#multi age board game fun
a-dinosaur-a-day · 1 year
Note
I know this is a dinosaur themed blog, but what do you get up to when you're not thinking about dinosaurs? Any hobbies? Favorite books or games?
Thank you for asking!
so a truly alarming part of my life is dinosaur themed. it's not just my job - I have pet birds (which is a Whole Thing, the Pet Bird community is huge), tons of dinosaur toys and games, and I just have a Special Interest ya know
but! I do have many other interests
I'm extremely interested in Judaism, and my Jewish life is the second biggest part of my life after dinosaurs/prehistory/birds. I practice rooooughly trad-egal (masorti), and I do lots of Torah study every Shabbat with my spouse. I am, however, bad at not using the internet on Shabbat, which is something I wish I could commit to.
I am a lifelong anarchocommunist (parents were socialist-democrats and most kids go more left than their parents, not much more left I could go) and politics and social justice have always been important to me. From a very young age I took on equality and justice as things I believed in and I never stopped fighting for them. and this is more than just me being multi-queer and multi-disabled. So a lot of my life is fighting for "tikkun olam"
I love music, I'm a very musical person. Specifically I enjoy punk and alternative, though Jewish music is awesome and there's a lot of obscure rap hip hop and electronica I enjoy. Google told me my music taste is "deep cuts" and I am proud of that, honestly. I can play lots of instruments and I was in choir for most of my childhood! I'm a decent singer, I'm just shy about it. The spouse and I enjoy playing Rock Band as well!
I used to be a much more voracious reader than I am, mainly because being in academia is a one way ticket to not reading for pleasure anymore. That said, my favorite book is probably still "Ishmael / My Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. I also enjoy the works of Suzanne Collins (hunger games, gregor the overlander), the Green Brothers (sue me, Looking for Alaska was very important for Teen!Meig), and Shakespeare (yeah, I read Shakespeare for fun. What can you do.)
I loooooooooooove computer games. Love. Ever since I was little. I played tons of point and click games, especially educational ones, as a kid. I love tycoon games, most of all zoo tycoon, and jurassic park operation genesis was one of my favorite games as a kid. I play a ton of them now and my Steam account is overloaded. I often use mods and stuff for accessibility, but I enjoy many different games
I also love playing board games! My spouse Max and I have an extensive collection of board games including all of Wingspan, Holotype, and this cool game we found about the Permian period called Pangaea. We have many others, too, of course! We've just been playing Wingspan and Holotype a lot lately
I enjoy crochet, but I only learned it last summer. I also enjoy origami, though I haven't touched it in a while. I like swimming and hiking when I'm able to, disability kind of gets in the way sometimes. I also enjoy riding my bike, though see the former again. I am quite good at baking, but lately I haven't been doing it as much :/
I love my friends. I am extremely loyal to them and center them in my life. My spouse is included in this, but also my best friend from childhood Taryn, my best friend from college Carmen, and all of my wonderful dinosaur-community friends who are too many to list.
so yeah! I'd say the biggest things are Judaism, Music, and Computer Games, but I have tons of interests and lots of fantastic friends and loved ones, so my life does have a lot going on outside of dinosaurs and birds ^_^

looking for more rp partners on discord!! would absolutely love another small town mumu (multimuse) or two, extra info about me & what i'm looking for under the cut!
hiya, thanks for clickin!! my name is mo! i'm 28, she/her, and i'm in the PST timezone! i'm exclusively looking for rp partners who are at least 21+ please (but preferably closer to my age)! i write on discord only in a private rp server (with tupperbox!) i'll make for us!! i looove organization and will make us some character & ship categories, as well as a town worldbuilding section, i'll also keep track of things like the in-game calendar and timelines in reference to our threads!! once i get invested in an rp, i'm IN THERE in there
i write all genders, but i only write f/f, m/f, and nb ships! i'm looking for writing partners who are similar in enjoying and wanting to write all genders (and who have equal muse for all their characters regardless of gender) as i'm interested in exploring multiple ships and characters! i am also looking for a partner who likes to write a wide variety of ages, as I enjoy writing characters anywhere between the ages of 20s-50s! i prefer using & being opposite by faceclaims with resources from films & tv (i'm not interested in opposites such as sabrina carpenter, harry styles, madison beer, and the like)
i'd love an rp partner who loves to worldbuild, plot, write headcanons (or do little rp memes), share inspo stuff, and chat ooc! pinterest boards and playlists are a bonus! i really enjoy building a friendship with my rp partners as well as a fun, collaborative writing experience! i would absolutely LOVE to create a small town with a new partner and come up with its location, the names of shops and other places, some NPC names, maybe plot up some town lore & history, ect, and fill it up with a bunch of diverse characters and relationships we can continue to add on to over time! i'm interested in exploring relationships of all kinds, including romantic, platonic, familial, antagonistic, ect! for example, new budding romances, exes on good and/or bad terms, toxic exes or relationships, old high school sweethearts, best friends, friends who fell out or grew apart, close siblings, sibling rivals, and just other fun and/or complicated connections ahoy! i just love multi-muses and being able to write a living, breathing town filled with characters who can all freely interact with each other!
