August 2024 Monthly Devlog
Hello everyone, happy August! 
I hope you all are having a good summer! I'm relieved that things are finally starting to cool down...

What did I do?

For The Perfect Woman, I finished the cover art and ran a casting call! I wasn't sure if there would be a lot of interest for this call, and I was so honored to receive so many talented auditioners. I reviewed the auditions and selected the VAs, and they recorded their lines for me! I'll say that they really knocked it out of the park and transformed the script; I'm really looking forward to showing off their lines.
In addition, I completed most of the assets for The Perfect Woman, including the main sprites and the ending CGs.

I completely finished the Hanasu script! Considering I started it almost right after I finished Karamu, it's been a long time coming... This month alone I wrote almost 30k words for it, bringing the total script total to 65k (which is almost three times the length of Karamu and Kanau COMBINED). I sent it for beta testing and implemented the revisions, and I also revised the script twice more on top of that. After that I prepared the lines for the VAs! Due to its length, Hanasu will be partially VAed this time (I'll say it'll be about 60-70% fully VAed). All of the VAs have confirmed, and the recording is underway~ (I'm SO excited to hear them!) 
Now that the Hanasu script is completely finished, I can move on to making assets! I've fully outlined all of the art assets that I need for the game, and I'll probably start on them sometime this month.
I also did some Actala CGs and BGs, and I also continued working on a script for an unannounced yandere project!
What's next for August?
For August, I'm hoping to fully complete The Perfect Woman for release at some point in late August or early September! After that, I'll be shifting my art focus to my other current in-development projects (Actala, Hanasu, and The Deepwater Witch). 
On the writing side of things, I'll be scripting a couple of secret projects that I'll be tackling later this fall, in addition to working on updates to the Actala script.

Game progress: may 2025

A year ago, I posted the last Monthly Update of my previous project before it was abandoned. Today, I'm proud to welcome you to Trunkload's first update. And I'm even prouder to say I'm further along than I've ever been on a game.
Writing: The game is divided into five chapters. I already have a detailed outline of each of them. Now it's just a matter of turning those bones into scenes! Coding: Chapter 1 is progressing well, and I’m giving myself a one-month deadline to finish coding it entirely. Art: If I counted right, there are about twenty backgrounds to draw. As for the sprites... let’s just say I stopped counting for my own sanity... Sound: My friend and talented Opusblame is helping me with the OST. We���ve got a first complete track and several more in progress. You’ll get to hear them one by one in the future.
Thank you for sticking around, especially if you’ve followed me since the last project. I hope Trunkload will surprise you and maybe haunt you a little. I’ll keep posting sneak peeks, sketches, polls and more so stay tuned.

Hello hello, everyone! And welcome back to the Mid Monthly Report.
Since I wasn’t able to post one for last month, I’ll be combining the April and May reports for this month. It’ll be a pretty short report this time, so without further ado, let’s begin.
Project Progress

Hope you’re ready because it’s just a few more days until Log 1 of An Immortal Laid to Rest releases! I’m working on getting an RSS feed set up so folks have an easy method to keep up with chapter releases when they come out. In the meantime, I’ll see you next week for release day!
Change Log
New Things
Overhauled the Immo:Res gallery:
Folder structure of the gallery has been redone for easy of organization.
Thumbnails for artwork are now smaller in size for easier loading in browser.
Thumbnails now also enlarge slightly when hovered over instead of bringing up entry name.
New artwork has been added.
Things to be Added
Images need alt text in order to aid users who may need a screen reader.
A site wide audit should be conducted in order to determine the website’s accessibility.
Goals
Here are my goals from March:
Get webpages prepared for Log 1 release [done]
Send early-access readers their copies for feedback [done]
Write 2 chapters for Log 2 [wrote only one chapter again :”^)]
Post about Log 1’s release day [done]

So... Hi?
Lol! It's been a while hasn't it guys? Definitely too long. I won't lie, I was meaning to update you guys in the beginning of July to announce that I was still kicking and alive. But time just got away from me and well--

