why does every single surface npc in skyward sword use male pronouns
like yes the goron have bested gender and dont care about that so they default to male pronouns for ease. they're born from rocks. bam. they're all brothers. and the gorons we meet in skyward sword care more about investigation or whatnot so they're like yeah yeah just use he/him. wanna hear about the legends of old?
and kikwi just Spawn from a bush or something probably. they dont even know what gender is. link and fi default to using male pronouns for them but like. you ask them what their pronouns are and they're like. pronouns? what's a pronouns? is that like another type of zelda...? kwee...
but what's the deal with the mogma. pretty sure they all use male pronouns too. did they hear the gorons use them and go yoooo i like the sound of that!!! let's use those too!! hey Ledd use he/him for me!! sure thing Kortz! Kortz he/hims treasure!!! yoooo!!! yoooo!!!
the only she/her users in the Surface before Zelda falls down are Impa and the Old Woman....... and i guess Hylia herself. where's my hashtag feminism,
#LAST BIT IS A JOKE XNDKDKDK i just think it's funny we don't get like#more female aligning mogma. or kid versions of any of the races ig. but i suppose botw spoiled us with that#skyward sword#tortilla rambles#tortilla's zelda tag#it's just really funny to me. gendery little freaks#links chatting with the mogma and they're like yo idk what a gender is i just use these because the gorons do#and they're fun. idk kids just appear one day or something i didnt pay attention to pa#and links like. you can forgo gender?????#and that's his nonbinary awakening.#im very tired