because i'd love a slowly expanding cast of characters (maybe start with 2-3 characters each and go from there?), it's very preferable to me that replies stay on the shorter side, as in one paragraph or less (unless the thread is really plot significant or intense/emotional! ik those can get away for us length-wise LOL) this way we can prioritize quality over quantity, and actually get to see relationships & plots evolve over time in many threads rather than spend weeks or months on a single thread and never actually get to all the good stuff we've plotted. in my experience, it's way more fun to have an evolving mumu where replies take maybe 5-10 minutes to write, and it also allows us to keep the progress of the rp going at a continual pace, which keeps it fun, exciting, and fresh!
i am happy to write smut when the relationship/thread calls for it, and i also enjoy nsfw headcanons alongside sfw ones! i'd say i prefer a 80/20 story to smut ratio. i am also comfortable with most dark or complicated themes, but this will probably be case by case basis. i'm looking for a soap opera inspired town mumu, basically! a good variety mix of drama & intrigue, angst & fluff, smut & sweetness, tragedy & other dark themes, ect, but nothing too intensely or consistently dark or taboo
i'd consider myself to be a pretty active rp partner for the most part (i'm in college plus i work sporadic hours as a private tutor) and when replies are on the shorter side, i can usually do at least one set of replies (if we are writing multiple threads at a time, i personally enjoy writing 2 at a time!) a day, but likely more, and i'm down for rapid-fire sessions as well when i can! i prefer my partner to have similar activity (it's difficult for me to stay invested in an rp when it mostly just consists of hcs & shared inspo, and when there is very little actual writing happening), though i don't at ALL want my partner to feel pressured to write replies!! it's just a hobby, not a jobby! things happen & life gets busy! but i really appreciate communication and transparency with rp friends! just lmk what's up and i'll do the same for you! and if you can't do replies for some reason, i'm always happy to just chat ooc or do some inspo chatting or plotting!!
this got so long, if you read all of it ily! if you have any questions or are interested in all this shit by me, please send me an IM!! or if you like or comment on this ad, i'll reach out to you! ty!! if i don't reach out it's because i found something in your guidelines that i don't think is compatible with this plot ad (usually has to do with desired reply length being multi-paragraph/novella, listed low activity, if the blog is heavily smut-centric, or rules state exclusively wanting to write one gender or kind of ship) but if your guidelines are out of date pls feel free to reach out anyway!!

Strategies to Maximize Your Earnings
Earning money while playing Ludo online isn't just about luck; it also requires strategy. Here are some tips to help you increase your chances of winning:
Understand the Rules Completely: Knowing every rule and nuance can give you an edge over competitors.
Practice Makes Perfect: Use free-to-play versions to hone your skills without risking your cash.
Focus on Safe Play: Sometimes, it’s smarter to move pieces strategically and defensively rather than aggressively aiming to capture opponent pieces.
Watch and Learn: Observing successful players can provide insights into effective strategies and tactics.
Managing Risks and Expectations
While playing Ludo online can be lucrative, it’s important to manage risks and set realistic expectations:
Set a Budget: Always have a fixed budget for how much you’re willing to spend and potentially lose.
Beware of Addiction: Monitor your playing time to ensure it doesn’t interfere with your daily responsibilities.
Legal Considerations: Ensure that playing games for cash is legal in your jurisdiction.

Monty: Hall
Trigger: Húxiān, Jaeger, settle a little tiff that Count and I are having.
Count: Let’s be honest, Trigger, it’s not a tiff, it’s a row.
Trigger: And now it’s a scene.
Jaeger: It’s okay, Captain, we don’t want to get involved in your personal life.
Trigger: It’s not personal, it’s a game tactic.
Jaeger: Ah-huh…
Húxiān: Pass.
