Honestly, that sounds really interesting.

Like a progression from little league and a fight amongst children to big leagues where adults and massive power imbalances come into play. Where things get more dangerous and they’re up against bigger threats that aren’t treating this as a game.

Imagine it starts off with Lila or Chloe. They use the Butterfly to get their way or make things easier for themselves, and it’s clear they’re not taking it seriously. Making akumas that capture Adrien to force him into “romantic” situations.

Lila: (Fake) Oh no! We’ve both been captured! Please hold my hand, I’m so scared!

Adrien: (Internally screaming) Why does this keep happening?!

Perhaps situations to her benefit.

Lila: I was targeted by an akuma again and couldn’t complete the assignment! Boo hoo!

Or

Lila: How convenient the akuma attack have allowed me to meet Jagged Stone and get free tickets?

And of course even for her own ego and to boost herself if she tries to present herself as a hero.

She would be a “teenager with powers”. Testing and using and misusing them in typical teenage arrogance and ignorance to what the Miraculous are and what they are meant for. Not thinking of the consequences. Convinced that she’s smarter than everyone else and that there’s no way anyone will figure it out or that she could be caught.

So she gets bolder. More reckless. Because she’s a kid and to her this is a game and she’s convinced she’s winning, even despite the heroes interfering.

Then when Gabriel steps in, having put the clues together, hits her when she least expects it, makes off with the Miraculous, and leaves her with her mess.

…and sets the stage for a much more sinister threat.

Different fic anon here, I'm planning to make Lila my first butterfly villain and then have Gabriel acquire it after her defeat. Because I think it would be more interesting to have a teenage villain with the limitations and then evolve into an adult villain without the limitations. (And Lila is around from the get go, might have Chloe start out homeschooled and transfer to public school a semester after Adrien. I just can't see someone in Chloe's position willingly going to public school without a reason.)

You know, there's a lot of (appropriate) focus on Marinette in regards to the Big Secrets, but there is something on the *fallout* side that gets kind of overlooked.

First(briefly) I am fully in the 'It's marinette's responsibility as the protagonist/guardian/ladybug' to tell him. That out of the way...

When it does come out, if it all comes out. Adrien's going to lose his concept of family again.

They all knew. They were all 'in' on it. His girlfriend. His foster mom. His cousin. His ex/situationship. His kwami.

There's no one he can effectively turn to that isn't already involved. Heck, even Luka is across the oceaan. His entire support system is going to collapse.

(Nino will be a bro but I don't think canon has established 'major emotional burdens' as Nino's forté)

I wonder what they will do. Odds are on a sweep-under-the-rug forgiveness speed run. If not though...

Will Adrien fall victim to Lila shenanigans?

Will he seek help from his one outside friend, Sublime?

Will he seek help from his oldest friend, Chloé?

Will he seek out new friends?

Will he isolate?

I am not saying all of these are good/equal options. I do think all are interesting to explore. Not only that, most of them give Marinette interesting situations to play off of.

The Lila-villain angle is obvious, but gives both Adrien and Marinette the least to work with.

Sublime, perfect Sublime, what a threat she could seem to Marinette, if Adrien were to turn to her. Even if both his and Sublime's intent was pure/platonic, Marinette would struggle I think.

Chloé! Isolated with no friends, only followers online. A sincere desire to be seen as helping, if only because she wants to reclaim lost friendship again. Utterly unequipped to help but trying her best in awful ways. It would let you see the roots of their childhood friendship and give Marinette soooo much to chew on. There's less of the 'steal your man' vibe that might come from Sublime, but *who* it is would add it's own flavor.

New friends would be fun, an entire friend group! Hey, the Quantic kids! They don't even need more screen time than an Aurore or a Mirielle, they just need to exist. They need to provide Adrien with a possibility of a life completely independent from Marinette and her friends. He gets to explore that and Marinette gets to grapple with that idea too. The fear of losing Adrien not *to any one person* but just to ... Another life.