Don't Forget (A Legend of Zelda One-Shot)
Featuring SS and ToTK
Rating: T??? Nothing too wild but see the trigger warnings below
Summary: Ten years after the Hylians established their kingdom on the Surface, Link struggles with the thought of his people forgetting his childhood home. / A millennia after the events of Skyward Sword, the weight on Link's shoulders almost brings him to his breaking point.
Trigger Warnings: Lots of ANGST, both Links are very sad, depictions of depression and PTSD, I haven't written a piece of fanfiction in like 4 or 5 years and I've never written anything for Zelda. I wrote this in like 3 hours. :)
A/N: This idea was sparked because I have been genuinely unwell about the full-circle theory where Tears of the Kingdom is at the end of the Child Timeline-- it's so different from Skyward Sword but the relationships between Link and Zelda literally hurt my heart and soul I love them your honor. The fact that both Zeldas like slept for eternity and Link is just. Stuck. Unable to help them immediately. My heart guys. It's also partly inspired by the fact that I'm currently grinding to defeat Ganondorf. Again.
When Link and Zelda left the sky to form an establishment on the Surface, Link knew it wouldn't be easy. Being on the Surface was hard enough for him just throughout his travels-- nothing but solid rock beneath his feet, the sky an unreachable distance above except by Bird Statue, it was claustrophobic at best and his body didn't handle the vast changes in altitude very well. It was adrenaline only that kept him going, and once it was gone, he spent weeks in recovery.
The same could not be said for Zelda, who, after bathing in the purifying springs and obtaining some of her holy powers from when she was Hylia, took the changes much better. He was more than happy to have her back, but in those first few weeks after she announced that the gods wanted Hylia's people to return to the Surface, a tiny spark of resentment buried itself deep in his heart-- not for her, never for her, but for the gods who had placed them in this situation.
That was ten years ago.
Of course, many of the citizens of Skyloft couldn't believe Zelda until she displayed her power in small increments, as the power itself was dwindling now that the need for it was gone. Some followed them to the Surface, some stayed.
Now, their small town had flourished and grown a bit. This newer generation on the Surface knew nothing of the Sky, and no Loftwings could bond with them down here. A few parents took their children to the Sky to see if they could bond with some, but the children couldn't handle the journey very well and no Loftwings appeared anyway. It was clear now that Loftwings were going extinct-- he hadn't seen a wild one since he was little. It was a monumental discovery, and a bit chaotic. People realized that their decision was permanent, and that one day the Sky and Surface would no longer have any connection.
As he stared out of the window on their little village, the thought of the future people of Hyrule never knowing about Skyloft made his stomach churn. Their village was nothing fancy-- stone and clay mostly made up their buildings, and it was built in a small ravine near the Temple of Time. The moon shone brightly through the trees, and the sounds of the forest animals made it almost impossible for him to sleep some nights. He missed the Sky, even years after moving to the Surface. If it weren't for Zelda, he wouldn't have stayed here.
He glanced back at his wife, peacefully asleep and unaware he had left their bed. Her golden hair was a mess and she had fallen asleep in her working clothes after helping with the crops all day, keeping herself busy to try and root herself in reality, even still. The memories of her life as Hylia had mostly vanished, but occasionally she would speak in a cryptic, ancient tongue or she would reference something that hadn't happened in this lifetime. She hadn't had an episode in a long time, and he hoped it would stay like that.
Heaving a deep breath, he grabbed his satchel and quietly left the room. He probably wouldn't be back by breakfast, but she was used to him making these excursions by now. The town was quiet as he exited their house, ensuring the door was closed behind him. It had taken him years to be able to leave Zelda alone, but he knew she was safe for the rest of this lifetime-- Demise had promised he would reappear, but not for a very long time.
As he passed Pipit on night patrol, the two shared a brief nod of recognition. He knew he probably didn't watch the house all night, but his own house was right next door and Link was certain that Pipit guarded his wife and children more closely than any other. Granted, no one had seen a monster since Demise's defeat, but there was no such thing as being too careful.
Groose-- also a sleepless man-- was sitting on his front porch when Link passed by. It was very late, but it wasn't unusual. While his childish jealousy and feelings for Zelda had both changed, their friendship hadn't. Part bullying, part joking, their shared experiences during the battles they were through had made them lifelong friends.
Groose often made similar trips that Link did, sneaking off to go to the Sky for a day or two; sometimes he joined him. Tonight, though, Groose was back from one of many journeys into the Lanayru Desert. The Hylians had an outpost out there where they collected sand for glass and found precious gems to trade with Gorons, Mogma, Parella, and Kikwis-- although relations with the Mogma were unsteady at best. They'd been stealing from the Hylian outpost in Eldin, where they were trying to help the Gorons establish a peaceful settlement. Both races only wanted to fight, however, and he worried there was war in their future, war that he would not allow the Hylians to interfere with.
Groose had volunteered to oversee the Lanayru outpost shortly after it was established. He would often be gone for weeks at a time, deeply tanning his skin. The pompadour he'd sported in his teenage years was long gone. He often talked about a permanent settlement in the desert, but Link wasn't too sure about it.
He caught Link's attention on his way out of the village. "Nightmares?" It was an unfortunate reality. The three of them even still had nightmares of that time-- he couldn't imagine Zelda's. From her descriptions of the Imprisoning War, she had twice the trauma they did. When they had nightmares, they'd escape to the sky, often returning to their old homes in Skyloft and spending time with the few who had decided to stay.
Link only shook his head. He didn't speak much anymore. Groose nodded, returning to leaning back in his chair and watching the moon. "Careful. I'm not going to bed anytime soon, so I'll watch your house."
Link nodded his thanks and left the village boundaries. Something that even still astounded him was how dark the Surface could get, and he rushed down the paths to get to the Bird Statue. The darkness reminded him of things that he didn't like to remember: visions of the Imprisoned, Ghirahim... He blinked them furiously away and bade the statue take him up.
Link's heart was heavy as he sat on a stone looking out over the endless sky. It was quiet, and peaceful. He sat on the uninhabited side of the lake, facing away from the abandoned structures and few lights. Overgrown, fading away, Link hated the thought of his home becoming unimportant. More so, he hated the thought of losing his bird.
She sat beside him in all of her crimson glory, preening her feathers. He stroked her neck lovingly, knowing that one day, she would be gone, and his final connection to the Sky will be lost. Red was his only means of getting here, and she was blissfully unaware of this fact. "Promise me something," He whispered, "When someone with the Spirit of the Hero is reborn again, stay with him. In whatever form you can take."
Red paused, almost as though she could understand him. Inwardly, Link briefly wondered if he was crazy for talking to his Loftwing so much. Their eyes locked, and Red leaned her head into Link's chest with a soft call. Link wrapped his arms around her head and started to cry, unable to control himself. He longed for the old times, for what could have been. The peaceful life he had imagined for himself when he was young was a cold, painful dream now, and even though he knew he should be grateful for what he had, he couldn't shake the unhappiness in his chest that lingered day in and day out.
Taking a small chisel out of his satchel, he let go of Red and moved off the rock, turning to hammer into it. It was a project that he'd been working on for days now, and he was almost finished.
Dawn had arrived when he blew the dust off of the stone. He ran his fingers over the letters, proud of his work. Exhausted and unable to get rid of the hurt in his heart, he leaned his head against the rock and closed his eyes, taking a moment to try and gather the willpower to fly back to the Surface.
