okay actually. i am maybe going to cry lol. here is a non-exhaustive list of the medical professionals i have seen since i was in seventh grade:
too many internists (as primary care/general practice) to actually count. well over a dozen.
two neurologists
one spine specialist
seven physical therapists
two chiropractors
four massage therapists
three dentists
one oral surgeon
i have had many MRIs and x-rays. i have had a lot of blood taken. i have taken rounds of steroids and muscle relaxers for pain/symptom management. there have been times i could not turn my head to one side for months at a time. i have scoliosis, which wasn't figured out until the fifth or so physical therapist, even though previous chiropractors had taken x-rays of my spine.
here is a non-exhaustive list of reasons why i sought such intensive care:
debilitating migraines
severe back pain
severe neck pain
bad pain flares in my back teeth during times of stress
ear aches
here is a non-exhaustive list of things i have been told about myself by these professionals:
the enamel on my teeth was worn off and had to be artificially reapplied "because" i "brushed my teeth too aggressively."
that the reason my ears hurt was "because" i "cleaned them too aggressively" and there was no protective ear wax left.
that the lowest three discs in my spine were degenerating.
that i was grinding my teeth in my sleep.
that i was hyper-tensing in my sleep and that i should "take xanax daily & nightly to make it stop."
that i had scoliosis. (this one is 100% confirmed)
that i needed therapy to become less stressed so my muscles would relax.
that i needed massage therapy and other various treatments to address how tight all my fascia was in certain parts of my body.
that i should try mouth guards because the teeth grinding had started to do real damage.
that i should enter a sleep study for how intense and chronic my insomnia was.
that the pain in my hands/tingling in my fingers was because my wrists were too weak.
that there was "something evil stored" in my neck
and then. an anon yesterday asked if i had tmj. and i said probably not. and then @chronodyne slid me a message that said "re: tmj, mine is myofascial and i also don’t have the clicking/trouble opening my mouth."
so i did some reading.
starting with myofascial tmj got me here (cedars-sinai.org)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i paused to look up bruxism, which turns out to be the medical term for grinding/clenching your fucking teeth:
Tumblr media
highlights are things i have experienced and sought or had medical attention for (dull headaches are not highlighted because i have only ever sought medical attention for migraines, though i certainly have dull headaches all the time).
okay. so i know i clench my jaw/grind my teeth in the daytime. and a dentist has told me before that it's evident i do it in my sleep, too. just the other day i woke up with a ravaged inside right cheek from chewing it in my sleep. so i can safely self-diagnose bruxism.
back to tmd.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
highlights are symptoms i have experienced. i did not highlight teeth sensitivity because i would classify it as pain instead. but you don't understand the howl i let out internally when i read the ringing in the ears and numbness/tingling feeling in your fingers bullet points. i have been operating under the assumption that i have tinnitus and probably a very scary autoimmune disorder that i just am better off ignoring (this is not medical advice, it's avoidance). i'm not saying i don't have those things, but i also never knew there were other possibilities.
Tumblr media
over the course of my life i have had many injuries to my neck and actually i have also had a pretty severe concussion before, which i would classify as a head injury. i have many of the symptoms listed for tmd. i have even undergone, incongruously, many of the treatments for it. so many doctors have noted and attempted to address issues with my fascia, with my muscles, with my tension.
it raising its ugly head when i'm stressed makes sense i literally said in my post yesterday DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE WHEN THEIR BLOOD PRESSURE RAISES LOL SOB
i cannot conclusively diagnose myself with tmd or, for that matter, with mps (myofasical pain syndrome, which i had also never heard of!). but i am so, so frustrated because i have never even heard these words. i have never been screened for these things. no medical professional has ever discussed these possibilities with me, even when they're treating me for several of the symptoms!
i'm crying for all the tests i've undergone that led to nothing. always, infuriatingly, labeled a medical mystery. for the rounds of steroids and muscle relaxers i've been prescribed. for the painful manual manipulations i've been subjected to. for every single person who ever touched my body commenting on how tight/tense my neck is. for the addiction that stemmed from that first xanax prescription when i was 15 that caused so much fucking grief in my life. for the chronic pain that has swallowed whole decades of my life and sapped my energy since i was a child.
none of these symptoms were ever NOT disclosed to a medical professional. at each one, i did the immense labor of dragging out my entire, perplexing medical history, including injuries and past issues and treatments. but nobody ever thought to consider this? nobody, with all those degrees, with those long careers, with all those patients, ever thought to consider this? while i was in all those paper gowns, on all those cold tables, getting poked and prodded, crying, paying for tests i could not afford, so sleep deprived i thought i'd die at 25, nobody considered this?
anyway @chronodyne suggested seeing an oral surgeon to discuss this so. i guess that's what i'm looking up next.

whump ideas: hands
currently, it's cold. there is snow outside and the joints in my dominant hand are aching and swollen. my knuckles, really. the skin around my knuckles is white, like when you press down hard on something and the tip of your finger goes colorless for a moment.
my hands are covered in scratches. from cardboard, my knife, other shit i've bumped into in the rush at work. unfortunately my wrist has the same look and makes me uncomfortable.
my left wrist keeps hurting. carpal tunnel. at lunch yesterday my hand started tingling. like it went numb as if i was laying on it in my sleep.
when lifting the product above my head at work, i could feel the blood drain from both of my hands. they got cold. and once i dropped it down, i could feel the warm rush right back into em.
bonus: my fucking shoulder doesn't move right and it always feels like this heavy stuff is gonna pop it right out

Emergency Room, Part 1 ~ Bucky Barnes
A big thank you to @writing-on-the-wahl for the beta read and encouragement. Seriously, I wouldn’t have written this without her.
Summary: Y/N is an ER nurse with Tony as her emergency contact, only when called about an emergency, Tony sends Bucky instead.
Word count: 4.3k
Emergency Room Masterlist
Tumblr media
When I arrived at the makeshift infirmary in the Avenger’s compound, Tony was waiting for me at the door. “Y/N,” he said with relief, holding out a hand to shake mine. “Thanks for coming in on a Sunday.”
Grime smudged his face, and the dark circles under his eyes jumped out at me. They must’ve just made it back to the compound, or he would’ve already cleaned himself up. Not for the first time did I wonder what the team did whenever they left this tower.
But my curiosity didn’t match my security clearance, so I rolled my sleeves up. “What’ve we got?”
He stepped aside to let me in, and I saw Clint Barton, Steve Rogers, and Bucky Barnes sitting on separate exam chairs. They all looked exhausted, but Clint and Steve both waved upon seeing me, good natured until the end.
Bucky, however, merely watched me with a flat stare, the attention making my heart jump a little as he tracked my every movement. I went to the sink to wash my hands, hiding my face from view.
It didn’t matter that he was always among the injured when I came here to patch up the Avengers: he’d never said a word to me, only nodding yes or no. I’d long since wondered if I’d offended him somehow, a thought that deflated me whenever I considered how highly everyone thought of him around here.
Considering Clint was the only one injured with a normal healing rate, I went to him first.
“Where does it hurt?” I asked Clint, and he held up his wrist. “What did you do?”
“Tried to break my fall.”
“How far did you fall?” I asked.
“That’s classified,” Tony piped up.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, instead moving on to other questions. “Did you hear or feel a snap?” Clint shook his head. “Is there numbness or tingling in your fingers?” He shook his head again. I carefully started probing the joint. “How are Laura and the kids?” I asked, trying to distract him.
He broke out in a grin. “They’re great, thanks for asking, though Laura thinks my idea to deep fry the turkey for Thanksgiving this year is stupid.”
I chuckled, opening the cabinet where the tape, bandages, and braces were kept. Tony kept the infirmary better stocked than most ERs, a fact of which I was endlessly jealous. If I could treat the traumas here, patient survival rates would go through the roof.
“Well, if the influx of patients we get every holiday says anything, I'm inclined to agree with your wife,” I said, pulling out a brace.
Clint hummed in agreement. “Yeah, I suppose tradition isn’t always something to be messed with. How’s the ER treating you?”
I smiled, retrieving an ice pack from the fridge. “There’s never a dull moment in the ER, especially when it’s short staffed.” Carefully setting the ice pack on his wrist, I handed him the brace. “Wear the brace, rest it, and ice it for twenty minutes every few hours, okay?”
“No fancy cast for my kids to sign?” Clint quipped, holding up the brace.
“Sorry, no. There seems to be no obvious deformity, so I’m assuming it’s just a sprain.”
Clint nodded, and I moved on to Steve.
“Where does it hurt?” I asked him, and he stuck out his leg, showing me the bloody bandages wrapped around his thigh. “What happened?”
“Gunshot. I pulled the bullet out in the field, but I probably lost a lot of blood.” He was so casual, one could’ve thought he was discussing what he needed from the grocery store.
Then again, gunshot wounds were probably routine for all the Avengers.
I snapped on a pair of disposable blue gloves before unraveling the bandages. The bleeding had already stopped. I shook my head. “I wish all my patients had superhuman healing.”
Steve chuckled as I got to work. “Short staffed, huh? Sounds miserable.”
“Well, the plus side of working in the ER means no one stays for long. Either they’re moved to a different floor, or we patch them up and send them home. Even the dangerous patients aren’t around for very long.”
“Dangerous?”
I turned towards the word, wondering who’d come in without my noticing, but the only newcomer was the frown on Bucky’s face. It took me a few moments to realize he was the one who’d spoken.
I tried to school my shocked features into a more neutral expression, clearing my throat. “Danger...uh, comes with the job.” I turned back to Steve, trying to get my head back in the game. “I’m going to clean it up as best I can, but it’s gonna hurt.”
Steve nodded grimly, and I opened a drawer near me, taking out packets of alcohol wipes and a clean roll of bandages.
I ripped open the first wipe and started cleaning the dried streams of blood underneath the wound. “How’s Sharon?”
A soft blush dusted Steve’s cheeks. “She’s alright,” he murmured, looking at the floor. “We’ve both been kinda busy.”
“Busy’s something I can understand,” I said with a sigh, cleaning higher.
“I keep telling him he needs to grow a pair and ask her to move in,” Clint cut in, absentmindedly running his fingers over the brace on his arm.
“I don’t want to move too quickly,” Steve mumbled. “It’s only been a few months.”
“Yeah, it could be that,” Clint said lightly. “Or it could be that the cap thinks it’s unorthodox to live with a woman before marriage.”
“I don’t think it’s unorthodox!” Steve protested, his voice several pitches too high.
I smothered a smile. “Sharon’s a modern woman, isn’t she? I’m sure she’s cool with it. Maybe she’s even lived with a boyfriend before.”
Steve frowned. “I’m gonna try not to think about that.”
I chuckled and threw away the dirty wipes, taking the bandage and wrapping it tight enough to stay secure but not so tight as to cut off the circulation. “With your healing rates, that should be healed after a couple nights sleep. Just avoid soaking it, no baths or swimming.”
Steve nodded with a friendly smile. “Thanks, Y/N.”
Tony cleared his throat from behind me. “Steve and Clint, why don’t we go and get something to eat? Let Y/N take care of Bucky, hmm?”
I looked behind me in time to see the three men exchange a look that I couldn’t quite understand.
“Sure, let’s go,” said Clint, in a lighthearted voice that sounded vaguely forced. Steve and Clint got to their feet and followed Tony out the door...
...leaving me alone with Bucky.
I shakily removed my gloves and tossed them in the trash can before approaching Bucky. “Wh-where does it hurt?” I asked, trying not to be angry with myself for stammering. Usually the more nervous I was with a patient, the more stoic I became.
These nerves were of a different kind.
Bucky didn’t say anything, just reached behind him with his synthetic arm and pulled the shirt over his head.
If my nerves had been unsettled before, they were completely frazzled now.
I was a nurse; I’d seen countless patients fully nude, let alone shirtless, yet I didn’t know where to look or how to hold myself. His tanned skin and tight abs somehow felt like the elephant in the room.
I shook myself, trying to shake my head back into the land of professionalism.
One of Bucky’s sides was badly bruised, a massive, angry red and purple mark that made me slightly nauseous when I imagined how painful it was.
But already, the edge of the ugly bruise was turning green, signaling healing.
“Are there no jobs that pay better?” Bucky asked, taking me away from my train of thought.
“I’m sorry?”
“Your job.”
“Oh...well, it’s not about the pay,” I replied, lightly running my fingers over the bruised skin to check his pain response. The skin in between his eyebrows furrowed, but that was his only indication of pain. “If it was about money, I would’ve accepted Mr. Stark’s six  figure offer and moved into a room here on the compound.”
“Why is it dangerous?” Bucky asked, his tone clipped as I started to palpate the skin.
“Ummm...some patients throw a punch every now and then.” Bucky tensed, but I couldn’t tell if it was in response to what I was saying or pain. “But that’s what security is for.”
He stayed silent as I finished my examination. “This should heal soon too,” I told him, turning around to wash my hands. “Unfortunately, there’s not much I can do to help, unless you want something for the pain?”
When he didn’t respond, I turned to look at him. “Bucky?”
“I don’t like the idea of you in danger,” he said quietly, fingers—metal and skin—nervously fingering the shirt in his hands.
I blinked, surprised at his concern. “I’m not in danger. Not really.”
I thought I caught sight of a frown as he pulled his shirt back his head, but I dismissed it. He couldn’t be worried about me, he barely knew me.
Jarvis spoke up, causing me to jump. “Ms. Y/L/N, Mr. Stark would like to invite you to dinner with the Avengers tonight.”
“Thank him for the offer, Jarvis, but I’ll be late for my shift tonight if I don’t leave now.”
I turned to leave.
“Wait.” A hand grabbed my shoulder, turning me back around to face Bucky who was now standing. “Just...be safe,” he murmured, his cold fingers nearly making me gasp as he ran a hand down my arm to link hands.
I felt my cheeks heat up, and I scolded myself for being so transparent. I cleared my throat. “I’m a big girl, I’ll be aright.”
He watched me warily for a moment before nodding and letting me go.
I stood there for a moment, staring stupidly at him before shaking myself back into reality.
I was going to be late for work.
Still, I couldn’t shake the feeling of his eyes trained on me as I left the room.
-
I reached the ER fifteen minutes early instead of my regular twenty minutes. Changing into my scrubs and clocking in took five minutes, and I didn’t want the nurses to feel rushed when giving me their report.
The more freedom I had to ask questions, the more tips and tricks I learned with how to deal with patients, particularly the difficult ones.
As the nurse with tired eyes gave me the report, I was surprised at how many rooms were full. Sunday nights weren’t usually this busy. The busiest time of week, unless there was a holiday, was Mondays.
I didn’t know if statistically people got sick more often on weekdays or if people really didn’t want to come to the hospital on a weekend, but during the day shift on Mondays, the ER was slammed.
The nurse said goodbye and left, leaving me with 5 patients to deal with.
Time to get to work.
-
Eleven hours later, the sun was streaming in through the ambulance bay doors, the only signal that it was almost 07:00. Just a little bit longer, and I could go home to my bed and sleep.
Just a little while longer.
Stifling a yawn, I pulled back the curtain in room 4 and got to work starting an IV.
IVs were my favorite. There was something so beautiful about the whole process of creating a pathway into the body’s own circulatory system to help the body heal itself.
It was almost...magical.
After bringing the doctor to room 7 and ordering a CT scan for room 4, I sat down to start on the discharge for room 6.
Tyler, one of the day shift nurses, arrived and efficiently relieved one of the other nurses after getting her report.
I wistfully watched the nurse clock out and walk out of the department with tired steps. I glanced at my watch. 0658. It seemed the day shift nurse did not share my same affinity for being early.
I was about to log out of my computer when I saw the house supervisor trooping down the hallway. It was obvious from her face that she was nervous. She walked straight up to Tyler.
“What’s up, Cathy?” Tyler chirped.
“You’re the only nurse scheduled for today. The other two scheduled for today resigned last week.” She started to wring her hands. “I alerted the float pool nurses on call for today, but none have responded so far.”
Tyler’s happy demeanor melted away, and he gulped. “Ah. Well, then. Okay, thanks for telling me. I...I can handle it.”
“No,” I blurted, causing them both to turn to me.
What was I doing? I was exhausted, hungry, and starting to smell. I needed to mind my own business and let them figure it out.
But the hopeful look on Tyler’s face made me stand straighter.
“I’ll stay.” The house supervisor opened her mouth to argue, but I shot her a glare and crossed my arms. “I’m not leaving Tyler on his own with only a few CNAs to deal with a Monday morning rush.”
“You’re not supposed to work a double shift,” the house supervisor mumbled, not meeting my eyes.
I stuck my chin out stubbornly. “It’s not the first, and it won’t be the last.”
The house supervisor reluctantly nodded and left.
Tyler slapped me on the back. “Thanks, Y/N.”
“Don’t thank me yet,” I mumbled as the call light for room 8 lit up.
-
The night shift had been long and trying, but the day shift passed slower than I could’ve ever thought possible.
Come 0830, the waiting room was so full, family members were having to give up their seats for other patients. And they just kept coming.
The cases were starting to get muddled together in my head.
One suspected case of meningitis, a pediatric case of persistent seizures, five or six adults down with the stomach flu, a couple sprained ankles and wrists, a suspected overdose, two heart attacks, a few minor car accidents, and still more I couldn’t remember.
It’d been so busy, I hadn’t even gotten a break for lunch.
Finally sitting down at my computer to update my charts, I glanced at the clock.
1732.
One and a half more hours, then I’d be done.
I sighed, resting my forehead on the desk. It wouldn’t be safe for me to drive myself home at this point, not being this exhausted. I could take a shower in the locker room, then sleep in the on call room. Maybe I’d even get some food from the cafeteria.
My stomach turned at the idea of the cafeteria food.
I refocused on updating the patient charts and finalizing room 8′s discharge papers, but my stomach continued to churn. Maybe I needed to take a break.
Michelle, one of the CNAs, came into view. “Y/N, Dr. Cook ordered an EKG for room 6.”
I got to my feet and stumbled as the room started to spin slightly. I blinked hard, and my vision stabilized.
“Hello, ma’am,” I said with a smile as I dragged the EKG machine into the room. “I’m here to do your EKG.”
“Hun, you don’t look so good,” the kindly old woman replied.
I forced a smile. “Don’t worry about me, Mrs. Matlack, we’re here to take care of you.”
It took me twice as long to run the EKG as it normally did, but thankfully, the general public did not know how long it took to run an EKG. Mrs. Matlack chatted about this and that, keeping herself occupied with chatter as I placed the leads. I finished up, and wheeled the machine out, promising that the doctor would look at her results and be by to talk to her.
My vision swayed again as I pulled the EKG machine towards the supply closet, swiping my badge in front of the reader and pushing the door open.
Suddenly, everything pitched to one side, and I lost my balance. I threw out my hands to grab something to hold myself up.
Instead, my body slammed into the floor.
-
It took everyone much longer than anticipated to find me on the closet floor. No matter how loudly I proclaimed I never lost consciousness, they’d forced me to get a CT scan.
Wearing a hospital gown that showed my butt was humiliating, nevermind the fact that all of my coworkers kept popping in to check on me.
“No, don’t put me in a room,” I moaned as Michelle wheeled me into room 8. “The rooms are for the patients.”
“You are a patient.” She helped me to my feet and onto the bed.
I’d never admit it, but it felt so good to lay down. My eyes fell closed. It hurt to have my eyes closed, and somehow, simultaneously, I couldn’t make them open. I heard the scrape of the curtain being pulled back. “Really,” I told Michelle, “this is overkill. I’m fine.”
“Overkill, huh?” said a male voice.
My sore eyes flew open, and I was sure they were deceiving me because Bucky stood in the doorway, arms folded as he looked me up and down.
Even in my exhausted state, I still couldn’t help noticing the black leather jacket he wore, the neat facial hair, and the gloves he wore to hide his metal hand. He leaned against the wall with a casual air, but I could see the grit of his jaw and the angry set of his lips.
With that expression, combined with his outfit, he looked ready to knife somebody in an alleyway.
“Bucky?” I croaked. My voice was uncharacteristically hoarse, which had absolutely nothing to do with the full-body scan his eyes were currently conducting. “What are you doing here?”
His eyes continued on their path, checking for blood, bruises, or limbs going in the wrong direction. “Apparently, Stark is your emergency contact, and he was in the middle of an important meeting, so he asked me to come.” He pushed off the wall and gingerly sat beside me, glancing up at the heart monitor. “Are you okay?”
I started to sit up. “I’m fine.”
Bucky reached out a hand, pushing me back down on the bed. “People who are fine don’t end up in the ER. What happened?”
“I just got a little lightheaded,” I said while trying and failing to bat away his hand, “that’s all, this is totally unnecessary.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. “If the trained medical professionals think you need to be checked out, then you need to be checked out.”
“I’m a trained medical professional.”
Bucky had just enough time to shake his head before Tyler bustled into the room, holding the supplies for an IV.
“Nuh uh.” I wagged my finger back and forth. “Don’t waste your time doing an IV on me, I can do it myself.” I held out my hands expectantly.
“Your hands are shaking,” Bucky said quietly. “You really want to stick yourself with a needle?”
I shot him a glare. “Fine, but at least let a nursing student try it, they’re the ones that need the practice.”
Tyler scoffed. “Forgive me if I don’t take orders from the person who thought it’d be a good idea to work a double shift.”
“Traitor,” I mumbled.
“You’ve been working since I last saw you?” Bucky asked, disbelief written all over his face. I didn’t say anything, which was answer enough. “Y/N, it’s been over 22 hours!”
“Oh, really? I hadn’t noticed,” I replied sarcastically.
“She didn’t get a lunch break either,” Tyler disclosed.
“Thank you, Tyler.” I shot him a glare, hoping he’d get the point.
Bucky let out a quick and quiet huff. “Y/N, what were you thinking?”
“We’re short-staffed! What was I supposed to do, just leave?”
Bucky shook his head, muttering something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like “You’re crazy.”
“That’s mean,” I grumbled back as Tyler readied the needle. “I prefer the term ‘dedicated’.”
After Tyler finished the IV, he told me he was going to go find Dr. Cook to give me the all clear and left.
I fidgeted with the hospital gown, unsettled to see myself in the garb of our patients. “You don’t have to stay,” I told Bucky, feeling awkward that Tony hadn’t given him much of a choice in the matter. “I can take care of myself.”
“Why’s Stark your emergency contact?”
I scratched my neck. “Well...I don’t have any family in the area. Not too many friends outside of work either. When I started working for Tony, Jarvis alerted him to the fact that I had no emergency contact, and Tony insisted I put him down.”
Bucky chuckled. “Sounds like Stark.”
It was quiet for a few moments, nothing but the light beeping noises of the heart monitors drifting into the room.
“I thought you’d been attacked,” Bucky confessed, looking down at his gloved hands that rested in his lap. “When Tony said you were in trouble, I pictured the worst.” A crease appeared between his eyebrows, and suddenly, he looked like the family members I’d always interacted with in this hospital.
The worry bordering on distress.
It was the most emotion I’d ever seen from him, and I felt so unnerved, I couldn’t figure out how to respond.
Bucky shook his head, looking up at me. “Then, I find out that you did this to yourself.”
“Don’t be dramatic,” I interjected, even as my stomach twisted at his displeasure. “It’s nothing that a little sleep and food won’t cure.”
As if my words had summoned him, Dr. Cook bustled into the room, giving me the discharge papers to sign.
It took me nearly fifteen minutes to change out of my hospital gown and into my scrubs, but I refused to ask anyone for help. I’d been humbled enough for one day, I was not about to ask Tyler or, heaven forbid, Bucky, for help.
When I’d finished threading my arms through the sleeves of my scrubs, I sat back down on the bed. “I’m done,” I called, my voice strangely quiet.
The curtain was yanked aside and Bucky came in, slinging my work bag over his shoulder like it weighed nothing.
“I have your jacket,” he said by way of greeting. I held my hands out for it, but he merely held it open for me to thread my arms through the sleeves.
I was suddenly reminded of being a kid while my mom helped me shrug on my coat, and the reminder made me wrinkle my nose.
He didn’t seem to notice, his eyes following the zipper as he zipped it up halfway. “Can you walk?” he asked gently.
“Can I walk?” I scoffed under my breath, pushing myself to my feet.
For a moment, I stood eye-level with the flat look on Bucky’s face. But then my knees gave out, and I tried to grab onto the bed.
Two arms shot out and caught me, holding me up.
“I’m sorry,” I mumbled, struggling to hold my head up. “I didn’t mean to-”
“Don’t worry about it.” Bucky slid an arm under my legs and easily pulled me into his arms. “I got you.”
“But what about your ribs?” I protested. “Aren’t you in pain?”
Bucky looked down at me with a fond smile. “Don’t be dramatic,” he quoted back at me, making me chuckle.
Giving in, I looped my arms around his neck, resting my heavy head on his chest.
He carried me out of the ER, walking towards a bright yellow sports car I recognized as Tony’s. I distantly wondered if Tony suggested Bucky take something other than his motorcycle or if he was blissfully unaware of the car’s current location.
“Wait,” I mumbled, pointing at my car parked in employee parking. “That’s my car, I have to drive it home.”
Bucky tucked his chin in to look at me. “You don’t actually expect me to let you drive in this state, do you?”
“But-“
“Tell you what, if you can stand for a minute straight, I’ll let you drive yourself.”
“Mean,” I mumbled into his jacket.
His chest rumbled with a chuckle. “That’s what I thought.”
Depositing me in the passenger seat, he gently closed the door.
My eyes fell shut on the way home, and I rested my cheek on the arm rest, relishing the fact that I could finally close my eyes.
At one point, I thought I felt a hand brush against my own, but I was too tired to look. It wasn’t until I heard the car door open and shut that I blearily looked up to see the inside of Tony’s garage.
“Wait,” I said weakly as Bucky opened my door and scooped me up into his arms. “This isn’t my place.”
“No, you’re staying in the compound tonight.” Any protest of mine was swallowed up as I yawned so large, my jaw cracked.
Bucky carried me into the elevator, pushing the button for the fourth floor.
All the guest rooms were on the second floor.
“Wait,” I said weakly, “I don’t want to intrude. You already had to wait with me and drive me here, it’s not fair on you.”
Bucky shushed me gently. “Don’t worry about it.”
“But what if the others see me? I patch you guys up, you guys shouldn’t see me like this.”
“What did I just say?” Bucky said, not unkindly. “Don’t worry about it, I’ve got you.” The doors dinged open, and Bucky carried me down the hallway to his room, managing to open the door with one hand.
I felt him lay me down on something soft, and I opened my eyes to see him untying the laces of my shoes. “I don’t want to take the bed,” I protested, struggling to keep my eyes open. “You have to sleep too.”
Bucky rolled his eyes as he pulled the covers over me, scrubs and all. “It won’t kill me to sleep on the floor.”
I was quickly losing consciousness. “But you…you shouldn’t…you shouldn’t…”
“It’s okay, Y/N. Sleep. I’ve got you.”
I could’ve sworn I felt a gentle caress on my forehead, but I was asleep before I could finish the thought.

