Worthy additions:

-the pace is a bit slow, like a little TOO SLOW you kind of feel the need to drag the plot on like yeah atmosphere and cool music and let's do a 360 of the scenary ruins cool stuff SURE but also A LITTLE MORE ACTION AND ACTUAL PLOT PLEASEEE that would be cool (at least it doesn't feel like doing the main quest in a video game I'M LOOKING AT YOU MANDALORIAN)

-i'm gonna say it IT FEELS STAR WARS like YES this has that sw feel not like the mando this is more towards the vibe of the movies (not a lot but enought that i could sense it) but also more dark kind of??? And more dramatic like PAHH prolonged shot of a ch just looking around PAAHH lightsaber fight PAHHH more drama just in the music and someone walking towards something PAHHH just a full minute or 2 of sabine on her speeder bike with rock music in the background... it feels more modern in a way?? More minimalistic i dare say

So I’ve started watching the Legion (I’m two episodes in) and I have so many questions and feels and ill-advised ideas for (cherik) fics that will never see the light of day

Like I get it that continuity was probably very much Not An Issue anyone cared for, but what’s the supposed timeline for the series? Or, well, not supposed but possible? I take it had it happened in the alternate xmen verse, it probably had to happen before the DOFP, when the mutants went pretty much public, which made me think - what if it didn’t? As in, what if it’s happening in the ‘original’ timeline, where Mistique killed Trask, and the mutants weren’t publicly known until later.

Had that been the case, imagine how the events of DOFP could’ve changed David’s life (if he hadn’t been admitted to the Clockworks yet).

Only two episodes in and already I’m overcome with the need for a cherik AU with Charles and Erik finding their sons and reconciling with them OH WELL.

Mirabel is Iron Man because she doesn't have superpowers but she's really creative and brave and i think she would be great with tech

Me: I used to think it was strange that Oscar Wilde's Salomé, one of the most famous plays revolving around a "femme fatale," is full of richly detailed physical descriptions of things and people, yet has hardly any physical description of Salomé herself beyond the generic "beautiful."

My mom: Clearly it enhances her mistique. It leaves readers free to imagine what she looks like and lets them imagine her with whatever qualities they personally find the most beautiful and alluring.

Me: And yet the play does include so many loving, luxuriant descriptions of the manly beauty of Iokanaan (John the Baptist): his slenderness, the whiteness of his skin, the length and blackness of his hair, and the redness of his lips, all described by Salomé in the richest poetic detail! I wondered why, but then it dawned on me. Oscar Wilde.

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7

Review

Alright, so far in Chapter 2, Season 7 of Fortnite has been interesting but confusing. Only reason I say this is because every Season I’ve played made no sense to the primary storyline that’s being tried to tell to the players who enjoy the game. Previous Seasons 4, 5, and 6 entailed this;

Season 4 of Chapter 2 on Fortnite included a All Marvel themed battle pass with Tony Stark/Iron Man, Thor, Mistique, Groot, Doctor Doom, Wolverine, She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, and X-Men member Storm. The main threat in this storyline is to stop the Devourer of Worlds Galactus from destroying the World of Fortnite and stopping him from taking the Zero Point,

Ever since Galactus was stopped the Zero Point uprooted from the Authority, it became highly unstable with now reality at Stake, thanks a lot Galactus. Now Agent Jones is now gathering infamous bounty hunters across from all realities to stop those to escape the loop. Guest Stars The Mandalorian from Disney+ series with The Child and Secret Battle Pass skin Predator. Crazy crossovers included The Walking Dead (Daryl Dixon & Michonne), Ellen Ripley & Xenomorph (from Aliens), Master Chief (from Halo), Kratos from God Of War, and etc.

During Live Event transitioning to Season 6 with Jones betraying the Agency he was working for and teaming up with the Seven, Him & The Foundation made a deal before dealing with the Zero Point problem, unable to stabilize it The Foundation has sustain it trapping himself inside the Zero Point creating the Spire. Chapter 2 - Season 6 Primal was an interesting Season adding on new features with Animals and brand new character crossovers with Lara Croft & Raven from Teen Titans.

Now here we are Season 7 after Raz obtained a Spire Artifact, he ended up attracting unwanted attention from an alien race known as The Last Reality. UFOs began to abduct loopers and send them to different areas of the island. Mari, a woman who is studying aliens, hosts a radio show on them titled "Hot Saucers." Later, the aliens started a full scale abduction against the citizens of Apollo, with them successfully infiltrating the Imagined Order and using their technology to rip the Spire out of the map. The location of the zero point is unknown but The Foundation was seen falling into the ocean, possibly being rifted to another reality.

