I haven't seen any blogs for this AU yet so... I guess this one is gonna be the first :b Cuz why not lol

🧼 He actually can talk, but he just rarely talks, he usually growls most of the time.

🧼 Still incredibly likes eating soap (literally addicted to it-)

🧼 After being reduced to a such state, he of course become much more aggressive and feral, he can even be aggressive towards his friends if he's in a very bad mood. But he actually still cares for them, even though it's not visible.

🧼 Despite being immobilized by the black bands, he won't hesitate to stand up for himself if someone is irritating him (he can easily use his sharp teeth, so be careful-)

🧼 He starts to growling if someone he doesn't trust to is approaching him, this is his warning sign. And if the person he doesn't trust to won't back up, he'll attack them.

🧼 He hates the scientists the most.

🧼 Of course still simps for ∆lice-

🧼 He's the only one who Science AU!∆lice being softened up to.

🧼 If you try to steal his soap you're dead- /j

I've had 5 outdoors cats, not once has anything happened to them in my safe suburban environment where I have a 1800 square metre garden (dgaf what that is in your bs imperial system, learn to use proper measurements). they've all lived 15+ years which is way more than the average life span of their species and have died of natural causes. they've caught a rat or two, what a travesty and an abomination for continuing the proud ancient tradition of pest control! we don't have any of the predators you yanks have listed in urban areas and unlike you, we have a working public transportation system so our suburbs aren't as car-infested and speeding isn't allowed. although if you train your cat to be an outdoor cat they are intelligent enough to stay away from cars and the middle of roads. cats are extremely curious, playful and independent animals who need the stimulation of roaming around, scenting etc that only the outdoors can to offer. some of my friends have indoor cats (and I don't attack them for it like a lunatic btw) because they don't have a safe private garden. none of them have lived as long as my cats though, maybe because their entire life consists of sleeping and hiding from children/ dogs high up in a cat tower and eating. what a depressing existence. if fact I have several fellow cat lover friends who refuse to adopt a cat rn because they live in a flat and say it would be inhumane to force a cat to live there as they would be unhappy and depressed. I risk a shorter life too by leaving my house every day yet I'd rather go tomorrow than spend my entire life between four walls in captivity. so you may as well suggest it's also too dangerous for people to go out without a leash but I guess you freaks have already normalized mentally ill gooners identifying as pupself and going out in a fursuit so one can’t expect any respect for anything natural from your deranged utterly fucked country to begin with.

Everything you said about the Sonic movies is true and you're so real for it. I remember getting to that one part in the Knuckles show and turning it off right after because... what the hell LMFAO??

And like, I'm sure we all expect Sonic and his friends to not be 100% themselves in the movies, and I know he's supposed to be more of a kid, but them removing the core part of anti-authority is just... boring. Where is the sauce. Where is the Sonic?!

That's a part I like about your comic so far btw. Like, yes, G.U.N. SEEMED "friendly" at first, but secretly having inhibitor cuffs ready for Shadow? How these G.U.N. soldiers arresting them are totally okay with insulting him, and likely represent many more in the organization? Chef's kiss. Amazing work. BRAVO! So much shared with so little effort. I think what you said at the end, "thank you for speaking up about the problematic aspects of the filmverse because its hard to find sometimes," is pretty sad. It makes me sad to think about the reasons why that might be besides general fandom nonsense.

I think that, because of that era older Sonic fans have been through in which there were a ton of youtubers and game journalists and stuff dumping a buncha bad faith criticisms into the internet about Sonic and influencing Sega/Sonic Team to change Sonic for THEIR sake, we've kinda collectively become this terrified, shaking little dog when it comes to actual GENUINE criticism regarding anything to do with this series. The Sonic fandom, from what I've seen since being here (2003) has this slight toxic positivity aspect to it. Slight.

This is pretty apparent when it comes to the Sonic movies, which are okay at best, but if anyone says this then a bunch of people are going to come marching into your inbox or comments making up a bunch of excuses as to why it's actually totally fine that there's no fleshed out women in three movies and a tv show. As one person once said to me: "Enjoy the boys and stop complaining about the girls"

Stop complaining? We complain all the time about games, why do the movies get a pass?

I hope you realize I call S The Boy with my very own & personal brand of sarcastic (but deep) tenderness. Slam!