Count: Trigger and I had dinner together last night for the first time in two weeks, thanks to the new Free Erusea uprising.
Trigger: and Count thought it would be fun to spoil our date with an inane loadout choice to which his answer is wrong.
Jaeger: Enough foreplay, let’s get to the action.
Trigger: It’s the “Land Battleship fight dilemma”. Imagine you’re on a ground attack mission. There are both ground and air targets-
Count: You’re telling it wrong. There are both ground and air targets. You get rid of them. The base personnel boards two land battleships. You can destroy them by doing multiple passes and stripping them of their defenses or one-shot them with special weapons, available to only a few planes and taking up space for other special weapons. Should you do the mission with Anti-Ship Missiles? No.
Trigger: Yes!
Count: It’s simple reasoning.
Trigger: It doesn’t make sense to go with anything else. Land battleships take ages to sink, you equip ASMs and it’s over in seconds.
Count: That section is quicker, but you don’t have the optimal loadout for the first one. It goes faster if you invest in multi-lock air to ground missiles plus something for the air. We’ve been over this eight times.
Trigger: Seven times. Now you can’t even do simple addition.
Jaeger: Count is right.
Trigger: You’re fired.
Jaeger: What!?
Húxiān: Ha!
Jaeger: Good evening, captain.
Trigger: No, it’s not. I haven’t slept, because I’ve been going over that stupid problem. Now I finally understand Count’s side.
Húxiān: Cool, so it’s all better and I never have to hear about land battleships ever again?
Trigger: Quite the opposite. I know better than ever how incorrect he is.
/yesterday/
Trigger: It’s not slower if you pick Chimera.
Count: Do I have to teach you how to use UGBS?
Trigger: I don’t know, do I have to teach you how to use STDM?
Count: Do I have to teach you how to use URMB?
Trigger: Do I have to teach you how to use GUN?
/now/
Trigger: Now, if you excuse me, pilots, I need to leave him a snide voicemail about turning on the game.
Húxiān: Okay, we have to explain this thing to Trigger to save their relationship.
Jaeger: And you laughed at me when I took a day off to play flight games with my son.
Húxiān: ‘Cause you said you were going to play HAWX.
Jaeger: That’s what we played! It was cool.
Húxiān: It was not. Anyway, it’s not about the loadout. They haven’t had time for themselves because of the uprising. They just need to bone.
Jaeger: What? Gross! Húxiān, those are our idols!
Jaeger: I mean… That’s not what I think. Captain Idol is just my boss.
Húxiān: Wow.
Trigger: Is everything okay, Jaeger?
Jaeger: Nevermind. I’m teaching my hero Project: Wingman!
Jaeger: No, I lost my ring.
Trigger: Did you see where it went?
Jaeger: Actually… It's guarded by these model land battleships. Why don’t you pick a fighter to tackle them?
Trigger: Are you trying to Project: Wingman me? It’s unbelievable. I don’t need Project: Wingman ruining my place of work when Project: Wingman has already ruined my home life.
Húxiān: Come on, Trigger, the game isn’t the problem. The uprising is keeping you and Count apart. You two just need to bone.
Trigger: What did you say?
Jaeger: Don’t say it again.
Húxiān: I said you two need to bone.
Trigger: How… dare you, Strider Four, I am your Superior OFFICER!
/5 minutes later/
Trigger: Bone!
/20 minutes later/
Trigger: What happens in my bedroom, Lieutenant, is none of your business.
/40 minutes later/
Trigger: BONE!?
/1 hour later/
Trigger: Don’t ever speak to me like that again.
Jaeger: Why did you do that?
Jaeger: Oh, Trigger, I know you don’t want to talk about Project: Wingman, but I did contact a developer-
Húxiān: Dude was pent up. Now he knows. Problem solved.
Trigger: No need, Jaeger. It’s all good.
Húxiān: So the fight with Count is over?
Trigger: Yep.
Jaeger: Because you understand the game now?
Trigger: Nope.
Húxiān: Because you guys-
Trigger: Yep!