Epic Games just recently confirmed that the live event Skyfire being launched in 2 days from now from detonating the bombs inside the Alien Mothership. Now the Live Event with the Rift Tour with Ariana Grande it was fantastic hands down loved every bit of it, but my favorite part was when they showed previous seasons it was very interesting especially showing “Kevin the Cube.” Well the Zero Point is gone so now I can’t wait to do an update on the upcoming Live Event.

I see shit on Tumblr about people hoping for a revolution in the US - heads falling, that sort of thing.

Those people don’t understand revolutions.

Mind you, I’m not saying having a revolution would be all bad, but that there seems to be some sort of mistique about it. Bloody revolution. Things change. The other side takes over and starts anew. Or something.

Listen, there are two types of revolutions: successful ones and unsuccessful ones.

Let’s start from the first issue: it’s had to have a successful revolution. Unless you have a coup in which a bunch of people conspire very successfully to bring down a regime and replace it with an entirely different one, you need numbers and commitment. 

I come from Romania, which was a communist state for a few decades. Do you think the people wanted to be communists? Not particularly. Those who were “rich” or “educated” were the first to be oppressed. You came from nobility? Great, now your situation is reversed. You had a family shop? That made you akin to nobility, and your situation sucked. All businesses great and small were confiscated. Peasants got their livestock and lands confiscated. Everything was now owned commonly. I mean, unless you were living in absolute poverty, you now had it worse. 

You’d think communists would have been overthrown immediately, but the new regime brought down the opposition. No good conspiracy happened to remove communists, and mass upheavals just didn’t happen. Most people had something to lose, whether that was their job (now given or withheld by the state), opportunities for their family, their freedom... They kept thinking communism would eventually fail and go away, but they didn’t revolt themselves. They waited for someone to do it.

It took the entire population nearly starving for years for that big revolution that did away with communism to happen. In order for widespread mobilization to happen, the alternative needs to be worse. Righteousness is often not enough to fuel mass upheavals; despair is a more common motivator.

And after you have a successful revolution, it’s not smooth sailing. I see the French revolution mentioned often. Do you remember what great, memorable wars happened right after it? The Napoleonic wars. After getting rid of their king and becoming a republic for about 10 years, France slid into authoritarianism and ended up with an emperor.

Did things improve for the French? In the grand scheme of things, yes. Did they go from oppressed under an absolutist monarchy to democracy and freedom? Mmmnope.

Things change abruptly, which means there’s a lot of flailing about. The people who are likely to take power are those who aim for power. And in the absence of strong institutions it’s hard to tell what evils will grow. 

Rocking the system sounds like a lot of fun and it’s definitely satisfying to imagine yourself tear down society and build it anew, better, but you don’t know exactly who’ll be building it, and the road will be bumpy. The fantasy of the thing and the thing in itself are different.

I placed Hyungwon first not because I think he’s a fuckboy who wants to toy with you, but because he’d probably either frequentlyforget to text you back or just kinda assume the conversation had reached a natural stopping point. It would probably be somewhat naiveon his part but could end up coming across as hella cold.

I.M would probably want to tease you a little - let’s face it - and I imagine he’d always want to be perceived as hard-to-get, super busy and important or difficult to get a hold of. He’s gotta upkeep that mistique, you know. He wouldn’t want to come across as too keen, so there might be times where he reads your messages and doesn’t respond for a while. he probably has to force himself to not reply.

Kihyun would probably almost always reply to you as it’s the polite and respectful thing to do, but I also think he’s the member most likely to deliberately just stop texting you if he doesn’t know how to respond or your messages are annoying him.

Shownu and Jooheon would always reply to you as long as they had time to. If they didn’t have much to spare, you might go a long time without a reply but they will always eventually text back. Probably in a very apologetic way, too.

Minhyuk and Wonho are last, but for different reasons. Minhyuk is just so chatty and outgoing and exuberant, I can’t see him missing out on a conversation, especially if it’s with someone he’s into. 

If Wonho has gone to the extent of texting you intimately or really deeply/regularly, then he’s going to probably feel a type of way about you that means he won’t ever ignore you or forget to message back. You’re probably all he can think about, anyway. He’d take lessons in speed texting just to get back to you promptly.

More delinquent AU tidbits Ive thought about

There is a bilboard featuring Endeavour on Shouto’s route to school. This bilboard starts mysteriously being vandilized overnight, every single time they replace it it just gets painted over again. Sometimes with general crude insults towards Endeavour, but often with flowers, geometric designs and colourful artwork acompanied by cheerful slogans. At one point it featured a cartoon All Might giving a thumbs up and Encouraging passers-by to “Do your Best!” 

Izuku walks Shouto to and from school whenever he has the opportunity to, the vandalism started around the same time he started doing this. These two events are probably unrelated.

