In my experience as a fandom veteran of [redacted] years, hyperfixating on fictional people is a lot more fun a) as a curated experience that maximizes enjoyment and minimizes 'hate-watching' and ship wars and harassing franchise creators and trolling; and b) when the end-goal of every interaction, fandom contribution, etc. isn't mining for ~problematic elements in a piece of media and/or amongst those who 'like' something the 'wrong' way. I spent last summer mired in health issues from mold poisoning and the house renovations that followed, during which consciously escaping into beloved fictional worlds via Tumblr and AO3 kept me sane(r than I probably would have been otherwise) - knowing that they're there when I need/want to visit is probably going to factor into my survival of the current summer as well ngl. Fandom! Come for the .GIF sets, fanart, meta, memes, (civil) discourse, and friendships; weed out unnecessary drama as much as possible.

Case-in-point, I've been working my way through the original Uncanny X-Men comic run from the 1960s, and Charles Xavier's moral ambiguity is on dazzling, four-color, two-dimensional display, as well as some rather ~dated representations of disability and the era's gender roles. Indeed, those who balk at the Rogue / Magneto ship likely have even more ire for Professor X's old-school skirt-chasing, pipe-smoking incarnation, especially when he struggles not to make his mentor-student relationship with Jean Grey even more inappropriate than it already appears to be. In my personal life, I try to avoid relationship drama, behave ethically, and communicate clearly because, like daydreaming about gay ships, doing so enhances my quality of life. On the other hand, I want to roll around in the stank of all of my favorite fictional hot messes and their bad decisions and 'unhealthy' relationship dynamics and weird sex preferences, essentially for the same reason. Below are clues for an in-post skeevy Charles scavenger hunt for your continued enjoyment:

Charles and Jean icing out the other X-Men regarding Charles' impending death(/'death' - he gets revived almost as much as she does), much to Scott, Hank, Iceman, and Angel's discontent.

Tfw you're working on your Star Wars Fanart only to get distracted by an Ever After High AU for a movie from 2012. Anyways here's my OCS in a Pitch Perfect AU! (Plus some canon Fanart aka scene redraws for movies 1 & 2.)

In the AU, Arion takes the role of Beca (because they're basically the same character it's seriously uncanny whoops), while Rose and Anteros take the roles of Chloe and Jesse, respectively, with some minor alterations (they occasionally swap places as needed for the narrative cause Rose is much closer to Jesse personality-wise but I needed the final serenade to go like the original otherwise what even is the point so i couldn't just swap them permanently). Arion and Rose are in a mixed-gender group called the Fairy Tones, while Anteros ends up in an all-masc group called the Charming Chords. There's also a third rival group called the Twister Misters but they don't really do much. As for the drawings themselves, they're basically just redone scenes from the movies, like the aca-initiation featuring a Tempis cameo (it's fruit punch Rose swears), the scene from the radio station where Jesse (now Rose cause all three of them work there) uses the various album covers to try to make Beca laugh (and very nearly succeeds not that she'd ever admit it) (Anteros thinks it's funny but Arion thinks they've all gone absolutely batty), and of course the iconic Fist Pump from the end, featuring a bonus Kenni in the Benji role! (Tho actually I'm toying with Andre-as-Benji cause then he and Arion could be Besties™ and i could have an easy segue into an Andre and Rose B-plot. But I digress.)

As for the canon drawings, i just did some favorite scenes, like the picnic (he has juices pouches and Rocky! How could anyone not love him?!) And the audition (still one of the funniest scenes in the movie tbh as far as individual lines from characters go, excellent introduction of personalities). Also that part of the riff off from the sequel cause a) Anna Kendrick KILLED it with Before He Cheats, and b) i was mildly offended we didn't get a Live Slug Jesse Reaction shot because I'm absolutely certain his expression would've been hysterical (mostly in how... Not scared he'd look 😂)

Also also, i think these kids should meet; Beca and Arion could silently judge people together to their hearts content, while Jesse and Rose would immediately launch into French serenades with zero hesitation. (Also Beca is wearing a Trebles Hoodie cause i know what I'm about.)

