I am free of the crushing weight of his ignorance, sloth, and gluttony - of the oppressive burden of doing everything for him, while he cried about the injustice of higher expectations. I think about how I could have been trapped with that, and yet he’s the one who tore it all apart in the end; it troubles me. Perhaps he just is that fucking stupid? Perhaps he’ll come back with violence in mind, or some obsession he’ll disguise as ‘guilt’...and yet...some small, traitorous part of me still mourns.
I’m no stranger to obsession...or possessiveness. I’m just better at controlling it.
Usually.
What we could have been, if he’d just worked with me. What he’s capable of...if he’d just been honest about it from the start, instead of playing a role - instead of living a lie that impressed no one! But then...that’s that dying little spark’s problem, isn’t it? It loved his potential - what he might have been. What could be, but never will. I might have well and truly admired him - loved him without coercion - if he’d just been what he really is, under the grinning veneer: the creatureI saw when I first met him, and took that ill-fated gamble.
I suppose...I drag it out of them purposefully, their shadow-selves - the monster, the dark impulse...I demand the honesty and barbarity of it - so how can I really complain, when I’m bloodied by as much? Perhaps he’ll even grow into his own, at last, now. Perhaps I won’t gain from it, but the ripples are made...the stone is cast. I need not bloody this star by my own hand, to sow the seeds of chaos.
I made what I wanted, didn’t I?
I molded this monster.
I spurred him on.
I watch him go up in flames, anyways - let it all burn.
