It's time for the year end Top 10 Webtoons of the Year ranking!!

This list is going to consist of webtoons that I have read this year for longer than six months or have read at least 100 episodes of as I have binge read a lot of things.

I will be ranking them based on how I enjoyed these series. Meaning, this is my own personal tier list. If you do not agree, that's fine. Also, this is not my top 10 of all time, only my top 10 that I've read this year.

10: The Cursed Princess Club

I adore this series. I've been reading it since it first came out and I love everything about it. Gwendolyn is an amazing mc and I will do anything to protect her. The message behind the story is also incredible. This is a great starter series as well.

The story has started what appears to be the final season and so far this is one of my favorite arcs in the story. I loved to see how the art has evolved in the time it has been on Webtoon and I can't wait to see how this story will end.

9: Mage and The Demon Queen

This is a story that I consider to be a Webtoon classic. I love me some GL and this story is so good. It's an amazing comedy yet it also knows when to keep things serious. Not to mention that the art in this story is so beautiful.

This story ended this year and the ending was exactly what I expected of it. I don't mean that in a bad way. This story was perfect in my opinion. I hope that the author comes back to Webtoon with a new story because I love their style so much.

8: Eaternal Nocturnal

This is a newer series on Webtoon, however, the author is not. The author of this story is Instant Miso and for those who have been on Webtoon for a long time may recognize this same as she is the creator of Siren's Lament, THE Webtoon Original. This is the story that got me into Webtoons and when I discovered that she was making a new series I was into it already.

This story is so incredible and I love that the creator is growing with her audience as this story already has darker tones then her previous stories. I am obsessed with the art style so much and it's crazy how beautiful the art continues to get the deeper you get into the story.

7: Batman: Wayne Family Adventures

I. LOVE. THIS. SO. MUCH.

I love me a found family and this is perfect at doing that. A beautiful mixture of comedy, seriousness, and found family. I am not a DC fan. Like, at all. I barely watch the movies and I've never read the comics. Yet, my friend introduced me to this Webtoon and I fell in love with it.

This actually caused me to look into DC and start falling in love with the actual characters. This story is so sweet and amazing. I love it so much.

6: Not So Shoujo Love Story

Like I said, I love me some GL. This is one of my favorite Webtoons of all time. This story is so funny, sweet, and beautiful. The art in this story is so beautiful. The characters are so hilarious and Rei is one of my favorite MC's. She is so funny and relatable I love her some much.

For anyone looking for a good LGBTQ story, I highly recommend this story. It's a romance comedy and perfect for those who are starting out on Webtoons.

5: Homesick

If you love apocalyptic series I highly recommend this one. The MC is such a badass and everything about it leaves me on edge. This series is rated Mature so bare that in mind if you check it out. The art style is so eye catching and the use of color is absolutely perfect.

This story is so good in so many ways. I love the twists and turns throughout the story. It always keeps me guessing as to what will come next and I can't wait to see what comes next.

4: The Remarried Empress

This is my introduction to Manwha and I love it. The story is so amazing and the characters are as well. I adore Navier and Heinery. Soveshit and Trashta are also perfect characters. NOT GOOD PEOPLE BUT GOOD CHARACTERS. I am making it blatantly obvious here that I do not support either of those two but I do love them as characters and how they drive the plot forward. I sincerely cannot wait for them to get what they deserve.

If you want to get into Manwha but don't want the reincarnation trope or living as a book character then I highly recommend this story. The art is breathtaking. Everything about this story is great including the fandom, from what I've seen.

3: My Giant Nerd Boyfriend

IF YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS THEN YOU KNOW WHAT JUST RECENTLY HAPPENED AND YOU KNOW WHY i AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS STORY AAAHAHAHAHHHH

Such an adorable slice of life story that covers everything from comedy, to loss, to struggles, to the growth of relationships. This is one of the Webtoon originals and I wish the creator nothing but happiness from the rest of her life to come.

2: Windbreaker

Those who know me know that this is my favorite Webtoon of all time. I absolutely love everything about this Webtoon. The characters, the art, the storyline. Everything about it.

This Webtoon is currently going through it's final season and I am loving it. We're finally getting answers to questions as well as some much needed character development. It may be a long series, but I always recommend this story.

1: Odd Girl Out

THE WEBTOON ORIGNAL TO ME. YOU WANT DRAMA? BOOM! YOU WANT ROMANCE? BOOM! YOU WANT STUNNING ART? BOOM! YOU WANT INCREDIBLE CHARACTERS? BOOM! YOU WANT A BINGE WORTHY READ? BOOM!