Nothing but the Best
Author’s note: hello my dears! Sorry for not updating the past few days. I travel a lot for work and the circumstances lately made it difficult for me to update as much as I wanted. Although I did get enough inspiration to write this chapter. I come back to you with some juicy lemony goodness ;)

X.
Blinding jealousy was the only thing that could describe how Satoru felt. Boiling in his blood, licking flames of rage through his body.
Betrayal… his best friend, holding his wife’s hand as he walked her back home. Not only that! Suguru went in with YOU! In your apartment! As if this was the most normal thing in the world!
Did you invite him to stay the night? Did you both plan this ahead of time?
Warping to the top of the building next to yours he continued to watch from his position as you turned on the lights in your apartment. Setting your bag on the counter, taking off your shoes and jacket. Suguru followed you in taking off his shoes and walking into the kitchen after you.
Gojo saw you both laughing and talking like you always did. You were at ease, immersed in your own world… completely forgetting about Satoru.
Did the kiss from last night mean nothing to you?
“What the fuck is going on?!” He groaned removing his blindfold; now fully observing and analyzing every single detail of what you two were doing using his six eyes.
Gojo didn’t want to miss a thing.
He focused on you, your reactions, the way you smiled, the way you acted, your heartbeat, the tone of your voice and… that bright and warm halo of happiness surrounding you while in Suguru’s presence; the same halo that last night was cold for Satoru. All of your smiles, all of your warmth and kindness were dedicated to Suguru.
Satoru’s frayed nerves and chaotic mind debated wether he should warp there and steal you away (… of course then proceed to fuck your into oblivion, fill you with his cum to the brim until you knew there was no other man for you other than your husband) OR keep watching and see how far you would go.
As angry as he was right then, he had to remind himself that Suguru and you had always been very close. It wasn’t uncommon for Geto fo visit you and have dinner with you to keep you company whenever Satoru wasn’t around due to his work or even have dinner together all three of you. This wasn’t ‘abnormal’ per say. The difference was that NOW you ‘thought’ you were not Satoru’s anymore (the operational word being ‘thought’)Geto’s presence never bothered him before… until now.
Taking a deep breath Satoru saw you walking towards your bedroom. His hands trembled in anticipation.
Were you going to sleep with Suguru?
He walked along the edge of his rooftop following your movements inside until you stopped in front of your room. Suguru moved closer to you and Satoru almost snapped. Lifting his hand to use his cursed technic against his best friend he saw how you both hugged and after you placed a kiss on his cheek you bid him goodnight. You pulled back and Satoru sighed in relieve but then Suguru was the one that leaned in and kissed your lips. Satoru was as shocked as you were but you managed to recover faster than he did since you returned Suguru’s embrace for what felt like an eternity. Finally when you separated, Geto and you exchanged a couple words and after another hug he walked out of your room closing the door behind him.
Satoru’s eyes had been open like saucers while the exchange took place, he released a breath he didn’t know have been holding. He saw you turn around and touch your lips with a blush on your cheeks.
He lost his fucking mind right then.
-
After coming back home Suguru and you talked about the latest shows you were watching and the movies you wanted to watch so you could catch up. A couple jokes about your gory tastes in movies and series after and you were both ready to turn in for the day.
“So! You wanna do a ‘The Walking Dead’ marathon?” You asked with a smirk “sure doll, we can do that tomorrow. You have the morning free right?” Asked Suguru. Sunday mornings were your ‘me’ time since your instructor didn’t work on Sundays “yes I do!” You answered with a big grin. You felt like a kid and the sensation filled you with happiness.
Now that Suguru was here you felt so different, as if you had been numb but now you could feel again.
A yawn cut your next sentence making Suguru chuckle “come on sleepy head, you and I are both whipped” you complied with a sleepy smile and walked down the hall.
Geto stopped in front of your room and gave you one of his characteristic big bear hugs. He was so tall and muscular, you felt surrounded by warmth and muscles everywhere. The fresh and crisp scent of his citrus cologne and detergent made your stomach do a little flip. The intimacy and trust you felt with him reminded you that you were not alone.
It had been easy to bury yourself physically and emotionally in your work but now that Suguru was with you, it reminded you that despite of how tough things got, you would always count on him.
Reluctantly you both pulled back, his Adam’s apple at eye level with you made you swallow. When you looked back into his eyes you found his trailing on your lips before they moved up to meet your e/c eyes.
There was a growing tension between the two of you, too strong and obvious to ignore.
Before, when you were with Satoru; Geto and you had ignored it but now there was nothing stopping either of you from acknowledging it. Sooner than anticipated your lips connected in a tender kiss. He was soft and kind, not demanding. He just wanted to comfort you but also let you know he wanted you, all in his sweet particular way.
You returned the kiss. It was inviting like a balm, it didn’t mean to mark and conquer but to soothe. His plump lips still tasted of wine. It made your mouth avid to taste more.
When you pulled away a blush covered your cheeks “good night Kitten” Suguru tells you with his deep baritone making a very pleasant tingling sensation run down your spine “good night Sugu” only then Geto leaves to go to his room across from yours.
The door closes behind you, all you can hear is your heart hammering away from within, you actually….enjoyed that kiss. It was so sweet, so tender… so soothing. Everything that Suguru was to you was poured in that single action. Touching your lips you start debating whether this was something good or something you should wait before pursuing.
Satoru didn’t sign your divorce, technically you were still married. Suguru didn’t deserve a half assed relationship with someone who doesn’t have her shit together.
You were still healing it was true, but… when Suguru kissed you, it made you feel safe…. Like you could let go and trust him.
Feeling guilty about it, you compared it to Satoru’s kiss from last night. It was impossible to deny there was still passion between you your husband and yourself. But then again physical intimacy was never the problem in your former relationship.
The thrill of the danger, of knowing nothing good would come out of it and despite it all your stubborn desire to immerse yourself in the ocean that was Gojo Satoru. Was what terrified you.
No… you couldn’t think about him that way. Not anymore.
With a sigh you decided it was time for bed. You turned around to head to the bathroom but your body connected with something hard and warm. Looking up you saw Satoru’s crystal blue eyes but before you could scream he covered your mouth with one hand while wrapping the other one around your waist. “Oh no no no no my love… none of that, we are not going to alert sweet Suguru about me, princess” the smirk that pulled at his lips made you shiver, it was predatory… maniac even.
Before your senses could register the change in the atmosphere you were warped away with Satoru. You screamed, but it was too late, you were not in your home anymore.
The lavish interiors of an elegant dim lit suite received you “what the fuck are you doing!?” You asked when he let you go, taking a step back breathing heavily “are you insane!?” You asked the white haired sorcerer who in answer only moved closer to you. The more you tried to get away the closer he got, until you were trapped between the wall and his towering 6’4 frame.
“Now princess…. Just what were you and Suguru doing?hmm?” He asked with a terrifying grin that poorly attempted to disguise his anger. Moving his hand to tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“Nothing of your concern!” You answered glaring at him, had he been spying on you? You tried to drop your body against the wall to escape from him but before you moved further than an inch down Satoru completely crushed your body with his “I am not done talking to you yet… my wife” he remarked making you ball your hands in fists. It annoyed and revolted you how he tried to use your ‘unfortunate’ marital status for leverage “I am your wife only on the paper… I don’t care what you think or say!” Satoru didn’t like your answer but his grin only broadened; grabbing your wrists and placing them on top of your head he held them with one of his large hands of dexterous fingers “you are right….” He started, giving you false hope “maybe it is time I remind you of your marital duties” your eyes opened wide but before you could attempt anything he kissed you. Fierce lips and teeth demanded your submission… this wasn’t a tender request… it was a display of dominance and possession.
You bit his lip trying to make him stop but Satoru took that as an invitation to grow bolder. His hand moved to your ‘V’ cut long sleeve top and ripped it right in the middle making you gasp; giving him the perfect opportunity to plunge his tongue in your mouth and intensify the kiss tenfold.
His free hand moved to your left breast squeezing the globe of warm flesh underneath. Groaning against your lips on approval, Satoru moved both his hands to your hips and using his inhuman strength he carried you across the room faster than you could tell and then threw you on the bed.
“Satoru… don’t do this! Are you mad?!” You asked in a trembling tone while scooting backwards on the bed in a miserable attempt at escaping him.
“Yes! I am! As a matter of fact… you are a good part of the reason why I am insane!” Grabbing one of your ankles he pulled you closer to him. Spreading your legs he laid on top of your body, giving you no chance to escape “SATORU STOP PLEASE!” You screamed but Satoru only focused on destroying the fabric of your jeans. He wanted all the obstacles between you to be gone! He wanted your clothes, your pain and Geto to be gone! So he could have you all to himself.
You tried to kick him but when you are struggling with the strongest jujutsu sorcerer of his generation there was absolutely nothing your body could accomplish without his approval.
A part of yourself hated the fact that you were just as revolted as aroused at the moment. Was that combination even possible? On one hand you felt dirty because your husband was trying to force himself on you out of jealousy…. But on the other part… the dark and twisted one… you were aroused by his display of pure male dominance, by his suffocating desire to have you and only you.
It was hard to fight so many years of habit, of fantastic chemistry… of love.
You would have to be blind or stupid not to see that your husband had been obsessing over you since you left but….
What good could come out of it?
If you both gave into your primal desires and fucked each other’s brains out. Would that change anything about your broken and unhealthy marriage?
His hot mouth moved to your neck to nibble and suck on that spot right bellow your earlobe that he loved to abuse. A big bruising mark was left in place, but he wasn’t content with just that. He wanted to leave the brand of his desire painted on your skin, like a beacon for him and a warning for others.
As the minutes went by his attentions became less frantic, instead they turned more purposeful and tender.
You stopped moving altogether, not fighting him nor corresponding his affections and careful treatment of your body.

