Let’s do like Fraser and take a look at that wonky flag painting in Inspector Thatcher’s office. It has always caught my eye (because: wonky). I admit I thought it was just something the prop department painted to put on the wall. Recently I double-checked and turns out it's (probably a print of) a painting by a renowned Canadian contemporary artist, Charles Pachter. My apologies, Mr. Pachter!

Hello, Mr. Gaiman!

My name is Kate, and I'm an elementary school librarian. I have been reading "Fortunately, the Milk" to my third grade classes over the past couple of weeks. It is an unexpected gem of a story, and it has brought much laughter and wonder to my library. We finished the book today - and oh, the groans when Dad presented the proof of his story! - and I've just launched the entire third grade on a massive collaborative storytelling project so we can talk about what goes into creating a book. They are writing their own "Further Adventures of Dad and Dr. Steg." We started researching today, to find times and places when a floaty-ball-person-carrier captained by a talking stegosaurus might cause a stir... I have kids dreaming up stories set at the International Space Station, frontier America, the bottom of the sea, the Amazon rainforest (with talking animals), and even one group planning a harrowing altercation with a wild moose in Sweden... Every twist and turn in your plot was so gloriously unexpected, that there can be no wrong answers in this part of the project! Then comes the writing, team editing, and illustrating - we have the edition illustrated by Skottie Young, and the kids adore the art - and at the end of everything, we'll be "publishing" the whole project for the school to see outside the library! The kids are so excited, and I just wanted to say thank you for that! We've had so much fun already!

Classic Retrovision Milestones

64 years ago today, November 19, 1959, The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show premiered. (known as Rocky & His Friends during the first two seasons and as The Bullwinkle Show for the last three seasons) It originally aired from November 19, 1959, to June 27, 1964, on the ABC and NBC television networks. Produced by Jay Ward Productions, the series is structured as a variety show, with the main feature being the serialized adventures of the two title characters, the anthropomorphic moose Bullwinkle and flying squirrel Rocky. The main adversaries in most of their adventures are the Russian-like spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. Supporting segments include Dudley Do-Right (a parody of old-time melodrama), Peabody's Improbable History (a dog and his pet boy Sherman traveling through time), and Fractured Fairy Tales (classic fairy tales retold in comic fashion), among others.

Rocky & Bullwinkle is known for quality writing and wry humor. Mixing puns, cultural and topical satire, and self-referential humor, it appealed to adults as well as children. It was also one of the first cartoons whose animation was outsourced; storyboards were shipped to Gamma Productions, a Mexican studio also employed by Total Television. The art has a choppy, unpolished look and the animation is extremely limited even by television animation standards at the time. Yet the series has long been held in high esteem by those who have seen it; some critics described the series as a well-written radio program with pictures.

The show was shuffled around several times (airing in afternoon, prime time, and Saturday morning time slots), but was influential to other animated series from The Simpsons to Rocko's Modern Life. Segments from the series were later recycled in the Hoppity Hooper show.

There have been numerous feature film adaptations of the series' various segments, such as the 2000 film The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle which blended live-action and computer animation and the 1999 live-action film Dudley Do-Right, which both received poor reviews and were financially unsuccessful. By contrast, an animated feature film adaptation of the "Peabody's Improbable History" segment, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, was released to good reviews in 2014.

Mr. Peabody will star in a new reboot series picked up for 13-episodes.

In 2013, Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show were ranked the sixth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time by TV Guide.

Spitting thoughts out:

Lmao notice how there is stuff all over the downstairs and the upstairs hallways and staircases but he left the kitchen mostly clean? Same. Getting to food = important.

So it makes sense that they have multiple med kits and fire extinguishers because they’re a rescue family.

Cody seems to have a lot of dinosaur related little kid stuff so Dino kid confirmed.

He seems to be a big reader but Cody’s a smart kid so yeah we could’ve figured that. Also I bet Charlie has preached the need to get off the internet and do other things.

Makes sense that he has a lot of soccer balls because apparently it’s the family sport. Kade, Dani, and Graham have lots of soccer trophies. There was a whole episode about how Cody is bad at soccer.

Makes sense he has a lot of basket balls and baseballs. We see the family play basketball all the time and at the end of the soccer episode, Kade insists Cody try out for baseball.

You would think they’d have a shed or something to put all their sports stuff in??? Why have them inside????

Why the boomboxes?? I could see if one of them used to be Charlie’s and he gave it to Cody, but why two?

The magician hat and the trumpet are both call backs from previous episodes. I don’t remember exactly the trumpet one, but it was when he was trying new things for a lad pioneer badge or extra credit in school or something. Heatwave recommended martial arts but it didn’t go well???

The duplicate of the Teddy bear with the police shirt and the duplicate of the magician hat are clear accidents.

The moose hat is because the moose is the mascot of the team Kade was on.

Why the tuba? What’s with the water tanks? Cody has his own plant? When’d he make the Optimus head? That would’ve been cute to see!

Why the hell does he have so many rubber ducky’s?!?!?!???

