This is not a man who has made a plot against Rhaenyra to ruin her, oh no this is a man who drinks to tame the pain/lust all of the feelings for a woman he isn't supposed to want. He has done the deed and paid for the rumors to be spread, he should be happy. Daemon has the self-esteem to be a king, he has won wars, and he isn't going to let some knights or his brother treat him like he is lower than them, he has standards and now he lets the king beat him like he is a common dog. He could have gone to some whore exactly as Rhaenyra said but he didn't he went somewhere to hide and drink himself to death. There is way more in him, he knew he shouldn't have done this to Rhaenyra she even might hate him and maybe that's what he wants so they would not let each other have one another. Well, destiny is a destiny it has to happen and we have spoilers/ trailers so let's enjoy the ride.

Karneval and Fairy Tails ?!
Of course! This one was tough but fun to work on and I hope you'll like the direction I went with it. My apologies on this taking so long to get to you!
Okay, so the basis for this AU is probably the most tropery and cliched out of all the ones I've done so far but it's really the direction my mind kept going and an idea that I really liked despite those drawbacks.
So, I see this less of a traditional AU and more of a switched between worlds style AU. Kafka was, of course, responsible for the switch, using some magical means to send the characters working for and involved with Circus through the universes. Each character gets sent to their own unique fairy tale, which they must live through, survive, and find a unique 'key' that will allow them to escape that fairy tale world so that they can travel to other fairy tales to find the others, as they all just instinctively know, through that same magic that sent them there, that the only way back to their original world and lives are if all the keys are found.
So, I will admit that initially I had looked up all these different fairy tales and really hunted down the ones that metaphorically and in terms of content I felt really suited each of the characters but, half-way through writing it, I really had felt that it was too easy for each of the characters to get out of them and really, in the end, it was a bit too on the nose for me as a writer. I felt heavy-handed and didn't really feel it was great story-wise and knew that that would also show through to you guys, the readers.
So I took an abrupt twist and turn and looked up what were considered the ten most popular fairy tales, since there are ten characters I'm working with really here and covering. After that, I let the internet's random pickers match the characters for me and that made things just a bit more interesting I hope.
So, we're going to start with Jiki first, who wakes up in this strange new world to what is, yes, an absolutely beautiful fairy. But she becomes much less beautiful when she tells him how she has no choice, she must do this for his own good and then turns him into a frog. That's right, Jiki got himself landed straight into the good old classic tale of The Frog Prince. Though he isn't really all that familiar with the fable himself, he just goes by what the fairy who cursed him told him, which was that he must get a beautiful princess to love him, to take him in and care for him, to let him drink from her cup, eat from her plate, and sleep on her pillow. Now, initially Jiki really does think the fairy is setting him a really impossible task and that he's going to have to risk his life just trying to invade a castle, steal onto tables and beds without being seen, and cheat to get those conditions fulfilled. Once he figures out, though, that as a cursed animal he can communicate with humans and have them understand him, he really does think the whole thing will be so much simpler. He lays on the charm, the good manners, smoozes each princess he can come across but every time he's met with either fright, disgust, fear, or them running away because 'eww, this frog is going to give my delicate little hands all kinds of warts'. By the fifth or sixth princess he's tried the routine on, Jiki is just getting sick of it all so when he meets the next princess, he does try the same routine, at first. But when that princess reacts exactly like the others had, Jiki loses a little bit of his composure. He looks at her and is just like 'holy fuck, you're kind of an idiot, aren't you? I mean, obviously I'm no normal frogs. Look at all these other frogs…any of them speaking to you? No, because frogs can't talk so there's proof towards what I'm telling you, that I'm a cursed person. Also, I'm not asking for your first born child or any shit or even for true love's kiss, just need to drink from your cup, eat from your plate and sleep on your pillow. The fairy didn't even say you had to drink from the cup after me, eat the food on the plate after feeding me, or even sleep beside me on that pillow. Just do those things, get a new cup and plate, change out your pillow, and I'll be out of your hair, you spoiled brat. Also, there's no amphibian that will give you warts, that's an old wives tale and I honestly thought the education system for princesses would be so much better than this, you might wanna fix that when you rule this kingdom.' Thank god for Jiki but this princess was actually a little into degradation so him being a jackass because he is just so fed up with this and wants to get out and back to his normal life really works on her and she does what he asks. And poof, Jiki turns back into a human on her bed, wearing a crown because the frog was always a prince and the second he reaches up and touches that crown, he knows it's his key. He actually says a really nice farewell to the princess before he takes the crown and skeedaddles on down the road, which he just sort of knows with certainty will now take him into the tale one of the others is trapped in.
And it's a good thing he did, because the tale he falls into is Kichi's. She has made zero progress in her tale, though it really wasn't her fault, something she makes clearly known because boy, does it kill her pride that she hasn't been able to find her key, especially when Jiki had found his. But how could she? She was at a disadvantage from the start because, though she knows she could do this alone, nobody seems willing to allow the tale to move forward, they just keep talking about how they need to wait for her 'brother' to get back from playing outdoors and they keep repeating the same day over and over. To say this annoys her greatly is an understatement. Everything about her life there is horrible - her 'parents' seem to hate her and are mean to her, their house is small, cramped and poverty stricken and she just wants to leave this place but cannot seem to manage it. She's honestly a little relieved to see Jiki when he shows up and is declared her brother, just because it means she can finally leave. Not that she'll ever let him know that. The two bicker and argue, but the story finally progresses, with them both being brought into the woods by their 'father', who abandons them in a deep, dark part of it. While searching the forest, the two of them come across a huge house made out of gingerbread, cake and candy. Kichi has, quite honestly, been starving in the house all this time, subsisting only on bread and water once a day because that's all the family could really afford. Needless to say, she doesn't care that it's destruction of someone else's property, that the candy and cake are all stale as fuck, she sneaks some candy off that. When the witch comes out and starts offering to feed them…Kichi and Jiki have both seen enough as Circus members, they know where this is likely heading. They both accept going inside the house but both are on their guard. While the witch had obviously been intending on fattening them both up first, the constant snide little remarks and bickering between Jiki and Kichi drove the poor witch up a wall and yeah, she figured they were healthy enough for her to just cook and eat as was. Once the duo knew that yeah, they were right, obviously this nice old lady had bad intentions, I like to imagine them really kicking her ass and going back to back badasses, just because I love the trope so much, all while still kind of picking at each other, teasing each other. The witch gets pushed into her own oven and Kichi learns that the oven handle is actually her key so that gets taken off the oven pretty quickly, once the two of them figure out how to do so. With Kichi's key found, they leave the now melting house of goodies and know that when they do, they'll find their way into someone else's tale.
We're going to take a short break from where Jiki and Kichi end up to switch to Iva, who finds herself waking up in her story already leading this poor, way too skinny cow down a country road and with the knowledge in her head that to get back home, she needs to find the golden goose. She's walking down the road when this dude just walks right up to her and offers to buy her cow from her. She isn't really all that attached to the cow and would rather have money that will let her find that golden goose, since money seems much more useful than a cow, so while the dude is kind of gross in her opinion, she's more than willing to do business with him. Well, she is until she learns that he's not even offering to give her money for the cow. No, all this cheap-ass dude, who's looking way too closely at her boobs, is offering to give her is a lousy handful of beans, which he tells her are magic beans. Yeah, she's had experience with con-men before and she loses her temper a little bit. To try to stop the beating Iva gives him early and to make her go away because yeah, she was beautiful but lord is this woman scary, this bean salesman has learned, he's begging her to just let him show her and hell, she can keep her cow too, just please stop hitting him and he'll plant the beans for her. Iva relents a little, the man plants the beans, adds some water, and what do you know? Turns out, Iva discovers, that the man was telling the truth because this humungous beanstalk starts growing and doesn't seem to stop growing, as it disappears up past the clouds. She might not like the man, but a fair trade has to be a fair trade, and she does send him off, now bloodied, with her cow in exchange for his beans and the advice to climb the beanstalk to find unimaginable riches. So that's precisely what Iva does. When she finds herself at the top of the beanstalk, she's in the castle of what she soon figures out in a very bad-tempered giant who tells her he can smell her and is going to grind her up and eat her. She really doesn't take too kindly to this but even for her, taking on a giant single-handly isn't going to be great. So she does everything she can to evade him, finding and stealing some of the riches of his castle as she goes along because honestly, it seems fair to her that she should be able to take some of these jewels and gold in exchange for the fact he's trying to kill her, right? She eventually, while evading the giant, comes across the golden goose, which she grabs right away because yes, this is the thing that will take her home right and she needs that because the giant is now right behind her. Except she grabs it and…nothing? Literally nothing happens, she's still stuck in the story. The giant is right there now and to distract him and because Iva's now really angry that she found this goose and it didn't work, she chucks the bird, full force, towards the giant. The bird is so flustered that out pops a golden egg. Iva sees this and dives just as the giant reaches out his great mitt to grab her. She catches the golden egg, just barely, just by the tips of her fingers, and knows that is her key and that all she needs to do is find her way back to the original beanstalk. Filled with new purpose, she uses a knife she found along her journey in stab the giant in the thumb before he can grab her and, still clutching that golden egg and with the other things she'd stolen strapped onto her, the chase is back on as she runs back to the beanstalk and literally tosses herself down it, knowing that when she lands, it will be in someone else's story.
