Shinjiro’s gaze snaps up to meet hers, astonishment apparently overriding shyness.
“The–” His voice stumbles over itself. “You–”
It’s rare for him to be at a loss for words, and Mitsuru doesn’t believe she’s ever seen him so openly thunderstruck. Something about it makes her… uncomfortable. Perhaps even upset– not on her own behalf, but his.
“It–” Shinjiro clears his throat. “Is it?”
“That comes as a surprise?”
“I mean… Yeah.” He rubs the back of his neck uneasily, looking away from her again. “I could kinda guess that Aki felt that way, but I didn’t think– I had no idea about you.”
“Wait, what gave ME away?” Akihiko cuts in before she’s able to find the words or the composure to respond to Shinjiro’s unfinished presupposition.
Shinjiro blinks several times at Akihiko, then fixes him with a flat stare. Mitsuru gets the impression that he’s trying to look irritated, but he comes across as utterly bewildered, instead.
“....Aki, you literally almost kissed me that day in the hospital.”
Well, that’s certainly news to her. What day would that have been, she wonders? The same day as their shared second-awakenings, perhaps?
Faint pink blooms on Akihiko’s cheeks and the bridge of his nose almost immediately. The color slowly deepens across a series of indiscernible expressions, rose darkening to ruby.
She isn’t without sympathy for his embarrassment, but– it is a very endearing sight. One that more than makes up for the shock of only just now learning of this incident, in her opinion.
“O-oh,” Akihiko finally manages. “Right.”
“Did you forget?”
“NO.” Akihiko briefly squeezes his eyes shut. When he opens them again, he aims his gaze at the ceiling. “I just– I– kinda hoped you hadn’t noticed.”
“Yeah, I noticed,” Shinjiro snorts. “You weren’t exactly being subtle, Aki.”
Akihiko groans and covers his face, now claret-red, with his hands. Subtlety never has been his forte, and thankfully he seems to know better than to try and deny it.
“You didn’t say anything,” he wheezes, muffled.
“I mean, I was kinda high on painkillers at the time,” Shinjiro shrugs, either unbothered by Akihiko’s fall to indignity or, perhaps more likely, simply relieved that the spotlight has been redirected. “Couldn’t be sure if I was seein’ things that weren’t really there.”
“Well…” Akihiko’s hands are still tented in front of his eyes, but they no longer dampen his voice. “I guess now you can be sure you weren’t.”
“Guess so,” Shinjiro quietly agrees. “Glad to know it.”
“I didn’t– I mean, I– I hadn’t ever realized it until then.” Akihiko’s voice has gone soft and careful, like the admission is made of porcelain, fine to the point of translucency. “At least not in a way that stuck.”
“Yeah?” There’s an arch to the word, but it’s too gentle to be quite teasing.
After humming in affirmation Akihiko is quiet for a moment, and then:
“Shinji,” he says in that same delicate tone. “What Mitsuru said– Why is that so hard for you to believe?”
There’s a particular weight to the question, a history behind it, as though Akihiko is picking back up the thread of a conversation that Mitsuru had not been present for.
“I can’t say that I understand, either,” she says.
Shinjiro remains silent long enough that Mitsuru begins to think he has no intention of responding.
Finally, though, he does. “I don’t see why you would.”
For several moments all Mitsuru can do is stare at him, bogged down by confusion and more than a little dismay. Has she truly not made herself clear enough?
Then she remembers that she’s talking to Shinjiro Aragaki, whose allergy to being held in high esteem she has long been aware of and whose position as the most thick-headed person she’s ever met is rivaled only by the one sitting next to him.
Mitsuru thinks for a moment on how best to exemplify before settling on:
“You made me tea.”
Akihiko nods– he understands her perfectly. Shinjiro, however, clearly does not. His eyes dart around, and he shifts uncertainly.
“...I’m– I am… gonna need you to elaborate on that.”
Of course he would. Mitsuru shakes her head slightly, a warm spark of amusement glowing in her chest. She doesn’t mind spelling it out.
“You went to the trouble for no other reason than to be kind–” As she says this, Shinjiro fidgets again, lifting one shoulder in a half-shrug. She can practically hear him protest that the gesture wasn’t big enough to count as going to any kind of trouble; he seems to be aware of it, and doesn’t try to speak that point aloud.
“You claimed to lack expertise with tea, but the cup was perfect– you put forth the effort to ensure that it was. You took the time to prepare it how I would, even though by your reckoning I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.”
“I mean. I coulda been lyin’ about that.”
“You could have been,” Mitsuru concedes. “But you weren’t.”
Shinjiro does not contradict her.
“You do things like that all the time,” she continues. “Even if you were to claim that each gesture was too small to mean much on its own, the pattern inarguably does.”
Mitsuru speaks on every instance she can remember:
He kept the entire dorm well fed in the aftermath of the last full moon. He had made sure that a good meal was waiting for her when she’d returned home, after the longest and most exhausting week she could ever remember having.
“He sure did do that,” Akihiko cuts in, rolling his eyes. “Even though he was supposed to be resting.”
“I already told you, I was gonna go stir crazy if I just kept sittin’ around.”
Mitsuru laughs softly and keeps going. He’d gone out of his way to make rice porridge for their leader when he had fallen ill during the typhoon. He’d done the same for Mitsuru and Akihiko as well, back when it was only the three of them in the dorm. And in Mitsuru’s case, it was before the initial animosity between them had fully cooled.
"And speaking of the typhoon, you also valiantly faced the beast in the attic for our sake."
