Hey, I've been using this for fun and fanart but this time indulge me talking about some work I also did out of fun and love: Anzuelo.

Anzuelo is my new graphic novel, and so you have an idea, I started this in 2020. It took a fairly long chunk of my life.

The synopsis reads as follows:

"The Sea, secretly more complex than anyone imagined, rises one day. The horizon folds as the Sea absorbs the world and transforms everything that's been pulled inside it. Three kids find themselves unmoored and lost, but brought together by the physical and mental changes wrought by the tides and a desire to avoid harming any living creature.

A gorgeous and brutal story that revolts against the notion of violence as the only response to a life without hope."

It's a long environmental-horror book in which I tried to write a love letter to the Sea. 300+ pages all hand-drawn in watercolors.

I wrote and drew this alone, with the help of a couple of friends: David Brothers, editor of the book, and occasional therapist xd. And Luis Yang, who has assisted me cleaning the pages and was a big help preventing this to take forever. I wouldn't have made it without them.

Also big thanks to Image Comics for supporting me always and especially with this crazy project, and for their policies of freedom and decency when it comes to creators' rights.

Anzuelo will reach local comic stores on November 6. You can ask you LCS for it with this Lunar code until Oct 14: 0924IM243. It will also be on other independent stores etc... on November 19.

It's a new beginning!

Hello children,

September is coming, school too for some of you - often a great moment for a bit of decluttering and a few new good resolutions. Here am I, offering myself as one of them!

As you hopefully know, I started this blog in 2016 and have been a private tutor since the beginning of the pandemic. I have room at the moment for several new students, so here is what I offer:

Classes, obviously - the typical schedule is one hour a week, sometimes one and a half, or one every two weeks, or two every two weeks; typically same day same time (I'm always happy to make adjustments if you work shifts)

Homework, if you can make the time for it. I typically prefer it to be finished by the middle of the week so that I have time to take a look and correct it, giving you the opportunity to give it a second try before class!

Depending on your preferences, either just a few activities so we can take our time, especially if you are a beginner, or something a bit more dynamic consisting in five to ten minute long activities to keep you motivated and alert (which seems to be a crowd's favourite as most of my students are neurodivergent).

Talking activities are typically answering series of questions I share from my Notion, talking about your week, summarising a book or a movie, making me guess a word or a person, or a concept I call "alien talk" where you explain something (like a vaccine or insurance) from scratch to a little red man.

Writing activities are often fictional (I have students create a little character on a website and we write an update about their life regularly), they can also be an overview of your month, a letter to quit your horrible job or convince Snoop Dog to marry you because you are a gold digger.

Transcribing activities, especially at the beginning, are either me reading very easy sentences so you can write them down and memorise the way things sound, then it's episodes from young children's shows, extracts from very famous movies, then we hit harder and turn to gameshows or podcasts.

Translating activities, from one language to another, are a written translation of the first page of a novel (I did the Secret History recently), or a newspapers article (we are working on this one at the moment); or an oral translation of songs lyrics, fairytales, children's books, muted captioned playthroughs of your favourite games on Youtube, etc.

Finally, a few games: silly quizzes, crosswords, Wordle and even Quordle, hangman, and sometimes we even sing if you're comfortable with that.

I try to make the activities fit your preferences: get me a list of what you like and that is what we will work on. If your first language is not English, I am happy to include it, I'm always eager to learn (I've been reviewing my Spanish this way!)

I work without cameras. I don't need to see your face, I just need a voice and a good Internet connection. All students are welcome, no matter if you have an accent, a stutter, or disabilities. Do not be afraid of being judged, there is none of that here.

I ask for your contact information to be able to do my billing, no one else sees it and no one will know if you give me the address of a building in your area if you feel more comfortable this way. If you prefer to have a lesson first and decide that you want to continue before sending me your info, that's also an option.

I have a student and a regular rate, depending on what you can afford, and we can make different arrangements if your country's rate makes it too difficult, I've done it before.

Basic Magical Hero Terminology 🌙

Hi everyone! Welcome to Mahou Planet's first guide on our tumblr page!