“You are just the sweetest thing, aintcha? But we both know you’ll melt if you’re away from ice any longer you big Canadian moose. Go skate with Shitty – I know you’ve missed him somethin’ fierce since he was here after the Cup.”

Tater sniggers into the couch cushions at the sight of Jack Laurent Zimmermann – college graduate with honors, top five for the Rocket Richard and Art Ross, runner up for the Conn Smythe, Calder Cup Winner, and Stanley Cup Champion – pouting at his boyfriend.

“Bits—”

“Get out of here, Mr. Zimmermann,” Bitty laughs. “We’ll be just fine on our own, and we’ll be here when you get back.”

“Fine.” Jack leans in for one more kiss and Bitty pushes up into the contact so easily that Tater actually looks away, feeling a little like he’s intruding – only looking up again at the sound of the door closing.

Bitty collects Tater’s evening meds and a slice of pie for both of them before making his way back into the living room, shaking his head fondly. “Never thought I’d see the day when Jack Zimmermann was whining about going to the rink. Somewhere pigs are flyin’.”

“Seem to me like good reason to pout: Little B staying home.”

“You’re sweet as all get out.”

“Am best,” Tater confirms before shoveling blueberry pie into his mouth with a groan of pleasure.

“How’s your leg today? Still sore after PT today?”

“Da. But feels stronger. I’ll be back to start next season I’m thinking.”

Bitty does a little dance in his seat in celebration. “Tater, that’s fantastic! I’m so pleased for you, hon.”

“Is rough, no skate, no running, only bike and swimming sometimes. Feel с ума – not sure what English is – like not wanting to sit still, but forced to.”

“Oh, stir-crazy?” Tater nods. “I totally get that – I got a bad concussion my frog year, couldn’t do anything with impact until the start of the next season. I didn’t think I would miss running in the Georgia heat, but Lord, I would have given anything just to go for a jog, I was so bored.”

Tater lifts his plate and waggles his eyebrows. “Pie helps lots. Would be sad without.”

“Well we can’t have that,” Bitty says, mock seriously before sitting up straight. “Now, to business. Jack will be gone for at least two hours, probably closer to three since Shitty will drag him out for dinner after.”

“We have time to finish Drag Race?”

“We do indeed.”

“Was wrong before. Little B is best.”

Bitty doesn’t say anything, just smiles at Tater fondly, grabs the remote and settles himself against Tater’s side, tucked safely under Tater’s arm. His leg is sore, he’s itching to get back to the ice and conditioning, but Bitty has a way of making all his frustration melt away.

Camp Bullhorn AU

It’s your average summer camp, but with the usual twists and turns and delinquents.

Aka the entire student body of Bullworth.

This is sort of based off a novel called Feral Youth that is written by many different authors.

Also implanting aspects from Scooby Doo Camp Scare cause that movie SLAPS.

Plus some silly goofy things from Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The prefects are head counselors.

Crabblesnitch owns the camp and Ms. Danvers is the co owner.

The rest of the staff are ambassadors, they’re the ones who teach stuff like arts and crafts, kayaking, basic survival, first aid, etc.

Cliques are cabins.

Each cabin is represented by an animal.

Preps - Swans

Greasers - Coyotes

Jocks - Mooses

Nerds - Lizards

Bullies - Bobcats

Townies - Bass

Non clique students and female students are separated in respective cabins.

Camp activities include horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, kayaking, capture the flag, arts and crafts, archery, hiking, water skiing, zip-lining, swimming, paintball, and hiking.

Seth and Seymour ride around in a golf cart.

Seth drives and he does it very recklessly.

Max usually directs camp activities like capture the flag, paintball, and zip lining.

Karl is usually helping with campfire hour and the amphitheater.

Seymour does cabin checks, paperwork, directs horseback riding, and occasionally helps Max with zip-lines.

Seth directly disciplines campers and can really choose any punishment but killing them or kicking them out of camp.

Pete is a lifeguard and helps out with activities that revolve around the water.

They have an outdoor amphitheater.

They also have blackberry and strawberry fields.

They also have a basketball court and a volleyball net set up.

The lake has sand around it, it looks like a beach, the lake is also pretty damn big.

We all know why Jimmy’s here his parents don’t wanna fuck with him for three months.

Gary’s here cause he can’t leave jimmy tf alone.

Pete is here cause he works here.

Zoe is here and so is Bif cause they’re a care package.

Capture the flag is an event that indicates which cabin doesn’t have to do their chores for a week.

Which ever team loses has to take up the winner’s chores.

Same rules apply for paintball.

Usually it’s greasers, bullies, and townies against the preps, nerds, and jocks.

Justin is the on responsible for the prep and jock alliance.

Sometimes they switch up the alliance cause of bribery or fights.

They used to have ultimate frisbee but it got too competitive.

This camp had to ban Uno.

The conflict here would rely less on monsters and killers and more on the campers and counselors.

Cause the ambassadors and owners ain’t shit.

Excluding Mr. Galloway and Ms. Philips.

Sometimes Neil too.

I’m still thinking out the general plot but I got a place to start so hopefully I can turn this into a series or a one shot typa deal.