Satoru pulled back for a moment to see you…. Only then it hit him like a train.
What the fuck was he doing? He looked at you and saw the tear trails that dried on your cheeks. Your top ripped in half displaying the soft skin of your breasts only covered by a bra.
“Y/N…” he whispered looking into your eyes. He caressed your cheek “I’m sorry… love” he mumbled trembling. “I’m so sorry…” a sob broke through his lips.
Did he…..? Did he…. almost forced you to have sex with him? How far had he gone in his endeavor to get you back by any means necessary? The notion that he almost…. Raped his wife made him sick.
He cried like a child. Wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face against your naked stomach; kneeling on the floor before the bed he crumbled to pieces. Repeating ‘I’m sorry’ over and over again. He was horrified with himself; he had done many questionable things in his life but this… took the cake. It made him a piece of shit! He didn’t deserve you! You were too good for someone as tainted as him. The dread that revelation brought made him cry harder.
He realized his obsession had been a result of the fear he was unwilling to admit having. The terror that made his insides coil. The absolute horror of losing yet another person he loved.
The fear of loosing you.
He had always been alone since he was a child. Satoru didn’t share much of his past with you but the few things you knew was that he had become an orphan at a very young age. He had to mature rapidly to overcome the obstacles of being a kid with so much power in the middle of a corrupt and outdated world of magic and intrigue.
Gojo always felt lonely, despite of how much he liked to mess around with people and play pranks on everyone. But you… had been one of the very few who got to see through his perfectly built facade and tell him the truth.
The night he told you he loved you was after you decided to stay with him in his apartment. He didn’t say or do anything particularly obvious but you somehow knew he didn’t want to be alone. He kept trying to fill the space with playful banter but you shut him up by hugging him and holding him tightly saying he didn’t have to explain anything all. That you would always be there for him, no matter what. It had been on the anniversary of the death of his parents.
Somehow, your empathetic and loving nature blindly guided you to stay with him and allow THE Gojo Satoru to be just…. human in your arms.
-
As much as you wanted to hate him and resent him, seeing him in such a vulnerable state made your heart ache for him. Unable to stop yourself you caressed his platinum locks while he held onto you and cried begging for your forgiveness over and over again.
When Satoru calmed down he removed his head from your lap slowly, you have been crying along with him. Your fates leaded you both exactly where you were at. Every decision and mistake carved this painful path you walked now.
Looking into your eyes he moved closer as if he was afraid to scare you away, his face stopped just an inch away from yours, giving you the chance to reject his advances but instead of doing that you closed the distance that separated you both. You lips met and melted together in a desperate kiss. Your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer, making him moan recognizing the intimate and passionate gesture he had missed for so long. He laid you back down again, climbing on top of you. His hands moving down to your waist in an attempt to feel you as close as possible, as if you were going to disappear in any moment.
Your legs wrapped around his waist when your tongues laced together and caressed each other; moans and sighs left your lips, filling Satoru’s ears and making his hands wander over the expanse of exposed skin.
Making him stand before you and between your legs his long sleeved black shirt was removed quickly, your admired his perfectly sculpted pale torso, this man has always been so… perfect; as if the gods themselves had decided to carve every inch of his person. Although, he did look skinnier, you knew he had not been really taking care of himself. The sight send a pang of pain to your heart. “Toru….” A little painful whisper abandoned your lips when you pulled him closer. Your mouth left a small path of kisses from his neck to the center of his chest, he gasped at the sweet and soothing action. Once more, your tenderness reminded him that he did not deserve you and yet he couldn’t come to make himself stop you. He needed you more than air to live.
Avid hands moved south of his stomach to undo his jeans and pull them down; a very vague part of your brain registered that you were now willingly doing this. Should you stop? Next to go were his boxers. He was standing naked in front of you.
His hardened cock stood between his legs with a small dribble of precum rolling down the reddened head.
He was an Adonis.
Looking into his eyes you saw the loving gaze laced with guilt in his cerulean orbs. You couldn’t stop, you didn’t want to.
He then helped you lay down to return the favor. His mouth kissed its way to the center of your breasts while his right hand undid your bra behind. Taking off the remains of your destroyed top along with your bra, next were the flimsy black lace panties that he rolled down your legs until you were fully naked before his eyes.
He was left speechless “you are so beautiful…” a goddess laid naked on his bed, with her inviting lips, glorious s/c skin, a halo of darker h/c hair around your head, perfect breasts and a pair of delectably shaped legs that he wanted wrapped around him.
How did he ever dare cheat on you? Not only your body was beautiful to him but your heart, you knew no boundaries when it came down to loving someone. You had given him everything and then some.
Kneeling before you he grabbed one of your legs and left kisses from the calf to the inner thigh. Placing it carefully over his shoulder he stopped for a moment to look in your eyes before his mouth delved between your thighs. He found your sweet pussy already wet and waiting for him to lavish his attentions. Like a starved man he licked your pussy, consuming everything you had to offer him. Your flavor coating his tongue made his stomach tight in delight, he recognized the addictive sweetness of your scent. Parting your lips with his tongue he penetrated your entrance with his tongue, going straight to the source. You screamed and he had to hold your hips so you wouldn’t pull away. He couldn’t let you go! Not now! Not ever!
Once he was satisfied he replaced his tongue with his fingers, pumping two digits in and out of your soaking entrance. His tongue looked for your clit and swirled around it, sucking at times and flicking at others. His reward were your screams, moans and sighs of pleasure. They were only for him and no one else.
“T… Toru… I’m gonna come”
“Come for me princess, give me all of you my love” Satoru asked quickly before his mouth returned to your slit and his thumb took care of the bundle of nerves at the top.
You screamed, arching your back when your orgasm washed over your body and completely overwhelmed your senses. Taking his time to taste and swallow your juices Satoru finally emerged from between your legs. Your eyes darkened with a desired that matched his.
Your arms inviting him to come closer encouraged him to lay on top of you after wiping his chin with his hands. Long legs surrounded his waist while you looked in each other’s eyes. “I love you…” he said at the same time he slid his cock inside you, slowly until he was fully sheathed and his balls slapped your ass, making you scream his name.
Satoru was not a small man by any means, taking all of his impressive length at once would have been impossible had he not prepared you beforehand. He knew it, so he moved slowly at the beginning, allowing you some time to adjust while he whispered sweet nothings on your ear.
The moment your legs pulled him closer and deeper he knew you were ready. Without a word he rocked his hips, retracting all the way until only the tip was left inside before he went all the way back in making you body jolt.
The rhythm was slow and purposeful at the beginning but as the minutes went by, the both of you became hungrier, more demanding, more… needy. Your hips met his thrust by thrust. The slapping of your skins intensified as did the moans.
Your tight and hot walls squeezed his cock so deliciously the man was having a tough time not behaving like an animal and rutting you through the mattress like a beast in heat. He wanted to show you he loved you.
He held both your hands in his, pushing them against the bed at both sides of your head. Looking into your eyes he moved deeper “I love you…” he said again and you couldn’t help but feel how the tears escaped your eyes “I love you too…” you admitted in a tiny voice that could barely be considered a whisper.
Satoru eliminated the distance between you both and kissed you, pouring his heart in that action. Your climax was close, he knew this so he angled his hips to continue pummeling your sweet spot while he drove you over the edge.
You came around his thick cock, your walls tightening around his member as if they never wanted go let go “I’m gonna come princess” he moaned and then with a few hard thrusts he spilled himself inside you, painting your walls with his cum.
Your worn out, sweaty bodies stayed still. Trying to recover. Satoru refused to remove himself from inside you.. Not yet, he wanted to savor this moment, the intimacy and the love he felt.
You didn’t protest, instead you did what you used to do back when you both were still together. Cradling his head between your breasts you stroked his hair, lulling you both to sleep.
Your last coherent though before sleep claimed you being… That once again… you fell for it.
Guilt settled in.

mafia!ateez public sex
💌. This is: requested
TW: smut, smut and my terrible hand at writing smut
Hongjoong:
“Such a good girl for oppa” he whispers. Pussy twitching in anticipation, your head falls back with a cry and you close your eyes. His hands now snaking under the edge of your panties, and a moment later his fingers are deep inside you. The family ring that sits on his middle finger effortlessly slipping inside your folds. You can feel his hard on poking on your lower waist, the ring slides against the tightness of your pussy walls, making you go crazy for the bliss that comes after every brush of the ring.
You hold on to his knees as he dips into you deeper, getting closer and closer to your soul with every swipe of his index, middle and ring fingers. You can feel the thickening of you orgasm through your whole body, and it peaks on his fingers as you know you’re about to come.
And as you do, your mouth parts slightly open, letting our a flirtatious moan as your body shudders, the car slightly moving up and down with your action as thick cum sipping out of your sweet entrance.
Seonghwa:
He eyed your thighs as wondered what would it feel it to be squished between them. Licking his lower lip, he always loved it when you wear your uniform. Taking a hold on your wrist, he drags you to the farthest area of his own library room, helping you sit on top of the table and parting your legs like he’s going to read you like a book. He slowly leans in, the raw scent of your pussy driving him insane, taking your underwear off and tossing it on the floor, he takes a long lick on your clit before parting your folds and sticking his tongue inside your entrance.
He licks up your juices, moving his tongue up your clit and across to tease your nub while slipping it back and forth, running his tongue through your folds until his tongue once again pushing into your opening. Taking a hold on your hips, his tongue thrusting into your entrance with an erotic rhythm. Alternating between slow and fast, taking his time enjoying the warmth of your entrance, slowly pulling out and pushing back. The room is filled with your pants and loud moans, teasingly you squished his face between your thighs, Seonghwa letting out a low groan. You felt your legs almost tingling, yanking his hair in your hands.
Gently, he lets you release. His face covered with saliva and cum. He slowly stood up and captured your lips with his in a kiss, tasting yourself through his lips as his hands slowly caress your thighs.
Yunho:
You decided to visit Yunho in his office at night. However, you were met with a very horny man who was frustrated with what is happening to his current drug deals. Being the best girlfriend and soon-to-be wife you are, you decided to help him get his release. Sitting on top of his work desk, you lifted your legs up and parted them, giving him a good view of your wet cunt. He didn’t hesitate anymore, unbuckling his belt and removing his pants, he moves your underwear aside, teasingly slipping the head in and out before burying his whole cock inside your entrance.
Pushing and pulling himself in out of your entrance, he took a hold on the back of your thighs and parted them further. “Mmmm I’ve missed that” he groans, arching your back to give him better access to your tight opening. “Come inside me” you panted. And that was enough to drive him into thrusting full and fast, driving his thick cock all the way in. “More,” he growled as he began pounding your pussy. You pussy, warm and supple, so damn tight that it was squeezing and rubbing him like a blind lover. Your cheeks starting to get hurt from the friction with the wooden table, but his cock wasn’t stopping. He just kept ramming it, feeling his balls on your pussy. Groaning and grunting with each thrust, you let out a cry as you coat his cock with his and your cum.
Yeosang:
He was stressed at how he was unable to unlock the codes and signals that their enemies built up. Typing fastly into his computer until he finally receives the message he so long waited for. System unlocked. It was until you entered his room and told him to take a break. You innocently sat on top of his lap, wrapping your arms around his nape, his arms around your frame and asks for a few minutes before he would take a break.
You felt something hard poke through your thin covered panties, unconsciously moving your hips on top of his erection. Slowly, Yeosang leaned away from the hug and ripped your underwear from the side. His fingers slowly moving up and down your slit, holding his eyes locked on your face. Slightly sitting up and unbuckling his pants, his cock springing free from his boxers. Your pussy now soaked and with you extremely horny, slowly you sat down and slipped his cock inside your entrance. His hips thrusting upwards and slipping his cock deeper into you. You moaned as your body stretched to accomodate his girth, Yeosang has an good average but thick cock, and you tried to increase your pace to match his.
It was not long before you felt his cock go even deeper, further increasing his speed. Feeling a fullness inside your entrance with his rock solid cock. He cups your cheeks leaning your face down to him and capturing your lips in a kiss before shoving his tongue inside your mouth. Finally tasting him after weeks of not being together. He’s thrusting into you deeper with every thrust, hitting your g-spot and your thighs wrapped around him. After a few power thrusts, you came together, mixing his cum with yours inside your entrance. He pulls you in once more only to kiss you sweetly this time.
San:
He isn’t yours to begin with. You had caught the eye of your sister’s husband and it brought you the feelings of guilt and mischief. For today’s luncheon with your family and San, you decided to wear the fittest pants you owned, accentuating the shape of your ass perfectly. Upon arriving at the hotel, you were surprised to see that it was only you and San in the dining hall. You found your name tag placed besides San on the end of the table, and instead of walking and pulling your chair from behind, you muttered an ‘excuse me’ to him as he has his legs stretched out. Crossing over San, you felt a hand cup your cheek. And as you glanced at him from behind, you noticed how he has his face close to your ass.
“I didn’t know that they would be serving desserts first.” He chuckles darkly, now both of his hands are massaging your cheeks, you bit your lip and a soft moan escapes your lips. His hands snaking aroung your waist from behind as he zips down and pulls your pants away. “Not even wearing an underwear too” caressing your right cheek and bringing his hand down, softly caressing it afterwards. Without any warning, you felt your cheeks spread apart and his mouth latching on your pussy entrance. Letting out a loud moan, you’ve never felt so hot and wet before.
With his middle and ring finger inside your vagina, his lips were on your clit - sucking, licking and cleaning your juices with his tongue, pressing the fold between his teeth. You let out a passionate moan as you ride San’s face. Upon reaching your orgasm, it left your pussy numb but a satisfied San licking your cum like it was ice cream.
Mingi:
His hands snaked up to your breasts, fondling and gripping them harshly while tweaking your nipples, his tongue lapped around your folds and your legs placed on top of his shoulders. Your jerked and shuddered with each thrust of his tongue, your hands tugging on his hair harshly as you feel yourself cumming for the sixth time.
Clinging onto Mingi tightly while he rubs you clit, slurping and licking your folds until he welcomes your cum inside his mouth. The thrill of the sixth orgasm flows into him, letting out a loud growl before claiming your lips in his, kissing passionately yet torridly. Enough to leave love marks on your lips.
“You know that good boys get a treat when they behave, right baby boy?” you smiled as he limps his naked body on top of yours, holding each other for comfort while catching breaths.
“Yes mommy”
Wooyoung:
What was supposed to be a wholesome picnic at the garden of his mansion quickly escalated. Wooyoung, now resting his back on the trunk of tree, and you kneeling between his legs, pulling his pants down to his ankles, palming his hard on through the fabric of his boxers before pulling it down, your eyes sparkling at the sight of his erect cock. He took a hold of his cock, swiping the head around your lips and slapping it across your cheek before shoving it inside your mouth.
“My baby’s mouth is so warm” He moans loudly, hands brushing the hair off your face before thrusting his hips inside your mouth harshly. He pushes his cock deeper in your mouth, in which you gladly accepted like a hungry madman. With his fingers tangled on your hair, he kept pushing his cock further into your mouth like he was feeding you. Surprisingly, he came quick inside your mouth.
Wooyoung made another loud moan as he watches you erotically swallow his load inside your mouth.
Jongho:
He has a placed on top of your mouth, covering it as he wouldn’t let a single sound elicit out ouf your lips while a meeting - his meeting that he called for  - while railing from behind. The lewd sounds of skin slapping and grunting turned the both of you so much. His free hand going from holding on your hips and rubbing your clit to add more pleasure.
“I wish you could see how much your pussy sucking my cock” he could still hear the voices of the board of directors and associates discussing the next possible trade and import of the products and who they are gonna dispatch for the job. Jongho picks up his pace, hitting your g spot until you release your high together. Before going back to his meeting, he took his time cleaning you up and setting you on the couch of his office, placing a blanket on your body and a kiss on your forehead before going back to his meeting.

Okay, this one’s been done already by other blogs and I understand that not every writer wants to do the same prompt as another so if you’re not comfortable with this then absolutely stay in your comfy zone. I just think it’s fun to see different interpretations
But basically, Civilian is unknowingly dating Villain (as in, Civilian doesn’t know that villain is a criminal), and Villain is introduced to Civilian’s brother, Hero. Hero is terrified that Villain is going to hurt Civilian the entire time, but Villain just keeps on showing lots of sweet affection to Civilian (Hero and Villain recognize each other but Civilian is clueless of both their “jobs”). It’s up to you whether or not Villain actually loves Civilian or is just taunting/threatening Hero :)
Wow that was long my bad
Sorry this took me like twelve years to get to... @glowing-alpaca it won’t let me tag you... idk why🤷🏽‍♀️
Ok yes I’ve seen a few of these, so I took the general principle and made it Civilian’s POV eehehehe
hope you enjoy:)
*special thanks to @im-a-wonderling and @watercolorfreckles for the beta reads and all your amazing help on this one!!*
———————————————
Civilian shifted from foot to foot, rubbing her left wrist as she tried to focus on the conversation swirling around her. Her limbs felt lead-heavy and numb, deadweights that she wasn’t sure what to do with.
She clasped her hands together in front of her, then let them hang by her sides. Then clasped them in front of her again.
Her breathing felt loud in her ears, and a few of the patrons glanced in her direction. Could they hear her breathing?
Her eyes darted to the entrance for the hundredth time. Her brother was late. Hero had promised to be here early—he knew how she felt about crowds. And since he was the one who insisted her first art show be public, he’d reassured her he’d stay by her side the whole time.
The show had started over an hour ago.
“Well, Civilian?”
Her eyes snapped away from the door and back to the circle of patrons around her. Her stomach sloshed cold. They were all looking at her, their stares burning holes.
“Sorry? What was that?” Her stomach continued to twist and writhe. Now they all knew she’d been distracted.
Did they think she was ignoring them? Had she been rude?
She’d only glanced at the door for a moment…
An older man shook his head as his companion repeated her question about her choice to use different mediums to portray the same image.
She answered the best she could, gesturing to the wall beside her, which was filled with a dozen paintings and drawings of the cityscape—some created with ink, other with oil, acrylic, watercolor, or charcoal—she’d used them all.
She rubbed her wrist again as she tried to explain how she’d used the different mediums.
A few in the circle nodded their heads, but her heart was pounding and doubt nagged at her as she spoke. Was she talking too much? Not enough? Was what she was saying stupid?
She stumbled over her words, unease crawling beneath her skin.
She looked down, unable to complete her thought.
“I think it’s a marvelous technique.”
Hero looked up sharply as the deep voice continued, covering the awkward pause she’d created.
“...to get to look at a wall full of paintings, all capturing the same image but each conveying a different mood or emotion.”
Her rescuer was sharply dressed: his dark hair carefully styled, his suit perfectly tailored, and his gold watch designer. Combined with his confident posture, his appearance practically screamed “lawyer,” same as her brother. But while Hero was a public defense attorney, crusading against a flawed system, the man in front of her was probably what Hero would call a ‘leech,’ a rich defense lawyer catering to the criminal elite.
And while Civilian sympathized with Hero’s cause, she also had enough experience as a starving artist to appreciate the luxury of not having to worry about how much money she had to spend at the grocery store.
Plus, he’d been so kind to save her; how bad could he be?
Her rescuer was still speaking, his smooth words and confident tone confirming his profession.
“... the kind of art that needs to be seen and studied to be appreciated.”
At his hint, the crowd began to drift towards the gallery walls.
Her rescuer met her gaze through the crowd, and she offered him a small smile of gratitude as the people around her shifted away.
She turned towards the wall of cityscape paintings, breathing a sigh of relief before stopping to analyze one of the city in the rain. She eyed the brushstrokes, mentally smoothing a line here, adding a shadow there. She shook her head and turned away. Now was not the time.
But her rather abrupt turn sent her careening into a wall-like something that wasn’t a wall, but a certain tall lawyer in a thousand-dollar Armani suit. She jerked back, horrified at her lack of grace, but tripped on her blasted heels. Hands at her waist stopped her fall, long fingers tightening around her as she regained her balance. When she was finally steady, his hands slid away.
“Thanks.” Civilian forced herself to look up into the face of the man who had now rescued her twice, rather than looking around like she wanted to to check who else had noticed her embarrassing almost-fall.
He was smiling warmly, and for the first time all night, her heart wasn’t pounding at the thought of speaking with a stranger.
“I’m sorry for running into you.” She felt breathless, but it must have been from her almost-fall.
He waved her off. “I shouldn’t have been standing so close. I just wanted to compliment the way you’ve captured my favorite view of the city.” He gestured to the painting she’d just been critiquing.
“I painted it at the top of the—“
“Capitol building, yes I go there often.”
“Because you work there often?” Civilian flushed as she spoke across him, but her heart steadied as he didn’t seem to mind. His smile widened, and he leaned closer.
“What gave me away?” His voice was deep, and he looked at her as though they were sharing a secret.
Her cheeks grew warmer, and she looked away, heart racing for an entirely different reason.
“My brother is a lawyer, so I usually can just tell. He was supposed to be here actually…” a frown came to her face as she remembered her brother’s promise.
She shook herself out of her reverie. Her rescuer was looking at her warmly.
“I’m sorry! You rescued me back there, and I don’t even know your name…” She looked at him expectantly, and he offered a bright smile that made her stomach flutter.
“I’m Villain. Pleased to meet you.” His voice was practically a purr, sending tingles across her skin as he took her hand, gently raising it to his lips. She looked down as her cheeks heated at the old fashioned gesture.
“I’m Civilian,” she said as he released her hand, returning his bright smile with a shy one of her own. “Although you probably already knew that since my name is on the program...”
He nodded. “I have to say, I’m quite impressed by your—”
“Civilian!”
A blur in a tan suit darted around Villain and grabbed her arm, pulling her back.
“Hero, what?—” Her brother was a mess. His suit was wrinkled, tie coming undone, hair mussed.
He continued to pull her back, eyes on Villain. “Civilian I need to talk to you—it’s urgent!”
She glanced back at Villain as Hero tugged her away.
“Sorry!” She mouthed.
He just shook his head, an amused smile on his face, before mouthing something that looked suspiciously like, “I’ll see you later.”
Her heart warmed, and she was still grinning when Hero pulled her around the corner and flipped her around to face him.
“What are you—”
“Do you have any idea who that is?” Hero’s fingers gripped her shoulders. “What he is?”
“He said his name was Villain? And so what that he’s a lawyer, Hero. I don’t get why you are freaking out!”
Hero’s hands shook her shoulders. “He’s not just a lawyer, he—”
Civilian wrenched free and shoved Hero’s chest. “He what? Actually helped me? When YOU failed to show up like you promised.” Her last words slid into a growl.
Hero had the decency to look ashamed for a brief moment before his face hardened. He lifted a hand, gesturing with one arm back towards where they’d left Villain. “His people are the reason that I’m late!”
Anger sparked in her chest, and she rolled her eyes. “Sure,” she scoffed, “blame some random lawyer for your broken promise. That’s a pitiful excuse, Hero, even for you.”
She shoved past him, heading back into the gallery.
“Wait, Sis!” He grabbed her arm. She shook him off and stalked away.
But when she returned to the main room, Villain was gone.