Shinjiro groans. "Don't go bringin' that up."
She laughs softly. She’s tempted to prod further about him being unable to handle a bit of teasing when he’s so fond of doling it out, just to see how he might react, but instead she moves on.
“I know you’ve been making an effort to spend time with Amada. I’ve seen you studying together, or helping him with his homework–” Shinjiro mumbles something at a barely discernible volume about Amada being too sharp to really need his help, but does not properly interrupt her.
“Yukari told me that she’d seen you and Akihiko watching a movie with Amada the night before we left for Kyoto, as well.” Despite everything that’s happened, he’s still going out of his way to make things right between them.
“You change the way you speak when you talk with Yamagishi. You soften your voice around her.”
Akihiko chuckles behind his fist. “Even I noticed that.”
“Shut up, Aki.”
And then, of course, there was their first encounter with the Reaper, and everything Shinjiro had done for them during and after.
“Okay.”
She contemplates her hands where they lay folded in her lap. There are dozens of other moments she could cite; examples of his kindness, his ferocious loyalty, his warmth. Which should she choose as her closing argument?
Ultimately, she decides to bring things full circle, and return to her initial thesis.
“You remembered which tea blend I like best. In all the time it’s been since we’d ever spoken on the subject of tea, you still remembered something so small, and– it meant a great deal to me. That attentiveness–”
“Okay.”
Mitsuru looks up, startled. Had she said something wrong?
No, perhaps she hadn’t, if the scene in front of her is anything to go by.
Akihiko presses his knuckles against his mouth, presumably to stop himself from laughing. Shinjiro has pulled the edge of his hat down so low over his face that practically only his jawline is still visible. His ears are vibrantly, nearly incandescently red– and how on earth had she never noticed that charming little detail before?
“Please, just– just stop. I get it, alright?”
“Very well,” Mitsuru says. Her voice wobbles slightly– she is fighting valiantly to suppress her own laughter and is only barely managing. “I believe I’ve made my point clearly enough.”
What a treasure of a discovery: that the self-serious, implacable Shinjiro Aragaki can be brought to a state one might easily call ‘adorable.’

Persona Fun Facts Pt. 2
Everyone seemed to like the last entry so here's the sequel. Reminder that all these facts were taken from Atlus' fanbooks and novels (and some even from the Persona Stalker Club).
Another reason Mitsuru worried about Minato was because he had a tight schedule, was pale, and never complained about anything nor mentioned if something was bothering him 🥺
Iwai likes to watch reruns of old Western films (I wonder what's his favorite movie).
Ryuji's mother has the personality of a loud, older sister.
Lisa knows how to snowboard.
The necktie Adachi is wearing is probably Dojima's.
Shiho is "drawn to what she doesn't have".
If he won 700 million yen, Akechi would travel the world.
Tatsuya's handwriting is shit.
In his briefcase, Akechi carries a set of student supplies, food, water, and free samples of sweets and cosmetics people give him.
Yu was the type of person who wanted to be seen as wise beyond his years and more of an adult than he really was. He grew out of it by the end of the game by becoming an actually mature person.
Chihaya redesigns clothes.
The first thing Ulala did after realizing her ex was scamming her was call Maya to a restaurant where they got drinks.
Yusuke would be okay with crossdressing if he felt it would help him discover the secret of beauty.
Junes wages are 690 yen per hour for high school students and 900 yen per hour for the rest.
Jin was the member of Strega in charge of raising funds and taking care of meals.
Maruki is aware of the relationship between food and mental health, so he always tries to eat a balanced diet (with cheap ingredients that won't affect his mental health by being a financial burden).
Yukari's mother, Risako, was financially blessed and came from a good family associated with the Kirijo Group.
The Shiroganes have a butler named Yakushiji who has served them for three generations. He, along with Grandpa Shirogane, was Naoto's main caretaker growing up.
The place where Ken's house used to be is now a parking lot.
Junpei's father failed in business.
Akechi's ideal type of lover is "someone who can give [him] space".
Dojima bought Nanako's clothes at Junes.
Maya always keeps a can of crab in her purse... that's her lunch at work. 😔
Futaba is more specific when it comes to her ideal lover. I'm just going to copy and paste here: "Their specs must be just as follows: must be more of an indoors person more than an outdoors one, won’t barge selfishly into people’s room to clean without the owner’s consent, old fashioned romantic and can sing all the theme songs of Neo Featherman."
Yosuke and Kanji aren't the only ones who dye their hair. Chie also dyes hers.
Kandori sealed his deal with Nyarly by strangling his lover/coworker, Mayo Miyashita, to death. He seemed kind of in a trance while he did so (a lot was from Mayo's POV), so it's up to you to decide how much agency he had in that murder.
Members of Strega don't even know their real names (this won't deter me from the "Chidori is Natsumi's daughter theory"). They also steal household goods and clothes during the night.
Elly has twin sisters.
I can't remember if I included this one in the last post, but here it goes again. After Makoto pointed out how difficult taking care of lobsters would be, Yusuke ate them with tears in his eyes.

+Strawberry Magic! ♡ 30 Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!♡+
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: A New Power?
Summary: When virgin Pro Hero Shouto turns 30, he gains the magical ability to read the minds of people that he touches. After finding out that his personal assistant has a crush on him, everything changes and Shouto finds himself lost in the stressful game called love.
