i gave a major bad guy in my dnd character's backstory the last name "oretsev" and i've been trying to remember where on earth i heard that name and the answer is shadow and bone mal oretsev. hearing that name now has the side effect of my fight or flight vaguely going off in the section of my brain i have reserved for my little dnd guy
Thinking about the fact that, to pull Gale from the stone and get him in the game at all, you have to decide to try to touch an extremely dangerous looking swirling mass of unstable magic. Something that is, objectively, a terrible idea
Like, the options it gives you are to either touch the sigil or leave, and if you leave you just... don't get Gale in the party
You have to take the risk. You have to let your curiosity override your common sense. You have to look at this unstable, possibly dangerous malfunctioning magic sigil and go "...Ok, but what if I poke it?"
In short, to get Gale in your party, you have to do exactly what he would in that situation, and indulge in a moment of reckless curiosity. And I just think that's delightful
recent commission of a Pathfinder gnoll druid named Muun! He’s peacefully mixing some herbs together in the morning, before the rest of his rambunctious adventuring party wakes up.
I love how everyone’s reaction to this guy is like “omg look it’s that mysterious drow ranger Drizzt Do’Urden….. he’s so cool……..” meanwhile he only has his hood down like that because he can’t see shit in the sunlight
son boy raccoon trash can man suffering in a dnd au as a cleric bc his warlock will not stop committing murders and he has to keep coming up with reasons murder is valid to convince the gm its fine and under control

Despite charisma being a pretty important stat for paladins, Paul has no charisma in the base plot. So I decided it would be really funny to have him have super low charisma in game, too.
So the whole "roll a save" in town is because Karen and Paul want to visit a tavern for info and Chris thinks it would only be fair to bully Pauladin with an NPC version of his hot bartender depending on the save.
