Minecraft Mod idea because GOD I’ve had this idea since forever and I needed to put it on paper.
I have always been a sucker for ambience in Minecraft, but almost every weather mod I find is more focused on the survival aspect of it so, for the longest time I’ve thought about what a more ambient form of weather mod would be like.
I would absolutely love to make this into an actual mod myself, but my 0 experience in coding and modding is unfortunately hindering that idea. >_> Though if there’s anyone out there with modding experience that actually wants to help make this a thing, I’d be more than happy to help out in any way I can with it.

I went downstairs to make a cup of coffee and had a vision from the gods so uh. Let's talk about Mob Juice!
What is Mob Juice?
Ok so first off, that isn't the actual name, it's just a vague placeholder. If I was actually making this I'd probably go with "Mob Essence" or something.
So Mob Juice is basically my concept for how to have a Spawn Egg-like item in Survival. Basically, you craft one of these things:
Yes, it is meant to look like the ADAM needles from Bioshock and also (to a lesser extent) the Vita-Saw from TF2.
Then, you search for the mob you want to juice, and right-click it with the syringe. This adds a small amount of juice to the item, and increments a few pixels of juice in the sprite (it uses colours sampled from the mob's texture). These can then be schklorped into Netherite canisters!
Canisters: a Primer
This
is a canister. They're made out of Netherite (as it's the only material strong enough to contain Mob Juice's powerful energy or whatever), and can be thrown. More on that in a bit.
So you fill them up, and they. Fill. With a liquid coloured like the mob! I already put a gif of the Creeper one at the top of the post, so uhhhhh how about Sniffer.
Yum yum Sniffer juice :D But don't drink it! Throw it. If you do this, then you get a free Sniffer! Yay!!!
If you crouch, then you place them instead of throwing them, and because this is like a theoretical thing they're compatible with Create's fluid mechanics, so you can (theoretically) enjoy a relaxing Mooshroom shower.
Anyway uhhhh those are all the ideas I have. Bye!

dammit I wish I could figure out how to mod minecraft, I wanna make a damn booze mod: wheat for beer Honey for mead apples for cider Sweet Berries for wine potatoes for vodka
I'm thinking that you surround a barrel with bees wax in a crafting table to make a "Fermenting Cask"
Then place the Fermenting Cask and open its inventory like a brewing stand and put in a bucket of water, the crop of choice for the drink you want, and some sugar.
Then leave it for like... three ingame days and you can then put glass bottles into an output slot to get filled with your beverage.
Drinking them applies different, and possibly stacking, levels of a nausea but also gives back hunger and saturation, as well as applying a mild form of potion effect or some other good attribute
Oh and use the poisonous potato to make "tainted vodka" that makes you go blind for a while after drinking it.

Void Colossus are an ancient predator of the end, very little is remembered about them besides that they were a predator of the Ender dragon, what is known is that they are a powerful boss mob that use the bulb on their back to feel what is happening above the void where they dwell, it is also believed that the carving of modern ender eyes are to mimic this great beasts one eye.
(Real world inspiration, Gorillas and Theropods.)
Ender Harriers are a small species of predatory bird from the end that can be tamed. They get their colors in the same way the real world lammergeier get their hue, their colors can also be determined by the biome they are found in. Once tamed, Ender Harriers can be used to scout out a map for their keeper.
(Real world inspiration, the African Harrier and the Lammergeier.)
Chorus Stalkers are basically the village/piglin of the end. They come in four different variants.
The plain, they have no painted pattern and are usually younger than the rest.
The gatherer, basically the gardeners of the end, they trade you all the easy to get plant life and items. They also can be seen planting chorus shoot. They are usually painted in dull purples.
The hunter, the only Chorus Stalker type to be considered a neutral mob, they will attack the player if attacked as well as attack other untamed mobs on occasion, they are painted in teals and greens, their trades would focus on the mob loot from the end.
And finally the treasurer, they are painted in deep blues and seem to be the rarest of their kind, they sell hard to get items that would only spawn in the end or special items, like your ender eyes and end crystals.
(Real world inspiration, the Utahraptor artist reconstructions, and Gibbons.)
The Echo are a pack hunting mob from lushes end biomes, they have fragile translucent skin and though don't assume they are weak, they make up for their lack of defense with their quick and strong bite, as well as their group hunting mentally, the Chorus Stalkers often referr to these creatures as some of the most unpredictable animals in the end.
(Real world inspiration, Moray Eels, and Glass Frogs.)
The Nello is a tameable and rideable mob found in the end, usually in old growth chorus forest and on rare occasion in new growth forests, they can be tamed with with chorus fruits and then saddled, a buddle can also be added to their leg, but beware that if you leave a chorus fruit in there they will rummage threw it while landed to eat their favorite food, usually dumping the begs contents in the process. The Nello, sometimes when threatened, will expand its wings to look like the eye of a Void Colossus to scare off potential predators. They are also the pollinators of the chorus forests.
(Real world inspiration, Butterflies, Archaeopteryx artist reconstructions, and Sharks.)
Hi, thank you for reading this long post. If you got this far, that is lol, I really like designing these monsters so far and really want to do more. Maybe I'll even branch out to the other dimensions like the nether. But for now, I want to thank you for reading this and wish you a good day/night!
(Side note I know my inspirations are weird, but i really can't control it ;-;)