If this makes your uncomfortable
PLEASE DO NOT READ.
A/N- hange has no confirmed gender. I used the pronouns she & they. But mostly she.
Hange // Shower talk
“Have you made your mind up my dear?”
Hange sits next to the window, on a seating cushion, clenching her luke warm coffee mug, that had “I ❤️ Titans ” written across in black cursive writing. Her rings tapping the side, glancing out the window watching raindrops race with each other. “I’m contemplating if we should, it’s always been on my bucket list.” you rub your hair in distress, searching in the refrigerator for some water. Hoping their maturity would cope so they could get an understanding.“Ive never done it with my previous relationships.”
Hange loudly cackles at you with no shame. You felt mocked & embarrassed, even though she meant no harm. Sometimes they can play extremely too much. Although,Hange was always down for anything. As long as you were comfortable they was fine with it. Hange was amazed that you had to ask or suggest about it. Usually one of you would take control over the other.
“Y/N as long as we’ve been together you’ve never TALKED to ME about doing anything in the shower.” She resume to cackle, shedding multiple tears. But in actuality she was extremely jealous. The look in their eyes was a look of disturbance and she acting nonchalant about it was hilarious. She was always an open person to new conversations and disliked when you hid anything from her. “This is why I don’t talk to you about shit like this.” Taking a drink out of your water bottle leaning on the kitchen counter facing her.
“Don’t be like that, I was just joking.”
Her nostrils flared in and out, anxiously fiddled with her rings. Her exhales got louder and noticeable. Trying your best not to laugh, she gets up from her seat, standing in the middle of the room. With her hands tucked in her pants pockets staring at you. Leaving her mug near the window,“If we’re gonna do it my darling, we have to do it before noon, Levi and Erwin are coming over.”
“For?” you swish the water bottle around. You’ve told hange many times about inviting people over without you knowing. Especially if you were going to do stuff like this before hand. “Some amazing Studies,I can’t wait to show them” “The time is already 11:27am.”Hange wandered behide you, smacking your ass. You jump up to the stinging of the slap, it was sensational. It was that good type of pain. “Go ahead and get in the shower while we still have time.” Walking away you could feel her sneering smile pasted on your back. The worst part, you guilt tripped your way to the bathroom, closing the door. Turning on the shower water & adjusting it to mildly hot. You strip naked, beginning to shower. After several minutes have passed. Hange knocked on the door, “Are you ready my dear?”
“Yea I’m ready.”
Hange swings the bathroom door open, and gets settled. Removing her rings, & her glasses putting on the bathroom counter. She undresses herself, joining you.
With the shower water hitting your stomach, hange starts massaging your neck. Moving her thumbs in a circular motion feeling you flench when she massages a certain spot.
“It’s this knot in your neck that I really wanna get … I can feel it.” You rotate your neck around so she could get rid of the consistent pain you’ve been having for the past week. She stops, turning you around facing her, caressing your breasts. She squeezes them watching them bounce. Squishing them together. Flicking your nipples, watching them get hard.
“Your having a little too much fun hange.”
“Of course! because look at them.” she snickered. “This one is my favorite.” pointing to your left breast. You honestly agree with her. Both of you stare at each other in silence.
“I wanna make this experience memorable.”
She devotedly places and curls her left hand around your neck, using her pointer finger to lift the side of your face up. Backing you against the wall under the shower head. It was gentle, but at the same time sudden. You couldn’t tell if you liked it or not. Hange ponytail fell down due to the water shooting out on her.The bathroom got foggy quickly.
You move your right leg on the shower door balancing on your left.
“I’m glad you know how this goes.” Rubbing their hair back.
She passionately kisses you, intertwining her tongue with yours. Stopping every other few minutes watching the visible saliva connected to both of your tonuges. Hange penetrates two of her right fingers inside of your warm pussy, her movements were like rhythmic waves. Forcing herself up against you, removing her hand away from your neck, gladly rubbing your arm. Sucking & kissing your neck leaving multiple dark hickeys all the way to your lower neck.
You sputter how much you enjoyed it.
“You like that … mhmm”
Her raspy deep humming started a tingling sensation in your lower stomach that you couldn’t resist. Her devious smile, biting her lower lip watching you give in to her madness. You grab her wrist, plunging her fingers deeper inside of you.
“I want m-more.” you entreated.
“I have plenty of fingers … you know that my love?” Hange natural voice echoed in the bathroom like the two of you were in a cave. Just hearing her made you want to excite her more. Her rhythmic finger movements became a more merciless rhythm.
“fuck hange-“ Swallowing felt like a pill was going down your throat. It was scratching the back of your mouth making it hard to talk or even moan. You ride on her fingers, adjusting yourself. Chills scattering all across your back. Sweating profusely.
“You want me fuck you faster? Hm?” she sweetly pointed out. Adding her third finger.
“ h-ang … ha-“ wailing out her name you couldn’t fully say. “H-ang … ha” she teased, “Does it hurt?, Tell me how it feels.” Her fingers matched with her words. You were numb, crying out to hange to stop, eyes rolling in the back of your head. Shaking with every pleasure & pain. Hange dirty-talk was unsuitable.
“Excited!?, hang on a little longer.”
“Damnit, hange-“
“God, I love experimenting with my fingers.”
She adds another finger, pumping faster inside of you. Losing your balance she lifted your leg up to keep you focused. You were high off sex you wanted every bit of it. Your swollen clit couldn’t handle her sex talk anymore. “Shit” you panted. Hange exits your pussy, watching your body fluids slosh on the shower floor. She rewards you with many kisses on the side of your neck.
“Good girl.”
She turns off shower,
“I hope you enjoyed yourself.”Tossing a towel on her head. The doorbell rings, “damn already noon?”
“Mhm, I’ll ask them if they wanna do a foursome.” Hange laughs, skipping out bathroom into her bedroom to put on some clothes.
“I hope so.”

Hints of something more

Albedo x fem!reader
Warning: Slight suggestive language at the end.
Word count: 2k7
Summary: Apparently, visiting Albedo in Dragonspine has somehow opened a new door to your vague, no-label relationship. And Kaeya won’t stop teasing you about it.
Before leaving for Dragonspine two days ago, Albedo told you to bring him some canvas, a few pencils and a paint set of watercolour. However, he failed to mention which brand and type of watercolour he wants you to bring. Is it a set of 24 colours? 48 colours or the 12 colours set? Furrow your eyebrows, you stared questioningly at the shelves, hesitating to pick one up. Knowing how picky Albedo is if it is not up to his standard. The man would refuse to touch the paint.
What would he choose usually? You can’t seem to recall his watercolour preference. Funny how it is, he usually encourages you to follow your instinct. Human instinct is the best to study. He would say something like this out of nowhere. Sometimes they make a really questionable decision that I can’t decipher. Definitely one of his catch-on phrase.
Drilling holes on the shelves for too long is not the solution, so you finally choose the most expensive set of 48 watercolours in the store. You cross your fingers and hope that he doesn’t question your choice. There it goes for half of my salary. Far away, you can faintly see the outline of the money fairy waving at you, flying toward Celestia. I hope he will like this one.
Packing up the last few things inside your backpack, you prepare for the adventure to the Dragonspine to meet with the chalk prince. The bright sun on the blue canvas is almost halfway to the top. The weather would be lovely for a small picnic, too good to waste over climbing to Dragonspine. Dragging your body toward the front gate, you lazily hope to hitch someone carriage. It would be best to start early than arriving at the lab late.
The journey takes an hour by feet to walk from the city to the foot of Dragonspine and then takes another 2 hours to walk to Albedo’s lab on the mountain. It would be much faster if you can actually have combat fighting skill to head-on with the cryo mitachurl, but life is much a sadder reality. You don’t have a vision nor a combat skill to solo a whole camp of hilichurl. However, with your brain and your gifted survival (escaping) instinct, dodging a few camps and distracting a few of them isn’t very hard.
The weather in Dragonspine is much better than what you anticipated. The sky deep and clear, the veil of fog has thinned enough. The air is crisp, mist rises and slowly dissipates after each exhales. The sheer cold is as brutal and sharp knife-like as usual. You can’t understand how Albedo loves the weather in this place enough to set up a lab in here. A summer person like you refuses to set foot in this area unless for commissions and Albedo’s related purpose. Hnng, you are starting to regret coming here.
There are a few more camps of hilichurl than usual on your way to the mountain, so you decide to take the longer route. At least meeting with a few Fatui is much more comforting than getting hit by an ice mitachurl shield.
By the time you get to the camp, the sun is standing proudly on the top. You get here an hour late, and much to your dismay, Albedo wasn’t in his lab. He is going out to look for more sample again. Heaving exhaustingly, you drop the heavy backpack thud on the ground. Scampering over the fire, you let out a satisfying at the charing fire. A pyro vision would be convenient to have in this weather.
With the sound of wood cracking under the desiring heat, the frost bearing breeze slowly finds its way into the camp, cooling the scorching radiation from the glowing fire. Warmth slowly crawls and sinks in on your dry skin, soothing the icy air. Exhausted, your eyelids slowly pull themselves over, threaten to extinguish your consciousness. A nap wouldn’t hurt anyone, right? You let out a long yawn, curl into a fetal position and use the bag as a pillow. Darkness comes within a second.
 _____________________________________________________________
You are woken up by the warmth on the hand caressing your cheek, running through your hair. The familiar smooth hand resting on your face doesn’t know you have woken up, the thumb fiddling with your soft skin. Nuzzle lovingly at the palm, you let out sigh contentment. The hand is big enough, gently and carefully tracing your face outline like it’s treasuring a gift. This familiar feeling tickles you like a feather.
Groggily, you peel your eyes open and greet with a stunning sight. Albedo is sitting next to you, the fluffy blond hair softly falls on the cheek, some being tucked under his ears. The teal eyes focus intently on the notebook in front of him, glimmering with interest and dedication, his long lashes fluttering like a butterfly wing on a flower petal. The golden diamond on his neck glimmers faintly under the flicker of light, stand out on his creamy white skin. His warm slender fingers still lightly touch your hair soothingly make you feel so relaxing. Letting out a satisfying purr, you press your plump lips on his wrist, successfully gets Albedo attention.
“ How long have you been up?” His soothing voice has never failed to calm your nerve. You yearn up a little bit, trying to peek at the notebook on his lap. It’s so far away, you can’t catch a glimpse from here.
“ A while.” You hum. “ Long enough to get drunken at your handsome features.”
His eyes widen a little bit, not expecting that coming out from your mouth.
At the corner of his eyes, he catches your cheeky grin. Beaming widely at him, you internally cringing at your cheesy remark. You don’t even know what gives you the courage to slip the embarrassing words.
Albedo smirks at your blatant flirt, his reaction opposite what you look for. He returns his attention back to the notebook. His eyes still remains a hint of amusement. You want to dig a hole and jump in it.
Slowly rise up, you rub your eyes tiredly, and notice Albedo’s coat on your body. Did he put it on you? You glance at him curiously, trying to seek an explanation, but he remains quiet, focuses on the piece of paper. The sound of pencil rustling on the parchment eases you somehow, like waking up in a small cottage with your loved one.
“ What time is it? ” You let out a big yawn, voice thicks with sleep. His light coat somehow is warm. Maybe you should ask him where he got this.
“ It’s around 3.” Albedo mindlessly points out. “ You can sleep more. Put my coat on if you're cold.” He reminds.
“ I shouldn’t be sleeping longer. Let me help with your work so I can get back to Mondstadt on time.” You scratch your head, your body is numbing over the sheer cold. Throw on Albedo coat, you hope the thin layer can keep you warm a little bit longer. His coat smells like frost and Cecilia. Inside the pocket, you find a heating pack. Maybe this is what kept you warm when you were sleeping.
“ M almost finished.” The sound of paper rustling each time he turns a page. “I can accompany you back to the city.”
“ But I haven’t done anything?” You furrow your eyebrows in confusion, hands folding at your chest, trying to saviour some warmth. “You’re sure you finished?”
“ Yes, just a few more retouches, then we can go back.” Albedo nods, his eyes still glued on the piece of paper. Abruptly, he stops and looks up at you, waving his hand, signalling you to get closer. Obediently, you walk toward him. When you are an arm-length from him, the man gestures at the chair put closely next to him. He wants you to sit down?
You sit down quietly, trying to take a look at the drawing he is working on. Hmm, is that you? Did he draw your sleeping form? On the paper is the portrait of you curl like a fetal, your long hair splaying on the floor. Each stroke of pencil depicts the gentleness you have in your face when you are sleeping. The drawing is mundane somehow, you feel comfortable and relax when looking at the piece.
Suddenly, you felt a warm hand slotting in your palm, elbow nudging yours. His slender digits are weaving tightly with your fingers, warmth tingling on the tips of your fingers. . Look up from the drawing, you see a tint of pink on his ears. So he can also get embarrassed.
“ You look cold.” He mumbles, eyes avoiding yours, his cheek flush furiously. “Sit closer.” You gladly shift closer, your hand and shoulder touching his. Albedo picks up the pencil and returns to his drawing. This time he turns to a new page, start to draw another specimen. Looking at the sketch, you guess he is trying to sketch the abandoned ruins. The comfortable silence envelopes the two of you.
Being so close to him, you can make out the whiff of fresh Cecilia and pine. Engulf by his coat and, now next sitting next to him, you are bathing under his signature scent. It would be nice if I could feel him more. Blushing at the thought, you try to push away those not-so-innocent thoughts. Obviously, he is trying to be a gentleman. You should be grateful, if not because of him, you're going to freeze to death.
Albedo is much warmer than you, his body radiating heat like a furnace after a while. Silently, you pick up a book you left here last time on the table. Most of his books are either textbooks or ancient language book about the alchemist, which you think you are qualified enough to read. Waiting for him in silence is a form of torture if you don’t do something. Your attention removes from his body and to the novel on your hand.
After what feels like two hours, Albedo finally puts down his pencil and stretches. His long limb knocks your hand a few times, your knees bump with his. He let out a tired yawn, cracking his knuckles.
“Finished?” Your eyes still glue on the thick book. You hear him let out a hum, his hand remove to clean up the mess on the table.
“ What are you having for dinner?” Albedo casually asks, hand dusting the enormous amount of eraser dust on the paper before dumping them in the trash. His voice wavers a little, but you aren't sure why.
“Hash brown and cream stew. I have a brownie for dessert.” You notice Albedo never makes small conversation like this. He is the type who would get straight to the point or request. Perc up from the book, you are faced with his back at you. He is arranging the bookshelves.
“Do… you want to join me for dinner? ” After it felt like a while, you finally break the silence, your voice laces with uncertainty. If you read the atmosphere wrong, it can cost you quite severely.
“Sure.” He shrugs nonchalantly, continues sorting the stacks of books on the ground. Somehow you can feel the tension in the air is lifted, and he seems more relaxed than before.
“These are some observations and speculations I made in the last few days in here.” The chief alchemist hands you a folder.
You flip through the files, they are mostly pictures and drawing of large camps of hilichurl. At the end of the file is a map marked with their locations. The Abyss Order's activity has increased rapidly in this month. Commissions have been sent out continuously, yet many of them haven’t been sorted out properly yet. It seems like the sheer cold of Dragonspine can't prevent their enthusiasm. On your ways here, you have met 4 more camps, hence the reason why you choose to be acquainted with the Fatui instead.
“I will give this to the Adventurer Guild. Thank you for this.” You exhale, fingers rubbing your eyes tiredly. The next few days are going to be very busy.
“If you are done, then pack up. We are going back.” He announces, returns his attention to pile on the ground. Fold the corner of the page, close the book, prepare the pack-up for the leave. You can’t wait to leave this devastating sheer cold and return back to the realm of fog and wind. Shuffling through your backpack, you put the art supplies Albedo asked you to buy on the table neatly. You didn't take anything out, so no need for packing. Basically, you are done.
 “ Let’s go back.”
 _____________________________________________________________
On the way back, you both walk in silence. Most of the camps are cleared, barrels and boxes shatter into tiny pieces scatter on the ground. Seem like our dear traveller has their job quite well. The place is almost spotless, even with the Fatui camp. You are impressed with their productivity.
It takes less than 2 hours walking back from Dragonspine, now that your bag is lighter. Walking comfortably next to Albedo, your hands grazing past each other a few times. You watch the sunset etches widely on the blushing hues orange sky in Dragonspine can be so romantic.
Suddenly feeling so motivated, you gently slip your index into his palm. Albedo freezes but still complies, his fingers caught your hand, slowly interlocking yours. Your heart thumps loudly in your chest, heating creeping up your cheek. Shutting your eyes, you mumble incoherently something about how unfair life is.
He let out a breathy snicker, with your fingers interlock, sharing the heat in the harsh weather. Look up the fading orange, slowly disappear behind the layer of thick snow, you blow out warm air, fog gathers and dissipates in the air. Sunset in Dragonspine can be arguably one of the best scenes in Mondstadt.
“I’m going back to my office to put this away.” When you arrive at the gate, Albedo decides to head to the HQ of the Knight of Favonius. He motions at the package in his hand.
“ See you later at dinner.” Nonchalantly, he plants a kiss on your cheek, hand ruffles your hair a little bit before head off in the opposite direction.
You stand there, still trying to comprehend what just happened a few seconds ago. The peck on your cheek is too short, too light, like feather brushes. He can’t do this to you. Your cheek is blazing with fire, and if not careful, a spark can ignite an explosion right here. You turn your head sideways, trying to saviour and recall the feeling of his lips.
“ Tch tch.” The sound is coming from the nearby alley, the click-clack of boots coming closer. You whirl your head toward that direction, just to realize the source of the sound is all-mighty Calvary Captain of the Knight of Favonius.
“ Love is really in the air.” He comments sarcastic, hand waving around to shoo away those imaginable ‘love’.
“ Living this long, I have never thought I would be able to see our Alchemist Chief giving someone a goodbye kiss.” Kaeya smugs at you, his deep blue eyes gleaming with mischief. Oh, you really can't wait to wipe his shit-eating grin off his face.
“Stop being a drama queen, Kaeya.” You shot back. “ He gave Klee one too, don’t treat this as such an abnormal supernatural act.” Internally, you have to say that Albedo giving affection is kind of a supernatural incident too. Kaeya eyes at you like you grow another head, shaking his head.
“ You know what I meant.” The captain shrugs, his voice ringing with a hint of smugness.
The man suddenly walks closer, his gloved hand pats your shoulder, squeezing it lightly. “Must have been really cold in Dragonspine for him to give you his coat.” He winks at you, his eyes slowly drag down your figure. You cautiously look down. Shit, you totally forget this.
“We have a meeting at 8 tomorrow at the HQ. Please tell him to not stay up too late.” The cryo user whistles teasingly, heading toward Angel Share, his hand waving in the air. Your face flushes furiously, smoke almost come off your burning face. Now you realize why people have been giving your pointed gazes when you first enter the gate. Damn it, Kaeya, it is not what you think it is.