Its late and I can't sleep so have some fun facts about my tav
Tumblr media
Her name is Katrice Taventridus Elwoyzorwyn (el-wuh-zor-win), she's a half wood elf wizard (nobility background) and as of the events of bg3 she's 55 years old. Her magical ability strength lies in elemental magic, namely fire ice and lightning. Her alignment is neutral good because she believes more in doing what is right rather than what is lawful, but only if she won't get caught
She grew up in Baldur's Gate in a very affluent family, she went to a magical academy and graduated at the top of her class in an effort to impress her parents (spoiler: it didn't work)
After Katrice graduated she tried to join her father's magical item importation business. He told her that not only did he not want her to join, but that if she did it would tarnish the reputation as an elven business because she was actually half human and an affair child
She decided (to prove to her dad herself that she could in fact do whatever she put her mind to, surprise biracial affair child or no, so she got herself a basic adventuring pack and set off for adventure. She then got zapped up by the nauteloid ship literally before she made it out of the main city gate
She's part of a playthru that I did multi-player with my wife who played a tiefling ranger (criminal background) named Valmaia, and we consider that our "canon" run. Katrice and Val butted heads a lot at the beginning but by the end of the game are good friends
She's 5'6", weighs about a hundred pounds soaking wet, and the only reason her STR is 10 is because I refuse to go lower on any stat at all ever
Katrice hoards scrolls and potions because "you never know!!" But because her potion bag gets heavy, she pawns it off on Astarion to carry.
She doesn't trust the dream visitor (who looks like her birth mom) and refuses to eat more tadpoles or to use the illithid power at all. Valmaia meanwhile is eating the tadpoles like candy. Modern day pickle giver vs pickle eater tbh
Katrice and Wyll end up falling in love over the course of the game, because they ran in similar social circles growing up. Because Katrice is twice Wyll's age, they never actually met, but they likely would've been childhood friends.
In my personal solo playthru with Katrice, I had her romance Astarion in a "I can fix him but maybe he'll corrupt me a little" kind of way, a "on my gods my parents would be SO disappointed in me for bringing home such a charlatan. Isnt that exciting" rebellion kind of way. (I'm now romancing him with my dark urge which is a whole other flavor of emotionally delicious)
Im playing with the idea of her birth mom (who went missing shortly after Katrice was born) having been one of Cazador's victims just for a little extra gut punch
She had to talk down shadowheart from killing the nightsong, astarion from committing mass murder so he can suntan, gale from trying to become a God, like that one meme of a guy struggling and tangled with three babies on leashes
After the events of bg3 Katrice is well funded as both a professional adventurer and recognized as a hero of the city, so she's able to buy a controlling interest in her father's company.
She also buys Cazador's mansion (since he's not using it anymore) and turns it into a tavern/inn that employs several of the vampire spawn that Astarion freed. They work and in exchange are given room and board and a safe blood supply from local butchers and donors. Astarion refuses to stay there but thinks the idea is hilarious.
Wyll, Valmaia, and Karlach went to Avernus to live in the House of Hope while they look more into a cure for Karlach. Katrice doesn't enjoy the long distance relationship thing but once she and Rolan set up a portal to the House of Hope from the top of Ramazith’s tower, its a little easier to go back and forth.
My wife and I are playing a 2 person DND style game where we're continuing this thread and are doing an Icewind Dale based story together, just rolling dice for how the plot goes. I'm insanely excited to keep going (and if anyone asks me about it ill just straight up share my campaign notes i love it)

TRANSCRIPT // 0293. CASEFILE #99038STA. D. 06/29/2004. NOTE: THIS FILE HAS BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT OPERATIONS IN PROGRESS AND SHOULD NOT BE RELEASED FOR PUBLIC RECORD.
STRIKE TEAM ALPHA CONSISTS OF STRIKE ONE, STRIKE TWO AND OVERWATCH. OVERWATCH: STRIKE ONE, STRIKE TWO, THIS IS OVERWATCH. CONFIRM COMMS, OVER. STRIKE ONE: STRIKE ONE CONFIRM. OVERWATCH: STRIKE TWO? OVERWATCH: STRIKE ONE, DO YOU HAVE EYES ON STRIKE TWO? STRIKE ONE: NEGATIVE. EN ROUTE. OVERWATCH: OBJECTIVE CLEAR. OVER, OUT.
the thing about drug lords is they never really pay attention to the little guys. the old expression of being smart and dumb at the same time really does apply, especially when it comes to money; everybody just grabs at the board like it's a game of fucking hungry hippos and phil, while he has a certain patience, does not have the inclination to pander to sheer incompetence. who runs a multi-million dollar cocaine business and forgets to do a background check?