"What are you doing now, sleepyhead?" Although Zelda's voice was gentle, it startled him anyway. He whipped around, shocked to see both her and her purple Loftwing standing behind him. She hadn't even changed, and warmth slowly crept back into his limbs. Slowly, the awful, worsening emotions of the night were chased away by her presence, her beautiful smile and the thought that she'd left the house so quickly to come to him.
It was always worse when he was alone.
When he was away from her.
Link let out a tense breath as his body relaxed, rushing to her and enveloping her in a tight hug. "I'm sorry--"
"Shut up," She cut him off quickly, and he couldn't help but laugh. Just having her close made everything okay. "I know. You don't need to apologize." She gave his torso a tight squeeze, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Want to show me what you're working on?"
Link stepped back, turning toward the rock and gesturing toward the inscription on its surface. "I'm not done yet. At this rate I'm only getting one word done every couple days."
Zelda leaned down to read it, crossing her arms against the morning chill. "Please don't forget..." With a sigh, she stood up, facing the rising sun. The thought of Skyloft being forgotten hurt her too, but she was much better at accepting things than he was. "They really are going to forget one day." In silence, they watched the sun rise; Link put his cloak over her shoulders and pulled her close to his side.
"One day," She suddenly specified, and Link briefly struggled to make the connection. She looked at him, smiling. "One day they will forget. But we won't be here. It won't be us. Do me a favor: try to live here, and now. Forget about the rest. It either hasn't happened yet, or is over and done. All that matters is right now." She took his hand in hers and held it tightly.
Link planted a lingering kiss on top of her head, closing his eyes and realizing that she always smells of Skyloft's meadows in spring rain. At least, she does to him. "...I'm trying."
"I know. Sometimes that's all you can do."
They sat and watched the sun rise until it was well above the Cloud Barrier, but they didn't return to the Surface. They didn't return that day, or the next, and when they did eventually return, they made weekly trips to the Sky from then on, forcing time into their busy schedules to enjoy flights around the floating islands. Link soon forgot all about the stone he was carving, and he never did finish it.
~Millenia Later~
Link sighed as he forced down the final bite of a half-hearted stew of mushrooms and venison. It was tasteless. The fire crackled softly, but it did not relax him. He barely felt the warmth of it at all. He was numb, numb and tired. So very tired. His whole body hurt and his heart ached. The Master Sword on his back was heavy, and his tunic and leathers felt restrictive. He was overwhelmed and exhausted.
He'd tried. He'd solved all of the regions' problems in Hyrule and obtained their avatars. He'd explored the depths and found Mineru's robot. The most tasking of all was finding the Dragon's Tears, the memories of his beloved Zelda who had been thrown back in time 10,000 years and now had permanently lost herself to her dragon form. She was gone. If Mineru could think of no way to save her even with her vast and ancient knowledge, then how could he? He'd lost his first love to Calamity Ganon, and now his second was forever lost because of him too. And when he'd tried to end him, he wasn't strong enough.
Link barely escaped that chasm beneath Hyrule alive-- he visited a fairy fountain and started on a journey to find all of the shrines he could, getting as strong as he could possibly be.
And he still couldn't do it.
In frustration, Link hurled the bowl across the campsite with a yell. Who was going to hear him? He was all alone, save for his horse. Epona snorted in alarm at his outburst, raising her head and huffing in his direction. "What?" He snapped, though he knew full well the horse couldn't understand him. Across Sky, Depths, and Hyrule, he kept getting stuck in shrines that should be easy.
He initially tried to calm himself, but decided not to. There wasn't anyone around he needed to keep his stoic act up for. He instead drew his blade and stormed into the nearby patch of woods, destroying any keese or chuchu that dropped from the trees in his path. When he'd expended his anger and all that was left was grief, he stumbled out of the other side and fell to his knees by a pile of ruins that had fallen from the Sky.
The tears came unbidden as he collapsed on a mossy stone, and he let himself sob as loud and as hard as he wanted to. He missed his friends, he missed Mipha, he missed Hyrule as it was before the Calamity. He missed his family. What had ever happened to his sister? He still had never found any descendants of hers. Most of all he missed Zelda, he missed her with all of his soul and then some and it was painful. Maybe it was she was so close, and yet so far.
Why does he keep fighting? With Zelda gone and with Ganon's incarnations always returning, what's the point anymore? He wanted to disappear. So badly, he wanted to leave and never come back, vanishing into the wilderness.
As he calmed, he tore at the moss absentmindedly, ripping away until it was gone and his fingers were stained green. Sniffling as he leaned back, he wiped his face with the back of his hand and noticed something... odd.
The rock's surface had an odd etching in its surface, but it didn't look like Zonai script. Zelda would want to see it. Curious, he used the Purah Pad as a light to better see it in the half-dark of the night. His eyes widened. It was Hylian. A very old version of it, he had seen it in Zelda's books. She'd gone on an excited tirade a year or so ago about it when she'd found an ancient tablet describing the founding of Hyrule, though she could barely read it. Shifting closer, he struggled to remember how to translate it. He'd learned it so that he could write her letters for her to practice, though it was so long ago and so much had happened that his mind was scrambled.
"Please... Don't... Forget..." The stone was so worn that he couldn't make out anything else. Link hummed thoughtfully, taking a picture of it-- he winced when he realized that he'd automatically thought of showing Zelda, who wasn't here. He stood, eyes on the inscription in the rock for a moment longer. He felt like it was important, but he couldn't place why.
Unexpectedly, his blade lit up with a soft noise, a magical sound it rarely produces. Zelda always said it was the spirit of the blade. Confused, he reached back to grab it, expecting a dangerous enemy to approach from the treeline when something caught his eye.
A Silent Princess.
Link's heart twisted at the sight of Zelda's favorite flower. Instinctively, he reached down and made to pluck it, but stopped. She would smack him so hard if she were here to do so. An endangered flower, remember? I need to leave it be.
The distant call of a dragon brought his attention upward, and his heart skipped when he saw a familiar outline on the horizon, backlit by the painfully beautiful dawn. "Zelda," He breathed; she rarely flew this low.
Please don't forget. The words on the stone, the sight of her, the flower, the sword whispering-- his heart raced. A few stray tears rolled down his cheeks. "I'll keep trying," He managed, "I made you a promise. I'll keep trying."
On the horizon, the Light Dragon shrieked low. He knew there was no way she could possibly hear him, but it felt like an answer. It's all you can do, she would say. He could almost hear her voice.
Filled with new energy, Link made his way back to his campsite. He packed up quickly, putting out the fire and making sure to retrieve his only bowl-- although he couldn't find his spoon. He would have to make a new one. As he stuffed his supplies in his saddlebag, something sharp poked his finger; he yanked the item out of the bag in a panic, expecting an insect or lizard, but was surprised at the sight of a long, red feather between his fingers. He made to throw it away, unsure of how it got in his bag, but stopped; maybe if he saw it again, it would remind him of the rock. Please don't forget.
Epona turned to look at him, nickering quietly. Link stuffed the feather in his bag and wrapped his arms around her head, hugging her tightly. "Even if all my friends are gone, at least I have you, Epona."
As though in answer, she whinnied loudly and he laughed, giving her the apple in his pocket that he knew she wanted. He clambered up into the saddle when she was done and the set off at a gallop for the distant glow of a shrine on a nearby cliff, eager to fight another day.
Maybe, when this was all over, he might find a way to save Zelda after all.
Okay guys. Look. It's been a very long time since I've written any fanfiction. And I don't think I've ever written anything for Zelda. I know this is different from my usual content, and I don't know if I'll do something like this again but I might. Let me know what you guys think!