And Iva finds herself so relieved to find that the first person she sees, the first tale she falls into is Tsukumo's tale. Tsukumo is very glad to see Iva, though she doesn't really need the woman's help. She has her tale very well handled, honestly. Tsukumo had found herself being sent from her 'mother's' house, wrapped in a bright red cape and hood, with orders to deliver a basket of wine and cake to her grandmother's house and not to leave the path. Tsukumo wasn't quite sure what was going on, but she has always been good about following orders. So she headed off along the path, where she found herself approached by a talking wolf, who, upon learning of her task, suggested picking a bouquet of flowers to add to the basket of goodies going to her grandmother. While it did seem like a good idea, Tsukumo pointed out that there weren't too many flowers along the path proper, to which the wolf had responded that there were all kinds of beautiful flowers just a bit off the path, just to her right, not even more than three minutes walk. Tsukumo hadn't even hesitated in her answer that, thanks for the suggestion, but she'd been told not to leave the path and she had no plans on breaking those rules and if the wolf would please excuse her, she had to be getting on her way. This was about the time the wolf gave up its pretenses and just attacked her, and it was while Tsukumo was fighting the almost magically strong and vicious wolf that Iva dropped into the fight. To say the wolf was toast goes without saying. The wolf slain, the tale should have been complete but Tsukumo still had no idea what her key could possibly be. Iva had suggested they make a picnic out of the goodies meant for the grandmother and figure it out together, but Tsukumo refuses. The goodies are meant for the grandmother after all, she couldn't take them from her. Instead Tsukumo insists on finishing the journey to the grandmother's house, which turns out to be the right call. Tsukumo knows, upon setting eyes on it, that her key is the grandmother's sleeping bonnet and she makes the elderly lady a trade. Tsukumo and Iva have a lovely meal of wine and cake with the grandmother and then Tsukumo gives the old lady her cape and hood, while she wears the bonnet out the door, knowing that by doing so, her and Iva will leave this woman and this tale forever and will find themselves in someone else's story.
Which is how Iva and Tsukumo join Kichi and Jiki into falling into Tsukitachi's story. What they find though? Honestly, it annoys all of them to varying degrees. See, Tsukitachi fell into the story of Puss in Boots, where he had to take the role of the cat and use all his cunning and wisdom to make his master a grand marquis and get the King's daughter to marry him. Which, honestly, Tsukitachi managed without too much trouble at all. When everyone falls into his story, he's completed it, found his key in the boots, and is just simply having too much fun, since the wedding had turned into a days long party, to want to leave quite yet. He greets everyone so happily (and slightly drunkenly) and lets them know what's going on, encourages them to stay and enjoy themselves a little, why not, he's not quite ready to leave yet…needless to say, Tsukitachi is left with no other choice but to leave his tale and might have been forcibly dragged away so that they can all move forward. He takes it all in good humour though.
Especially since the next tale all of them fall into is Doctor Akari's. Akari had gotten sent into the tale of Sleeping Beauty, where he had learned that he was taking the place of the princess, cursed to prick his finger on a spindle when he turned sixteen and sleep for a hundred years until a kiss awoke him. But, since he got sent back to when the fairy cursed him, he put the extra time to use and while he still ended up pricking his finger, the tale's progression too strong for him to resist, when the others find him sleeping beside this spinning wheel (because everyone else in the tale falls asleep with him so there's no one to carry him to a bed), they find there's a note he pinned to his chest so that no one could miss it. 'Do not kiss me. There is an antidote to this magic in my pocket, inject that into me instead.' And honestly, everyone is getting ready to follow Akari's orders until Tsukitachi stops them. Because like…it's fun to mess with Akari and can you just imagine his face if someone were to kiss him and wake him up instead? Tsukitachi actually becomes somewhat insistent on this because he sees a way to mess with Akari and that is too good to pass up and the others really see it as just easier and quicker to go along with Tsukitachi, as the man takes the antidote from Akari's pocket anyway, so they would have had to get it away from Tsukitachi to give it to Akari. I just find it a funny idea, but they all play rock paper scissors to decide who has to kiss Akari because while the idea amuses Tsukitachi, nobody really wants to kiss the man. Poor Tsukitachi loses anyway, when it got down to just him and Iva (because there was no force in nature that was going to make Iva kiss Akari and she made sure Tsukitachi knew that) and he plants one on Akari, who wakes up. And lord, Akari is pissed because like…he left solid instructions. Do they know how long he had to work to come up with that magic antidote? They wasted so much of his time and efforts and eww, he did not want to be kissed, especially by Tsukitachi. Tsukitachi handing Akari his antidote back and assuring the man that it could probably come in useful elsewhere along this whole journey, as they still had others to rescue, really calmed Akari down. Akari breaks off the spindle, which is his key, and they all progress into the next tale, since honestly, Akari is just so ready for this all to be done and over with and is in a bad temper.
Tsukitachi doesn't seem to be immediately right though. The next tale finds no use for Akari's antidote, but does jolly Akari up somewhat, considering it's Hirato's tale they fall into and boy, is it nice to see Hirato be 'in distress' for once. Though honestly, it turns out Hirato was less in distress than they thought. See, he had fallen into the tale of Rapunzel and found himself locked up in a tower, his hair growing at a super fast rate, with no way to escape that he could immediately see. A witch would visit him once a week and though Hirato had come up with a few escape plans before very long, he kept still in his tower, trying to see if he could garner any information from the witch. The others pop into his tale about the time that Hirato decides that he has learned all he possibly can from the witch and that he would make his escape that day. The others stumble across this tower, see Hirato at the top window and the witch climbing back down his hair to the ground below. Once the witch is truly gone, they all hurry to the tower, yelling at Hirato to get his attention. He pokes his head out the window, sees them and just politely smiles and tells them to give him a second. The next thing they see is Hirato, now with much shorter hair, wrapping this super long braid around a hook by the window. Turns out he had pickpocketed a knife the witch had brought to cut up his weekly food for him before she left and he used the braid he had been sporting to climb down and join the others. He digs a rock out of the surface of the tower with the others help, knowing that the tower itself is his key and he must take a piece of it with him to be able to leave. The group walk into the forest and poof, into the next tale.
Honestly, this tale makes Akari much happier, if only because it's in this one that Akari does find a use for his magical antidote. The tale they come into is Yogi's. Yogi had found himself in the tale of Snow White. While he had been quick to figure out the Huntsmen had been planning on killing him when he was sent to accompany Yogi, on his evil stepmother's order, and had fought and defeated the Huntsmen, Yogi was still completely unsure of how to get out of his tale. His key wasn't anywhere around that he could see and so he stumbled through the woods, trying to figure out what to do next. He came across the seven dwarves cottage and they took him in. Honestly, Yogi was having so much fun with the dwarves, and really began to care about them greatly, that he got kind of distracted in finding his key and getting to the others. Too bad his key was also his undoing. While he knew the apple his evil stepmother, disguised as a passing elderly woman, was his key, the magic on it was too great and he couldn't help himself from biting into it, the curse on the apple causing him to fall into an enchanted sleep. The dwarves grieved him greatly and put him in a glass coffin in the forest, which is where the others all find him. They remove the glass cover and there's some talk of trying kissing again, since that helped the last sleeping person but Akari is having none of that bullshit again and Yogi gets unceremoniously stabbed and injected with Akari's antidote. He awakens to find himself still holding the apple, thank god, as that is his key, and with all his friends around him. He says a tearful goodbye to the kind dwarves, and they all move along to the next tale, all of them feeling good because like…they're almost to the end. They can think, really, of only a couple more people they may have to rescue.
Gareki is having one hell of a time and it's putting it lightly to say he really hates the tale he fell into. He had awoken in his tale to find himself in the process of being cursed by a fairy to assume the form of a monster until he could truly love another and find that love returned to him in kind. Now, problems with that…one, Gareki himself has a really hard time allowing himself to grow attached to other people, it turns out it's not really love if you're simply trying to grow attached to break a curse, and his monstrous form really does tend to send almost everyone running and screaming away from him. He's beginning to think there's no freaking way he's ever going to find a way out of this bogus, stupid tale when the others make their way into his tale. And honestly, things didn't go so well at first because all the others saw, when they stumbled onto this castle, was a monster. It took a little bit for Gareki to really get them to accept, without any doubts, that he was the monster. After that, the curse became a lot easier to break…though still not easy because Gareki? Admit and accept his feelings? Boy oh boy, is that one of the toughest things in the world for him. But it's only through accepting and admitting out loud, even as a whisper, that he truly does love and care about his comrades, and their own assurances that hey, they need Gareki around and he's part of their family (along with a few cracks about how they accept his new form because hey, there's really not much change from his normal face and this monstrous one) and that they care about him for the spell to be broken, though it takes a lot longer than it would if it was anyone else than Gareki cursed. When the curse fades, Gareki realizes that his key is one of the roses in the castle garden and plucking it, all of them make their way into the final tale.