Before I begin, I'd just like to give a couple of regards:

I forgot to clarify that this main account is almost exclusively ran by the owner of Mahou Planet, Georgia. Unless stated otherwise, Georgia is usually the one writing these posts. I just like talking in 3rd person since I want to sound a bit more professional yk?? (psst say hi to me in the comments im so cool)

Now that that's out of the way, let's jump into the guide!

✨️ TAKING IT SLOW

Wether you're a beginner magical hero who has no idea what they're getting into, or an advanced magical hero who has likely heard these terms in their sleep, magical hero terminology is important to know when you're in the magical hero community. Without understanding some basic terms, you'll have no idea what magical heroes on Wattpad, Discord, etc. are talking about when they post. Let's take things slow for this first post and go over some terminology!

🌙 TERMINOLOGY

Magical Hero (MH) -> A magical hero is.. well.. what you're becoming!

"BUT GEORGIA!!! WHY DO YOU USE MAGICAL HERO IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE MAGICAL GIRL!!!" You can use magical girl as well, a lot of people in the community use that term as an umbrella term. There are some people, however, who want to become a magical girl but do not identify as a girl. For instance, I may be afab, but I identify as genderfluid. I use both magical girl and magical hero, but that may not be the case for others!! Some may use magical boy, magical enby, etc. That doesn't make them any less of a magical hero!

Concept -> A basic explanation of a concept is the type of a magical hero you're becoming. Magical heroes can be from any show, franchise, even your own original concepts! Some of the common ones I see are Precure, Madoka Magica, and Sailor Moon, though personally I've seen a lot more original concepts rise through the community. Concepts can be as vague or as detailed as you want- I'll go more into detail about concepts wayyy later.

Familiar/Mascot -> Familiars, or mascots, are who give you the power to become a magical hero! They usually also represent your team and give you advice on how to succeed as a magical hero. Unlike what you see in typical magical hero shows, familiars don't always have to be animals. They can be humans, objects, etc. Sometimes, you can have a concept with no familiar!

Script -> A script is a collection of what you want as a magical hero. Scripting is the process of creating your script. This is usually done in a word processor, like Google Docs or Notion. You can add in pictures of your outfits/weapons, info about yourself, etc! I'll be sharing some of my self made scripting templates later on!

Subliminals -> Subliminals are subconsious messages over music or noise that go into your subconsious mind, helping you manifest desired results. Subliminals aren't just exclusive for becoming a magical hero. There are different subliminal topics, such as getting longer hair, changing your eye color, etc! Friendly reminder that subliminals are just a tool to help you manifest, and are not required for you to transform. What is required is.. you! Yes, you and your subconsious mind!

I will warn you, especially those new to the subliminal community: we do not condone the usage of problematic subliminals, such as race-changing (and the RCTA community), any underground subliminal, or subliminals glorifying trauma, abuse, etc. If you condone the usage of these subliminals, then leave this blog. You are not welcome here or in our Discord server. /srs

Manifesting -> Manifesting is the act of bringing something into this reality that you want. It's like a dream come true- say, you've manifested good grades, healthy hair, etc. There are several methods to manifest, but the most common one I've seen is manifesting with subliminals.

Affirmations -> Affirmations are positive statements that help reinforce your subconsious mind what you want to manifest. Things like "I will transform" and "I am a magical hero" are some! These are put into subliminals, but you can also create your own to make sigils, spells, etc.

Fantasy Shift Phase (F Shift) -> In fantasy shifting phase, you're planning out your aspects of your magical hero life, desired life, etc. This is where you create ideas for your magical hero concept. You can also create your subliminal playlist in this phase.

Mental Shift Phase (M Shift) -> In mental phase, you're changing your mental (and sometimes physical) state to think like a magical hero. This can be doing good deeds for others, watching magical hero shows, physically training, etc! You're preparing for your future as a magical hero. Acting as if and roleplaying are two common ways magical heroes mentally shift!

Phantom Shifting (Ph Shift) -> Phantom shifting is where you feel the sensation of being a magical hero, however, you haven't fully transformed yet. This can come in the form of feeling sensations of your outfit, weapons, etc while in civilian form. Some magical heroes don't count phantom shifting as its own phase since it's more of a term to describe sensations you feel.

Astral Shift Phase (A Shift) -> Astral shifting is where you see your magical hero form in the astral plane, either by phantom shifting or astral projecting. There's little information on how to astral shift, but don't let that discourage you!