Okey serious question here. How much do you actually believe that Oda ships Frobin? Like do you think he actually have like doodles/sketchs of them in a pairing kind of way? like for the strong world film riding the motorbug? Hey there anon! Thank you so much for your question and I hope I can answer it seriously enough. Also once more sorry for the late response. I felt like a question like that needs some research and that is what I did these last few days.

So... I think I'll start with the tl;dr because that way people can read that and ignore the rest.

So, long answer short: I 100% believe that Oda has one or more sketchbooks with drawings of his characters that are absolutely self-indulgent. I am 98% sure that he has drawn Franky and Robin in a romantic way at least once (and supported the ship). I am 80% sure he still is shipping FRobin.

Little disclaimer: I actually have no idea if any of this is true. I pull everything in my arguments out of my own experiences and knowledge and since I'm not a 46 year old Japanese Mangaka my perspective might be WAY OFF.

So, why do I think that Oda has a secret sketchbook?

Simple answer is that he is an artist. He is drawing a lot and no artist will publish everything. That can have multiple reasons like imposter syndrome or because the artist thinks it’s not good or interesting enough or they just forget. There are even more reasons I forget and every person has their own.

For Oda I can imagine two big reasons as to why he would keep secret sketchbooks.

First: He is a horndog. You can skip this part if you don’t want to read about it, to the second reason.

Anyway, we know thanks to answers in the SBS, the way he likes to draw big-breasted women and how some of his characters are classified as perverts that he can be considered one too.

Let me show you a few of a few lewd SBS questions he likes to answer in a funny way:

Nowadays I’m sure there is a focus on those lewder questions compared to the beginning because that is what 13 year old boys laugh about and we all know that is Oda's main demographic (of course).

I think a very good picture of that is given by Tekking101 in his breakdown video of SBS Volume 100.

“Let’s get diving into these questions (...) now, this is a huge moment. I mean, not many Manga manage to reach 100 Volumes, Okay? Now I know Oda usually starts these off with questions relating to boobs and things that don’t really… you know, aren’t really relevant but you know, this is a big celebration so we’re gonna dive right into it. I bet the most important things that we need to know about the One Piece Story are right here in these pages, okay? I printed them out. That is how important this is. So let’s start off, shall we? So, Oda is a man who likes beautiful women and who draws.

Coming to the conclusion that he will draw his own characters in suggestive poses, naked and even doing adult stuff is not hard.

Obviously he would not show these sketches just around. He would probably keep them in a secret sketchbook that he keeps at a safe location. Maybe his wife and some close friends know about it? Maybe it is his and only his little secret.

I don’t think it would be unlikely to learn about this years into the future, maybe the next generation of Anime Fans will hear about this.

And it would not be the first time that something like this happened.

Not that long ago the daughter of Osamu Tezuka - groundbreaking Mangaka, known for his works of “Astro Boy”, “Kimba the white lion” and many more - found his adult Furry art. Source; Japanese article;

It’s a fact that many Mangaka did indeed start their career with art of the more risque kind and/or as doujinshi artists.

So again, I have no doubt that Oda, a known pervert, has one or more secret sketchbooks with „the p0rnography“ in it. Is there only hot stuff in there? Not necessarily.

The second reason to keep a secret sketchbook would be to collect information in there, that could be considered canon but he is not willing to use it in the Manga. Maybe they are not important enough or will be used later.

What am I imagining here? Anything that could be considered too weird for the normal sketchbook but isn‘t too risque. Funny things that might still not be „appropriate.“

Like a sketch of the male Strawhat ding-dongs with the sizes beside it. All the lewd jokes the fans did about Luffy's stretching qualities? I’m sure Oda thought about them too and drew that in the past if he had the time and it made him laugh enough.

But also maybe there are scenes in there that never made it in the Manga. The Strawhats interacting with each other in their daily lives, ideas for colorspreads and maybe chapter-titles. Oda probably has noted/sketched down a lot of unofficial stuff somewhere.