That last tale, of course, being the one Nai got dropped into. Nai found himself dropped into a world where he quickly lost the man who said he was Nai's father, and where his stepmother and stepsisters quickly put him to work. Of course, his tale is Cinderella and we all know how the story goes. Nai really is too nice for his own good though and too blindly following…he really works hard and does what's demanded of him because by doing so, he gets a bed and regular meals and he actually gets really used to his new life, though he cries every day because he terribly misses his friends and life with Circus and wishes to go back to it. But he really doesn't know how to find his way back by himself and he doesn't want to be turned out into the street with no home at all and no food, like he keeps being threatened with. And in his own way, he does grow to care about his newly found stepmother and stepsisters and really wants to make them happy. He seems to think that if he just does everything they ask and does it really well, they'll start being nicer to him so he tries really hard. And when the ball comes around and his stepmother forbids him to go unless all the work is done, knowing that breaking her rules will make his stepmother really mad, he keeps turning down the fairy godmother's offer, and the story just keeps repeating itself every so often, over and over, because, though he doesn't know it, the story can't progress without him saying yes to his own freedom. Which is why it's so lucky that the Circus members drop into his story and find him out running an errand for his stepmother. Flat out, after learning the kind of life he's living and seeing how dirty and run down he is, no one is letting Nai go back to that. And he's perfectly okay with that because all his friends are there now, they can help him get home and protect him. And lo and behold, the fairy finds all of them in their new location, a set of rooms Iva rents for them in this world with all her gold and still makes the same offer to Nai. With encouragement from his friends, and an assurance from the fairy godmother that they can go to the ball with Nai, Nai accepts the fairy's offer and finds his key in the glass shoes he's gifted, along with new fine clothing.
With all the keys finally gathered, the Circus members all return to their world, glad to be back there, intent on studying the magic that caused the switch in worlds and, in a couple cases because let's be honest, a few of these people are very much not opposed to the idea of revenge, very intent on dealing out some much needed punishment to those that put them through that.

NCT 127: at a frat party
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
❁ [Taeil] Introverted confidant; Taeil is the guy you go to to seek solace in when you're not really feeling the vibe. Maybe the music sucked, the drinks weren't having an effect on you or it was too rowdy, whatever the problem was you could always sneak away or locate him somewhere a little quieter and just observe the mess from a distance. He'll laugh appreciatively if you took the initiative to sneak some snacks or drinks laid out and ruffle you hair playfully to thank you, making astute remarks about how drunk his friends are and groan about how he'll probably have to carry one of them home later. It's likely that you'll both be stuck with the task of making sure everyone gets home safe, shove bread in someone's mouth in hopes of it helping somehow even if you're not totally sober yourself. Maybe he gets really into the party once in a while, and when he does he benignly encourages you to let loose yourself and join in the fun, however it's almost always a guarantee that you'll end up taking a breather from the noise together in the garden, the part of the living room that isn't occupied, in desperate situations a random storage cupboard (Everybody got the wrong idea with that one) (No, you never quite lived it down). It's a nice feeling to see his expression perk when he finally sees you, the quick hug you always exchange, the knowing glances when your social batteries are already dying and its time to dip.
❁ [Johnny] Life of the party; Being the extroverted king he is, Johnny is the guy you might end up holding onto his sleeve for most of the night, figuratively. The guy that knows everyone, he'll happily adopt you if you look like you feel out of your depth and kindly make you a drink and usher you towards a group to try and let loose. Being with Johnny means a lot of attention, being introduced to people here and there and him playfully picking on you during drinking games, volunteering to make a fool of himself when someone dares you to do something a little too outrageous. Johnny is the comfort you need whilst simultaneously the reason for your death because drunk Johnny means a lot of shameless flirting and eye contact from across the kitchen counter, as well as keeping you close to his side and out of reach when someone else tries the same thing on you. At some heinous hour in the morning the rooms are considerably emptier, discarded cups everywhere and chiller music is humming from the bluetooth speakers, you could kid yourself that it was just you two even though you're sitting in a pool of people. His arm swung casually around your shoulders, "Did you have a good time?" Falling from his mouth slightly slurred and giving you an affectionate squeeze and a lazy kiss to the top of your head when you nod your head yes.
❁ [Taeyong] Hangover mum no. 1; We all know Taeyong has his maternal vibe going on, but lest we forget he too is a guy in his mid twenties looking for a good time. That being said, he wasn't surprised when Johnny dropped you off to his charge, the smell of alcohol radiating off of you, your appearance looking a lot more fragile from what he remembered when you first arrived that evening. He was incredibly patient, letting you rest in his bedroom while you sipped your water, salty pretzels at the ready for when you got the munchies and if disaster struck, he didn't judge when he pushed your hair back for a tactical chunder. He would assure you that you weren't keeping him from his friends when it had been a little while, and would keep a close eye on you when you rejoin the group, just a cup of lemonade in your grasp as a means of preventing a relapse. He's the guy that doesn't pressure you to join during drinking games, is perfectly content to give you his hoodie and let you sidle up to him as means of comfort and just observe everyone else admitting to disgusting truths during Never Have I Ever. At the end of the night he walks to your pace, will listen and hum attentively at any drunken musings that fall out of your mouth he knows you'll regret telling him tomorrow.
❁ [Yuta] King of the drinking games; Yuta isn't the type to shy away from a good time, and he's always front and centre when it comes to lowkey humiliating himself in Ring of Fire, truth or dare, or any of the classics. His confidence outweighs the most disgusting things he's admitted to doing, the embarrassment of what someone dared him to do and you've never seen someone chug a drink with so much gusto. Always manages to come up with the most evil questions, hitting right where it hurts and you dread when his turn rolls around again and his gaze lands on you. He's impressed when you take up his dares with dignity, or admit shamelessly to any hidden tattoos or piercings. If you caught his interest, will switch on the scorpio and keep his gaze trained on you for the rest of the night, will try and pry any information out of you by keeping you included in conversations and will 100% invite you to his room when the party is over. His demeanour reads as chaotic, he thrives being around his friends, but you somehow manage to unlock that calmer more intuitive part of him when he catches you outside the bathroom to check that he didn't go too far during one of the infamous games being played in the living room.
❁ [Doyoung] Hangover mum no.2; We've all seen the sweet and caring side of Doyoung jump out before, so if you're on your merry way towards being wasted he can't help but intervene to make sure you're ok. Don't be fooled though, he doesn't really have the patience of Taeyong, so expect a whole lotta tough love. He won't hesitate to flick you on the forehead when you get a little too in his face, though he deliberately doesn't do it too hard. Inadvertently gives off the impression that you're a nuisance as he scoffs and sighs at you weeping over a packet of crisps, has to later make a point of assuring you that "you're fine, you should just know better". There's an air of fondness that lingers when you settle down a bit and start to enjoy yourself at a more acceptable level of tipsiness and he insists that he walks you home. "Begrudgingly" hands over his jacket when you complain about being cold even though that was his plan all along, and takes mental notes of all the ridiculous drunken comments you make so he can torment you with them later.
❁ [Jaehyun] The guy who may or may not be responsible for your death; One thing about Jaehyun, he's the guy who's terrible at mixing drinks. Don't look at Johnny, he won't help you, when you asked for sex on the beach expect anal on the rocks because Jaehyun knows jack shit about ratio of alcohol to mixer. Don't worry too much, as much as it's his fault for accidentally getting you trashed, he takes as much responsibility for looking after you and making sure you have a good time. Lowkey turns into a frat boy cliche, the hat is on backwards and he's already tugging your arm to coerce you into being his partner for beer pong. He drinks most of the cups whenever you lose to make up for the terrifying concoctions he had you drink earlier and celebrates over excessively when you win by wrapping his arms tightly around your waist and lifting you in to the air slightly. His harmless nice chad vibes make for good company and there's the tingly feeling of chemistry when he laughs loudly at your jokes, eyes turning into little crescents and dimples popping, he watches proudly and thinks "that's my girl" when you make all his friends laugh with you.