( and ordinarily, he might be concerned they've been made but phil has met el santos - a middle aged white guy from connecticut whose middle name is lindsay - and it's not even worth the time it takes to ask the nsa for wire taps. )
from his booth in the sweaty club, phil plays up the obnoxious playboy vibe and orders a two hundred dollar bottle of vodka that retails for forty at any liquor store on saints row. there's a lot of cocaine on the table, a lot of girls half-clad in bikinis passing by; he pays no mind. focusing instead on what he can see and what he cannot.
this place is heaving with sicarios, their girlfriends and tweakers, rich kids on vacation to tijuana who got fun little invites in their pockets. some of them are here for the drugs, some for the money but everyone - and that does mean everyone - is here for the fights. violence for violence sake has never really been a turn on for him, but that doesn't mean he can't act as uncouth as this feels. boxing and mma and whatever the fuck this mutant on human fight night is about completely passes over his skull.
( if she could hear his thoughts, natasha would call him pretentious for the way his biggest objection to this sort of thing is simply because it is inelegant. )
clint is playing fighter tonight. personally, he'd prefer it to be natasha but sexism, right, and el santos is unforgiving when it comes to his fighters, so clint makes the natural fit. you look better in the suit than i do anyway, man, clint had said with a laugh.
that's definitely true now.
STRIKE ONE: VISUAL ON TWO. HE'S ABOUT TO GET HIS ASS KICKED. OVERWATCH: BE NICE, [REDACTED]. STRIKE ONE: I THOUGHT YOU LIKED ME MEAN. OVERWATCH: ALWAYS, BABY. [TRANSCRIPT INTERRUPTED / SOUND DISTORTED.] OVERWATCH: I'M UP TO BAT. VISUAL ON TARGET. STRIKE ONE: I SEE YOU.
phil's goal was to get santos alone. which shouldn't have been hard except clint was too good at playing tyler durden and drew in quite the crowd; so phil ends up pressed against the corrugated roof barriers.
OVERWATCH: HE REALLY IS GETTING HIS ASS KICKED. STRIKE ONE: NEXT TIME, YOU GET IN THE RING. OVERWATCH: AND RUIN MY CASHMERE? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Superman: The Animated Series: The Top 10 Episodes
P. self-explanatory, I’d imagine. Multi-parters will count as one episode Let’s get rolling!
FIVE HONORABLE MENTIONS
“In Brightest Day”: This one’s admittedly here more for the historical importance. It’s a solid episode on its own, with a much-abbreviated mashup of Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner’s origins serving as the main thrust, and Kyle is a very likable protagonist in his first day on the job, especially against a formidable threat in Ted Levine’s arrogant, well-essayed Sinestro. But what this represented to the larger DCAU is hard to understate, with the Green Lanterns and Guardians of Oa introduced, as well as the soaring musical leitmotif that will also go on to represent John Stewart in Justice League. Of the hero team-up episodes, this is definitely on the higher end.
“Speed Demons”: Speaking of which, this also has a great deal of importance in introducing Wally West as the Flash to the DCAU. And the episode is a ton of fun, especially with the mix of personalities and TMS’ animation bolstering the speedy movements of our heroes and environmental effects. The main reason it’s here and not on the list proper is that it’s fairly light and fluffy as these go. Weather Wizard gets a lot of mileage out of Miguel Ferrer’s confident sneering villainy and going as far to attempt to murder his nebbish brother, but he’s ultimately just kind of A Guy here, and the frivolity is indicated all too well by the ending tag as Superman and Flash cheerfully resume their race. It came close, but it can’t quite go the distance.
“Little Girl Lost”: Another important episode, this introduces Supergirl as well as Granny Goodness and her Female Furies on Apokolips. Nicholle Tom of The Nanny fame makes for an immediately winning Kara, sympathetic in her desire to roam free and tough enough to make her a credible heroine. As said in the main post, the legendary Ed Asner is hilarious and menacing in equal measure as Granny, just the right edge of camp, which Apokolips should always have to one degree or another. It doesn’t make the main list because I think it is a LOT of material to cover even in a two-parter, and I wonder if having Supergirl start in a more mundane adventure could’ve been beneficial. Still, what’s here is fun, and we get enough of Ironside’s Darkseid to tease us further, especially his darkly funny exit: “Teach Granny the price of failure.”
“Monkey Fun”: This is pure Silver Age ridiculousness, and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. Titano the giant space-irradiated monkey is one of Supes’ goofiest threats, and to see him get battered around like a children’s toy is remarkably funny. It’s also a good episode for Lois, as we learn about her military father Sam and childhood with Titano (few things can tug on the heartstrings like a little girl being devastated at a pet being taken away). She even gets to save the day in her own fashion.
