Happy 3 years everyone! Or. Well I suppose that’s a lie. Or anniversary for the blog is both the 13th and 17th but, that’s okay!

A big thanks from us here on the blog for helping us make it through the start of Covid, through 2020. It was such a delight to have a project to work on, a group to call home, for something to live for, really.. and while we’ve all moved on to other projects, other interests, into our own futures, that doesn’t mean our experiences are any less important.

Thank you all again for everything! I hope wherever you are now if your lives, that you’ll live well, and find the joy in the little moments. And just remember, to be loved is to be changed. And just like a childhood toy, you, too, will forever live in my heart and something special, important, and valuable beyond what money could ever hope to buy.

been making a lot of scene redraws/edits for the past few days,, buuut i'm not quite done with them yet,, so i'll prolly share them another time. until then- here's a lil pearl design! mostly made these to finalize her design,, since the next scene i'm doing involves lewis,, sksnsks.

Is Gorthalax under Oblivati Mori?

In episode 10, Lydia clarified that Bakur's god was a god of the Nine Hells, likely of fire and rage and torment. Like Gorthalax, Bakur is a pit fiend. Oblivati Mori is a law of Theothanatic Silence, which means the gods are not meant to mention fallen gods, but we don't exactly know what laws Pit Fiends must follow. Bakur at least wasn't allowed to mention his god's name, but he was able to convey enough that Lydia's party knew that he was trying to resurrect his old god.

In episode 4, Gorthalax mentioned that he knew the guy who invented spite, and that he was an okay guy, but warned the bad kids away from making spite and revenge a priority. Adaine asked him to name drop the inventor of spite, but Gorthalax right breezed past it.

Did Gorthalax know the dead god of rage and torment? After the deity transitioned from a giant god to a god of the nine hells? How much would he be able to talk about the god if he was asked?

I headcanon that Dúnedain of both the North and Gondor have a considerable number of ... like, low-grade magic trinkets that they often don't know the provenance of.

This stuff isn't at all on the scale of the palantíri, though some were definitely brought from Númenor (mostly because people would carry them around for luck). There's some stuff that they got from Elves, especially in Dol Amroth and Eriador. There's some they crafted all on their own, like Merry's dagger or Boromir's horn. There's some they make and then place virtues on (whatever that means).

But even the jewels of this kind aren't like mini-Silmarils, they're more like mini-Elendilmíri—there's definitely something going on and they seem just a little too bright at times, but a lot of the inheritors of those kinds of gems have never been able to figure out what they're supposed to do beyond that. And sometimes the answer is "nothing," some of these things were just crafted to be nightlights for scared children that would also look nice when they got older. Sometimes this stuff helps with tracking in a minor way, or things like that.

Gondorian Dúnedain also seem to know about the One Ring, but in my headcanon, their understanding starts out with: "oh, so like Grandfather's ring that shines when he gets lost? but evil."

I couldn’t fit everything inside the frame…

so I decided to do just a little landscape practice and removed Dipper and Mabel. They’re still a major part of the story, they’re just not included on the cover. 😅😅😅

This is basically another AU. I really wanted to include Dipper and Mabel on the front, but with too many elements getting in the way, I just focused mainly on the color schemes. It turned out pretty well than I expected.