❁ [Jungwoo] Level 300 clinger; whether you're moving between groups, leaving to get more food, or shifting to get a better view of the beer pong table, Jungwoo will find a way to squeeze in next to you some way some how. You can always feel an arm ghosting around your waist or around your shoulders, or hear his giggle right there beside your ear. After spending so much time on your feet, you both eventually flop on the sofa, a tangled mess of limbs whilst you try and catch your breath. People keep asking if you're together because of the excessive physical contact, and you hate how he thrives at you scrambling awkwardly for an answer to convey that wasn't the case while he just smiles innocently, making no effort to debunk the comments. There's a high chance that if either of you end up staying over in the other's house, he'll make sure he'll consensually sleep right there next to you, talking randomly about any topic that crosses his mind until you fall asleep. The mornings involve laughing at each other's bed head until you tune into your hangover's, sharing the one bottle of water while scrambling for painkillers and nagging at each other for not cutting either of you off when you went too far.
❁ [Mark] Lightweight; to keep it short and simple, Mark Lee proved himself to be a bit of a lightweight from the get-go, and now here you were, the room dim and bass thumping while Mark laughs loudly at whatever Johnny was saying and you haven't even been there for an hour yet. Mark is the guy that is kinda hard to keep track of, you thought you saw him in the kitchen but now he's messing around with Haechan in the garden and each time you regroup with him he's even more drunk than before. He always finds you eventually, maybe you were taking a load off at the snack table, munching crisps and replying to texts when a lanky arm swings over your shoulders and Mark's smily face is way too close to your line of sight asking if you're OK. If he feels he's neglected you for too long he overcompensates by ushering you to his current group and making a point of pulling a fold out chair right next to his, his laugh dominating the conversation even if the joke wasn't that funny. When the night draws to a close, he settles down, the lack of people taking a toll on his energy and that's where he engages in conversations way too deep for a frat party and way too personal for just friends, though you never worried, there was no way he would remember any of this tomorrow.
❁ [Haechan] Partner in crime; That one friend who you end up hanging with the whole night, even if that wasn't the intention. Haechan doesn't fear drunkenness, it doesn't seem like he fears anything, and he'll always without fail drag you down with him. He's the guy that cheers obnoxiously when you down your shot, always picks on you in the drinking games because he loves to see you embarrassed and the one you sneak away with to try cigarettes even if it turns out you don't really like them. His famous last words are always "I'll do it if you do it" and that's the story of how you both ended up jumping into a neighbour's pool completely wasted, and now hoarding the bottle of tequila. Haechan is the guy that kind of makes you make a complete fool out of yourself, but always assures you that nobody will remember by the morning and to just live in the moment. Your favourite part of these frat parties is always looking through your photos the next day and laughing at all the horrendous selfies and videos he took before you noticed he had your phone for the last 15 minutes.

Pure Honey | Chapter Four
Pairing: Pedro Pascal x Reader
Plot: Certain types of love are everywhere, some are more accepted than others- or at least that’s what he thinks.
Warnings: still angst, still swearing but not as much
Previous chapter | PH Masterlist
Song to listen to while reading:
Tumblr media
Pedro didn't catch her that night.
He ran after her, as fast as he could, but after he nearly tripped and fell down the remaining twenty stairs- he didn't manage to get to be in the lobby in time.
He tried to call her. 342 times to be precise, but he was always greeted by her voicemail. A week passed and then another. And before he knew it, a month went by.
"Y/N, hi. It's me. Please, call me back when you find the time. Life without you feels... deserted. I don't know, it sounds so cliche- claiming that someone makes your life worth living. Please don't understand me wrong, I don't want to put any pressure on you that my life only meant something because you were a part of it. But you played a big part in me enjoying it. I think what I want to say is that... I miss you. Please, call me back."
Then one day he stopped calling her. And over time the pain came to be... more bearable. It didn't become easier, it just became more sufferable. Almost like he learned how to make drowning more comfortable.
After all, he even avoided canceling plans, simply because a part of him was hoping that maybe she would call him back that night.
But every now and then she crossed his mind, like a breeze in July. And after a few months, it didn't hurt anymore. He acknowledged that she was his first love and that first loves have to end eventually. To make room for a second love. The only problem was, his second love wasn't showing up.
"Jimmy Kimmel begins in a few minutes, you guys. Let's move into the living room.", a friend of Sarah's says out loud, while Pedro takes a wine glass out of the cupboard. "Who's the musical guest for tonight?", someone else asks and the actor fills it up with red liquid.
"The Arctic Monkeys. God, I fucking love them."
He almost drops the bottle. Sarah who is standing in the door frame turns to look at her best friend: "I can tell them to turn it off."
"It's fine.", he answers, and for the first time, he wasn't completely lying.
"Ladies and gentlemen, after having to postpone the album for almost four months- now performing the song "Fireplace.", from their new album 'AM', give it up for the Arctic Monkeys." Pedro turns around to look at the TV from his place in the kitchen.
"By the way, do you remember Melanie? I feel like you two could really hit it off, I mean-."
Pedro feels how Sarah's hand is on his shoulder, but he isn't listening to her. His entire focus lies on Y/N and his jaw slightly drops at the sight of her. She looks breathtaking, while she wears a long black dress that somehow seems quite familiar to him.
“I can’t explain but I want to try, there’s this image of you and I. And it goes dancing by in the morning and in the night time.”, her voice sounds like heaven to his ears- sweet and soft, almost like pure honey. How he misses hearing his name rolling off that tongue:” There’s all these secrets that I can’t keep like in my heart there’s that hotel suite and you lived there so long. It’s kinda strange now you’re gone.”
He swallows thickly.
“I’m not sure if I should show you what I’ve found. Has it gone for good? Or is it coming back around? Isn’t it hard to make up your mind? When you’re losing and your fuse is fireside.”
Pedro takes a sip of his drink, while his eyes are glued to the screen. To him, it was a forbidden thought. Because he knows that the second he asks himself whether or not she misses him too would make him call her again. Maybe this song wasn't about him.
“And I thought I was yours forever, or maybe I was mistaken, but I just cannot manage to make it through the day without thinking of you lately.”
The actor turns around and empties the glass in one sip, he can feel how his blood begins to boil. How the fuck could she do that to him? He was starting to move on, he was finally feeling better about the whole situation and now he was once again trapped in this fucking state of confusion. "I'm good.", he mumbled before he snatches the half-empty bottle of red wine off the counter. He fills the glass up again:" Fuck this."
Pedro hears cheering coming from the TV and he shuts his eyes for a second. It's almost like some sort of old injury is being cut open again. "I told you they're really great! I have to see them live!"
"Pedro.", he feels Sarah's hand on his back, as she brings the glass up to his lips. He swallows it like a shot of tequila- abruptly and without worrying about the aftermaths. "I'm fine.", he says before he puts the glass back on the table, he runs a hand down his face as he senses the influence of the alcohol. Pedro walks past her towards the front door, where he grabs his jacket. "I really don't think you-." "I'm fine!", he interrupts her, angrier than he intended to: "I'm sorry."
The world around him proceeds to get more blurry while he wanders through the city. "W-Where is my-?", he mutters as he begins to search his pockets for his phone. When he ultimately finds it, he lets out a soft sigh.
"Hey, Y/N!", he loudly speaks into the microphone:" I just- just saw yo- is this your fucking voicemail? Again?! Can't pick up after all that time? Even- Even after writing another fucking song- song about me? Fuck. I was starting to feel better and now- now you ruined that. Fucking ruined it.", he stops walking as hot tears emerge in his brown eyes:"Fucking-."
"Have I ever told you, that you have really pretty eyes?", Y/N expressed, as she pulled him closer. He felt goosebumps appear on his skin, while she followed his jawline with her index finger, before placing a delicate kiss under his chin:" You are so pretty."
"I loved you, too, by the way.", he says after a few seconds:" I mean, you never gave me enough time to answe- a lot actually, fuck, I loved you a lot. And I think I still do, fuck.", he presses the red button on his screen and lowers his arm :” Fuck.”

Falling For U- John B
Tumblr media
Request: hi! Can u do an imagine based on Falling for U by Peachy! And Mxmtoon with prompts 8, 10, and 19? Tysm!!!
Summary: based on Falling For U by Peachy! And Mxmtoon
Word count: 2,371
Prompts:
8. "You make me feel safe."
10. "You've always felt like home."
19. "I just want this. I want you."
I was hangin' with you and then I realized. I didn't think it was true, I was surprised, when I found out I've fallen for you.
John B had invited you over for a private surf lesson after you had told him you've never been. You had just moved to the Outer Banks last year, only recently meeting the Pogue and the rest of his friends. From the moment you met him you were drawn to him. Not for his attractive looks, but for his personality.
You had just met him, but he was always right by your side and ready to help you out through anything you were going through. He had a heart of gold and you adored the boy for that.
You first practiced your movements in the sand, rowing your arms front and back as if you were paddling to a wave. "And… jump up!" John B instructed. He stood by the side of the board, ready to catch you if you slipped. You lifted yourself up and jumped into position, John B's hand holding yours to help you catch your balance.