Physical Shift Phase (P Shift) -> Also known as "full results", physical shifting is where you physically transform into a magical hero! You've completed a journey and are beginning another one! Congratulations <3

Fictional Other (F/O) -> Fictional others are signifigant others being manifested into this reality from a fictional source. They can be human, nonhuman, etc! I see a lot of magical heroes do this, so I thought it'd be nice to add (psst, to all those selfshippers out there manifesting f/o's, you are so valid and your partner loves you more than anything in this world <3)

After taking a "blog break," I’m excited to start sharing some of the projects I’ve been working on during my time away! One of the highlights is a custom widget I created for Notion—a photocard featuring my favorite band, PLAVE. This widget is perfect for fellow PLAVE fans (Plli), allowing them to display a "fanmade" photocard of their favorite band members right on their Notion pages.

I began this project not only to celebrate my love for PLAVE but also to dive deeper into the world of Notion widgets and explore what’s possible.

Let’s dive into the details of how I built it and the creative process behind it!

I started this project back in May, right after I discovered PLAVE in April! Around that time, I started following a 'photocard editor' on Twitter who creates these fantastic 'unofficial' collectible photocards of PLAVE. I fell in love with her edits immediately. I was also using Notion extensively to keep my Korean studies organized, so I thought, why not combine my passion for Korean learning with my love for PLAVE?

I wanted to create a public widget that other PLAVE fans could easily add into their own Notion pages. To be respectful and ensure proper credit, I reached out to the editor, Jane, to ask if I could use her edits in my widget. I explained my project idea and shared some Figma wireframes to show how the widget would look and function. Jane was excited about the concept and gave me her blessing to move forward. I didn’t start any programming until I had her approval!

For this project, I needed to create two main components: the widget itself and a webpage with information and installation instructions. Surprisingly, the info and installation page turned out to be more challenging than developing the widget! I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted to ensure the page was user-friendly, responsive, and easy to navigate. It was tougher than I wished for!

As for the widget, it was relatively straightforward to develop and only took me about two days. However, I did face some issues with broken links that I still need to fix, and I’m not quite sure why they’re not working. Usually, I’m a ReactJS enthusiast, but since this was a smaller project, I decided to use my "beginner combo": HTML, CSS (including SCSS), and JavaScript. I quickly realized how accustomed I’ve become to ReactJS because I kept writing code that didn’t work in Vanilla JavaScript—talk about a wake-up call!

In the end, I completed the project to a point where it was ready to present to both the PLLIs (PLAVE fans) and Jane. I found myself eagerly awaiting Jane’s feedback because her artwork was integral to the project. If she wasn’t happy with the outcome, I would have felt the same. Thankfully, she loved it! I officially posted the widget on Twitter/X, and Jane shared it as well. Although most of the users were Korean, reading their translated positive comments made me genuinely happy.

Who knows? Maybe in the future, I’ll work on another PLAVE-themed project. I really enjoyed creating this one!

INTERNET TRINKETS PAGE UPDATE

HI- first of all if you don't know me, hello I'm Q and I'm making a Notion site full of interesting websites and webtoys. this is a devlog of sorts lol

SO! I have been slowly slowly slowly putting all my links into two big boy tables: Trinket Info and Creator Info. You'll be able to search based on names and creators and filter down whatever you need based on if it's free to access, open source, is open to donations, is about art etc. I have 27 done of... 200 or so. ;w;

Here's a snipped of the category section of the trinkets table. I also have a creator tab with names and websites listed, if I can find them, but I have placeholder images for if I can't find the creator of a trinket.

I've also been working on the landing page! It's a bit barren though:

It's easier to search from here. I wanna create categories and folders of cool trinkets, hence the placeholder tab "Q's Favourites" up there. It's full of nothing right now though; it's something to consider when I'm finished adding everything.

I've written a bit of nonsense for the About Me page, and a small guide for how to navigate the thing itself. But I have a small question for you.

Or in better phrasing terms: is this project worth something to you even as a concept?

I've been going back and forth on this for some time, so I might as well just get it straight from the horse's mouth. I'm *this close* to plugging my card details into Stripe, I'm just wondering if it's worth the trouble.

What does this page consists of?

