SPOILERS FOR THE MANGA AND POSSIBLY FOR FUTURE FANFIC

Mitsukou (my own) hospital au! :

I like the idea of au, where Kou is a young trainee nurse, and Mitsuba is a patient who got to the hospital after an accident and injured his legs (instead of his neck, as in the canon). And when Mitsuba experiences an accident, he breaks down mentally, and is constantly subjected to panic attacks and flashbacks. Kou, in turn, studies at the Faculty of Biology at the university, and interns in the city hospital in the summer, where he gets acquainted with Mitsuba, as with "the patient on whom Kou will specialize all his internship in the department of traumatology". Mitsu ignores any attempts by Kou to get closer to the patient, whose physical and mental health will have to be monitored for three months (not without the help of elders, of course), which worries Kou, but he does not give up, trying to find a common language with him, and understand why Sosuke is so taciturn. And maybe one day, Kou will see flashbacks with his own eyes, and then Mitsuba's panic attack, and then a turning point will occur in his attitude to the nipple as a "Quiet and sad patient", which will explain to him everything that interested him before. But Kou didn't ask another patient (even if he could have done it), didn't call other doctors after leaving the ward, and wasn't afraid of Mitsuba's behavior (well, maybe just a little bit), but tried to calm him down. And yes, he knew that comforting words like "calm down" or "relax" would not help, so he took all the measures he could take while being in the same room with a panicked person, and Kou's instructions really helped. After this incident, Mitsuba also began to look at Kou not only as a medical staff who meant nothing to him, but also as a person who helped him at the moment of his greatest vulnerability, and reacted much more calmly (at least from the outside) than anyone before. Their relationship is starting to improve, and Kou is incredibly happy about it, even though he achieved it in a rather painful way, but Kou promises that he will try to do everything he can to minimize Mitsuba's panic attacks.These three months will be a really unusual experience for each of these two.

so i decided to tell bard ai to write about mitsuba and kou going on an aquarium date together and it was actually so cute

story below:

"Mitsuba and Kou were both nervous for their aquarium date. They had been friends for a long time, but they had recently started to develop feelings for each other. They didn't know how the other felt, but they were both excited to find out.

Mitsuba arrived at the aquarium first. He bought tickets for both of them and then waited for Kou to arrive. When Kou finally arrived, Mitsuba was relieved to see that he was also nervous.

They entered the aquarium and were immediately greeted by the sight of thousands of fish swimming in tanks all around them. They spent the next few hours exploring the aquarium, looking at all the different exhibits. They saw sharks, stingrays, fish of all colors and sizes, and even a giant octopus.

As they walked through the aquarium, they talked and laughed. They talked about their lives, their dreams, and their hopes for the future. They also talked about their feelings for each other. They admitted that they had been attracted to each other for a long time, but they were both too afraid to say anything.

By the time they left the aquarium, it was late. They were both tired, but they were also happy. They had had a great time and they had gotten to know each other better. They also knew that they had feelings for each other and that they wanted to see each other again.

As they walked to Kou's car (HE CAN DRIVE??), Mitsuba took Kou's hand. Kou smiled and squeezed Mitsuba's hand. They got in the car and drove home.

When they got to Kou's house, Mitsuba leaned over and kissed Kou. Kou kissed him back. They kissed for a long time.

When they finally pulled away, they were both smiling. They knew that they had found something special.

'I had a really great time,' Mitsuba said.

'Me too,' Kou said. 'I can't wait to do it again.'

They kissed one more time and then Mitsuba got out of the car. He waved goodbye to Kou as he drove away.

Mitsuba walked home, feeling happy and content. He knew that he had found someone special. He couldn't wait to see Kou again."

Chapter 101, probably

While everyone else was busy preparing for the upcoming cultural festival, Kou could not rest. He was feeling like his time with Mitsuba was slipping away. He made a promise to turn Mitsuba into human; yet he was nowhere closer to its completion. He had no plan, and no idea how to go about it.

Normally, he would ask Teru what to do. But not in this case. Teru was terrible at treating ghosts, and if he know about a carnivorous supernatural, who also happens to be a school mystery? Quick exorcism would be his solution.

Not gonna happen.

Yokoo and Satou would be of no help. Hanako could know a thing or two about his problem, but Kou could not bring himself to bother him and senpai when Yashiro was obsessing over setting up a perfect date with the limited time they had remaining.

Time. Time? That's it! Of course!