i have an idea for a Minecraft horror mod.
you spawn in with a bible. in the bible it has a list of materials it wants you to get withing a timeframe. it starts of simple. like get wood or coal. it then tells you to build a structure. a temple or church. in the mean time you encounter some mobs with broken texture that are very adamant at staring at you and nothing more. and zombies are more aggressive. just cus.
it then askes you to sacrifice things to it. first maybe some fruits and vegies or mob drops. then meat from cows pigs or sheep. then villagers. other players, and pets if you have them. then finally yourself.
failure to comply in any of these tasks will cause a massage to go of. something like, it is displeased. the more you refuse to do it the angrier and more aggressive it gets. you have 5 chances to complete the request before the massage just says. you are a bad child. before killing you with lightning. and instead of responding you are in spectator mode watching your body decay in to a zombie.
if you refuse to do the last step and still have chances, you can flip to the next page that tells you how to appease it in other ways. it will ask you to sacrifice yourself 4 more times threw out your game, and if you still have chances each time. it will eventually say. you are a good child and kill you. however this time you response with an extra bar of health and a new bible what will ask you for different things. when you complete the request you will get a gift of some kind. permanent heist, luck, special armor or weapons, and so on.
if you fail to comply at any time it will call you a bad child and kill you. but this time instead of turning in to a zombie, you become a broken textured mob, get up, and leave.

GIVEN the popularity of dweller/stalker esque
Minecraft mods a proper Operator (marble hornets Operator) mod would be AMAZING. like it just bothers you the same way it does the cast of marble hornets!
imagine walking around your base and you look away from a window for a few seconds to put something in a furnace before turning back and now your eyes are glitching.
even better would be if you're making a video and your audience gets to yell in the comments about seeing the operator in the corner of a video they didn't even realize.

I just know in my heart of hearts that in "Star Trek" at one point, there was some moral panic somewhere on Vulcan (among the uppity sorts) because Human culture was "infecting" the local youth with their overly emotional, destructive, unproductive, frivolous, and uneducational ways.
And what was actually happening was that a bunch of Vulcan kids got really into 23rd-century "Minecraft" or something.
Small Vulcan child @ another Vulcan child: (in a tone that sounds flat to Humans but angry as hell to Vulcans) "You have compromised the optimization of my fortress. I am having an emotional urge to blow up your house... in Minecraft."

I was recently exposed to the rabbit hole that is Minecraft horror mods and it honestly really disappointed me. So much so that I thought up my own horror mod in response with some key distinctions to make it feel actually scary:
Be as subtle as possible to the point that the player can't tell whether a mod or a weird glitch is causing the effects. Not only is it scarier to take advantage of the existing horror within vanilla but doing this would really mess with veteran players who know the game in-and-out.
Rely on ambient psychological horror. No jumpscares, no threats, no escalation, not even anything flatly disadvantageous. The mod would just weaponize the player's paranoia against themselves.
Be really nefarious as to take full advantage of the insane adjustability that Minecraft has with all its internal options, gamerules and mechanics as well as use the player's acquaintance of the game against them. It should be a horror idea that could only work within Minecraft.
So here's the idea I got from all of this (mind you, I have no idea if a mod like this already exists):
Every in-game day there's a 5% chance (3% if you slept with a bed) for an event to occur from this mod. This chance is fixed and never changes. When an event occurs, its chosen randomly from a very exhaustive list of different events and (depending on what type of event it is) will either occur once or persist until the next event. The likelihood of every event is identical. So this system for pulling them is entirely static and random. Additionally, the chance is rolled again whenever an event occurs. Meaning there's an incredibly low chance for you to experience two or more events in the same day.
So what do these events do? Well, they're designed to mess with the player in the most subtle ways possible. Often specifically targeting their memory, understanding of game mechanics and overall familiarity with Minecraft. The intended effect is to give the player a creeping sense of powerlessness in a sandbox game that they are otherwise completely in control over. Some possible events could be:
Hearing a sound effect in the distance from a source that isn't real.
Having an item currently in a chest/furnace change its amount or position.
Replacing a current painting sprite with another one of the same size.
Having a door/trapdoor be activated (i.e. opened if it was closed and closed if it was opened).
Skipping a full day from sleeping rather than just the night.
Having a specific gamerule temporarily change from its default value until the player triggers it (with minor adjustments to make it less apparent. For example still having the player drop their inventory upon death when keepInventory is toggled on but having the items despawn near instantly unless another player was nearby).
Having a tamed/trusting mob despawn (but only if the player had not interacted with them or been near them for a while).
Surviving otherwise fatal damage or dying from otherwise near-fatal damage.
Randomly changing the difficulty or local difficulty (without it being visible in the options or the debug screen).
Randomly changing slime chunks.
Randomly changing the moon phase.
The list goes on.
These are not notable events but that's the point. The intended effect is to confuse the player and make them doubt themselves without ever thinking that a mod is responsible. To make things even more nefarious, you could have this mod be disguised as a typical QoL mod and sneak it into modpacks to really mess with people.
This is the kind of horror that I think suits Minecraft best. Not the loud, overt, in-your-face kind of horror. But the kind that has you slowly begin to doubt yourself and the world around you. No escalation, no climax, no resolution. Just you left alone to consume yourself out of your own paranoia.