This is a scene from one of the best things I’ve ever read, book or fanfic, Blind, But Now by aperplexingpuzzle on ao3 (currently @ghirahimbo here)! I cannot recommend this story enough!
If a legend is a regal and intricately woven tapestry, hung on a distant wall, then BBN is that tapestry up close. It takes the legend and lets you see the threads, lets you feel the texture. Every knot, every spot worn smooth over time. The story sees both the original image and the pieces that make up the image. It looks at how the journey weathered the tapestry, looking at the broken threads, the frayed and discolored spots, and sees an image made all the more beautiful because it doesn’t just tell the story of the legend but the story of the tapestry.
This scene really gave me such a deep, almost physical feeling of the heat and immensity of the region. It stays with me and is one of the first scenes that comes to mind when I think about the story. I was hoping to catch a little of that, plus the overall feeling of their encounter, that edge of potential. Potential danger and potential.. something else.
#I keep trying to go back and edit it while I’m posting it#I tried so hard to do credit to the story#which is amazing#but I haven’t really made art since ..high school?#a very long time#but I am amazed by the community here and really wanted to contribute something#and to TRY something#I kept thinking I was really messing up Plats#but every time I checked the reference image from the game I remembered that he’s just LIKE THAT#I also mostly relied on memory for the location#so I hope I didn’t forget anything important from the story!#loz#skyward sword#link#ghirahim#mogma#plats#my post#my art#I can’t believe I’m actually using that tag!!#blind but now#fanfiction#aperplexingpuzzle