Isolating is the least fun. It gives them both the least to work with. Unlesssss... He goes full time into Cat Noir persona. Adrien vanishes, and Cat Noir starts developing friendships hero-to-civilian with members of the cast. That puts lots of options on the table for who they might be with. Marinette has to grapple with both losing Adrien to ??? And with Cat Noir's new independence and connections.

This is totally random and out-of-the-blue, but with how much more genuinely God-awful Marinette’s life has gotten since the time you wrote it, have you ever thought of expanding your Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun-inspired fic into more than a one-shot? The one you wrote a little over three years back? The idea of Demon!Uncle Jagged and Familiar!Fang is both funny and awesome, and I seriously love how you handle your fix-it fics, with the Lament Series being my most recent favorite.

Admittedly the original plan for Marinette in the Demon World was for all of the Miraculous cast to be demons she meets there (except for Lila, who causes enough trouble as a human as it is).

With Fu being the Headmaster of the school. Tikki and Plagg as teachers with Plagg in Kalego's place of being turned into Marinette's familiar....only he enjoys it.

The dynamic: emonette has this tough doesn't care demeanor from even before she started interacting with Chloé. So now in public she still 'bullies' her, because image. She knows Chloé knows it's just for show, but is always terrified of going too far. To make up for it she is super soft when it is just the two of them. Emonette in love would give up her angry style if she knew how, but feels trapped by her past choices.

Chloé is just happy that emonette can relax around her, and doesn't take any of the bullying to heart. She can see how much it hurts emonette, and she wishes she could whisk her secret girlfriend away somewhere to start over.

Ah yes, one of my favorite types of posts - pitting two hot tortured men against each other.

But, you may ask, why Burning Flames v TBL. Because despite the vast difference in tone, plot and perhaps genre, both the narratives possess a hero who is a royal in the oppressed human race who rebels against unjust gods and gets punished for that, who also has a sliver of himself running around separately and who also has a ride or die girlfriend who is a human version precious substance (crystal v pearl.)

Both of these ladies are ride or die who never waver, both can change the fate of the world, both don't care if ML is aspect, full being of prophecy, royal, not royal, whatever. But only one of these ladies literally stormed heaven for her man. Plus, I am sorry, the BF otp is cute but rather vanilla while between the drama and the novel scenes, we all know XXC and MXL sex life is so hot than it probably creates a fire hazard.

In general, TBL is a romance while BF is about other stuff, so the OTP in general is much more delicious.

XXC has his frenemy NXY, the Jade Himbo (tm @fake-married-my-dead-fiance), and Miss Gao, plus a bunch of disciples. That's all well and good, but Wu Geng has a lady who rides a unicorn, a hot uncle, an ambiguously evil prince, a cursed city lord (who was a deity hideously punished by other deities for falling in love) and this gentleman:

Demons in BF are actually noble and oppressed (see sexy gentleman in the cap above) but demons in TBL are awful but that is because SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER (hint - perhaps next time be less psycho, deities and take the deal offered.)

Winner: well, in terms of complexity, BF but in terms of twist and making fun characters to hate, TBL. So tie.

Bad Guys and/or Suckier Set of Deities:

Bad Guys in both dramas are not that exciting, but BF does has this gentleman as the big bad dude in charge:

Also, while the deities in TBL are unpleasant to say the least, deities in BF are a whole other level of gross and make Romans in Spartacus seem benevolent.

Is the main rewrite that has Marinette as the Cat holder still in progress?

Yes it is!

I am actually aiming for each chapter to have 20 pages at minimum, kinda making each one a sort of "episode" while reading. And first chapter just reached page 13, so it's getting close.

It's still not going to be posted yet though. It is probably going to be a while. I do not have all of s1 planned out as much as I like, I do need to continue rewatching s1 of ML, and consider what episodes in later seasons are really worth watching and including as some I think can just be cut/skipped. And I am still noting down future plot bunnies to try and plan ahead and to make sure there are details I can build up to.