"Nicely done Y/L/N. Now let's see if you can actually do it in the water." JB led you to the waves, guiding you on how far to go out. He scanned the waves trying to find one for you. He pointed his index finger to an incoming wave as it slowly began to rise, you looked at him with a look of fear."You got this. I'll be right here to help you out." He reassured you.
You exhaled, "if I drown it's your fault." He sent you a sly grin before saying, "don't worry I know CPR." You jokingly rolled your eyes while ignoring the butterflies you got in your stomach. You faced the wave as you paddled towards it, a tint of pink covered your cheeks as John B whooped and cheered from behind you. "And… jump!" You immediately popped up into position, almost surfing the whole wave before falling into the water.
You popped your head back above water to John B paddling towards you with your board next to him. "You okay?" He asked, pulling you back up onto your board. You wiped the water off of your face before nodding, getting ready to paddle again to a slightly larger wave. "Y/n/n you don't have to surf today, this was just supposed to be a practice." He reminded you. You were absolutely determined to get this. "I got this." You winked at him before paddling to the wave.
JB let you take this one, watching you jump up into position in time. "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!" You laughed as you skimmed through the wave. John B applauded you as the wave died down revealing pure shock on your face. "And the Pogue princess has done it ladies and gentlemen!" He yelled into his cupped hands as you made it to shore.
You waited for him to get to you before jumping into his arms. You wrapped yours around his neck as he held you by the waist, spinning you around in glee. "You fucking did it! Holy shit!" He grinned as he put you down. You jumped up and down in excitement. "I know! JJ better watch his back I'm coming up to him." You mumbled, earning a chuckle from him.
"I believe this calls for a celebratory drink." JB held his hand out for you to grab, you gave him a weary look. His glance dropped to his extended hand, his fingers slightly wiggling. You giggled quietly before intertwining your hands together. This time the butterflies were stronger than ever. You slowly pieced together that you were developing feelings for your best friend, which you were not ready to admit.
I didn't wanna believe my feelings for you. I didn't wanna believe that I could lose you if I told you just how I felt.
"I'm really scared Kie." You admitted, clutching onto one of her pillows on her bed. She sat in front of you and held both of your shoulders, "don't be Y/N! John B won't be phased if he finds out you like him. Plus even if he knows that's not gonna change anything." "That's not what JJ told me." Kie furrowed her eyebrows at you before remembering past events.
JJ told you about the time John B dated a close friend of 5 years for a while but once they broke up they never spoke again. You refused to tell John B how you felt because you were terrified of rejection. You were terrified of him not feeling the same way, or pitying you for not feeling the same way. Then things become awkward and the whole friendship is ruined.
"That was years ago! He's matured a lot now and from the way he looks at you I'm guessing he feels the same as you." You buried your face into the pillow and groaned into the cushion. "Don't do that. Don't give me that." You sighed, clutching onto the pillow. "Don't give you what?" She asked. "Don't give me hope." Kie reassuringly rubbed your back, "It'll all fall into place soon hun, just try to give it time."
"Dude when you see her your face turns pink. You're all like, "oh Y/N! Let me show you what true love is!" JJ exaggerated, putting his hand on his forehead before dramatically flipping his hair. "Shut up man." John B grumbled from behind the steering wheel.
"Honestly dude I don't know what's got you so afraid. Just tell her and don't be a pussy." JJ said to him. "Okay well what if I tell her and she's like, 'what the fuck I just became friends with this dude.' And she like, never talks to me again. What happens then?"
JJ rolled his eyes at his over dramatic friend, "JB I love you, you know this but either man up and tell her or watch her fall in love with someone else. Your choice man." John B slouched in his seat, realizing his friend had a point.
But I can't help it, I'm falling for you. And I can't quit it 'cause I'm stuck on you.
John B covered your eyes with his hands as he led you into the backyard. Today was your birthday and while the rest of the Pogues took you out for dinner, John b stayed at his house to set up his backyard with festive lights and decorations. He remembered the first time you met him, you had gone on and on about how you wanted to go to a paper lantern festival. Since there were none at the time, he managed to find a lantern to give to you. He had set up the hammocks with a soft blanket and comfortable pillows. He saved up to buy cute fairy lights girls used to decorate their rooms.
"And… surprise!" JB uncovered your eyes and watched your face contort into pure joy. "John B…" you trailed off, getting teary eyed. "Is it too cliche? Damn it I shouldn't have listened to Kie." He muttered under his breath. You quickly turned to him and hugged him, shaking your head. "No, no it's beautiful." He held you in his arms before excusing himself.
He walked inside and returned with the lantern, a lighter, and a sharpie. You covered your mouth with your hands, watching him walk up to you with a dorky smile. "I know this isn't a festival, but it's the closest thing I could find." He handed you the marker allowing you to write whatever you want. This was your chance to slowly start to tell him how you feel.
You effortlessly wrote, 'JB+(your first and last initials)' you looked back up to him to see his smile even wider than before. "Is this okay?" He nodded his head, "it's perfect."  He held the other side of the lantern as you lit the bottom. "One, two, three." You two sent it off into the air, watching it slowly rise into the night sky.
John B wrapped his arms around your frame, resting his chin on your shoulder as you watched the lantern float above them. Your heart felt like it skipped beats constantly whenever he was near you. You got butterflies in your stomach whenever your name left his mouth. Everything you did with him just felt comfortable and safe.
And it might be pathetic and you might be skeptical but I just want to be with you.
You unknowingly cuddled yourself into John B's chest. You two were laying on the couch, you were fast asleep in his arms. He couldn't help but admire you as you slept. How your eyelashes just looked naturally long when they were shut. How every now and then your nose would twitch. Your eyes would sometimes flutter when you dreamed. Today was a day where you had a dream about John B.
He furrowed his eyebrows as a quiet, "John B." and a giggle escaped your lips. You were dreaming about you two traveling the world together after finding the gold. He took you everywhere you wanted to see, always looking at you when you were looking at the view.
John B didn't move for a minute, afraid that he would wake you. He watched as your nose twitched nestling your head onto his chest. He held you in his arms, his thumb gently rubbing up and down on your arm. Hesitating for a moment, he tipped his head down and kissed your forehead. He couldn't hold his smile back as you grinned at the feeling. Your mind was telling you that happened in the dream, but in reality John B was slowly realizing just how strong his feelings are for you.
Please tell me, boy can you get a clue? Or come through 'cause I just want to be with you.
"No, JJ you don't get it. I try to give him a hint that I like him but it just flies over his head." You vented, hitting your head on the steering wheel. JJ lifted your head up off the wheel and against the headrest. "Y/N, John B is the most oblivious person all of us know. If you want to tell him you like him, you have to just say it." He emphasized the 'have'.
You groaned and turned your head to him. "Can't you just do it for me?" You covered your face. "Sorry buttercup, it's better if it comes from you. I'll help keep Kie and Pope away from you guys but you have to be the one to tell him." You exhaled loudly, nodding your head.
I'm scared of telling you how I feel. Maybe it's better if I just try to conceal the truth. For me and for you. But I'm still stuck on you. I'm still falling for you, for you.
You paced in your room, waiting for John B to arrive at your house. Tonight was the night you were gonna admit how you felt about him. You stopped in your tracks as you heard a delicate tapping outside your window. Unlatching the lock, you let him step through the opening before closing it again.
He stood there as you paced back and forth again, making him sit down on the edge of the house bed. "Okay. Okay so, I have to say something and I just need you to wait until I'm done before you say anything." You instructed him, earning a nod as a response.
"I like you. I like you a lot and it genuinely scares me. To the point where I went to JJ for advice because I couldn't figure out what to do. I was scared because my brain just tells me there's no possible way you would like me back. That if I told you how I felt you would think it's weird or you would look at me differently and I don't want that, I don't want things to change in a bad way. But I wanted to say this because you just, you make me feel safe. You make me feel like I'm worth it. You give me these butterflies that leave the hair on my body standing up. I'm always with you because you've always felt like home. I could be skydiving with no parachute but I wouldn't care because as long as I'm with you, I'm happy. Okay, now I'm just rambling but that's it."
You stopped panting, biting your nails as John B sat there trying to process everything you said. He had a dumb smile on his face as he looked up at you. "What? What? Was that too much? Did I just mess everything between us up?" You panicked.
He stood up from his spot and walked towards you. You couldn't help but feel small and vulnerable as you slowly backed away from him. He cornered you against the wall, his breath fanning your lips. "You like me?" He quietly whispered, trying to make sure he heard that right before he made the next move.
"I really do." You mumbled, your chest heaving from your heart rate picking up. His hand raised up and cupped the side of your face. He watched as your eyes fluttered shut, melting into his touch. "I won't do anything until you tell me it's okay."