Izuku struggling not to stutter or blush when Shouto smiles and compliments the bilboard’s updated look is definitely unrelated.

One of the first times Izuku walked Shouto to the gates of UA Bakugou caught sight of him and demanded to know what the fuck he was doing there. Izuku informed him it was none of his business, bid Shouto a fond farewell and wandered off. In response Bakugou started grilling Shouto on why he was hanging around a washed up good for nothing idiot criminal.

Shouto’s reply was also “none of your business”

This was hot gossip in class 1-A for weeks.

Several people were very concerned about Shouto’s potential criminal boyfriend, and are not shy about expressing those concerns.

Someone: Don’t you think he might be a bad influence on you? Shouto, thinking about how Izuku encouraged him to use his full power and be the best hero he can be, helped him reconnect with his mother and just generally is a beacon of light and kindness in his life: No.

If/When Izuku eventually gets OfA starts on the long path towards heroics, he admits all his doubts to Todoroki about being a hero and how he gave up on it so long ago because it never seemed like a possibilty and he’s not sure he deserves this chance and if he can even fight villains when he kind of knows what it feels like to be on the other side of that. Shouto very matter of fact tells him that Izuku has already saved him just with his words, and he can’t imagine anyone better suited to being a hero. 

It’s very sappy and they promise to always help each other be better heroes.

After the Stain incident Iida has a lot to say about how he was misguided to prejudge Izuku and that he seems like an upstanding young man and a very devoted boyfriend.

Part 2, Breakfast time

Alex Hughes sat down at the end of the Ravenclaw table, waiting eagerly for his friends from different houses to arrive. He'd known them for few years already and truth to be told, he felt quite homey in the group that let him drift freely as he pleased. He took out his own version of the charmed parchament and scribbled down a small message with ball pen.

He didn't have to wait for long until the others started to answer him with the normal "Okay!" and "Be right there" along with one "On my way". His eyes opened wide when one cursive handwriting appeared there again after so long time.

He remembered the older male quite well, especially his late night habits that included coffee so strong that no mortal should be able to drink it. The unhealthy routine, staying up late studying and reading, only to realise that the sun was already rising. The workaholic, who had warned him not to become like him for it would wear him out.

As he kept glancing left and right, he'd see how the older two walked into the great hall and took their seats, Sly talking excitedly to Raven about something while the man seemed to be exhausted. Had he stayed up all night..?

Aven was brought back from his musings by familiar figures sitting down around him. Smiling to the four, he started to eat while going through the lineup of the classes for the day.

Camel "Puff" Windorf looked towards the teacher's table from the corner of his vision, silently wondering if he should walk over to talk to them. Sure, he knew Sly and had talked with her in multiple occasions, but the man next to her... He had to be Raven. Frankly speaking, he had stayed away from the older student's path when he had joined the odd group. But he had instantly zoned on Raven and his odd way of writing. It felt... Off. He had observed the man talked with him, tried to copy his writing style, but he hadn't figured out what he was seeing.

"So.. Raven is... Different from what I imagined", he mumbled as he brought a cup of tea to his lips. Huff chuckled a little as they poured themselves more juice, honestly Raven's appearance wasn't a surprise for them, not after the fated meeting during that one night near kitchen. The Hufflepuff hummed and closed their eyes.

The lights had been dimmed long ago as most of the students had gone to sleep already. A shadow slid through the corridors with a cause, to get to the kitchen and hoard some food.

Nix Mistique, the Hufflepuff of their prime, had always wanted to help others, but coming from the background like theirs, it could prove to be a challenge. So far they could only smuggle food and blankets from the school to those who needed it the most in the Hogsmead, as "advanced" as the wizarding world was, homelessness was no stranger to them either.

While in thought, the young Hufflepuff felt that they bumped on someone. Horrified of the possibility of being caught by one of the professors or Filch, Nix turned around.

Dark eyes met with steady stare of another pair of unidentified colour. Expressionless pale face of unknown person kept staring at them and Nix shifted uncomfortably. The stare was piercing, that was sure, it kept looking through the layers and layers of self consciousness, hidden meanings and masks, truth to be told they felt... Naked under that stare. It was as if everything in them was visible to those eyes, there was no place to hide, no secrets, nothing.

The ghostlike person with brown hair averted their eyes, closing them, reopened giving them a gaze. Understanding.

The bo-gir-person turned around, shifting a little before resuming to walk towards the kitchen, too.

"You have kind eyes."

"Huff? Huff! You there?" Huff blinked coming back from their lane of memories to the great hall amongst their friends.

"Hmm?"