The rumor of the 1st school mystery was that there was a huge clock hidden somewhere in the school that lets you control time. Kou had no idea where it was, but he knew someone who did. Akane Aoi, the vice president of school council and a friend of his brother.

"Sorry for intrusion," Kou said as he entered the school council room. "Can I have a bit of your time?" Akane was alone in the room, with Teru nowhere to be seen.

Kou did not know about Teru's and Akane's competition, and that Teru required Akane to help Kou with any request he comes forward with, and do it to his best ability.

"What is it?"

"I was wondering... if you could stop time for a week or two." He just needed more time to come up with a better plan.

"No can do. I can only stop time for 15 minutes a day. And I've already spent 5 of them for an emergency."

"What about... can you lead me to the clock, so I can travel back in time and fix something in the past?"

"Fix what exactly?"

"It's about a friend of mine, who died in an accident. I want to save him."

Akane sighed. "That's not how time travel works. The past is fixed. It already happened. No matter what you do, you can only relive the past as it was, in every excruciating detail. Is that what you want?"

Grinding of brakes, loud beep, and blodied body.

No, this could not be it.

"Really?"

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"What about the future? Can the future be changed?"

"It depends," Akane made a gesture to adjust his glasses, except he did not have the glasses on. "When it comes to fate and things you are destined to do, this is fixed as well. You can try to avoid it or alter details, but what is bound to happen will happen. Small other things, like getting early or getting a different thing for breakfast? Sure, go for it."

Kou could see this. He remembered that time when he tried to change the circumstances of senpai's first kiss.

Yet something did not add up.

"What about Hanako? He is said to have changed his fate."

"By cutting it short, yes. You see... the death is the ultimate force and it trumps all other rules. It's a one way street; once you go, there is no turning back."

"All rules? Even about time travel tampering?"

"I guess so," Akane shrugged. "Who knows?"

"Bring me to the clock," Kou insisted, and something in his voice made Akane look at him.

"I will talk to the other keepers. Since you need their permission as well."

Kou scribbled a short note and put it into Nene's locker during the break.

"Hey, kid, what are you doing?" Hanako asked him appearing from behind. "Sending love notes to MY girlfriend?"

"It's not like that!" Kou scatched his neck. "It's, um, nothing important."

"Really? Let's have a look then," Hanako pushed his hand through the locker door and retrieved the note.

"I'm travelling to past to fix some things! See you around — signed, Kou. What's that supposed to mean?"

"I... um, well... It's hard to explain."

"Try anyway," Hanako's gaze fixed upon Kou's face.

"It's... about Mitsuba. He's been acting weird lately. Saying stuff like he does not want to live like this and such."

Kou took a pause. Hanako kept staring at him silently.

"So I thought... what if I travel back to the day he died? And try to save him?"

"Save him how exactly?"

Kou looked away. "Natsuhiko-senpai told me something. How to become a supernatural. You need to have a strong wish, and be willing to pay the price, as he put it."

Kou paused. "I do have a strong wish."

"And that wish is?.."

"If Mitsuba did not die in the first place, he would not end up like this!" exclaimed Kou.

"I see. And you are willing to pay the price?" he stared intently. "It's a life for a death substitution. Someone has to die to save someone else from dying."

"Yeah well. It's not a big deal!"

"I'm sure dying is a big deal for mortals," replied Hanako.

"I don't mind it. I mean, I'll be able to come see you and senpai, since you both can see supernaturals."

"So this is what on your mind. You know, you did not think it through at all."

"Wha— What do you mean?"

"Being supernatural is not a walk in the park, kid. You have to maintain your rumor, or you cease to exist. Then, there are other matters."

"What other matters?"

"Your brother, for one. He would probably exorcise someone just out of spite. And you wouldn't be safe from him, either."

"What? No! Teru would never!"

"Are you sure about that? Did he tell you about that time he nearly exorcised your boyfriend?"

"He did what? And! He's not my boyfriend!"

"In all seriousness, kid, I don't think you understand how death works. Your family mourns you; your friends miss you. And then they move on. The world moves on. It's just you that stay stuck at the same place, at the same age, unable to change. Eventually everyone forgets you. Even your boyfriend, who would not know of your noble sacrifice."

Hanako kept silent for a bit. "Becoming supernatural is one of my greatest regrets. So... don't do it. Besides, there's an easier way."

"There is?"

"Of course! The seven yorishiros! We go and destroy them. Have you forgotten?"
