Alright so after the Mighty Nein Reunion, I've written up fjorester fic rec, part 2! Sorry this took me so long, just in time for the end of the year!

Hands down, one of my favourite fics I have ever read. It's a Fjord and Jester childhood friend AU. There's sweetness, there's pining, there's first kisses, and they're very in character and part of me wishes this was canon because its so well done.

This one always puts such a smile on my face! She's written so many great fics, but this one has always stood out to me. The inter-party dialogue is spot on. If you want a great example of Fjord's 7 wisdom stat, you will appreciate this one!

I love a good modern AU, and this one is SO good. Her writing always feels so in character (I had to rec her twice) and this one makes me nostalgic for early campaign 2. I also really like the modern take on Fjord and Jester's backstories!

I loooove this one. It's a Little Mermaid AU, and its got such a magical feeling to it. I really do feel like I'm reading a fairy tale whenever I go back and re-read it. I think the amount of times that I've re-read it speaks for itself.

Your First Fandom: Star Trek, Star Trek, Star Trek! Though I'd never shipped before ST ENT (Everyone who's read my Breaking The Ice will know that it's partially an ode to *THE* ship.)

Your Current Fandom: I'm writing in The Rings of Power fandom, currently, which happens to be the first fandom that I'd decided to try my hand at writing in for strange, roundabout reasons.

How did you first get into fandom?: I've never identified myself as a fan, despite my deep love for everything Trek, and I hadn't realised that I'd got into fandom until one thing led to another and I was reading ungodly amounts of Trip/T'Pol fics. I'm still in denial...

How long have you been engaging in fandom spaces?: I'm *still* in denial :D I'll always be in denial.

How often do you read fanfic?: Currently, as I'm writing, I'm afraid it's very little. I love all of you, dear fellow ROP writers, and if I've not read your works it's not a slight, it's more that my brain is too small to read and write simultaneously, most of the time.

Top three characters from your current fandom?: Halbrand (Sauron), Bronwyn + Arondir (yes, @iamstartraveller776 I'm stealing your answer, you can't have one and not the other), Elrond

Have you ever written a fic for a fandom and if so, shout it out!: Since I've only ever written in The Rings of Power fandom, all my self-shout-outs are going to be there, but so far I sit at 23 fics. Some examples:

From TROP - Galadriel is Sauron; she found a poor dumb idiot who had a crush on her to do her bidding. Oh sorry, did we say *feel strongly about*?

You’re trying to convince a friend to get into your current fandom(s) with you. what episode, clip, or scene are you showing them?:

TROP - I don't feel super strongly about my friends getting into it, as I'm not a perfect fan of it despite all the writing, but I have shared my fanfics on occasion. Result: people learn about AO3 and then tell me all about strange niche things they discover in other fandoms. It's a joy.

What if.... Mojo Jojo kidnapped courage and bubbles come to the Rescue Instead of Blossom gets kidnapped by Mandark and Dexter rescues her? courage gets kidnapped by mojo Jojo by bell's plans. Meanwhile, Mojo Jojo was in his lab and put courage into a coffin that filled itself with water so he would drown. bubbles broke in and the great battle between her and mojo began. Thankfully, courage has a  powerful lungs, so Courage has been shown able to survive underwater for prolonged periods of time. but he unsure how long he could hold his breath much longer. so courage is fighting back for his life.

Storyboard break down!!! (pt 3 of ?)

Continuing again! SPOILERS STILL UNDER THE CUT

^^^ In the last part, we left off on the top half of this page, with Brick saving Blossom in the knick of time. Now we get into the first instrumental part of the song. Please bear with my explanation of this, it’s a bit hard for me to explain the sounds. We leave off on the “dunnnn” at the end of the chorus (I think it’s a keyboard that makes the chord?). Then it moves into a part where all the instruments play parts of the chord at once, pause, and repeat that for a total of 4 times. I denoted this with “boom”. After theres a light chiming sound like a mix of a keyboard and a xylophone - “tinkle da da da”. I used the “boom”s as a turning point - part-transition, part-stage setting for following parts. With that in mind, at each “boom” there is a snapshot of the Reds, Greens, and Blues respectively. During the rests/pauses between “boom”s the screen will be black (or maybe white), followed by the final “boom” with the appearance of Him. I want to convey how Him is kind of behind the scenes, manipulating things and ever-watching, as well as lead the transition into the following part with the vortex. I am considering obscuring him with a spiral of smoke (inspired by many of his appearances in the original PPGs), or having him kind of retreat into darkness where only his glowing eyes are visible.This leads directly into the next page…