Grian bit back a cry of pain as he was thrown into one of the metal boxes on the roof, the sharp vents cutting into his skin. He scrambled to his feet just in time to avoid a crushing sweep of King's axe, ducking beneath it and rolling to the side. He only had a second to react before Spark was charging him, his speed too much for Grian to counter. He barely managed to beat his wings hard enough to skip over him, watching as he skidded to a halt and turned to face him again.

Grian flinched as he landed hard on his feet, lacking any sort of power to lighten the blow. He was so stupid, why couldn't he have stolen a useful power like teleportation? Instead he was stuck with shapeshifting, which would normally be very handy but provided him no help when he was already engaged in combat.

"Mimic, stand down." Spark said calmly, but Grian could see his hand tightening on the scythe in his hand.

"You're going to kill me." He replied, voice shifted away from its normal tone. He couldn't let them hear what his voice normally sounded like. Not if he wanted to keep his day job.

"Not if you stand down." King said from behind him and he cursed. He was blocked in now. Blocked in and injured.

Grian let out a bark of laughter. "Right. Because you're going to be so kind to me when you arrest me."

He heard a whoosh from behind him, barely giving him enough time to drop to the ground as King's axe passed over his head. Spark darted forward, and for a moment Grian thought that was it. But he wasn't about to go down that easily. He hurled himself to the side again, Spark's scythe grazing his shins, and then immediately crashed into a third hero that he hadn't seen. They must have only just arrived.

It was Chromia, Grian recognized him as he jumped away, nimbly skipping across the ground. Of course it was Chromia. The heroes either wanted him dead or incapacitated, Chromia had the potions to do it. He didn't have time to dwell on that though as King barreled into him, knocking him to the ground. He failed to hold back the pained oof that left him as the wind was knocked out of him, and as King pinned him to the ground, he struggled to regain his breath, sucking in shallow inhales.

"Good job." Chromia hummed, crouching down next to them. "I told you surrounding them would work."

"Yeah, yeah, you were right." King drawled. "Come on, give them the potion so we can drag them to the Tower."

Grian increased in his struggling, desperately trying to work his way out of King's grasp. He couldn't go back to the Tower, he couldn't, he wouldn't let them take him back. He hissed as the slices in his back twisted with his thrashing, then yelped as King laid a flat hand on his spine, pressing him down.

"Are they hurt?" Spark asked as Grian felt a hand grab for his chin. He snapped his teeth at it and it only just managed to pull back in time to avoid his abnormally sharp canines.

"Probably, they took a good few hits back there." King answered.

A hand forced Grian's head up by his hair, tangling in the locks that he had purposefully made dark instead of his normal shade. Something pressed to his lips, something cool and smooth, and Grian immediately clamped his mouth as tightly shut as he could.

"Bottom's up." Chromia instructed, and a hand pinched his nose shut, keeping him from breathing. Grian quickly forced a pair of gills to form on his neck, silently praising his stolen shapeshifting ability now. Quickly, he composed an escape plan in the few extra seconds he had as the gills did their best to breathe even though they weren't underwater. Then he opened his mouth and let the potion slide down his throat.

"There we go." Chromia released his nose and the bottle was removed from his lips. He had only taken in a sip, but already he could feel a weight settling over his mind, slowing his thoughts and movements. Nausea curled in his stomach and he shivered as chills ran up and down his spine. He didn't have much time to act.

"Hard part's over now." Spark declared, and Grian stumbled as he was hauled to his feet. The world felt like it was spinning around him, making him far dizzier than he should be. "Now we just need to get them back to the Tower."

"Just to be safe, we should slap a suppressor on them. It'll also keep them from changing their face on us." King suggested. A moment later, something clamped around his wrist and Grian took a shaking breath as he felt his power drain from him. But what it also did was lessen the effect of the potion for a brief few seconds.

He snapped his wings open, knocking the heroes off of him, then ran blindly to the edge of the building. By the time Spark reacted, he had already flung himself off of the roof. Spark managed to grab his ankle, holding him fixed in one place for only a moment before Grian managed to break free and rocket off into the sky. He was only in the air for a few seconds before the haze settled back over his mind, but it was long enough for him to slip into the density of the city, sliding through the alleyways and narrow streets and descending deeper and deeper through the layers stacked atop each other.

As he stumbled along the ground deep within the city, he could feel the shapeshifting melting out of his hair and wings and face, and he was so grateful that he had thought of the mask concealing his eyes and nose. He would need to invest in something covering his mouth so that he wouldn't drink any more of Chromia's disgusting potions. Pain radiated through him as the potion targeted his wounds, shutting down his functions more and more as he tried to keep moving.