Pairing: Todoroki Shouto x Reader
Warnings: aged up characters, mention of virginity (at the end), this entire fic is and will be written in Shouto's POV! It is nevertheless a self-insert reader fic, but just a little warning that Shouto may act a little OOC :)
Tumblr media
There is definitely something wrong with him today. Shouto does not know what, but there is something off about him. Maybe it's the fact that he has finally turned 30.
But what's so special about 30? It's just a year older than 29. Maybe it's the coffee.
Yup.
Definitely the coffee.
♡ Two hours ago ♡
"Surprise!!" Confetti and streamers fill the room. All of the agency employees, from heroes to the janitor, are clapping and cheering. With an expression of shock mixed with bewilderment, Shouto blinks, not expecting the pleasant surprise. His assistant, Y/N, walks up to him. Adorned with a big smile on her face, she holds up a bouquet of pink lilies and tulips, as well as Shouto's usual coffee order. There is also a silver gift bag hanging by her elbow.
"Happy birthday, Todoroki-san! Each one of us pitched in to buy these flowers for you, and we also brought individual gifts." Shouto reaches out to take the gifts and coffee. "Ah, thank you."
Then, it happened.
'Oh, I'm so happy for Todoroki-san! He looks so pleased! I hope he likes my gift!!!'
Shouto's eyes widen slightly, and he ends up masking his embarrassment with a cough. "Thank you again, L/N-san, for the gift." Before Y/N could respond, however, his other employees swarm him with their gifts, whirling him away from her. Kirishima swings an arm around his employer and former high school classmate, congratulating him on turning 30.
"Hey! Congrats man! Here's your gift!"
'Todoroki-san is so manly! I hope he enjoys the gift I got him!'
His one of his student interns from his alma mater, Mitsuru, places a neatly wrapped cupcake in Shouto's hand. "Sensei! This is for you! Happy birthday and thank you for choosing me to intern here!"
'Oh! Pro hero Shouto is so cool!! I can't believe this! I hope he enjoys the cupcake I made!'
Shouto gives the student an approving nod. "Thank you, Mitsuru." As he is given gifts from everyone, he can't help but look down at his hands in confusion.
'What was that?'
♡ Real Time ♡
Looking at the coffee, Shouto groans and shakes his head. 'No, it can't be the coffee. I drink it every day and this has never happened before.' His gaze flickers to the large pile of gifts from his employees. He reaches for the closest one, the silver gift bag he recognized to be from Y/N. Opening it up, he finds a box of chocolate-covered strawberries and his favorite brand of strawberry milk. Shouto puts it all back in the bag and starts opening the rest of the gifts.
Halfway through the third gift bag, there is a knock on his office door.
"Come in."
Y/N enters the room with a folder and boxes in her arms. Smiling cheerfully as always, she speaks up.
"Hello Todoroki-san! I'm here to drop off the reports completed by your interns about patrol with you yesterday. Where would you like me to put these?" Shouto gestures to an empty spot on his desk.
"You can put them there." He curiously eyes the two boxes in her hands.
"What are those?"
"They're special birthday packages from pro heroes Deku and Dynamight." A soft smile forms on Shouto's face. Of course his friends would give him birthday gifts.
"Ah, thank you for bringing them to me." He reaches out to hold them, not expecting to hear Y/N's voice in his mind again.
'Oh! He opened my gift already! I hope he likes it! I wonder, did he notice my hair? I woke up early to curl it. Oh-'
"L/N-san, your hair looks nice."
Y/N looks at him and blinks her eyes. The voice in Shouto's head trails off. "I... thank you, Todoroki-san!"
'Oh good lord! He complimented me!! How did he know I put in the effort?! Ah, I'm so happy!'
She lets go of the packages and bows. "Todoroki-san, you have no scheduled meetings today. All of the reports that you need to sign are in the blue folder underneath the interns' reports. I hope you enjoy your birthday!"
"Thank you, L/N-san. Please give the interns my thanks for completing their reports."
After his assistant closes the door to his office, Shouto bites his lip nervously.
'Crap. I forgot that I was reading her mind... Did I expose myself?'
...
After exiting the elevator, the pitter patter of rain fills Shouto's ears. He walks towards the main exit of the hero agency building, where he sees two of his employees chatting. Kirishima groans.
"Aw man, the weather didn't mention rain!" Kei, one of his fellow hero coworkers, laughs heartily. "January rain is much better than having prolonged snowfall though! Kirishima-san, I have an extra umbrella. Would you like it?" "Really? Thanks man! This downpour is crazy!"
The two of them notice Shouto and wave.
"Boss! We're heading out now!" Shouto nods. "Of course, thanks for your hard work and for the gifts."
Both men smile and run out into the downpour.
Click. Clack. Click. Clack.
The familiar sound of Y/N's heels fill the room. She gasps.
"Rain? Are you serious!?" Shouto hears his assistant let out a soft huff, so he turns around.
"L/N-san, will you be clocking out now?" The shorter woman nods. "Yes, but I'll have to wait here for a bit until the rain stops." A sheepish laugh escapes her lips. "I didn't realize that it was going to rain, so I forgot my umbrella."
Not long after she says that, Shouto takes his umbrella from the umbrella rack.
"You take the subway, right? Why don't I escort you there?"
Y/N gasps and shakes her head. "It's okay, sir! You don't have to! Besides, I need to stop by the bookstore for a bit, and I really couldn't trouble y-" "No, it's quite alright. I insist."
Grabbing her hand, Shouto leads Y/N outside under the umbrella before she can resist. "I- alright, thank you very much, Todoroki-san."
The short contact between his hand and hers teaches Shouto something he never knew about before.
'Oh god, I like him so much.'
...