^^^ This is where my explanation will get even more confusing. The guitar solo starts, I broke it up into onomatopoeic variations of “new” and “na”, where “new” is a longer sound than “na”, and capitals indicate the down beat. The first 3 panels I broke down to “NEW na na, NEW na na, NEWW”. We have the Girls standing in Him’s little pocket dimension (with the vortex) in a circle, back-to-back, while the camera moves around the circle to look at each of their faces. It starts with Buttercup, then moves to Bubbles, then Blossom. The next 3 panels focus on the Boys (na NEW, na NEW, na NEWWW), with a black screen on which 3 different “screens” appear one after another, on the down beat. In Boomer’s portion of the split screen, he is underwater in the dark. In Brick’s, he is inspecting the words on the wall “This Is Yours Now”. In Butch’s, it’s a closeup on Buttercup’s and his back leaning against each other, with the lower parts of their heads visible. At the glissando of the guitar (idk if thats the right term on guitar, but its right for orchestra so *shrug*), the screen goes back to black. In the next panel, the music goes back to that first pattern “NEW na na”. The scene jumps forward a bit to Buttercup and Butch sitting back to back again, as Butch is beginning to turn his head around.

Continuing with the pattern from before, the full pattern is “NEW na na NEW na na NEWW” (the last panel from the previous page and first two panels here). Followed by that second pattern “na NEW na NEW” but shifts on the third part to like “NEWEEWW” instead of “na NEWWW”. In the last 3 panels it repeats part of that last pattern with “NEW na NEW NEWEEWW”. Throughout this page, is the scene where shit turns ugly. Butch turns more fully, we see Brick’s hand going into his chest, and Butch looks down in disbelief. Blood spills, and Butch starts to fall backwards, his wound opening more, and he grabs onto Brick’s arm. He screams, and the last panel of the page is Buttercup hearing him and taking off to find him.

The song goes back to vocals. The shift i made in terms of content is pretty abrupt, but it also is in the music itself. I’m thinking about ways I might be able to ease that transition a bit more, but if anyone has suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

The line when the vocals start up again is: “And I was so young when I behaved 25″. I want to make use of that line and the fact that these kids have been shouldering adult-level responsibilities since they were 5 fucking years old. We see the girls at 5, then the boys at 5. I wanted to either do a newspaper photograph style thing with the girls at an older age next, or the statues that were built in their honor. Not sure which to go with yet, tho. For the boys, I either want to have them standing with Mojo Jojo and Him looming over them - their expectations, manipulations, etc, or have the standing with like shady silhouettes with a big “JS Inc” in the background. Between being professional “field agents” and having Mojo Jojo and Him for parents, I’m not sure which would make someone grow up faster. The next line references a previous line saying, “Yet now I find I’ve grown into a tall child”, and since I had used the previous “tall child” line to express the Girls’ emotional vulnerability, I wanted to mirror that with the Boys. In order, we have Boomer incapable of not blushing with Bubbles, Butch having FEELINGS over Mitch’s photos of Buttercup, and (continuing on the next page) Brick watching as Blossom dances in his shirt. I’m going to change his pose in that frame. vvv

^^^ The next line for the middle 4 panels goes, “And I don’t wanna go home yet”. I wanted to pair this line with another 3 brief scenes/snapshots of the 3 couples interacting when they didn’t want the moment to end. The Blues holding each other from the first time Bubbles and Buttercup went over to the Boy’s apartment, the Reds dancing at prom and the hook (i have to fix the angles and stuff of the legs), and Buttercup asleep on the floor with Butch sitting next to her. This bings us to near the start of the second chorus, so I stayed with the Greens. The following line is “Let me walk to the top of the big night sky”. I chose the asteroid scene for this line. In the left bottom panel, Butch is on top of Buttercup. She opens her fist against his stomach and brushes her hand up to his chest. In the next panel, she gently pushes and he rolls off of her.