"Doesn't he look very different from what you imagined? Raven?" Huff looked at the younger duo of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw who kept glancing at the teacher's table with confusement and interest. They turned to look at the male in question, who lifted his head to look at them. The look in them, his eyes, hadn't changed at all, that same old soul piercing gaze with soft and understanding look in them.

Huff was the first one to turn away, they had a breakfast to be finished. Cup of juice was lifted in that silent moment that appeared to last longer than a life time. Nix smiled.

Astral & Electrico vs Coyote & Akuma

Who’s who?

Astral in gold and Electrico in white, Coyote in brown/topless Akuma in black.

How’s the match?

Very good, this is more than a pleasant opener with all four guys putting on a good show. It’s nice to see Coyote and Akuma even if Raziel/Cancerbero have been doing stellar lately in this role. Highlight of the match fo me has to be when Astral sends Akuma off the ramp with a springboard into a rana. Really stealler action that was above and beyond what the opener needs to be, even if it was a little short on time. 

Microman, Gallito & Micro Angel vs Perico Zakarias, Chamuel & Mije

Who’s who?

Microman in red, Gallito looking like a chicken and Angel maskless.

Perico looking like a bird, Chamuel in a clown get-up and Mije looking like a skeleton of some sort. 

How’s the match?

Good, this is a fun mini match. It’s not much to write home about, but it is a mini’s match featuring the mascot sized guys instead of just the small normal athletes. Microman is a treat as always and looks like the star, which is often the case when he is featured in these attraction matches.

Estrellita, Mistique, Princesa Sugehit, Marcela & Maligna vs Dalys, Amapola, Reyna Isis, Seductora & La Metalica Torneo Cibernetico from Amazonas

Who’s who?

Estrellita in purple maskless with blonde hair, Mistique in black/red, Sugehit in a silver 1 piece, Marcela in gold and Maligna in purple with mask and horns.

Dalys in a white 2 piece, Amapola in all black. Reyna Isis in red wearing an Arkangel tribute mask, Seductora in green/red and Metallica in Zebra print with a black shirt on. 

How’s the match?

Very good, while everyone is fairly doom and gloom about the state of the luchadora division right now, I think this match does a very good job of showing what the women in the division can do when given a match with some more meaning than a trios match featuring women who always face off. New luchadora Mistique had a good showing. Here’s hoping she gets more chances in the future to show what she can do, like she did here. The match was won by Sugehit who took the chance to challenge Dalys for her belt. I wish they would have called this the Copa Natalia Vázquez, hopefully they do another one this year. Since it seems like a great way to honor Natalia.  

Felino vs Blue Panther

Who’s who?

Felino in orange/black and Blue Panther in blue/white. 

How’s the match?

Good, if a little too short for my tastes. Felino/Blue Panther pair very well, but they weren’t given as much time as you’d hope for two talents of his caliber. The 1st fall really feeling like the most substantial before the 2nd ends in a flash and the 3rd ends almost as quickly if you don’t count the bits where they briefly battle on the outside amongst the crowd. Someone threw a drink at Blue Panther and hopefully that guy no only got booted, but banned as that’s no way to treat the talent. I can’t imagine what that person must have been thinking.

Los Guerrero Laguneros (Ultimo Guerrero, Gran Guerrero & Euforia) vs. Atlantis, Volador Jr. & Valiente

Who’s who?

Los Guerreros in green black, Euforia the biggest with Ultimo being maskless.

Atlantis in his iconic white mask, Volador Jr. in a black shirt and Valiente in his silver looking gear and mask. 

How’s the match?

Very good, Atlantis looks as impressive here as he has since coming back from injury. Los Guerreros also do a great job of doing team maneuvers like they have been doing lately in the main event of the Tuesday shows. They took the win here, which only furthers my stance that Euforia/Gran look to be aiming for those tag belts held by Valiente and Volador Jr. I could see that happening in the coming weeks, but it could take longer than that.  

Rush & Mistico (With father Bestia del Ring) vs. Sanson & Cuatrero (With father Cien Caras)

Who’s who?

Rush maskless and Mistico in all white.

Sanson/Cuatrero in similar gear, with Cuatrero having horseshoes on his gear.

How’s the match?

Great, we don’t get to see Rush team with either of his brothers as much as I’d like. I get why because Rush is an asshole and for the most part his brothers are good guys. Though both of them have shown heel tendencies when fighting Caristico in recent weeks. Still, it’s nice to see it when we do like here. The Munoz family vs Dinamitas seems like a feud we will be getting for years to come and if all the matches are as fun as this one, bring it on. It’s odd to see a tag match main event, but it’s a welcome change of pace. I think both fathers could have done more, but they did enough and I’d rather have them do too little than too much and becoming the focus of a match about their sons.