little snapshots of a mod i have been working on for a few days, cenozoicraft, understandably based around adding cenozoic animals to the minecraft world along with neolithic tools. its heavily based around hunting and utilizing animal parts. most of what is here is tamable and rideable with fun little taming mechanics, so dont expect to be able to waltz up to a smilodon. more to come soon
#there are a few effects i havent shown here besides from the ''hunters vision'' in the first one. still a prototype but the general idea#anyways i am pretty proud of what i have accomplished so far. everything here has and will have unique mechanics and ai. i am excited#on the bucketlist: mammoths! finishing up the mammoth steppe and arctic biomes. enchantments that assist in hunting#predator ai needs some work. neanderthals are on the list as well. several sets of armor and curios are planned#and of course many#many animals#and many decorative blocks#minecraft#blockbench#mcreator#modded minecraft#cenozoic#paleo#paleoart#paleontology#neolithic#cenozoicraft#rorys art

Been playing Control, anyway uhhh a Minecraft mod that adds anomalous objects would be pretty cool, either as unique entities or literally just regular items that float, have an aura and maybe throw projectiles. And like you can build storage rooms for them and stuff. And maybe eventually get abilites if you Do A Thing with them.

Minecraft feels like it doesn’t know what to do for big updates any more so they’re doing like small miscellaneous updates collected together. I wish they’d move on from trying to give them a theme bc I feel like that’s just confusing.
One thing I wish they’d do is do updates from time to time and go back and add pieces to old update. Like maybe add more fish or tree types.
Specifically what made me have this thought is that I’d love if they’d add more to the geodes. Like the amethysts are lovely but I’d love if there was a whole range of crystals to find in geodes!! I feel like that’s along the line of the archaeological stuff they’ve done recently! Digging into the earth for history and stuff!
Also if they ever do a forest update I’d freak out. I’d love if they revamped their nature bc I feel like that part of the over world specifically has been the same since the beginning era of minecraft. Like ocean, nether, caves, villages, NOW FOREST. And end.
Feels like natural progression of their universe growing! And I like feeling like the updates can have a “story” like aspect to me. Especially bc worldbuilding. Favorite idea when it comes to minecraft lore
#mineblr#Minecraft#Minecraft game development#Minecraft updates#minecraft lore#minecraft worldbuilding#minecraft caves#minecraft crystals#ROCKS ROCKS AND MORE ROCKS#like if they could add to the andesite granite diorite thing too with like limestone and other minerals#MINERAL ROCK UPDATE#GEOLOGY UPDATE#they could add like volcanic and igneous rocks to the nether??? l#I like this idea very very much#minecraft and game development are my special interests#and worldbuilding but that’s like a part of those and my storytelling spins#I feel like there’s some things in minecraft that people love to add thru mods that mods shouldn’t be necessary for#like more biomes! I get biome design or unique biomes but give plains and forests more flavor!#or forest animals! OR BUGS ADD BUGS#I get mods for dungeons or cute decoration but simple worldbuilding shouldn’t need mods#I’m getting frustrated with being dissatisfied with vanilla minecraft when all I want are more variability to blocks and biome expansion!#often times mods are too complex and add too much over vanilla minecraft when I like vanilla minecraft#it’s just after all this time especially with cave and cliffs added the nature feels behind and too simple

Brainstorming a potential mod that would focus on adding imaginary biomes, using our dye mod as a base!
The first concept, shown here, would be called the Bubblegum Tropics and would consist of two biomes: the Bubblegum Desert and the Bubblegum Marsh.
The bubblegum desert would be rolling dunes of bubblegum, with the occasional Chewiflowers (the white double tall flowers) and cyan weeds being spotted. Along with that, the Sugar Cactus could also be found here, growing grains of sugar on it's cyan surface. Occasional Bubble Vents can also be spotted blowing bubbles and adding particle effects to the biome.
The bubblegum marsh would be mainly the same on the surface, however the normal dunes of bubblegum would be interrupted every so often with chasms leading to a marshy, wet, mushroom-filled underground layer. You can find hanging gum here, as well as the glowing Gumfeeder Mushrooms and mycelium. When exposed to the hot sun's light, they will stop glowing and turn a vibrant pink.
At night and in dark overhangs, you will find the Gumwalker, a type of zombie variant. While walking slower than usual zombies, they will hit harder and apply the slowness effect for a short period of time.
What do you think? If you have any suggestions for more blocks/items, please let me know!!! I'd love to hear them :3