The bookstore is only a few minutes away from Shouto's agency, and soon, they reached the shop. Though the exterior was quite small, there was an awning where two other people were waiting under until the rain settled down. Closing up his umbrella, he turns to Y/N.
"I'll wait out here. Take your time, okay?"
She nods with a smile.
"Alright, thank you again, sir!"
As Shouto waits for Y/N to finish shopping, a poster on the window of the bookstore catches his eye. Inspecting it closer, it seems to be an anime adaptation promotion for a popular manga series.
However, as he reads the sign, Shouto's eyes widen and his jaw drops to the floor.
'No way... I can read minds because I'm a...!?!'
'Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! will now be getting its own anime adaptation!!'
Tumblr media
A/N: omg omg omg! My first fic! That's the end of chapter 1, and words cannot express the elation I'm feeling! Ramblings about the state of the 'canon romance' in each version P3
Original P3
There were 2 main characters: Hero and Heroine, with them being romantically involved. Hero obviously became Hero, but Heroine's a bit harder. Her design and personality eventually became Yukari, but not before her love interest role became player decided and her main character role was given to Aigis. This must have been an early change, since the characters have an internal order probably mirroring the order they were created, and Aigis is 3rd(after Hero and Yukari). In the Commu Make(Social Link) section of the pitch for P3, it mentions that if you become part of the student council, there'd be a 'cute vice-representative'(probably becoming Chihiro) there too. So Hero was never going to be fully faithful to Heroine. Originally, every romantic Social Link(Yukari, Fuuka, Mitsuru, Aigis, Yuko, Chihiro) was of the Lovers Arcana. Worth noting here is that the SEES girls aren't in the internal order(Yukari, Aigis, Mitsuru, Fuuka), but instead probably in the order you would unlock them. When it was decided that they would all get unique Arcana instead, some got cut. The relevant ones are Elizabeth's(which got replaced by Fuuka's) and Aigis'. This is something that a lot of people misinterpret, but there are no platonic female Social Links because Hero only pursues them with the intention of dating. Not because he can't say no or that m/f friendships don't exist. The only times doing a Social Link affects the story that I'm aware of is Yukari's adding a bit in the bad ending and Fuuka's adding a bit in Junpei's January conversation, but there could definitely be more I'm not. Marketing focus is pretty evenly split between Yukari and Aigis. Yukari was revealed in the first Famitsu magazine alongside Hero and Junpei, and is counted as the 2nd character after Hero. Her focus feels like it's because she's one of the first characters to be introduced. Aigis got her own, being the last member to be revealed. None of it mentions anything about romance, at least not in any way different to the other characters.
FES
To what extent Aigis' Social Link and Elizabeth's dates are restorations of the original ones is unknown, especially since they were unfinished. But now Elizabeth does show interest in Hero. However, she's the only person Hero can reject. Aigis' Social Link is treated as something special, with marketing focusing on it(really funny they blur the dates so you can't tell it's so late in the game. The text when starting a new game doesn't say who it's with, but the marketing does. It's also kind of obvious it's Aigis because of the new bit added to her dialogue in September), it getting its own special Arcana, etc. There's also the Answer, which only really focuses on Yukari and Aigis.
Persona 3 FES Official Fanbook
The other books aren't really worth mentioning in this context, but the FES one has a section where every day has a bit about it from the pov of a character. It shows Chihiro having a crush on him, Yukari getting jealous of Chihiro, Leader making Mitsuru wear a maid outfit(at the start of November wtf), Leader bringing Elizabeth to his room on Christmas, Leader going out after school with a different girl every day, Yuko having a crush on him, Aigis confessing to him on the roof, Aigis' rank 10, and probably more I skimmed over. Yeah there's really no favouritism at all basically every girl has a moment. Even Ryoji's got some stuff like. It's kind of genius because people will just crop out the other ships even if I hate how it characterises Leader.
Drama CDs
Masters of Schrödinger's romance. The girls appear to have a crush on Leader, but it's left vague as to if he recipricates or not. All the girls(including the Social Links and not counting how more screentime results in more teasing) have the same prominence. The same concept of Schrödinger's romamce, wherein Hero is simulaneously dating and just friends with a girl, is in other things like Q, Dancing, and even the game.
Manga
The only Social Links that it adapted are Yukari's and Aigis'. Aigis' was changed so that he does her rank 4/5 with Yukari as well and her rank 7/8 are her talking to Fuuka instead of it all being just her and Minato. This means that both Yukari and Aigis get feelings for Minato. Yukari's gets some of that Schrödinger's romance since it's vague whether Minato reciprocates as she never confesses, but it's pretty obvious he friendzoned Aigis. But, now we have to mention why P3 doesn't just have a girlfriend. Shuji Sogabe was discovered by Atlus because he was selling P3 doujinshi. After being hired to work on the manga, he still wrote doujinshi under a penname. 2 of these(the only ones that are known about) are based around shipping Hero and Ryoji. What a legend. Anyway, especially with that context, Ryoji and his relationship with Minato is also worth mentioning, with him getting far far more screentime than in the game, appearing in the 2nd part and having some of the most art. Kudos to the consistancy too he was on that grind for 10 years.
Portable
Nothing has really changed from FES. You can go to the summer festival with Mitsuru and Aigis, putting them on more equal ground since their Social Links start too late. There's also the Yukari, Fuuka, and Mitsuru ng+ endings, which are unlocked after completing their Social Links. Those endings are ng+ specific since they didn't want P3P to feel like a dating sim and the original one is so important to P3. I'm not going to touch on Heroine's relationships since that's a whole other thing and I don't think it's too relevant since Heroine's a different character and I don't like the idea that 'they love the MC regardless of their gender/character' makes them inherantly better.