To Build a Home
Tumblr media
A/N: I started this at 11pm 7/3 my time so it probably won’t go up on his actual bday but... happy birthday yuutaaaaaaa :excitedmeow:
Pairing: Okkotsu Yuuta x f!reader
Description: He had been gone from home for far too long and he realised he couldn’t stand leaving you all by yourself anymore
Warning: pwp written by someone who is tired out of their minds, breeding talk, vaginal penetration, creampie, fingering
Word count: 2215
-
Okkotsu Yuuta did not approach you immediately when he realised you hadn’t noticed him yet. The tightness in his chest suffocated him as he leaned on the doorframe of the kitchen where the crisp noises of chopping seeped into his ear, the tiredness he had not pick up in his body suddenly collapsing on him in full force when he was finally back at the comfort of his home.
And you were there, with your back towards him, humming some sort of tune he was sure he knew but couldn’t think of the name just now. Yuuta had experienced a long period of time being away from home and from everyone he knew, but it had only gotten harder to stomach now that he knew there was someone waiting for him to come home.
He thought of you often when he got sent away on a mission far too long for his liking. In his dreams, in his wake. Waiting to hear your voice from the other end of every call became the one thing that kept him going as the weight of his sword got heavier and heavier with each night he spent alone. Yet, the silence and void in his head were always the most obvious the moment his temporary moment of joy ended and he was left with nothing but your phantom voice in his ear.
But he was back now, he had missed you so badly.
His eyes first landed on your exposed neck, the beautiful arch of where it connected to your spine catching his stare with your head dipped down. You shifted your weight from feet to feet with the rhythm of the song you were humming, swaying your hips gently to the beat. Your hands never stopped, the sharp knife landing on the chopping board neatly with each push and lift of your arm.
It was a sight he would never get tired of, and he almost felt like he did not want to disturb the peacefulness for a split moment.
You squealed in shock when you felt the sudden tightness around your frame, the knife landing on the counter with a clang. Your heart skipped a beat until the beating steadied as the blankness in your head faded, being filled with the gentle breaths behind your back instead.
“Yuuta!” you twisted back, eyes widened in delight. Your husband buried his face at the crook of your neck, biting back a sigh from the way you said his name. It had been long since he last held you in his arms like that, it almost gave him the same rush as it did the first time he ever held your hand.
Gingerly and blushing like a fool, yet you still looked at him like he was the most charming person in the world.
Your body was warm under his hand as you pulled him down for a kiss you had both been waiting for far too long. His lips were a bit chapped, slightly paler than always and you saw the bags under his eyes when he pulled away. You wanted to say something but he did not give you the time to, closing the gap between you once more before you could even make a sound.
Eyes shut as he pressed his forehead against yours, he finally let out the heavy breath he had been holding in.
“I miss you...”
“I miss you too,” you whispered, the warm exhales fanning against his lips with each sound that rolled off your tongue. You leaned closer, letting the tip of your nose touch, “so much,” and then a lingering kiss on the arch of his cupid’s bow, tugging at the softness when you pull away, “so so much...”
He held you closer against his chest, one arm around your waist and the other holding onto your shoulder. Each dent and swell of your body fitted against his perfectly like you were moulded after each other. Yuuta allowed himself to greedily inhale more of your scent, the faint whiff of your shampoo tickling at his senses.
It had been a while since you shared the same scent.
“Yuuta...” you protested weakly when his large hand trailed down from the front of your chest until it stopped at the swell against your shirt. He did not budge when you gave a useless wiggle of your shoulder, his much firmer form pressed up tightly on your back. “I was cooking...”
He mumbled something inaudible against your neck before his hand groped at the softness of your chest. You whimpered when he kneaded the flesh, pushing yourself back against him as your hand went to grip at his wrist for leverage. Your knees threatened to buck when his tongue traced along the pulse at the side of your neck, leaving a wet trail on the patch of skin. Your head rolled back, laying on him as a firm palm covered your lower stomach.
“I had been thinking,” he murmured, his finger hooking under the elastic of your shorts, “about how lonely you must be, all alone in this house whenever I got sent away.”
You squirmed when you felt a hardness poking at your behind, your face heating up at his voice in your ear and the chills on your arm when he rubbed your nipple with his hand fondling you above your shirt. The warmth that was just on your stomach was inching lower and lower until you let out a lewd whimper when his hand cupped your clothed sex.
You shivered when you felt the warm huff of his breath at your earlobe, feeling the electrifying numbs shooting down your spine as his fingers rubbed against the dampened spot on your underwear.
“Wouldn’t it be nice to have a tiny one keeping you company while I’m gone?”
“Yu- hm!” your voice came out as a broken moan when he pushed your panties to the side. His finger brushed against the wet slit, back and forth until he could feel your leaking juices gathering at the pad of his middle finger.
“Yeah?” he asked like you had just given him a reply, biting the soft swell of your ear as he hoisted you up on his arm, “you’d like that, right? You’re so wet already...”
Your nails dug into his arm when he plunged a finger into your cunt, throwing your head back at the burn that elicited where he brushed past. You had touched yourself while he was gone, with and without him. But your fingers or any toy could not even go near to the effect he was having on you. You felt another rush of heat rushing to your core when he buried his finger in you until his knuckle was touching your folds, his other hand working to push down your pants altogether.
He worked his way with you patiently, cooing and muttering about how he kept thinking about giving you a baby when he was away from you as he stretched you out with his finger. He was all pressed up on your bare ass, the friction of your cheeks against his cock making him harder by the second. He had stolen a glance at the beautiful curve of your hips, the way your hip bone jutted at before blending into the plush swell that would fit perfectly under his grip.
Your joints hurt from how hard you were gripping down on him, your jaw slack and lips parted as his name slurred off your tongue. He kissed the blade of your shoulder when he crooked his finger inside of you, earning him a buck of your knees. He chuckled at your reaction as he caught you with his hand on your stomach, the thought of this being where your child would be after he was done with you sending a flush of heat down his veins. A shaky whine slipped past your lips when he gave a few more pumps before pulling out of you. The warmth that had wrapped you up fading as he took a step backwards.
The sound of zippers coming undone was far too similar in your brain, sending anticipation down your core at what he said he would do. You bent down, planting your face against the kitchen counter as you pushed your ass back. He groaned at the gesture, his throat bobbing as he gulped when you parted your cheek with a hand digging into the flesh.
He nearly lost control at the sight of you presenting yourself to his eyes. “Please Yuuta,” your hole spasmed around nothing as wetness tinted your skin, folds glistening under the warm light of the kitchen as you spread your legs wider, “I want your baby-”
Your voice melted into a whimper when you felt fingers digging into the sides of your ass before a hard tip nudged at your entrance. He slid his cock between your sopping folds, watching as your slick wet his length. He pulled back just slightly, watching the clear bead of pre being spread all over your cunt as he swirled his hips, pushing his tip teasingly against your folds.
The sound that you made when he sunk into you was like music to his ears, honeyed and soft like you were about to melt in his hands. The heat of his hard cock stretching you out almost felt foreign with how long it had been, sending white to your vision and your back arching in reflex.
The first thrust of his hips came with a loud squelch, making your face burn. Yuuta moaned at how easy it was for him to bottom out inside of you, his length coming out of you with a sheen from your wetness before slamming down on you again. He watched with intent as your ass jiggled under his force, the sound of his balls slapping against your skin bouncing off the walls.
“I’ll work so hard,” he said, breathily but still unwavering even though you were already out of your breath under his force, “gonna fuck you well so you’re sure to be pregnant by the time I have to leave again...”
You whimpered at the thought of him filling you up every day relentlessly, an animalistic desire to be stuffed fueling the coil in your stomach as he drove up his pace. He was so hot inside of you, the crown of his cock dredging along your walls with each roll of his hips and sending tingles of pleasure down to the bone.
“Yes yes yes-” you weren’t even sure what you were saying, incoherent babbling flowing from your lips as primal lust took over your head. Your eyes shut tight when you creamed yourself on his cock, legs shaking as you pressed your head against the cold marble of the counter you were helplessly holding onto.
Yuuta’s mouth parted in a silent moan when you clamped down on him, his hands shifting downwards to hold you by the root of your thighs and keeping your legs open for him. Wetness dripped down from where your bodies were connected, the sight basically begging him to keep on and don’t stop.
He pulled you up so that your back was flush against his chest, “I can’t wait to see how you would look with your tummy swelled up.”
You could feel the vibration of each word, hitting you in full force as his thrusts got sloppier and more frantic. A kiss to your forehead had you soft like putty in his hands, your body collapsing on his as he held you still in his arms. You felt a shudder of his hips when he shot his load inside of you, your mouth parting into an “o” as spurts of thick cum coated your insides. It left a warm blaze in your system, together with the lingering heat of where his fingers were digging into your skin.
He gave a few humps to ride out the high, making you whimper weakly before he pulled out of you. The spasming of your sensitive walls pushed the beads of white out of your hole and the mixture threatened to drip down your legs.
“Yuuta...” you purred, trying to push yourself off the counter with your palms and latching onto him. He caught you in his arms immediately and with your chest against his, you realised this was the first time you had looked at him properly since he came back. Smiling lazily when he held your hands that had gone up to cup his cheek, you buried your face in his chest and closed your eyes, allowing yourself to drown in his comforting presence.
The arm that was snaked around your back shifted, and you giggled when he bent down to tuck it below your hips before lifting you up with ease. “What are you doing?” you asked, wrapping your arms around your neck.
‘Your Yuuta,’ you wanted to coo, toying with the hair at the nape of his neck.
He smiled, the one that warms your heart and you had missed, before kissing you square on the lips.
“Taking you to bed,” he darted his tongue out to wet his lips, “I hope you know I mean it when I say I’ll work hard.”

Sam helps you feel better after you lose your temper.

Okay, outing myself a little here in the hopes that it’ll be a comfort to at least one other person. This happens…more often than I would like. I’m working on it.
This came about because of a discussion with @writingawaymylife thanks Aerin!
Read on Ao3
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, are you shitting me!”
You finally lose what little patience you had left and punch the wall. Underneath the cheap wallpaper it’s solid concrete and you instantly regret your feral outburst. There’s a millisecond of nothing before the pain comes rushing in, and then you’re bent double, clutching the wrist of your injured hand with the other and groaning.
You try and flex your fingers to check if they’re broken, but you can’t really tell. It’s too late. Your hand is numb within the minute. Shit, that’s really going to hurt in the morning.
You’re clumsy anyway, it’s the way it’s always been and the way it always will be. You know what you need to do, how you need to move, but your body won’t respond how you want it to. You’re always dropping plates and glasses, smashing them to bits. Usually when you’re already running late, and then you have to waste more time by scurrying around looking for a dustpan to get rid of the evidence.
You’re forever bumping into things, stubbing your toes and taking layers of skin off your shoulders and shins when you walk straight into doorframes. When you try and pour things you spill them more often than not. Yet more mess to clean up, yet more time wasted.
Your fingers just won’t work sometimes, often so badly it takes you multiple attempts to tie your shoes. And when it’s cold you’re practically useless. You just give up and tuck the laces into the shoes, feeling them rub through your socks, promising yourself to fix them once you’re back in the warm, everything will work out as long as you don’t trip over your own feet before you get there.
It’s the most frustrating thing in the world. Normally you can shrug it off, you’re used to it by now. But things had been going wrong all day, even without your clumsiness, and matters just came to a head.
You remember exactly what caused you to erupt into expletives and punch the wall. It had already been a frustrating day, work was a pain in the ass, as usual. All of the most awkward customers in the world had decided to descend upon you right before your break. By the time you got home you were in a pretty foul mood. Too wound up to relax, you decided to take a load of laundry downstairs to put in the washer.
You attempted to, anyway. After trying and failing 3 times to pick up the same damn sock from the floor of your room that your fingers just would not grasp, you’d given up and kicked it away under the bed in anger. Oh sure, couldn’t pick it up but you managed to land a furious kick the first time around.
Though you were trying your best to manoeuvre around the doorframe with the pile of clothes you still bumped off it with your shoulder, muttering ouch as the latch scraped your arm. Then you overcompensated by moving too much in the other direction and stubbed your toe on the corner of the door. Instant pain that made you see red.
The pile of clothes in your arms were promptly thrown on the floor in a fit of rage. That was when you punched the wall. And now you’re a sorry state, fingers throbbing and face red, trying not to scream.
Oh shit, you hear Sam moving around in his room down the hall. There’s no way he didn’t hear you. Well, this is embarrassing. There isn’t time to pick everything up and hightail it down the stairs before he catches you, not with your mangled claw out of action.
You hear his door creak open. You slowly turn around and stare guiltily at your roommate as he pokes his head around the doorframe.
“I heard…” He takes in the sight of the pile of laundry scattered on the floor and you holding up your tingling hand, still hopping from foot to foot. “Jeez, again?”
***
Sam is your friend Elena’s brother-in-law, or something like that. You aren’t clear on how exactly they’re related, but you knew her from college, long before she got married. She heard you were looking for a new roommate a few months back, and she got in touch, telling you she knew just the person.
You baulked initially when you got a phone call from her after sparse contact over the last few years. You were actually enjoying living by yourself again, though money was a bit tighter. Your last roommate was pleasant enough at first, however they soon turned out to be a nightmare, it was a relief to get rid of them. But you liked Elena a lot, and you did owe her one or two favours. For some reason she thought you and Sam would hit it off.
And much to your surprise, you did. You were a bit nervous of him to begin with, but Sam turned out to be so laid back he was almost horizontal. The perfect foil to your occasionally manic energy. Living with him was easy, there weren’t any awkward silences. If you were in the same room but didn’t feel like talking, he was fine with it.
Your apartment was pretty basic but he seemed happy there with you. He even made you dinner sometimes when you’d had a tough day and you’d just come in and flop face down on the sofa. Sam would wordlessly stand up and then half an hour later come back through to get you with the same phrase every time. “You gonna eat something, or what?”
Elena had reassured you he probably wouldn’t even be there a lot of the time. He just needed somewhere to touch base every few weeks, she turned out to be correct.
You didn’t even really know what Sam did. He didn’t appear to have a job, he was almost always home during the day and seemed to spend a lot of time on your Playstation (“our Playstation” according to Sam). But he came up with his half of the rent every month and then disappeared again for a few weeks. You didn’t ask, not your business. You’d started to find the house too quiet and empty when he wasn’t there and you were always waiting to hear the keys in the lock and his joking “Honey, I’m home!” whenever he came back.
After moving in it didn’t take him long to pick up on your quirks, or notice that you were more accident-prone than the average person. It had led to the only argument you’d ever had with him.
One time while making dinner you’d dropped a plate and cursed yourself as it cracked in half on the tiled floor. You’d stared daggers at him, daring him to say a word about it. You totally weren’t expecting what he did next.
He’d just looked at you dead in the eyes as he pushed another plate off the counter. Exactly like a cat would.
You blew up at him. “What in the hell did you do that for? Now there’s twice as many sharp bits to clear up!”
“It’s just a plate.” He had shrugged, leaning back on the counter.
“What’s your damn point?”
“That it really doesn’t matter, and that I don’t care that we’ve had to replace pretty much everything in this kitchen since I moved in.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Not everything. You owe me a plate now.”
“You know, maybe we should invest in plastic ones.”
“We are adults Sam! And it’s not good for the environment.”
“And the current… situation is not good for your bank account!”
“Just because you’re used to plastic cutlery.” Kind of a cheap shot, but you’re still mad. You’d gathered he’d done jail time, but you didn’t dare ask what for, or how long. You caught him saying weird things sometimes and eventually realised it was because his concept of time was a little warped. He kept referring to the 90’s like it was only last week, instead of nearly 20 years ago.
Sam just laughed at your plastic cutlery comment, not at all offended. “Yeah, and I like living here so much I’m willing to do that if it means you’ll stop beating yourself up.”
“I’ll think about it.” You grumbled. But you got some plastic cups and plates on your way home from work the next day. Sam was right, it was a lot better, though it made you feel like a kid again.
As you’d gotten more comfortable with Sam you’d given up trying to hide the fact you were a walking health hazard and didn’t stifle your curses anymore.
At first he seemed amused by your clumsiness, he even laughed the first few times you did something stupid. But he quickly realised how upsetting your lack of control over your own limbs was for you, because it happened so damn often. He stopped making fun as soon as he noticed you couldn’t laugh it off with him. It wasn’t a joke to you. From then on he’d been surprisingly nice, he always attempted to make you feel better when it got too much.
***
Even so, right now as you were having a stand-off with him in the hallway, you gritted your teeth and tried to keep your voice even. Stay calm, he’s just concerned. “Yes, again.”
“What did it ever do to you? Y’know, standing there, being all wall-like…stopping our house from collapsing?”
“I lost my temper again. Punched the damn thing.”
He shook his head. “I’ve told you, you’ve got to look after those hands.”
“But they’re so fuc-“ You stop and sigh when he raises an eyebrow. Calm. “Flipping useless. I’m useless.”
“Not true.” Sam steps out of his room and walks in your direction. On the way he kicks a rogue sock back onto the main pile of mess on the floor. “Take that, you scoundrel.”
“I just wish my brain worked normally.”
“Your brain is fine. Your music taste on the other hand.” Sam moved his hand up and down in an ‘ehhhhhh’ motion and shook his head. “No no.”
He’s kidding, of course he is. Damn his sense of humour. But you don’t feel like smiling just yet. It still fucking hurts. “I think I broke something this time.” You really thumped the wall. You wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve actually done damage.
“You want me to check?”
“Please.”
You hold out your hand for him and he carefully wiggles and stretches your fingers one by one, watching your face for any reaction. You wince once he gets to your thumb. Oh, that one hurts the worst.
“No, thumb on the inside? For real?” Sam looked at you in disbelief.
“Apparently so.”
“That’ll learn you. That’s like rule number one of punching anything.”
You sigh. “Anything broken?”
“No, we’re all good. But keep your thumb on the outside next time or you really will break it.”
“Surprisingly, I wasn’t really focusing on technique that much. Oh hey, you should check this one again.” You hold your middle finger aloft.
“Very funny.” But he smirks at you, knowing he’s helping you feel better.
“Come on, you do that one to me all the time.”
“Learning from the best, what can I say? Oh, shit…” Sam’s staring past you.
“What, what’s wrong?” You glance back in the direction he’s looking.
Sam moves to the wall, right where you just punched and looks at you in faux-panic. “I need a medic!”
“Really?” You watch in amazement as he starts to do something to the wall which looks an awful lot like the chest compressions from CPR. Wow, he’s very committed to this bit.
“We’re losing them!”
“Sam, there’s barely a scuff on the wallpaper. I definitely came off worse.”
“I need a crash cart stat!” He yells at nobody in particular.
“Jesus Christ. You’ve been watching too many daytime medical dramas.” You just shake your head, but the corners of your mouth are threatening to twitch upwards.
“Have not…Beeeeeeeeeep! Aw, we lost them. RIP.” He finally steps away from the wall and shrugs. “I tried.”
“You’re such a goofball.” At least you’re smiling now.
“Hey, it worked didn’t it? Frown upside down.” He squeezes your shoulder. “You really did a number on that wall though, huh? I heard it all the way down there. Hell, I felt it. Made the stuff on the shelves rattle.”
“Yeah, I’ve had a bad day. A really bad day. People are assholes.” You glance down at the pile of laundry still littering the floor. “I should pick this up.”
“Do you have to right now?”
“Well, yeah…I was on the way downstairs to wash it.”
“I’m not sure the structural integrity of our house could take it if you had another…incident on the way to the washer. That wall’s concrete but you’re gonna end up going clean through one of the others. Then you’ll lose our security deposit.”
“My security deposit.”
“Right, right, right. That doesn’t mean you can punch holes wherever you like.”
“You could fix it though if I did?”
“Yeah, I guess. Y’know, I’ve never really asked you about it before, but talk me through it, what goes on in your head right before you flip out?”
“I don’t know, I just…see red and it happens before I can stop it.”
“Uh-huh.” He’s nodding. Bizarrely, he doesn’t look too freaked out to you admitting you pretty much go into berserker mode over minor inconveniences. “I know you can’t do anything about having 2 left feet, but you can do something about letting it get to you.”
“What, count to 10 or something?” You ask, mocking. Like you haven’t heard that one before.
“Yeah, seriously.” You get the impression he’s talking from experience. “It works, don’t question it.”
Screw it, he’s being really nice. At least he understands it’s not because you’re an idiot, it’s because your brain isn’t wired like most peoples. And he was right about the plastic plates. “Alright. I’ll try.”
“And you come tell me if this thing pisses you off again, I’ll deal with it.” Sam shakes his fist at the wall. He really is an idiot sometimes. But he does make you laugh. He’s your idiot.
“Gotcha.” You give him a thumbs-up with both hands, wincing again, the movement hurts.
He gives you a sly look. “How about you flex those fingers, and we play a game awhile. Crash Bandicoot maybe?”
“Again? I’ve got loads to do….” You fidget anxiously. you know what he’s up to though. Trying to get you to chill out.
“Just for a little bit. Scared I’ll beat ya?”
“Pffft, not even close, but I’m at a disadvantage this time.” There’s still no way he can win.
“I resent that, I’m getting pretty good.”
“You just mash the buttons.” It’s a fact and he knows it.
“C’mon, c’mon. I gotta at least beat your high score before I have to leave again.”
“Okay, okay, fine. I’m in. Let’s go!” You nod in the direction of the stairs.
“Loser deals with that later on.” He points at the abandoned pile of laundry on the floor.
“Deal, don’t go easy on me.” You step around it and follow him to the sitting room. Even with a crippled hand you’re pretty sure you can thrash him. “Elena and I used to play this in college, wonder if she still has it…”

Thank you for reading!
Yeah…I am not just clumsy, I am more like ‘danger to myself and others’ levels of uncoordinated. But I can’t be the only one! Don’t worry, Sam’s got your back ;) Also the title is the song Big Fun from Heathers the Musical because once again it has invaded my life. The whole soundtrack has been on a loop for days now. I LOVE IT. Punch the wall and start a fight!
- Sam Drake and Elena Fisher belong to Naughty Dog/the Uncharted creative team and I (sadly) take no ownership of them.
- This work is not for profit though it belongs to me and I must be credited when copying or reposting elsewhere
- As mentioned before reader is intended to be gender-neutral so please interpret this fic however you like. This is my first x Reader fic published and first g/n reader viewpoint I’ve attempted so I hope I did okay. I myself identify as mostly female so that’s what I normally write because it’s easier for me to connect with. But this was fun.