Honestly this series has taken such a hold on me. Nari is one of my favorite characters of all time across any platform. I will protect her with my life and I am so proud of her growth since the first season to now. Not only her, but the other characters as well. All of them. They're all so different and amazing. I love learning about all of them.

I made posters of some webtoons! I particularly love MGNB but I thought some of these would work very well in the teen and YA bedrooms I've been making. Changing the pushpin colors is how I've been practicing working with UV maps, too.

My next challenge is to redesign these with Simlish logos instead buuuut it may take me a minute.

So I was reading "My Giant Nerd Boyfriend" and while reading the comic, these two lovebirds pops out from my mind and decided to make a parody drawing of it. This drawing is really old so don't mind the errors in this

Comfort Comics: My Giant Nerd Boyfriend

If you ever want to get off the stress inducing, horrible news barfing media from either videos or rants on any plataforms that alllows people to get angry about from the most serious to the super dumb reasoning, then this comic might be for you! 

This webcomic is about the chronics of a lovely couple, the author named Fishball and aforementioned Nerd Boyfriend. SPOILER: Now Fiancé, Through the many chapters you can see what an actual healthy couple looks like, the strifes they get, their issues and how they work them with each other and a bit of their past lives prior to meeting each other.

The way the drawings and color palette are use for this webcomic can only be summarize as comfy and approachable, since reading it would make you feel like a friend is telling you an anecdote. I know there are issues with the parasocial situations, although I think comics make it a little harder for this parasocial relationships to become into an obsessive mess (just my unexpert opinion on the matter). 

Aside from that, the combination between the cartoony style to a more realistic to a VERY exagerated cartoony style can be jarring if you aren’t used to the changes in between, but this aspect benefits tremendously to the punchline of the joke, which is mostly how the characters react to a situation. For example, a bit spoilery, Nerd is very afraid of insects, so his reactions from being scared in as a person might not be as funny, unless he was drawn with a horrid expression, color fading off his face and flipping his entire body as he tries to escape a cockroach. Whenever something of the sorts are explained or shown is always a delight since they show care to each other but also banter and light jokes. 

Whenever a hard and serious subject is brought up is always in a very respectful way, very introspective as well. It will make you think about the whole situation that is currently happening since this people are living it or were living it at the moment the strips were updated. It will give you a sense of less loneliness and comfort as this people explained how they’ve been doing, specially through hardships they have experience as of late. It’s always beneficial for everyone to listen to this experiences since it looks like it helps the author as well as the readers. I would lie if I said I didn’t cry a couple of times reading this webcomic, when it hits you IT HITS YOU. 

If anything I feel this comic is like a warm cozy hug, maybe a nice coffee break, or a chill day as you lay down and think about nothing as you spend time with people you like or even a pet (because the author has a pet which is also showcased in their own section as ‘Oh Biscuit!’). 

Do give this comic a read! In a time where life has become hard and my brain is slowly but surely getting better, this comic is a refresher from the craziness from the world, the internet, and even other comics. 

This is a bit of a rant: I’ve grown into a more sensible adult, or maybe just less tolerable to be suffocated. I’ve tried just keeping my feelings to myself from time to time, I put so many expectations to other people that just made me isolate myself due to my own inability of fixing my own issues. I’m kinda in the isolate part a bit since I don’t talk to others about my issues anymore or as much. I find very comforting this kind of comics because it makes me feel like everything is ok at the moment, its a relief, its a break. I always leave this comic at the end because it calms me so much to read it, even the sad chapters. I’ve decided I wanna have an optimistic outlook in life, I wanna continue forward, I wanna experience things. This comic, along other medias have helped me have a more optimistic point of view, not only the idea of things getting better but working hard to get it better. And so far its going! I feel a bit more in control with my own things, I still have a long way to go though. I also kinda learnt a thing about me and I dont know how to really cope? Because It’s not like I have complete confirmation but it makes me believe that it explains a couple of things. In general, I just wanted to talk about this because I love this comic, I love it so much. It feels like a hug even if it sounds weird. I like when things make me feel cared in an odd way. I dont know how else to explained it. Anyway!

My Giant Nerd Boyfriend

I'm glad to say that I'm alive!! (o_ _)ﾉ彡☆ I'm finally here with a new post, and I'm planning to stick around. I haven't had the chance to finish any shows, so here's a Webtoon I love.