Movies
All the movies were created together. The changing directors doesn't change the overall premise of them, especially since lots of people like Jun Kumagi(the script writer), Kazuki Adachi(the producer who fun fact was going to direct 4), and Seiji Kishi(the supervisor) worked on the same jobs for all of them. Taguchi also worked on all 4 movies, being a series producer for both 1 and 4 and storyboarder for 1. The directors are also listed pretty low down on the staff list on both the website and the actual in-movie credits. The reason the directors changed was to allow them to be worked on simultaneously - Makoto's name wasn't even decided on until the middle of 2's script. So a single movie's director's bias wouldn't be enough to change the direction of the movies as a whole. Aigis and Ryoji were always going to be the main characters. Yukari's focus on 1 is because she's Akitaya's favourite character, and he wanted to give her the spotlight before Aigis came. I don't have any interviews with Motonaga, but Taguchi must have been smoking that yaoi cocane in February 2016 because there's not just one but two seperate magazines that released that month where he says that Makoto and Ryoji are in love(one of which being themed around Valentine's day with Ryoji holding sweetpeas and Makoto holding what has to be blue roses you can't make this up). He also says that Aigis' feelings for Makoto are unrequited, and that her not being the love interest is important. Those are the only two things I'm aware of that mention the existance of any kind of love interest. I guess Fuuka has a few cute moments in 1 but Makoto was originally going to charge her for the takoyaki and it doesn't go anywhere so
The Weird Masquerade
I'm using so many interviews and mentioning the original versions because I want to be as objective as possible when saying if something is romantic or not. And I don't have any interviews on WM, especially not ones that mention a love interest, so I don't really have anything to say here. I guess something of note is that the only relationship to have any meaningful change between Sakuya and Kotone's routes is Shinjiro's, so saying that Sakuya's interactions with one character as romantic requires also seeing Kotone's relationship with them the same way and vice versa since the only thing that's changed is the gender of one character.
Reload
Reload added platonic routes for the girls and flags that can lock you in to one route. This was done to give the player more freedom in both what they can do and their interpretation of Hero's personality. Since all the Social Links work the same, there's no favouritism in any of the objectively romantic things. Elizabeth's dates went unchanged, meaning she went from the only girl to be deniable to the only girl to fall in love regardless. Following the trend of everything(except FES), Reload also added more for Ryoji. He gains explicitly romantic feelings for Hero in his Linked Episodes and, unlike any of the girls, has no option to either stay friends or accept him and everything after happens regardless of what you chose.
Overall, the love interest of P3 is left intentionally vague to let the player chose. It's simultaneously everybody and nobody. The main contenders are always Yukari, Aigis, and Ryoji, but to say that either of them are the definitive 'winner' is untrue. This was mostly just to clear up misinformation(like Yukari originally being the love interest, Aigis being it in the movies, and Ryoji not standing a chance), but it's really interesting to analyse how each version portrays the system. One of the most consistant things is that they don't care, which makes sense because the entire idea of it being player determined means that it doesn't have to happen and thus can't be important.

Aikoto Moments: FES & P3P vs P3R
Before gathering all the relevant Aikoto tidbits from P3R, I'll start by gathering what was added & what was removed in P3R in comparison to FES & P3P — though I'm only bringing up the latter because P3R's script seems to be majorly based on P3P's lol
Tumblr media
I'll only be focusing on the stuff that happens within the main story, so I won't be including Aigis' S-Link.
As usual, lots of images and SPOILERS for the entire game below the cut!
Additions
Tumblr media
✤ In FES, Aigis stops "hugging" Makoto when Ikutsuki shows up. In P3P however, Aigis hugs Makoto nearly throughout the entire scene. P3R goes with the P3P version of events, so Aigis hugs Makoto for much longer than she does in FES.
Tumblr media
✤ Unlike FES, Makoto gets up from his bed and goes to join Aigis and Yukari at the door while they discuss whether Aigis is allowed to stay in his room or not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ For the Summer Festival, Makoto can actually go with Aigis and Mitsuru, just like in P3P. The only difference is that this time, the player can choose whether to accept Mitsuru's invitation or not. If the player decides to go to the Summer Festival alone, they will get the FES version where Makoto runs into Aigis and Mitsuru but neither of them notice he's there (although a less funny version, since in FES we can see Makoto make a fool of himself while in P3R he remains cool).
✤ Just like in FES, Aigis snaps out of Ikutsuki's control as she and Makoto stare at each other. P3R gives more emphasis to this scene by adding some flashbacks to SEES. However, the biggest addition Aikoto-wise is that we get to see Makoto running towards Aigis and draping an arm around her shoulders.
Tumblr media
✤ While in FES it was just implied, P3R (just like P3P) makes it very clear that Aigis wanted to be assigned to Makoto's room during the Kyoto School Trip lol
Tumblr media
✤ Makoto gets a new dialogue option during Aigis' resolution.
Tumblr media
✤ If the player has Aigis in their party, she will get an extra line of dialogue during the fight with Nyx.
Tumblr media
✤ Just like in P3P, Aigis calling out to Makoto is the last thing he hears before he's called to the Velvet Room.
Tumblr media
✤ While in FES Aigis said that she couldn't allow the world Makoto was born in to be destroyed, this time she gets a line begging him to make it back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ Just like in P3P, Aigis is the first one to notice Makoto coming back to them after sealing Nyx. We get a new cutscene showing Aigis running to him before she's joined by the rest of SEES.