And reworking lore and history where I think it'll make more sense. Like, Miraculous having Guardians not allowed to use Miraculous are just so odd to me.

You bring in a lot of kids to train to handle Miraculous, but not use them.

And despite these kids getting training and discipline, you don't entrust them with a Miraculous to handle situations, you trust strangers who haven't gotten the training or the knowledge about Miraculous, and just take a leap of faith that they won't abuse the Miraculous.

So it's getting changed up that the Order (who does NOT take children from families that's a big NO) train their guardians to be the heroes and protector of the world, making Miraculous guardians exclusive to use them as that's what they're trained, taught, and disciplined about.

With these being powerful jewelry pieces, which 6 can have wish granting abilities that can change reality itself, to me, it makes more sense if the Order became more about controlling them as much as possible, keep them in trusted and trained hands, knowing that who they train to be guardians will be much safer choice vs strangers they don't know and take chances on. That's reckless and potentially dangerous.

And another change is that the Order wasn't made around the time the Miraculous were, they came centuries later. Those first few centuries Miraculous traveled the world, and it was largely the kwamis who chose the heroes, picking based on potential not whether this was a good person or not, and kwamis were limited on what to do when misused, so a lot of damage can be done, which prompted the Order to be made by Miraculous holders who didn't think kwamis really knew how to pick the best holders, they decided to train people to be the ideal holders and heroes and put a lid on the chaos that is kwamis picking holders, and just literally bringing order to how Miraculous are being handled.

Anyway, excited ramble aside, yes it is being worked on. It's going to be a while, as personally, I want at least most of s1 planned and written out before posting it. And ideally, I'll have better ideas for the later seasons while I write and plan so it'll go smoothly.

Miraculous Reverse

Lore/fix/expansion/headcanon

Tackling that one out-of-place name drop and turning it from something boring and repetitive(in an otherwise really fun plotline!) into something more fitting. Like or hate her, having Chloé just be Marinette's bully in the reverse is just dull. It also goes against the overall theme of similar-but-different.

So, in trying to keep canon in mind, but twisting it up, I present to you:

Emonette's bully is actually reverse!Zoé- hear me out.

Reverse!Andre is an iron fisted tyrant. Reverse!Audrey is a harmless vapid party girl/trophy wife. Andre still very much abuses his power and Audrey is still very much a forgetful/neglectful mother.

Zoé is still the product of infidelity. It's not so much an estranged wife stepping out as a naive/foolish girl seduced by Mr. Lee. When André finds out too late, he is livid. Audrey goes 'to the country' until her 'health improves' and baby Zoé is tossed into the public welfare system.

Meanwhile back at home André is utterly embarrassed by the whole scandal. Chloé, already not something either parent was really interested in, is kept confined to the hotel and not spoken of. She becomes something glimpsed by guests out of the corner of the eye; there and gone. A rumor/urban legend starts about 'The ghost of LeGrand Paris.'

Back to Zoé- due to a social worker being careless with paperwork, and Zoé being an advanced reader for her age, she learns early on about her 'real' family. She is instantly angry as only a child can be. She should be rich! She should have power! She should have it all!

For the next several years she is a terror for foster families, orphanages, and homes for problem children. It gets to the point where she is returned to the Bourgeois(at least until Andre can fight the legal system again). Once she's there though, André doesn't know how to handle her. He's surrounded himself with sycophants for a decade. Someone who stands up to him with his own level of belligerence is alarming. He resorts to ignoring her/avoiding her and letting her do whatever provided it doesn't cause him more problems.

When Zoé meets Chloé(around 11-12 yrs of age or so), she sees someone with the life she was denied... So she takes it. She takes Chloé's name and enrolls herself in school. She claims to be the 'Ghost of Le Grand Paris', who was sickly growing up but is healthy now! She's out, proud, and taking everything she wants. This includes dominating the school, ruling as Queen, and taking out her personal anger on that easy-victim emonette.

