The travelers golden hues would stay on touma's for a moment as she did her best to relax. It wasn't even that bad here....yet.
" So.... This vision hunt decree what started it ?"
( hi! )
Now there was a topic that sucked the amiable air from the room. It was by no means her fault either, rather, it's good that the heaviness of such a situation never leaves their hearts. A golden few within House Kamisato were familiar with the origins that led to the bitter birth of this decree. An additional cup of sakura tea is swiftly served up and settled upon Lumine's side of the table as the start of his response, welcoming her to situate comfortably.
"As it stands, there's myriad affairs that generated its roots. While the Raiden Shogun stands as the final word for the enactment, within Inazuma.. bitter clouds found themselves drawing close for a time."
A branch of acrid madness found itself permeating from the highest echelons. This he clearly remembers, how the forces of the Tenryou and the Kanjou were more determined for secrecy, how certain actions were being pushed that often led to Yashiro Commission being overruled.
"From what our intelligence managed to seize, its two factors. A pull for power with well hidden proof, and the Shogun's determination to make the concept of Eternity realized upon this land's soil. Remove those who hold Visions, and a pivotal force of potential that can help keep balance is removed entirely."
Maybe this last factor would be something the Traveler finds familiar. After all, conversations from the sturdy gang of The Crux have shared stories of Osial's awakening and successful push back.
"I'm certain you're familiar with the Fatui? I believe the heads of the Tenryou and their diplomats succeeded in trying to cripple this nation's strength."

Sometimes you just have one of those moments where the progress we've made as a culture get thrown into stark relief. You look at something and go "Holy shit, that would never have happened when I was a kid."
Today, I had one of those moments when I realized that the teenage boys I'm working with are just. genuinely, openly enthusiastic about going to Build-a-Bear for their outing.
These are sixteen and seventeen year old boys! They just had a whole conversation about what to name their "cute", mostly new squishmallows! They're genuinely excited that they're going to Build-a-Bear this weekend and asking other kids to pick up specific accessories for them!!
Holy shit, that never would've happened when I was 16. None of the boys would have dared to be visibly interested - and neither would most of the girls! There would have been a million gay jokes and "Haha, you're a girl" jokes and "What are you, a baby?" jokes. Teenagers weren't even supposed to care about anything back then!
Less than 15 years later, and I'm watching three 17 year old boys treat all that as not even worthy of comment.
So let's call that a reason for hope. Even when the kids aren't alright, in some ways apparently they are alright. Go Gen Z, honestly. It's so lovely to watch you guys just openly doing and saying stuff that, when I was a teen, would've been a social death sentence.

The scene in the Barbie trailer when Barbie is skating around with Ken and asks "Why is everyone staring at me?"
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE AN ADOLESCENT GIRL.
Living in Barbieland (childhood girlhood) but then suddenly you're all grown up in the real world subject to scrutiny and sexualisation (the guy slapping Barbie's ass) and feeling like existing is a crime?
Being forced by adult men into a box (which leads to the not like other girls syndrome) and exploring the 'real world' (being forced to grow up too quickly) while fighting the realisation that maybe the world sucks and being a woman is so difficult while hoping with all your heart that it's not always going to be this way.
Losing touch with the very things that made you happy because they're considered immature and girly? (The group of teens that said they hadn't played with Barbies since they were five.)
Older women telling you that you have to learn the truth about the world and that you can never have your old life back (Kate Mckinnon's Barbie) despite it being the only thing you yearn for, but also older women being a bright spot and support (the old woman on the bench) in the endless slough of life.
And this is just the trailer!!! I'm so excited for this movie I can't breathe, Greta Gerwig the woman that you are 😭