He didn't know where to go. His apartment was too far away, he would never make it. He didn't have any friends who knew about his villainy, no family he could crash. He was alone.

Unless….

No. He had said no. Convex was too unstable, too much of a gamble. He couldn't risk it. Sure, they protected villains and vigilantes, and sure, they said they wouldn't charge them or expect anything from them in return, but he couldn't trust them. Evoker was a threat, Warden was a threat, and their little organization was definitely a threat.

Although, that was mostly the hero side of his brain talking, still in high alert from the last time he had taken on Evoker while wearing the title Cuteguy. Evoker had always been friendly to him when he was Mimic. Maybe he would be fine?

He didn't really have a choice in this anymore. He could feel Chromia's potion beginning to overpower him. He probably only had about five minutes left of consciousness, which would probably be enough to get him to one of Convex's many outposts. It would be better than passing out in one of the alleyways for anyone to find him.

He let out a low groan, then limped forward in the direction of one of the outposts he had seen when patrolling as Mimic earlier in the day. It didn't take him long to reach it, the faint blue symbol painted lightly on the side of the door of a small, rundown looking home. He shoved the door open, stumbling inside, then closed the door behind him. Once he was inside, he staggered to the living room, where a small, ancient looking TV sat on the floor with a cracked screen. He knelt in front of it, switching it on with a shaking finger, and after second, a quiet voice recording emerged from the speakers.

"Your distress signal has been received. Someone will be there shortly to assist you."

Grian let out a sigh of relief, then collapsed fully onto the floor. He didn't have the strength to keep himself up anymore. He hoped whoever came for him didn't unmask him. Evoker had sworn up and down that privacy was of the upmost importance to Convex and that if he ever needed them, his identity would remain secure, but Evoker was also a villain, and while villains tended to have a little bit more morality than even the heroes, Grian still couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Oh well. It was too late now. He was out of time. Chromia's potion had taken its full toll on him, and he couldn't stay awake any longer. He passed out on the floor in front of the TV, praying to the void that he wasn't making a huge mistake.

What's the point of your whole plot here? You invite the boy in to observe your garden under the pretense of a white flag, and then take over his blog? Your actions seem quite arbitrary and, dare I say, human.

You know, an observation from a non-human friend of mine is that the "meat beings" currently infesting this planet rarely operate as individuals. Like a fungi colony, what you do to one can have effects that reach throughout their entire social system, which will react accordingly.

All right, so uh.

First, you guys are ride or die, and I appreciate that. Threatening a rogue via my inbox where they're gonna see it? That takes guts, and I do have shooters out there.

However, there's more to this situation than what it looked like, so lemme explain.

As you all saw, I went to her place on her terms, and I brought some derivative toxin kinda like the worst pepper spray that I boiled down from leftover meds I "found". Bad for people, plants won't care, all that goodness. She offered me an inoculation like she gave Ms Harleen: immunity from plant toxins and all kinds, never will I threaten an orchid with the sniffles again during hay fever season. Won't even have to wear a mask and goggles. Of course, I said yes. What I didn't account for is that uh...when people get vaccinated, they can get a dizzy spell from all the shit they just injected, and this one was hefty to say the least...so, I got dizzy, laid down, and took a nap for 10 hours until she woke me up at sundown and told me to go home.

What I came back to was a buncha missed calls, texts, and some rude fuckin' comments that came tricklin' in while I was getting over it over the weekend. (Some of you oughta be ashamed of what you said to her. I'm not posting that shit, so if the misogynist shoe fits, choke on it. ) Do I love that I got frisked? No. But here's the thing: I understand why she did it. I would have too: there's some trust here between us, don't get me wrong, but we're still rogues. We have some mutual respect because we both know we can ruin each other if we decide to, and the crux of it is that we continually choose not to. Make of that what you will.

All that to say...have a little more respect, huh?

I really like how Party of your Lifetime is not only just an Evil boyband song, it kinda sounds like the type you'd find as the theme for a TV show's siren boyband-themed Halloween special, particularly during a face-off/darkest hour segment. Subday truther, subday truther... subday truther... I saw this in my inbox and locked in immediately... you, anon, have shown us all the truth once again and opened up a cesspit that I didn't quite want to pry into in my other response.

