About that one Mr mime card where they're playing imaginary chess, do you think it could be a test of strength for them? Not only do they have to stay focused on the charade for however long the game lasts they also have to correctly envision the amount of squares on the board, remember the positions of their own pieces and their opponents pieces, and know the actual rules of chess, WHILE nothing is actually there. There are no chairs there is no board and the pieces don't exist. It all comes down to who can pretend better

The “Mr Mime is Ash’s dad” theory mildly irks me NOT because I don’t like it or whatever but bc the canon reason Mimey is there is just SO MUCH FUNNER. For plot related reasons Ash dresses up as a Mr Mime in a circus just outside Pallet town but gets kidnapped by Team Rocket. Brock and Misty are like “oh they’ll let him go once they realise he’s not a Pokemon, we should tell Delia that he’s gonna show up at her house in a Mr Mime costume so she isn’t freaked out” but then an ACTUAL Mr Mime shows up at her house before he does and because Delia is as faceblind as her son she mistakes it for him. And this Mr Mime is like “oh I like it here” and starts helping out around the house doing chores in exchange for food. And then when Ash DOES get home he’s like “mom why is there a Mr Mime here” and she goes “oops! Well he helps more around the house than you so I’m keeping him” and does. Mimey is not Ash’s dad. Mimey is his step-brother and canonically the favourite child

While the Trainers are away, the Mons will play! I think Wobbuffet has had a bit of a bad influence on poor innocent(?) Mr. Mime. This was inspired again by @yamujiburo 's wonderful comic series, specifically this recent ask that included new headcannons, where Mimey and Wobbuffet are besties. The idea to have them attempt a heist while their trainers were away on vacation seemed too funny not to draw. (I also know that Mimey's invis-walls probably don't require any effort to stop things, but it's way funnier this way so) Thank you again, as always, for the wonderful art and basically creating a ship from whole-cloth and sailing it into widespread acclaim lol