The winter had been harsh and long. The snow was thick over the fields, making sure that no crops would grow. The village was down to its last few animals; even the ones that had perished due to the harsh conditions had to be used up and eaten. The winter rations used up long ago, when the people thought it would be a normal cold season. No one had suspected that the ice would remain for this long. Spring should have started by now, the fields should have been lush and green, lambs and calves should have been dotted around the meadows and pastures. But here you were, cocooned in all the furs the family owned, ignoring pangs of hunger, and wishing to feel the warmth of the sun once more. Clearly this was the anger of the gods, and something had to be done in order to appease them or else your entire village would perish. A decision was made. A sacrifice was needed. It couldn’t be livestock; you were already struggling. The village elders had decided that there were already too many mouths to feed, so a human life it would be. It couldn’t be one of the boys, because obviously strong young men were needed to do what little labour was needed in the village. Elders were needed to pass on knowledge. Mothers were needed to raise the children. And this particular entity did not accept the lives of children. That left the girls of marriageable age. ‘Typical’ you thought to yourself. Something in the back of your mind told you that it would be you. Your family wasn’t particularly important, you had no elders to vouch for you in the council, and as much as they cared about the ‘good of the people’, they were not prepared to let go of their own granddaughters. When the decision was announced, you were not surprised. You hoped it was quick, whatever it was. //// For some morbid reason, you were dressed like a bride. The ceremonial garb was far too thin for the temperature. Maybe you were to freeze to death. Whoever this god was, his temple was located in the mountains near your village. It was, however, a surprisingly short trek. You assumed you would perish along the way seen as you were barefoot, without furs and not well fed. The people of the village could not even extend those courtesies to you. You looked around at the entrance of the temple, it just seemed like a dark and icy cave. It had gone unused for so long. The Jotun god, Loki had fallen out of the people's favour long ago. Mischief and chaos were not welcome by the people. Instead, his brother, Thor remained as the favoured god of the region. Maybe the harsh winter was revenge and punishment for forsaking him. A harsh reminder to the people that he still existed, and that his anger was not to be taken lightly. An elder spoke to you as your hands were tied, you weren’t really listening. A bitter drink was given to you, it burned on the way down, but it was the most warmth you had felt in a while. A thick veil was placed over your head, apparently you weren’t allowed to see what was about to happen, a small mercy. You were led into the temple, the lack of harsh wind making things a little more bearable, but the pure ice on the floor made your bare feet hurt. You were pushed onto your knees, the cold seeping into your bones. The elder walked away. You listened as the voices of the men drifted away from the entrance, leaving your fate in the hands of something unknown. Your only company was the constant dripping, echoing from somewhere in the cave, and the sound of your own thoughts. You hoped it was worth it. A numbing sensation began to take over, probably caused by the drink from earlier. //// You jolted awake at the sound of total silence. The wind could no longer be heard, and the dripping had stopped. You still couldn’t see anything. Yet somehow the room seemed a lot bigger, you felt more exposed, missing the strange comfort of the enclosed space you were supposedly left in. Had you been moved? As your eyes began to grow heavy again, you heard a shuffling from in front of you. The noise causing you to sit up straight. Whatever it was, its presence was suffocating. “Now what do we have here?” The voice was like velvet. Otherworldly even. It seemed to descend, getting closer to you. “A shivering little lamb, all for me.” This must have been Loki. You fought the urge to run out of wherever you were. “Well, it seems like the people haven’t been able to forget me, no matter how hard they try.” He grabbed your tied wrists, the rope falling away like water. His hands felt so big compared to yours. His cold touch made you tingle. “Oh you poor thing. Freezing, aren’t you?” You could only nod. He responded with a light chuckle. “Are you going to eat me?” you blurted out, not thinking about what you were saying. He moved away from you. You could feel him staring at you. You knew he was grinning. “Of course, I am,” he got closer again, “it is up to you how,” he whispered. You gulped. There seemed to be innuendo in his statement. He moved again, this time directly in front of you. You gasped as you saw his fingers hook under your veil. Big and blue was the only way you could describe them, with raised ridges. You wanted to trace them with your fingers. Your thoughts were cut short by the tugging on your veil. Your hands shot up to cover your scrunched up eyes. You felt the veil come off, the cool air hitting your head. “Look at me, Y/N”, his voice boomed around the space. You never told him your name, you were sure of it. His tone left no space to argue. How could you defy a powerful god anyway? You knew what his wrath could bring first-hand. You lowered your shaky hands first, placing them on your thighs, gripping your knees. You slowly opened your eyes, letting them adjust to the new light. Your eyes fell to the bottom of the dais you were kneeling at. Ever so slowly your gaze travelled up, taking in each individual, intricately carved step. Finally, your eyes landed on the being sprawled out over his crystal throne. His head rested on his hand, a bored expression on his face. The only way you could describe him was ‘magnificent’. A beauty like no other. You could see why mortals would fear him, but he was not the grotesque creature you expected him to be. He seemed amused at your expression, raising a brow at you, causing you to blush, you wanted to be back behind the veil to hide your own embarrassment. “I expected a little more screaming, mortals usually can’t handle what they cannot understand,” he finally spoke again. You could do nothing but owlishly blink. “Stand,” he commanded. You scrambled up, your legs resisting after kneeling for so long. “Come here,” he made a ‘come hither’ gesture with his finger. You slowly made your way up the icy steps, becoming painfully aware of your bare feet. You tried to look away when you stood directly in front of him, even sitting the god dwarfed you in size. His icy hand reached forward, gently holding your chin and making you face him. Those red eyes seemed to study your face intensely. You stared right back, taking in all his features. High cheekbones and a sharp nose, all accented by the same ridges he had on his hands. You followed the patterns to the column of his throat, stopping yourself from letting your eyes wander further down; you knew he was covered in the lines. You wondered if they were natural in Jotuns, or if they were burned into the skin, like a rite of passage of sorts. You had heard other tribes in your area had similar traditions. Your thoughts drifted to mapping them out with your own hands. “Such a curious little thing you are,” he said. He must have caught you staring, your eyes darted away from him as he chuckled. You caught a glimpse at his teeth, pearly white and sharp. He pinched your cheeks as you tried to turn away, thoroughly enjoying the heat that rushed into them. “I forget how soft and delicate Midgardians are,” he mumbled. He pulled away from you, looking you up and down as he thought what to do with you. “Your people want salvation, yes? They want the winter to end?” he asked. You quickly nodded; it was the reason you were here. He hummed, his fingers digging into the soft flesh of your hips. A grin spread across his face. The room around you began to spin before you fell back onto soft furs. A fire crackled nearby, you sighed at finally feeling warmth after so long. Loki stood above you, staring you down, the light from the fire making his features sharper than before. You felt like a mouse at his feet. You almost screamed as he got down, hovering above you on all fours, engulfing you with his body. Your noses touching. “I will offer your people reprieve from my winter,” he started. “Th- Thank you,” you stuttered. “However,” his grin became more malicious, “If you do not provide me an heir by next spring, the winter will plague your lands until you do,” he whispered in your ear, placing a cold hand across your belly. His tone left no room for question, the future of your people depended on this. You were pulled out of your thoughts when Loki carried you to the furs next to the fire, warming you up even further, you hadn’t noticed you were shivering until you stopped. “I am a cruel god, but I will show mercy to those that deserve it,” he mumbled. His cool hands trailed their way down the column of your throat, you gasped as his lips flowed close behind. Stopping along the way to mark and nip you with his sharp teeth, the marks would scar. This was the closest anyone had ever been to you. His hands made quick work of the cord holding your dress together. He peeled the thin fabric away from you. You tried to cover your bare skin, but your hands wouldn’t move, held down by some sort of magic. His hands found your soft skin again, making you groan as he paid attention to your breasts. “What sweet sounds you make, little maiden.” He made eye contact with you as he took one of your nipples into his mouth. Your hands broke free and buried themselves into his hair, your head falling back in unfamiliar pleasure. He smiles with his wet lips, before moving onto the other. You felt like you were burning up inside. He let go of your nipple with a ‘pop’, the cool air brushing over them. “I hope these will be full soon.” His lips travelled down your abdomen to the tops of your thighs. His hands ran up your legs until they met his lips. In one swift movement he held them open, your legs over his shoulders as your wetness was exposed to him. You covered your face in embarrassment. His fingers ghosted over your sensitive flash, causing your hips to jerk at the sensation, wanting more. “Is your cunt dripping for your god?” His mouth was so close to your heat. He used his magic to remove your hands from your face, making you look at him again. His red eyes burned into yours as his tongue liked a stripe through your folds. You sighed at the feeling, tightening your thighs around him and wanting more. He continued to noisily suck, distracting you from his finger that began to enter you. The intrusion was so foreign to you, but you couldn’t help but give in. Wanting more. You felt so greedy, you had never felt this sort of wanting before. You didn’t think your mother would be happy with you if she found out. Loki began sucking at your sensitive bud, bringing you to the edge of whatever this was. “Please...” you breathed out. You looked down at him with teary eyes, you didn’t know what you were begging for. With one final suck, Loki had you seeing stars, finally falling off the edge you were headed towards. Your legs jerked around him, keeping him where he was as he looked up at you with amusement in his eyes. You looked down at him after coming down from your high, his face wet with your release. You let your legs relax, allowing him to move up to you, this time capturing your lips in a searing kiss, tasting yourself on his tongue. He broke away, leaving you breathless. Using his magic, he quickly got rid of what little clothing he was in. You were right about the ridges being everywhere, your hands were loose again, and you reached for his chest, finally getting a feel of the cool skin. He growled as your fingers traced the ridges down to his stomach. His hands stopped yours as you reached his hips. You let your eyes wander down, they widened at the size of his cock. He chuckled at your reaction. “Mortals are quite adaptable are they not? I’m sure your cunt will be able to accommodate me.” He brought your hands to feel his ridged and velvety skin. He sighed at the feeling of your warm hands. He shuffled you around again, spreading you open for what was to come next. He rubbed his cock along your folds, the temperature difference already making you hiss. You didn't think he would fit. With one hand on your hip, he guided the tip to your entrance. Slowly, he pushed in, stopping to let you stretch around him until he bottomed out. The only way you could describe the feeling was ‘full’. You knew no mortal man could ever fill you like this, they wouldn’t even get the opportunity to. His hand pressed down on your stomach, “Can you feel me here?” he groaned. All you could do is nod, no coherent words forming any time soon. Both hands found your hips this time, he began to thrust in a steady rhythm, slowly picking up the pace. You knew you’d never get used to his size, however long you were here. The room filled with the sounds of skin on skin, you moaned anytime he hit that spot inside you. Loki moved you so effortlessly, as if you were simply a toy, made for his pleasure. The coil in your belly began to tighten again, you didn’t know how much longer you would last. “Please, My King… I…” You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to fight the feeling.
“You want to cum again? So soon? Aren’t you being a little greedy mortal?” he taunted. His words made you clench around him a little tighter. You looked up at him with teary eyes, hoping he would show you this one mercy. “Pathetic little thing,” he grumbled, his fingers reaching for your clit, letting you tumble off the edge again. He kept on thrusting through your aftershocks, heightening the sensations. He fully sheathed himself inside you before his head fell back in ecstasy, pumping you full of his seed. You went limp on the furs, trying to catch your breath. The heat of the fire felt too much for you at that moment. Loki pulled himself out with an obscene noise, inspecting the aftermath of his work.
“Your people are lucky to have sent you, little mortal.” He effortlessly carried you back to the bed, letting you sink into the covers. “You were strong enough to last through receiving my seed, and you’ll be strong enough to carry my heir,” his hand rubbed your tummy, seemingly deep in thought, “Not many would have survived.” He climbed in behind you. You groaned as his fingers found your sensitive cunt. He speared you back onto his already hard cock, you whimpered at the stretch. “I’ll let you rest for a little while, but you will keep me warm until we can start again. You have a purpose to fulfil, remember?” “Yes My King,” you whispered back, trying to adjust to the foreign sensation.

Warnings: Sad Poe, angst, panic attacks, anxiety, heartbreak, small mention of blood, cursing, uhhh I think that’s all?
Tumblr media
Poe’s never liked the quiet. It makes him feel trapped, makes him feel claustrophobic and panicked. It makes him feel like a kid again, gives him the same sense of fear he remembers having when he was only five years old, like the monsters out of his worst nightmares will manifest into real life terrors the longer the silence drags on.
He can’t stand it, can never sit in it for long, not without succumbing to the thoughts and memories that he’s always kept buried behind stacks of bricks in his mind, under lock and key where they can’t touch him, can’t hurt him.
But silence is the only thing he has now, the only way he can get himself to experience something other than the hollow feeling that has made a permanent home in his chest, and he’ll take it. He’ll take the fear over the numbness, he’ll take it over and over again just to feel something real. He welcomes it.
It’s almost like a distraction. A distraction from the glass shards poking through the muscles of his heart, a distraction from his fragmented ribs wailing with each inhale he takes. A distraction from her.
That’s a complete lie, that’s  just what he likes to tell himself. Poe’s never stopped thinking about her.
Another lie — the mornings are easy, she hardly crosses his mind at all. He’s stopped waking up and turning his head to the side, looking at the empty spot next to him and wishing it were all just a dream. He’s stopped reaching over to touch the sheets in search of warmth. Now, he just swings his legs over the side of his bed and gets on with his day. He showers, he eats breakfast, he does his duties and never falters, never loses focus.
But she always slips her way back into his mind as the day drags on, and by the time night falls, she’s taken over his every thought, relentless in her assault. He still untucks the blankets on what was once her side of the bed before he goes to sleep.
Poe doesn’t know how long he’s been laying there now, alone in their- his bed, staring at the ceiling and willing sleep to find him and carry him away into a dreamless slumber. He doesn’t know how long he’s been sniffing the air, searching for a hint of her perfume but it’s had to have been hours now. He’s tired, he’s so so tired and he just wants to sleep. He needs to sleep.
He thinks maybe the silence is doing more harm than good, for the first time he thinks he might prefer the numbness over his incessant thoughts about her.
He really doesn’t know which is worse.
He doesn’t even know if he’s right about what he’s feeling or isn’t feeling and when, it’s all so jumbled now. He’s a fucking wreck.
And he’s scared it’s going to affect his ability to do his job effectively. He’s scared it’s going to cause him to make a stupid decision that costs him his life, or worse, someone else’s. Poe’s so fucking scared and the silence is weighing heavy, he feels like his chest is getting ready to cave in on itself. He can’t take it.
His entire body feels like it’s on fire.
Poe sits up and throws the covers back from his body in a haste, each hand finding the opposite arm as the invisible flames lick at his nerves, and he scratches. He scratches and scratches and scratches and he whimpers when it doesn’t stop, when it doesn’t even help. It hurts. It hurts so much and he just wants her out of his head, out of his veins. As long as she’s there he can’t fucking breathe, he can’t-
“Poe?”
He forgot that he wasn’t alone. You’d fallen asleep on the small couch in his quarters and he hadn’t had the heart to wake you and send you to your own room.
He hears your footsteps growing closer, but he doesn’t look up, he just keeps his eyes tightly shut.
“It won’t kriffing stop.”
His voice cracks, he hates the way it cracks.
You’re immediately by his side, hands hesitating before you reach out to touch him, not sure if that’s what he needs or if it would only make him worse. He notices, and he’s thankful for it, because he’s not sure either.
His chest is so tight. He’s spiraling. He’s watching you closely and he catches the exact moment you register that he’s so far from okay, and the look in your eye makes his heart shatter. You’re terrified.
“What can I do?” you ask, your own voice wavering, and he hates that it’s his fault. He hates that you’re upset, that he’s the one making you upset. You don’t deserve it, you’re the last person who deserves it and he feels like absolute shit.
He shakes his head, still scratching at his skin, blood collecting under his fingernails from one particular drag. That’s what finally makes you reach out and grab his wrists, and it’s as if everything stops. His racing mind, the burning, everything. There’s just silence.
Silence he can stand, that doesn’t feel like the end of the world or a nightmare. Everything’s just so still and calm and he can breathe again, he can think again. His skin tingles where your fingers touch, and it’s the best thing he’s felt in weeks.
But his chest is still heaving as he comes back down and you’re still scared, so you don’t divert from the plan that had quickly entered your mind. You pull him up and he doesn’t protest, doesn’t have the energy to, and you lead him towards the ‘fresher. He still doesn’t protest when you pull him in fully clothed, still doesn’t make a noise when the first blast of water is ice cold, but his shoulders do relax after you twist some knobs and the hottest water on base comes spraying down on you both.
You’re staring at him, he can feel your eyes on him even as his own are closed. He can still feel the worry radiating off of you and he still hates it. He doesn’t deserve to have someone like you concerned about him and you don’t deserve the kind of panic he can sense.
You don’t deserve it.
He’s still hung up on a girl who left him completely shattered and you’re in love with him, he’s known that you love him for months now, ever since one drunken night where you both had one too many and you kissed him in an empty hallway, confessing your feelings to him while he could only stand there and stare. He remembers thinking he should’ve been angry, he’d still been with her at the time. He should’ve pushed you away and he should’ve yelled but instead the only thought that ran through his head had been kissing you again, becoming more familiar with territory he so desperately wanted to get to know. He’d wanted to explore every part of you that you’d allow, like he’d wanted to do from the moment you crashed into his life and turned it upside down in the best possible way.
He wanted you. He still wants you.
You didn’t seem to remember anything the next morning though, and that was fine. That was fine because he still had her and that was enough but now she’s gone and all he can think about is your damn lips and the way your chest looks through your soaking wet t-shirt and he doesn’t deserve you. Poe doesn’t deserve you. You don’t deserve to have him shatter you.
And it’s only been minutes since the thought of her sent him into a blind panic, but now, as he’s standing there under the boiling water in his cramped ‘fresher with your face just inches from his, he realizes that it’s not her stuck in his veins, but you.
His nightmares where he’s left completely alone and broken on the floor, it wasn’t her face he saw, but yours. It wasn’t her he screamed for when he woke up at three o’clock in the morning, sweating and shaking. It wasn’t her perfume he loved, but yours. It wasn’t that he was strung out over missing her, it was that he was scared you would come to the same realization that she did and leave him too. You were going to realize that he’s not enough and you were going to leave and then he’d really be all alone.
Poe doesn’t want to be alone.
And like you can read his mind, you reach up towards his face, hesitating again so he can pull away if he still doesn’t want to be touched but he doesn’t. He lets you cup his cheeks, he leans into it even, and your touch is so gentle, so soft all he can do is let his eyes flutter shut at the feeling of your fingers on his skin once more.
He wants to kiss you again.
He doesn’t deserve you.
“I’m sorry she did this to you,” you mumble, letting your thumb stroke along his cheekbone. “I’m sorry I can’t fix it.”
But you can, he wants to tell you that if anyone can fix it, it’s you. He wants to tell you it’s not her, he wants to get down on his knees and beg for you not to leave him, to stay with him even though he’s broken and weak and only a shell of his former self. He wants to-
“I’m sorry I’m not her.”
That makes his eyes widen almost comically, and he’s immediately shaking his head, grabbing onto your wrists to keep you there when you try to pull away.
“Stop it.” His voice has it’s normal edge to it again. “You’re better than her.”
“But Poe-”
“No.” His grip tightens. “Don’t you dare even start comparing yourself to her.”
Little did he know that’s all you’d been doing since you met her.
“You’re everything she’s not.”
“Poe-”
“You’re the one I want. It’s you, it’s always been you.”
His words take no time at all to register, he can see the shock written across your face the moment they leave his lips, but he doesn’t stop there.
“I cannot get you out of my fucking head and it scares the hell out of me.”
You’re quiet, and the expression on your face shifts into something he can’t quite place, can’t read. You just stand there and stare at him, unblinking, unmoving for what feels like centuries before you finally reach behind you and shut the water off. His heart sinks.
You reach for a towel, holding it in front of him, turning your head away. “Take your sweats off, let’s get you back in bed. You need to sleep.”
He shakes his head again, but your eyes are closed and you miss the hastey movement.
“Please don’t make me, kriff, I don’t want to be alone. I can’t-”
The panic is immediately present in his tone. It makes you look at him again, and now you’re the one shaking your head. “I’ll stay. I just want you to get some rest Poe.”
He takes another moment to watch you, as if he needs to validate your sincerity — not that he doesn’t trust you, Poe has always trusted you with his life. He’s just scared.
“Okay,” he finally mumbles, nodding his head. You nod once as well, and then hold the towel back up.
He pushes his sweats down his legs then wraps the towel around his hips before doing the same for you, and he’s the one to guide you back into his room. He doesn’t offer you clothes, you don’t ask for them. You both just want to lay down.
The silence is still present, but just like before, Poe can stand it. He can stand it because you’re lying next to him and you’re there and you’re not her.
He’s staring at you, and he doesn’t care if it’s creepy or weird. He just wants to make sure you’re still there, he’s so scared you’re going to leave him. Everyone leaves, his mother left him when he was only eight years old and no one has stayed since. He needs you to stay.
But you don’t seem to want him anymore. Not like you used to.
That doesn’t matter. He’ll take you in any way, any form he can get. That will be enough.
“I should’ve told you I love you.”
His voice is hardly above a whisper but he knows you hear him, he can see the look in your eyes shift again, though he can’t quite place it.
“When you kissed me, I should’ve pulled you closer, I should’ve told you I loved you then. I should’ve been with you the whole time.”
You’re quiet for a moment and just like that Poe can read you again. He recognizes shock with maybe just a hint of embarrassment. “You remember that?”
He nods, reaching for your hand so he can intertwine his fingers with yours — he always holds your hand, it’s not uncommon, isn’t out of the ordinary but it feels different this time. He’s not sure why.
“I thought you were the one who didn’t remember anything.” He squeezes your hand once. “I should’ve told you.”
You squeeze back automatically, so used to the little exchange, but before you can speak again he’s squeezing three times. It makes you freeze.
Three times for three words.
You shake your head.
“You’ve been telling me for a long time Poe.”
He knows, he knows exactly what you’re talking about even though it was something he’d never thought about, it was just instinct. It was just something that felt right but now it made sense.
“Please don’t leave me.” He’s still whispering. “I want you. Please don’t go.”
You’re quiet again, and he can tell that you’re battling with your thoughts. He wishes he could actually read your mind, see what’s going on up there in that beautiful brain of yours. He wants to wipe the worry away, he wants to take any fear or doubt and wash it right down the drain where it belongs.
“You need to sleep.”
That’s not what he wants to hear. Now he’s the one who’s quiet, for several long moments, his stomach flipping with nerves and a kind of anxiety that he wasn’t used to — the bricks he’d put up so long ago were breaking down.
“But-”
“We can talk about this in the morning,” you interrupt, shaking your head from side to side. You move closer to him, and Poe’s thankful for the warmth your body offers, both physically and mentally. “This isn’t a conversation we should have when we’re both tired.”
“I just-”
“Poe please.” Your voice cracks like it did earlier in the night, and he’s not sure why. “Can we please just talk about this later?”
He looks at you, really takes a moment to just look at you and try to figure you out, but again he can’t decipher the expression on your face, the emotion in your eyes. You look hurt, and Poe just can’t understand.
“Will you still be here when I wake up?” he finally asks, trying to push down the lump in his throat. He wouldn’t cry in front of you, not now. He doesn’t want to upset you any further.
You don’t hesitate to answer him, and that’s another thing he’s thankful for.
“I’m not going anywhere Dameron.”
He believes you, Maker he believes you.
Poe reaches out and lets his fingers find your hip, and he pulls you even closer, wanting more of your warmth that felt so much like home to him, something he hadn’t realized before, when she was still clouding his vision and taking him over.
And that’s what scares you — the sudden realization, how quickly the switch seemed to flip in his mind. How eager and ready he was for you when she’d been all he could think about. It scares the hell out of you.
You need him to wait, you need him to make sure that you’re really what he wants, because there’s no way you could take it if he dangles his love in front of you only to revoke it when he isn’t tired or panicked, when he’s not hurting. You need him to be sure.
Poe’s never been more sure of anything when he wakes up the next morning and you’re still right there, pressed into his side just like you’d promised. He’s never been more sure of anything when he inhales deeply and catches your familiar perfume.
He’s never been more sure of anything when he kisses you, and the feeling of his lips on yours is the only reassurance you need.

