Hi hello I love your writing☀️ it’s so wholesome but I got a angsty fic idea for you, if reader hanged out,were friends and even worked with Mr Tinker, I mean shadow wanted to kill Mr tinker even if he wasn’t the evil eggman he knew so what if when was protecting Mr tinker Shadow lunges at Mr tinker but before shadow can fully attack mr tinker Reader forcefully stops shadow and warns him not to attack mr tinker which makes shadow feel a bit hurt but then it turned to a bit of anger as shadow tries to attack mr tinker again but reader steps forwards and blocks him again with a attack which leads to a fight between Reader and shadow

Description: You thought he would understand. You didn’t want to fight him. But at this point, you might have to.

Notes: So from what little I’ve seen of the IDW comics, Mr. Tinker is Eggman but he lost his memories, and that’s the premise I’m going off of. I hope I do this well and I hope you enjoy!

People outside the village would call you crazy.

But to the people inside the village?

Eggman was a good person.

You had begun living in this small village only recently, and although you were wary at first, it seems like Eggman truly seemed to have lost his memories.

Seeing Eggman- No, Mr. Tinker, be so nice to you when you were fighting alongside Sonic just months earlier certainly was strange, but Mr. Tinker grew to be one of your closest friends.

So when you heard the townsfolk start to scream in fear, you of course rushed outside, only to see your partner.

Shadow the Hedgehog.

You hadn’t mentioned Mr. Tinker’s existence to him, and it seems like you were right to do so.

Shadow is in front of Mr. Tinker, his fists clenched, as Mr. Tinker is on the ground, shielding himself with his arms.

“Shadow! What are you doing?!” you shout.

Shadow turns to look at you, a bit of surprise in his eyes that only lasts for a moment before his expression switches back to a scowl.

���Taking care of the trash,” Shadow states.

“[Name]! Help!” Mr. Tinker cries out.

Shadow moves to punch him, but you block it, standing in front of Mr. Tinker in a defensive position.

Shadow’s scowl turns to a look of betrayal before immediately switching back.

“[Name]. Get out of my way,” Shadow spats.

“I won’t let you hurt him, Shadow. He’s changed,” you state.

“I said get out of my way.”

“If you want to get to him, you’ll have to go through me.”

“I don’t want to fight you, [Name].”

“You leave me no choice.”

You look at Mr. Tinker, nodding at him. He nods back with a nervous expression, getting up and rushing towards his house.

Shadow teleports in front of him, moving in for a kick, only for you to block it with your arms, grabbing him by the leg and throwing him away from Mr. Tinker, allowing him to get into his house safely.

Shadow lands on his feet where you threw him, a scowl on his face.

“This doesn’t concern you, [Name]. Just let me finish him off.”

“And as I’ve told you, I’m not letting you hurt him.”

Now, you’re nowhere near as strong as Shadow. The only one who’s able to beat him is Sonic, possibly Knuckles.

But you don’t have to beat him.

You just have to convince him.

You internally sigh.

What if Eggman stayed as Mr. Tinker…

And what if the Metal Virus still happened?

Think about it like this, Starline has just been denied by his hero “Eggman” after bringing his memory back but he decides to stay as Mr. Tinker. In an attempt to push Tinker into the Eggman role he goes to his most recent project, the Metal Virus, and uses like in cannon thinking that Eggman would see his success and take control… only for Starline to immediately lose his control.

Cut to Sonic running around, trying to save his friends who he can’t touch or he’ll infect them, ending up at windmill village. Running across more zombots before seeing Eggman and Belle ether cowering or protecting the kids. The same Eggman he was regretting letting go because he thought (and to a degree still thinks) he did this.

Now imagine being Mr. Tinker, your worst project of a life you want to forget is rampaging through the world, your friends are all caught up in it, and your old arch nemesis is there, infected, and doesn’t know if you got your memory back. You did, but he thinks if you did you would be behind everything.

"Oh dear, I do hope I am doing this right. How could anyone do such a thing to people without proper consent? It's down right criminal is what it is," Mr. Tinker said as he finished up with the last of the cybernetics. Honestly, this was all a bit of a rush to the tinkerer, at least given how he, for lack of a better word, escaped from Eggman's mind. That was going to require a lot of explaining when he was found at some point.

Mr. Tinker would set the tool aside as he finished and 'activated' the other. Ugh, it made his stomach turn to think of it like that, though at least this one he was able to save with less cybernetics. The state he found her in was far better than the other one which required making an entire metal body, despite his best efforts to avoid such a thing. Right now he should focus on making sure she was okay. "Excuse, can you hear me properly? Oh, I do hope I did this right. All of this is still a bit new to me." He may have Eggman's memories, though this still felt so foreign to him.

The fact he can bounce back no matter what even after such a long time in confinement and more than likely becoming rusty shows to me you may never win. However, I will admit that data can back up on your success, though you've also proven you can be the cause of your own destruction. The Metal Virus is proof of that. Not to mention you have beings like Shadow who I believe have a reduced aging process and Silver time traveling. Despite all that I still don't wish harm to come to you. I believe you can change if you wish to."