So this is gonna be a rough, quick and dirty update while I still have the mental energy:
Overall updates to the Game
The Prelude has went from 93k words to 131k+ words.
UI has changed [again].
I'm hoping the saves will still work but im having the testers try it out to make sure it'll transpose.
If the saves are broken ill look into ways to try and patch them so no one has to start over.
Episode 1-Part 1 of the update is around 88k words (im rough-balling cause I don't remember where its at.)
I'm not gonna go fully into the additions and changes, I'll leave that for the changelog. But I have added some additional choices and am still doing so.
I just hope that there's enough content for you all to enjoy.
Clerical Updates
Incorporating beta testers comments into the game.
I've been working with the beta testers and they've pointed out a LOT of bugs for me and even some places where I could expand the stories plot.
Let me tell you guys, they have truly been a boon in this process and I really have to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their help.
Just working with different designs and trying to find ATOH 's 'face' if you will.

Happy March! Hope you're all excited to welcome spring! Lowkey burned myself out last month from day job shenanigans and trying to do a lot of things, so my plan this month is to relax after releasing Froot Basket: Dark Chocolate's update. My birthday's this month anyway too, so I'm gonna take it easy haha.
Cover Model polls are up on social media now if you'd like to vote for next month. I'll drop the outfit/theme poll for patrons tomorrow to stagger posts a bit.

Other Goals this Month
Wrapping up a zine project and still working on commissions, but I'd like to relax. Chill. Catch up on some manga or tv shows or something. Maybe finally finish Baldur's Gate 3. 
I'll drop some "Kaimanga" stuff I've been working on. I'm considering developing Fleeting and drawing the Kaimana comic at the same time since both projects are related to each other... In any case, it'll be a fun space adventure!
Next Month
I'll pick up development on Froot Basket White next month. Froot Basket White is the third and final chapter in Momo's story. It takes place after Froot Basket Valentine and players will assume the role of Jordan once again. I had worked on some assets for it previously, but I'd like the script to be more solid before I start working on more assets again. Here's some of what I'd worked on before:

Devlog #1 📚 The Very First Devlog

We announced Truth Scrapper with a beautiful trailer this month!!! The response has been absolutely incredible, thank you so much for following me on another funky memory adventure. Throughout the development of ISAT, I have written monthly devlogs on Steam, talking about the making of the game. People liked them a bunch, so…
That’s right. It’s time. For the Very First Truth Scrapper devlog!
In case you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I am the creator of timeloop RPG In Stars and Time, and now am working on my next game, memory visual novel Truth Scrapper. It’s gonna be a good one.
Alright! Development talk time. Where’s the game at?!?!
So, right now, I have just finished writing the script for Day 4, so I "only" have the art, code, and implementation to do for that day. Truth Scrapper is divided in 7 days, with three different routes you can go through from Day 6 onwards. So really, I need to write and code 11 days. Which puts me at almost ⅓ through development! WOAHRGH!?? At this point, I know where the story is going, I know what each route will consist of, etc. I just don’t know the Details. The portraits are all done, backgrounds are done sequentially for every day, gameplay is all figured out… TLDR: It’s In Good Shape!!!

TRUTH SCRAPPER TIMELINE
DEC 2022: I finish ISAT around NOV 2022. I get an idea. I write it down. It was going to be an RPG but nobody got time for that. Main themes and ending are here. I work on pre-production very slowly over the next couple months (because I am recovering from finishing ISAT and still gotta keep working on post-production stuff for ISAT)
JULY 2023: Ok fine let's make a renpy file and figure out if the most important gameplay thing can be done. AKA: can I make a book menu where the game remembers the choices you make, and how complicated is that gonna be for me to add to it down the line. It works and I am happy

AUGUST 2023: Character design. They look Not Great and character design takes me like nine months. Plot is getting somewhere though!
NOV 2023: In Stars and Time comes out. People like it I think.
MARCH 2024: I decide I need to work on something, and decide to work on that and apply for the Ontario Creates grant. This game is actually starting for realsies!!!!!!!
MAY 2024: I actually lock down character designs.
JUNE 2024: I hire Dora, who was the producer of In Stars and Time and who rules.

