UNFUCKWITABLE: My confidence didn't come from what people call "concern trolling." A bunch of friends, family members and naysayers reminding me that I'm fat didn't make me the person that I am today. I almost lost EVERYTHING before I found my happy. And the crazy part is that it was here side eyeing me the entire time. My heart told me I was beautiful and strong. Even my reflection would give me two snaps of approval but people failed me every time. I was too fat, now not fat enough to some to have this conversation and even accused of pretending to have a disability to cover up the mere fact that I'm fat. Honey please -- I know I'm fat (and spare me the "you're not as fat as me" and "don't talk about yourself that way" comments.) For the Chicago marathon, I'll be running my 5'3 1/2, 236 lbs muscular leg, gym day arms and three pack loose gut ass across the finish line. Please continue trying to educate me on my own body. Continue reminding me that you can walk faster than I can run. Remind me about my unhealthy eating habits any time I pick up a piece of carb. And I'll keep showing you this 48 inch muscular ass with stretch marks to kiss after I'm done with these 26.2 miles. Keep watching. I'll keep entertaining you with my success. Day 28 and last Day of #selflovingyogis Yoga Challenge. Today is Malasana/ Garland Pose / Squat with the question: What is your biggest accomplishment that you are proud of? Honestly the last 6 months have been a huge accomplishment for me. Got in my head and told myself I need more and deserve more out of life. Went from a position that didn't challenge me to one that tests my skills and education. I got a car and I'm able to do more. I started teaching at the home of Mixxedfit. I also got to teach Mixxedfit to people in my community. Although January was the hardest month of my life with the passing of my brother I kept living. The last six months have been a life test and I'm thinking at the moment I got a solid B+. I've been emotionally out of whack since I came back home from NC. I was struggling to get out of my bed, no desire to cook and I ate one meal a day until yesterday. Depression will have you skipping showers, avoiding calls and feeling guilt about being depressed; maybe even depressed talking about your depression out loud to others. I've been seeing butterflies and moths either at home or the strangest places every single day since the Finger Lakes 50K. At one point of the race, I had a few land on me. Every day since then, a few make their presence in my bedroom, even at the airport in the bathroom and it made me think of my father. And loss. And these miscarriages. And the stress of not wanting to overthink about how many people are watching progressions and setbacks. Today, I acknowledged once again that I'm human. That I tend to get in this rut every year this time for the last four years like clockwork. I see moths and butterflies every time I get to a low point, even in the winter. Call me crazy but in ways I find it comforting. In my heart, I think it's my dad. When I was running with my husband, a huge butterfly with two smaller ones fluttered over my head, again trying to land on my arm. I slowed down to the swelling of my ankles, took a breath and thought to myself that these butterflies are just visitors or maybe reminders that I'm not on this journey alone. And for some reason, that gave me peace yesterday on the Rockland Trails. Is it ridiculous that I feel like going to the gym the day after the @chimarathon 😂😂😂... but I really do. Flashback to almost twerp weeks ago when I was at @murderofcrowsbarbellclub doing a video shoot for @hokaoneone and picked up @peter.trow. I think this is a thing that I'm enjoying too much. Some people like handshakes but I like lifting people up -- figuratively and literally. Sidenote: I understand the gesture that some of you don't think calling myself "plus size" or "fat" is necessary but respect that I use those terms AND they shouldn't be viewed in such a derogatory way.