You opened your eyes to look at his brown ones. "Kiss me." You reassured him. He dipped his head down and connected your lips to his. He exhaled in relief as he was finally able to kiss you. Something he's been wanting to do for a while now. Now he was the one with butterflies. The pad of his thumb rubbed your cheek bone as you pulled away from him. "Do you want this?" You asked, pointing your finger between you two
"I'm falling for you, I've been falling for you. I just want this. I want you." He whispered, pushing a stray piece of hair out of your face. Your face turned a light pink as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.

Spilt Coffee || Yutaro Kindaichi ||
Tumblr media
A/N: I basically just made my first post and i’m already writing my first fanfic for my page lol. Not to plus, Kindaichi is a very overlooked character sadly when he gives yo so much to work with
Summary: Cliche reuniting with an old friend and figuring out your feelings
warnings: cursing, fluff?
notes: sorry this isn't my best work and its kinda short too but i hope you can still enjoy
~~~
Soulmate Au -  A touch from your soulmate will leave an imprint there (like a different colored area on your skin, or a symbol, or name)
~~~
Leaning against the cool steel bar welded to the stands’ edge, sweaty palms and curled tighter around the metal as peering eyes watched the volleyball game being played out in front of Y/N. The feeling of worry and dread set in deeper as they saw Kitagawa Daiichi’s scores fall even further behind their opponent. Gnawing down on their lip, Y/N witnessed Kageyama Tobio snap once again at his team mate, noticing the pressure and tension getting worse between the 3rd year middle students.
It was cutting closer and closer, catching up to the opposing team at this point was wishful thinking but there was still hope. Maybe they cold settle and work together? maybe the other team was just on a lucky streak. That had to be it. There was no way they wold...lose.
The ball hit the ground in what seemed slow motion, color completely draining from Kageyama’s face as his set was met with no one. Kindaichi’s hard worked and red hands not meeting. The second set was done and the game was over for Kitagawa Daiichi.
Witnessing first hand as to why Kageyama had become so bitter and desperate, seeing how he had pushed his team too far and knowing the team was done for good.
Maybe it was for the best.
Only a year or so had passed, and now that game was jst memory in the back of most minds. Spring had come and It was a fresh start at all new schools, most going their separate ways. Hell, at this point most were focusing on finding their soulmates, the teenage dream. Just waiting for that one special touch to light up a piece of you like an alarm, fate tangling two together. Though to Y/N, it seemed a bit pointless, it was their choice who they loved and spent the rest of their life with. Wasn’t it?
Humming a soft the, the recent Aobajohsai student strolled through the gates and through the adolescent crowd whilst keeping to themselves as one would. Knowing they had some time before classes started, Y/N walked away from the main building and more so towards the gym and field by it. Holding the warm cardboard cup in their hand, eyes wondered around the landscape just as they were passing the decently sized gym. Right as they passed the sliding doors, the familiar sound of sneakers squeaking against polished floors and the calls for a ball. cranking their head back before slowly taking one large step at a time before they stood in front of the wide open doors.
Volleyball.
“Yeahhhhh... Nah, fuck that,” Y/N dragged as they shrugged their shoulders and just as they were about to walk off, mind their own business and ignore the hot sweaty guys inside, the sound of jst one pair of runners got closer.
Taking one step forward before sudden a figure came tumbling out, his back to Y/N as he stumbling. Just as the 6′2 athlete, if you could even call him that, Y/N’s prince charming skills kicked in and caught the black hair male as they were just about to hit the ground and potentially wind himself. Gentler hands caught the sweaty guy’s arms and his back crashed back into Y/N”s chest with an audible thud. Groaning just a bit, Y/N pushed the guy back up to his feet and made sure he was stable.
“Jeez... for a volleyball player you're heavy, you better hope that weight is just muscle, bean stalk,” Y/N commented and pouted as they noticed their precious caffeine had been spilt due to saving the clumsy dude.
Just as they were morning their dearest drink, the male turned and cocked an eyebrow. Lifting their head, Y/N stiffened a bit before covering their moth.
“Pfft- Yutaro? still playing volleyball, you turnip head?” Y/N teased and Kindaichi rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.
“Yeah, ha ha. And yore still going with the whole turnip head thing?” he whined and hung his head before Y/N carefully patted his arms.
Just as they were about to speak up, Yutaro lifted his head and suddenly the world went like... Whoa. And when i saw whoa, i mean like whoa. Kindaichi and Y/N had never been the closest but they were friends, they went to his games and they ate together at lunch. Y/N had never really seen anything all that special about Yutaro but right as he lifted his head, it just hit them dead in the face. He was defiantly tall and all but just then Y/N had realized he had the build to match it. He had sch gently sun kissed skin, now coated in a thin layer of sweat, body heat radiating off him and the slight scent of his deodorant and cologne enveloped their senses. His stupid hair style for once.. kinda looked good. It was messy and with it pushed back, gave everyone a good look as his surprisingly amazing bone structure. like DAMN, that jawline and cheek bones though.
Quickly blinking and snapping their attention back to realizing, Kindaichi had noticed they had been staring. Of course but for some reason he had been doing the game thing. Raising their hands up quickly as a defensing position, Y/N flushed and shook their head.
“S-Sorry! i didn't mean to stare or anything...” they slowly trailed off Kindaichi raised his hands and carefully caught a hold of Y/N’s wrist before bringing them closer to his face, confusing Y/N greatly they noticed his facial expression.
His face was unsurprising stony but it was his eyes. his dark eyes was practically sparkling and it looked like fireworks were going off in his mind. He didn't really speak, almost like he was in shock, before turning their hands to face Y/N. They were both a mint shade of green, like they had dipped their hands into some paint. Now it was Y/N’s turn to go into shook.
“You...! Are we...!? Holy fuck...” They trailed off and Kindaichi laughed happily at their reaction before he struck a pose in joy giving Y/N a moment to catch a glimpse at the back of Yutaro’s arms.
Sighing softly, a small smile raised to Y/N’s lips and they gave a small chuckle before giving Kindaichi a small and quick embrace.
“Meet me at the Vending machine at lunch?” They hummed and Yutaro easily nodding, the two smiling like idiots.

Sunkissed - Chapter 1
description: Wedding of the century rolls around as the previous college clique, along with the rest of their family members, stay in preparation for it. During this time, Riley meets Lucas, a gorgeous, green-eyed wallflower who happens to be immediately taken by her. Little did she know, he has a deep secret. Sparkley Farkley: Did you know that the slowest marathon time ever is 54 years, eight months, six days, eight hours, 32 minutes, and 20.3 seconds? Yeah, in 1912, an Olympic marathoner from Japan supposedly disappeared during the middle of a race. Some say that he stopped to get a drink from an outdoor party, but ended up staying longer than he should have. Risque, if you ask me. Anyways, he was too embarrassed to finish the race, so he flew back to Japan instead. Years later, he decided to finish what he started by running the whole marathon himself. What I'm trying to say is WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? Riley, you're seriously taking much longer to get to the boardwalk than this Japanese marathon guy. Hurry!!
I looked at the horrifically long paragraph Farkle had sent me and sighed. Being best friends with him also meant being best friends with your very own encyclopedia, which can be extremely useful at times. Although, it really isn't when your phone is constantly being bombarded with numerous texts about everything and nothing.
Gentle reminder that I live farther from the beach than you do. I'll be there soon! Don't miss me too much :)
I quickly text back. I gripped onto my camera strap, which is draped over my shoulder, as I start quickening my pace.
When we became closer over the years, Farkle and I both created a tradition of spending almost every Saturday down at the boardwalk. In regards to this, the main rule that we've agreed upon would be that if one of us couldn't make it, we would have to have an extremely valid excuse. Me being the more "laid back" friend, I've been pretty lenient on Farkle if he couldn't make it. Wish I could say the same about him, though.
Last night, I had to stay up till two in the morning helping my mother out at the flower shop. Arranging flowers isn't as easy as one may think. In result, I woke up later than usual, causing me to be about 30 minutes late. So far, I've received a fact text from him for every minute I ran late. It truly amazes me how he could just drop these facts off the top of his head.
I'm practically already running when I see Farkle by the entrance, arms crossed.
"I'm sorry!" I pant. I take a second to breathe before I continue speaking. "I.. I woke.. Wow, I'm not cut out to be.. an athlete, huh?" I joke.
He rolls his eyes as a grin forms on his face. "Where were you?"
"I was up all night helping my mom with the flowers. I woke up super late. I'm so sorry."
He nods in approval of my excuse. "That's okay. However, I don't think we could go to the diner now. Brooklyn and her minions are there. Seated in our spots too!"
The thought of Brooklyn made me sick to my stomach. Brooklyn was the Regina George of Harbor High School, and basically all of Santa Cruz. Like your typical teen cliche, she was the popular girl who also the prettiest. Brooklyn also had her own entourage, as she always had two minions following her. With her bitchy personality, you may say that it's surprising that she gets all the guys. With her body, though, it really isn't. It's probably how she had my crush of four years and counting, Charlie Gardner, falling for her.