Ancient Hero’s mask pt. 1
(1-2)
A lil comic about ancient masks… and curses. While the Ancient Hero’s Aspect armor is super handy upgraded, why he gotta give me that thousand yard stare?
I thought it would be fun to put a little spin on how the item might be used in a real life function sort of way, and seeing as form changing masks of lost spirits already exist in Majoras Mask, why not make the Aspect behave the same? The three parts of the decorative belt make up an owl, a dragon, and a boar, symbols of the Triforce’s virtues, so because it’s the hero I went with the dragon face as the mask design!
Featuring the fit I mostly wore for Link, as I found the Cap of the Wild early by complete panic induced accident and refused to take it off the rest of the game. Everything dyed black or grey for color coordination of course (I’m bad at color matching, it’s why I never color my lineart lol)
The Aspect itself is an interesting design for sure. Perhaps some kind of zonai or hybrid? Who knows. Maybe he’s an evolved mogma
Whatever he is, I doubt the citizens of Hyrule would recognize Link (less than they already do). There’s room for shenanigans there!

[Image Description: two panels of artwork depicting the Ancient Hero from “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”.
The Ancient Hero standing between a Zonai and a Mogma, presumably his parents.
Three drawings, done in shades of green, showing the Ancient Hero digging with Mogma Gloves; since he can’t dig like a normal Mogma can. He digs his way to the surface, and comes face to face with Princess Zelda.
End image description.]
The Ancient Hero’s Heritage
Personally, the Ancient Hero’s design has always bothered me, it felt odd, out of place. So, I wanted to see if I could find a way to make him more likeable in my eyes. I started thinking of what he could be. At first I thought a Hylian/Zonai hybrid, but that wouldn’t explain where the tail came from, or his digitigrade legs.
Finally, two weeks ago it hit me, a Mogma/Zonai hybrid. The statues we find first in The Depths look a lot like the Mogma of Skyward Sword, so I theorized that The Mogma lived in the Depths for thousands upon thousands of years, adapting to a darker home, or maybe it was their home all along. Eventually, the Zonai would meet this race and work with them to mine zonaite, forming a close bond.
When The Imprisoning War happened, a small group of non royal Zonai were still in The Depths, and managed to survive for 10’000 years, their numbers slowly dwindling until there was only one left. This survivor would fall in love with a Mogma, and create a wonderful being, who would become, Calamity’s hero.