Another example, even an artist like Oda himself would have needed to exercise drawing two people kissing. Why not use Characters he thinks that might work out together?

Why not Franky and Robin? I would imagine he sketched up a few panels of Franky and Robin having a romantic date, going shopping together in Dressrosa, having a conversation that we never got to see because it was too on the nose.

Which brings us to the second point of me being very sure that Oda had drawn FrankyXRobin at one point.

I’m sure in those sketchbooks there is at least one drawing of them doing anything couple-related together. Again it does not have to be downright nasty but it could be them holding hands, kissing or even just Robin leaning onto Franky while reading, like all those fanarts that exist out there.

It’s not hard to imagine. Even for other Characters I think that is possible

And there might even be proof for that idea. The sketch of the Strong World movie you also mentioned, anon. The one movie that can be considered canon is Strong World. It was basically written/directed by Oda. Shiki the antagonist had an appearance in the Manga.

This sketch is drawn by Oda. Robin is holding onto Franky.

Can it be read as romantic? Yes. Can it be read as Robin holding onto Franky because there is nothing else to hold onto? Also Yes. But couldn't she just have used her power to keep herself secured on the bike without holding onto Franky? WELL YES. Could Oda never have thought in these circles like I do right now? I hope he did not because I hate it and I don’t wish it upon him.

In the movie Robin is NOT holding onto Franky. Now the really interesting thing - that is neither proof pro nor anti FRobin - is that we can see the sketch provided by Oda as a “between the scenes”.

In the movie Strong World the old trio is collecting information at the Pirate assembly. The next time we see them they use the Batta GT-7000 to slowly approach the destroyed village, which had been ravaged by the animals, and start to look for their friends. No need to hold onto Franky and no need for Brook to lean back. They are looking around.

The sketch is clearly not the same scene as the one we see in the movie.

In conclusion the drawing is indeed a between the scenes drawing. And yes if there exists one, who is to say there aren’t more?

Talking about Animal-Bikes...

Is there any meaning about the fact that in the opening scene (that is part of the talked intro after the opening ‘We Go’ - a huge thanks to antiherofangirl, ccb0nnet, JFL_Estudios and Maems, over at twitter!) Franky and Robin build another grasshopper-based vehicle? Maybe not but I still feel like it’s quite a callback.

Where did the idea to put this in the beginning come from? a) an editor had the idea inspired by Strong World; b) maybe it’s another sketch that Oda provided.

Neither seems very far-fetched in my opinion.

So yes, I am very sure that Oda has drawn things that we would consider FRobin.

Now to the last point (the first being Oda having a secret sketchbook, the second me arguing that Oda might have drawn FRobin).

As I said in the beginning I’m very sure that at one point Oda did and kinda that he still does ship Franky and Robin. Because even though every Interaction of two characters can be depicted as romantic or platonic, Oda used ROMANTIC TROPES with Franky and Robin.

They have never kissed on screen but we had

and we can’t forget that Robin had answered Franky's invitation to ride on another animal-themed bike with a heart.

Those are things an author of Oda's level would not write or draw without being aware about how teasing this is. He has to be aware that every single line he draws will be analyzed to the end of the universe and back. People earn money by saying their opinion and interpretations about the Manga on Youtube.

These interactions are not something outlandish like “There was once an Anime Scene in which Robin was wearing something blue and exactly 28 episodes later Franky was wearing something violet and then 39 episodes later they both stood beside each other for exactly 69 seconds.”

Whenever I think about these facts, things that are not about interpreting but are factual, black ink on white paper but also about the little things, about how Frank and Robin help each other to become better, how they support each other… I want to say YES! ODA IS 100% on board! While in reality I’m 80% sure and 20% of me is wondering if I’m not actually analyzing too much into it. If maybe he really is abandoning ship. Maybe I will become the person who will curse his name and throw my Mangas and fanfictions in an active volcano?

I don’t know and it’s impossible to say what is going to happen.