Idk if you write or create stories or other media, but you hit the nail on the head about wish fulfillment - a lot of rofan authors project the sort of relationships they find ideal in their work, which often leads to some very unclassy hints (and sometimes blatant flags) of classism and this really niche sort of elitism within their stories. Male lead = rich, far too rich for his own good, second male lead = typically a knight, childhood friend, etc. Cool, whatever, author may be projecting a need for financial security in a serious relationship and I get that, especially since the ml generally splurges on the lead with whatever wealth they have.

But then things get more interesting when you look at the main character, and even more complex if they're a transmigrator/reincarnator. You'll see some business tendencies, especially in villainess manhwas. Some novel idea that nobody else in this world has come up with - and they rake in the money, buying into a capitalist dream after dying in a world that likewise made them suffer due to that same dream. It's frighteningly consistent - nobles becoming more progressive by the introduction of the business class, but at the end of the day it's that same dirty cash. Idk if I'm being clear with this but what I'm trying to say is that the mc often buys into this goal and it takes up an unnecessary amount of plot.

And then you look at the constructed world itself. Absolutely, it's easier to find inspiration in this sort of world because of the abundance of vaguely-European rofan novels - easier to convey a message if you don't need to spend extra arduous hours researching different regions and settings, but then you end up with a flood of copy-and-paste settings that are less of a world and more of a backdrop. Same capitalist system, same gender discrimination, same system of emperors and nobles and titles and clothes, same religious hierarchy system, same vague region to the east, same monster infested north - things that provide problems for the cast to overcome, and are often used as a plot device, and it's totally fine to do, but there's just a real lack of other worlds in rofan manhwas 😭😭 maybe I'm just used to high fantasy books, but it's also cool seeing worlds that don't mimic this one's societies and structures, if the novels are supposed to be an escape from this one (wait where the shooting star falls has perhaps some of the most engaging designs I've seen in manhwas - so charming). Or if they do mimic this one, then it's refreshing seeing them be consistent with fashion and politics (secret lady!!!!!!!) which adds realism to an idealistic text - rather than merely romanticising nobles. The worlds also tend to be rather predictable unfortunately (concubine walkthrough is very good at being unpredictable - one of my favourite rofans).

The ordinary folk... the poor commoners... another can of worms has opened prepare yourself.... where do I even begin..

The glazers - enhance the MC's exploits, serve as a link between the commoners and MC, especially if they have a hand in saving a village or something. Used as a comedic device or introduction, especially if MC is in disguise and overhears them talking and isn't recognised. As far as plot devices go, can be humorous or even serve to provide context clues that aren't part of the explicit narrative. Not the worst, certainly not the best.

The victims - exist to be saved from the plague by the medicinal transmigrator/saint, could initially be scornful of MC but later change their tune once they're saved, maybe they're the ones who introduce a new arc by requesting help from the MC. Maybe they're the child offering flowers to the MC - bedraggled orphans who make the MC realise huh, wealth inequality exists.. let's build a school and then barely touches on it after. Or MC takes pity on them, treats them nicely, and gets a loyal person out of it that serves to hasten the plot by being useful. Neutral about this one tbh, if working class characters are fleshed out elsewhere then cool whatever background characters but other then that it's typically this regular archetype

Villains... where do I even begin... notice how they're not even the MAIN antagonists. With further inspection in transmigrator novels in particular, the 'original' antagonist often appears to have some redeeming qualities and is typically a noble/potential love interest, while secondary & minor antagonists are usually just locked up/killed off/made to serve the MC. Bandits attacking MC, thieves, petty villains, knights made to attack MC, alleyway scum, etc - sure, they may be nobles occasionally, but usually it's the commoners. Again, I get that the main antagonists in rofan novels are typically other nobles because those two spheres don't really interact, but come on. With the exceptions that are main antagonists, they're still in very close proximity to MC - adopted children who want MC's place, schemers who are totally irredeemable, who want money and power and it just cements this image of the lower class tbh.

Delving into similar territory, those opposed to the mc typically get either horribly punished or they get converted/reformed by the mc. E.g. commoner A insults MC, ass whooped by duke of the north or worse. Pickpocket ends up with hands lopped off, etc. I'm getting sleepy so the rest will be somewhat shorter.