Llama's devlog
Hi folks! I decided to start making at least one monthly developer's blog for all followers, whether they are subscribed to Patreon/ko-fi or not, to let people know what I'm planning for the month, and where the demo is in term of progress.
For the past few months, I've been focusing on adding content the existing chapters, taking a pause from continuing chapter 5. The major change done is that the one-personality-trait choice that defined Mordred's dragon friend has been turned into a system of four archetypes, which have allowed me to better flesh out the character.
I've been working on editing the existing scenes with them to reflect the changes, as well as extending those scenes, and adding altogether new content which I'm very happy about. They are also a romance option now!
I'm working my way through chapter 3 now; I've made changes up to the secret meeting between Mordred and Arthur, and the subsequent confrontation between him and Morgana, in her POV. The dragon friend related changes aren't the only ones I've made: I have also sprinkled in some more dragon lore, and the dragons themselves are overall more present. There's also just general portions where I've upgraded the prose, or even added new tidbits. And we now have a quick character creator to jump directly into chapter 3.
This is all added in the private beta of the demo, available to all tiers on Patreon.
As for the Patreon extra content I'm working on this month, we have:
-Knight tier: A short story from Galahad's perspective; set soon after chapter 3 on the route in which Mordred has been trying to befriend him. The young squire, now returned to Camelot, is grappling with his doubts and trying to squash them down.
-Champion Knight tier: This month, Patreons have voted for a short story featuring Mordred and Gareth! The polls that will define their relationship is still ongoing - there's about twenty hours left! - and soon after I'll be posting the poll to choose Mordred's personality. 
Ko-fi has all of the perks above, except for the fact that the Champion Knight tier doesn't participate in the polls.

This is it! The final public update of SoS until it’s fully completed. :) I’m not quite sure when the game will be completely done, but I will definitely let you guys know a date when I’ve figured it out!

It’s a little weird now that I won’t be updating monthly anymore, but I’m definitely excited to get this story finished and out there for you all to enjoy! There will be multiple endings that depend on how you play Sin and what choices you make throughout a playthrough, which is probably why SoS is actually going to be much longer than DP. [And I said SoS would be shorter than DP, HA HA. 🫣] But anyway! I’ve got the rest of the story roughly planned out and will be going in within the next month or so to really define the rest of the chapters so I can get you all a rough estimate as to when the game will be ready! 
So! With that, I will see you all next month for the devlog.

two monthly devlogs in a row. when i say we r BACK
Hello beloveds, the time for the monthly devlog is upon us.
This past month I focused on art development, as I said I would in the last devlog, so let's jump right into it! (yeah, that's right. we're keeping it short and sweet this time.)

As I mentioned before, writing would progress a lot slower in the coming months to make room for faster art development. This month, I mainly handed off routes to be edited.
So Kuna'a's second arc is currently being reviewed for developmental edits (and Wudgey is a superhero and has actually finished most of the big dev edits, meaning once I review those and we do one last pass, Kuna'a's LAST arc will be the only thing that needs to be edited!).
Etza's route has also been handed off to Allie for line editing. So as we make headway on that area, we approach the last route being DONE and ready for our Early Access release!

Now for the area I focused most on this past month: I finished a sprite recently for one of the side characters. I teased them in the last devlog as a silhouette, but here we can see a close up of how the sprite has come together!!

It's been so long since I've completed a sprite aosdjfoaisj. These assets take me the longest to create, so I always lowkey dread them LMALIJ. And especially with how stunning the OG design was from Saf, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do the character justice. But I'm really happy with how it's come out and excited for you all to see them in game!
I've also been working on updating the other sprites after finishing this one since I was really happy with how I rendered them! I finished updating all the LI sprites---nothing major but just adding a bit more dimension to them ^^

As you can see, it virtually looks the same, I just added more shading and rendering to the sprite. I've received comments in the past saying the sprites didn't really match the rest of the art for the game, and for a while I sat on these comments to decide whether I wanted to change up the look. And while I didn't want to change anything major, I did start to feel that the rendering at least was a bit faded compared to the rest of the assets.
While I do love the soft look, I do feel like the updated versions are a bit more cohesive with the art assets while staying true to my usual art style! Hope you all like it too \o/ ((because this is permanent I already merged the rendering layers LFAJLFISJLDFIJ))

We also entered beta testing for Etza's route this past month!! YEEAAAAAAAHHHH.