“Legacy”: Yes, this is another series where the finale doesn’t end up on the top 10. No, I don’t know how this keeps happening. Mainly I quibbled with putting it there because while they’re excellent episodes, there is a clear sense of unfinished business. We wouldn’t fully answer the questions raised by the story until Justice League Unlimited, especially in regards to characters like Hamilton. And the final note is bittersweet, but hardly definitive. Still, this is some of the best action and drama in the series, especially the iconic Timm-boarded throwdown between Superman and Darkseid, which features just as many great lines as punches.
Other Miscellaneous Favorites: “My Girl”, “Fun and Games”, “Brave New Metropolis”, “The Hand of Fate”, “Knight Time”.
THE TOP 10
10. “Two’s A Crowd”: This feels underrated by a lot of fans tbh. Stan Berkowitz gives us a clever premise in Supes having to rely on Parasite’s absorbing abilities to tap into the mind of Dr. Earl Garver, who’s holding the city ransom via a bomb that he’s hidden. But it’s not quite that simple, and the twists it takes with Garver and Rudy Jones interacting are very well done. Garver benefits hugely from the vocal presence of the legendary Brian Cox, who brings his typical brand of egotistical intellect and confidence to what could have been a generic madman, relishing Berkowitz’s hammy dialogue with gusto. It’s a good showing for Brion James as Jones too, who has his own opinions about getting crowded out of his body, and expressive TMS animation is the cherry on top; while they were always great with action scenes, their character acting is a great boon to this episode in particular.
9. “The Main Man”: Sometimes two-parters in this series feel like butter scraped over too much bread in terms of thin plots getting padded out by action scenes (this would also be an issue at times in the first two seasons of Justice League before the Unlimited rebrand). Thankfully, that’s not the case here, primarily because we have such a surplus of character work. As noted in the main post, Brad Garrett is terrific as Lobo, a character who should never be taken completely seriously, and his comedic crassness matches well with Tim Daly’s increasingly impatient straight man. (Credit also to Harvey R. Cohen for giving Lobo a distinct musical identity with bitchin’ electric guitars) It also does have a genuinely intriguing plot, with the creepy Preserver as a formidable foe and Superman having to use his wits to get out of the situation; my particular favorite moment is him briar patching a group of thugs. Also features the iconic scene where Clark sarcastically confesses to being Superman to annoy Lois.
8. “The Way of All Flesh”: This is a fascinating episode because it takes a premise that would have been an outright tragedy in Batman: The Animated Series and tweaks it to fit this series’ tone. Corben is never anything less than a brutal asshole intent on killing Superman and clearly has no regrets on that score. But the struggle with his dwindling senses is nevertheless compelling, and Malcolm McDowell gives a stellar performance as Corben rages against his loss of humanity. Add in some great TMS-aided fight scenes and one of my favorite cold-blooded Luthor moments (”And just what makes you think there’s anything of him left to find?”), and you’ve got a classic.
7. “Solar Power”: There’s a bit of a pattern with my favorite episodes in terms of Superman having to rely on more than just his powers to solve the problem, and this fits in well here. Edward Lytener, who first debuted in the episode “Target” as a stalker/burned source of Lois, returns to take vengeance on Superman by becoming Doctor Light Luminus and creating a device that turns the Earth’s yellow sun rays into red ones to put Superman on a normal human level. It’s clever plotting, and Robert Hays gives a fantastically smug performance as Lytener, relishing his attacks and holographic tricks (it resembles the kind of stuff Mysterio puts Spider-Man through on the regular at points); he also has one of my favorite big “NO!” deliveries ever.
6. “Mxyzpixilated”: This has a great Looney Tunes vibe, with Superman baffled and confused by Mxyzpltk’s braying jackass routine, but ultimately turning the tables and becoming more of a Bugs Bunny type trickster than I’ve ever seen him as before. It’s another one where Tim Daly gets to shine with deadpan deliveries, such as a moment where a stunned Mxyzpltk blusters that his friends will remain animals if he doesn’t play along: “They don’t seem to mind.” Very funny stuff, with an immensely satisfying ending.
5. “Ghost in the Machine”: Much like Harley Quinn’s introduction in Batman, Luthor’s bodyguard Mercy Graves proved compelling enough in her creation here that she crossed over into the main DCU comics. And it’s easy to see why, with Lisa Edelstein giving her a fantastic don’t-fuck-with-me vocal edge and proving to be incredibly competent. This is a rare showcase for her and Luthor’s relationship, with us learning that she believes that Luthor taking her off the streets made her what she is. It’s more than a little sad, especially with the final moments playing out as Superman looks on. We also get Brainiac and Luthor interacting, which has fantastic dividends here with the tycoon oddly vulnerable and his protestations having little effect on the brutally efficient A.I. (plus it pays off down the line in a very unexpected way in Unlimited).