Servants/knights/second male leads - again, made to serve the MC, servants typically exist as sympathetic links to MC that unfortunately get killed off/get abused which sparks the MC's anger etc. Knights also serve as a link to commoners as the MC cuts off corrupt knight commanders/reshapes them into something formidable, etc. Again, neutral about this as it comes with the territory of having a copypaste fantasy. Second male leads... on the other hand.... knight second male leads.... commoner knight second male lead childhood friends.... serve as romantic turmoil, to incite jealousy in the male lead, usually brown haired//practically always unrequited which in turn shapes their character as being greedy for what they can't have - it's an unconscious decision/design (esp when they then get written as obsessive etc.) that also sets the cold duke/noble/etc on an emotional rank above the lower class second ml. not a huge fan tbh...

now we discuss actual male leads who happen to be commoners, which isn't exactly the norm - because when they appear as commoners, they typically have a secret double life as a noble/tower mage/etc and therefore don't really belong in this category but I added them regardless because it's also quite interesting to see. Or, if they are indeed commoners, then they have some super powerful skill that allows them to transcend ranks, and at the end of the day they stop being commoners. again, neutral

and finally... my least favourite... circumstantial, plot doomed villains. specifically when it comes to rofans with mistresses/concubines who come from commoner backgrounds... whole time they're demeaned for those commoner backgrounds rather than seeing that they're more bound by circumstance because how exactly does one refuse a noble in that situation? I could have written a whole post just like this about this particular trope, in regards to a rather popular manhwa that absolutely butchers her character. Like people desperate to survive and better their circumstances, becoming villains, and people choose to focus on the things that they could not help rather than purely their actions... come on now... 😭😭

actually, my other least favourite variant is transmigrators who come from a working class background and then completely lose the plot. Not literally, but I think I read one where a transmigrator ends up as a 'villainess' who is only labelled such because she holds a grudge against the male lead who essentially colonised her country and fell in love with her and brought her as a prisoner of war and then the new female lead not only agrees with the premise of the story that she's the villainess but actively works to get closer to the male lead.... it's not exactly a commoner irk, but it irritated me so much I'm still thinking about it a year later even after leaving a long winded comment underneath... lord... like critical thinking wasn't taught in schools??

anyways I ended up yapping far too much... honestly while it may be frustrating having the same flat working class characters, I think I'd enjoy it more if the manhwa didn't fall into the other overused tropes 😓😓 unfortunately I'll remain a critic.. I've got roughly 500 or so manhwas, manhuas and mangas that I've read and pattern recognition often ends up a curse when it comes to these things, which is why I lowkey decided to make my own satirical isekai that keeps getting expanded lmao

(I think I have the opposite problem lmao my parents also don't know that much english but I still get way too paranoid and switch tabs whenever I write even the most sfw stuff 😭)

Since the last post, Lackadaisy Ingenue mini episode, the music video for it, some streams, Lackadaisy Infestation short, Season 1 Poster and Production Progress card have been released. Also, the FAQ page hasn't been updated in two years. I know you are very busy with other things and I don't want to rush you, I just think it would be better if there was more news about the production of the series, if not as much as there was with the pilot, then at least more than there is right now

We are updating the Little Daisy Devlog less frequently since we're trying to make sure the money goes to the production, marketing, etc. for now. One thing you may soon learn about my style of writing, if you haven't figured it out already, is that I like to play with my food. Horror, I feel, works best when there is a slow, creeping, building sort of tension behind it. Jump scares are cheap. They don't last. Keeping you awake at night, thinking about what you've just seen? Now that's the good shit.

You know, it's funny. Despite the countless times you've pledged to not talk about Snoot Game to deny it visibility, you continue to talk about it on Twitter, Tumblr, even lurking in a Snoot Discord server. Why is that?

Honestly? It’s true, I really did want to drop it and never talk about it ever again. But all its fans’ bullshit kept bubbling up in awful ways. In my inbox, in my Twitter replies, any place where I could’ve talked about and enjoyed GVH was infested with Snootbros. Hell, I asked people to stop talking to me about it, but it kept coming.

As for the server, I only got in because someone dropped an invite link recently. I had a burner account already. It’s funny that you guys claim I’m the obsessed one when you all talk about me every day. 400 posts and counting as of today.

I’m just one person that criticized a game I didn’t like, and this is the reaction? Wishing me death, trying to troll and mock me, calling me “axe wound neet”, over an opinion you disagree with?

I’ve said it before, but if you all stayed in your own corner of the internet and didn’t bother us GVH fans and the KO_OP team, I would have shut up. But you guys keep poking the bear and acting shocked when it reacts.