I hope y’all enjoy this small passion project of mine! I was very excited to make this and seeing it finally done makes me very happy. Have fun with my little dirt goblin

This is the first post of may to come regarding items from the LU boys adventures, particularly I want to talk about items o would love to see mentioned in fics
We're starting off with Legend because he has a ton of items:
From alttp:
- cane of Byrna (creates a magic shield around him)
- cane of Somaria (creates blocks/platforms)
- magic cape (makes him invisible and immune to enemies)
- golden bee (attacks monsters, this one is just hilarious)
- Ether, quake and bombs medallions (I just think they're neat)
From the oracle games:
- seeds
- rings
- roc's cape
-Magnet (this one makes more sense in regards to FS link technically being magnetic in the game)
From link's awakening:
- Magic rod (works like the fire rod in a way, I love that he just has a rod for everything)
From ALBW:
- Hint glasses (to see hint ghosts and they're just so funny)
- Sand rod
- Tornado rod (the potential is unmatched)
From Triforce Heroes:
- Fire gloves (I haven't played this game but why did no one tell me he has gloves that shoot fireballs and create a fire shield, his potential for arson or an item of his being stolen for arson has increased exponentially)
- Water rod (he does have a rod for everything)
Okay, now onto Twilight
- Ball and chain (the mayhem wild could cause if he knew Twi has that thing)
- water bombs (you're telling me twilight has bombs that work underwater and we haven't made a single fic regarding that yet)
- Dominion rod (I just think it's neat, and we've seen it in the comic but barely in fics)
- Spinner (I love the spinner, imagine just a fic about them being in a random dungeon and all they need to get out is for him to spin on it in a mechanism, it's hilarious)
Next one is Hyrule:
From LOZ1:
- Magical rod (he has one as well, or is it actually legend's 🤔)
- Raft (dude legit used this to cross rivers, imagine he just pulls it out of nowhere to cross one, crackfic possibilities are unlimited)
- Stepladder (same as with the raft)
From Adventure of Link:
- Handy glove (everyone has power gloves or bracelets, this dude has a glove specifically for smashing stone blocks in dungeons, just perfect)
- Cross (it's a regular cross only it reveals invisible enemies that look like spirits, definitely not religiously inspired at all 😂)
- Link dolls (they have both fun and creepy potential)
Now onto Sky:
- Mogma mitts (he can dig and go through underground tunnels)
- Hook beetle (I love it and I think it should be more used in fics, put some respect on its awesomeness)
- Gust bellows (it releases wind gusts, think of the possibilities for fun fics)
- Whip (he has a whip, that's it, he's the only one in the chain who has a whip, he can use it to grab things and activate mechanisms that are far from him)
- Fire shield earrings (he's impervious to high temperatures)
It's Time's turn:
From OOT:
- Megaton hammer (let him smash things please)
- Hover boots (he can hover over nothingness with those)
- Golden gauntlets (these are used to extract pillars from the ground and throw them down so they break, destruction potential unmatched)
- Shard of agony (it allows you to see secrets like passages or locations, and it does it by releasing a low sounding tune the closer you get, the creepiness potential is amazing but it's also really useful)
- Din's fire (he could join the arson club with this ability)
- Nayru's love (he's now protected from damage until his magic energy runs out)
From Majora's Mask:
- pictograph box (he and wind can be pictograph buddies)
- Bremen Mask
-Blast Mask (let him blow things up please)
- Bunny hood
- Keaton mask ( imagine he just randomly makes a Keaton spawn, answers the question and gets a heart container to heal someone)
- Mask of truth (I love it's potential but it's always eclipsed by the lense of truth)
- Stone mask (you put this on, and guards just ignore you, 10/10)
- Gibdo mask (imagine time just walking up and casually chatting with a Gibdo)
- Giants mask (as the name implies, he becomes a legit giant, only it does rely on the magic meter)
Next up is Wind:
From Wind Waker:
- Telescope (let the pirate use his telescope)
- Grappling hook (he's the only one that has one and that is in addition to a hookshot)
- Pictobox (let him take pics you cowards)
- Deku leaf (he can use it to glide like Wild's parasail, or to release wind gusts)
- Skull hammer (let my boy smash stuff)
-Bait bag (I'd kill for a fic where the chain witnesses Wind mind controlling a seagull please)
It's now Four's time:
From Minish cap:
- gust jar (suck in air, release gusts of air...)
-Cane of pacci (I've seen a fic I think appreciating it and I think we need to tal more about it, it flips things over, Four uses it in holes in the ground to get propelled upwards)
- Mole mitts (he can dig now)
- Roc's cape
From Four Swords:
- Magnetic glove (because they're magnetic apparently, it's hilarious)
- Hammer (let them smash things up)
From Four Swords Adventure:
- Bombos and Quake medallions (yes, he uses those two in this game, imagine him just seeing Legend pull one of them out and he's like "oh, I used those in one of my adventures" and Legend is now having an even bigger crisis regarding Four)
And finally Wild:
I just think we don't dive into the potential of the elemental weapons in BOTW, that's all, and the Sheika tablet cryonis is one of the least exploited in fics (as far as I've seen)
I've been informed Warriors does have weapons, I want to see him use the ball and chain or the hammer now

