Wow, they just kept fighting. And the Hunter, the eternal idiot is seems, has decided that, instead of using his fucking Bow with Blast Arrows, or maybe even using a Dragon Piercer Arrow, he needs to go with the MC to kill a spider-scorpion. The ones that come in massive swarms because spider logic.

Another half point deduced, making this a total of one point, for how stupid this writing is. 1.5/5

Half a bonus point removed for the MC only helping the Hunter because of Spider-Scorpion Cave, and another half point removed for their differences being resolved over a chocolate bar. Total, 1.

Anderson steht seit über 20 Jahren für mehr oder weniger gelungene Videospiel-Verfilmungen.  Er zeichnet sich nicht nur für “Mortal Kombat“ aus dem Jahr 1995 verantwortlich, sondern ist Produzent und Autor sämtlicher Real-Verfilmungen der Videospiel-Reihe “Resident Evil“. Bei vier der bisher sechs Filmen saß er zudem auch auf dem Regiestuhl. Wie auch beim Cross-Over “Alien vs. Predator“ ist er bei MONSTER HUNTER Regisseur und Autor in Personalunion. ▪️ MONSTER HUNTER ist eine Verfilmung der gleichnamigen Videospiel-Reihe aus dem Hause Capcom. Ich selbst habe bis heute noch nie “Monster Hunter“ gespielt und so fehlt mir entsprechendes Backround-Wissen und auch die spielerische Erfahrung mit oder in der “Monster Hunter“-Welt. Dies nimmt mir somit die Möglichkeit, den Film mit den Spielen zu vergleichen. ▪️ Milla Jovovich ist in der Hauptrolle der Artemis zu sehen. An Ihrer Seite spielt Tony Jaa den Hunter. Ein weiteres bekanntes Gesicht ist Ron Perlman, den man u. a. aus “Blade II“ oder den ersten “Hellboy“-Filmen kennt. ▪️ Die Inszenierung ist eigentlich gut, bietet gelungene Actionpassagen und kreatives Creature-Design. Der Auftakt ist mitreißend, auch wenn er Logik und Story fast gänzlich vermissen lässt. Auch das Ende ist effekt-technisch ansprechend umgesetzt. Das Problem des Filmes liegt dazwischen. Dem Mittelteil fehlt es deutlich an Substanz und so empfand ich Teile des Films schlicht überflüssig oder langweilig, da sie für die eh dünne Story irrelevant waren. Auch der zum Teil sehr aufgesetzte Humor war meist wenig lustig. Wow, it really should have stuck to the mindless action. The Hunter has been introduced, and instead of what any reasonable hunter would do, they're just an asshole. Fire a flare? No. Hunt the damn Monster? No. Let the dumbass MC wander around an abandoned ship? Nope. Knock the MC out and tie the MC up just to take the MC back to their base? Highly illogical move that would get anyone killed. So obvious the Hunter does exactly that.

The added half a point from the US military being dumb is lost, because the main characters are even fucking dumber. I may remove more points for this fact later. 2/5

Two bonus points have been removed for the two main characters being absolute asshats to each other. Total, 2.