" And that's just the thing! I didn't ask you. Why? Because you're an inferior version of myself that I've been forced to become aware of. Even Eggman Nega has the decency to disappear when I'm sick of seeing him. But you? HA! You just have to stick around, don't you? Making people think I can turn good? It's insulting! "

" Not to mention the fact you attempt to come to conclusions without the full data set at hand, hm? Because as far as you can tell, I am destined to lose forever. But from all I've seen? I keep getting closer every time I launch my grand campaigns to conquer the world. The first time I did it, what the world now calls the 'Robotnik War' resulted in me conquering roughly 57% of the world and constructing the Death Egg before that meddlesome Sonic got in my way. Then, my second grand conquest, what is now called the 'Great Egg War' resulted in me conquering 99% of the entire planet and almost removing Sonic from the equation for good. Tell me, what does that data suggest to you? "

Villain!Amy meets Mr. Tinker.

Desperately doesn't want him to remember his time as Eggman.

Mostly because him being happy makes Metal happy.

But also because he'd be competition, and she'd rather keep him in Windmill Village rather than a cell.

She is very fond of Belle though

after that whole mr tinker situation, would stone treat the doctor any different? like keeping a closer eye on him, not leaving him alone for too long, stuff like that

I'll tell ya! Stone is already a clingy, overprotective guy. It's in his nature, plus part of his extensive military training to protect. He is naturally a little too on guard after that. Unfortunately, that leads to exhaustion and overworking himself, and that leads to some unforseen slip ups. When the Metal Virus happens after that, it will be the same way for Eggman, too. Eggy is about to get super uncharacteristically protective for a while.

"I wonder who in their right mind let that nasty fellow even have such a degree in the first place, though I can only hope he wasn't always so obsessed with Eggman and used to be put together." Mr. Tinker found it hard to believe anyone could even tolerate such a man let alone respect him to the degree Starline did. To think both have such brilliant minds and could've done so much good yet all they do is hurt people. "Well, they do have options to make appointments online. I just ask you think about it down the line." He had no intention to push Young Cassia as he could understand why she feels this way

"I believe saw that when I skimmed the file Starline had on you two, though I didn't read it too in depth as I had no intention to invade your privacy." Mr. Tinker only skimmed their files to see what the issues were and nothing else. "I'm sure you will Young Cassia. You have so much to live for, and are such a bring young lady." The tinkerer's attention then went the computer making a few beeps. "Ah, it seems I finally cracked the security to the lower levels," he said walking over and taking a seat in front of the computer.

She didn't want to be able to relate either, in fact no one should ever go through what she did. But it was a congenital defect that caused certain organs to fail or deteriorate. It was a slow process but most who were born with it never lived to adulthood. She was lucky to have lived so long, but it cost her so much. Her eyes, her ears, and many of her organs. She was on constant dialysis, do to her poor liver and kidney function and her heart was always frail and she was prone to fainting if she got to excited.

What Tinker gave her was a chance to be normal, but at the same time she was barely organic now. So much metal and barely any soft tissue left. She wondered did she still have her own brain? Or was it wires and circuits to? that feeling of losing her humanity and becoming a machine was terrifying!

She fidgeted at the mention of a head doctor---lord no! not that!

" A psychologist? i dunno maybe? i just after starline its hard to trust a shrink again... i mean i thought he was suppose to help me and look what happened "

" As for Clove... after mom and dad died, she just couldn't stand the idea of being alone. She clung to me because she had no one else... she is over protective but i don't hate her for that. She's my sister--- i'd do anything for her."

"Oh, um, I do hope you'll forgive me if I have no memory of you or the Super Genesis Wave, though just from the name I can only assume the universe was, in a sense reset." Mr. Tinker may not be apart of Eggman's mind anymore, though he was still on equal footing in terms of intelligence it seems. However, the tinkerer didn't seem pleased by the mention of him losing so ambition.

"With all due respect Julian, I don't think I've lost any ambition in the slightest. I do wish to make the world a better place, though have on desire to rule it. If you ask me the main goal is to do all we can with the time we have." Mr. Tinker just couldn't understand Eggman's obsession with wanting to rule the world and turn everything robotic.

I hope that if Robotnik comes back in the fourth or fifth movie they should utilize the Mr Tinker arc where he loses his memory and becomes a wholesome inventor

Wether Shadow saved him or the reactor explosion sent him to a different dimension or planet

Because if stone becomes the new enemy and just finds the man he loves hanging around after his sacrifice we can get one of two paths:

1. He joins Robotnik in his new life cue cute ending where they have Metal, Belle, and Sage as their kids

2. He try’s to make him remember which can be sad or Dr Starline style

Btw: the badniks recognized Robotnik immediately and just randomly swarmed him simply refusing to leave