Oh look! I escaped containment! Update Entrance | part 2
So normal dungeon size. Would be cool to see what the different floor look like and for what reason the temple had been used in the past. Could there be references to one of them? An old inscription telling one of the Link’s legend?

-
Oh yes the reason Hyrule Warriors isn’t a canon Zelda game…and my personal one-sides beef with Aonuma! The timeline would be so much easier…
Anyway, Hyrule Warriors features some dungeons, but you just run and fight the hoards of monsters.
Love the their shock faces! And then there is Time. Don’t know if the side eye is because Time is the most stoic 3D Link, or because my boy is going through high level stress?

-
Interesting piece of LU lore! Either that or Wars purposely mentions Ganon.
Cause, technically, Cia started the War of Ages. Yes she was under the influence of Ganon, but it was her obsession that also lead to the events in HW.
And that, snuck under Ganon’s snout is not true for all of them.
Time literally played into Ganondorf’s plan in the first half of Oot. (In MM, if you look at Skull kid with the telescope. Majora will always look at you, what means they know where you are)
The same goes for Legend, in a Link between Worlds. Hilda had asked for his help, only so she could have the Triforce of Courage. Meaning that they had to be watching him somehow to make sure everything was going according to plan.
And also, I think that Zant had an eye on Twilight, not sure if from the very beginning or at some point in the game.

-
Yes recurrent items. I wonder if Hyrule has already left something hidden somewhere, for a future hero to find? The hero to follow would be Warriors so, has he any items of Hyrule?
Interesting enough, Twilight’s hero’s clothes are often said belonged to Time, because Ordona made the comment that the green tunic belonged to an ancient hero. But it makes more sense that there actually belonged to Sky, since Time isn’t an official hero in that timeline.

(Some other example of what Hyrule said, would be:
Four’s Gust Jar -> Sky’s Gust bellows
Four’s Mole Mitts -> Sky’s Digging mitts/ Mogma mitts
Four’s Small Shield -> Wind’s Hero’s shield
Four’s Cane of Pacci -> Legend’s Cane of Somaria/ Cane of Byrna
Twilight’s Ball and Chain -> Warrior’s Ball and Chain
Time’s Hero’s Bow -> Twilight’s Hero’s Bow)
-
Twilight saw the opportunity to bite War’s ego and took it! Meanwhile, Four worries about some enemies only found in dungeons, why is he the only one who cares about his brother getting badly hurt?
Wind is clearly screaming inside.

-
Nice call back to when LU hasn’t had a storyline!
This part could be also mean that some of the doodles can be taken as Slice of Life parts, though some of them still hadn’t taken place yet.

-
Hyrule knows that it is important to know the enemy and be prepare. Like that about his character, as much as he likes to goof around and get lost in the world, he knows when to take things serious.

(He might quote this even from his game? His text does read like something an NPC in game would say.)
-
Legend‘s little prank here is a good way to show the captain how it’s feels to be grabbed by a Wallmaster. So no blame to the Vet, this might be even good.