<My Giant Nerd Boyfriend> is a Webtoon about the normal life of a couple. This series talks about family, relationships, careers, emotions, and everything that we all experience in our "normal lives".

It's probably the best slice-of-life, chill Webtoons ever. It has a good mix of relatability, sad moments, happy moments, and silly moments. It feels like you're reading the author's diary. I absolutely love it. Even if you fall behind on chapters like I have cough, it's very easy to catch up with the series.

The only downside with this series is that I think it gets better as you read. Is that even a downside though lol? I feel bad that you may have to start from the very beginning because I think its peak is right now (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)b  Better start asap!

TLDR;

If you need an easy-to-read, casual, chill but still emotional and addicting Webtoon, <My Giant Nerd Boyfriend> is the manga for you. You desperately need to start this series if your taste is like mine. This is a Webtoon that’ll always be on my radar.

Five: Boyfriends

This webtoon is about these four college boys who start dating in a polyamorous relationship with each other. Its really sweet and wholesome. There isnt like a lot of drama or anything like that. Just four boys who learn how to love each other and be able to be themselves.

There are four main characters, Goth, Jock, Nerd, and Prep, which the story mainly following the perspective of Prep. Goth and Prep have been life long friends while Jock and Nerd have just met them. The story starts with Goth and Nerd dating and Prep and Jock dating but it goes into all of them getting together.

Not only is the story adorable but so is the art. Its a fairly simplistic style but its very cute and makes me fall in love with the characters even more. The artist goes by refrainbow and you can find the comic here.

Four: Get Schooled

Looking at this photo you would think that it is a happier tale, right? WRONG THIS IS A STORY ABOUT BULLYING AND ABUSE AND TRAUMA!!! Basically its about this organization that goes to problem schools to keep the students in check by beating them to a pulp.

The main character is this story Hwajin Na, who joined this company with his father in law. Apparently his wife has passed but the story hasnt told us how or who she is.

This story is rather gorey and there are quite a few trigger warnings so this is not for the feint of heart. But it is a good story with a good message about bullying and abuse. There are two artists, Yongtaek Chae and GARAM HAN, and you can find the webcomic here.

Three: Odd Girl Out

This webtoon is like a k-drama that follows a high school girl trying to become and independent person and coming to terms with her beauty amongst her overly beautiful friends. However, the second season mainly focuses on the heroine overcoming her insecurities and becoming a sort of leader amongst her peers.

Our main heroine is Nari Oh. She is a normal girl who is drawn into the drama brought on by her friend group while she is simply trying to live a normal life.

The art of this story is hilarious and really pretty. The artist puts a lot of hard work into this story and characters to make it so beautiful. The artist goes by morangji and you can find the webtoon here.

Two: My Giant Nerd Boyfriend

This is a rather popular story that I'm sure all of you have heard of. Its a story about a tiny weird girlfriend and her giant nerd boyfriend living together and their daily lives.

This story is told by fishball as she lives life with her boyfriend and dog, Biscuit. I dont believe they have told anyone their real names in the webtoon however. On an exciting note, the story has changed from My Gaint Nerd Boyfriend, to Mu Gaint Nerd Fiance!!!!

This art is very simplistic and comes in the form of these sort of comic strips. Its an adorable style and the characters are so cute! The artist goes by fishball and you can find the webtoon here.

One: Windbreaker

No one was surprised with this option. Windbreaker follows the story of extreme cycling and is completely fictional. Please for the love of god do not attempt to do anything they do in this series.

Jay Jo is the main character. The story follows his life, his friends, his family, and his intense love of cycling. This story makes you feel a connection to all of the characters and out of all of the webtoons becoming animated I really hope this becomes one.

The art is truly incredible and there is a lot of time and detail put into it. Its a really long series but it is so worth it. And this is also the final season or so i have been told. The artist is Yongseok Jo and you can find the webtoon here.

The Greatest Hiatus

My Giant Nerd Boyfriend has had a little subscript for a while

And now the comic's on hiatus for a month. There's a comic letting us know why, but also doing something Fishball's really excellent at, which is giving the feeling of being in the space.

There's a panel of a suit-jacket hanging in the middle of the room and...yup. That's what my brother and I did when we were getting things together for the wedding we went to just a month ago.

The "telling us what's happening" comic never uses the word wedding, but still makes it crystal clear. I love it.