4. “The Last Son of Krypton”: As said in the main post, this is a top-tier pilot movie, especially part 1 with my favorite depiction of Krypton’s destruction ever. But the other two parts are equally good, with Jason Marsden giving teenage Clark genuine teenage angst without going over the top in part 2, and some truly kickass TMS action in part 3, plus a final scene that says everything it needs to about Superman and Luthor’s relationship.
3. “Apokolips...Now!”: The first part of this is quite good, bringing in Jack Kirby’s New Gods elegantly and giving us the backstory on them and Darkseid. But it’s part two that everyone remembers and gets it on the list, with Darkseid’s invasion of Earth offering dark action scenes with a genuinely operatic atmosphere. The stakes have never been higher, illustrated all too well by the death of Dan Turpin, which still shocks me to this day in its swift brutality. It becomes a loving tribute to Kirby and his work, and this would carry forward in the DCAU to even greater ends.
2. “The Late Mr. Kent”: I’ve never been fond of the idea with either Batman or Superman that one persona is fake and the other is “real”. To me, both should be true to some extent even if they ‘mask’ plenty. And this great episode illustrates why Clark Kent is necessary to him; he belongs in this world, not separate from humanity. The plotting is ingenious, making us wonder how Superman can get an innocent man off death row while appearing to die himself as Clark, and it’s a terrific showing for Lois as she takes up Clark’s quest as a way of honoring him, as best shown in a wonderfully played moment where she admits that she respected and liked him even amidst all the teasing. It features possibly the most chilling ending I’ve ever seen in a Western kid’s cartoon that still gives me goosebumps.
1. “World’s Finest”: Let’s see. Beautiful TMS animation? Check. Thrilling action scenes? Check. Snappy dialogue and outstanding character interactions? Check, double check, triple check. This isn’t just one of the most important episode of the DCAU historically, it’s one of the most purely FUN, barely seeming like it’s straining for effort in bringing all these characters together. Batman and Superman’s initial wary partnership is played just right, with hostility giving way to camaraderie as they save each other by turn and give the promise of more in the future. Even better might be Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane having a genuinely spicy romance, something that feels so obvious but is so rarely played out, and Conroy and Delany feel like an old-school movie star couple in their vocal stylings. And of course there’s the villains, as Luthor and Joker’s deal is inevitably, hilariously doomed to fail, and we get to watch two masters of the craft in Clancy Brown and Mark Hamill go at it like prizefighters. (Also hey, remember when the Joker was threatening AND funny instead of validating every weirdo edgelord on the Internet?) I never get tired of watching this one.

looking for more rp partners on discord!! would absolutely love another small town mumu (multimuse) or two, extra info about me & what i'm looking for under the cut!
hiya, thanks for clickin!! my name is mo! i'm 28, she/her, and i'm in the PST timezone! i'm exclusively looking for rp partners who are at least 21+ please (but preferably closer to my age)! i write on discord only in a private rp server (with tupperbox!) i'll make for us!! i looove organization and will make us some character & ship categories, as well as a town worldbuilding section, i'll also keep track of things like the in-game calendar and timelines in reference to our threads!! once i get invested in an rp, i'm IN THERE in there
i write all genders, but i only write f/f, m/f, and nb ships! i'm looking for writing partners who are similar in enjoying and wanting to write all genders (and who have equal muse for all their characters regardless of gender) as i'm interested in exploring multiple ships and characters! i am also looking for a partner who likes to write a wide variety of ages, as I enjoy writing characters anywhere between the ages of 20s-50s! i prefer using & being opposite by faceclaims with resources from films & tv (i'm not interested in opposites such as sabrina carpenter, harry styles, madison beer, and the like)
i'd love an rp partner who loves to worldbuild, plot, write headcanons (or do little rp memes), share inspo stuff, and chat ooc! pinterest boards and playlists are a bonus! i really enjoy building a friendship with my rp partners as well as a fun, collaborative writing experience! i would absolutely LOVE to create a small town with a new partner and come up with its location, the names of shops and other places, some NPC names, maybe plot up some town lore & history, ect, and fill it up with a bunch of diverse characters and relationships we can continue to add on to over time! i'm interested in exploring relationships of all kinds, including romantic, platonic, familial, antagonistic, ect! for example, new budding romances, exes on good and/or bad terms, toxic exes or relationships, old high school sweethearts, best friends, friends who fell out or grew apart, close siblings, sibling rivals, and just other fun and/or complicated connections ahoy! i just love multi-muses and being able to write a living, breathing town filled with characters who can all freely interact with each other!