Hi!! Just here to say that I really love your work! I’m also a big fan of the Unwritten Details tag. I was wondering if there were any NPCs in the games who you have some thoughts on that you haven’t been able to share yet?
In general, Tingle concerns me. I don't think he's right in the head. Anyone wearing that much spandex in that small of a size ought to be given a mental-health checkup.
It is my personal theory that the Mogma from Skyward Sword become the Subrosians from Oracle of Seasons.
Until it just got confirmed as canon in Echoes of Wisdom, I had a theory/headcanon that the different species of Zora were representative of being freshwater(green) and saltwater(blue) diversifications.
On the other hand, a crack theory I have is that Maud from Triforce Heroes is the designer for Yuga's outfit in Link Between Worlds.
And back in Echoes of Wisdom, I have a lot of thoughts about our non-player Link. He's a confirmed-mute Hero, might actually be the first confirmed-mute Link. Or at least, the first one where the game just came out and said 'Yeah no, he can't talk.' And I'm very happy for him getting his voice back in the end, but ohhhhhhhhh do I have Consequence ideas for that boy. I'm convinced he either knows Sign or invented a version of Sign. Lux is about to have a new best friend.

Little Devils That Live Underground
I want to put a spotlight on an old enemy we haven't seen since ALBW release. He might help us solve a mystery!
Goriya
Their first appearance dates all the way back to the first game in the series. They are described as "little devils that live underground. They use boomerangs to attack."
Canine-like darkness dwellers who specialize in throwing... Could the Mysterious Statues leading to the Abandoned Central Mine in Tears Of The Kingdom perhaps be Goriya?
Why would the statues be some old forgotten enemies? Wouldn't Mogma make more sense since they're friendly?
Let's take a closer look at some Goriya.

Red Goriya appearance in Zelda II. It's common for Goriya to be depicted with a raised arm to throw. (super sorry about the quality) This pose reminds me of the pose the Mysterious statues are carved in on the tablet Josha had you reassemble.
Red Goriya artwork for Zelda II compared to the sprite version. Goriya are known as one of the few enemies across the series capable of speech and reasoning. In Zelda II there is a hungry Goriya blocking your path until you feed him. Not all Goriya are aggressive.

Goriya fighting alongside Moblins in Zelda II. (Artwork source: Arts and Artifacts Dark Horse Books.) They don't seem to be little like their description says.
This Goriyas armor reminds me somewhat of the Barbarian armor...

Not exact, but they give similar design elements and silhouettes.
The Mysterious statues appear to hold Brightbloom seeds rather than Boomerangs. Which makes sense since these ones supposedly mine the Depths. Is there any creatures in Hyrule more skilled at throwing than a Goriya?
Speaking of boomerangs let's look at the in game descriptions for some boomerangs in both botw and totk:

First Pic is from BOTW Second is from TOTK
These boomerangs are massive and a challenge to handle even for Link. I'm assuming they aren't made for Hylians or perhaps even by Hylians given how RARE they are in TOTK. There's only a small handful of places on the surface you can obtain them from. Lizalfos and Moblins are now seen using them in battle.
Interestingly, the Giant Boomerang spawn points in the Depths are also specific to certain areas on the map, just like all the pristine weapons made by the other races of Hyrule. Pristine Giant Boomerangs can be found in the Faron region, Tanagar Canyon, Gerudo Highlands, and Eventide island in the Depths.
Eventide island particularly interests me because I believe the island is somewhat of a reference to Koholint Island. Where, most recently in Link's Awakening Remake, a friendly Goriya was introduced! He's a secret so keep it from everybody.
He trades your shovel for the boomerang at the end of the trading quest in that game. This ls the most recent appearance Goriya have made in the series. So maybe not as forgotten as we thought... just secret.
Green Goriya made their first appearance in ALTTP and more recently ALBW. The Goriya in these games behave quite differently. Rather than chasing you with boomerangs, they mirror all of Link's movements to block his path in a few Dark World/Lorulean dungeons.
I cant think of any other enemies across the games that mirror Link quite like that and isn't a boss like Shadow Link/ Dark Link.
Could the Ancient Hero's Aspect be the spirit of a Green Goriya cloaking Link's current Hylian shape? Green Goriya variants, since introduced, always mirrored Link rather than throwing boomerangs.
What about the Mogma?
I think the Mogma are prehistoric ancestors to Goriya. They do share a lot of similarities, like living underground and being canine-like.
TLDR: Goriya are the Mysterious race of people depicted by the statues in the Depths and that they could've decended from Mogma. Their races' unique weapon is the Giant Boomerang.
