Round 6. Selvadorado. Fall. (I know it's supposed to be Summer)

after being surrounded by shadowy forests of Granite Falls your sim finds themself among the bright jungle, they wish to dig up some artifacts, find a treasure and dance the nights away! Natalia is ready for her next adventure! (It seems rain follows her everywhere because everyplace we have been to has been nothing but rain for DAYS!) She has enjoyed solo travel for the most part but on her first night she met a stray dog named Runt and now she cant stop thinking about the idea of possibly adopting him and bringing him along her adventures. But she has never had an animal before so she worries she won't be able to care for him properly. After her break-up with Oaklynn, she has tried to keep her mind occupied but it was nice having a companion for her travels and to talk to someone at night.

Pelican Town Hood - Download

UPDATE: Version 1.2 is out and contains some minor fixes like adding missing storytelling images and fixing surnames.

It's finally here! This is a recreation of Pelican Town from Stardew Valley as a custom Sims 2 neighborhood. It contains:

17 playable lots/families

7 bin families

14 community lots

5 custom townies (+ Leo in the adoption pool)

6 stray animals inspired by the cats and dogs you can choose in SDV

All buildings and Sims are supposed to resemble their SDV counterparts as much as possible. I am definitely more comfortable with building than with CAS, so feel free to give the Sims makeovers ^^ All sims have custom memories, relationships, skills, bios, family photos etc.

All EPs and SPs are required! Keep in mind that this is by no means a CC-free hood. I have included all of the CC with the download, see the attached README for more information. I might make a CC-free version one day if anyone's interested, but that's a pretty big might! I am using default replacements in the screenshots, these are not included in the download.

If you decide to play the hood, be sure to let me know about any problems or feedback you might have. I am super excited to see what you all do with it. This is the first time I created and shared a custom neighborhood for TS2, so I hope everything is working properly.

Full disclosure, I experienced some pink soup issues during playtesting :( They were usually resolved by exiting and re-entering the lot. I don't know if it is caused by my system or this particular neighborhood, maybe it's the amount of trees? Anyway, let me know if you encounter any similar issues.

Thanks y'all for showing interest in this project and encouraging me to finish the hood! I started this back in March 2022 and was done building a long time ago, but setting up all the SimPE stuff took much longer than expected. I had loads of fun though!

A little project that was supposed to be just for fun, but felt so cool I decided to give it a little more character, make it CC-free and share it.

I adore the original townies of the base game. At some point I noticed that some of the adults share similarities with teens and kids - so I figured out how to merge them into whole families, based on their shared face templates, genetics and/or last names. Sadly, some last names were lost in the process, so I kept a few of them alive in street names.

And there are two things that annoy me about this town. First, FIVE (5) Sims use the 7th face template (Marylena, Melissa, teen Ivy, Orlando and Chandler). Second, the names Ivy and Orlando are doubled. But well, they're townies originally!

There are 12 families, that's quite a lot for a starting neighborhood, but many of them are single Sims (often single parents), so they have the potential to merge.

The families:

Bendett-LeTourneau Marisa Bendett and her daughters Sophie and Meadow, Brandi LeTourneau and her kids Alvin and Chloe.

GilsCarbo Goopy GilsCarbo is married to Marylena Hamilton (now GilsCarbo) and they have a teenage daughter named Ivy.

Cox Kennedy, Melissa and their two sons: Orlando and Chandler. They own a dog named Otis. Chandler is not Kennedy's biological son, see Melissa's memories for details.

Copur Ivy Copur and her roommate Abhijeet Deppiesse.

Tellerman Jan living alone, next door to her brother Komei.

Tellerman Komei, Christy and their daughter Brittany. There's a new baby on the way!

Other population notes: Anything other than the Pleasantview game folder has been cleared out of character files, so there are no vanilla pets, social groups, garden club members etc. All service Sims are Maxis because they belong in the Pleasantview folder. The only typically Maxis pets are Otis and Heidi that are replicas of the original adoption pool pets made in CAS. Other than that, if you call the adoption center, the game will spawn brand new strays and pets to adopt (NoStrayRespawn will prevent it). So don't panic if your game freezes for a few seconds! The only dog that already exists is a beta wolf named Bob. The alpha wolf is also to be generated and his name will probably be Balin. Since the townies are now playables, I made a few townie children, teens and adults. They are CAS Bin Sims. There's also the founder Sim that I needed as the first playable to spawn all the townies on the lot (his name is Deighton Freeman) and Nerissa Bee who's supposed to be the clothing store owner. This neighborhood has no subhoods. Feel free to add them if needed.

Townieville landscape: Made on the Sedona map but in lush, the town gives (as one of my viewers pointed out) the Blue Ridge Mountains vibe! So it could be located in North Carolina or Virginia.

