I love how so many of J.A's protags are disabled. glokta, monza, shivers, craw, probably more in later books. I'm not disabled yet so I don't know what it's like but these protagonists are in pain most of the time, if not all of it. it's brought up in every chapter they narrate because that pain stays with them all. of. the. time. because that's what it would be like to survive those injuries, live with those issues. and I don't know I can't think of another book I've read with a disabled protag where the author never lets you forget about their pain or their disability to such an extent.

The Toll Of Revenge (Best Served Cold Spoilers)

A huge part of BSC that I enjoyed was how the toll of revenge is shown for all the characters. Monza ropes characters into being in her little crew, and they all suffer because of her desire. Shivers loses his eye, Monza gets even more beat up, Day and Morveer, etc. Revenge affects all those around you, is what I think it’s trying to say. And in the end, it’s a hollow victory.

If I miss reading a book one day I can't start again for a few weeks, and I finally continued 'Best Served Cold'

So I stopped just before I met Vitari, Eider and Cosca. Damn, Cosca's POV isn't something I expected, but I like it all the same. Especially the way he acted and felt when he saw Monza, again.

I am kinda sad that Cosca didn't stay with Glokta. Also, who told Monza that he died in Dagoska? Didn't Vitari met him at the University?

And now I am unsure of Benna. I liked him in the first chapter/prologue, but Cosca and he didn't like each other despite Cosca raising them. He also said that Benna was 'scheming', hope it's just some beef between father and son.
