It's time for me to take a step back from Tumblr, officially. I haven't posted fics on here for a good while, though I've been wanting to, and I think its time that I finally throw in the hat.

Tumblr used to be a great place for writers to share their work but, for the past few months, it just feels like a creativity farm. Creators, whether writers or artist, or other, have been made to feel like cattle who produce work for people who show no gratitude.

I've seen posts of people asking for fics of a certain show/film, character or trope. "We need more fics of *insert character of your choosing*!!!!!!". So writers make it for them. They put effort into coming up with ideas, to writing the fic and making sure its true to character, true to the source as much as possible, and as much like the request as possible. And then they post it.

And then they get a like.

Now don't get me wrong, a like is great but it is not a show of appreciation. Liking a post means exactly that - you like it. A reblog is a sign of appreciation - a way to thank the person for making this work. You don't need to leave a comment or a tag in the reblog, the reblog itself is enough.

I've seen so many creators posting about the lack of interaction and being called entitled, and then see them lose motivation. Its heart breaking. Its heart breaking to see these talented people lose the love they had for their passion because people feel entitled to ask for that work and then show no appreciation.

I'm fortunate enough to not have personally experienced this. However, seeing the way others have been treated has demotivated me. Looking back over my fics and looking at my like-reblog ratio has demotivated me.

I'm just tired of the way creators are treated on here.

So I'm going to go, for now. I'm not even going to attempt to write for this site anymore because this is not the community that I signed up for. I'm going to go back to my original crappy writing site (I love it), writing for my original crappy fandom (I love them) that inspired me in the first place and hope, pray, that they can bring back that spark, that love, I had for writing.

Maybe then, once I have that spark and once creators, of all types, are treated right on this platform, I may return.

I will continue to read the amazing fics that are posted here, I will continue to appreciate my fellow creators by liking and rebloging your work but I'm taking a step back, officially, from creating for this site.

Azriel headcanons

Since I'm working on too many fics and not finishing even one, here's a list of random headcanons I have about our favorite shadowsinger. Seriously, they're very random.

I have so many more, but I didn't want this to be too long lol. Let me know if I should write more of them.

If it weren't for his scars that make it impossible for him (it'd probably be really uncomfortable), Azriel would wear rings. And I mean a lot of them, on both hands. Very slutty of him if you ask me. This is how I imagine it to look like:

And necklaces as well. Like silver little chains and similar.

Azriel is 100% a cat person. I don't think I need to say more, we can all agree on this, right?

The shadowsinger can sing, we all know that. But my current obsession is him playing the piano. He probably learned while healing his hands when he was a child because it helped with coordination. He's really good at it, but he doesn't play in front of people. Only for you. (I wrote a fic about this: Play It For Me)

He has a very neat handwriting. Again, he had to practice a lot after his hands were burned to use them properly again. I picture something like this:

He's the kind of "monster" that eats pizza with a knife and fork instead of just cutting slices and using his hands (I'm Italian, I'm allowed to say this). He would also always stick to the same pizza, never changing the topping too much (relatable). He'd probably keep it simple, with mozzarella, black olives, and maybe anchovies if he feels extra.

Since we're talking food, if you are out on a date or just eating at a restaurant or whatever and you order something you end up not liking, he's swapping your dishes and giving you his. If you do like it but you also like his a lot, then he asks you if you want to share and eat half of each.

He's not a cocktail guy. Here as well, he likes to keep it simple: whiskey, brandy, wine if he's eating, and beer if he's hanging out with Cassian. If he does drink a cocktail, his go-to choices are Black Russian, gin and tonic, Old Fashioned, Manhattan, and Negroni (which might be an Italian cocktail, I'm not sure).

Oh, and he loves coffee. Black, no sugar, no cream. Mostly espresso, but also full mugs of it, especially in the morning.

Azriel loves turtleneck sweaters. Leather jackets are another favorite. When he's out, he mostly wears black or dark jeans, but at home? Sweatpants. Those infamous grey sweatpants we all love. Again, very slutty. He bought them without thinking too much about it, but once he saw your reaction to him wearing them, they became his favorite piece of clothing out of everything he had ever owned.

On the topic of clothing, we know he mostly wears black, but we also know he loves Winter Solstice. He could be easily convinced to wear one of those ugly Christmas sweaters, especially if you bat your eyelashes at him. He can never say no when you give him doe eyes. He'll complain about it, but he secretly loves it, even more so if you're wearing a matching one. The first three are nice and simple and cute, the other two if you want to embarrass him a little (but he still wouldn't say no):

Same goes for Halloween. Couple costumes? He's down. Would he admit he likes it? Probably not. Would he refuse to do it until you're begging him to, just so he can see your cute pout? Absolutely. And of course, he lets you do his make-up.

He smokes. Not much, just 2/3 cigarettes throughout the day, but it can be more if he's stressed or nervous. (Just imagine the hand in the first picture with a cigarette, it's just the perfect position already. I don't smoke and I can't even stand the smell, but I would honestly let Azriel blow the smoke in my face fr)

*Sequel Announcement*

Hello all! I’m just going to get right into cause I’m so excited to share with you all my new project I’m working on!

As we know, I just finished Finding Memories a few weeks ago. A series I was really proud of and I’ve definitely been seeing some personal growth in my writings after re-reading that one and a few others I’ve done recently. 

All this to be said, I’m actually working on a sequel to Finding Memories and I’m so excited to share it with you when I finish it! 

However... I really want to get this one right since I’m switching up my writing style a touch and adapting to different perspectives. Because of that, I’m trying to do what every writer struggles with, (all my writers on here understand), and finish the series before I publish any of it. Again, I’m changing my writing techniques some so I can really give you guys a story with great connections, wholesome details, and an attempt to not create any plot holes haha!

Gonna put this under a read more so I don't clutter anyone's dash :)

1. Are you named after anyone? Nope. My mom wanted to name me Kasandra Carmel and my dad said no. Then my dad wanted to name me Tiara and my mom said hell no. So my aunt suggested Brianna.

2. When was the last time you cried? Probably September. Im pretty much all cried out and I'm just numb at this point.

3. Do you have kids? Yes, I have 2 young kids.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sarcasm is my first language.

5. What's the first thing you notice about people? Probably the kind of vibe they give off. I can usually tell if I'm going to be able to tolerate someone within a few minutes.

6. What's your eye color? Hazel

7. Scary movies or happy endings? I am a scary movie whore! give me all the horror movies any day of the week!! I have to be in the mood for happy endings.

8. Any special talents? I can make some weird sounds and I can light a bic lighter with my toes. think that's about it.

9. Where were you born? Olympia Washington

10. What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, working out, attempting to be crafty, journaling.

11. Do you have any pets? I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 axolotls, and 1 jumping spider.

12. What sports do you play/have you played? In order from the time I was little through high school I did ballet, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, skateboarding, wrestling, powerlifting, basketball again, and rugby.

15. Dream job? I would love to own an exotic animal rescue. I wanted to be a vet my whole life but junior year of HS I discovered I suck ass at chemistry so that killed that dream. Pretty much anything where I can send time with animals and not have to deal with people would be ideal. Plus I always want to love on the dangerous animals like big cats, bears, snakes, and everything else in between. My dad actually begged me not to grow up and work with animals because “I don’t want to get a phone call that you’ve been eaten by a tiger or a polar bear because you were cuddling with it.”