All the houses are Maxis, just furnished by me. Some of them have been reconstructed on the inside so the families have enough space. Four families live in an apartment building that I built from scratch.

There are many needed community lots: a town pool, a clothing store, a convenience store, a game arcade, a tiny bistro, a park, a graveyard. Some of them are built by me and some are Maxis lots from the bin (often edited by me). There's also a lake beach on the hill, close to the Sims family.

The town revolves around a big hospital building where Brandi and Marisa work as doctors.

Hi everyone! This new build is an animal shelter (or rescue shelter) and is perfect for completing the The Animal Rescuer lifetime wish. This is mostly catered for cats or dogs as I think it would be harder to take care of minor pets at the same time.

I always have a soft spot for animals and would always include them in my gameplay thus I have sparse décor in most of my builds to let them run around the house. Anyways, please be kinder to all stray animals out there and adopt, don't shop!

For this shelter to work, I have set this lot as residential and created living quarters for Sims at the back. There are two bedrooms and can fit three Sims or four if you place a bunk bed or extra bed in the second bedroom.

The above pictures show the residential section of the shelter — the area where your Sims will reside—while the remaining shelter facilities are indicated by Public Room Markers.

📣If you want to move things anywhere at the shelter, please enable “testingcheatsenabled true” and “RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings Off” after. If you want to place more markers, enable “buydebug on” as well.

Hi, could you share which ROS events you use please 😀

I know I'd shared these a couple times before, but I scrolled back a bit and it's definitely changed a lot since the last time, which was August 2022! Back then I had 48 on the list, now it's up to 70.

Putting more info and the full list behind a cut to save your dash!

I just keep all my gameplay notes and stuff on my ipad, easiest for me. I don't use an ROS program or anything so there's no weighting, no major or minor scenarios etc. I just use Siri or random.org to pick a number.

The scenarios are a mix of other people's lists I've found, plus ones I've made up myself. It's pretty nice to my Sims so there aren't any death or divorce ones or anything lol. I've removed some I used to use as my gameplay has evolved, if they no longer fit.

Day out - all eligible Sims go to a community lot

Movie night - invite friends over for a movie and snacks

Picnic - make food and go to a park for a picnic

Family reunion - invite over any known family members

Blind date - call matchmaker for a single Sim

New outfit - your Sim wants a new outfit, go shopping

Games night - no homework for kids, play games all night

Large pet adoption - get a cat or a dog, Roll dice to choose

Small pet adoption - a small caged animal will join the family (including rabbits)

Grouchy - your Sim picks d4 arguments with another

Vacation time - spend a couple nights away at a vacation destination (or more!)

Fitness regime - your Sim wants to work out, get fit and eat healthy

Rebellious - child or teen skips school and doesn’t do homework for 1 to 3 days, sneaks out, bad interactions

Date night - take a Sim couple out on a date

This is a story based challenge which I pulled this theme straight out my ass but it’s a standard Legacy challenge, but I think you’ll be able to see our thought process through this. We didn’t assign colors to the generations but i’m a SUCKER for a good berry challenge so in our play through we did color coordinate  >ᴗ< 

As always, lilsimsie’s Not-So-Berry challenge was a huge inspiration as well as

At the bottom we’ve included some things from our personal legacy if inspiration is ever needed. We did not include them in the requirements because we did not feel it was needed for that specific generation, just that it fit our character specifically.

FACTS: - oldest of four siblings born in Henford-on-Bagley. - she mastered cooking in her teens because there was always so many people to cook for at home. She also maxed out the three required skills for gen 2 - video gaming, programming, veterinary - before she moved out and bought the clinic in Brindleton Bay. And that means I've been able to go hard with drama the whole time she's been an adult! - a skilled gamer, she's one of the best ever at Incredible Sports, but hasn't played much since she bought her clinic and started a family. - she was a straight-A student but programming was her least favourite subject - even though she eventually used her programming skills to hack into Landgraab Systems to get back at Malcolm, her ex. - I waited until YA to give her the Unflirty trait (challenge requirement) and it left her hopeless and haplessly flirting, autonomously or otherwise, throughout her teens. I knew my Gen 2 MC was a fascinating little mess of pixels based on some of her autonomous choices (trying to flirt with a drunk Bob Pancakes as a teenager, thinking evil snob Malcolm Landgraab was all that!) and her love life would be so much fun to play out. And she has totally delivered! Bonus Fact: Every child she's ever given birth to has a different father.

Smokey and SV

So, I haven't been playing much because.... well, because I got stung by a wasp and ended up in the hospital. Then had an adverse reaction to the drug they gave me, and yes, it was a mess. But all is good now!