When he turned 17 he got his first girlfriend. They loved each other and got along extremely well, he would get her whatever she wanted and take her on dates every week, they were happy...or so he thought. After about a year of the two being together he found out she was cheating on him by finding her making out with a nother boy. This devastated him and his ex girlfriend laughed at him, called him stupid for believing she loved him...she called him the name he dreaded..."monkey". He snapped. He got physical trying to attack her but her new man came in and protected her ending up getting stabbed by Andrew. After he realized what he did he called 911 and turned himself in. Luckily the knife didn't go in too deep and the boy survived. Andrew got 6 months of juvie and 3 months in a mental hospital he finished school online.

2 years later after countless failed relationships, women who where just with him for his money, hes with a new person, a guy. again they where happy, did everything he wanted, took him to places. One week Andrew went on a trip with his family, his boyfriend was allowed to stay at Andrew's families house as long as he kept watch and took care of the dogs and he took the offer. While on the trip he found his boyfriend post on Instagram about having a friend over, he didn't think much of it, he was alone with the maids. Andrew came home early that week to surprise his boyfriend to find a car parked outside. Again he thought he was hanging out with a friend so he shrugged and went inside. Thats when he saw his boyfriend with a other man being very intimate on the couch. When his boyfriend saw Andrew he said "you weren't supposed to be back till sunday!"

Andrew felt the anger build up as he yelled at him, this turned into a fight with his new ex and his new mister. Thats when his ex yelled that he "was only with him for the money" and "no one would love a monkey like him" ....Andrew snapped once again. He grabbed the fire poker from the fireplace attacking the man his ex cheated on him with in the stomach this time he didn't snap out of it. He yanked it out the man stabbing him again in the stomach with a chuckle looking over at his ex the man falling to the ground bleeding out.

His ex goes to run but Andrew was taller and stronger as he tackled him to the ground the two fought each other as Andrew grabbed his throat choking him "I gave you everything, and this is how you repay me** Andrew said his grip growing tighter his ex gasping for air but Andrew did not let go "damn you! Damn you all!" He said as he slammed punched him till he went still. Andrew got up chuckling and swaying looking at his work before it all sinked in and he leaned on the wall looking over his work...he has been damaged to much...there was nothing left of him other than a "shattered heart"

How he kills/technique

Ok so they way he kills is he find couples and will stalk them for 2 weeks if the couple are faithful to each other. So no cheating or going to clubs uk he will leave them be, but once he finds a couple and let's say the guy is cheating. He will kidnap both on them and make the cheater watch him kill their partner. The whole time telling the cheater that their partners death was their fault. Then he will either do 1 of two things A. Kill the cheater but in a very slow and painful way or B. Leave the cheater tied up in front of their partners dead body until they are found or die from other things.

After every kill he carves a heart into every victims chest

sometimes there is a C. Option and a D.

C. Option if the victims are 25-20 he will let them both live but just put them through hell

D. Of they are 19-16 he will stalk and take pictures if the cheater and send them to the partner to prove they are cheating and leave scary notes for the cheater till they come clean or break up with their side person

WIP Wednesday 28 Oct  2020

I had a ridiculously productive weekend that is spilling over into this week.  Many thanks to whoever bribed/poked at my Muse!

I FINALLY finished   (It All Started With) A Night at the Nat  (aka WinterIron/WinterHawk/WinterIronHawk Supernatural AU with werewolf!Bucky and fae!Tony & Clint)!  Chapter 15 comes in at a whopping 2612 words including some lovely threesome smut with Clint in the middle. It needs a bit of polishing but is on deck to be posted on Friday.  I started this fic back in April, thanks to the TSB Discord party - it's been quite a ride and I am so thankful to those of you who have joined me on the journey! 

Now that this fic is off my plate, the plan is to focus on my @buckybarnesbingo​, @starkbucksbingo​ and  @pepperonybingo​ cards  since those three  events end in December.

Pepperony Bingo

The three WIPs here below will earn  me a bingo  down the B column once I get  them done & posted!  .