I want to stress this is a *starting* point. This is a setup. This is where the narrative begins. Zoé is still in part wearing a mask, one she forged herself im childhood based on what she thought *should* be.

Chloé isn't some perfect angel. She's a recluse, unsocialized, isolated. (Think Mary Lennox from the Secret Garden) and libel to be a touch cross if her very tiny world is upset.

This whole thing is meant to blossom out, be discovered, and provide for some great narrative hooks.

Instead of just boring 'Chloé bad.'

Shattering Stars - by SunniMint (TMNT 03/Usagi Yojimbo) Look AmevelloBlue permanently changed my brain chemistry by introducing me to Leosagi. And I am *losing my mind* over this story. It's somehow both a Gods & Goddesses AU and a Fake Dating AU without either party agreeing or setting up anything. It is misunderstanding shenanigans and I don't think pining is a strong enough word to use here. Definitely more Usagi Yojimbo focused then TMNT, but it doesn't change the enjoyment one bit. Donatello is the funniest person in there. How does this barely have 300 kudos

Dreamwalker - by GhostyMochi (Ghost Hunt) I don't think a lot of my followers care about one of the 3(?) anime's I actually like and definitely my favorite by like....a lot. But! This is such an intriguing AU???? That I don't think I've seen in this fandom before???? And its fascinating reading all these butterfly changes and her and Naru's relationship. Actually all the character's relationships with each other which I feel like is the main focus of the story. Well that and the ghosts. There's also a bunny god

Oh, You Don't Have to Do That (Communication) - GaleDragon (Miraculous Ladybug) As increasingly out of touch I am becoming with ML, I still love me some classic Lila takedowns and GaleDragon definitely delivers with every story they write. I just love this one in particular because it's basically what if the Lila Plots happen but the class actually talks about it. Like they all know something is sus, and she's lying about stuff, and they basically gaslight her into exposing herself, and they do it the nicest way possible. It's *so funny*. That and I have special place in my heart for stories that let's these characters actually be dumb kids who all have fun and like each other and not.......whatever the TV show is doing to them

The Secret Life of Candace - by TakingOverMidnight3482 (Phineas and Ferb) The original on FF.net was one of my favorite all time comfort fics, one I'd go back to every now and then and just read in its entirety because I just loved it so much. AND THEN!!!!! It got REWROTE!!!!! And now it's so much MORE and I didn't think it was possible to love this fic more than I already did but!!!! BUT!!!!! Actually anything written by her is absolutely fantastic but I'm pretty sure the pnf fics live rent free in my head and will for all eternity. Oh yeah it's a Candance is a mermaid AU, very H2O style. I was so caught up in the euphoria of reading this fic that I forgot to mention what it's about

How (NOT) to Survive Your Pet Death Worlder - by katydid & Zyla_SweetBean (My Hero Academia) It's a Space AU/Humans are Space Orcs story. I'm a sucker for a good Space AU. All the alien designs are fun and unique, there's a certain level of horror in both the whole "being something else's pet" thing and the "holy shit our boss decided to keep something that is actively trying to kill us and frequently escapes". I don't know something about human desperation at its finest and how absolutely horrifying it can be. The rest of the series somehow turns into crack & fluff and it's *delightful*. Oh yeah....it's a 12 part series. I enjoy it so much. McDonald's gets mistaken for a religion.

Pff yeah, who needs a wish that can rewrite the whole world but has consequences, when you can just, idk, go back in time and reverse what happened (looking at you GABRIEL.)

About Alix and the time travel stuff, after the s4 finale people were like „but Bunnyx didn‘t show up to fix it so it was supposed to happen!“ and I was like ????? The narrative the writers created (by accident I assume) sets Bunnyx up to be almost god-like, she can just decide what is okay to happen and what isn‘t.

That is a completely accurate assessment of the way Bunnyx has been set up. She is God. If events happen, then they were meant to happen because God didn't stop it.