Anyway, here's a few shots from my current towns. The first 3 are from the Dickens town known as Smokey, while the rest are from hancyan's town.

This is a dive bar/tomb from Parsimonious Sims. It's an old, old lot, and I did chop off the top 2 floors to make it fit in better with its neighbors. And I grunged it up a tad. It's down by the town port. Next to it, is that barbershop owned by that Sweeney Todd dude. And then, some apartments.

This is another old lot from TSR by @murfeelee. I think the original was a residential, but here it is the town cemetery. I did mod it a tad to fit the new space, and extended the graveyard out back. Oh! And I added some broken windows by cyclonesue.

Then, back in hancyan's world, I moved the Landgraabs into this house over on 122 Wright Way. Anyway, Kermit - the patriarch of the family - has one of those new "horseless" carriages, because - unlike the Goths - he's progressive. He is currently running for town mayor, while his wife, Kitty, is taking over the family business interests until their eldest, Adrien, can step into his father's shoes. Unbeknownst to them, their eldest son has no intention of stepping anywhere- unless it's a bar. Meanwhile, their daughter Mimi - a royal brat - is trying to convince her father to let her take over. (He still believes women should know "their place." So, despite what he likes to believe about himself, he's not that progressive.) The little boy, is Chester, Nancy Landgraab's father. While their pet poodle is Coco.

This is where the Bachelor family live - over on 24 Sim Lane. They are of Romani descent. The father, Simis, is the principle at the local school, while his wife, Mahala, is the local fortune teller. I based their family history on some of the game info from earlier versions of the family. Anyway, the oldest son, is Fenric, the daughter is called Gabby (because she has the shy trait and rarely says anything), while her twin is Milton - father of the current Simis in Sunset Valley. And their cat is Jinx.

Then, where Erin Kennedy currently lives, is this house owned by the Jones family. I just grabbed them from that Roaring Heights world and brought them here. In this version of their life, she is from Champs Les Sims and married a sim from Twinbrook who decided to settle here. He was a sailor, who promised her just one last voyage, then he would quit. Unfortunately, he and his crewmates met up with a Kraken and that was it for them. Now she's here - in a foreign land where she doesn't really speak the language. Her daughter is growing impatient with the whole "woe is me!" act and just wishes her mother would move on, while the son is just tired of all the fighting. Luckily, he has a new dog - a stray he found and adopted - despite his mother's objections.

Sims 4 Sweet Life Legacy Challenge

Hi, this is the creator of this challenge! I am not a professional when it comes to making legacy challenges but I try my best! You can find multiple other ways of seeing my progress on doing my own legacies and other fellow simmers legacies as well. I have always been fond of doing legacy challenges, they give me more purpose to play sims in ways that I myself would not know how. Let's be honest sims 4 can be very boring if you don’t have anything planned out, that's why challenges make the game so much better - along with custom content -. If you decide to use my challenge I hope you have fun and enjoy this!

General Rules for this Challenge are pretty simple but I don’t want to make this challenge so easy that people can fly thru each gen like butter.

Generation 1 - Cinnamon

Your parents are and have always been big on their vegetable garden and being complete Vegans. They make money from selling their vegetables all around Henford-On-Bagley. It's their home and they will not leave under no circumstances. You never told them how you are definitely not a vegan. You in fact have a very strong sweet tooth, especially for Cinnamon Rolls. This is your secret from them. Your dream is to get out of Henford-On-Bagley and start your own sweets bakery completely not Vegan.

Aspiration- Master Chef (this is a mod-friendly challenge if you want to use the custom bakery aspiration be my guest)

Career- You make all your simoleons from baking sweets and eventually own your own sweets bakery.

It made you nauseous a lot when seeing both your parents sweaty from working out just casually being able to hug, kiss, or do anything with grime on them. This made you end up constantly cleaning the house, the car, EVERYTHING you can see that makes you see dirt. *sigh* Being a clean freak isn’t as easy when all you see is sticky.

Career- Influencer (you make money from your posts/videos of your positive clean lifestyle)

How to make smores, make fires, and tie a rope for about anything. Being in the outdoors is the best! Learning more things about the outdoors is all you want in life. You want your firstborn to be born in the outdoors, you want to die in the outdoors. Outdoor life is all you can think about when you get home from scouts. You even asked your parent(s) if you could go camping but they always said no. Now is your chance to let your dreams come true as a young adult!

Aspiration- Outdoor Enthusiast

Career- You make money from your finds. *Bugs, fish, etc*

Skills- Herbalism, & Gardening

Generation 5 - Banana Split

Camping has always been a huge thing for your family. Your parent could never get your grandparent to ever visit or join you. So you always had to travel the distance just to see extended family. It was always fun to watch what new buildings appeared and what new stores were made. Seeing cousins, family members and many more was never a hassle it was always a joy just to travel. Once you got your license to drive, no one was ever able to stop you from going off to travel somewhere.