"Well, I guess we would have to postpone our meal then," I say, linking my arms with his. We enter the boardwalk and head straight for the arcade. We're surrounded by all the games you could never ever get tired of. From Dance Dance Revolution to laser tag to racing games, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Casino Arcade has you covered. Farkle and I have our common favorite, air hockey.
He let go of my arm, dashing straight to the air hockey table. "You ready to get your ass beat?"
He asks, slipping in a token. We love each other very much, but when it comes to air hockey, it's like we're two different people.
"You should be asking yourself that, Minkus." As air starts to shoot through the tiny holes from the table, we both grabbed our paddles. Suddenly, the puck falls through my pocket instead of Farkle's. "Well, that's a first! I guess I'm starting."
I hit the puck as hard as I can towards his goal. Hoping that this time my first hit would make it, he blocks the puck in a swift move and smiles. "Not today." This goes on for quite a bit. I concentrate on the puck as it glides across the table back and forth. That is, until a distraction came my way. Charlie.
I offer him a double take before actually realizing that it was him. He probably didn't even notice me, which was a good thing on my part. I didn't want him to know that I was here. Out of impulsive thinking, I ducked down to hide behind my side of the table. This wasn't really the best decision, though. Farkle managed to make a goal and yell on behalf of his victory. I don't even have to see what's happening to know that attention was surely brought towards us.
"Farkle!" I call out in a whisper. He walks around the table and takes a seat next to me.
"So, explain to me why we're hiding behind- "
"Riley!" Charlie exclaims. Mortified, I lift my head up to find him standing right in front of us.
"Hi, Charlie." I saw awkwardly. Thankfully, Farkle gets up off the ground and pulls me up, as I was too scared to even move.
Farkle clenches is jaw subtly enough that no one could notice, except for me. It's safe to say that he never liked Charlie. I don't blame him. Most of the time, he can be a total jackass.
I'm not too sure how or why I've liked him for so long, and still currently do. I like to think it's because of the fact that I'm always seeking the best in people. I don't necessarily like making assumptions out of people based on looks or first encounters. For Charlie, I realized how much of a good person he is, deep down, whilst working on a school project with him in the public library. My father, who so happened to be my teacher, assigned both of us as partners for a project that we had to turn in a matter of three days. Within those three days, we'd head to the library at night to work, but we were never productive. All we did was talk. Well, all Charlie did was talk. About himself, of course. I would just sit and listen. It was kind of odd not taking part in the conversation, but I mostly did not mind. As a matter of fact, I remember feeling like it was for the best since I would most likely say something stupid. Plus, I got to learn more about him and who he truly was. The downside of it was that I had to take our project home and finish it myself, but I thought that it was worth it. From that moment on, I couldn't help but keep thinking about him, about us.
Charlie extends his hand out to Farkle, expecting a shake, but he steps back. "I'll wait for you outside." He tells me. No, no. Please don't leave me alone with him.
"Well, that was awkward." He laughs. "But anyways, I am so glad I caught you. I was wondering if you're free like right now? I was hoping that you could help me out with something."
Crap. As much as I would love to help him, I promised Farke that I would spend the day with him. However, as I was looking up at Charlie's mesmerizing brown eyes, I seem to have ignored that fact. "Um, sure." I squeaked. I clear my throat and try again. "What would I be helping you with exactly?"
"You see, we're doing headshots in drama, and you're kind of known to be a really talented photographer," I blush as he says so.  Along with the fact that his words make me swoon, another thing about Charlie that I liked was the fact that he is a performing arts fanatic. I'm presuming that it's something that he would like to achieve in the future. He's actually really talented if I'm being honest.
"So, would it be alright if you got a couple of portrait shots of me by the beach?" Charlie asks.
"Maybe in return, I can buy you a milkshake afterward."
Farkle is so going to kill me after this.  "Er, okay."
"Great! C'mon, let's go." He starts heading towards the exit as I trail behind him. Hoping that he was the gentleman I thought he'd be, I expected him to open the door for me. Instead, he ends up leaving it to close behind him. I sigh, disappointed for getting ahead with my thoughts. Once I've exited the arcade, I immediately scan my surroundings in search for Farkle.
"I'm here." He calls out from behind me. I turn to find him leaning against a wall.
"You're going to hate me," I confess.
A smirk creeps up on his face. "Not gonna lie, I was already kind of assuming."
"You're not mad?"
"No," Farkle says softly. "I still hate that bastard, though. But I mean if you like him that much-"
I pull him into a hug. "Thank you," I whisper.
"Yeah, okay." He wraps his arms around my back and chuckles lightly.
"Riley?" Charlie yells.
I pull away from Farkle and adjust my outfit. This would technically be the first time I get to hang out with Charlie alone, so I obviously want to look presentable. However, that's clearly not the case since I'm currently in my maroon Harvard sweater that Farkle had actually bought me from when he visited last year, along with a pair of faded ripped jeans.
"Do I look okay?" I ask.
He holds two thumbs up. "Can't say no to a girl in Ivy League gear."
"I love you, and thanks a bunch!" I plant a quick kiss on his cheek before running towards Charlie.
Once I've caught up to him, we both head to the beach together.
I truly do love the beach. I love the ambiance of waves crashing against the shore, along with the wailing of seagulls as they soar across the sky. Not to mention, the smell of the ocean beach as well. Everything about the beach is so captivating and peaceful, especially since it's a little early and not a lot of people are here. The afternoon is the absolute worst time to visit the beach. The fact that there are so many people who usually come on a day to day basis, makes me a little anxious to go.
Charlie leads me to where the dock is located. Farkle and I would usually come to take pictures underneath the dock. This area is quite aesthetically pleasing.
"I think this is a great spot." He says, placing his bag down as I begin to adjust the settings of my camera. I let him know that I'm ready once everything's all set. Charlie then runs towards the shoreline and starts posing of a shot. Since I'll be capturing portrait shots, I made sure that my camera is set so all my photos can have a shallow depth of field. This way, Charlie will be in focus as the background will be a bit blurry. After taking a few photos here and there, I stop to look at them. Charlie was perfectly centered, the lighting was on point, and all shots have great composition. Perfect. I think to myself. However, Charlie apparently doesn't exactly think so when he sees them.
"Yeah, this situation just isn't working for me. Let's try something different." He looks around for a moment. "Here, why don't you get some bird-eye shots of me laying on the sand."
I was a little offended that he didn't like the photos I originally took. I spoke out, irritated. "I thought we were taking portraits?"
"I'm just trying to think outside of the box here, Riles. Maybe the photos will turn out better." I scoff at what he had just said. What difference does it make? You're just going to be lying down. And I thought all headshots were portraits. There he goes acting like a douche, but here I am, still taking interest in him.
Charlie lies down on the sand and places his hand behind his head. From the looks of it, he could pass for a Hollister or Abercombie & Fitch model.  I stand directly on top of him to get good shots. If I'm being honest, this isn't the ideal position I'd want to be in. It's a little uncomfortable and weird, really.
Suddenly, water hits the shore and Charlie attempts to save his khaki pants by jerking straight up. Instead, jerking straight up somehow caused me to tumble forward, allowing both of us to fall back down. I also end up dropping my camera on the sand. Water continues to run beneath Charlie, which caused his whole outfit to be soaked. "Shit!"
The water still kept going around us. I panic as I watch it slowly ooze towards my camera. Miraculously, the water stopped before it could reach it. I graciously let out a sigh of relief. "Will you get the fuck off of me now?!" He yells in annoyance. I flinched when he does so and realize that what was happening: I was on top of Charlie Gardener. Because I was on top of him, I didn't get hit by the water at all. I quickly scurried to my feet and grabbed my camera.  I turned to Charlie, who was still really angry that he was drenched. He got up from the ground and gathered his stuff. "Thanks to you," He snaps. "I am soaking wet, and I have rehearsals for the musical after this!"
I feel a familiar tightness gripping my throat. As Charlie continues to curse at me, a burning heat rushes through my body and I can hardly breathe. The DJ over by the boardwalk starts blasting music that seems to be ten times louder than usual. My surroundings then become too horrifically bright. My hands become clammy as I start to lose control of my body. My vision starts to get blurry and my heartbeat begins to speed up to the point where I could hear it.
Once Charlie finishes grabbing his stuff, he walks over to me. He stops and takes a deep breath. "Just email me the photos whenever you can." And with that, he walks away. When I've lost sight of him, I walk towards the pebbles near the ocean. I stare out to sea, trying to take big breaths. I stay until I've finally coaxed my heartbeat back to normal.