Tumblr media
✤ Aigis' tears are handled very much like they were in P3P, so we get a new crying!Aigis sprite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ We now see a couple of flashbacks during Aigis' speech in the rooftop scene, including scenes that seem to be taken from the movies. These include Makoto turning towards Aigis and she holding his Evoker.
Tumblr media
✤ Lots of added extra focus on Aigis placing her hand on-top of Makoto's, just like in the movies.
Tumblr media
✤ This time around, we're briefly shown Aigis from Makoto's POV. She and her smile are the last thing he sees before closing his eyes with a smile of his own.
Omissions
P3R seems to have based a lot of things on the P3P script, and it also seems to have gone for a Makoto that has less "agency" than in Vanilla/FES, likely to make him a better vehicle for the player. Since Vanilla & FES Aikoto take a lot from Makoto reacting to Aigis and interacting with her outside of player input, there are a few things missing Aikoto-wise in P3R.
Tumblr media
✤ The hearts are gone in P3R, so Makoto finding Aigis attractive is implied by the way she is introduced rather than stated outright.
Tumblr media
✤ In FES, Junpei and Akihiko are disappointed that Aigis is a robot while Makoto isn’t. In P3P there is no contrast because the only one shown to be disappointed is Junpei. P3R once again goes with the P3P script of this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ In FES (and even in P3P), Makoto holds Aigis hand on his own after her fight with Ryoji, while in P3R he just kneels by her side. The way he touches her head in FES as she falls unconscious is also missing here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ I'm noting this very minute change as well, but just for the sake of being thorough lol In FES we see Aigis walk even closer to Makoto during their Jan 25 scene, while in P3R her model remains standing at the same distance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ Just like in FES, Aikoto are together during Koromaru's last walk in P3R. The main difference is that in FES, we see Makoto talking to Aigis and playing with Koro as well, while in P3R he just stands there watching them lol
Tumblr media
✤ The moment where SEES is hit by Nyx' gravity is no longer a 2D cutscene, but a rather unimpactful 3D cutscene. As such, we don't see Aigis looking at Makoto falling before trying to stand up to fight.
youtube
✤ Arguably the biggest omission is the 2D cutscene focused on Aigis' tears, which also shows Makoto growing emotional as he sees her cry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✤ Lastly, in FES we see a split second, very symbolic shot of human Aigis during the last 2D cutscene. In P3R, this imagery is removed.

Presenting you the last member of Blood & Peppers, my fellow German dude, the myth, the legend:
MITSURU
Tumblr media
The lineart kicked my ass a little and I needed to scrap my first sketch because it looked wonky (I need more practice with three quarters POV). But after changing the perspective a bit I figured it out 🫡
I experimented some with the rendering, just a tinyyyy bit but honestly I don't think you notice the difference unless you have the direct comparsion.
Anyways once again hope I did him justice!

As the good humor softens, so too does Shinjiro’s expression. His gaze skates off to the side, growing distant. Mitsuru and Akihiko catch one another’s eye. Akihiko leans over and checks Shinjiro lightly with his shoulder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shinjiro gestures vaguely in a way that appears to indicate ‘everything,’ which elucidates nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Briefly Akihiko matches his gaze with Mitsuru’s once again, and she has a feeling that their thoughts are closely aligned:
Usually Shinjiro demonstrates far more subtlety when he tries to hide something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Akihiko folds his arms and scoffs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, so he does have a timestamp, after all. Akihiko looks a little too stunned to call him out on the lie this time.
Tumblr media
He averts his eyes.
Tumblr media
The implication hangs heavily in the air. Akihiko seems to decide, wisely in her opinion, against dwelling on it. Mitsuru opts to jump back to a topic that may be slightly less fraught.
Tumblr media
Shinjiro glowers down into his lap, his mouth thinning into a tight, sheepish line. Evidentially he’s only now realized what he’d let slip.
Tumblr media
He continues to pointedly avoid eye contact with either of them. There is most certainly more that he isn’t saying– Shinjiro’s ability to maintain his trademark opacity truly does seem to have abandoned him this evening. Mitsuru will hold off on probing further into it for the time being. She’s already demanded a great deal of vulnerability from him throughout this conversation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He sighs, world-weary as always.
Tumblr media
His tone is no different than any of the other, numerous times he’s used that nickname to underline his exasperation with her, but…
Context makes all the difference, it seems. And this context has Mitsuru’s heart leaping into her throat, her pulse suddenly rabbit swift.
Tumblr media
At some point she had begun to dig a fingernail into the skin of her thumb. Thinking of Shinjiro’s admonishment before the trip, she folds her hands in her lap, thumbs tucked under her palms, to try and quell the restless urge to fidget.

Proving Oneself (To Yourself, Or To Others?)
Summary:
“Amada-kun,” Ken stood up straight at the sound of his name, even more focused with his headphones aiding his hearing, “I’d like to see how good of a shot you are. Think you can hit that one?”
Makoto walked forward where a short set of stairs went down before ascending again, pointing to the center point where a shadow wandered in an unknown pattern. Ken nodded, becoming entirely focused. Without saying a word, in one smooth motion he pulled out his gun, knelt down, aimed down the sight and pulled the trigger. The bullet moved so fast Makoto could only hear it, the aftermath of the shadow dissipating into wisps the only proof it met its mark.

Don't Kill The Messenger 👀
ty for the ask!!! full list of wips from the ask game can be found here!