because i'd love a slowly expanding cast of characters (maybe start with 2-3 characters each and go from there?), it's very preferable to me that replies stay on the shorter side, as in one paragraph or less (unless the thread is really plot significant or intense/emotional! ik those can get away for us length-wise LOL) this way we can prioritize quality over quantity, and actually get to see relationships & plots evolve over time in many threads rather than spend weeks or months on a single thread and never actually get to all the good stuff we've plotted. in my experience, it's way more fun to have an evolving mumu where replies take maybe 5-10 minutes to write, and it also allows us to keep the progress of the rp going at a continual pace, which keeps it fun, exciting, and fresh!
i am happy to write smut when the relationship/thread calls for it, and i also enjoy nsfw headcanons alongside sfw ones! i'd say i prefer a 80/20 story to smut ratio. i am also comfortable with most dark or complicated themes, but this will probably be case by case basis. i'm looking for a soap opera inspired town mumu, basically! a good variety mix of drama & intrigue, angst & fluff, smut & sweetness, tragedy & other dark themes, ect, but nothing too intensely or consistently dark or taboo
i'd consider myself to be a pretty active rp partner for the most part (i'm in college plus i work sporadic hours as a private tutor) and when replies are on the shorter side, i can usually do at least one set of replies (if we are writing multiple threads at a time, i personally enjoy writing 2 at a time!) a day, but likely more, and i'm down for rapidfire sessions as well when i can! i prefer my partner to have similar activity (it's difficult for me to stay invested in an rp when it mostly just consists of hcs & shared inspo, and when there is very little actual writing happening), though i don't at ALL want my partner to feel pressured to write replies!! it's just a hobby, not a jobby! things happen & life gets busy! but i really appreciate communication and transparency with rp friends! just lmk what's up and i'll do the same for you! and if you can't do replies for some reason, i'm always happy to just chat ooc or do some inspo chatting or plotting!!
this got so long, if you read all of it ily! if you have any questions or are interested in all this shit by me, please send me an IM!! or if you like or comment on this ad, i'll reach out to you! ty!! if i don't reach out it's because i found something in your guidelines that i don't think is compatible with this plot ad (usually has to do with desired reply length being multi-paragraph/novella, listed low activity, if the blog is heavily smut-centric, or rules state exclusively wanting to write one gender or kind of ship) but if your guidelines are out of date pls feel free to reach out anyway!!

Packing efficiently is key to bringing a great selection of camping games without overloading your vehicle. Here’s how to do it:
Prioritize Portability
Choose games that are lightweight and compact. For example, the TRIUMPH SPORTS 35-7287-2 and TRIUMPH SPORTS 35-7399-2 sets are designed for portability, with all components fitting neatly into a carrying case.
Use Multi-Purpose Items
Opt for games that can serve multiple purposes. For instance, a deck of cards can be used for numerous games, providing endless entertainment in a small package.
Organize by Type and Occasion
Categorize your camping games based on when and where you plan to play them. Have a separate bag for quick-access games that can be played at the campsite and another for larger games that require more space.
Best Types of Camping Games for Different Situations
To ensure you’re prepared for any situation, pack a variety of camping games suited for different scenarios:
Outdoor Games
For sunny days and open spaces, games like cornhole, frisbee, and the TRIUMPH SPORTS 35-7399-2 set are perfect. They encourage physical activity and are great for large groups.
Rainy Day Games
Prepare for rainy days by bringing board games, card games, and other indoor-friendly options. Games like Uno, Monopoly, and Jenga are excellent choices that keep the fun going inside the tent.
Evening Games
As the sun sets, gather around the campfire with games that don’t require much light. Storytelling games, charades, and flashlight tag are perfect for nighttime entertainment.
Tips for Maximizing Fun with Camping Games
Here are some tips to make the most of your camping games:
Know the Rules: Before your trip, familiarize yourself with the rules of each game. This ensures smooth gameplay and maximizes enjoyment.
Involve Everyone: Choose games that include everyone, regardless of age or skill level. This fosters a sense of community and makes the experience more inclusive.