hi fiona!! can't wait to see all the prompts you'll write! how about 21 for rex and ahsoka?
!!! kt!!! thank you so much for the ask!!! asjkdlkas someone tell me how to write less please AKJSDSAKK
21. "Why are you always so reckless, huh? Do you ever think about what would happen if something happened to you?" // from these prompts! // read it on ao3!
They limped—or at least, Ahsoka limped—up through the forest and eventually emerged at the edge of the hill where peach-orange grass gave way to a navy cliffside. There was a jagged path carved out, wide enough for them to get across in 2, maybe 3 lines. She could make out dark blotches a few miles away—Anakin’s ships. So they had been able to land. That made one of them.
“We should go around,” Rex’s gruff voice said as he came up behind her. Ahsoka looked over her shoulder at him. He eyed the dropoff warily. “There are rockslides this time of year and I don’t trust this cliff.”
Ahsoka turned back, head craning up to examine it. “That’ll take too long.” She nodded toward the other ships in the distance. “Anakin needs our help and this is the fastest way to the landing zone.” She stepped onto the path, one hand on the cliffside to steady herself.
Rex moved forward. “Commander—”
“It’s fine, Rex. We have to help Anakin.” She tried to ignore the scorching pain shooting up her leg. Her shoulders moved with a breath. “Trust me on this one.”
She was stopped by a warm hand on her arm. “It’s not safe. Especially with our wounded.” Ahsoka could feel his eyes on her leg. “We can’t help General Skywalker if we’re dead.”
“Rex—”
“All due respect, Commander, trust me on this one.”
Ahsoka gritted her teeth, shifting once again to face him. Her mind briefly raced through alternatives, outcomes, a headcount, and with one more twinge in her ankle, she sighed and relented. “You’re right.”
Rex gave her a nod and turned to direct the troops back around.
Her eyes found the horizon once more and Anakin’s ships that rested there. She had a bad feeling about this battle. Something was going to go—
“Commander?” came Rex’s voice at her shoulder. Ahsoka didn’t look at him, instead closing her eyes, brow furrowed as she listened, as she felt. The ground shook lightly under her feet, the faint screech of metal against metal, metal against stone. “What is it?”
Ahsoka came up from beneath the waves of the Force, eyes opening as she unhooked her lightsabers. “We’ve got company.” As soon as the words left her mouth, a battalion of black-plated droids materialized around the curve of the cliff. They stopped in what seemed like surprise, and there was a shout from Rex. Her side shot first, quick as they’ve always been, and in a breath, Ahsoka was deflecting bolts from every direction.
It was a pretty typical battle, as far as strategy goes, and Ahsoka found herself getting lost as the droids approached and withdrew in turn, her spinning lightsabers loops of light in clouding dust.
Rex appeared at her side. “What’s the plan?”
“You said there are rockslides here?” She sliced through another two droids.
He stopped shooting, incredulous gaze boring into her even through his helmet. “No.”
Ahsoka twisted in front of him, habitually falling back into their familiar sword-and-shield technique. Rex’s pistols were in the air once more, his aim deadly even as he kept his focus on their conversation.
“We wanted to go around anyway. Why not block them here?”
A shot skimmed off Rex’s shoulder. “You’re not serious. That’ll get us all killed.”
“No, it won’t,” Ahsoka insisted. “Just get all the men off the path and onto the hill. I’ll bring the cliff down in front of us.”
She risked a glance behind her and, seeing that everyone was off the cliffside already, Ahsoka pushed Rex back. She steadied herself in the Force and pulled.
The ground rumbled, there was the sound of crunching metal, and then Rex’s hand was on her arm, trying to tug her away. There was a shrill gasp in the Force and Ahsoka saw a massive column of rock headed straight for them.
“Rex!” she shouted, throwing herself into him and sending him to the ground a few feet away. She scrambled forward, and the rock collided with the spot where they had just been standing.
But Ahsoka hadn’t moved far enough.
The column had completely smashed through the path and the rest was crumbling away. She tried to run, but her broken ankle clipped the edge, her stomach dropped, and then she was falling.
She blindly reached out, scrabbling for purchase on the cliff, but gravity’s grip was not so easily curbed.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex was leaning over the side, hand out; Ahsoka’s hand brushed his, fingers slipping past each other, just too far to reach, and she plummeted. Wind rushed past, rocks cascading down alongside her. She saw Rex’s well-worn helmet grow smaller and smaller, and then something slammed into her and the world cut to black.
--
Someone was screaming. There was a ringing cutting through Ahsoka’s brain and everything was muffled as she blinked squinting eyes open, but she knew she could hear screaming. It got louder as she tried to move her legs—tried, because she couldn’t even feel her legs, couldn’t feel anything but searing, scalding pain up her spine, down every nerve—and when she gasped in a breath of dust, the screaming paused and turned to coughing. Ahsoka’s chest shuddered, her throat scraped so raw she thought she might vomit.
Then she opened her eyes fully, saw the blood pooling beneath herself, and did vomit. Pounding head, pounding heart, Ahsoka weakly tilted her gaze up. Far above her was blurred movement, a wave of white dotted with blue swirled down and around and back up again. Her neck ached so much it tingled, turning numb. Her wrist vibrated and beeped.
Wait, that wasn’t right. Wrists don’t normally do that. She slowly moved her arm up onto her stomach, saw the faint blink of green that was, she realized after a few stuttering breaths, her comm. Another second in agony and she clicked the call through, surprised it was still working at all.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex.
It was Rex. Some of the fear swelling in her throat eased at the confirmation of his presence. Rex was there. He’d know what to do.
“Ahsoka? Can you hear me?”
She licked cracking lips. “Yeah.” She hoped her broken voice would carry. Wondered if her broken body would need to be carried too. “Yeah, I’m here.”
A sigh of relief made static on the other side. “Are you alright?”
Ahsoka took stock of herself. Broken leg, obviously, maybe both. A concussion if the pain-filled sleep tugging at her was any indication. And she was pinned—half her body nearly crushed under the immense pieces of cliffside that’d fallen with her. Jagged stone cut into her shoulder.
“Ahsoka?”
She hesitated. “I could use some help.”
A muffled swear, a shouted order, the sound of a hundred quick, urgent footfalls. His voice was tight when he spoke again. “We’re coming to you now. Can you walk?”
Ahsoka shook her head before she realized that was a bad idea—her vision whited out at the corners—and that he couldn’t even see her anyway. “No.” Her head swam. When had it gotten so cold outside? “I’m pinned. I think my leg’s broken.”
“What about the Force?”
Oh. Ahsoka had forgotten about that. But when she dipped into its familiar depths, sleep, the dangerous kind, pulled at her—down, down, down—until Ahsoka gasped and ripped herself away. Adrenaline hammered her heart. “No. Don’t wanna risk it.”
Rex didn’t bother asking for further information. The footsteps got faster.
“Are you okay?” Ahsoka asked softly.
“Yes, sir,” came the rough reply.
She nodded, forgetting again that he couldn’t see. “Good.”
“Good?”
Ahsoka blinked. “Yeah. That’s kind of what I was going for.” Her chest tightened, ribs shifting; she should probably stop talking.
“You can’t just—” Static crackled over the comm. They must’ve hit a deadzone.
Ahsoka drifted her eyes along the crimson sky, sinking in and out of unconsciousness as she waited.
“—mander? Commander?”
“Here,” she said belatedly, her brain coming back to the surface. “‘m here. ‘m fine.” Trees rustled in the wind. Ahsoka thought she could hear them coming, not just over the comm, but actually hear them, in the distance. She suddenly remembered where she was. “Gonna try to get out.”
Rex’s voice bit through the air immediately. “No, don’t. You’ll hurt yourself more. Just stay awake.”
She shifted, readying herself to try pulling her leg out. “’s fine, I got it.”
“Commander, stay exactly where you are.” His voice was clipped. “Don’t try to move.”
Ahsoka groaned, lightning zipping up her leg. “I got it.” She was starting to sweat, despite the cold. It had been cold, right?
“Ahsoka, stop!”
And she did, blinking in shock.
Rex’s tinny voice continued, wired anger cutting through the comm. “Why are you always so reckless? Do you ever even think about what would happen if something—” Ahsoka couldn’t tell if he’d cut himself off or if they’d hit another deadzone, but either way her head throbbed with pain and guilt.
“Sorry,” she mumbled back. She was completely spent of energy, spent of strength, and her body ached with agony.
“—and on the cliff—” Rex’s voice suddenly cut back in.
“Wasn’t trying to be reckless,” she interrupted, voice breathy. There was a crucial piece of information he was leaving out. “Trying to save your life.” Ahsoka dropped her head onto her arm.
There was the sound of shuffling, static rocks shifting beneath far-away feet. “What about saving your own life?” Past the haze slowly encroaching on the world, Ahsoka wondered why he was so angry with her. She didn’t think she’d ever heard him so emphatic. He’d scolded her plenty of times—follow orders this, don’t run off looking for trouble that—Ahsoka should’ve been used to it. But still.
Cynicism seeped out of her exhausted mind. “Can’t save everyone.” It was something Anakin had told her, back when she’d first become a Padawan, back when she was determined to get everyone out of this alive. When she’d thought that was even an option.
“You can try.”
There was a pause, and in it, Ahsoka breathed, her eyes slipping closed.
“Ahsoka!”
Rex was shaking her shoulders, his face, bare of its helmet, twisted in worry above hers. Ahsoka’s heart shuddered, stumbled, like it’d just remembered that it had to beat. Her hand instinctively clutched his arm.
“You’re alright.” People were moving, pushing the rock off her, and Rex’s voice broke through the onslaught of pain. “We got you.” His hand was on her shoulder. “I got you.”