* Stolen Kisses --  also (belatedly) fills a prompt from @Rebelmeg - “You don't know what you do to me, do you?”  and TSB  Writing Format: Past Tense square (which TBH, 90% of my fics qualify for!)     It's sitting at 712 words but needs some polishing - I will probably post it next week. Current Last Line:   “I believe you are, Mister Stark.”

* NSFW: Exhibitionism -- also fills TSB Kink: Lingerie &  is sitting at 1591 words. It  may also be posted  next week, if I can get it done/edited.   Current Last Line: She swung slowly around the pole,  the skirt hiking up to show the top of a sheer black stocking and a blue garter; she’d dispensed with the garter belt, as it would spoil the lines of the dress.

* The Avengers -- this fill  (which also crosses over with my TSB Canon Compliant square) is still sitting at  377 words at the moment. Current Last Line:  Even more shocking was the most recent discovery: that not only had Captain America’s final resting place finally been located;  but he’d survived the crash and hibernated through the decades.

The  smutty Pepperony fic based on my  NSFW: Mutual Masturbation square and a prompt courtesy of @rebelmeg: “Should I go first or … do you want to go?” is still mostly just in my head (only 64 words on the page) so may or may not make it in time for the end of the event.  (sorry, hon!) Current Last Line:  She was playing the role of PA admirably during Pepper’s two-week visit to the Australian SI headquarters, juggling a jam-packed schedule that included visits to far-flung sites as well as innumerable meetings with vendor reps as well as SI executives.

* Rescue Mission -- I think I can set the next installment of Mirror Images (Not Quite His Own) [aka Quantum Leap-ish WinterIron multiverse shenanigans)   in the  Avengers Assemble cartoon universe I but I need to rewatch a couple of episodes to make sure it will work.  If you're a AA fan who's willing to help me with brainstorming and/or beta'ing - please let me know!  This could also qualify for the BBB Bucky/Tony or Free Square.  

* Free Square:   I have a fun fancraft idea that would fill this, along with the Steve/Bucky square on my Bucky Barnes Bingo square and TSB Captain America square -- plus be surprise fanart for one of my mutuals!

* Free Square  The sequel/continuation of Fated to Telling Only Lies (young!Tony with the Soldier as his bodyguard, with Bucky slowly surfacing/taking control) is still  sitting at  632 words as I've gotten distracted by other shiny ideas.   I may use this for my TSB Resolve square as well.  Current Last Line:  He focused on the technology aspects of his prosthetic, as those were sure to catch Tony’s interest.

* Strength Kink - no particular ideas, but a smutty drabble/ficlet  of  250+ words  might fit the bill here. Feel free to send prompts or requests!  ;^)   

With everything above going on, the following WIPs are temporarily on hold:

The eventually smutty sequel for   Try (Tri) Again   with  Tony and Eddie|Venom is also at a momentary standstill at 851 words but I plan on using it towards my TSB WTF square…. :^D Current Last Line: “But now, well … V’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”  

I’m also poking at something for my TSB Writing Format: Outsider POV square featuring Maria Hill and her thoughts on Tony and Steve (tho I haven’t decided if it will go Stony or not).  It’s also barely started at  122 words. Current Last Line:    “To be honest, I thought she got the job because she was Captain America’s girl, but boy, did she prove me wrong!”

I still want to take a look at all the published WIPs I have out there –  including Decision at Sundown (IronHusbands Western AU with mistaken identity smut) – and figure out which ones I still have a spark for and which ones to call it quits on. :^/  Encouraging nudges would be appreciated.

On other creative fronts,   The @marveltrumpshate charity auction was a ringing success! I raised $85 across 3 auctions (my 2 auctions, plus a second-place bidder)   I'll be making 5 figures (and 3 props: -- Ragnarok!Thor & Bruce  (prop TBD) -- Captain Marvel and Minn-Erva  (prop - Minn-Erva's rifle or Goose) -- TFaWS Bucky  (prop = Alpine)