MASTERLIST
Park Jimin was the worst man you ever had the displeasure of knowing. He was cold, rude, arrogant, indifferent to everyone around him. He never cared for anyone but himself. He trampled over people, used them for his own means and discarded them like waste. Everyone loved him, except for you which is why you sometimes wondered whether he seeked you out on purpose. It was a very sick and twisted game the both of you played, but neither of you ever wanted to stop.
“I think you two like each other in a twisted way” Taehyung your best friend would tell you, earning a scoff which was followed by a glare, every single time he uttered the words. No one ever made you feel as frustrated and angry as he did. “You’re wrong. He has it out for me for whatever reason. He doesnt like me” you would state as a matter of factly in turn earning a laugh of disbelief from Taehyung.
Not to mention Jimin was the biggest fuck boy you knew. Not only did he have zero respect for others, he didn’t even respect himself enough to set himself to a good standard because he would fuck anything that had two legs and a vagina.
You really hated him.
He never let any opportunity to mess up your life go amiss. Whether it was purposely making you late for class, or butting his nose in your romantic endeavours and driving your partners away.
“I am the only guy for you y/n” he had told you the time when he had driven away your dumb ex boyfriend by making it look like you had cheated on him. “ Love it or hate it because you are stuck with me princess” After a while you had given up on relationships because Jimin always ensured it didn’t last past one week.
“Thinking about me?” You were startled out of your thoughts as Jimin’s voice rang through your ears. He occupied the seat next to you and you had to stop yourself from retching because the pungent smell of smoke mixed with the cheap beer invaded your nostrils. “Aww was wittle baby missing me? Does precious little Jiminie need an ass kicking” your voice dripped with sarcasm.
Jimin only laughed in response. “ You really do like playing with fire don’t you?” he spoke close to your ear the smell of alcohol making you taste bile in the back of your throat. The next thing you knew, water was dripping from your head and Jimin was laughing as if that was the funniest thing he had ever seen. “ Cool off” he then threw the plastic bottle in your lap and exited out of the bus. You stepped out after him, a scowl making its way onto your face. You wanted to throw the same bottle at the back of his head and you did raise it above your head, but thought better of it, seeing as his best friend Jeongguk had fallen in step beside him. And boy did you want to avoid Jeongguk. If Jimin was trouble, Jeongguk was worse. It would be like inviting a headache for yourself.
The stench of alcohol still lingered in your nostrils. Who drank before coming to college? No one but Park Jimin. You failed to understand why he was so popular despite being the most loathsome human being the history of humanity.
“What the hell happened to you?” your best friend Taehyung jogged next to you and put an arm around your shoulder. “Okay hold on, by the look on your face I can only guess its one thing, rather one person” he paused for effect. You deadpanned in his direction, forcing the both of you to stop in your tracks. “It was Jimin wasn’t it?” he raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips.
“Well no shit Sherlock it was Jimin. Who else could it possibly be?” you huffed in anger before resuming your walk towards the college once more.
Taehyung turned to look at your profile while you gazed straight ahead. He felt bad for you because you had never done anything to anyone, yet Park Jimin felt like he could treat you that way. Taehyung had, on multiple occasions offered to beat up Jimin for you, just to teach him a lesson but you had blatantly refused because you didnt want him getting hurt.
“I know Jimin. I mean I did know him so I can kick his ass you know?” he would tell you, alluding to their now broken friendship. Jimin and Taehyung had been inseparable during your first year of college. They were always joined at the hip and were seen sharing laughs, and jokes with each other. But then Jimin changed and well Taehyung found a friend in you.
“Okay how about this? Lets go to Yoongi’s party tonight” Taehyung suggested to which you shook your head because Jimin would be there. Yoongi was the only person in his previous friend circle that Taehyung kept in contact with. Yoongi was decent enough because he never helped Jimin in making your life hell, but neither did he ever object. So you felt neutral about him.
The cliched vibes you got from the whole situation irked you too much, which was another reason you wished to avoid the party. Because if this was anything like those movies you saw, the countless stories you read you knew you were in for  some kind of trouble. Thats how it always ended at these parties.
“Jimin is going to be there. Go figure genius” your index finger landed in the centre of his forehead as you pushed him away. “ I am going to be there too you know” he got a hold of your finger and lifted it off his forehead.
“Nope. This is not happeneing. No way and dont you dare Kim Taehyung. Do not give me that puppy face” you announced and didnt linger around long enough to give him the chance to pull that pitiful face on you. It always got you. So with a defeated sigh Taehyung followed your lead, wheels turning in his head to figure out a way to make you go. He wasn’t going to give up that easy.
*****************************************************************************************************
You had been glaring at Taehyung since you had entered Yoongi’s gigantic house. “ You tricked me” you spat out and narrowed your eyes at him. “ You’re having fun though” he sheepishly replied trying to avoid your eyes as he sipped his drink.
Taehyung had lied to you and said he was going to take you out for a movie to cheer you up. You had complied because what harm could a movie do? But a 30 minute ride later you found yourself in front of a house, the lawn of which was littered with beer cups and puke , and the sound of some faint EDM was drifting into the surroundings. Before you had the chance to object Taehyung’s hand enclosed around your wrist and he was dragging you, quite literally behind himself towards the party.
Fun my ass.
Just as you had assumed Park Jimin was also there and so was Jeon Jeongguk. You avoided them the minute you entered. You forced Taehyung to find a secluded corner and got a promise out of him that he would not leave your side for even a second.
Although you were thankful for his presence and it did diminish some of the awkwardness , a pair of eyes on you was making you feel very uneasy and as you glanced in the direction for the briefest of seconds you saw Jimin staring at you.
Opting to not let your eyes linger you looked away just as quickly and took a sip of the bitter liquid in the cup forgetting that it was beer. Coughing in distaste you physically held the cup away from your body. Glancing at Jimin again you saw that he was watching you with an amused expression and it was the sort of look that indicated he had seen your struggle with the drink.
For whatever reason you felt embarrassed at the thought of him witnessing your intolerance for alcohol. It sort of felt like he was silently laughing at you, which made you feel embarrassed but also angry. You could imagine his train of thoughts running along the lines of you pretending to be tough and cool when really you were just a goody two shoes. You really couldn’t give him a legitimate reason to further demean you.
Even though you had no way of knowing thats what he was thinking, you wouldnt be surprised to find out that it was exactly what he was thinking. Taking his smirk as an unspoken challenge you downed the drink in one breath.
The sounds of your coughing and wheezing made Taehyung’s head turn in your direction as he immediately put his cup away and stroked your back as you coughed. The aftertaste was bitter and you felt as if you had consumed ethanol. Your throat felt like it was closing and you were swallowing way too hard in order to wash the taste down your throat.
You felt the sour acid pooling in your mouth indicating you were about to vomit. Reminding yourself that Jimin was in the same room as you, and barfing in the same was not an option, in breaking gasps you excused yourself to the bathroom.
Making your way through the sea of sweaty bodies and the stench of smoke mixed with alcohol you quickly located the washroom. The smell really wasn’t helping the buildup of acid in your mouth and it was only aggravating the urge to puke.
“Going somewhere?” You heard Jimin’s voice distantly ringing in your ears. As you looked up you found him looking down at you with the same stupid arrogant smile.
“ Get the fuck out of my way” you sighed as you felt the contents of your stomach bubbling up towards your chest.
“And if I dont?” he stepped towards you, and you couldn’t help but think of the consequences. It might just soak his shirt if he didnt let you go into the washroom. You were trying your best to hold it in but you couldn’t really control your body’s physiological reactions.
“You thick headed idio-” you tried saying but he interrupted you again. He really was an idiot wasn’t he?
You gagged and yet Jimin failed to see that you were about to let out the contents of your stomach and he would be in the line of fire.
“ Oh come on. Stay for a while. You’re not just going to-” and then it happened. If only Jimin was bestowed with the ability to process things happening in front of him and pick up on cues this wouldnt have happened.
“Oh shit” he jumped away from you. His face contorted in disgust and he groaned in anger.
“I told you to move away” you responded. You could hear people around you retching and you had never felt so embarrassed in your entire life.
“You fucking idiot” Jimin moved towards you but he was pulled back by jeongguk. For once you were thankful for Jeongguk and for a moment you didnt hate him as much.
“You should have moved when she was heaving dude” Jeongguk took his hands off Jimin’s shoulder an expression of slight disgust painting his features.
Taehyung pushed his way through the crowd that had gathered around the two of you and visibly shivered in disgust at the sight in front of him. “Lets get you home” he put his arm around your shoulders. While making your way out several comments made their way to your ears most of which revolved around how Jimin was going to make you pay for it. Some of Jimin’s fangirl’s were glaring at you as if they would pounce on you any second and kill you.
You wouldn’t mind dying at this second because it was the most embarrassing situation you had ever found yourself in.To make things even worse you had given Park Jimin a legitimate reason to hate you even more.
You were going to kill Taehyung for putting you into this mess.