This is why you have to make extremely hard rules around time travel and use it as little as possible. It's a god-tier power and needs to be treated as such.

My two cents is this: the time traveler should have kicked off Fu going to Paris and that's about it. They should not be messing around in the main story line. They're a prologue character and a what if character. Nothing more, nothing less. Or you have to make Alix the main character and have everything be about messing with time. That could work, too.

One of the major reasons why I no longer post on FFN is, well. Let's say I get 100 reviews over the course of a couple months. 90 of them are those "pay me to draw fanart" scams. 9 are queerphobic hate comments. 1 is genuine.

The closest I have gotten is fade-to-black foreplay.

Generally no, but I do have a couple crossover plotbunnies hopping around my head.

Once someone offered, but otherwise the closest I've ever gotten is writing a fic in German for my German class, rewriting it in English, and then uploading both versions.

This is a very cute idea. I might tinker with it, if permitted. Though obvi there would not be a lukanette ending if I did, deeply platonic Lukanette though. I would tinker with one of my other Lukaships to help close the broken circuit.

I tried to write a fic about this idea multiple times, but I keep failing miserably at it... I don't think I'm going to write it anymore, so I'm sharing the HC instead.

I think this whole idea makes sense in canon-verse: as for the love-square being attached more because of "fate" instead of real chemistry.

I find this situation very unfair... for all of them.

So I was looking for tags on the cdrama "The Mermaid's Pearl" but could not find one. I wonder why is that?

Admittedly, this one is not on par with most dramas I watch. The rating on the internet is also low. I think I know why.

But if you're looking for cuteness and fluff with scenes that make you smile like hot chocolate and if you don't care much about actresses crying without tears (aka not so great acting) and bad directing skills and cuts, this could be just it.

On to how I found this. So I was looking for a quick cdrama to binge. When too tired afterwork, I have this guilty pleasure of reading through plots, watching the first few eps. Then when I get the gist, I'll leisurely fast forward or move eps looking for cute or fun scenes. You know, like living leisurely through the characters (for the sake of feeling things and pretending you got a life outside work and home).

Plot wise, tbh, I skipped a lot on this one. The plot itself is pretty simple. Mermaid girl (FL) left water to look for her kidnapped father. The ML is a rich young man who is known as a detective. He is also sick and they believe finding a mermaid will help cure him. She agreed because he has a lot of food (being rich and all) and he also might be able to help her find her dad.

Suspecting she's a mermaid (kinda hard not to) when she literally threw her pearls at him when they first met, he decided to keep her by his side.

So murder mysteries happen along the way and the guy has a fangirl/fiancee who wants to marry him. The emperor is also looking for a way to live abnormally long and orders people to go on expeditions to look for mermaids to aid that quest.

That is basically the whole gist of it.

Cuteness wise, can I just say I love and adore how the ML cares for the FL? Like, she's like a fluffy bunny and he's the master who takes care of her. They are so cute together and he also is sensitive to his own feelings so there's not much waiting. Their scenes make me laugh and just smile, thinking I want to be loved the way he loves her. : ) 🩷 Plus, it's comedy XD

At first he was telling her to stay away from him because she has no boundaries. But all too soon, he just came to accept how trusting and comfortable she is with him. He also gets jealous easily lol.

In this scene for instance, she literally just fell asleep using his hand as a pillow (like a cat) and he lets her. #Fluff

Acting wise, the ML actor, Shi An, is actually pretty good. It's just that the cuts and the scenes they were acting in are really like you're watching students' made film where quality is not the focus. So tbh, I blame the director and writer and producers more than the actors. Or maybe, that is indeed their goal? Idk. If it is then they succeeded.

Watch it if you dare, but as I said, a lot of things about it are pretty crappy. So don't expect too much.

But bottomline, I still very much enjoyed the very short cute fluff scenes between the ML and FL. :) I even replay them (just the cute scenes) when I need a pick-me-up. So it isn't so bad. At least not for me.
