So did Howard just not write that part of Battle Lines? And does she not read what she works on?

I know this is far from the only issue people have noticed in a 2-month storyline that's only 3 weeks in. The whole Mama Cat thing just pokes at my annoyed-at-the-mommification-of-Selina-Kyle button.

My reasons for wanting a YJ season 5:

1- I need more Artemis

2- Can't get enough of Stephanie Lemelin's voice

3- Artemis is hot

4- Batwoman being involved in a plotline or something

5- Are Garfield and Perdita ever getting back together? I really want them to.

6- Unrelated to 5, when is YJ introducing Raven? Season 5 would be the right time imo

7- What's going on with Mary and Rudy West?

8- Is Wally ever coming back?

9- I want more Icicle Jr.

10- I want to see Bruce Wayne in at least one date with Vicki Vale (because she exists on Earth 16, right? Right?)

Hot take, but Artemis is unfortunately not as hot as she once was due to unfortunate writing choices and the even more unfortunate 'mommification' that YJ likes to do to some of its female protagonists. On the other side, YJ refuses to do this trend to Zatanna, which is why she is all the hotter. This is why Zatanna is in the top 5 and Artemis, unfortunately, has lowered in personal rank. She's still in the top 10 tho.

Bone Dry! The ancient Aztecs are perhaps most well known for their preservation of human life through the process of mommification. Due to the heat of the Aztec desert it was common for many people to die of dehydration, so ancient doctors began circulating IVs filled with preservatives through dehydrated patients blood streams in order to help prolong their life. This process often preserved the patients in the state of their dehydration they were already in, turning them into skeletons basically vacuum sealed by their own skin until they died many years later of old age. The process eventually fell out of fashion and eventually the became the myth we know today as The Mummies.

Gosh you’re so right when you talk abt the mommification of Artemis. It’s like the writers think every 20-25 years old women want to settle down straight away and start to give birth on the spot or smth. M’gann got married which, fine. Makes sense, actually. But Artemis’s season 3 plot annoyed me to no end bcoz the parenting arc is like… Rly lazy writing and overall just a messy sexist plot point when it’s not done right (and it wasn’t done right). And then there’s Raquel and the writers deciding that her being a mother was the only personality they would ever give her in 4 seasons. It kinda sucks

Viva Zatanna, though. Queen of not settling down and actually being at a realistic point in her life, contrary to the other 3 main girls who are supposedly in their mid-20s but act like they’re actually 35

You get it, anon. I have a deep dive rant about Artemis and how they mommified her but I won't get into it because it really frustrates me. Also, like can we mention how our first real chance to spend time with Raquel, and her plot (minimal as it is) revolves around an issue she's having in raising her son. Idk I would have liked to see miss girl do something a little more fun.

As for Zee, based on her arc behavior, I feel pretty confident that Zatanna is in the mentality where she couldn't give less of a fuck about kids 😂 She deadass just sacraficed her proteges for her own needs and just assumed they'd all go along with it, and she let Mary go off and be evil with Granny Goodness so 🤷‍♀️ Good for her.

I have this headcanon that when chara was in the process of mommification toriel and asgore were there ( kinda like traditional japanese rituals or so) then when toriel burried them she put some crayons and asriel dust in their hands.

O i never considered the concept of mummification! Interesting interesting. i had assumed Chara was delivered to the ground without any preserves and thats the reason why the tree theyre buried under cannot hold leaves ( ya ya something about the organic body altering the tree even though from a decomposition standpoint, the body is good compost both organically and in cremation! Maybe the tree is an altered kind that can be disturbed by large amounts of nitrogen or something.)

though it could explain why toriel was able to steal their body away from the casket while Asgore wasn’t looking ---- unless we consider rigor mortis also yuck. I know its around 1-2 hours until a body settles into rigor mortis (the stiffening of the muscles), and then rigor mortis itself can last anywhere between 20 to 54 hours I heard, which is only around 1 to 3 days but still well enough time before the actual decaying sets in ( though the organs decay within that time, visible outward decay besides lividity is not!)

I honestly never considered post-mortem for Chara besides funeral-wise, I think the farthest I thought was just of them being decorated post-mortem before being delivered to the caskets.