Reception so far has been positive for our sweet angel, and if you'd like to try out their beta, it will be available on my Patreon (Hydra Tier) until we enter beta testing for the Early Access build, which will contain all four routes!
Finishing Etza's beta was honestly a huge weight off my shoulders because it really means we're That Much Closer to an EA Build. In the beta versions, I do my best to make them virtually the same as the completed version with camera movements, sprite expression changes, etc. The only things missing are the actual art assets.
And since coding expressions, movements, transitions, etc. can be so time consuming for me, having the bulk of that completed for all four EA routes is a huge relief because most of the foundational work is already done :')

And then because I finally can have an actual normal life now, I've been able to squeeze some gaming time in. So of course I returned to FOM and got to unlock THEIR DRAGON

Hello hello, everyone!
Welcome back to the Mid Monthly Report! I’ve been quite the busy bee this last month, so I’ve got some exciting things to share with you. So without further ado, let’s get started!
Project Progress
I am proud to finally reveal the cover for An Immortal Laid to Rest — Log 1!

Seeing the cover finished is now making this project so much more real. I think I’ve said this in every MMR now, but this really is a dream come true. And real soon, I’ll be able to share this with all of you. An Immortal Laid to Rest — Log 1 will be available to read May 17th. It will contain six total chapters that will be releasing weekly starting with the release of the first two chapters: May 17th — Chapters 1 & 2 May 24th — Chapter 3 May 31st — Chapter 4 June 7th — Chapter 5 June 14th — Chapter 6
After Log 1 is completed, I’m aiming to release Log 2 for Fall 2025. I should have a significant portion of chapters ready by then, it’ll just be getting illustrations completed on time.

Convention Sighting
I will have a table with my friend @headfullofgalaxies at ChargerCon’s Celebration of the Arts. It’ll take place on March 29th, and I’ll have prints, buttons, and zines available for sale. So if you’re a Huntsville resident, come say hello!

13/04/2025 Devlog
You know what is amazing? Sometimes I go into my update file and realise I wrote an ENTIRE UPDATE for tumblr at some point and *never posted it*
It's been a while since my last update here because, well...that happened. 8D
Anyway I'll jump into the state of things regarding WSC now! Buckle up!
Summary Bullets:
Most of it can be summed up in "I released Episode 3/Chapter 5"
Working on some accessibility fixes
Starting on Episode 4/Chapter 6
Art:
I'm not going to go into too much detail since the episode I was doing stuff for is already out anyway. But yeah. Lots of art for the Chapter 5 release. CGs, sprites, background cut ins, etc.
Also, fun fact. The BG is finally  nearly done. Unfortunately I had to have some of the BGs redone again for various reasons so the background situation is just a bit of a disaster. Ha ha.
But the end is in sight. Woo!
Writing
Plotting and planning the POV scenes for Chapter 6. That's it really.
Other Stuff:
Obviously Chapter 5 is released. I went through the whole process of beta, corrections, early access, fixes, public release.
I think my last update here was when the chapter was right before beta and the update I wrote but never posted was from when it was in beta.
Well. Yeah. Now it's out.
I had to do a couple of small patches to fix what were minor coding issues that were having  notable visible bugs.
And now I'm working on fixing some accessibility issues with the self-voicing. Some of that is on me - not adding alt text here and there to image buttons and not making sure the re-designed customisation page made sense if you were having it read to you.
But one thing I've learned also is that the self voicing is handling the tooltips in WSC really weirdly. There has been a whole saga with trying to find out what is going on and finding a fix for it. 
Some friends helped me find a sort of hack-y fix for it so it seems to be working now (the flowcharts were a big issue.
So yeah. Working on getting that fixed.
Upcoming Weeks:
I have a few more accessibility things to work on related to self voicing and then I will probably push another update to the current build.
Beyond that, I will start working on the non-asset-driven aspects of the next episode. As always, I will not be adding any new visuals or content for a while yet but will be focusing on things that don't require new stuff (like sprite expressions).
I will also probably start writing the POV scenes that will go out with Chapter 6.
That's it for now. Chapter 6 is a bit shorter than Chapter 5 and won't have CGs.  But it does require two new sprites and, of course, I have to write the POV scenes for the events of Chapter 5.
I'm hoping I can get it done a little faster. But we'll see.
