A species I've been thinking about rent-free for a while and finally brought visual to recently - the Mynx! These lil dudes get their name from a funny little saying ("Oh, you're such a minx!") + the animal species name (The Mink).

The first one is the Wild Mynx, and they are a bit slimmer, have silky-smooth fluff and come in the natural colors you'd probably expect a creature like it to have. They're a little skittish, but that skittish demeanor is what they rely on for survival and for skill in aiming at their desired target.

The second one is Domesticated, naturally evolved to become loving house pets, and as a result they come in many more wild color combinations (this one is Bigender-colored!) - their diet is much more flexible (they love fruits and sweets especially, though their primary form of nutrient "feeding" still applies in a similar way to how Wild Mynxes "feed" overall)! Their fur is described to be cloud-like and puffy. They're much more chill than their wild counterparts and will just lounge around if you let them. Their build is a tiny bit stockier, and it's not uncommon for pet Mynxes to get a little chubby, too.

These lil guys overall feed upon ticklish laughter by wiggling under the clothing of the poor lee who interacts with 'em in most cases (They also feed off of the funny yelps and sounds someone makes in having something fuzzy wiggling and tickling at them under their clothes but shh). As a result, it's always a good idea if you're looking around to check bushes or tree hollow hideouts. chances are you may hear a few squeaks out of them!

They're not really that small for being visually similar to Ferrets, Minks, Weasels etc, so when they target someone it's pretty visible what's going on to onlookers assuming it happens in the open!

Dergtober Day 30: Mimic

Mynx is a dragon who has the ability to fully mimic inanimate objects! I drew her with some of her draconic features so that it is obvious that it is her, but when she wants to, she can be indistinguishable from an ordinary piece of furniture.

River’s hands entangled and squeezed each other like vines, staring at his bedridden lover. It felt as if he was looking at a flower with its petals ripped.

“You're staring, darling.” Mynx said, voice soft as a whisper.

“How could I not?” He began. “You’ve been hurt.” He could feel his heart clenched tightly, bringing a shaky hand to her cheek. “How would you feel if I had gotten hurt?”

Mynx grew silent at that. She knew she'd be just as devastated as River was with her injuries. As she saw his expression, he became a bird that had hurt its wings. Eyes filled with sorrow. But the difference was that woeful birds usually didn't have guilt embedded deep in their eyes. As if it was a poison coursing through its veins. “Darling.”

“I should have protected you,” River finally spat out. Words spilling out like heavy hails of rain, harsh enough so you knew the clouds were trying not to cry for longer than the skies could handle. There it was, she expected it. Mynx’s head turned over to the window, eyes cast upon a subject of nothing.

“You often called me your flower. Compared me to lilies,” Mynx said, looking back at him. “Flowers may close during winter, but they’re able to bloom again. A gardener must not blame themselves if their flower starts to gloom. It's not always the fault of the gardener. The gardener must also have trust in their plants.” She turned back to him, eyes earnest. “Don't you trust I’ll bloom again, as well?”

“It's not that I don't trust you. You know I always will, with all my heart. But you do not understand how it felt, gazing upon your body as it wept out floods of crimson. I simply wish I’d been there. Maybe the outcome would’ve been different if I was.”

“I’m sure it was a difficult sight. You look as if you’re haunted by the memory alone.”

“The memory is a vivid one. It would be hard to forget if I tried, as it's engraved in my mind as deep as your wounds were in your body. I could never forget the vibrancy of the red as your eyes grew the slightest bit dull. I find it hard to tell if it's trapped in my mind or if my mind is trapped in it. I cannot help but wish I was there to do something. The blame is inevitably a conclusion that crosses my mind.”

“But it's not your fault, is it? I can see the guilt in your eyes. It's hard not to see the rain cloud above your head.”

“Rain cloud?”

“Your thoughts are cloudy,” she explained. “I can see it raining down on you.”

River didn't respond, but he reached out his hand and gripped hers into his own. He muttered under his breath, “Poetic as ever,” with no bite nor bark in his remark.

She smiled at him, a smile comforting as morning dew. “I’ll recover. There's no need to blame yourself for something you couldn't control. You weren't the one who hurt me. Your presence is already healing, so I honestly should be thanking you.”

The angel didn't say a word, for none was needed. He brought her hand up to his lips, and pressed a chaste kiss against it. Soft as a feather’s touch, and the freshest spring breeze. Warmth flew around them, wrapping them both in each other’s sweet presence. Perhaps the wordlessness spoke more than they could try to say.

JayVik ended up adopting 5 more kids, because I went insane.

Numbers 12 and 17 are nice enough. But I'd say 9 and 16 are taking it too far. (I guess that's why War's End was repeated twice.) These seem like they would make great references for drawing two people kissing.