This one's all vibes, so, again, below is just me rambling. The vibes are distinctly Akishinjimitsu, though <3
So when I played Reload, I was absolutely obsessed with Shinji's link episode. The exploration of his relationship with Aki and Mitsuru, the drama of it all! One of the rare occassions Makoto makes an active effort to participate and change someone's life for the better! (you have to choose to talk to Shinji even after Mitsuru says it's okay for you to step down. that particular moment got to me so much).
But then I thought, hey. What if I take the link episode and glue it together with Kotone's social link for Shinji. The true tragedy of the Link Episode is that Makoto finds out the most important information just late enough that he can't change anything about what's going to happen. However, a more proactive character like Kotone could push more, and change things more. Could actually make the senpai trio talk to each other. Get them together romantically even, in an outsider POV sort of way.
Was also thinking about throwing Yukaham into the mix of this bc I like them a lot :)

+Strawberry Magic! ♡ 30 Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!♡+
Tumblr media
Chapter 2: An Extra Boost
Summary: When virgin Pro Hero Shouto turns 30, he gains the magical ability to read the minds of people that he touches. After finding out that his personal assistant has a crush on him, everything changes and Shouto finds himself lost in the stressful game called love.
Pairing: Todoroki Shouto x Reader
Warnings: aged up characters, mention of virginity, as usual: this entire fic is and will be written in Shouto's POV. HOWEVER... there is a short reader's POV in this chapter so I hope you enjoy it (hehe)
Tumblr media
"Todoroki-san, are you alright?"
The sound of Y/N's voice snaps Shouto out of his dazed state. What was he doing again? Oh right, walking her to the subway. The soft splash of shoes stepping into rain puddles fill Shouto's ears, the rain having stopped a few minutes ago.
"Ah, yes. Sorry, I was just thinking about something."
Y/N nods and continues walking with her boss. After a few minutes, the covered stairs to the subway become visible, quickly bringing a smile to Y/N's face.
"There it is!" Shouto nods and escorts her to the entrance. Stepping under the covering, Y/N turns to Shouto and bows.
"Thank you once again, Todoroki-san! I hope you didn't mind the detour on the way." Shouto shakes his head. "It's quite alright, L/N-san. It's the least I can do for my assistant."
He makes sure that she goes down the stairs, and once she is out of sight, he walks in the direction of his house.
...
After tossing together chicken and whatever vegetables he could find in the fridge, Shouto begins his research. Busy typing away on his personal laptop and halfheartedly eating his dinner, he types the following:
Cherry magic 30 years of virginity can make you a wizard
What happens when you turn 30
Mysterious happenings at 30 years old
Is it possible to read minds
Development of mind reading quirk at 30
Mind reading at 30
Hand crushing and mind reading
Am I possessed?
Finishing his food, Shouto groans when his research hits a dead end.
'I don't understand! Has no one ever experienced this before?' Turning his laptop off, he looks at his reflection in the dark screen.
'Maybe I'm just being silly. It's all in my head.'
...
Spoiler alert: he was not being silly. Shouto really could read minds.
Reaching the scene where a villain infamously known for kidnapping women was on the loose, he looks at his interns behind him.
"Mitsuru, Tsubasa, evacuate the area and check for any others who may need assistance."
"Yes sir!"
As the high school students spread out, Shouto faces the villain chasing after adolescent girls. With his right side, he encases the distracted man in frigid, freezing ice. Once he is rendered immobile, he walks up to him.
"If you don't wish to catch frostbite before being sent to prison, I suggest you tell me where your victims are." The twisted criminal laughs and smirks.
"Why would I tell you?"
Shouto's left side flares up slightly and places his hand on the man's head, eliciting a yelp from him.
"Okay! Okay! Fine! I'll tell you! They're in Yokohama, by the river!" Nodding, Shouto is about to remove his hand when suddenly he hears a voice in his head.
'Stupid pro hero Shouto! The guy doesn't realize I'm lying straight to his face! The dumb chicks are still in Hosu City! He'll never find Club Diamond.'
His eyes widen slightly, and he lets go of the man's face. The police arrive just in time, and the city detective walks up to Shouto.
"Pro hero Shouto! Thanks for taking care of him."
"Ah, it's no problem, Matsuyama-san." The shorter man smiles and takes out his notebook. "Did the villain say anything about the missing women?" Shouto looks at the criminal being escorted into a police van. Once he is out of earshot, he turns back to Matsuyama and speaks.
"Can you find a Club Diamond? In Hosu City."
♡ 3 hours later ♡
"Good evening, I am your reporter, Muramoto Kozue, and here is Tokyo's latest headline news. At around noon, pro hero Shouto and Hosu City's lead detective solved the puzzling disappearance of women in the area. Having rescued five women no older than 26, pro hero Shoto also apprehended the criminal."
Holding her microphone, the news reporter turns to Shouto.
"Pro hero Shouto, eyewitnesses have stated that the villain told you that the women were in Yokohama. What made you decide to check our own city, no less a club?"
Taking a silent breath, Shouto speaks into the microphone the sentences that he practiced in his head.
"No villain would truly be upfront with information that heroes want. With the way that he told me the supposed location of the victims without hesitating as well as his refusal to make eye contact with me were signs that he was lying. Also, the alleyway that the Diamond Club is located in has been known for crime and sketchy mishaps."
'Signs my ass, I knew all of this because of this weird mind reading ability.' Nodding, the reporter looks back at the camera.