Career- Critic *You are traveling a lot this is a perfect job for your sim*

Generation 6 - Brownie

Because of your very absent parent always traveling claiming it was for their job, they were not in your life that much. It was mostly you and your sibling. You had to learn to cook and clean, make sure that you and your sibling survive without the adult around. There was always money on the table, never had to struggle in that department yet you struggled to be happy. In school, you were bullied for your hair, and your clothes, and when sims found out that your parent was absent in your life the new nickname was now your name *housewife*. 

Aspiration- Super Parent

Career- Babysitter

Skills- Parenting

Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best snack ever in your sim opinion. Your sim parent would always make it for movie nights, after-school snacks even sleepovers! Yet the older they got the more sad you got that those Chocolate Chip Cookies will never be made by them ever again. Then it dawned on you, a lot of things are never gonna be seen or made again. You want to keep all that knowledge, keep everything you know and not let it go away. This got you into collecting things specifically shiny things.

Your sim parent always tried to make you feel included in the sim world teaching you everything about sims, but your alien parent was always making it known where your origin is from. Two different worlds yet it feels so hard to understand either. Getting away from it all and going somewhere new is probably what's best to handle your anxiety. You go to a small town with not that many sims and it's very unknown.

The warm gushy mushy feeling in your gut. Your heart pounding just being near the one you love. Watching romance movies and having celebrity crushes will never fill the void in your heart you want real love, you want a real sim to share your feelings with.

Especially since you have a dozen siblings meaning the house parties you throw will be massive. You are always excited about your young adult life growing up because all you want to do is throw parties and go to clubs to party some more.

hello and thank you for the ask!!!! i’ve been dreading getting this question because the truth is that i don’t know lmao

originally, the plan was no, and i was going to have mulder accidentally get attached to and adopt a neighborhood stray after they moved and name it fish (because he’s only ever had pet fish) (this was inspired by something that happened in my sims game bc i built the shelter house in the dogs&cats world). i started writing an interlude about it, about scully processing the grief of a traumatic pet death and all the loss around her etc. but then everyone was SO EXCITED about queequeg and i felt bad killing him off. so i haven’t decided yet! it’s schrodinger’s queequeg i guess, both alive and dead at the same time

The Siew family is getting a pet from a ROS. Since it was my choice, I decided on a kitty, because I have way too many wolf-dogs already. I found this breed and fell in love with it. If I add any more pets someday, hairless cats are probably next in line, for some variety. I was considering getting hyenas as well.

I rolled for the Li's personality and just changed the colours of her coat and eyes to make her a bit more distinct. I added her to family in hood view, and went through the process of turning Li into a stray and adopting her, but I realized it didn't add any memories of getting new family members.

The cat was a gift for Yune's birthday, as she was aging up on the first day of spring.

Yong aged up when the round was coming to an end. He was rolled to become a Romance sim, just like his mom... We won't actually have much time to spend with him, so I needed to find a mate for him.

He's probably going to marry Lovi Tia, since she's already a teen and she is a Pleasure sim. Although she is slightly older, they should be able to produce two kids together.

Yong made friends with all the men of the Tia family - the grandfather, the father, and the brother of his future betrothed. Lovi Tia showed up just in time for Yong's birthday, an hour before he would be aging up.

Yong and Lovi both wanted to make out during their date. They also fell in love and wanted to WooHoo. However, the date was about to end and Lovi was starving, so I sent her home. They will have to get married next round.

Because of the need to purchase some 'furniture' for the new addition to the household, and because they needed to fertilize the rice fields, this family started with almost 0$ (spoiler alert: they also ended the round with about as much).

I allowed Saku to get her last 2 vacation payments and then she quit her job. She opened the store after her son had aged up, on the last day of the round.

She got 375$ x 2 for free before she quit her job. And they earned 654$ in the business. The reported came over again and wrote yet another positive review. The business is now rank 2. Both Saku and Yong got the Bronze Sales Badge, as well.

They earned 1404$ total.

500$ - rent

562$ - tax

140$ - tithe

They technically owed 1200$, but I let them off the hook and allowed them to pay 1000$. That's all they have and it's really because of the pet bowl issues that they couldn't afford the rent.

I absolutely hate finicky pets... I had issues getting this cat to eat from the bowls I have. I decided to give the Au Naturel set a try, but the cat wouldn't eat the prey either, only hunt... I think Li only ate when she was starving. But I kept resetting the bowls, filling them and praying that she would eat. I love pets in real life, but pets in TS2 are... something...