Main topic is the process of making an episode I describe each step of this process in details to show to the reader how does all of this looks like and how it works.

My ways of crediting Crediting is a very important thing in MMD community and so I showcase my system of crediting on almost a mass scale.

Tips regarding stuff related to MMD and a comic It's a short section where I share my tips regarding e.g.: making good poses or 2D-ish effect style.

"So you know how Petey is objectively the least intimidating of all of us..."

Steve sighed. "Peter, that's not very kind-"

"No, I mean, he agrees. He knows. This is. He asked for help."

"Alright, moving on... what is the situation?"

"Anyway, Petey doesn't necessarily want to disabuse them of the notion that he's the weakest link, like, in case they get... eh. Spooked, I guess, by MamaSpiderBear rage..."

"Spider Bear..."

"Imagine it. Imagine a Spider Bear. Now imagine it's the mama Spider Bear protecting its young. Very scary."

"Terrifying."

"Mm-hm. So, uh... also, like, anyway, that's my role. I'm taller, I can loom. He can... well, I mean, all of us can loom, we can do it from the ceiling, but, like... he's Mama Bug, I'm Mama Bear, you know?"

"Peter. What's the situation?" Steve barked.

"Zzoop...!" Peter 3 gasped and blushed. "They want to lump all of our kids in the same home room and have Peter chapperone all day for the protection of the, quote, more vulnerable children. Like, as a volunteer PTA kind of deal."

Steve gaped. "That...! That's discriminatory, that goes against-"

"Good! Good, that's exactly, yes, we are on the same page. So. But Petey doesn't mind doing it for a while if it's the only way to stop them doubling down and cutting their losses on our tuition and just kicking them all out, because, honestly, their legal footing is a bit more in their favor- it's not... the media shitshorm would be damaging for them but we don't have a big case. And it would be. Splashy. And in the meantime we'd be homeschooling our kiddos or moving or..." Peter 3 flapped a hand. "Anyway."

Steve folded his arms, huffing in a grumpy way, and nodded. "So you're playing the role of PR management here..."

Peter 3 made jazz hands. "Bingo, baby...! Em is also working on it, but like, yeah, basically. She's gonna put together some info on our best legal defense strategies, yadda yadda, we'll work on a good bullet point list that feels natural for you to stick to while you, yanno... play the earnest and concerned upstanding parent of one of the three-"

"... I am... literally..."

"Yes, yes. Which is what makes it work so well. You and Petey are the prettiest and sweetest together, very wholesome, when he cries you are so so valiant coming to his defense... any other combo just doesn't have the same punch..."

Steve rolled his eyes. "Peter..."

"Hey...! Politics is theater...! I'm a dramatic bitch, I know drama. Trust."

"I do, okay, I do. Alright."

"Mmm. Anyway, I'm thinking a polo shirt- soft blue? Or do you want to go a tiny bit more oldschool with the short sleeved button up with an undershirt? And chinos, the dark tan..."

Steve sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Mm..."

"What? Too on the nose, too stereotypical? You know, you might be right, I don't want you to look like stock photography... not trying for you to blend into the wall. But obviously we're trying to emphasize Steve the Dad, not Captain America, so they don't, like, see it coming when you whip out the Captain America is disappointed in you face, and... ehhh..." Peter 3 looked at Steve. He pouted. "Wha's wrong, PapaBear?"

Steve blinked at him. "... are..." His gaze flickered and he frowned in concentration, but Peter 3 could tell he wasn't concentrating on the school situation anymore. "... is Penny a bug or a bear?"

"... she's..." Peter 3 stalled, caught off guard but also impressed because now that he really thought about it he wasn't sure if there was a consensus. "... she's a bear. I gave birth to her, so she's my little bearcub. We're essentially matrilineal, that's why all the babies are Parkers."

"And... the new baby on the way... bug?"

"Ooh...! Yeah, actually. Good one! Now, if you and or Bucky were m-preggable, would you have a bear or something else?"

Steve made a face like he'd just eaten a rancid peanut. "I don't want that to be a word we use..."

"... m-preggable?"

"Ngh."

"How about just preggable?"

"Can we get back to the school situation, please?"

"Fine... but it's gonna be running in the background and I will bring it up later..." Peter 3 tutted.