"Well, there you have it! Shouto-san, thank you once again for your efforts in keeping Hosu City safe. I'm Muramoto Kozue and this is your latest report on what has just gone down in Tokyo. Signing off." The camera shuts off and the cameraman gives the thumbs up. Shouto bows to the report crew and walks over to his interns on the side.
"Sensei! You were so cool!"
"Sir, I would have never guessed that the victims were in Hosu City!"
Shouto waves his left hand. "It was nothing really. Thank you two for escorting all of the victims. I heard from Matsuyama-san that you both assisted well." Reaching a vacant taxi, he gestures for the boys to enter.
"We did good today. The agency's around 20 minutes away on foot, and since you boys did a lot today, we can take a taxi."
His interns cheer in unison.
"Thank you, sir!"
...
"L/N-san! Is it okay if I ask a few questions? It's about my report."
"Of course!" Y/N walks over to Mitsuru, who appears to be struggling with his report. Tsubasa speaks up.
"L/N-san, what's it like being a secretary?"
"Hm? Well, it's a lot of work, especially here at this busy agency. I'm sure you both see me, running around the building, negotiating, answering phones, collecting and looking over reports, deliv-"
"Buying coffee for sensei!"
Y/N blinks slowly at the younger boy, then starts laughing. Tsubasa snickers in the background.
"B-buying coffee? For Todoroki-san?"
Mitsuru's cheeks turn red. "My bad, L/N-san! It's just- you always buy coffee for Todoroki-san. Do all secretaries do that?" The other intern nods. "L/N-san does always seem to get sensei coffee." Y/N chuckles.
"I guess it's been a habit for me to buy Todoroki-san coffee. I mean, ever since he hired me, I've always bought him his coffee in the morning!" She starts giggling.
"Do you boys want to hear a story?"
"Yes! Yes!"
She stands between them and starts whispering.
"So one time, I had an appointment in the morning one day..."
...
When Shouto exits the elevator, he hears giggling. Turning to the desks, he sees Y/N huddled with the high schoolers. Leaning over her shoulder, his frame towering hers, he speaks up.
"What are you doing?"
Y/N yelps and turns her head. "Oh! Todoroki-san! I was just bonding with our interns!" She giggles and winks at the boys.
'L/N-san has a pretty laugh', Shouto thinks.
"L/N-san was telling us about the time when the agency was turned upside down because you didn't get your morning coff-!"
"Shh! Mitsuru! How could you betray me like that? After I trusted you with such a delicate secret... Boohoo.." She sniffles, teasing the intern and slip up.
"Mitsuru!" Tsubasa hisses. "You're such an airhead!"
"My bad! Me and my big mouth..."
Shouto chuckles and looks at Y/N, who has a smile adorning her face. "I was helping them with their reports, and I wanted to tell them one of our agency's very fun stories." "And you decided to tell them the story that could destroy the grand image that the two of them have of me?" Shouto jests lightly, the corners of his mouth curved upwards at the thought of the memory.
"That day was the day that everyone in the agency realized that we couldn't function without L/N-san. L/N-san is a very important person here, so please treat her nicely."
"Oh please," Y/N's cheeks turn pink. "the interns are absolute sweethearts and I really only focus on management, PR, finance, meetin-" All three boys look at Y/N, and she laughs sheepishly.
'Y/N has a very pretty laugh,' Shouto thinks again.
"Okay, maybe I do do a lot. But it's worth it! I love the agency and do not want to incur the wrath of my boss without coffee!"
"I wasn't that bad!" Shouto huffs playfully, his left hand resting on Tsubasa's chair.
"Mhm, whatever you say, Todoroki-san."
Shouto lets out a soft laugh-
And then,
he hears Tsubasa's voice in his head.
'L/N-san and sensei act like a married couple. Are they dating?'
...
After clocking out, Shouto goes home. Once he finishes eating dinner, he takes a shower and lays on his bed.
'Today was... interesting.' Looking at his hands, he smiles softly. 'This mind reading ability was really helpful today. I didn't expect the women to still be in Hosu City. Maybe this mind reading thing is a good thing.'
'L/N-san and sensei act like a married couple. Are they dating?'
'Do L/N-san and I act like a married couple? Well... I do think her laugh is pretty.'
'Oh god, I like him so much.'
Shouto's eyebrows scrunch together 'What L/N-san said yesterday... What did she mean by *like*? Was it admiration? Approval?'
Shouto's eyes widen and his cheeks turn pink.
'No way.'
Gaining an idea, he grabs his phone and opens Line. Clicking on the groupchat consisting of two other members, he swiftly types out a message. He sends it out, anxiously waiting for a response.

A/N: That's it for chapter 2! Can you guess who Shouto messaged at the end? How different is P3 Alternative Heart compared to FES? You literally can't find anything on the former anywhere online
I don't know japanese, so I don't know any of the specifics, but it just seems to be a novelisation of The Answer/Episode Aigis(made in 2008, so obviously it wasn't influenced by Reload). It's split into 7 chapters: Prologue(the flash forward to Aigis and Metis' fight with Akihiko and Ken), Reliant Butterfly(Aigis' pov, to SEES first seeing the Abyss of Time), Partners Forever(Junpei's pov, to Junpei's past), Sister, Sister(Yukari's pov, to getting the keys), After a storm comes a calm(Metis' pov, to Aigis and Metis defeating Yukari and Mitsuru), Truth is out there(Aigis' pov, to the morning of April 1st), and Epilogue(10 years later, about Akihiko? I think it's to help set up Trinity Soul).