There was something to be said about distance.
It was a buffer, quieting every voice, external and internal, until the only one left was that of the crickets singing over the lo-fi spilling out of the house behind you. You’d stepped away from the party long enough ago that the playlist had started over many songs back—you had no clue how many anymore. The distance turned the music’s thrumming into a quiet melody, the lyrics just as indistinguishable up close as here in the backyard, sitting on patio furniture that rocked lopsidedly in the grass.
Any filter would do, though. Anything that could soften the world just a little around its loud, coarse edges. The ice in your peach-flavored hurricane melting so that the drink was a little less saccharine. The rum casting a film over your mood, keeping your loneliness from dropping you into total dolor. The slight late-night breeze blowing the smoke from the fire pit away from you so that the acrid smell was stronger on the hood of your black sweatshirt than the air. It all muddled your emotions, numbing the buzzing overwhelm of the party to an anxious hum. The party had been neon, and out here you had a bit more darkness.
Without these buffers absorbing some of the furor, you might have escaped the party hours ago. Snuck out while the thing was still in full thrall, before social anxiety could hiss over your bones. Got out while you were ahead. Instead, you’d lasted as long as you could before out to the backyard with the near-dead fire, wracked with guilt at the prospect of leaving without saying goodbye, while too nervous to actually draw the attention to yourself necessary to actually say goodbye.
That wasn’t to say you hadn’t held up for a good while, though. You’d hung out with your friends when the fire had just gotten started and then when the party had moved indoors for drinking games and edibles. You’d hovered on the border as your friends grew more interested in dancing in drunken delay to the somniferous lo-fi beat than conversation. Then the itching had started in your brain, and before you knew it, you were out here, social battery drained dry, waiting for an indefinite future in which you could find the energy to escape.
You shivered as footsteps swiped through the grass, crickets chirping at the intruder.
“Did I surprise you?” Shinsou asked, his voice deep from booze or smoke or both. Or, maybe he was just tired, you figured, as the harsh light of the fire sharpened the bags under his eyes into dark creases.
“Breeze,” you mumbled, goosebumps rising on your wrists, standing the fine hairs on end. Only a few licks of heat from the pit were touching your knees, leaving the rest of you cold in your threadbare sweatshirt as the fire shrank smaller and smaller.
Shinsou had a blanket in his arms, ratty and certainly stolen from the back of the living room couch. He blinked at you for a second before he asked, “Can I join you?”
His voice was deadpan. Between the two of you, there was no real vocal inflection to speak of. Still, you shrugged one shoulder and said, “Sure.”
You stiffened when, instead of choosing one of the many other patio chairs or foldable camping chairs forming a friendly circle around the fire, he joined you on your bench, tossing a bit of blanket over your knees. You hardly realized you were staring at him until he said, “You’re cold, right?”
“Oh, yeah, a little,” you said, tucking your knees up to your chin and curling the scrap of blanket around your arms.
The blanket was raggedy in your hands, pilled on the hem, but warm from being indoors with all the dancing bodies. Plus, clinging onto it, running your thumb over the uneven texture gave you something to focus on instead of Shinsou’s body so close to yours.
Your senses were tingling, raw at having someone nearby again. It was too soon—you still didn’t have anything to say, no defense for why you’d dropped off from the party without a word.
But, on the other hand, being alone wasn’t fixing you either. Parts of your brain were still coiled taut as compression springs, and while they weren’t getting any tighter, they weren’t quite loosening yet either. It was rest, not recovery.
Abruptly—was it abrupt, or were you that zoned out?—Shinsou touched the back of his hand to yours, nearly making you flinch as he furrowed his brows at you. “How long have you been out here?” he asked, shifting towards you and pushing more of the blanket into your lap.
“Oh, um—” maybe a half an hour, maybe more, “—not that long.”
For that flash of contact, his skin had been hot against yours, so you could only imagine how cold your hands had felt to him. Your icy drink was probably mostly to blame, but you were also suddenly aware of how your shoulders were hunched nearly to your ears, your arms clenched to your sides like your chest might warm them. You piled the blanket a little more over your knees and one shoulder, only the hand holding your drink poking out.
“Hard being on the fringes,” he mused as he took a sip from a can. Possibly seltzer, probably beer.
You mirrored, tasting your own drink. It was really mostly water by now, though you were sure it was still painting your tongue orange.
Shinsou’s situation wasn’t much different than yours. Everyone in that house was old classmates. Shinsou was too, but he’d come late. Not too late to be friends, but late enough that it mattered. You were even later—not a classmate, but a post-high school roommate. You’d both landed on the side of Kaminari’s friend group, but neither of you were the core of it. The heart of it. That, for reasons you couldn’t quite understand, was Bakugou.
For some reason, you and Shinsou had never talked about this before.
“Hard being in a group big enough for there to be a fringe.”
Because, of course, it wasn’t just the Bakusquad here today. The majority of the old 3-A was here, those who weren’t on duty or suffering with early morning duty tomorrow. Enough people to certainly cause a ruckus and maybe a noise complaint that even pro heroes wouldn’t get out of.
“Touché”
The two of you fell into silence, and you couldn’t help but wonder exactly what had drawn Shinsou from the party. Even if he didn’t feel he was the most popular guy in the room, you’d seen the way he had the ability to talk to everyone. You weren’t sure if it was a product of his quirk or what, but he was able to start a conversation with everyone he met. He didn’t seem shy or anxious in the least.
Then again, that was just what he presented. You knew from that what you put forth in public wasn’t necessarily in line with what you were feeling.
It was hard to be the introvert around a group like yours. Worse—it was noticeable. This wasn’t the first time you’d stumbled away from a party, mind half gone not on alcohol or weed but on the sudden assault of attention, loud voices, and talk of hero work. Being one of the only non-heroes in the room was exhausting, and maybe that’s why you’d had to escape. Or maybe there never was a reason, good or otherwise, and you were just here because of your stupid self.
“Clear night,” Shinsou commented, “Don’t get to see much of the stars in the city.”
You looked up, a bright spot in the center of your vision from where you’d been staring into the fire. Almost everyone in your group lived in the city, not too far from each other, depending on your definition of the word. But those with quirks better suited outside the city, like Tsuyu and Koda, had moved out of town post graduation, granting the rest of you access to a night in the suburbs like this.
The truth was, you hardly looked up at the sky in the city. Tourists were always looking up, eyes glinting off the skyscrapers and billboards. But natives were always looking down, too aware of the fact that other natives didn’t always clean up after their dogs and, with so little grass, the sidewalk often needed a close eye kept to it.
But here, it was pretty. Not the smog-stained brown you were used to, but deep blue and twinkling with infinite pinpricks.
“Mm,” you hummed, taking another sip of your watery drink. “You’re right.”
“There’s Cassiopeia,” he said, pointing just over the tree line.
You followed his finger, unsure quite of what you were looking at. The stars hardly looked like clusters to you, especially on a night like this where you could see so many. It was more a broad network of them, either all connected or all individual. All the stars or just a star.
“You know constellations?” you asked, ears latching onto something that finally wasn’t hero related. Truth be told, you probably knew less about stars than you did about hero work but it was less alienating. You could lean into it.
“Some,” he offered. “Cassiopeia is a basic one.”
“Where is it?”
Shinsou glanced at you, leaning in closer so that his finger could match your gaze. You shoulders knocked and you could feel his wild hair against your own. His finger traced down and up, down and up in a cockeyed W. “Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda.”
“She’s a woman?”
It was any wonder that ancient people had looked into the night sky and seen things like rams and bulls, creating a whole woman out of a few diagonal lines. Still, you listened to Shinsou, his low voice rumbling into your tired bones as he began.
“A beautiful woman,” he answered. “In Greek myth, she thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Her boastfulness made Poseidon angry, so he created a sea monster that Andromeda was sacrificed to. Andromeda was left to await her fate when Perseus, who had just killed Medusa, used Medusa’s head to turn the sea monster to stone. After saving Andromeda, the two of them got married, and when they died, they both became constellations alongside Cassiopeia.”
Shinsou’s voice was husky and even as he told the story. The cadences were easy drops, landing you softly before he started up again with his next thought. It was a voice you could be rocked by, a voice you could be held by.
“Do you know where they are too?”
“Just below,” Shinsou said. “Probably come up just in time for the sun to make them invisible.”
“That’s too bad,” you said, curling deeper into the blanket, curling so that on shoulder leaned more onto the bench than the other. You head was almost resting on Shinsou’s shoulder and you could feel his warmth radiating in the cold night. “How do you know all this?”
Shinsou was quiet for a second and your nerves spiked again. You hadn’t even felt them relax, but suddenly your anxiety was scratching again, wondering if you’d misspoke. Or maybe you’d whispered it and he just hadn’t heard you? Before you could decide whether to say it again or apologize, though, he let out a sigh that jostled the blanket.
“Jack of all trades, master of none,” he said by way of explanation.
You cocked your head. Perhaps it was just a good hobby for an insomniac, but you were unsure about the evasiveness. “Did you have to learn a lot for general studies? Or to get in to U.A.?”
“…Yeah.”
You could only imagine. U.A. was an incredibly competitive school for heroes, but that was a specialized course. For general studies you didn’t need to have the physical prowess or the other particular skills that came with heroics, but you had to be an ace in school. It was no small feat to get into general studies, especially while you were trying to pursue something else. You were satisfied with that, ready to let it go and return to the near silence of the crickets and the fire popping, when Shinsou suddenly continued.
“When it looked like my plans to become a hero wouldn’t pan out,” Shinsou began, his words slow, tired, “my parents encouraged me into any and all other interests. None stuck.”
“Oh,” you said quietly, the personal admission taking you aback.
For all the times you’d seen Shinsou talk effortlessly with people in a room, you weren’t sure how personal or vulnerable you’d ever seen him. He seemed comfortable enough probing other people, but this was new. It made the space between you suddenly seem private—so different from the party you’d escaped from. You could still hear the ambient noises of a couple dozen people in there having a good time, but it was suddenly a world away.
“I’m sorry, Shinsou,” you said, brows furrowing as you glanced his eyes, still gazing up at the stars. His parents had probably thought they were being supportive, but it wasn’t the support he’d desired.
“It is what it is,” he said. “It worked out in the end.”
There was the smallest smile on his face at that, barely betraying what must have been true joy at having a dream slip through his fingers only to fly back to him. And he’d earned every bit of it, even if he wanted to keep it to himself.
“So now,” you began softly, “you just have a lot of little things that you can offer people. The little things you could have been. That’s not so bad, right?”
“No, it’s not so bad,” he agreed. “I always liked that story.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he said. “Japanese astronomy varies so much from region to region and is usually about more functional things. Harvest, seasons. But these other myths about people with no chance of being heroes becoming ones anyway…”
He trailed off, but the sentiment was there. Trapped in the things he’d done to try and leave heroism behind were little vestiges. The inescapable fact that he was meant to be a hero and would be one anyway, even if the world told him he was a villain, doomed for failure.
The stories had been true.
“Are you feeling better now?” he asked, surprising you.
“Feeling better?”
“You’d been out here for over an hour,” Shinsou stated. “Your eyes were glassy and distant and you were freezing and you didn’t seem to notice.”
“Oh,” you intoned. You hadn’t realized it had been that long. You were sure it had only been half that time.
“You don’t have to tell me anything,” he said. “I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay.”
“No, I’m fine,” you said truthfully. “I’m fine now.”
The anxiety from earlier that had been buzzing through you had kept you awake, all while thoroughly draining you. You’d hardly realized just how much until now, with your body not just feeling settled but heavy. The stress had run straight through you, and now you bore the fatigue.
Shinsou glanced down at you out of the corner of his eye. His brows raised and it lifted his whole face, making the dark circles under his eyes just a little less stark. “You look exhausted.”
“You always look exhausted,” you retorted, your first little grin curving along your lips.
In his surprise, Shinsou smiled too. “I know that. Here.”
Shinsou took your forgotten drink from your hand and set it down, then patted his shoulder.
“You should rest for a little while.”
Your eyes met his, searching for anything that looked like obligation or impatience. But there was none. Just a surprising amount of openness and a pretty shade of purple.
“Do you have more myths?”
Shinsou smiled and, once again, his gaze went up to the stars. As he started another tale, you snuggled onto his shoulder, the rest of your body drawing closer to his as well. He didn’t wait long to begin speaking, talking in more detail than he had before. There was no reason to be concerned that he might be boring you, or that you didn’t want to hear it. Really, these stories, these stars that had brought him even the tiniest speck of light were just what you needed too.
You weren’t sure when you fell asleep, and you weren’t sure when you woke up. But when you blinked your eyes awake, the first thing you noticed was that Cassiopeia hadn’t moved far. The second was the feeling of Shinsou’s head tilted against yours, his breath like gentle waves under you.
You shifted, signaling that you were awake, and Shinsou did too, his head lifting from yours. At some point, his arm had wrapped around you, encasing you in his warmth. He didn’t move it, not yet, as your body creaked and you forced yourself to sit up.
“How long?” you murmured, voice barely raspy with sleep.
“Not that long,” Shinsou answered, echoing your reply from earlier.
He didn’t look at his phone or a watch, and hadn’t since he’d come out, so you wondered if he had any clue. Or if it simply hadn’t felt long. Somehow, the idea that his time spent with you hadn’t felt long was a comfort, a relief.
“How are you feeling?”
You checked in, feeling that grogginess that always came in the wake of an intense mental episode. Your brain struggling to catch up and survey the backlash from its earlier antics. That would go away. It always did. “I’m good.”
Shinsou continued to look at you, switching between each eye, double checking your expression for any lie. But he must not have found any, for he leaned back into the bench and relaxed, that tiny ghost of a smile back on his face.
“I’m glad to hear that,” he said, gazing out again. “You out here alone before? It had been…well, we were…I wanted to check on you.”
For the first time, Shinsou looked almost a little shy, and you couldn’t help but smile, touched. You put a hand on the shoulder that had just taken your weight and brought his gaze back to you. “Thank you.”
There actually was one thing you knew about stars. You’d heard that every light year a star was away from you was a year into the past you were seeing its light. Looking at the stars was looking millions of years into the past. Despite the fact that these selfsame stars connected you to humans around the world today and those of old, that filter of distance and time rendered them ancient, if not already gone.
But as you looked at Shinsou, their soft, silvery starlight illuminating one side while the last dancing coals of the fire glowed on the other, you were sure that this was the opposite. This wasn’t old or past or known to anyone but the two of you. This wasn’t the stars or even the stories inspired by them.
This was just beginning.

The Oar in the Sand - Chapter Two: The First Day of Nostos
And the second chapter is here! I feel evil for writing this, buuutt we need drama. And plot.
For those who are new to the AIB fandom, this is the sequel to my other Chishiya x OC/Reader fic - you can find the first one, and the Chishiya pov side series, either on AO3 or on my Tumblr.
I’ll keep this short and sweet, and leave the AO3 link to this chapter here.
And the link to my AO3 profile where you’ll find the other fics is here.
As always, thanks for reading! Your support means the world :D
---------------------------------------------------
Daylight spilled through the window onto the empty side of the bed. It wasn’t unusual for Chishiya to wake up before me, although usually in my dreaming I would feel the dip of the mattress as he left. I must’ve been in such a deep sleep that I hadn’t noticed. But that’s okay. I needed all the rest I could get.
Rubbing my eyes, I stretched out a hand to feel the sheets. They were still warm, as was the light that enveloped my fingers in its glow. It would have been peaceful morning, here in the sun and the cosy sheets, if not for the budding anticipation within me.
Noon.
That’s when it all starts.
Kicking back the covers, I forced myself to get up and dressed. No matter how much I wanted to laze around, there was no telling what would happen, and so I chose more comfortable, practical clothes – cropped cargo pants, with a t-shirt and hoodie. It was only when I headed down the creaky stairs into the overwhelming silence of the living room, that Chishiya’s absence became even more apparent.
If he wasn’t down here, that left only one place he could be.
Is he aware of how predictable he is?
Emptying a bottle of water into a pan, I lit up the camping stove, watching as the water slowly frothed into simmer before bubbling away. Then spooning some instant coffee into two small mugs, I poured some of the water into each. It wasn’t great, but it was the closest thing to a real cup of coffee we could get in this world. Carefully carrying the two mugs, I stepped outside, and immediately squinted under the sun’s glare.
If it’s this high in the sky, there can’t be much longer now.
Just around the side of the store was a fire escape ladder. I had practiced this a few times, holding both mug handles in one hand, as I shakily clambered up to the roof. I only spilled a couple of drops, but it was nothing compared to the first time I tried to do this. Moving slowly, I slid onto the rooftop.
And there he was.
Lounging near the edge, one knee bent up, Chishiya was staring out at the cityscape. The first thing I noticed when I sat beside him was the mug in his hand. And once again, I felt like an idiot.
‘You already made coffee?’ I set the unwanted extra between us, eyeing his steaming mug. ‘And you didn’t leave any for me.’
‘You were fast asleep,’ he replied, taking a sip. ‘It would have gone cold.’
‘You could’ve woken me up.’
‘And if I had, you would have complained all morning.’
I hate to admit it, he’s kind of right.
I clutched my own mug, letting the warmth seep into my fingers as I counted each blimp suspended over the city. So far, nothing had changed from yesterday. But then again, it also wasn’t noon yet. Slowly drinking my coffee, I sighed. ‘I guess I’ll just have to drink twice as much now.’
Chishiya didn’t even bother entertaining me with a reply. He seemed content with the peace and quiet. Only, when he finally set down his empty mug, he reached for the extra one.
I raised a brow. ‘I thought you didn’t want it.’
He began to drink it anyway. ‘These cups are too small.’
I dipped my head into my mug to hide my smile, although knowing him, he probably saw it anyway. The sun was now gleaming above the empty city, nearly at its highest point in the sky. Apprehension swelled uncomfortably within me, and I wrapped my arms around my knees while I finished my coffee. ‘Are you going to go to the Jack of Diamonds today?’
‘The Queen and King too,’ he said. ‘I’ll work my way up.’
It was fine. It was fine. Chishiya was clever enough to survive, and I had every confidence that he would complete the games easily. More importantly, he was the most intelligent person I’d ever met. If anyone stood a chance at clearing the Diamond face cards so we could all go home, it was him. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t scared.
He could still get hurt. He could still...
It didn’t bear thinking about.
‘At least let me come with you.’ Before he could protest or decline, I added, ‘Just to wait outside. I can’t sit here, not knowing anything.’
His expression was guarded as he downed the last of his coffee. ‘Do what you want. Although you might be waiting a while. I don’t know how long the games will last.’
A loud gunshot blasted in the distance. I jumped, inching closer to Chishiya. He was stone still. Another shot ricocheted, the clap echoing off the concrete skyscrapers. Were guns usually that loud? Loud enough to be heard all the way from here? This sounded almost like an explosion, only sharper.
Something’s not right.
And I knew exactly what.
Chishiya set his second empty mug on the rooftop. ‘It’s started.’
-----------------------------------------------
The city streets were deserted, yet I couldn’t help but stay on my guard. While the games were contained to their venues, that gunfire before hadn’t been normal – I’d witnessed enough of Niragi’s sniper to know the difference. It had gone on for several minutes, before eventually ebbing away, and only then did we set out for the Jack of Diamonds venue.
Despite the threat of the games ahead, Chishiya appeared relaxed on the surface, but there was a slight crease between his brows, and his eyes scanned every alleyway we passed, occasionally drifting to our reflections in store windows. His hands were pushed into his pockets, and I didn’t dare try to hold one.
‘Are you worried about the game?’ I kept my voice low, just in case.
‘You shouldn’t have come with me.’
I thought we’d already talked about this.
There was no way I could sit around in our little hideout, never knowing whether or not he was going to come back. I needed to be there. I needed to see the outcome with my own eyes.
‘You told me to do what I want,’ I said. ‘And this is what I want. I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine. Those guns were probably from a game.’
‘Maybe... maybe not,’ he mused.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. Chishiya may not be the easiest person to read, but we both knew what he was really trying to say. We rounded a corner, heading further into the city centre. From what we could see of the blimps, the Jack, Queen and King of Diamonds were all pretty close to one another, and all within a reachable distance from the furniture store.
‘You should be more worried about your game,’ I remarked.
‘Why?’
‘What do you mean, ‘why’? You could... you know.’
‘If I die, it’ll be of no consequence for you,’ he said. ‘And besides, I’ll die at some point anyway. There’s no use in trying to avoid it.’
His words no longer scared me, but rather, they were upsetting. How could he be so cavalier about it?
He really doesn’t care about his own life...
‘It does have consequence. I told you in the dealer’s den, didn’t I? If you’re not going to try and survive for yourself, then at least do it for me.’
The corner of his mouth lifted into that familiar sly smile. ‘Such big demands. You shouldn’t waste your own life being concerned about mine.’
We crossed the road, entering a new street, and the metal edge of a blimp appeared in the far distance.
‘I think I told you about that too. I can’t help being scared for you.’ I glanced away, looking instead at the side of a van. The words still felt strange to say out loud, even if I’d said them so brazenly during the Witch Hunt. ‘I lo—’
The van door erupted in a hot blast of glass and metal. The force blew me back, stumbling, as something struck my face. Hands gripped my forearms, dragging me away from the ground – I was on the ground? – and pulling me in a direction. I didn’t know where we were. The streets were shaking, or maybe I was. Maybe the whole world was shaking. And was that Chishiya in front of me?
Chishiya?
There was red in his blond hair and on his neck, wet and glistening. And his fingers were tight – far too tight – around my wrist. Where was he going? My feet were moving after him. No, he was the one dragging me like this, swaying us back and forth erratically. My eyes began to focus, the fog in my head clearing a little.
The gunshots... and that van. But how could a gun do that to a van?
‘Chishiya?’
If he heard me, his only response was to pull me harder until his fingernails dug into my skin. My numb legs jittered and tingled, but I tried my best to keep up with him. There was a strange humming above our heads, and I looked up, catching sight of a blimp overshadowing the office buildings above, darkening their windows and...
A gleam.
‘Chishiya!’
Glass exploded everywhere as the store window behind us shattered. Someone screamed – they sounded like me, only I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t... Someone tugged at my clothes, but I tore away, sprinting as fast as I could down the street. There was a shooter. There was someone shooting at us.
Side to side... I need to run from side to side.
As I ran, I veered in different directions, trying to keep things as unpredictable as possible. I ducked around corners and alleys, only to realise something. Chishiya was nowhere to be seen.
Don’t panic.
I slowed, breathless, as I swung onto another street, dipping behind a store.
Don’t panic.
The store crashed apart; the windows destroyed. Arms shielding my face, I toppled to the ground, coughing uncontrollably at the smell of hot plastic as mannequin limbs scattered the pavement.
I needed to run... I needed to run. My head was throbbing and burning now. Picking myself up, I pushed to keep going, running no matter how much my limbs ached. There was a strange buzzing noise that clashed painfully with the ringing in my ears.
And then I saw a glimmer of hope.
Across a traffic intersection was a large, off-white building with endless windows, marked 図書館. The entrance door shut softly as someone took shelter inside.
There!
The buzzing noise grew louder and louder, and my vision swam as I tore across the empty roads and into the building, slamming the door behind me. My legs finally gave way, and I collapsed against the wall, my eyes closing as I caught my breath.
Chishiya. I lost sight of him after that window was destroyed. Maybe he ran in the other direction. Or maybe... No.
He can’t be. He wouldn’t, not that easily.
‘It’s you.’
My eyes shot open at the familiar voice. Of all people to bump into, An was staring down at me with mild concern. It was An. Surging with relief, I tried to get to my feet to greet her, only my head flashed with dizzying pain.
‘No,’ she said. ‘Don’t get up. You’ll need your strength.’ I didn’t understand. She came in here to shelter too, right? Before I could question her, she crouched down in front of me and gently touched my forehead. Her fingers came back red. ‘What happened?’
My lungs ached with each syllable. Just getting the words out was a struggle. ‘苣屋一緒...にいた. ダイヤモンドのジャックに... 行っていた. 銃の音... が聞きた. すべて...’ I was together with Chishiya... We were going to the Jack of Diamonds... I heard gun sounds... and then everything...
I didn’t know the words for ‘gunshots’ or ‘explosion’, but An still nodded in understanding. Her eyes narrowed a little at Chishiya’s name, only she didn’t appear to be surprised by what I told her.
‘That’ll be the King of Spades. His sniper isn’t a regular gun. It’s designed to penetrate airships and armoured cars apparently.’
I didn’t understand the latter half of what she said, but one name stuck out unmistakably.
The King of Spades?
‘どう知ってるか?’ I asked. How do you know?
An gestured behind her, and I finally noticed the two women anxiously watching us. One had long, flowing blond hair and was wearing a thin headband. The other had brown hair tied up in pigtails. ‘He attacked our camp right after the second stage started.’
So those were the gunshots we heard on the roof. And their camp...
‘Kuina?’
An lowered her head to the tiled floor. ‘I wish I could tell you, but I don’t know where she is. She left in a car with Arisu and Tatta. We were in a separate car and we drove all the way here.’
Kuina... she has to be alive. I refuse to believe otherwise.
She was strong and smart, and if she drove away with those two, she was probably okay.
Probably.
It made sense that the King of Spades started with their group, then travelled further into the city centre before running into Chishiya and I. But if he was moving to attack players then that could only mean... A sickening feeling grew in the pit of my stomach.
‘彼のゲーム会場,’ I said, ‘全部の東京だね?’ His game venue. It’s all of Tokyo, isn’t it?
‘It seems that way,’ An said, adjusting her sunglasses. ‘From what I can assume, the only place that isn’t his game venue is within other games.’ She glanced reassuringly at the other girls behind her. ‘While we’re in here, we should be safe from him, at least.’
At least?
A horrible thought slipped into my mind. A really, really horrible thought. But I almost didn’t want to believe it. It would be too unlucky – a downright cruel trick of fate.
My apprehensiveness must’ve been obvious, as An tilted her head, curiously. ‘You didn’t know,’ she murmured. ‘この建物はダイヤモンドの女王会場だ.’
No, it couldn’t be true. Maybe I misheard. I had to have misheard. My mind ran in circles, desperate to find Chishiya, to go home and finish my sentence, tell him what I tried to say before the van windows burst. But Chishiya wasn’t here. I didn’t know where he was. I was alone.
Assuming I hadn’t quite understood, An said it again, slower this time. There was no need. My fate was already sealed the moment I took shelter here.
‘This is the Queen of Diamonds venue.’