^^^ Continuing from the previous page, the first 3 panels finish that line. Skipping forward a smidge, Buttercup lies on her stomach by Butch’s head as they clench each other’s forearms. In the next panel, Butch spits out Buttercup’s hair to try to blow it out of his face as it dangles down. He opens his eyes and the camera shifts to first person, Buttercup smiling down at Butch with the night sky in the background.

Second chorus! Jumping back to when Buttercup was asleep on the floor next to Butch, he brushes a finger against her lip, applies a little pressure and she sighs. He scooches back, flustered and alarmed. I thought this paired well with “Leave me”, because I feel like this is one of the few time where he did something spontaneously without really thinking much about it, and he is left completely shaken and overwhelmed in an emotional way. (After the Greens’ first fight, Brick says “I hope it was worth [the punishment I’m about to inflict on you]” and he replies that the satisfaction of his disobedience is always worth whatever punishment he gets, he’s not even phased by it). With “I can’t breathe” we see Buttercup reluctantly dare-kiss Brick, and Butch’s jealousy and anger over it. I always imagined that in the second she kissed Brick, Butch unconsciously held his breath from feeling so tense and upset.

Normally I’d continue with the next page, but there are actually a considerable amount of blank panels on the next page, so I think I will make another part for the next couple pages with blank panels. Maybe some of you guys have some ideas for what you’d like to see there?

Santa's Toy Monster Attacks (2011)

Merry Christmas, DA!

For my 2011 Christmas Card, I decided to go with a design involving Santa Claus sicking his toy monster on a naughty kid.

This piece was by far this most ambitious piece I've ever done. I looked back and saw that I posted my first draft of this piece in my DeviantArt scrapbook on June 29th, and I've just completed it finally on November 12th... Dang.

I am really proud of this piece, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

*wink* You wince *jeojang* you wake up screaming. You’re sweating so much you could have taken a shower in your own sweat…das nasty…but it was only a bad dream. Again. You’ve been having those bad dreams ever since you saw him on tv. He was evil. He was haunting you. His cringy ass aegyo made you scream every night….and not in a pleasurely way. The screams his aegyo caused you were screams of agony and pain. The secondhand embarrassment was so strong it caused you physical pain. 

“It was just a dream.” you reassured yourself. 

You looked at your watch. 11:45pm. He wouldn’t let you sleep through a whole night for the past 8 months now. You needed some air. You put on your clothes and just started walking in the dark. You werent afraid to walk alone in the dark bc your dad is mister miyagi. U the real konfu panda. 

You stop at a gas station. Honestly you don’t know why you stopped either considering the fact that you’re not in your car right now. You just felt like the gas station was calling you…like it was calling “ayo sexy mama come visit this shop”….and you couldnt resist the call. Once you entered the gas station shop thing you see him sitting in a corner…John Cena…jk it was Park Jihoon. 

The sweat starts dripping down your face. This is a dream right…this can’t be real. This has to be a dream you reassure yourself. I’m gonna prove to myself this is a dream, you think. Your sleep deprived head thought it was a good idea to run into a wall….bc you can walk through walls in dreams. To your surprise the wall felt a lot softer than expected but it left a headache. 

“Are you okay?” Jihoon, who was now kneeling right next to you asked. 

The anger you held back for 8 months had to be released so you started screaming at him.

[Phuur]: Oh? Oookay, zhen. *she is handed a blue and gold Gnomish microphone as the Gnomeade Gnomes pick up their equipment and smoothly depart. Phuur then takes her spot center-stage. The sapphire blue curtains haven’t raised yet, but all three Alliance performers smile when they hear the Cathedral Square crowd begin to cheer and chant*

[Roary]: Wolf-howls, and laughs mischeviously. *the curtains raise, Gelica sends the first golden guitar riff sailing. Phuur and Roary spin side by side, then drop to their knees in a dramatic synchronized dance move. Then, holding onto each other with real emotion, Phuur curls over her microphone and begins to sing in harmony.*

Blood Elf “Fiesta Lime” Trixany is at the helm in her bright blue and green Kaja-captain’s hat, looking very ill and leaning on crutches. The fearsome Orc known as “Shuga Slam” is wearing an Admiral’s hat and red, studded shoulderguards. She’s bracing Trixany up from the other side. Shuga then raises her Goblin megaphone device.

[Shuga][Yells]: Lok’tar! All this pure, white, colorless stone... This place is SO bland, isn’t it, Flava-Girls?
